They are the author of the post so assuming they're saying thank you because they started a post asking for an old lady survivor and now 4 years later its happening.

My apologies for not explaining earlier.

I’m genuinely thrilled about this survivor it’s one I’ve been dreaming of ever since I started playing DBD. Her lore, aesthetic, and voice lines are all exceptionally well crafted. The team truly did an outstanding job, and it’s also thanks to the community who voted for her that she became a reality

    SO THANK YOU EVERYONE <3

By honing the fundamentals and not taking shortcuts, mostly.

Again, this advice isn't for everyone. If you don't care about the arguments I laid out, totally fine. I'm not trying to police anyone.

Tunneling is part the game, it’s under the fundamental skill of target priority. You don’t value this skill, you think it’s cheap. That is your opinion.
It doesn’t matter in the end, if you improve in one area it’s going to lead to wins and you will have at some point to be good at all fundamentals.

It's less "You won't improve" as its own caution, and more "You're going to make your games harder for yourself because you're not improving but the opponents you're facing are".

The thing I'm trying to convey is that in the long term it makes the game more frustrating and difficult.

And how do you improve ? By facing difficult survivors, not hindering yourself with stupid rules from the survivor rule book.

  • I am glad we have a perk like that in the game. I wish they would remove the exposed effect so it could become hard meta and show how spreading hooks destroys kill rates and end for good the idea that playing nice a viable strategy.

  • I don’t know what you are smoking but this map has a lot of strong areas.

  • The new survivor perk seems fun.

So you're practically basing your information off of nothing? Kill rates don't detail anything that goes into them. Unless the devs go into the specifics, because quite literally anything and everything in this game can cause those numbers to fluctuate, there won't be any substance to them other than being a number next to their respective killer.

But hey, what do I know? The average player must be insane with Sadako if she's managing to maintain a 67% kill rate across all MMRs!

And what are you basing your information off ? Your subjective experience ? Your inability to get a decent chase against a Nurse ?

Sadako is way easier than Nurse to get value in pubs for the average survivor, yes. She has better mobility, stealth and passive value (condemned). Once some pallets are gone and it’s a dead area there is nothing you can do against her. Meanwhile you can always break line of sights even in endgame against a Nurse. That’s the good thing about not relying on pallets to counter a killer.

  • @versacefeng said:

Where are you getting you’re info that the average Nurse player is bad with her?

    BHVR killers stats.

  • So I know it is easy to say but imho the key is to change your mindset.

    • instead of "performing" (and aiming to win), try to focus on “training” and getting better. This way even if you lose it is alright cause you will still learn about your mistakes. That’s what I am doing currently as Plague.
    • be nice to survivors, even when they are toxic. Pretend they are your friends you are having fun with (even if you don’t have any). That Ada Wong is furiously tbagging and clicking, trying to lure you at shack ? Haha, she is so funny and quirky thinking it’s going to work (let’s pretend she is absolutely not toxic). Let them say their insults in the end game chat and then drop a "gg you were all very good, have a nice day" and now, if they are decent human beings they will feel like fools.

If you want to see people going on Nurse winstreaks with or without perks go on youtube.

You are proving my point. These content creators are comp players with thousands of hours on her. The average player is a bad Nurse so she is not broken or a problem for the game.

  • @EternalRique said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/432870/why-is-nurse-allowed-to-be-broken

As a Nurse main; I agree.

There is nothing, and I'm speaking as someone who main her, there is nothing you can do against a good nurse; and don't even bring in aura reading perks.

There is nothing you can do against any good killer, except making the chase as long as possible (same with Nurse).
Killers should not be loopable for 5 gens.
Ex : Singularity. Anyone decent with it will catch you and there is "nothing" you can do to prevent it.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3842056#Comment_3842056

Why exactly should I do that? First of all, if I do that, you will simply say I go against low MMR-Survivors.

And second, why should I limit myself in that way while others are not doing that?

If a killer is strong, it is regardless of addons. Ex : Blight. I can easily stomp with this killer.

Now without perks so you don’t get carried by them. If a killer is very strong, you don’t need them to win consistently.
I trust you to not do this win streak with a low MMR account on her.

As for why : I think people should back up their claims, especially when they claim something is broken / overpowered and should be nerfed. Plus, you said she is easy to play.
If I were to claim some survivor perk is absolutely broken I would demonstrate it first. Why is it for this particularly killer you don’t want to ?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3841953#Comment_3841953

She is at least not as difficult to play as people claim her to be. Sure, learning her is hard, but actually playing her after learned… There are other Killers who are harder to play after learning them.

Show us your winstreak with no perks no addons. That would be easy right ?

    Thanks.

  • I'll take Huntress over Blight or Billy.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/432629/it-is-a-good-thing-2vs8-is-survivor-sided

Survivors run from killers like headless chickens everywhere or stay togeather as a herd not being efficient at all.

have you seen the guide class? you stick together and do gens……. also with 8 survivors, sticking together is far less punishing gen-wise because of how much over-dose repair you get. this was true in original 2vs8 as well with the scout aura+escapist speed boosts.

are you implying that survivor classes are not strong enough? instant gens, instant heals, speed boosts and perma wall-hacks. not strong enough. next version, pick 2 classes at once.

    Instant gens ? Explain.

  • Honestly, you need 2 medic to do that, in a 2v8 environnement, and they need to both use their power on a 2min CD. It doesn't seem very broken to me.

  • I will probably die on my gaming chair.

The implication of your comment is that matches where survivors die on first hook artificially inflate kill rates. My response is that matches where killers meme and let everyone escape artificially deflate kill rates. If you’re suggesting there’s a balanced middle ground then the killer winrates we have would be inaccurate. Since we know for sure the devs can parse out matches where a survivor dies on first hook (they showed us this with SM) we can’t really say the killer winrate they provide is accurate or inaccurate based on survivors dying on first hook. They’d need to clarify. I also think it’s unlikely they toss or filter matches where killers let survivors go. I do it all the time and I know that’s affecting killer winrates.

With the new mori system this doesn't happen often. You are encouraged to kill all of them.

  • I don’t care except I wish the stats did not include matchs where people try to unhook themselves and actually try so we could see the real kill rates.
I am pretty sure instead of ~60%, kill rates would be closer to 50% even 40% for some low tier killers.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

When I play Killer (or myself) for example I've learned to compliment my opponents on their moves instead of getting frustrated over them. If I'm losing they're obviously making good plays. Give them kudos.

That’s a good strategy, I am doing that too.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3828809#Comment_3828809

You are really that kind of person who only refers to the Stats when it benefits you. I am very sure that I have seen you in other Threads about high Killrates arguing against it, yet when Nurse has a low Killrate, that is all which is matters. That it is widely known and anyone who has somewhat of a clue of the game knows that she is the strongest Killer, does suddenly not matter.

Your argument for Nurse are also a bit funny. She needs practice, she is a woman and she is free2play. Out of those arguments, only one can really matter and it is the last one. And IMO this is one of the main reasons why she does not get any significant Nerfs, because BHVR can always say that the strongest Killer does not cost any money for any Pay2Win-allegations.

That she needs practice is honestly a joke, because her difficulty is highly overrated. She does not really need more practice than other Killers, the only thing is that practice on Nurse does not help you with any other Killer, while any other Killer can provide practice for most of the Killers of the Roster. But you really need to do much to be decent at Nurse to the point that you win most of your games. I guess a few hours (way below 10) and you are good enough.

And that she is a woman is a stupid argument, sorry. Nobody who likes to play her does it because she is a female Killer, she could be a nonbinary blue blob and players would still play her.

    @Topic:

Yes, a Nerf to Auras for Nurse would actually make sense. Her having Blindness when charging a blink or in fatique would actually nerf her. Because honestly, every Killer-Nerf is a Joke as long as Nurse is allowed to exist like that. She is not that hard to play and by far the strongest Killer. And IMO she should at some point reach a Strength-Level where people who make Tier Lists have actually have to argue why she is the best or consider that she might not be the best and not just slap her on Top of S-Tier and call it a day with a "It is Nurse".

And sadly I guess that Predator was nerfed because of Nurse and thats it. Because I have not seen any other Killer using this Perk and I have not used it myself on any other Killer than Nurse. Sure, it has its uses, but the use on Nurse is the most significant one since it turns of the only counter Survivors have against her.

And in general, she really holds back Perk-Design. It is time that the Devs hammer her with the Nerf-Bat instead of giving her a few slaps on the wrist. They are tinkering with so many Killers, yet Nurse is allowed to be so broken that she does not play DBD anymore. If I compare her to Billy, it is really a bad Joke - first Billy got slapped on Overdrive which really lowered the playrate and then when he got buffed and was STILL not as good as Nurse, he got slight Nerfs. Not unjustified, but as I said - as long as Nurse can exist like she is, other Killer-Nerfs are just a joke.

Don’t you ever win games against Nurse ?

And Peanits already addressed Nurses killrates previously. He said she was a good example of why stats don't provide the full story. She is a free killer so is commonly tried out by new players. Her high skill floor means new players suffer alot more losses with her while trying to master her, which brings her killrates down.

You keep dodging the stats we have for the top 5%.

  • @AssortedSorting said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3828765#Comment_3828765

Yes, Nurse does have a very unique power.

I actually like playing against Nurse: Where do I get the most line of sight blocks (instead of where the most pallets/vaults are)? If she’s far away, do I think she’ll try to blink on/in front of me/behind me? Where can I navigate to, to take advantage of blink travel time? Is she just going to try and consistently blink slightly behind me/cutoff paths to coral me to try and cut distance until she can get on top of me?

Unlike almost all other Killers that see Auras, she can blink onto them. Unlike most Killers, she is expected to use her Power for basic map traversal, and all chases. That is basically how she moves for any significant or timely distance.

I don’t mind Nurse using Auras to blink to faraway survivors as part of the mobility aspect of her Power (accomplished by looking at an aura before charging, then just sending it max distance that way), but what’s problematic is when she sees auras of Survivors she’s trying to blink at, as it removes a lot of the counterplay of double-backs behind cover and the like.

It’d be like introducing perks that made the killer able to walk through/ignore collision of vaults and pallets , only if a survivor used them recently.

Remember that using aura perks means you don’t have any gen regression. Even if chases are lethal you can always die in corners and brute force rush gens. Especially since the HUD update you know exactly if your teammates are keeping the Nurse busy. If the Nurse starts to make mistakes gens are going to fly fast.

The 2 perks you are probably talking about are nowhere to hide and predator.
    - nowhere to hide : just pre leave gens. She won’t get the info. Don’t show yourself for no reason, I see a lot people do that mistake. Nurse slow walking speed means she has to use her power even to check if a survivor is behind a rock. It adds up and waste a lot of time for her.
    - predator : that’s another perk slot on aura reading. If you see the nurse breaking chase get as much distance as you can. Usually the Nurse has to stop because walking into the survivor scratchmarks keeps the chase going. Yes, she will get info on the first blink but it is always the point of the first blink to get info and the 2nd blink to secure the hit. This perk is only shining on indoor maps. On any open map it doesn’t add anything new.

  • @AssortedSorting said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3828544#Comment_3828544

Yes, the key word is “if”.

That’s why I said she has a high skill floor.

She’s a feast or famine Killer entirely reliant on precision, benefiting heavily from excellent execution.

That is her playstyle niche, her design, and what is to be demanded, but not expected.

She’s the Killer designed for the “1%”.

(If you want to add some addons that retrofit her kit into something more easily used, go ahead, but I’d move that stuff to lower rarity addons instead of being iridescent like matchbook. In fact, make matchbook a yellow or something).

But make no mistake, made easier to play, her power would eventually still fall under scrutiny for its interaction with Auras while charging her Blink.

Imaging what the "1%" can do with theses killers (just some examples) : Singularity, Spirit, Oni, Sadako. I know a lot of content creators who have insane winstreaks with them. They destroy lobbies. Do these killers need nerfs ? No.
So the argument that nurse in oppressive in the right hands can be applied to any decent killer.

But for some reason, because the Nurse has a very unique power and is countered by line of sight instead of camping pallets (and running to shack for noobs), people are obsessed with the idea of nerfing her.
    Again, learn her counterplay.

Meaningless statistics to you. You have a problem with reality because kill rates mean something.

I'm not the one pointing fingers and screaming "MISOGYNY! WAKE UP!" at people for calling a video game character overpowered. So I don't think I'm the one with a reality problem.

Kill rates mean something, but not when they come from people like you throwing them around fallaciously to justify your blatant bias.

OK so Nurse is secretly overpowered but for some reason the huge majority of the playerbase can’t show it in game.
    Sure.

You probably saw a video from a dude with 8000h on her asking for nerfs so you decided to follow like a sheep not thinking about the majority of the playerbase.

That's not what a strawman is. Also you haven't made any points except citing meaningless statistics and bringing up whataboutisms.

Meaningless statistics to you. You have a problem with reality because kill rates mean something.

    @AssortedSorting said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3828367#Comment_3828367

She has the worst win-rate because her kit is entirely reliant on mastering her power, as her base movespeed is 3.85m/s (she’s slower than survivors even), with basic chase she has nothing.

But with her Power she can cut out basically all chase tools if she lands on top of the survivor, which is where her strength lies.

    A High skill-floor Killer.

Ironically, attributing misogyny to try to protect her because of perceived weakness, just from stats themselves, is a subtle form of misogyny derived from the bias of “Women are weak” used to structure your initial claim of misogyny in the first place, lol.

So she is hard to play.

"But with her Power she can cut out basically all chase tools if she lands on top of the survivor"

The key word is "if". Guess what, most players can’t.
You ALL need to wake up here and open your eyes. MOST players can’t, that’s why her win rate across all MMR is so low.

And even at TOP 5%, she is similar to other killers because even at this level players are not good enough to make her oppressive.

She SEEMS oppressive but as long as you manage to keep her busy her chase time will be similar to what any other killer could have done. But it doesn’t FEEL fair, so you have to come here and ask for nerfs. That’s quite pathetic.
But again, at the end of the day, stats don’t lie.
If she was that crazy broken like you keep claiming, her win rate at TOP 5% would be close to 80-90% but is it not.

So for who are we balancing the game ?
    The 0.1% or the 99.9% ?

Survivor players are misogynist for choosing to play as women?

Not going to answer this. I already made my point for nurse state and how she is not broken in the current game.

  • @Caiman said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3828436#Comment_3828436

Last I checked, survivors have an almost even split of 21 males to 23 females, give or take a few. And there are more male killers than female but many of those male killers are licensed from other properties and thus are not up to BHVR to decide what sex they are.

Also, everyone gets angry at every killer when they lose. People will get salty at Trapper, Wraith, and Doctor. You're also conveniently leaving out Blight.

Using misogyny as a shield to rebuff criticisms of Nurse is ridiculous.

I meant most survivors skins being played.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Please stop relying on stats like these. They don't mean anything.

They do. For who do you make a game ? The extreme minority "pro" scene or the majority of the player base, even at top 5% MMR ? Who generate revenue ? Who buys the skins ?
Nerfing nurse more will just hurt the new players, while butchering a fun and unique killer.

Please leave her alone. At this point it is just misogyny.

  • image.png

This was across all MMR. Nurse is not even close to the top (55%). For the majority of players, she is not a problem at all. She is just a "problem" for the veterans who refuse to learn how to play around her power.
Instead of wasting your time asking for nerfs, ask a good nurse to teach you.

It is funny because I have a way easier time destroying lobbies on Singularity than Nurse. Yet nobody complains about him, I wonder why. Maybe it is because all the survivors need to do to try to counter me is to pick an EMP, even if it’s not really effective. Not much effort compared to Nurse.

stats are the most unreliable BS source of data in this game and Nurse&Skull merchant are the glaring proof of that.

Skull merchant winrate was good. You are wrong.

    image.jpeg

TOP 5% Nurse was close to Pig, Pinhead, Oni, Wraith…She got nerfed since then (special attacks). Her skill floor is already hard to access if you nerf her more it is going to be even harder for new players.

  • @Caiman said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3828367#Comment_3828367

There is no way you're convincing anyone that Nurse is fine. No chance.

I don’t need to convince anyone. Wa have the stats and they don’t lie. Ton of them btw, low MMR, high MMR, everything.
You can still believe whatever you want by the end of the day, Nurse won’t be balanced by the extreme minority playing the pro scene. And even there, she is not broken.

  • Because like it or not, Nurse has one of the worse winrate. Plus her win rate at high MMR is not that good. Just check all the official stats the dev gave us.

Sure, there is one good content creator with more than 8000h on her, and pro scene experience destroying public lobbies with her but does that mean for the majority of the player base she is crazy broken ? No.

She was already nerfed by the fact that her attacks are now special so please leave her alone.

  • @Ayodam said:

Alternate take: you’ve done nothing extraordinary. The experience you’ve shared merely demonstrates that game favors your preferred role so much that you can play on autopilot and still cheese a win.

    Girl you are so salty.

  • Singularity and Sadako are the more balanced killers in the game giving survivors actually something pro active to do in order to win the game instead of sitting on gens.

  • Zenshin will never go past the PTB thanks to the survivor mafia.

  • You can do gens, you are not held hostage.

  • Lmao, that deerstalker + knock out Wraith is a king. These niche builds make the game fun for me, as killer or survivor. I would rather go against that instead of the boring gen regression meta.

Yeah but you dont even have to waste time to heal yourself to 25% either. You just pass by and heal passively, which hurts time management in the match. You do realize the actions survivors do, especcially healing are supposed to have a cost right? that cost is time. Thats why against some killers healing is crucial (oni for example) while you shouldnt heal against others (legion or plague) because against killers like legion or plague you will waste way too mutch time cleansing/healing.

That cost is obviously the time blessing.
The goal of these buffs is to make more reliable what you get in return of wasting time blessing instead of niche scenarios.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Probably. And don't take this the wrong way if you're not super competitive yet, but I'd say every killer is a waste of money. They have no viability at the top.

I see DBD as a party game. MMR is hidden, no ladder, no reward for sweating.
This perk seemed fun but because it’s probably going to be nerfed to the ground I am keeping my money.
And to everyone saying "don’t play meta" lol it’s not even about meta. Try having fun with trash perks only useful in super niche scenarios. You won’t.

Survivors dont have any capability to control where totems spawn, and killers can snuff the totems the moment they hear any sound.

So yeah, pretty good comparison, especially since items are literally unlimited. Survivors have to pick them up, just like killers have to snuff

There are 4 survivors for 1 killer. Each time the killer waste time to snuff a boon, the survivor gets value, not the other way around.

  • I think you need to do the tutorial before unlocking multiplayer. That’s what I had to do but maybere there is another explanation.

  • OP is right about the fact that stealth is strong and A LOT of survivors don’t even try to use it.
But at the same, if your whole team is death hook, the best action is taking some heat for them.

Except if you have a build for rushing hatch / exit doors.

‹ 1 2 3 … 20
