  • I only play when it's something I want to unlock like halloween event for the free cosmetic for one of my fave survivors or if I like an outfit in the rift; hop on and play to unlock it, and then hop right off.

So those breaks in between is really nice; I don't play day in and day out, and if it's nothing I want to unlock in the rift or such then I just don't play.

soloQ is a hell, even though i do my best to make good decisions, we lose often because my team usually play utterly bad.

When i'm in SWF, we win very often tho

This is my experience too; solo/duos/trios? HELL, but Full 4 SWF? win most of our matches.

  • I'm having this issue as well!! I hope they fix it before the bundle is gone.

Sounds like normal tunneling and camping? As long as he didn't do that because of the person you are, but only because he chose you randomly that's a perfectly legimate thing to do. Dbd itself doesn't have rules against tunneling and camping.

In that case it didn't seem to work out, but in general that's a senseful thing to do from his point of view. There no reason to spread hooks if you're able to kill someone quick enough, otherwise this happens and you lose even more xD

He let everyone else finish gens and escape, he stood there and watched them do the gens, I'm not speaking of normal tunneling and camping.

I wish there was an easier way to report players, especially on console as I’ve noticed on PC you can report on the end game screen and type a message, but it doesn’t give console players the option to type anything.

In order to report somebody I have to report them on the end game screen, save a video of what exactly I’m reporting them for, upload that video to YT and then file a ticket with their support team where it gives me the option to link my video.

I’ve actually had a lot of players over the years who I could and probably should have reported because they were cheating or using exploits and I didn’t because of how time consuming it felt when all you want to do is play the game.

I highly agreed!! I hope something is implemented down the line for the health of the game.

  • What I wonder is how they'll ID someone giving up vs someone who just isn't good at the game.

    Example: Running towards the killer.

I've had survivors run towards me not knowing I'm there and getting downed, I have friends who aren't good at looping run right into the killer. I feel unless the game will get an in-game recorder (to review playback) like Overwatch 2 or Fortnite, I'm a little worried of the accuracy of the system.

I think you're both correct, but I believe this is an inherent problem of a Asym game, that I cant really see a way for it not to exist. It is a team of survivors vs a killer, and let's REALLY think about that for a second...

In any team game, you are by definition dependent upon your teammates; that's what makes it a team game. If you are on the worse team, then you should lose, and this is very common (in fact its the status quo) for every team game in existence... the team.that plays the worst, tends to lose...

Now you can have individual players who may be better or worse, but generally speaking the team with the best teamwork should win... so lets explore some team games...

A game like Counter Strike is high on individual skill, where a single great player can clutch rounds for their team and beat 5 players single handed... this means that it's possible, and not even uncommon to see 5 players who have good teamwork lose many rounds to a team with 4 poor players and 1 amazing player... however for the most part strong teamwork can and should keep up.

A game like Team Fortress 2 on the other hand, while still having a lot of individual skill, ultimately it's greater teamwork that wins most of the time. You might be a truly unbelievable Soldier, and a decent Pyro/Scout shutting you down and protecting their Medics and Snipers still have a good shot of beating you.

So what point am I making? Well in an asym like DBD, we aren't pitting teamwork vs. teamwork, we are pitting teamwork vs. a single player. That means the "teamwork" of the killer is always perfect, whereas as a survivor your ability to win is dependent upon the skill of your team. If you as a survivor are not very dependent on your teammates, it means that you are appropriately powerful to take the killer on 1vs1.

Since this game is 4vs1, then this must lead to a scenario where Survivors are overpowered, because if every survivor can effectively 1vs1 the killer consistently and not be in a hopeless game because 1 survivor threw the game hard, the killer is outnumbered and should most of the time lose... as such the balance has to be skewed so that the killer is stronger in the 1vs1, and by proxy it therefore must, by design, be extremely punishing for survivors if they make a mistake.

This isn't an example of favouritism towards killers, this is an inherent quality of an asym... Ultimately Survivors are pitting their ability to work as a team vs. the killers ability to catch them individually quickly and put survivors in difficult to coordinate positions... I don't really see a way you can make it so that survivors aren't dependent on each other, and aren't punished very hard for mistakes, without making it so that the game is heavily survivor sided.

ALL of this cause I feel many players of this game forget this aspect.

"How can dbd be balanced???" it can't LOL, it's literally 4v1, that alone is unbalanced, it's literally an ASYM.

  • Sadly… until it's true major pushback from the community, I doubt we'll see it.

People would have to vote with their dollars and I don't see that collectively happening which would be most effective.

  • I literally said "GG WP <3 Michael Myers hooked Baby girl David" and it censored the names LOL, the names of the actual characters!

I aint try hardin and doin just fine thank you

    -Sincerely, a Trickster player

I play Trickster too and do the same, you preaching to the choir, but I also play Nurse and if you want easy mode? Nurse or Blight, I have to mind game/play around loops which takes more than just blink blink hit or bounce bounce hit.

  • Other killers aren't viable and even if they are it's easier to just run a killer with a good basekit versus struggle with a killer that requires super try-harding.

  • I mean paired together they both are super strong; just use your dead hard for the endurance when you need it and boom, now you're in deep wound with your 3% speed boost with made for this.

And why just don't do "back in the match" function? Some of my friends lose their connection pretty often and nothing they can do to back into the match because of 3 seconds internet connection loss.

This would be a helpful feature!! Cause we can take the place we've lost which was filled by a bot!! I'd love to see better features implemented like this.

Listen up nowhere to hide is for terrible killers. Like you cant find survivors so you use the perk and it plays the game for you like it is op no cooldown nothing you just kick gens and see all survivors like crazy to me if survivors had a perk like work on gen for 5 secs to see killer for 5 secs and keep regetting on the gen killer mains would be going crazy.

Aside from Nurse; I don't see how this perk is op for other killers… maybe Blight and Wesker, definitely need to be someone with high mobility to be broken (imo).

Other than that, hiding 2in within a gen isn't a good habit to make anyway.

  • I mean Dredge is really the only "scary" killer in the game; jumpscares are easy to get on any killer if you just bring perks to remove terror radius but we need more genuinely scary killers.

  • I felt this; I'm 26 and I don't feel comfy gaming with anyone under 18 or teen period; so finding other gamers who are 21+ AND LGBTQ+ (Safe space for others like myself) is a yess!!

Me and my friends game (we're 21+ and all apart of the rainbow community lol), you're welcome to join!!

  • I feel it'll be a nerf (I just don't have much faith in them doing the right thing cause I don't see any need to nerf these killers) but I feel they'll nerf them because they are monsters to solo queue but fall apart quick to SWFs.

Just don't cleanse against Plague (easy to do as a SWF with comms) and just stay on top of the box against Pinhead (hard to do without comms) so they'll most likely nerf to make them easy against solo queue.

Most players play sweaty, nothing new.

Today I had Blight that was surprised, when I wrote to him "gg, gl", poor guy couldn't wrap his head around me wanting him to have a good luck. I wonder how long it was since he has seen some nice message.

If you actually try to have fun game, it can be done. But you can't get it by only not playing meta perks as call it chill, not like killer can see it.
When I go for roleplays, killers often play along. But you have to actively do some silly action in front of the killer, which can backfire…

This is so strange cause same; like my goodness folk that nasty in this community?? (I know it's not all thankfully but too many).

I'll say "GG WP <3" and I've had folk legit message me separately in steam about how kind/appreciative they were.

  • @Nazzzak said:

Oh absolutely. Competitive folk don't like when their opponents energy matches their own. That doesn't feed the ego. When those folk say they want a separate competitive mode, what they mean is they want their competitive opponents to use that mode. They certainly won't.

This is why I feel they hate skill based match making; I've heard many cries of "it'll put me against good survivors!" and I'm like… if you're playing good/pub stomping then you need to go against survivors who are within your skill range/bracket, they (for the most part) don't want that.

Why is her kill rate so low then?

If she's so easy to play well, and so OP, why does she not have the highest pick rate and highest kill rate?

Stats don't lie, most people cannot play Nurse.

But that doesn't excuse it neither; "well yeah she's broken but only by the top 5 players who know how to play her!" LOL broken is broken. I just feel nothing in game helps against her, pallets = easy hit, flash light doesn't burn anymore, most perks don't affect her such as sprint burst/dead hard/etc.

  • @frozzenk said:

Why is every killer subject to balance changes, nerfs, buffs, etc. and then they allow Nurse to live completely outside of this reality? It's like she is in her own game or something, separate from everyone else.

She is absolutely ridiculously overpowered, there is NOTHING you can do to counter her, and nobody seems to care. Nobody asks for nerfs. The devs don't bother. It's like a criminal who everyone knows is robbing people but the police turn a blind eye.

    WHY?!

As a Nurse main; I agree.

There is nothing, and I'm speaking as someone who main her, there is nothing you can do against a good nurse; and don't even bring in aura reading perks.

Given the reactions I saw, I wouldn't be surprised if Gabriel's was the next most popular option. But sadly there was a submission for Sable so she got guaranteed first place and knocked everyone else down.

Now no shade but when can we get more flavor for the goth girls? Cause Sable and Mikaela lowkey the same character; and they need to start spreading the love more to other characters.

It shows that Vittorio was made for as a thirst trap from day 1. His lore is secondary.

Gabe, on the other side, got the Haddie treatment: cosmetics that would make sense for him to wear, making his lore the first concern when designing him. The result is just a ton of same-y cosmetics.

The sad part? There was community skin for Gabe that I think looked awesome, but Jake won instead.

Right!! I mean him releasing day 1 with shirtless (I am a lover of Vittorio but let's call a spade, a spade) and I love Jake Park too so it was bittersweet.

  • Also WoO is really helpful for bridging the gap between solo-queue and SWF; it's not a miracle bridge but a bridge nonetheless; I can easily tell my friends on discord call "Hey the pallets on this side of the map are almost gone; try to bring the killer to this area instead" whereas I can't do that off in solo-que so knowing where pallets (WoO) to know if your team used it/etc is VERY helpful to solo-queue.

Shouldn't be nerfed; I feel folk want it nerfed cause it bridges that gap, many already want to be able to dodge SWFs so they do NOT want solo-queue getting closer to SWF's potential strength in communication/planning/resourcefulness.

  • They (Behaviour) should implement harsher blocking measures because the targeted harassment in the game can be a bit much.

  • @Grigerbest said:

    Hi.

As you guys all know about the game rules of DBD (Tho you should check all game rules before playing any game), there is nothing in the game rules about "Survivors DC penalty avoiding" (purposely killing themselves on hook).

You can check here - https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/139-game-rules

    It simply states this:

ABOUT DISCONNECTS BANS - DO NOT REPORT

Disconnections are penalized automatically by the disconnection penalty system. Please do not report people for disconnecting; no further action will be taken on these reports.

It's clear that "Killing yourself on hook to prevent the penalty and move on to the next match" should be a part of a Unsportsmanlike conduct, should be reportable, and should end up in a temporary ban if it's done on a regular basis, in terms of "Rage quitting".

Now let's move to the (imo) basic question - why? Or why it should be considered as unsportsmanlike conduct?

If some of you ever played ANY MOBA games like Dota 2, League, Smite, Overwatch 2, etc... You will find the same caterogy, but it might use a different words. Basically - Regular DC's from a match (or rage quitting), Griefing (standing afk, feeding your opponents, Interfering with your teammates game) will result in a temporary ban, which can go longer and longer after relapse.

Why DBD falls in the same category:

Aside from a killer gameplay. Survivor's gameplay unites a Team play or Working as a team. This makes the simple statement about this: By leaving a match (or feeding your opponents and etc), you as a player make the overall expirience from a match worse for other players, that you're playing with. And it should be cought by reporting this player's behaviour.

After recieving enough reports, a player who constantly violating the TOS, should end up in a punishment.

The problem I'm having with all this:

Somehow, "Killing yourself on a hook" is not considered as a reason to report. Imo it should be considered as "Rage quit". It's clear to me that this kind of behaviour is ruining the overall Impression about the game. Especially for newer players.

"I brought this game so If I don't wanna play against a legion, I can freely leave a match" - This is imo, the most ridiculous, selfish and unaware excuse that I sometimes see people bringing in this types of topics, I suppose that never played any MOBA games before, or have no morals and sympathy for any game's matches.

"We have bots now taking over a player, so it should be ok to DC from a match" - As ridiculous as previous one, the game like HotS (Heroes of the Storm), there were the same "bot replacement" but the players were still getting banned for leaving the games. Personally I think the bots are not treating the problem, even for killers. (At least right now)

This behaviour is unacceptable. You can not defend it by any means.

In my opinion, a player can freely leave (DC) from a match only with a few basic reasons:

    1. (Obviously) Playing against or with a cheater, that prevents players from completing a match.
    2. Killer (somehow) blocking in the obstacles 2 last survivors with gates are closed. Holding them hostage.
    3. Bugs and other circumstances that player can not control. (Getting stuck, killer's ability broke or gone and etc...)
    4. Server issues. That makes the match irritating to play without any control of a player. (Everyone in a match having high ping, server disconnects)

In any way, Mod's opinions are more relevant. Since they more educated in a game's TOS. But I still want to read about your opinions on that topic guys, feel free to write from your hearts!❤️

Can the game even tell which death on hook is legit or someone miss-clicking? controller died? trying to 3% legit?

I mean does the DC penalty even know if it's because a survivor dc'ed on purpose or internet failure? Cause I've had many instances where my game crash/wifi goes out and it disconnects me but still give me a DC penalty on top of it.

  • @Raconteurminator said:

This change would stop tunnelling, primarily because no-one would want to play Killer. Essentially forcing 12-hook games without compensation for the other side wouldn't prove popular.

I can get 12 hooks without any issue... It's not hard to not tunnel, just chase who unhooked. If you just hooked Feng Min and she get unhooked and you see her again, go the other way and find someone else? I do this as Nurse ALL the time, it's not hard to do.

Why not both? I mean disabling their power won’t help against an m1 killer and it will only harm a killer like nurse with her base movement without her power (like yeah nurse is already an annoying killer but it’s not fair that DS will pretty much only work somewhat against nurse but not the other m1 killers with a normal base movement) so I say it’s better off with both cause it might help the survivor gain distance from the killer and if the survivor is going against a nurse or blight it should also guarantee that survivor is getting away with being tunneled cause nurse and blight are already out of their power

Agreed; Nurse/Spirit/Blight laugh at old decisive let alone new decisive.

  • @Ariel_Starshine said:

    Just make it unrewarding.

Or make it so 3vs1 isn't so much of a loss. Idk eventually tunnelers meet their match and can't do it anymore. That's when they rage and complain on here.

This is correctly but I've already stated how 4-man SWFs (who know how to play) can counter this but definitely not soloque players (for the most part).

One of the biggest issues with DBD is how killer players will pubstomp soloque and then when they do go against good SWFs get on here and complain about survivors being overpowered or broken.

Tunnelers definitely meet their match eventually but at what cost? After they've ruined many, many matches for soloque players?

Something should be done, now what is that exactly? I don't know cause this post was just a suggestion but hopefully DBD cook something up to help soloque teams whereas SWFs (who know what to do) don't have such issues.

i would consider gen-delay perks as essential, that is the problem. your not suppose to rely on perks. they're suppose to be optional choices where you can run gen defence but you don't need it to be competitive. that is something that they said in 6.1.0 that killer should not be required to run gen defence.

Guess what majority of killer are running? Gen defence.

Just recently we had Furtive Chase buffed to genuinely be usable, and before that I can recall Gearhead becoming a genuinely solid perk, among others.

Furtive chase is still not very good. Sure it went from F-tier perk to like usable c-tier perk but it is obsession perk that gives situational undetectable and situational speed. if they improved old design of the perk then it would be worthy of obsession status. Gearhead is suppose to be like discordance where you get dynamic information to gain information to bounce from one survivor to the next through hit & run. it went from perk that was F-tier to C-tier. it is usable but it is not that good.

Ultimate weapon and Nowhere to hide are solid recent perks. killers still have ways to go when it comes to gaining good stealth perks, instant down perks and strong chase perks. I guess for chase, there is coup the grace which is ok but then there is.... rapid brutality. I am still playing around with rapid but.... I just don't see much value out of it. the healthy survivor just seem to always make it to a loop which makes question what is the point of the perk? The speed boost alone seems to get them to any loop on the map. Until they provide more solid different options for killer, it is unlikely your going to be seeing any killer perk variety beyond gen defence. that is why i said that base-kit gen defence might be needed for killers to even attempt to change their builds along side buffs to different perks.

Killer players rely on them because they want easy wins not because they absolutely need them.

You don't NEED gen-delay perks. You don't NEED to tunnel. You don't NEED to camp.

Those who do it, do it because it's easier. It's easier to win if you immediately tunnel someone out and have 4 slow downs in your build.

But then Corrupt has already achieved its purpose... The survivors moved towards the smaller part of the map where the not corrupted gens are... So even though it is limited the perk did not really get that much weaker with the deactivation condition.

Corrupt can be a double edged sword against good survivors though cause it usually push them to the center gens which are the gens survivors should be doing first and save the outer gens that they usually spawn by for last to prevent 3 gens.

Doing the inner gens first so the last 3 are all spread in the farthest corners of the map is the BEST strat and sometimes corrupt will push survivors who don't know that to doing that inadvertently.

I've played in some matches with inexperienced teammates who did the inner gens cause corrupt blocked the farther ones and I'm like YESS that's what you're supposed to do all along to prevent 3 gens.

  • Agreed! At least revert the 7-second stun.

I can understand deactivating at end-game but why short stun that does little against regular killers and NOTHING against the top killers.

Honestly removing the blind would be a decent compromise. It doesn't solve the 4k slug problem ofc, but that would still be a reasonable change, since in theory survivors would have a better chance to keep each other alive at the least to avoid the 2 man end game....

Also in fairness the 2 man end game is pretty drawn out and annoying to resolve in the game anyway... If a killer slugs for the 4k, it will almost always result in the killer getting their 4k anyway... UW just makes it faster.

It also need to be tweaked with it's overpowered synergy with Dead Man's Switch; at least Pain Res/DMS combo requires a hook on a scourge hook.

  • @GensByDaylight said:

This broken killer has been left in DBD for 6 years, each nerf still allowing her to be the best killer in the game.

I've seen a lot of nerf Blight posts, but Nurse has been here for twice as long.

Nurse doesn't have any actual counterplay. Sure break LoS, she'll hit you with her second blink. It isn't even rewarding as she simply recovers in 5 or so seconds.

Nurse is much worse then Blight, so when is her nerf?

As a Nurse Main: Hot take but no killer should be UNBEATABLE if the player know how to play them; a game where you'll always win just isn't balanced and a Skilled Nurse can literally get 500+ win streaks even AFTER nerfs.

I think a good rework would be to make her another Oni; where her power is super charged (blink hits/etc) during the timed period and then she becomes a regular M1 killer with a Blink Ability (1 blink) and then 3 blinks when in special time.

  • Killers are tunneling even more and proxy camping even more.

Items in general never seem to run out.

There's a ton more I can add. The game is definitely tipped in favor of survivors right now.

And you want to nerf a niche build lol

Please it's literally autopilot for killer these days.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

What is it always with Feng getting everything?

    Simply because she's popular.

    It's a bit of a vicious cycle:

a survivor is popular --> developers release lots of cosmetics for them because it's lucrative --> people are drawn to play the survivor because they have good cosmetic options --> that survivor becomes even more popular --> and so on.

The opposite is true for the relatively unpopular characters (like Haddie, Jeff, Jonah etc.)::

a survivor is unpopular --> very few cosmetics are released because they don't sell well --> people are put off playing the survivor because the customisation options are poor --> that survivor becomes even less popular --> and so on.

Didn't they say they were working against that? I've noticed they released more and more Haddie cosmetics cause people demanded it.

Feng may be the most popular but she ain't the only character; I personally don't play her and it's cool for those who do to get cosmetics/charms but spread the love to other characters too.

  • @Alen_Starkly said:

Let's be honest, really good nurses can easily get you with just 1 blink, while you're in chase. Them having a 2nd blink as a backup feels too much to me. It's EZ mode with hack, in a way.

I hate facing a really good nurse, there is almost nothing I can do against her. Sometimes I can avoid the 1st blink by juking her, which feels really good, and then I inevitably get hit by her 2nd blink, which allows her to correct any mistakes. 2nd blinks are a fullproof way of a nurse securing a loss of health state for a survivor. Since she is a killer that completely ignores walls, pallets and windows, this is really unfair.

I love facing nurses on my level, because I can do something against them. I can actually juke, and have chases that last for longer than 5 seconds (the same applies to my teammates). Even if I end up dying, I still feel quite good, because I was able to dodge hits by juking her. On the contrary, being unable to do anything against a god nurse feels awful, and is just a proof of a bad killer design.

Of course, even those nurses that are on my level can get better, but then they're on a god level and are unfair and unfun to go against.

I honestly feel that limiting Nurse to a 1 blink max (no addons being able to increase this) would be a huge balancing help against this killer. Great nurses playing with 2 blinks is like a child's playground for them. Having only 1 blink would actually add some challenge to them, as well as offer counterplay for us against them.

I feel like if there would be any compensation for the removal of 1 blink, that could be an extended lunge range after a blink, as basekit.

You have to be running in a STRAIGHT line to be hit by Nurse with a single blink in chase (for the most part).

Please do abuse slugging. It'll just lead to another basekit change to prevent excessive slugging if killer mains are obnoxious enough about it.

Exactly! It's wild that they don't see the seeds they are trying to sow..

The future you are waiting for. Closer than you think. At the moment, some of us are already starting to test games without hooks. The results are beyond all expectations. It’s been a long time since I saved so much time doing useless carrying to the hooks.

You're literally begging for them to implement a basekit unbreakable...

I can see it now... All 4 survivors downed? or 3 downed and 1 hooked? Unbreakable can activate.

Also knockout will be nerfed SO fast.

Play the game not rely on broken perks/strats.

Well if SWF will get yet another base kit perk (btw in a all honesty, I don't really like the new anti-camp mechanic since there's a way around it but that not the main topic).

Since there's now having BT and Adam's perk as base kit, why not give killer a base kit as well, like shadowborn or a perk similar to that nature?

I'd love Shadowborn to be in game settings as a slider for Killers aside from perks.

    It's basic accessibility option.

However the rest? Eh... this is to help prevent camping not a tit for tat for survivor vs killer.

Myers: Add a toned down version of Scratch Mirror's aura reading to his basekit.

If you want to be generous, give him the ability to sacrifice a small amount of his time in tier three to remove his terror radius. Rework his insta-kill add-ons to be balanced around his new strengths.

Freddy: Freddy can now teleport to his Snares. Dream Pallets when dropped, leave the survivor blind and oblivious.

    Nurse: Anxious Gasp becomes basekit.

Hag: Hag goes on vacation and never comes back.

Pig: Faster movment speed when in stealth. I've always wanted to see a Pig ice-skating.

Anxious Gasp being base kit would be so fun!! That's a fun idea that isn't too broken/overpowered but definitely elevates her creep factor.

  • Nurse; she's the only killer that I feel is truly based on my skills as a player, other killers get ruined by RNG/map design/perks/add-ons/etc but If I lose as Nurse then I know I was just simply outplayed whereas losing as Trapper is usually cause the maps are not in his favor/meta perks/and not due to my skill as trapper.
