Oh you want a single prestige? play 10 matches
You shouldn't forget new players have exactly 0 cakes. so it's not 10 matches at all.
You might get close to it as killer with cakes, but you won't get anywhere near close as survivor.

Well the amounth of info you need in 10 years old game is huge like look at games like rainbow six there is ton of stuf through years which puts new players automaticaly in bad spotand its not only DBD thing.
Old games with huge pile of stuff and lack of ways to obtain some of that stuff other than money (lot of money) which forsnt hrlp either.
Sure, like I play both R6S and Dota, which are both really bad with how much information you need to know.
But Dota basically has 0 grind and R6S has quite low grind, you unlock characters quite quickly even without spending money and unlocking gives you everything you need to play.
DBD is exact opposite, where in order to "progress" in the game, you have to put huge amount of money and time. DBD has kinda unique grind, which is mandatory and can't be skipped.

My sisters 7 year old daughter wanted to try the game according to my sister. I nearly laughed until i once came over to find her playing a match of Ghostface, and winning. and even adults sometimes struggle to play the game. and it really is terrible, i play the game because ive spent money on it and i at least want a single P100 before i maybe quit. This game makes me downright miserable, but yet i still play it
I don't think gameplay loop is bad in general in this game, sure you have to learn a lot, but that's not unique to DBD.
My main issue while I would refuse to start again is simply the amount of money and time you need to put into DBD just so can play what you want.
Fact that I need to pay DLC and also put BP into someone I don't ever want to play just to gain his perks seem ridiculous to me.
I think tier 1 perks should unlock on other characters as soon you buy the character, so I can technically unlock the perks by putting BP only to characters I want to play. (T2, T3 would be under prestige as it is)
Overall BP gain is just bad, rewards for quests are joke. The amount you need for new players is getting bigger and bigger.
If the game can keep players only be creating endless grind, it's not a good game. -
"Run while you still can"
When I found out my sister wanted to start playing DBD, I advised her not to do it.
This game is just terrible for new players. If I lost my account, there is no way I would do it again. -
Probably my most hated killer.
After his changes, I am willing to play about one, or two game seriously per session. After it, I just don't care and go next.As someone else stated, it's possible to escape Kaneki, but it's not going to be fun.
I don't remember single game with Kaneki, which I would enjoy.Sadly because of Blight nerfs, there are even more Kaneki players.
-
Both sides are boosted by perks, that's kinda whole point of perks….
You think killers would have their kill rates anywhere near close to current values, if we removed slowdown perks for them? Hell no

the change is unnoticable and wont affect chase much. hatchets will still hit you, axes, xeno tail. everything will still hit you the same bcs they attack WHILE you're dropping. not after. and I use windows to connect different tiles cuz even after 800 hours i can't remember every tile connection or remember if some pallets have been used since i dont have aura read on my build so even have the capability of remembering where my friends have been looping and which pallets they have used
Well, that's about preference.
Seeing pallets in my area is enough for me and saves time, because before I would do it myself and always find pallet/window around the gen I am going to work on, now I don't have it.I have stopped playing WoO on purpose, simply because I didn't enjoy to chase with it. It was boring for me.
Nothing wrong with people running it, it's just subjective.Five moves is perfect merge for me, I get told where to run start of the chase, but rest of the chase I have to work out myself again.
I think you underestimate pallet recovery, sure it won't always save you from projectiles, but it will definetly give you better chance at avoiding it.
Ultimately it's used best for predrops, where ranged killers won't always prepare their attack on time, or you can just continue running to keep more distance against other killers.Against killers like Bubba/Billy extra distance can often make you reach loop you otherwise wouldn't.
Getting mind game to pallet drop can help you avoid the hit, because you start moving/vault faster than killer expects. It's not big effect like Finesse, but it's also not irrelevant, so just for that I would put it above WoO.

Check offerings, see a hidden one and assume hatch shack and then check main if hatch isn't there (and I would be fine if offerings, overall or just hatch, were removed). You have every advantage in the hatch race. It is only faster to slug the third survivor if you currently know where the last survivor is but that scenario is rarer than not knowing. Survivors cannot be entitled when its something the killer is choosing, its the killer feeling entitled to a 4k after they have already won. The killer isn't forced to participate they are literally choosing how the endgame goes and intentionally preventing an intended game mechanic.
In a 2v1 I do in fact continue to work on gens and try to pick up my slugged teammate if I can. I don't expect to escape but its entitled to think I should just give them the 4k for free. It exceptionally rarely results in a 2 out but it does happen, but sure those killers that struggle or lose in the 2v1 definitely deserved the 4k (and still typically get the 4k because the scenario is wildly unbalanced in their favor). I got No Mither in chaos shuffle a while back against a killer that struggled to down me. The killer still refused to hook me in the 2v1 to the point of me picking myself and my teammate up multiple times. The killer even dropped chase with me multiple times during the 2v1 so they could check on the gen my teammate was trying to work on. They finally relented and hooked my teammate and I got a much deserved hatch. The notion of it just being a survivor "greedy for a free escape" is ridiculous, the killer regularly doesn't deserve the 4k but typically they get it anyway.
Check offerings, see a hidden one and assume hatch shack and then check main if hatch isn't there
What if I down survivor on other side of the map and I know it's impossible to get in shack on time?
You don't have every advantage in the hatch race, when survivor can be waiting at finish line and even if you win, you have to win another race.
So by playing into this, you have to win normal game, hatch game and gate game.I personally don't care about 4k and just go afk after the third kill, simply because I can't be bothered to deal with hatch/gate part of the game. Asking killers to do it willingly seems entitled to me.
Whenever I need 4k for challenge, or something. I am going to slug for it, because it's simply better in every way. -

The difference is that each hook stage only lasts 60 seconds, and the hook actually progresses the game towards its end.
Being slugged lasts 4 minutes, and you literally can't do anything but crawl. You are forced to not play for 4 minutes. On the hook, you can at least attempt to escape or miss skill checks to sacrifice yourself and next out of a toxic match. When slugged, you don't even have the choice to die faster, and if you leave the match, you get a matchmaking penalty—unless everyone is already dead or downed.
Besides, slugging stalls the game completely. Rescuing someone who is slugged can be suicide because survivors don't get a base-kit Endurance (borrowed time) effect when picked up from the ground. The killer can just instantly redown them. You are quite literally a textbook hostage if the killer decides to play that way.
So wouldn't your issue be fixed if we just reduce slug timer?

It's dumb gameplay regardless of side.
If the killer slugs the 3rd survivor to hunt down the 4th, they're being selfish.
Basically telling the 4th survivor, "Give up or waste 2 minutes of your ally's time, because I have now shown I don't care about that."
And now the 4th survivor needs to meet their demands and just give up or also be selfish and try to hide.
It's "dumb" gameplay securing a kill, but it's abolutely reasonable to force killer into rolling dice (which is often rigged with offering) on hatch and even if you win you have to try protect exit gates, which is not really fun gameplay either and another RNG aspect.
For killer it's better and often faster to just slug third survivor. Seems entitled to ask them to do otherwise.
As survivor you don't have to participate in this and can end this at any point, so I fail to see why killer should be forced to participate either.
For all I care they can extend abandon feature, so last two survivors can abandon if one of them is on ground, then you have nothing to complain about unless you are in reality just greedy for free escape. If time is your issue, this fix it. -
If you find it boring just run to the killer and let him down you for quick abandon.
You act like it means nothing to escape with hatch, yet you want it so bad…
-
I wish she would get some legendary skill that will make her actually look good…
Something like Were-elk skin for her and change dog to wolf, that would be sick.Otherwise definetly needs tons of bugfixing and Snug's pull is sometimes hilariously bad. I had many times where he was pulling away from me for some reason (there wasn't even pallet between us).
I don't even need to pull them towards me much, more like at least keep them in place properly.Overall using her power can be very fun with high skill ceiling, I love to try flicks with her. But I really don't like her overall estetics and she is very buggy…
She is definetly my number one disappointing chapter. I was so hyped for doggy as power just to get this… -

Thats addon issue Idk why they dodnt locked bam effect on third leal or make it timed like 20 seconds after injuring with leap or something but basekit ghoul can be managed very easily without it with revault tech.
any killer basekit is managed easily, some borderline useless. Basekit Blight is easy to deal with, but almost all of them run double speed, or iri addons, so it doesn't reflect reality.
Billy, or Bubba are very weak against windows basekit, that's why all of them use Bamboozle to remove that weakness, or they are asking for bad time…
When I will be giving advice how to play against Billy, I am not even going to mention abusing windows, simply because it's unlikely to be an available option. Instead I will advice to try predict Bamboozle plays and just run for free distance.
Giving advice to survivors revault against Kaneki on window is going to kill them instead.

You know you can vault back through ghoul when he is using his leap to vault pallets or even window? Or you can do it after he vaults because he has no hitbox as wesker has now its harder on timing but works too. So his antiloop is without mobility temu wesker like.
or even window?
In theory yes, in practice not. I have yet to play against Ghoul without Bamboozle, or the addon for it.
-
I wouldn't say so, I have like 15-20 games on Ghoul for some challenges/achievements and thing is I am Legion main. So I can quite easily see the difference in efficiency and difficulty between those two. Ghoul skill floor is very low and you will get good results even with the most basic use of his power.
Just injure survivor, close the gab and play M1 in loops (or just down them with his low fatigue). Super easy and you are already way above Legion.
Against Legion you can quite easily prevent him from using his power, you can't really do that with Ghoul when distance doesn't exist for him and he can walk in his power for 2 business days.
Even if you suck at using his power in loops, just the ability to easily get nearby survivor makes him so much stronger, easier and less punishing to play as.
But if you learn how to use his power in loops, suddenly even shack and other safe loops are not really an issue for him. -
I would say he is way easier to play when you can just hold the button and make camera "find" you a survivor.
He is still more difficult to play than most killers, but nowhere near as bad compared to his release.Kinda an issue is he is noob stompy killer, you need to coordinate quite a lot to deal with good singularity.
But overall I would say he is in quite a good spot. -
It's more like unhook animation shouldn't stop you from unhooking. Would be kinda boring, if we couldn't dance on the hook…
This reminds me I will have to start doing this, when someone wants to unhook me early in front of the killer.
-
Ghoul and it's not even close for me.
My issue is mostly low skill floor with high efficiency.I had games where we escaped against Ghoul, but so far I didn't have a single game, where I had fun playing against him.
I will take Blight, Nurse, Billy, Henry, Wesker or Dracula any day over Ghoul. -
I consider Five moves ahead better than WoO already, if you know maps a bit at least.
I really don't need to see constant hold W guidence for my chases, nor I want to. I really like the fact it works only in TR and is limited with CD.
The faster recovery from dropping makes it actually good chase perk. If you stun killer with this perk, they can as well drop the chase. -
Yeah, I can't believe a skin could disappoint me twice.
- it's on trapper
- it's just a normal skin (without mori/voice/TR)
I was so hyped when I have seen it, but I am really not buying that.
-
Yeah, 2v8 focus is currently on fun of survivors, I doubt SB will ever get nerfed unless queue times change.
-
All these buffed killers
All those buffs that didn't change anything for those killers… (I guess except Wesker)
Have really anyone expected to see Doctor, or Ghostface with those changes?
-
Well, he was definetly one of the worst killers in 2v8 before, so buffing him is good, he is still not anywhere near top.
Buff Ghostface next please.
-
I like to play against Nurse, she has unique chase, but definetly not without a counterplay and her missplay potencial is huge.
I would say she is not really best killer you can bring in 2v8 anyway unlike 1v4.
-
Yeah, I really don't like them. I was looking through settings hoping I can turn it off, but sadly failed.

Bro same that was the worst part we could have had Eren punching the crap outta people
That would be sick, if he had cool mori animation, I would actually be considering bying him even when it's trapper…
But this is just overpriced as it is…
-
1 fast tracked was not an issue, 4 fast tracks was huge issue
This type of trigger is simply problematic on survivors with how easy is to stack it. I think change to the trigger was good, but % should be higher imo.
You just can't have triggers in type of "whenever something happens on map" for survivors, because it's impossible to balance.
You know how broken Inner healing would be if it was "whenever totem is cleansed" as Secret Project has it.On killers you need to balance perk for 1 player and you just have to deal with classic Nurse vs Trapper problem.
On survivors you can't balance global effect when survivors can you use it once, or 4 times. You do it by making it personal trigger, so it becomes more limited resource.Only other way is to simply make the effect weak….

I think 5% is fine. Previously you were getting 6% but it was effectively 18% since it was triggering for all survivors rather than just 1. Brand New Parts are 10%, but are single use. This perk can effectively be used up to 6 times (or 8 times for the entire team).
Previously you were getting 6% and you didn't have to do anything for it, so it giving less while you have to be the one unhook doesn't make sense to me.
I would expect value to be at least same, or slightly higher.BNP is addon, perk should be stronger imo. 6 is just not really realistic. You will be able to get 2/3 in most of your games, if you actually try to go for unhooks.
I think it would still be pretty save to give this like 7-8% per token.
-
I definetly prefer it to work only when you unhook rather than whenever, simply because that's way less likely to go out of control.
but 5% seems just low for this.
-
I am really disappointed he didn't get custom mori…

Ghoul no longer has so great antiloop potencial with his revualt becuase firstly theres no hitbox on it so unlike wesker he cant injure survivor sho is staying behind pallet he is vaulting and secondly now you can freerly vault back through him when he is vaulting pallet.
This change was hidden in trickster patch in bugfixes even when its actual nerf of his basekit power and feature that was meant to work like that and kinda makes me wonder why devs hid so drastic change into bugfix text instead put it into ner/buff part of patch notes.
These changes make ghoul much weaker in antiloop he can now just injure you fast and move around map but his revault is just like vecnas flight revualt in terms of usibility in chase so no longer theres situation where he just vaults and you go down, now its on you as survivor because when you see him pull his power up and go for vault and you arent super far from pallet/window yo ucan revualt through him and theres nothing he can do to stop it.
Patch 9.5.0
- Nerf: Removed The Ghoul's automatic hit detection system after performing a Leap Vault.
- Quality of Life: Reduced the Reticle's stickiness effect on Survivors not holding a Kagune Mark from 0.18 seconds to 0.05 seconds.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bn4D9X_GnQA
at 4:50 its meantioned
you arent super far from pallet/window
Let's be honest, it works only for pallets. I have yet to see Ghoul without Bamboozle/addon.
-
That's really just skill issue at this point.
- removed hook grabs
- better basekit unhook protection
- longer time on hook
- killer can't stay nearby for long
Killer simply can't just camp as primary strategy anymore, you will lose every game unless survivors decide to complete every challenge in the game during that time instead of doing gens.
-
Lockers are kinda complicated issue against Artist. I think she would suddenly become too strong, if you couldn't use lockers to remove her crows.
When I play Artist against survivors who don't use lockers (either skill issue, or map with bad locker spawns), she is very oppresive. Especially if you use Severed Hands and some aura reading.
But when you get group where everyone will use lockers instead of repelling crows, then Artist suddenly has 0 map presence and is not that really that strong killer…. -
-rework lunge addon
-make her unable to see survivor's aura while charging blink
-fix the issue you can't stun her during her fatigue -
Is he broken in terms of power level? No, he is definetly weaker than Nurse, or Blight
Do I want to play against him ever again? Also no, I will take Blight, or Nurse anyday over him -
Would be interesting if you could throw it as you could snowballs in event.

i could ask the same thing for wesker how can he vault mid dash, but the ghoul vault is weaker compared to wesker one because wesker can hit survivors who are nearby trying to vault back meanwhile ghoul cant but i think its pretty healthy nerf ngl but make his collisions long so the survivors can vault back without timing it that the one im talking about but every other thing is pretty good and wesker is fine balanced killer because it make sense to hit survivors and kankei make sense to not hit.
You can ignore Wesker's vault damage too with timing. Same as you were able to do it against Ghoul before.
You usually don't see revault against Wesker, because you simply don't need it. Wesker's vault is just way slower overall.Especially used on windows, Ghoul's vault is way stronger than Wesker has.
-
Revault is only thing that makes me willing to bother playing against Ghoul. At least 1-2 games per session.
I don't get why he has vault in first place, but it is what it is. He shouldn't have better vault than Legion, yet alone Wesker.

As I said, almost all upper floor windows have a Drop nearby which the Killer can take without vaulting the window. The problem always were windows which needed to be vaulted by the Killer, but this is almost non-existent anymore.
this is almost non-existent anymore
I can think of Garden of Joy and Ormond
To smaller extent Toba Landing
Also drops where you can vault after it are on Swamp and Coal towerMaybe some more, but I would have to think about it…

Would be less of an issue now with map offerings gone, but could still create situation, where survivor in that area is near unkillable within reasonable timeframe.
It would nearly be no issue nowadays. Since most Windows feature Drops nearby, so the Killer will almost never have to vault the Window. So it is highly unlikely that the Survivor can use said Window in chase more than once (with the initial Haste by BL).
The only Window which does not feature a Drop nearby is the one on the top of The Game. At least the only one I remember.
Any drop where is window next to it would become an issue again, so for example pier.
There was time, where survivors were using loops where you could drop and immediately vault inside and that was fixed by survivors not being able to vault while staggered from fall.
Well, you would be able to vault again, if BL removed the stagger.Rather not even talking about just question of time before devs create map similar to Haddonfield, where this would become an issue too.
-
@mecca said:
No such thing in a weak killer. All killers are winning a majority of the time which means they are too strong.
Issue of match making.
As soon you put equally skilled players against each other, many killers will struggle to do anything.
You can objectively see some killers have stronger kits than others, so it doesn't make sense both would be "strong". Either one is op and other strong, or one is strong and other weak…. -
we do balance in fact deny stagger after falling
It used to work like that, if I remember correctly and an issue was it easily created infinites, or close to that.
Would be less of an issue now with map offerings gone, but could still create situation, where survivor in that area is near unkillable within reasonable timeframe.I don't think perk is in bad spot overall, but what should be fixed is maps, where you are not able to activate it in first place.
Also fix the issue, where balance landing will activate on on some spots based on your FPS. -
@Anti051 said:
This isn't what being held hostage is, but I understand what you mean. There really should be a heavy incentive to go ahead and leave, especially if all 4 survivors are just hovering near the gate being complete wads about the entire thing.
Like…if they're all just sitting there, continuously not leaving, being total dicks, would it really be undeserved in the slightest if the killer came up, smacked one of them and the entity dropped perma blood warden?
would it really be undeserved in the slightest if the killer came up, smacked one of them
Would be kinda difficult to separate situations where survivors are trying to leave after unhooking, or just waiting there for killer whole time.
Even if make some timer for being inside the gate, they will just stand at start of the area instead, where most killers still can't do anything about it.
I usually just go AFK, if they want to wait for me, I will gladly waste their time as well.
-
Well, sadly Ghoul is really fun to play, so it makes sense there are many of them. I expect to see even more of them after Blight nerf…
With his revault I can tolerate few of games against him per session, but the limit is not high.He is definetly by far my pick for most annoying killer to play against, but the issue is kinda difficult to fix.
I don't want him to get Skullied tho, because he is fun to play as, so that's good start.Targeting his mobility is probably not good option, because that's kinda main thing why his is fun to play as and goal should be trying to keep that while making him more bearable to play against.
I think removing his mending could help a lot. The mechanic if he will bite or not can simply be tied to the enrage timer on survivor instead.
They can trade it for revert on his range or something. Maybe increase speed on his last jump.
That would need to be tested, but also increase enrage timer duration to offset the fact that decay will start immediately. -
Neither of those are issues. She simply wouldn't work without it.
Sure, go play her and use only one blink all game, that's going to be so much fun…Nerfing her lunge addon help, even tho I would rather see complete rework.
Last thing she would need now is to simply hide survivor aura while charging blink, so her counterplay is always viable. -
I wish cap wouldn't be per category but rather just cap total BP you can get per game, but it won't matter in which category.
There are simply games where you only get to chase/do gens and it doesn't really make sense to get punished for it with less BP.
-
The First is probably in my top 3 favorite killers to play against.
Probably my only issue is duration of Wordbreaker. Otherwise chasing him is quite fun for me.
-
I REALLY hope it's a bug and some styles didn't get uploaded.
-
I am really surprised most survivors are willing to play against Ghoul, while Skully was boycotted hard.
To me Ghoul is so much more annoying especially compared to the reworked version.I am willing to play 1-2 games a session against Ghoul, but that's about it. They are lucky revault wasn't removed, then games I would be playing against Ghoul become 0.
