- Can you imagine a collection of "urban and discreet style" skins? Like normal clothing items, colors like white, black, beige, gray... Parisian urban fashion style. I think it would sell like hotcakes. Today, the most basic skin has horns, wings, neon lights, and fireworks.🤣
lol, im not sure how the outfits got to where they are, but some of them. Well they can just go back to wherever they came from lmfao

They were all a cute novelty at first, but I consistently skip them now. Just me personally, I don't see the point in having more things nobody pays attention to, especially after I've found what I like.
However, I'm incredibly bored with cosmetics too. They're always OK at best these days.
I agree, There was a few that I got from Prime that were pretty stinkin cute. Sadly, all the outfits these days make you stick out like a sore thumb. I may have thousands of hrs in the game, but I cant not for the life of me run very long LOL.

- Yes, you're right, skins used to be the norm. I have a lot of skins (which I almost never use), so it doesn't really matter to me what they give, but I imagine that for the majority of players, skins are the most sought-after gift.
I honestly think its just because they went from one to the other. From skins and everyone was like "oh my god another one" to, hardly getting any at all lmfao.

- What drives me crazy is that usually the banners have a "realistic" style, while the badges (in many cases) have a "cartoon" style, so for my aesthetic sense they never match 100%. 🤣I would like the possibility of having only the banner (in general I find them really nice), without the missing badge hole
Dont get me wrong, the badges and stuff are nice. But like they used to do prime outfits too lol. I haven't seen those in a while. But I might have missed em, But yeah seems like they used to do things that would give players an outfit or something, and they just straight up stopped doing it.

According to their statistics, it's never enough money. Investors must make profit.
Im sure all companies feel that way lol. But I also think they might treat their player base like they actually like them lol

i mean i get what you mean but i have to say i kinda like it this way.
know its a 50/50 if i like the stuff we get or if i dont. when we get outfits its the same 50/50 plus an added 50/50 of if i can even use what we get cause we only get stuff for one chracter per side.
I get it, but it would show they care a little more for us. I mean at this point dlc after dlc everyone buying. The outfits everyone is buying, and all we get is the same ole rinse and repeat items.

Serious note, they won't because it cost time and money. It's a easy cop-out. The lazy route.
"Costs time and money" They have enough money. For all the DLC's that they have put out, and all the rifts. Not to mention all the paid outfits. Theres no reason that they couldn't do 1 or 2 a year. Instead we get BP that we get EVERY SINGLE GAME. We get banners and badges, honestly I forgot about them, I dont even change mine, because I hate going into it. Event after event has been nothing but let downs for at least the past 4 years. AT LEAST.

I've noticed it. Survivors are always just fast enough to keep away from me at all times, and when I check, they aren't running any perks that would increase their movement.
I can't speak for last winter event since I was taking a DBD break, but this holiday event has been very annoying. Like, annoying to the point where I just gave up because it was every single match. Not even the same people.
I don't remember it being this bad around the Halloween event either.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one seeing an increase in hackers though. I thought I was just starting to burnout and suck like I did last year. Hopefully BHVR will actually do something about it though.
Weird that you say that about the survivors being fast. Ive noticed lately that ALL killers (the ones ive been facing) seem like they have agitation, and they dont. but they are like super fast while carrying a survivor. Which I think is weird. But eh. You never know with this game anymore.

The recent issue is due to Microsoft giving away game pass for free, and Dead By Daylight is of course on the game pass. It's similar to when the game went free on Epic Games, a bunch of free accounts for people to exploit, get banned and hop straight back on.
sadly yeah. I just wish they would do an I.P ban. I know that there is also ways around that as well. But it would be a lot better than just an account ban. (honestly dont know how they ban ppl never have had it done lol) but idk there is too many hackers these days.

It's wild. Around 3:00AM EST they really seem to come out. I had a teammate hacking last night and I didn't know what to do.
They were chain stunning the killer, instantly healed, basekit DS without ever being hooked, teleporting to the roof of the shack.
I started recording after I escaped and filled out a ticket.
They even had two of the same add-ons for their med-kit 👍

Yeah the cheaters are really bad lately, I suppose they figure they can get away with it while BHVR is on Holiday and they're probably right.
My greatest fear for DBD isn't that it dies from lack of interest or balance like all the doomers keep saying but rather it becomes a Titanfall 2 situation and it just becomes an unplayable mess from constant hacking and DDoSers, we're not there yet but it feels like a very real possibility.
I agree to a point. Its just mind blowing that people actually live stream them hacking the game and they are still playing lol. Its like how much more proof do you need? And the person in this post has been doing it for MONTHS not just the event. Its crazy af

The cheaters never left, they just switched to being subtle cheaters for a while. Now they're getting bold again, and BHVR doesn't care because they think banned accounts = more sales, when in reality the cheaters are still living off of thousands of EGS launch accounts.

Do you realize that is the point of my comment, right? Because they are saying tunneling ends too fast a survivors and should be removed? Just saying.
And I didn't see anyone (seriously) arguing SWF should be removed, but gen rushing with a coordinated SWF is the reason for a lot of things killers do in their game, starting with tunneling and ending with stacking gen regression perks with Eruption + CoB. So yeah, do something about the gen progression and then we can talk about tunneling and such.
Oh but people have argued that even changing said things wouldn't change the outcome. And yes there are TONS of posts about how swf is too strong and that they shouldn't be allowed to because in the start that's not what the devs wanted it to be. But gave us the options to do it. I honestly don't think that the people that really just want to slug and camp are gonna matter if gens take 10 mins and they could get 23 hooks with 18 kills. They will still do it. Just like survivors that want to ruin the killers day and bm and be stupid no sort of changes or adjustments are gonna change that.

Bizzare. You're playing half a game you purchased. Play killer and get some perspective.
I do play killer. And honestly if I 4k, I 4k. If I get steam rolled I get steam rolled. I don't take this game THAT serious. It's not worth "sweating" over. I'm a casual dbd player, asked me 3 years ago it would be a different story. Taking a year break really changed the game for me. I think more people should do it.

The way that test was conducted is more akin to entirely random matchmaking than old emblem system based. They did it just before a grade reset, when losing grades by depipping was no longer possible. So everyone was near or at rank 1. Basically, all the problems of old emblem system matchmaking on steroids.
We had several rounds of testing mmr vs actual emblem based matchmaking. In every case, mmr was worse for me. Now I'm stuck with a 20-25% escape rate in solo queue that never changes, as I consistently go up against 2-5k hours killers with potato teammates.
Yup same with me. I mean I'm OK at the game most definitely need to work on my looping and stuff, but my escape rate went waaaayyy down
-
I actually think that in swf groups there shouldn't be allowed to have dup perks. If they wanna run a swf they should all have different perks. So that way it's not as bad on the killer. I may play mostly survivor but that doesn't mean I don't understand the killer struggles, I used to play 50 50 I can only assume it's gotten worse. But yeah no dup perks and no dup items.

Accuse me of assuming for using correct generic grammar, proceeds to assume 100% of the player base are casuals in a ranked competitive game... k.
Nothing more to say.
I didn't say 100%. I said you would see that most of the player base is causal but you did assume my gender which is very offensive.

@Beatricks said:
Unfortunately, it's never going to happen, despite the fact that by every conceivable measures SBMM performs objectively worse than the old ranking.
>But muh rainbow lobbies!
Rainbow lobbies were a thing, yes. Every once in a blue moon your iri rank survivor got matched up against a bunch of browns who had no idea what to do. It was not literally ~80% of the games (why the devs wanted this high of a kill rate is still beyond me).
>But the devs claim the stats are better!
Oh yeah, the folks who spent 3 years on kill/escape good! escape/dying bad! will be totally honest with us! Like when they give us the sanitized stats that don't include a huge chunk of the games played on the live server because DCs.
If you want to have fun in DBD, SWF up. Take it or leave it.
I know how it works. I've been playing the game for 5 years. I'm not a stranger to the game at all been here for all the nerfs buffs, broken rank this sbmm. I know, and I'm pretty sure the last time I knew escape rate was at like 39%? I could be wrong. Idk..I know I escape like. .2% 🤣🤣🤣

There wouldn't be enough. You can assume that the killer/survivor ratio is roughly the same on each console since they all have the same controller problem. So a few more killer for each console but also a truckload of survivor per console.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3315392#Comment_3315392
That's the only REAL difference to today, red ranks were flooded with players of all skill level and provided high skill player with more easy matches on the average.
And the trials below red ranks had become the infamous "rainbow ranks" because the majority was clumped at red and the rest got thrown together for shorter queue times.
So overall the same as nowadays were everything is a big mix for shorter queue times.
Right. Those who were "red rank" you're stoll going against them you just can't see it lol. I mean I get why they hid it "why am I red grade with silver grade this is unfair" I get the whole thing. But idk I guess to me it sucks that newer people are being put with people they shouldn't be. At least the old ranking system when you were knew (unless playing with others) for the most part you got new killers as well. But there may not be many new people and that's why the way it is. I just hate not knowing how this mmr works seeing that you can outta the game in 2 mins. Older system I knew if I got tunneled out in 2 mins I'm de-pipping

The moment you suggest that someone should not play in a certain way so you and others can have your "fun game". There is where you said it.
You want to have your fun at cost of the killers fun. At least, that's how you sound with things like "I don't care to win as much as you, so you should not play to win".
No I never once said that. But what is the POINT in SLUGGING all 4 survivors at 5 GENS? you're not being Gen rushed, you're not being anything. I'm speaking from games that I've been having. If people don't do it. Good for you, but to those who do then yes, it's sucking the fun out of the game for everyone "but it's fun to me and now you're saying I can't have fun" if you waited 5 mins just to slug everyone maybe take a break. Disney dreamlight is fun 😊

So, another survivor main that don't play the game optimally to win but still thinks he has the right to claim for others to not play competitively in a competitive game because he is entitled to have fun. What a surprise! I didn't hear this one before...
If you weren't playing as a "swat team", it is your fault. Gen rushing is a thing and DbD is a competitive game. You can't seriously ask for killers to play like it is not just because you don't want to play the game seriously.
Lol first off it's she and I'm offended that you would assume that I'm a male.
And secondly I'm sure that if there was a poll for the player base everyone would see that it's mostly casual people that play the game. To wind down after work and just have a chill time.
But keep assuming..

Don't play a game where losing = being removed, if being removed is a flaw to you.
Why do Survivors think 'Killers can KILL US!' is a surprising thing that needs to be MODERATED, when it's the only way for Killers to win...Oh, because it's the only way for Killers to win.
News flash: The Killers are trying to kill you. They don't need to PM you and ask if you filled a 'fun quota' before they knock you out of the map, and they CERTAINLY don't need to play sub-optimally while Survivors take 50 second chance perks and genrush perks, queue up in SWF, & use voice chat.
I find it hilariously hypocritical that Survivors whine 'What about OUR FUN!?' while trying the level best to win ASAP with ever advantage they can bring. As if Killers are expected to ensure Survivors have a fun game instead of trying to win, like some sort of funhouse employee.
Um I never once said anything about killers not having fun. I don't bm unless the killer starts it. Only time I take a item in is if I need to do a challenge. "Kill by all means" that's the mentality of killers, you slug and face camp and tunnel at 5 gens "because that's what killers do" yet killers have aura perks for EVERYTHING. BBQ, lethal, bitter, and the list goes on. They even have aura readings for add-ons. You guys have JUST as much as survivors do UNLESS it's a swf. Which I don't play my games are strictly solo q. So no I don't know what my teammates are running you see the items as I do. But I'll be running distortion so that all your aura reading perks are useless against me.

Easy, get into a SWF with voicechat and coordinate well. By the time the killer is going to do his second hook you would have all gens done.
But remember me again why killers should worry about you having fun when obviously you, like all survivors, don't give a damn about theirs.
And please tell me..where I said "no fun is to be had by killers" I'm the survivor that when a killer farms I kill myself in the end game collapse. So don't put all survivors in that type of behavior. Because it's not true at all.

I actually solo q all of my games. I don't have a swf group to play with but when I did we weren't playing like a swat team. We actually talked about real life stuff and caught up with each other because that's when we would talk. Yall make it seem like every swf group is elite swat teams that will stomp you. Maybe, but I know from experience that the colored tiers made people play way harder. Like, the dudes who were in purple ranks were honestly the hardest sweats Ive ever seen in the game. And it was probably because they were just on the cusp of red ranks and wanted to try extra hard to make sure they hit it. I feel like the current system encourages more playing just to play instead of playing to get to the red ranks.
Idk man I think it's just as bad you just don't lose pips now lol

You want to keep allowing this kind of gameplay? Fine, but AT LEAST introduce some kind of BP penalty for this in early game. Because it's just insane to me that killers get rewarded for this BS.I was unaware the Killer trying to win as hard as the Survivors focus gens is 'BS'. Oh, right, because Survivors get angry when Killers win in any Non-Approved(tm) way.
There will not be a 'BP punishment' because it's not 'BS' for Killers to focus a Survivor out. It's called 'Playing smart' to remove someone ASAP. Because that slows down how many people can heal, boon, do gens, unhook, and open gates.
It's called 'Playing smart' to remove the weakest link instead of spreading hits and hooks just because Survivors are angry.
I wanna be able to end killer game play as fast as you can ours

I completely agree. It's amazing that someone's "fun game" can be over in a matter of like 2 mins. It's most definitely gotten a lot worse. I started playing about 5 years ago almost 6. And I mean there was some back then but not NEARLY as bad

The really good players had more easy matches in the old system. I am not a top player by any stretch, and I think that it largely is fine. The biggest problem is that there are times when there aren’t enough players in each pocket of skill to quickly get good matches. I also wish I could see my score to get an idea of how good I am.
Yeah idk, It's just tiring seeing all the new people getting steam rolled by 6k hour players who are clearly alot better at the game than they are. I mean idk how many games you gotta lose to get matched with newer people but it's insane.

Killers camping and tunneling every game is the issue. People would use the perks as much if there wasn't so much of that stuff.
...
I never said that anything was killers "fault"
That's pretty much exactly what you said.
I don't care either way, bring what you want. But saying that DH's pick rate will go down in any significant way if killers stop playing a certain way is laughable.
I honestly think it would. And I hardly see anyone on my team playing with it. I sure don't I tried it before and I dead harded into a wall so no thanks. But this whole this and that crap is never ending. Survivors crying about killer perks killers crying about survivor perks. But my main thing is, and I stand by this..that tunneling and camping have gotten so much worse. And I'm not talking about because gens are flying. I'm talking 5 gens still up. Killers tunneling because someone brought in 1 and 1 one item. It's getting out of hand, I've ran into more people lately saying that they don't like the game anymore. I just hate seeing the numbers drop because it's one of my fav games. Just sad to see is all.

Back then we made the point that mouse and keyboard has an advantage over gamepad when playing killer.
But i can tell you it wouldn't be better to isolate PC and console. Before crosplay was a thing consoles had enormous queue tikes due to less people playing killer in relation to survivors. 10+ minutes on survivor were the NORM.
And that is BECAUSE killer on console with a gamepad is more limited in comparison to killer with mouse and keyboard on PC. Taking PC out of the crosplay pool will only lead to a killer shortage on console and way increased queue times which in turn will screw even more with the matchmaking.
It seems like you either have forgotten or never truly experienced the times back then and want to go there without knowing or denying the state of the game back then.
I started on ps4. I know I would be able to cook a full meal before getting into a lobby. But I believe with ps4 xbox and switch that there would be enough, or at least hope there would be. I just, I don't know. So many things about the game that I love and hate at the same time lol

People would use the perks as much if there wasn't so much of that stuff.
No, that is absolutely not what would happen.
BHVR: "let's add 10s to gen times so killers don't need as much slowdown." Killers: Stacks more slowdown. (Granted, BHVR released Hyperfocus right after doing this.) BHVR could increase gen times to double what they are and Eruption+COB would still be meta.
If BHVR "fixes" tunneling and camping, survivors are still going to run DH. "The game is too easy now so I will stop bringing DH" is not something that is going to happen unless DH stops being the best survivor perk in the game.
Both sides are generally going to bring stuff that makes it easier to win. Stop pretending like it's killers' fault that DH still has the highest pick rate; it's BHVR's fault.
I never said that anything was killers "fault" I stated an opinion of my own free will. If you're that titled over it maybe you should breathe a little bit. I'm only speaking on my own experience and no one else's. I don't speak for all 100% solo q survivors just as you or no one else speaks 100% killer mains. There's is always going to be stuff that the other side does or has no matter what. I get gens are too fast, I get having x y and z makes it harder. But I'm speaking on the games where my entire team is slugged never hooked and left to bleed out. Getting that treatment enough is gonna make anyone throw on meta perks. I just wish that most killer mains could have the "fun" games wr have over and over and over and be told to get good or stop using crutch perks..again MY OPINION...just so you know.

The only problem with that, sbmmr already fails when it is prioritizing queue time over quality thanks to the devs, because not all ranges of MMR are populated equally.
This idea would split the playerbase even further, leading to increased queue times, leading to even more borked matchmaking in the two different modes.
The playerbase of DBD is simply too small for separated queues.
But old ranked matchmaking wasn't any better and all the people screaming old ranks are looking through rose tinted glasses.
I always thought it might be better to do crossplay as consoles. All consoles play together and pc has their own. Playing on both pc and console, console is at a disadvantage on some levels.

Nope. Not all of us. I know a lot of members here like it, including myself. And I know @StarLost does as well

I guess I don't really know what to say. In my experience sbmm is infinitely better than rank based ever was and honestly once it sets your initial rating it's honestly better for new players for the most part. It's not flawless, no, but I had a friend recently start playing actually getting people at a noob level after the first couple matches that were hard. My first.. 10? Or so matches ever in this game we're people were in the thousand hour range up to 4k before I finally got a killer that was as new as me.
Not to mention, I love it as killer. The killers I don't play regularly (ie nurse) get chiller games/easier survivors than the killer I try hard the most on (huntress, Billy). So no, I really don't want to go back to red ranks where I'm not getting challenged on my mains.
I don't know guess mine is backassward then. As survivor I get wrecked every single game with teammates that don't do anything at all (not every but geesus does it feel like it) and on killers I've never played before I'm getting ran by every single one like they are on the track team. And I'm talking brand new. I try about 5 games with them and same thing every time. Soooo I don't like it. I'm glad you do tho

As already said, false equivalence and your statement that there are perks to deal with DH is just plain wrong.
My main role is survivor btw but I also play killer and I don't run Eruption because its broken and for the same reason I don't run Dead Hard as survivor.
Nothing takes away from the fact that DH gives a free 3rd health state and can do so multiple times in a match and that is just as unfair as Eruption making multiple survivors useless for multiple times in one match, also with no counter play if they are solo players.
Just like killers having a perk to be able to insta down someone who either pallet stuns them or fast vaults said pallet. I mean faking out is a good strat..it's what I do 🤷♀️

You've been called out on your bad false equivalency and now you're screeching about camping and tunneling. Completely unrelated. Go in for the greatest hits and make your next post "solo queue bad".
Wait...called out on what? I thought this was adults having a civil conversation?

i agree 100%. Most of the issues you have sound like issues with solo queue and matchmaking, the latter i think needs a massive overhaul, people with triple digit hours shouldnt be matched with brand new dwights
Yes that is the issue I believe. I get that everyone wants to give and no one wants to give. But when you have a 10000000000 hour God huntress against you and a group of 200 hour players well its bogus. I think they should go back to old ranks. Lose pips when you do bad. Not this hidden crap that no one knows what's going on. I lose 10 games then I go up against a freaking God tier blight or huntress like...huh
