I don't care if I play with streamers. We went against a baby spirit who had like maybe 3 viewers.
it's not about the viewers! people are talking about the streamers themselves. I've gone against killers that were ttv and were in the red ranks and they had 1 viewer, that doesn't change how they play! the question was more than likely asked along the lines of do you find more ttv'ers toxic or not? have you had good games or bad games against ttv'ers? there are a great many. and honestly if you went up against a baby spirit, they had 3 viewer at the time, could you possibly think oh hey they may be new to dbd streaming? yet your implication is that because they only have 3 viewers they are a terrible player since they were playing as a baby spirit.
Come on have more respect for people than that. sure you didn't name any names but you sure as said they were crappy to play against, most new killers are because they don't know how to play the game, this is why I HATE when, even friends, people say "GG EZ BB KILLER!" because it's said in such a way that the idea of "GG" or "GOOD GAME" is a snide remark. makes the person use it worse than dog crap in my mind.

Idc, strong players don't use it in my experience.
Any man who must say "I am a ttv streamer", is no real ttv streamer.
I guess no real TTV streamer wants to advertise their channel! LOL... your comment is laughable! If the TTV is the killer they are advertising to 4 other people and if there is a ttv in the survivors too that can lead to more than 4 learning of their channel... Same goes with TTV survivors, unless they are playing SWF they advertise atleast to 4 people.
As Killer if I see a TTV, I go into their channel early in the lobby and drop a hello line to introduce myself and 9 times out of 10 I either get the survivor in a jump scare or they get to laughing but either way we have a great time no matter what. IF i'd gone in as killer i'd return after to chat with them. MOST TTV'ers are not toxic and the minority of those that are, make the rest have a bad name.

Pig too. That’s one of the reasons Pig has on of the highest kill rates because most solo q’s have no idea what to do against Pig. They don’t 99 gens to avoid the traps from activating because there’s no communication.
that's a laugh, if you don't know that someone with a hat on will have it active once a gen is completed they must be very new. because solo surviors just want to get done and get out just as much as SWF's do. You can't blame them for NOT knowing, the information is on their screen the same time as it is with the rest of the swf. Honestly most just don't care, i've been solo with swf's and they complete gens while I have a hat on (and hanging on the hook). your counter to that? I didn't think so... oh and it's at red ranks that I see the most gens being completed while a hat is on a solo survivor's head.

I use DH for distance aswell but when theres nowhere to DH too i just wait to see if i can dodge the attack.
i just think it should be one or the other, the hit or the DH not both.
the back end does catch that and removes the exhaustion if you end up on the ground exhausted usually. if not report the bug to them. There is no way to limit that with an internet connected game.

Keys are so rarely used, that I find this ridiculous to even care about. You just had the bad luck of having it 2 matches in a day where they happened to find keys.
You can counter keys brought into the match really easy and rarely are keys found in chests, even with plunders.
what flavor kool-aid would you like? I've seen more keys in the past 5 months than in the past 2.5 years in matches.

usually the green offerings are 100% chance, but there are still people with brown and yellow offerings that are still slight and moderate chances so if one of those were played it's possible. and I guess statistically it might be not be 100% and go else where. dunno.
Personally I don't think the sacrificial ward is worth anything because it requires the other four to put up the EXACT SAME MAP to even do anything.
Also speaking about the aspect of getting it back if others put up the same offering, the only time that happens is if ANOTHER offering SUPERSEDES yours. for instance you place an offering for you to start with one other player and someone placed the offering for everyone to start together. This is an example of when i believe you get the offering back, though I may be wrong but using that having the same map they are not superseding each other so it wouldn't see to do so.

Does anyone know why every once in a while a survivor gets on a gen, a random animation occurs where they will like grunt and back away as if they missed a skill check but didn't? I'm not sure if it is a bug or perk, but it happens occasionally and I still don't know what it means.
it's a glitch, if you watch you are already repairing the gen or that's what it's looked like. usually this happenes when the gen has regressed fully.

i feel like it got glossed over and then ignored very quickly, but survivor v survivor bodyblocking is the problem.
standing in doorways so other people can't get through, standing in front of vaults so people can't use them, trapping your teammates in corners with totems, etc
not everything is about killers.
standing infront of a vault where the killer is chasing the other survivor well they can move somewhere else, that's possibly griefing or AFKing, but probably not bannable, however as you and others have said blocking someone in a corner for several minutes, even if EGC is activated, that would be bannable, mikie trapping someone in a corner to SUCK for Tier 3 from tier 1 on the survivor was suggested as bannable, but blocking them in a corner to rev the chainsaw and down them it is not. so it is a situational thing.

That sounds like camping should be bannable then...
definition of camping: Staying in the vicinity of a hook in various ways, while a survivor is on that hook. Players will be able to get the hooked person inf they are clever enough.
definition of body blocking: standing in a location that blocks a player from moving away from the location.
Determination of how long is allowed is done by the devs though you can't tie a specific number where it changes from not bannable to bannable. thus Camping is not body blocking and is a bad conclusion. Bodyblocking a survivor like that even though EGC can finish the game can still be bannable.

Where on the old description of Decisive Strike does it say that I cannot run to a generator after getting unhooked and just work on it right in front of the Killer's face? Where on the old description does it say that when the killer inevitably downs me when I do this that I can't just run Unbreakable, pick myself back up and continue working on the gen?
You want to talk about intent, yet no intent was provided. Unless they added some new part of the tutorial that specifically goes over the Do's and Do Not's of using Decisive Strike, I guess I just missed it when I was going through survivor orientation :/.
That being said, I guess my method of using Decisive Strike is correct, and therefore intentional as the game does not say I cannot do that. The perk said that after an unhook, if I am picked up by the killer within a minute of that unhook, I get a skill check to free myself. As long as what I'm doing falls within those parameters, then it is also intentional.
So, an aspect that made Decisive Strike strong, which was the main reason why people were asking for it to get changed was removed. The perk itself was changed in a way so that this strong form a gameplay is not possible any more. As a result the perk is now "weaker".
But it's not a nerf though. It's just weaker and not as abusable as before. But don't call it a nerf though, that's clearly not what a nerf is. -_-

oh where does it say that tunneling is against the rules and is toxic? where does it say a killer can not camp the person on the hook? where is it said that noed can't be used becuase it's TOXIC? no where what so ever. HOWERVER the devs have stated that the perk DECISIVE STRIKE is to be an anti-tunneling perk. and having you progress the game means the killer is not chasing you and thus you can forward the game. the devs have STATED this and brought the perk into line with how they envisioned the perk being used not how YOU envision it to be used. your opinion means nothing in the grand scheme of things where the intention of how a perk is to be used or what ever.
your diatribe here shows your ignorance and self-righteous outlook that you know better than the people that make the game how it was designed. and by your own admission how they have it now means that your use of DS before WAS incorrect as the devs changed it to be more inline with their envisioning of the perk. You might notice that I said abuse not anything saying of incorrectly or using it against the rules of the game. you made that idea up just to make your argument sound right. To answer your questions there have been several DEV broadcasts where they discussed various perks and how their intent for the perks was. That is the addition to the tutorial in the do's and dont's of the use of a perk. The devs even came out and said they changed it this time as it was not being used as they intended it to be and thus changed it. you can take your clown suit to HR, turn it in and go find another line of work!

They barely buffed a survivor perk, let's not get carried away. Please look at Trickster. He was massively buffed and going to wipe the floor. Huntress was hardly nerfed at all, can still carry 5 hatchets!! Freddy can still teleport. Zanshin Tactics buffed so it has no cooldown. That is huge.
hmm one perk now not only stops blood pools but also scratch marks, sure it is a time frame that this will happen, they gave you a totem counter (one of how many had been destroyed), they also removed the uncertainty from this same perk as to if it's a killer trap or a totem so that is a huge buff, do i need to go on? now you talk about freddy that he can still teleport, well only to gens NOT finished and his snares been cut down to 5 snares OR 7 pallets, TRAPPER can place more traps than freddy can now, hag has 10 traps that are re-usable and she can teleport to those traps. with 5 snares that ability is only regulated to in chase only and now he's slowed when placing them. over all a huge debuff for him. huntress had a useless add on that now has to be avoided or used as a meme game add on. and the power of the iri head has been reduced to almost 0 effectiveness so why not ignore the fact she has an m2 power? yea it's a big nerf. because people like you don't look at the over all ups and downs and only what you WANT to see you'll notice that there are very few ups for killers in recent years now and very few DOWNS for survivors in the same time.

one sentence later
they just nerfed...
They didn't nerf it, they just nerfed one aspect of it. So it's not a nerf :/
no you dolt, the fact that what was being abused was removed is what people are talking is the nerf so sure if you think of it that way sure they nerfed something but the key is what was being abused, this is not what was intended by the perk so by the definition it is not a nerf as the definition by many is a change of the item from it's original intended use to something less than it's intended use. and the abuse was not part of it's intended use thus this was truly not a nerf. but people like you and others will change the definition used to something that fits your narrative.

I don't wanna add a toolbox to the mix but let's add a toolbox. Now multiply this by 4 cause every surv could run the same build. How do you think this match will go?
there are killer perks that do not reveal the survivors aura that can be used for instance whispers.

Oh, I'm not trying to complain or anything. I don't think this change was needed at all. The only thing I said when I read it was, "wait, why?" BT didn't need changes.
I'm not trying to be a whiny survivor or anything. It was just my suggestion instead of BT being given no matter what. I personally don't think either was needed, except Freddy's dream world not allowing BT at all. It didn't need to be at all times, even in dream world. There could've been things to stop it in dream world too, but they decided to make it given no matter what, which I disagree with.
I totally understand the frustrations, trust me. I'm not against you in any way. I'm a Detective's Hunch gamer, so Undying wasn't too bad. It was annoying, sure, but did not need all the changes it got.
My Hag comment was just meant to be a comic relief joke.
thing is you brought camping into the discussion and i'm tired of being told i'm wrong, i've played wrong, i've done wrong when i camp and even when I don't i'm accused of it! I honestly think BT was actually in a good spot, it was easy to know when bt would trigger and when it wouldn't. now it still is easy to know as it'll happen every time. I agree i think this was not even an issue and don't know why they changed it, but their change really does nothing to change how it works in the game truly so it's a nonissue for me.

I'm not mincing words. DS was not made with the intent of being anti-tunnel. The functionality was changed with it's rework, but there is NOTHING saying it wasn't working as intended or that would be called a bug or exploit. You're the one trying to bend words to fit a narrative here, not me. If it "did more than intended", then it isn't working as intended, which it was. It did exactly as it was coded to do.
The devs didn't like how it performed in a match, so they changed it to how they would like it to perform now. Just like they did with the first rework.
As for original DS nerf you brought up, the obsession did not need to wiggle to DS. Anyone not the obsession only needed to wiggle 35%. That is still stronger than the 1 minute rework. Having DS at ALL times, regardless of needing to wiggle for 5.6 seconds, is infinitely better than only having it after a hook state and for a minute.
did you play during that time as the non obsession ds wielder? I will tell you 35% of the wiggle bar was not fast enough to prevent a hook. this is why it was changed, plus people whined it made them a target so that's why it's still 25% for everyone even when you put in the DS perk yet it still says it increases your chances of being the obsession.... I didn't mince words the change from ds 2.0 to 3.0 is much stronger because enduring no longer helped mitigate the stun time as it did before, if it was within the egc and a door was open then it wouldn't matter unless you were so far away from the door you'd not make it in time after the ds or the crawl out. much more powerful in how it was wielded plus the unintended side effect of if you were pulled out of a locker, off a gen, off a totem, chest you got to use it where as before you could not use it as such. so looking at DS 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and now 4.0 it shows it's full anti-tunnel functionality that the devs said in their own live stream(s) that it was intended to be.
you say the devs didn't like how it performed in "a match" as if one game proved the undooing of the perk. no it wasn't that they just had nothing else to do to hurt killers at that time honestly that would not be a blatant WE ARE SURVIVOR oriented sign to hang around their neck. I love the devs, I wish they would admit how they are though instead of lie about it everytime, I can respect people with a stance even one i don't like but I honestly have lost faith in the devs to be fair between killers and survivors.
4 survivors required to start the game 1 killer, sure they want to keep the 4 survivors playing and paying for stuff, but if you look past that if you loose 1 killer that means 4 survivors have to wait for someone to be free. 10 killers, that's 40 survivors that have to wait, 100, that's 400 survivors that have to wait, 1000 killers leave that's 4000 survivors that have to wait. though simplistic it shows the fallacy of thinking the survivors are the group to keep, it's the killers so the survivors can enjoy short wait times and all keep coming back. now if you loose 4 survivors 1 killer has to wait, but the fun fact is you have four killers, and you have 13 survivors to match together, what will happen is that 3 killers get groupped up quickly and one survivor and one killer waits for 3 more survivors. alright those 3 groups of 4 survivors have a survivor die early in the game say 3 minutes in or on first hook, these 3 early out survivor fill in the gaps in that one waiting killer lobby. so killer is not as affected by survivors leaving the game as much.

The thing is, just remove the "terror radius" part of it and give it a set distance, like 32 meters from the hook.
This change was to remove stealth killers being able to camp hooks, it seems. If that was the case, just give it a static number and remove it from being a terror radius. This will help remove stealth killers camping issues and not give it no matter what.
As you say replace it with killer is within X meters of the hook, why change it then? TR rules it determines who is best. funny thing is it matters not because if the killer is not within the area, BT will expire and no one goes into the dying state or anything and the match moves on. this change is a nonsequiter and inconsequential change that requires some way to keep or use the oblivious status or the killer counterpart undetectable and that requires specific character or specific perks.
but lets talk about this: so camping hooks is against the rules? lol well it is in the survivor's handbook for killers which has nothing to do with reality. no the reason this was done honestly is people on the side of the survivors crying about camping and stealth killers camping so to shut you all up they placated you. and because of that more killers will leave the game. I personally have not played more than a few matches in over three weeks myself. I completed all prior rifts, but i won't complete this one, why? I don't believe it is a game worth stressing over to play. I'd rather play FF14 and have lots of fun doing lots of things that if i mess up I know it was ME that messed up not because something else happened or someone didn't come save me etc. I have also seen the majority of the nerfs happening to the killer side for one reason or another and it's worse and worse. take DS, it was in a bad state for 2 years people of all walks of life complained about it and finally got "noticed" and altered. how ever 3 months after undying came out even though there were ways to prevent undying to really be effective, it was nerfed big time with a tiny little buff to carry over tokens as that happens. that's 3 months after it's release.. yet DS was in the meta for over 2 years straight and used in unintended ways. here is another aspect, mori's got reduced to side show freak status yet the counter point for it was keys (notice not the COUNTER to KEYS but the counter point) was told that there would be changes happening to keys soon and 5 months from then there is a 20 second reduction in hatch open time ( to 10 seconds open) but a good group would have everyone at the hatch ready to go in right away so that changed nothing yet the mori change was a very heavy handed and perhaps needed change but the survivors got to keep their keys for use as is till now. and even then they are still OP since they let you do many things than just open the hatch.

I kinda agree and disagree. The abusefulness has definitelly been removed. But it deepened the facecamping issue. If the killer is facecamping/proxy camping, there is no workaround anymore. Worst is facecamp + slug. You cannot get 1 for 1 anymore. Now you can get 1 for 3 easily. This heavily punishes you for rescuing other survivors. The only small buff I'd maybe give to DS now is for it to deactivate after a sucessful rescue, not during the rescue so you can at least attempt a facecamping resuce and not get punished for it.
And I'm kinda confused on how the new Object of obsession works. It feels like the text doesn't match the functionality. I'll have to play it more to understand it. The Iri Huntress addon nerf was ok-ish. I'd maybe prefer it to instantly down a survivor if they get hit by the hatchet at a certain distance, like it activates for the Deathslinger. But we'll see how it goes. I'm thinking they were going along the line of nerfing experienced killers with it. But all other changes are ok I guess. The one I really like is Small Game. This combined with Inner strength can easily replace Detectives Hunch and it could help me calculate how many more totems I have left.
the problem with camping (and tunneling) is many fold, one is the multitude of definitions you encounter with these terms but the problem most people don't realize is that these two may not be the best game play for the killer, it may not be the most fun for the one hooked, but they are not restricted from use per the game rules. only the player's handbook for killers makes this a bad thing. The best play for the 3 remaining survivors is to get on gens and pop them ASAP, to allow for the 2 minutes the hooked person is being camped and get them out. it sucks if you are the one that this is done to but hey that's life next time it may not be you. the reason it turns into another 1-3 kills is becuase the people want to try and save the player and they go in without thinking and blammo there is the 3K or 4K because people were being silly.
The want to get everyone out is strong and I can attest to that myself but sometimes the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one. (YES I quoted SPOCK!) There is no specifically toxic perks or toxic builds, just what people don't like that much. I'd call the current survivor meta "TOXIC" but that's my opinion, I'd also call intentionally rapid click of flashlights toxic but honestly that is not beyond my opinion along with others. The only time something is truly toxic is when that is done to intentionally be "TOXIC" this communitity is all about us vs them. well the us vs them is driving the killers away from the game and survivors are suffering for that in their queue times. we have to stop this or else the game will go to no killers and no one getting games unless they put automated killers in and that's not as fun.

I am not sure what you are talking about. We both agree that the use you discripe was an abuse of the perk and thats why it needed a nerf.
However, the situation i used as an example was also not rare, and is a valid use, at least in my opinion.
YOU, however claimed, that the perk wasnt nerfed, just its abusability. And thats where we disagree, thats why i used a valid situation that is still nerfed as an example.
It was nerfed, and to me, a little over the top. Healing yourself should in my opinion not deactivate the perk. Unhooks, gens, totems, yes, they should. Also, i belive it should be usable after every unhook, not just once.
Not make stupid claims and people might not disagree with you, when they basicly share your opinion.
alright before this "NERF" as you call it DS would allow a player to come off the hook and at rank 3 have 1 minute protection from the killer putting them on the shoulder. so as you put it they run away and killer comes along 55seconds later downs the unhooked one and picks them up blamo DS. (this is what you said with a bit of added info to put it into perspective). now take it's current "NERFED" form the survivor comes off the hook, runs away and 55 seconds later killer downs them and picks them up, blamo DS. there is no change thus no NERF.
How ever what happened from the point of DS 2.0 to DS 3.0 (we are at DS 4.0 I believe) the condition got unintentionally changed from a survivor being picked up from the dying state to being the survivor being placed on the killer's shoulder (because it would not ACTIVATE till the survivor was on the ground) so what happened from 2.0 to 3.0 if you sat on a gen and the killer grabbed you off of it, grabbed you out of a locker, off a chest or totem you'd face a DS strike, so survivors would use it to see how the killer responded. This unintentional change was becuase of the point where the perk activated in 2.0 it was in the dying state, in 3.0 it was being pulled off the hook. thus what you said was not abuse and I never said anything about it yet you did, I was referring to the abuse where survivors would jump on a gen to pull the ds trick.
Thus this was not a NERF since the intended aspect of DS was never to protect a survivor on a gen, totem, chest or even in a locker. how ever the devs decided that they wanted to keep some of this in and left those things without a counter in the perk.

yea ik but htey can make htis server sided reducing the desync even more isntead of waiting for the killer to send the hit to the server than to you you can make hits server sided so the client asks the server if it was a hit then the server checks with you if it was a hit then sends it back
so you have 40 ms, the killer has 190ms. that means you communicate 4 times as fast with the server than the killer (more actually) but more accurately it takes 115ms for your actions to translate to the killer, and then another 115 ms back to you so what you are seeing as a dsync is acually just the information finally reaching your computer of what happened. this is the same issue that you had with dead hard leaving you exhausted on the ground from it's use but still getting downed.
funny thing is the devs have TALKED about the huntress' hatchets and you are totally not even listening to them. they are using beach ball sized hit boxes around the hatchet and the collision zone of the hatchet to see if it hits an object in the world is much smaller the beach ball hit box for determining player hits can GO THROUGH WALLS and still hit you. PLUS with that you don't know when the game exactly determined when you were hit. so you may have an idea about dsync, buy you are not grasping all that is happening what so ever. dsync is actually much easier to spot when it is very egregious or when the hit box is extremely small, case in point deathslinger. you just don't like what has happened so you rant and everyone laughs and later you feel bad for what you said when you realize you did not account for all the information.

My recommendation was always just have it be, "if killer is within X meters of the hook, BT will proc".
But this change also helps against basement Hag, which I won't complain about. You can actually do something about it other than flashlights or letting them die.
it was if the killer is within X meters of the hook, this would be the terror radius. as that is the meter that was used. now it doesn't give a damn if the killer is off in the corner gorging on pustula serum on red forest. you get it though at a reduced time frame of use. but here's the kicker there is NO drawback if it is NEVER used! so this just gives the killer a chance to randomly run into a survivor that was unhooked far enough away the killer didn't go back but circled for another kill and blammo survivor that was unhooked runs right into the killer... oops! no camping, no tunneling what so ever just pure accidental meetings while BT is still active

So, if someone gets unhooked, runs away and then tries to heal themself, just to get downed and uses ds, that was abusing it? I think this is a far stretch.
you are funny... that is exactly what DS was to be used for. not sitting on the gen next to the hook you were just on for 1 minute while the killer decides what to do with you as you try to bait the killer to grab you off of it. hmmm ok i have 1 minute of invulnerability because the killer can't pick me up what so ever, a gen takes 80 seconds to do solo so i'll sit on this gen for that 1 minute or close to it and it'll be 3/4ths done or so when i leave it. meanwhile the killer can't do anything because three of the survivors all have ticking DS clocks and the 4th is dead now. what is left ? you say slug em? well time the locker jump and the attack turns into a grab and blamo they get ds'd becuase they deserved it.
Yea keep making it about the real thing when the abuse was rampant and then WHINE when the abuse is 85% stopped. great logic there.

So, it was a nerf, very obviously. The functionality of it's usage was harshly changed (for good reason). Regardless of them changing the "abusable" aspect of it, it's still a nerf, as it isn't as strong as it was.
Also, are you trying to say that the DS change to being 60 seconds is stronger than it always being active, regardless of hook state...? Because Idk what planet you're living on if you think that.
Sure, dribbling was removed, but after 4 drops, you lost the survivor anyway. Dribbling only worked when you were close enough to a hook to get away with it.
the functionality was not changed, just the unanticipated uses of it were changed. the functionality was to deter someone from being tunneled down without another second chance action with in 1 minute. it was not meant to be any time the killer picked up the survivor, it's intended use was NOT being followed and that is where you nerf logic fails. you use the words you are supposed to but you left out about the part of the fact that it was being exploited for a slip in how it was coded, not intended but there. It was not supposed to be the killer picks survivor onto shoulder but it was supposed to be killer DOWNS the survivor then PICKS them up off the ground IN THE DYING STATE. look to the way DS was done before the change before, when it didn't require a hook state to activate, the survivor was down and if they were the obsession the killer faced a ds check (well survivor had to make it) upon being picked up, not grabbed off the generator it was from the dying state. Lets not mince words, this was not a nerf but removal of unanticipated uses of the perk.

Yep, what Freki said above is on the money. That is why I am adamant that people need to record their games. That way you can look at them in hindsight and you have something that will show (clearly) if someone was working with the Killer, or you were just mistaken in the heat of the moment.
though it's pretty ######### of a company that can get the meta data from the servers saved if they wanted to when a scoreboard report is put in, and then have a way to actually SEE what happens is an issue here. even Verant Interactive knew they'd need this when they started everquest and had it set up. before the dedi servers they couldn't capture this but with the dedicated servers it can be! they should not REQUIRE people to record their games just to prove their assertions. not everyone knows how to do it, though they could learn yes but not everyone knows what to do to get the recording, plus the recordings are one sided and not the same as seen from the server hosting the game too.

Well they nerfed DS. So now to compensate survivors for this inconvenience, they buff a ton of survivor stuff and nerf killers.
Makes sense, doesn't it?
lol ds wasn't nerfed. it's functionality is the same as the pre change. they just nerfed the ABUSIBILITY of it. lol though they did buff a few killer things but nothing as big as they buffed survivors.... though i disagree with the change of small game to no longer ping killer traps!

Hi, I joined the forum to express my frustration with the amount of survivors I’ve witnessed working with killers lately. It’s really put me off to the point that I’m no longer interested in the game. Just thought I’d offer some (hopefully) constructive feedback. Best of luck, all.
it would depend on what you call "WORKING WITH THE KILLER" there are times where there are people that will call something working with the killer when it was more like not doing what that other person wanted them to do and they got angry. I've also seen people do lots of things to "RAT" me out to the killer. the question of what is happening in the game that this happens is QUITE a valid question.

So is farming bannable?
Farming in and of itself is NOT bannable and this has been said many times by the devs. how ever if someone is forcing someone else to farm that does not want to then that IS a bannable action. for instance I was being blocked in by other players and the killer would litterally down me to let them heal me up and at that time I tried to hold shift to stop the heals but the killer picked me up and dropped me and when I ran he chased me down and just wouldn't let me get out and do what i wanted to do, get the gens done and get out. I didn't have video of the situation so i doubt they got any punishment. so go with it as you will.

OK so I'm gonna walk you through this.
Telling the guy to just report it isn't helping solve his problem that he keeps running into players who help thenkiller. Similarly saying don't justify or normalize cheating while good advise in general doesn't really pertain to his issue.
Maybe this could be explained better with an analogy. Imagine you have a friend who comes to you and says to your group of friends that everythime he walks home no matter what rout he takes he gets mugged by random people and how he doesn't want to get mugged.
So another of your friend says to him stop walking around with hundred dollar bills sticking out of your hat. Another friend says buy a gun and a third friend recommends he drive.
Then you come in and complain that people are not representing themselves by coming up with solutions because mugging is against the law and he should just report it and furthermore anything else that might solve his problem is just normalizing or justifying mugging. Can you see how that type of comment is both completely useless in preventing yoh friend getting mugged and alzo derailing a discussion about how he may actually prevent mugging?
actually telling them to report it, is a GOOD thing, if more people acutally FOLLOWED the report chain (use the report in game/scoreboard then use the ticket system to provide more information to the dev team including video/screen shots etc. more people would not get away with things. because so many find it tedious to do they just say what ever and nothing gets done to those that DO break the rules. it's people like you that are saying don't report that are the problem. HOWEVER it is ALSO necessary to know the difference between intentional and unintenional acts that can be working with the killer when intentional and not when uninentional. "you opened my locker near the killer, you're working with the killer!!!!" "NO I didn't even know you were in there!" a single opening is more than likely unintentional, but multiple (3 or more) is more than likely intentional and bad.

Finally Freddy recieved a nerf, but since my point of view the change to his snares (not the pallets) was too much and the big problem was the difficulty of see his red stain when you were sleep. Also the buff to the black box doesn't do anything.
Finally they take Iri head and... nothing. A lot of people (players, youtubers, streamers) suggested the obvious rework: at a certain distance the hatchets inflict the dying sate, but now you get 2 or 3 hatchets.
Finally they put another red add-on and... garbage. A lot of people (players, youtubers, streamers) are never going to use this one because his value is comparable to a brown add-on, basically is not worth to buy.
Finally they buff the demogorgon, but the devs still doesn't get an important thing... his FOOTSTEPS can be heard, so the undetectable buff is not enough. The value of lifeguard whistle is comparable to a brown add-on, so also not worth.
Finally they buff small game and... ???. A lot of people (players, youtubers, streamers) suggested the obvious buff: you get +x% of speed while cleansing totems. But okay.
Finally they buff lucky break and... OMG. Now is overpowered and unfair for killers, especially with iron will. The spirit won't have now any chance of getting a survivor with her power.
Finally we have the rework of Colwind fa... wait… where is Haddonfield. A lot of people (players, youtubers, streamers) were asking deeply for the map rework, but okay. Also I don't get it, I don't care too much about the map being daylight, but is not better for the asthetics of the game, to all be dark and creepy?
A last thing. What are you doing you aren't buffing killers perks?
The rest of the update is good, but I'm sick of the devs doing weird and bad things when they have the chance of succeed. I don't know about you, but I think this is going to be a chaos.
fist of all I am only going to address the map rework. Haddonfield is under a license agreement, so they have to clear it through the license. Haddonfield however is not under such restrictions, so what is happening here they are doing what they can and get that out and will work with others as they are able. AND YES Gideon's is also under license, but they have gotten authroization to change things there (look to the pig's outfits), and yes mikie got some new outfits as well but still they have to clear changes to the map with the licensor.

I know right? We have been waiting months... since the Mori nerf... to see the damn keys get adjusted.
keys weren't changed one bit. still easy as hell to get in the chests with all the chest perks survivors have now. and though hatch time has changed it doesn't change that they would not jump out till everyone getting out were right there and therefore the time change doesn't really affect keys.

They did that with mori's, while at the same time giving survivors a now...over 5 month warning that they were going to rework keys.
Like I said, killers deserve this one.
A good portion of my 1283 iri heads will be put to use the next while.
they aren't changing keys at all. all that changed was the hatch open time from 30 seconds to 10 seconds. a good team will all be right there at the hatch and THEN use the key. nothing really is being changed substantially about keys yet.... so I still say they are not going to change them. sure hatch changes are good but as i said they'll still be right there and poof they are out.

Currently BT uses the terror radius to know when to trigger. use of undetectable perks and abilities has gotten people upset (like freddy's sleep function or insidious on any killer) BT would not trigger. so now they remove the requirement. the killer can be 100% across the whole map and someone with BT unhooks them they will get the endurance status effect. it will go away after 8/10/12 seconds now instead of what the timer it is at now. so it doesn't matter if the killer is cloaked or the survivor is asleep/oblivious BT will always trigger. all that you have to do is UNHOOK them, pulling out of cages is the only thing that prevents BT now.

Earlier I was playing a game as survivor and I was put against a rank 12 Legion. Despite the toxic perks and addons he had he seemed to be trying to Bloodpoint farm with me and the other survivors. We were all sat healing each other next to 2 hooks and a generator. After a while (I assume when he maxed his Hits out) he knocked us down one by one and nobody thought anything of it. He then hooked 2 of us and camped the other 2 on the floor in case they had Unbreakable. Obviously as expected he won the game without putting in any skill and pretty much by trolling us. I reported him for this but I wonder if anything will actually happen.
To put it simply, can you get banned for tricking survivors into thinking your farming, then kill them? And, if you can get banned do you think it's fair?
where as farming is not playing the game as intended, you and the killer are doing this so you would only get yourself banned if it is a bannable offense. HOWEVER, if you FORCE someone to farm and it is possible, that is a bannable offense. if someone had gone off to do their own gens and what not and the legion kept knocking that person down, bringing them back ad nauseum, this is forcing the farm thus it is bannable but not because he decided to STOP farming at some point.

the first amendment prevents the GOVERNMENT from censoring your speech, even if it's "hate speech" but not if it is intended to direct or cause harm to someone or some people. so you can say that the government sucks and they can't do a damn thing to you. but a private company or person can however tell you what you can say or do on THEIR PLATFORM. that is what the first amendment is, and many americans think it absolves them of wrong doing and that private people MUST listen to them or that companies do not have the ability to tell them to shut up.

I've never made a post on this forum or anywhere really but I'm an EU console player (uk to be specific) and every single game I join, the game disconnects about five-ten mins into playing for no reason. This never happened before the update, I was able to play full games for hours and hours and my wifi is completely fine too - I actually recently got a new provider. Is anyone else having similar problems since the update? Does anyone know how to fix it (if there even is a fix)? I know it's kind of late for me to be playing and I thought that might have had something to do with it, but I was playing earlier too at around 3pm local time and it was having the exact same issues. IDK.
TLDR; game keeps disconnecting me, penalising me for disconnecting, and I really really need the game to work because I spent money buying the update and now I can't even play it properly?
honestly i do not think it's the game you have, i got the same update as you did (buying it only unlocks the ability to play the characters not downloads the assets. I haven't disconnected, and many I watch haven't either. I can't say for sure what it is and yes it still could be the steam install did not go in correctly. i'd suggest if you haven't already to uninstall and re-install DBD and maybe that'll get it back right.

Personally I don't care if they release strong or weak killers as long as it's not every chapter. However (keep in mind I'm a console player so Blight's not good), when the last 3 killers aren't good and you have to sweat your [bad word] off to make them viable, it does make you crave the better killers and WANT bhvr to give us something strong.
Edit: Blight you don't have to sweat as hard for him to be viable, but he's still not good on console.
you make a fair point and i'm not discounting that, my comment that i'm a challenge me kind of player means as a survivor I want to be challenged, not that I want easy road. :) I won't disagree with you on your points because as I've said before and to others you are making valid points.

Not going to bother typing what I have already typed several times. So I am going to re-direct you back to what I said.
I never used the word “found” as I realize that there are instances where the killer inevitably finds the survivor. At least bother to understand the context of what is being said before you put words in my mouth.
Good day.
well if you're being found 10 second off the hook tapping a gen you're not necessarially being tunneled. you are right I DID read what you wrote and thought, why are you touching a gen with the killer so close.. oh yea someone who expects to be left alone for one minute becuase they MIGHT have DS so they could do anything they wanted. now you can't and you have to make choices. oh well get with the program you aren't supposed to have it easy at all. oh well enjoy
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
Every killer player on here who thinks tapping means a survivor isn’t being tunneled doesn’t actually understand how tunneling works.
Let me repeat this for the 1000th time. You do not have to have just come off hook in order to be tunneled. You could have merely 10 seconds AGO been unhooked, that killer has already tracked you down and you’ve already lost your DS.
I don’t think you guys understand that there is always context to every single time a killer wants to tunnel someone out. It isn’t cookie cutter to every situation.
If tapping a gen takes away the 30 seconds you had left on your timer, that you spent trying to find a safe place, only for the killer to track you down then those 30 seconds should remain intact.
Just like you guys don’t have to worry about everyone having DS, because you want to camp at your leisure, we shouldn’t have to worry about tapping a gen at 1% ffs.
if you are pulled off the hook and the killer doesn't come directly back to you but finds you randomly doing a gen means you are being tunneled? good gods man! what the hell is your definition of tunneling?? if the killer comes within 96 meters of you for 1 minute while you do anything after you get off the hook? come on be real. tapping a gen while you're being CHASED is bull crap and you deserve to loose your DS... DS is supposed to deter you from being tunneled or save you if you are downed and picked up again. get real! if you TAP a generator you are FORWARDING the objectives of your side! there is no question there what so ever as you stopped the generator from regressing and thus less time to repair it later. this is the very definition of why they removed the ability to sit on a gen without being touched by the killer.. be glad your locker juke weponization of DS is still a go! IF I were making the change you'd have the maximum amount of time Inner Strength heals you IF you have the perk AND it's activated before DS fades off.

How close do they have to be? I say 16m (same as comradery) is fine.
For how long do they have to stand there? Give them 3 to 5 seconds. More than enough to walk away.
What if the killer is doing another action, such as breaking a pallet or generator? Doing both of those things doesn't take enough time to mean anything in regards to this.
Or what if the killer knows there is a survivor nearby? As long as they start a chase with them, then entity progression of the hook will go as normal. Hence the whole point of the fix. It cannot be abused.
very well the moment a survivor comes infront of the killer he goes into chase even if neither is moving towards the other. you can not make it like you want it because that means the killer can't patrol. if that's the case then survivors can't do gens while someone is on the hook, they have to find something else to do. how does that sound? doesn't sound good to me so I'm not going to push for a 16m dead zone around a hook where the killer can't even move, plus you have to realize that that is a 16 meter sphere radius, so any multi-level map would be affected and puts the survivors in a perfect place to do a gen that the hook is near without a chase going on as the killer couldn't approach from 16 meters without penalty. it would ALSO nullify the terror radius and give SWF's even MORE information! I get it, being camped sucks... but just suck it up buttercup! you are there to work as a team, and if you are being camped and your TEAM decides to work gens and let your sacrifice be that's THEIR decision. if you penalize killers any more than already done you must make survivors feel the need to rescue the one(s) on hook. and not be so much a potato. right now even when you are put on the hook survivors stay on gens till the last minute this player agency doesn't really exist I've been left on the hook through first stage while I watched three people do TWO GENS! came and got me just in time before I died, they brought the killer who then downed me, and rehooked me and I died all so the TEAM could get two gens. great way to treat your teammate, so what will the survivors get if the killer gets punished further, in order to make it worth their while to keep plating?

NGL, he made me DC once already because of how frustrating he was (and also because I had a very strong suspicion that I was facing cheaters that were in constant sprint burst).
The pallets are the worst with him, which sounds very counterintuitive since he is...yaknow, a ranged killer, until you realize that the time it takes him to get into the throw stance coupled with the very slow throwing speed that needs some windup to go reasonably fast means that you can at the very best get 1 or 2 daggers on each palettes, at the price of giving to the survivor so much time that you've basically reset the chase... a chase you'll have to restart with a 110% speed.
Its all around awful. I usually try to grind new killers even if they are buggy or bad, like the twins at release, but this is just way, WAY too frustrating and bad for me to want to continue.
I won't say you are wrong because 1) I haven't played him and 2) your thoughts seem to be on point as well, only thing I will say is 110% is the same speed that huntress is, so he's not that much slower though his throwing issues may make it seem that way. we shall see.

I largely agree and your criticisms are fair, I don't really have an issue with the bugs, i more so mean that the only noticable difference between chapters are the bug fixes, because no one uses the new killers. However, dbd is an exceptionally buggy game, and that is the fault of the devs. I believe they still have the game made in Unreal Engine blueprints, if not, it's in C++ that was written by people who are less than proficient in the language. There's a reason dbd is buggier than other games.
you speak of scott jund's critisims about "blueprints" well that's been answered and debunked. the game is in C++ with the use of SOME areas for the "Blueprint" this is why I put no stock in jund's most criticisms. now here i do agree there are bugs that the devs could have fixed long ago and it's very buggy, I agree they could do more. but without knowing the actual source you can not say for certain what he claims is true etc. but all programmers will use anything they can to do what they need.

No i mean if a survivor has ds they will be the obsession with survivors not having ds means the killer is free to tunnel
the obsession is RANDOM when DS is in play, you have 1 in 4 chances. it used to MAKE the ds user the obsession because it elevated their chances of being the obsession and survivors whined becuase they would be slugged and everyone else not. so it got changed, the perk itself did not truly get nerfed, it was brought inline with what it should have been. for 2 years it was used to bully killers, now survivors have to choose to advance the game or do nothing. the perk itself wasn't changed you will still have the same defense if you are tunneled. but it's bs to be chasing one or two others and then come back upon you again and you still have ds after not being chased and doing gens and healing others. that's bull and you know it. if DS was your shield because of that then sure but now you can't forward the match objectives while having that shield. your choice.
-
though I do not disagree with some of your comments, the idea that other games do not do bug fixes on older content is very much incorrect. Should blight have had the POV then that he now has? YES... but bugs are found all the time in all games and bug fixes happen, even in mmo's and other games as new content will always bring to light other bugs that need fixing or bugs that weren't fixed before because it was unclear why it was happening and now that the why it was happening is known. We players THINK that we know exactly what causes a bug to happen, but we only know what we see as the trigger how ever in programming that is merely the symptom and not the actual why.
You are correct I too think the PTB is a joke, there is not enough people that play on the ptb for them to really know much till after the chapter release/mid-chapter release. it's painfully obvious that there is no reason to truly go there except to try it out early. meh i don't go anymore myself. You are incorrect about the comment in selling this to a competent studio as well because they wouldn't have the same drive to keep it good and might just make even more of a cash grab than anything. it'd probably get worse TBH.

Oh I get it, i think the devs are wrong not letting killers swap killers yet letting survivors pick and choose amongs any number of set up skill sets. Again if he had left the lobby when that happened there would have been no penalty, but since he dc'd in the match itself there was as he broke the rules of the game. he could have just run around doing nothing while letting them finish the gens quickly and get out, maybe get a hook or two and let it go then less time would have been taken up AS WELL as he wouldn't have a penalty and chance corrupting his game. oh yea and he'd have some points for the match instead of loosing it all.

what you are thinking is if there is a network disconnect during MATCH LOAD you will not get a ban, but once the game starts it is there if you intentionally dc or even a network dc.
thing is if he can't take a loss then why is he playing? sure it might be a bad game but it's problematic when people just quit because they think they will not get a fun game. some games are not fun at all, some are great fun, if you pick and choose who knows what you'll miss out on!

I didnt say original design is to do Gen invisible, I meant survivor players' purpose of using DS is to do so. Because of failing design on the Devs part. Do you think survivor actually use BT for anti tunneling purpose? Or use it as a free pass for unsafe unhook and body blocking?
I just have a game with full healing build perk (Botany, WWLF, Autodidact, Empathy) telling from the start. A Nancy snaps into a Gen right after unhooked, ignore my asking for healing. She was the only one with DS.
Survivors barely use DS for anti tunneling.
and by your own quote you prove what i said is true, you did not say that the survivor' player's purpose of using DS is to do so. you specifically typed and copied "With incoming nerf, I realize the old DS's true purpose is to able to do Gen while being invisible, not anti-tunneling." aside from using invisible versus invincible this says that the true purpose and not the way the survivors use it, perhaps you wanted to say that and that is fair we do not always type what we mean but own up to the mistake instead of telling me I am wrong.
Anyways what the survivors or killers want the perk to be, ultimately the DEVS are the one that makes the decisions, not some survivor's fantasy of what it should be. and yes survivors have been WEAPONIZING DS for many years.

I bought the game before Plague released, I know DS was more OP before that. But I just saying the 2019-2020 true use of DS.
your post said that it's ORIGINAL design was to let you be invunerable while doing GENS, this is incorrect however it was a byproduct of them increasing it's usefulness as if you were not the obsession you had to wiggle 30-40% before you could use it. so they changed it according to how survivors wanted it at that time and for 2 years it has been very broken now and it is being mostly fixed to be what it is. you have a choice, what you do with the choice is yours. they are not removing it if you get healed, only if you are healing someone, working on a gen or a totem. these things mean you are not being tunneled so therefore it has served it's purpose. if you're too scared to touch a gen for 1 minute because the killer might round the corner while you're working on a gen go and hide in the corner for that minute! this is a deserved change and brings it in line with what the DEVs want, not what the survivors or even the killer wants!

Some perks are designed for a certain purpose, though after many trials, players able to find another use for the perks and started to exploit it. For example:
Spine chill: many use it to tell if Killer is facing them or not, and they can return to Objective immediately once the perk deactivated.
Borrow time: for anti tunneling purpose, become free healthy state body blocker.
With incoming nerf, I realize the old DS's true purpose is to able to do Gen while being invisible, not anti tunneling. The nerf will make the perk hardly useful since 70% of its purpose is gone. Because to me its purpose for anti-tunneling is pretty weak vs high Tier Killer (I dont think survivor can extend chase for another 10sec with high skill Nurse or Spirit).
Im afraid DS will become a perk just to create an Obsession to prevent soft tunnelers (who play a normal game that has obsession, and tunnel if there is no obsession). DS was never been a perk that anti hard tunnelers anyway.
New DS may reduce overall picked. Which Solo always need a stranger to sacrifice a perk slot for DS. Swf still able to use DS for aggressive (chasing Killer, body block Killer for teammate since they have DS but not able to do Gen).
Yes I dont agree with how old DS work, I didnt use DS for most of my build. But I always pray my teammate having DS while they're being tunneled.
This is just my assume on new DS.
this is hilarious! DS was never intended to let you work on gens for one minute without harm. to know what the the perk was to be look at its original implementation, not just the current one. try again.

Dead hard originally didn't have the dash forward and was just the invincibility frame for a hit, it was very hard to get so they added the dash forward. i don't know what would be good on this, it's in a spot that just removing the frames would be a huge hit to the perk but something else would need to be done.
