    Yup. One week. 7 days.

    Now let's do some comparison.

On average, companies take about 197 days to identify and 69 days to contain a breach according to IBM.

    Source: https://www.varonis.com/blog/data-breach-response-times/

    Again. BHVR took 7 days.

thank you for this information! great find! It echos what I said about the Equifax hack and I didn't even talk about the OPM hack by the Chinese!

  • @pigsaag said:

what is wrong with you. why you tell us you got hacked a week after. what was the point. you could have remain silent and it would have been the same. you are hopeless.

by law they MUST disclose the hack to those that may OR MAY NOT have been affected so that people can take appropriate measures. The SEC can and will fine them if they do not inform the customers of said hack. They need to do so in a timely manner but without investigating to see what has been compromised they can not fully inform us of what was vulnerable. The other aspect is that they are to disclose that action has or has not been taken as well. This can not happen at time line 0. To expand on this, the Equifax hack was not revealed for over 3-6 months AFTER the fact. 1 week is one hell of a turn around.

my apologies the requirement to report is to do so after discovery of said hack not the actual hack itself. and equifax's hack was reported 3-6 months AFTER it was discovered and you want to yell at a company that tells you only 1 week after a hack happens? WOW!

I''ve asked and asked about all these bad server connections lately yet i get no answer, well i'm done waiting, i want to know why everyone, including me, is having such bad lags on this game.

I've put up with it until now, but i've reached my limit. No more games, no more messing around, and no more avoiding it!

Its not my connection because its been fine up until recently, i've tried turning cross-play off but its the same.

And to make sure this message isn't ignore like the others, i'm gonna make sure this message keeps showing up until it gets a proper answer from someone who knows what the heck is going on!

So i'm gonna ask a simple question. Is there someone wrong with the servers?

IT has been said already many times here. You just do not want to understand. your internet connection can be fine, dbd's server internet connection can be fine, but the PATH you take to get to their servers through the internet can be bad and not reach or just cut out becuase of a power outage and by the time you reset your connection the internet has already re-routed around the downed server(S). Your computer could be triggering a firewall event that cuts the connection then, it won't tell you unless you know where it is logged. you could have an issue with your internet security, there are tons of things that could be causing this and most of them are on your computer. Think that if you are fine connecting to a website while the game failed, it is probably something out of the control of you or dbd.

DBD does not have access to credit card or billing info as transactions are managed by steam, windows store, xbox store, etc. There's also no mention of IP, nor is there any mention of cloud ID.

though there is a link between the platform and their account, it is very unlikely but possible they might beable to forge a link between them and the platform and then make purchases via that link. HOWEVER as I said very unlikely as it would probably only let them get auric cells since that's what they deal with. and no gift cards. but if they can do something like that can lead them into your platform account and if you've stored your card info there then they can do damage.

As was said, it's good to know and keep an eye on it, yet doubtful anything will come of it. more or less the issue will be the usernames will be tried along with password permutations to other sites and platforms where more damage can happen.

So what am I missing? The fact that we should just take their word on it?

"They got access to confidential information" - Player ID being the only thing listed that's confidential.

"The leaked information cannot be used to identify users, access their accounts or access any financial/sensitive information" - Yet they tell us not to share the Player cloud ID

Then they tell us "As a precaution you should still watch for abnormal activity on your accounts" - If nothing important was stolen, then why?

the percautionary warning is them covering their butts! they tell you to be cautious and keep an eye on your accounts because of the fact that there are ways to trace data to other more sensitive information depending on how you have passwords and usernames set. There is a great deal of other things happening, also they did not mention cloud ID as being compromised which is not the same as player id. IF you have made an account with behavior, this is where most of this data is coming from and it is normal for companies to get hit, and they go for the smaller ones because people "don't care" and re-use passwords and usernames/emails for more sensitive places.

I'm unsure how long MMR system has been running in the background but it might be for over a year for all we know. Besides, if you get unfair matches like this, you'll slowly get put to where you belong. It needs time to settle down.

If someone that is brand new to this game is constantly being beaten because MMR does not know that it shouldn't put them in matches with people that have "higher skill" these new players will eventually leave and probably before they "even" out. this is what happened last time. players with 2 hours of play time and I mean litterally 2 hours where you have played maybe 4 games, are being placed in matches with people that have played 2K+ hours. it's as if they just turned off match making once again and let it willy nilly place people in hopes it'll even out. plus this skill based match making system is so secretive that there is no way that we, the players can have confidence in what is done. as it is right now the ranking system is better than nothing even though it is flawed and supposedly the system has been watching for the better part of 6 or 8 months but it's "WATCHING" and recording from a flawed system thus it's data is quite possibly incorrect and thus will make match making on this new system irrelevant. This system should treat someone like the OP as brand new since there is little data and not throw them against highly skilled players.

I am not saying that it has to be perfect but for us to be confident we will get a good match we need to know and understand how this system works, and a vague message saying that this is based on how you preform against a specific killer does not instill confidence in the game. I'm a fair to middling survivor honestly I'm not great what so ever, but because of this if i'm placed against high ranked nurses which I usually don't make it out, how is this fair? but they'll say all is working as intended as they did for almost a month last time before admitting there was a problem and "removed" this skill based matchmaking. IT felt last time as if it was just making any matching it wanted but they said it was working as intended for a month then something happened?

Behavior: you need to have something to show us that this is working, your word that it is working DOES not instill confidence in this. hiding the matching numbers makes it easy for you to brush off complaints and make us wonder if we should keep playing. You keep saying that if you reveal how it works it'll make it so that people can game the system, but it also will give us confidence that we know the system is working even if it is being gamed. You will always have people that seek the advantage. but if that means they throw the matches what difference is it now? and a 24 hour test is not enough but you know this as well as we do and you seem unwilling to get people from widely different skill levels to participate in a beta with some sort of incentive to do so, for the time that is required. You have ways to contact us directly and invite specific people in a large enough sample to agree to a specific test of the system over a long period of time. you seem unwilling to listen to the feed back from players in regards to the game from normal ptb's and this 24 hour test will only show us that you've turned off match making without anything to put in it's place due to the level of confidence in this game. look to the last 3 major patches and the backlash of survivors quitting for a while then killers doing the same and survivors coming back then survivors again quitting the game. it's not because they are being petulant but they are showing you that they do not like what has been done.

Look at my play record, at this point of the rift i'm usually in the 30's or 40's of the rift yet i'm only at tier 22 and haven't played for several days. I normaly purchase or get an expansion within 3-4 days of it being released (DLC) yet I waited over 2 months to get the twins DLC. it wasn't a money issue, it was my confidence in your ability to produce a product worth purchasing, when I felt it was worth purchasing I did so.

  • yea that was the game trying to translate you being in the same space as feng after you were hit. happens when you're colliding with things... remember space billy?

Some players use third party softwate to turn the gamma up a lot, basically to make survivors more visible and to spot them if they try to hide, I noticed there are no gamma options on the game so I wonder if it's something that wasn't supposed to be in the game or not?

it is not supposed to be like that, but there is little that can be done when you adjust your contrast settings outside of the game..... I wonder how those players would play if they didn't have that control lol.

For God's sake dead by daylight do something stop adding cosmetics and ignoring people trying to make the game a better place please stop all the CAMPING I can't play a normal game and be happy and have fun when for the killer to win they have to stay around the hook and camp.

Like honestly please do something put a timer of how long they can stay around the hook for for deduct their blood points if they stay around the hook for too long like they do like honestly if anyone else agrees please let me know like I'm tired of this this game isn't fun anymore because of that the game developers don't look through these enough and can't see that this is an issue this game simply isn't fun anymore.

I can't really do anything to stop it or prevent it decisive strike hardly works no perks can overpower the camping.

you are being idiotic. how about this, when a killer hooks a survivor, all unhooked survivors must go to equidistant corners of the map, face the wall and count for 20 seconds, meanwhile the killrs will go to the 4th equidistant corner, face the wall for 25 seconds before moving again. we will also make sure there is coding that if any of the active players are moving before their allotted time is up they will be heavily penalized by being placed at rank one with 0 perks and 0 items for 10 days. how's that? oh yea you can't drank from rank 1 achieved this way for those 10 days, not even rank reset will do it.

YES lets make everything handed to the survivors on a silver platter... why not skip the PVP aspect! make the game a 4vCPU game where you are the only living survivor and killer plus three survivors are AI. you can even touch a gen for one tenth of a second and get them completed once the 5th gen is completed the doors open and you are awarded 32K blood points, all your items are given back to you and given rank one for that one win. YEA! you have now won DBD you are refunded your purchase price and anything purchased in the game after the change.

Am I being sarcastic enough? COME ON what the hell do you want? if killers can't play, what's the point? so why don't we killers take a week off, have the devs shut the killer role down, no replacements for 1 week how would you like your experience then? you wouldn't because you wouldn't be playing a game but holding M1 simulator.

Still man, people that want to give up kill themselves on the hook and don't get a punishment. Idk if the game should have it since people that actually get disconnected get punished and the others have another way of getting out that doesn't give them a temporary ban.

first of all, you may think your internet is fine, but is your computer? steam disconnects you if it disconnects, could be your computer reset your network connection, this does happen btw. You could get a disconnection some where down the line and still it would take days of forensic network techs pouring over logs from several different routers. there is no way for anyone to anticipate network outages but if you get one then another, you might want to reconsider playing a network game till your network connections settle down. ya know?

as was stated, it is possible to disconnect manually and the game and servers can not decide if that is what happened intenionally or accidentally thus applies a penalty. if you are on an unstable network connection you should not continue playing, because if this were a raid in an mmo or other game you'd be kicked from the team till you could report to them things are stable enough.

The complaints about camping, tunneling, etc dont seem to be sinking in with the devs after years of hearing about it. Perhaps there needs to bebl other considerations done by the community to get them to realize people are fed up with the intended toxic game play. Any suggestions?

sure, here is one: stop playing the game and buying DLC content and skins. This is what will get them to notice when enough do it and continue to do it. It is your right to decide to stop playing for what ever reason, but camping is RARELY good for the killer but it can be. Tunneling is the worst of things but it is a valid strat though i'd prefer to tunnel down those that are the better players in the game as that means it's easier later. Slugging, well I will drop someone because that means the slugged survivor must use unbreakable or someone must get off a gen to go heal and get that survivor up. hey look at that! it's a strategy! oh what to do about when you have 4 slugs? well you hook the one you know of and hope the others hadn't crawled to some silly corner you can't find. either way the match will be over after the last person bleeds out at max 4 minutes. If your team was wiped and slugged then your game play might not be up to snuff otherwise no one would get downed.

As it stands you can not be labeled as harassing by just clicking your flashlight or teabagging... the devs have also stated this.

  • @saltmineinaction said:

Lately it has come to my attention that a lot of survivor and killer players are playing the game in a very toxic way, like not helping teammates, body blocking each other and the killer, or simple disconnecting after being downed 1 time. Same goes for killers, they are starting to camp way more often to secure kills since survivors are being way too toxic, which results in killers camping and also not wanting to play anymore -> longer queue times.

Things like this should be dealt against more with penalties. why is there a report option if nothing will be done against it?

Not only do you ruin the game play for yourself, also the people you are playing with and against. I'm personally just a fun gamer, idc about ranks etc. I just wanna play the game like it has to be played without any toxic ######### and stuff. Also the higher the survivor rank, the more toxic they are.

Please do something about this, and if you know you play toxic, know that you ruin the game for a lot of us who wanna play normal or even farm with killers for points.

first of all as was said, camping, slugging and tunneling are mechanics that the killer can use and are not reportable. body blocking as the killer is not reportable if they don't do it for long periods of time. This has been stated many times.

If you encounter something in the game that you feel is against the rules get a recording of the action and after reviewing the game rules (you can find them here on this forum, I WILL NOT GET IT FOR YOU) then submit your ticket. Disconnecting is not punished hard enough when the leave match functionality is used. the game can see when that button is used and should assess a bigger penalty. keep the lower penalties for the network disconnections though as that is another way someone can make themselves dc but it's hard to determine where that is. but the devs are who run the game and I will support their decisions even if I disagree with them.

  • @Caleaha said:

Body blocking is a tactic that isn't always successful. I've smacked would be body blockers and sometimes they run because they don't want to go down. Other times I have one or 2 new folks downed for me to go back. Sometimes they win and the fella on my shoulder gets free. Well, time to hunt.

As a survivor getting body blocked it peeves me off. I've been blocked by survivors when I've tried to flee and blocked by killers when EGC is happening. Not cool. Kill me and hook me, it's faster.

Camping is always an issue and it annoys me. As I play with friends if one is hooked and the killer is camping we switch gears from rescue to genny rush, hoping when the last genny is done our friend can be rescued. I tend to get cheeky and do the genny closest to killer to try and draw them away. It doesn't always work.

Rushing the killer with a gate open does seem to work sometimes. Not always. Sometimes we play musical hook!

I took several month break from the game and came back last night.

Killers! Don't just hang around 1 building and then quit when a generator gets done. Seriously. 2 of my friends pretty much bumped into Smiley Face one freaked and bolted the other fled then came back. Ghostface was hardcore circling the main house in the cornfield. Nothing deviated him. We get a gen done and game over.

Next was a Micheal and we have a new player. I joke about sacrificing her to escape. Michael is stalking her as we do genies. Our veteran player goes in to distract him and let's him stalk him. Get a second gen done and game over. Like really?

welcome to the killer's world of first one down then D/C! first hook D/C! lots of things happen and what you describe happens on the survivor side as well. as a killer I used to give the other three a break and occasionally still do if someone d/c's. now, I go to town as I need to get my emblem points. too bad, so sorry you had someone on your team that decided they didn't like that I won that chase quickly!

  • @tyshie_xo said:

The thought I have for camping. Would be if the killer is face camping or still inside heartbeat radius the survivor hooked would not have their health continue to go down.

so I guess legion's Iri button would be even more useless, I guess distressing would be even more useless, this idea just won't let the killer play the game. you get a hook they have no knowledge exactly how far out their TR goes and if it's intersecting with a hooked survivor, and any gens within the TR of the hook would not be able to be defended. I guess all you want is easy wins, how about no killers in the queue, would you like that?

is it oke to quit out because of this? or what else could i do....

I would not blame you if it was affecting you, but I will say if you do you still should not complain about the time out you get for doing so. Here is why: this is part of the game (flashlights) and they will occasionally be used in ways not intended. there is no way to know what they are doing or why. I would recommend speaking to a doctor about this specific issue. maybe something can be done to help.

Combined with the hashtag in Korean they put on their latest post, it's definitely someone of Korean origin. Imagine if it's a K-pop idle xd. We need the MMR system BHVR. I'm so tired of dealing with teammates that contribute very little and players that give up whenever the killer isn't bad at the game, or when things don't go their way. I like DBD, I want to play DBD, but every time I play other survivors cause the solo survivor experience to be terrible. I don't expect everyone to be able to run killers for 5 gens, but most players can't even run the killer for 10 seconds, or even do gens. Please release a working MMR soon.

no we don't need the MMR system, we need a WORKING well THOUGHT out VERIFIABLE MMR system. remember the last time where for 2-3 weeks we were being told that MMR was working just fine and finally they admitted that it wasn't working, reverted it back and said they are working to fix the system? I do, and my honest opinion is before they just turned off the match making system to make it fully random, and let us play thinking it was working saying it'll take time to fix up (after 1-2 months of watching our game play in the background). Expectation is not high, it's not even low because of what happened prior and still no information currently coupled with the two major patches that were lack luster and buggy.

Do you tell your dog that just ate one slipper vs the two normally eaten "Good dog"? no you don't you keep working to make sure the dog knows what was done wrong and when they do not eat even part of that slipper you "good dog" them.

Why don't they disable the DC penalty till they fix all the bugs

very few of the bugs caused crash issues so why should they? becuase you decided to break the rules they should disable it so you can keep breaking the rules? lol you're funny.

  • The HUD/UI is still not very useful.

    1) You have a large area of real estate on the monitor dedicated to the Power/Item and add ons, there is no information to be gained from these while in the match, you can't even mouse over them, thus they should not be so large but more like they were previously as it does give information to remind you what is going on.

    2) The survivors in a tower at the lower right to the middle of the right side is still not useful as you have to SCAN them more than a glance to see what is going on with them. Also the bar that shows how much hook time is left is still so tiny that you have to concentrate to see it which tears you away from possible skill checks, killer coming at you, and other things as a survivor and as a killer it takes too much time to do this you loose sight of where you are going and what you are doing.

    3) The small gen counter is squished between the line border of the huge power/item area and the tower of survivors. this means that it's easy to miss or losse between all the information there again causing you to take concentration away from the game just to see how many gens. and when the gens get done, it turns into what looks like a 5th survivor escaping! THIS is very confusing and very distracting on both sides.

    4) The scoring events on the right hand side cause confusion when you have a status effect there AS WELL. though it is a good place to do it I'd recommend ramping the size of the status icons up to differentiate them from the scoring effects.

    5) the actual skill check UI piece, this is acctually quite well done and it is better, could be a tiny bit bigger but even the scalers only go up to 100% so you only have the choice of shrinking it.

What I recommend is this: survivor portraits line the bottom of the screen as they did, and something that makes it easy to see at a glance they are injured or hooked etc, a border line, then on top of that the gen counter and the power/item this is how others have suggested and it gives you all the information you need (though i'd shrink the portraits a bit) in a match at a glance and doesn't take away from watching the main area of the screen. I'd also recommend not using the color portraits of the survivors because the cosmetics they can wear sometimes make them look very different and it could be confusing. The white silhouette style that was before is perfect as it stands out and gives great information and any bit of color could easily have a difference to be seen. I'd still leave the scoring points to the right (or move them to the left. but leave the status info on the right but make it bigger to a point, it doesn't have to be THAT big. The skill check wheel let it be or allow us to scale it bigger if we wanted.

Actually it wasn't half assed at all. please tell me you have a working, programed solution to this? I am tired of people say how bad the system is, when they implemented the best option they had access to in order to deter the most egregious game exploits to dc. I've seen streamers intentionally kill DBD to "CRASH" the game and tried to play it off for pity points by their viewers. litterally they said " See? the game crashed and I am penalized." Funny thing, the viewers actually called his ass out and left his channel he went from 20 watching to 9 when he did that and then 8 when I left! If you have a better solution then present it to behavior!

I am removed from a match, because YOUR game crashed, and I have a DC penalty, yeah it's only like five mins sure but that's not the point, your engine failed and now I'm punished for it? Makes sense...

Why did the game crash? did you investigate with their logs and your windows logs? I have had very few crashes of dbd, one in the last 10 months now, and before that it was almost 5 months, oh btw I investigated and all program crashes were related to windows making a call on the video card that caused the crash. Sure it came from the game but it was not the game that messed up, windows messed the call up. See that is the problem people see a program crash and blame the program but they lack the necessary information to research what the cause is because they 1) don't want to learn, 2) in some instances like dbd players in general want to blame the program that crashed and 3) have not wanted to look if they know how. If you have a game engine crash, you best send the report in and then submit a bug ticket so the devs can review the information and perhaps find out if the error that caused the crash is fixable or if it is client's computer that has the issue. One thing that can be possibly done if it's a crash is they might be able to remove the marks of disconnect from the account (not sure if the can) once you report it, but it is worth asking.

remember what the devs have talked about is not a per match result, but an average. most killers do not care if they get a 4k EVERY match, but they do care when they get robbed of the 4k by the game mechanics etc. their hard work should be rewarded yes and it IS hard work. gotta remember most survivor mains expect 4 man survival each match, yet many of them don't truly expect that, but get upset when game mechanics rob them of that survival rate. this is not something you should ask only the killer mains but the group as a whole. and please remember those that post here are the vocal minority of the players of this game. So responses here may be indicative of but not be what everyone wants.

If 2k/2e is balanced then Leatherface is the prime example of it. He can guarantee a 2k by pure facecamping. You heard it devs?

    @AhoyWolf said:

Developers are already trying to get the golden 50/50 ratio, that's why Freddy is getting nerfed, I think he has sometihng around ~70% kill rate from the latest stats?

the devs did not say every match should be a 2K and 2 escape. that should be the AVERAGE. the "KILL" rate you talk about is a flawed metric and does not account disconnects, quitting and other things. so it is a bad metric to use, unfortunately they do use it.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

Emblems don't reflect actual play just milestones hit during the match.

they affect your ranking as they determine if you go up, down or stay the same. however you are correct they don't reflect actual play for instance if you camp a survivor devout will go down so if you were just one the bottom end of a silver and you camped you will get a bronze in that category. you can earn 32K straight up and still not get a double pip depending on rank and your emblem status.

  • @PodgeNotRodge said:

I mean it needs a change. Yes. But does it need the current idea change, fuckn hell no. And let me explain why:

Current change is basically now: Once unhooked, you have 1 minute of DS at tier 3 so if you go down by tunneling, you get an escape of shoulder free card. But doing literally anything will negate it. Ok. So same as before but now you cant do anything.

Heres why that doesnt work for survivor more than it does for killer.

A survivor with 1 minute DS must now make a choice.

Option 1: Be useless for a full minute doing nothing to progress the team for the sake of holding on to DS. Deliberately get tunneled but killer picks up on this... slug. Useless anyways.

Option two: Waste DS in that split second thinking the killer is going for someone else, attempt heal, 20 to 30 seconds later, killer spots you, downs you. DS useless.

Option 3: jump in and out of a locker in Hope's the killer will grab you. Killer realises you're being useless... DS useless.

Option 4: On the off chance you may or may not have interacted with something if the killer comes back to you after 40 seconds and downs you. Get slugged on the off chance killer still thinks you have DS... DS useless.

Or Option 5: You do get tunneled and by some miracle not slugged.

So I ask... how is making a survivor perk benefit the killer more a good thing? I mean, it's now made to be an "Anti-Tunnel" perk now but all that is defeated by simply slugging... as it was before change. I get it, I play mostly killer and I dislike eating DS's when I dont deliberately tunnel. I am guilty of slugging sometimes depending on how much they pissed me off. Other times I will deliberately eat a DS.

But this change is dogshit for survivors and now it's gone from a garunteed survivor freebie to a garunteed win win killer freebie. Cause 4 out of these 5 options benefit killer more than survivors. And if you had more than one with DS at once, that's twice as bad for them.

I say again, this needs a good balanced change. Not this current idea that makes them be punished if you potato for a minute, or punished cause you tried doing something but got tunneled 30 seconds later.

this does NOT benefit the killer what so ever. what was this nonsense about letting a killer's power positively affect a survivor? that's nonsense!!! no other killer powers directly benefit the survivors, yet clown's now does. hmmm

Right now, killers are curb-stomping survivors. Sure there is a hit-box issue causing part of it, but even before that, survivors, I felt, were underpowered. I just started keeping track of every game I play on DBD so we have data to actually see what's happening to survivors. There will need to be a lot more games statistics recorded to get an accurate view of what's happening. But even before this, I rarely saw 2 survivors escape. With how easy Killers have it right now, it's definitely not the time to nerf anything survivor sided.,

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/61IG7PQFKIRW/image.png

5 matches out of 10's of thousands..... that puts your numbers into question. a good sample size would be about 1000 matches RANDOMLY sampled from those 10's of thousands, not just what you experienced. and what you experience is NOT the same as what is statistically accurate. when you take even 1000 samples from ONE source within the group you taint the sample. so if you were to take 1000 of YOUR matches that is not going to be accurate where as 1000 at random would be. DS tweak does not change it's functionality it however does change how it has been used previously, and the new Object is actually much more powerful, especially if it is wielded by the NON obsession.

But the hit registration before dedicated server introduction was even worse and directly rewarded killers with bad connection..

that is a latency issue, the desync issue is different and worse all together. there will always be latency but the desync issues are worse because of how we have to avoid the killer as survivor.

if the game went in and on steam showed the "FIRST" run windows and set up, that is because of the hotfix that went in this past tuesday. if it uninstalled the game from steam but not from your computer this is an issue with steam as was mentioned earlier and you will need to contact steam if it will not reinstall again.

Like I'm trying to play the game and people just suicide on hook it's starting to not be fun anymore this ffing community if makeing this polished turd not even enjoyable anymore like why is this a normal thing now its straight out dumb and ruining the experience for everyone. I can't even enjoy the event because poeple die on first hook and I can't get the bp for putting them on different hooks

they are not abusing anything, they are not exploiting anything as the functionality to attempt to escape the hook is in the game in both perk and actions. and it is an active choice for players to decide not to struggle and that's fine with me. you still get staging blood points, you get hook blood points, and you get sac blood points. I'm sorry, but your being upset becuase you are missing blood points holds no water.

Funny how we dont constantly see threads about how the Killers constantly DC. Almost like the game is skewed towards Killers and not much fun for Survivors.

I'm my experience as a main survivor with a few hundred hours in the game, survivor play has very high points when you make good plays and have competent teammates but, those games are scarce. Mostly it's just getting wrecked by Killers, especially after this last update.

Realizing Myers has broken mirror or, Oni is using the Glove reveal addon, Wraith also has reveal addon, BBQ, Nurse's Calling, Undying, Legion, ect.

Very oppressive when you cant make plays without being discovered damn near every time.

Add dirty tactics like, camping hooks, tunneling, ect. Survivor play can very quickly become less than fun.

Funny there are many survivors complaining about it, even though they get the escape blood points where as the killer does not get the points for killing the dc'd survivor in the CORRECT amount and CORRECT categories. but less complain becuase the survivors get blood points applied and emblem progress that is propper and usually safties them.

  • It would be great if you could because that'd be one hell of an AI that could understand what players are thinking and to know the difference between the intentional power down of a router vs a power outage. It is a challenge at that! Oh yea... what about the disconnect of a cable vs power outage? or using windows to lock the internet off? that is the question of how to determine this. Oh I'll tell you this network routers log a disconnection the same if there is power outage or the router before it goes down, IF you can get the logs to that specific router.

  • @Imagine_Milk said:

So where I live, it is snowing. And usually, when it snows I lose connection to the server and I disconnect because of something that I can't control. I understand that DC penalties were created to prevent people from DCing too much and joining and do the same thing consistently. But the one problem with this is that there is no real way to determine whether the Disconnect purpose was intentional or it was something that cant be controlled so as an internet outage. I do not want to have this happen to me a lot anymore because if it does I could end up becoming banned from this game temporarily or permanently and I do not want that to happen to me. So, are Dc penalties really necessary?

Come up with the coding for it and make it 100% able to determine if there is an intentional disconnect of the network cable or software disconnect on their computer.... this is why they are not able to make it so that they can allow penalties because of network connections. now I have been playing during peak times and off peak times and I rarely disconnect and when I do it's mostly on my end or my isp. i've disconnected once in the last nine months and the time that happened it was my windows trying to make a call to my video card and the the game crashed because of that.

Arrogance? Stop telling others how to play? All of which you just did or portrayed in this post. My first post was about Dc's and an example of a game I had. Not anywhere in it did I ask for your opinion on the matter. Hold up... Nope Just checked sure didn't It's common fukin sense that if I don't want healed and leave the heal multiple times/ heal myself - I DON'T WANT FUKIN HEALED BY YOU! DUH. Thanks for your input on the matter I will forget it in about 5 minutes after I click on another post.

you just said it "Nope Just checked sure didn't It's common fukin sense that if I don't want healed and leave the heal multiple times/ heal myself - I DON'T WANT FUKIN HEALED BY YOU! DUH" lol.... that is the arrogance and you telling people how to play. if you don't like it keep running away from them. stay off gens and avoid it all together. I told you, even I would not know what you really want. I've seen people try and pressure me to stop self-caring just because they wanted the heal, not knowing how much of the heal I have left and what I am trying to do. this is the same as what you are doing here on the forums, you are trying to tell people if you see someone run away from a heal, it's because they want resilience to continue! I have only told you that your intentions are not told to others and I commented that you have 3 options, 1) stop playing alone, 2) accept people will not know what you are doing when you are playing solo or 3) play with a 4 man swf with communications so you can communicate to others what is going on, this is not telling you how to play it is objectively looking at what you've said and suggestions given so you can use or ignore it but your issue is your arrogance thinking everyone knows what you want when you can't tell you. You did not ask for my opinion, but you posted your RANT and opinion on a public forum of which I am free to respond if I so desire are you saying I can not respond to you that's a laugh.

Your still missing the point of me stopping them from healing me to heal them, then running away from them, healing myself but staying injured after the heal, heading to a gen, how many clues do you need???? She tapped me anyway. let me guess you would have followed and tapped after all those signs?

in that case you are oblivious that your intentions are not being READ properly. you think they are thinking the same way you are, THEY ARE NOT this was obvious by your first post. If I were to sit there crouching behind a rock and you saw me doing that would you know WHY I'm doing it? do I perhaps know something you do not? am I just goofing off? what? you tell me, from what you see of my character I could easily have wedged something in to keep the character crouched. this is where you fail, you think that you know what I am doing just because you know what you would do, and that is not true. Your explanation shows exactly this and your ARROGANCE that you feel everyone thinks your way. Sure be mad at the player for not doing what you thought was right but you are wrong, that person could EASILY misinterpret your actions and what they are seeing. you are looking at their actions as if your actions were well known, honestly if you did this to me even after hearing it, i'd be wondering what the hell you are doing... I don't know your load out, for all I know you have botany knowledge and not resilience. you could have spin chill and the killer is bearing down on us with no terror radius. STOP telling others how to play and learn to play around them or just play with a full 4 stack swf with comms that way there is no confusion!

Try learning to read statistics as you can't tell me that the game lost 25,000 player on average during peak hours during November.

You need to stop obfuscating as instead of directly taking on my questions you keep going to stuff that has nothing to do with what I am talking about.

AGAIN 25,000 players were lost on average during peak hours in November.

Even in a vacuum it doesn't look good.

You must be one of behavior's bean counters that said waiting to release a bugged chapter is bad for business. but guess what, you only see numbers, not the meaning nor the why and these two are what statistics is to explain. I obfuscate nothing, I explained possible meanings and why what you showed can not be directly compared. You just don't want to accept what I say and I won't sway you, but know this you are now being equated with Behavior's accountants the people behind the bugged chapter release!

First off I was healing myself with the med kit not my the yui. I healed the yui regular as I need the med kit for my own 99. Also no need to justify anything to you she kept following me around like a puppy to finish my heal me stopping at the end should have been obviious why would I heal for so long then say oh can can tap my butt real quick for 1 second. really bro?? get out

still they DO NOT know you are not using the kit or not. it just says you are healing them. so they see gold on the bar and you had a med kit, the assumption would be the med kit is being used.

I DC if the killer is toxic. There's way too many toxic killers out there now especially with the giant hotboxes they've had. And they just tunnel now cause thats the only way some killers can get a 4k. They just shake there heads thinking they're good and get salty when you keep pallet stunning them. I'm not saying all killers are like this but there's just way too many out there right now that are.

sure break the rules because you don't like something that is within the rules. enjoy your timeouts, I feel no sympathy for you.

    @chargernick85 said:

Ya lots of dc'ing teamates I even got a yui to dc. My favorite survivor perk is resilience so after my first run in with the killer I like to 99 my health to repair, heal, or sabo faster other wise I'm just wasting a perk slot. So I bring a med kit most games to do this. Well a yui insisted on healing me and I stopped her and quick healed her to show that I had the perk. She followed me and watched me use me med kit all the way to 99 and rolled her head at me. Then continued following me and came up behind me and tap heal me. I was beyond fukin pissed. Like you stupid fukin ok then we go to a gen and whole behold killer comes right before we finish wow if we had that 9% gen complete. Killer downs her I run up to hook and booty dance in her face fer about 10 secs and d king rescues she dc's. I have tried to let teamates heal me to 99 or close but it backfires in solo play a skill check pops up for them every time I try to stop them and the killer comes. So med kit best way it seperates us and its not like I'm self caring.

I'll say this: you can not see what perk you are using, a medkit already makes the heal bar gold, there is nothing that pops up on the other screen that says oh they are using resilience. so when you "showed" them you healed intentionally to 99, they probably thought your kit ran out! guess what... you got mad at the wrong person. think about this: people say "self-care is crap, it's a waste of a perk slot" and other such things. guess what.... that person has taken it to heart and wanted to be a good teammate and heal you like they are supposed to do. If you want clear communication use discord and only swf with a four stack, otherwise you get people that want to heal and do not understand that the down talk about self-care is crap and what not.

I can see your point on it but I guess I can’t see this issue as fully black and white. What if the killer or a survivor is a hacker? Should you still not DC cause of the others? I’m sure never DCing is not the only option. Just saying it’s not black and white.

it is Black and White. if it is against the rules do not do it. and disconnecting IS against the rules of the game. what most people feel are hacks in general are either a bug that happened, or something else. I was once told that I used wall hacks because I found them every time. thing is I had bbq AND nurses on my huntress at the time. Ofcourse I can see where you are! I pointed this out they flat out denied that and kept accusing me, I told them to REPORT me for this and submit their evidence. Fact is I got damn lucky on a couple hatchet throws, and they were one of those that feels healing is not needed. the worst I've done is changed my killer and survivor portraits, the item and add on's as well as perks icons. beyond that I don't use anything outside of that.

So honestly if there is some cheating, get proof of it and then submit a ticket with said proof. (do not name drop/shame here on the forums) also do not DC consider this, if you don't want to continue let the killer hook you once and then be done with it using in match functionality as you can choose to try to escape the hook, and you can choose not to struggle.

This friggin' disconnecting by the server when we're playing killer needs to stop. It disconnected me a few hours ago making me lose tons of progress, blood points, xp, addons and my offering when I was close to winning. And just now I decided to try again as killer, and I had my third hooked survivor and was in a chase and got disconnected.

Again the game took my progress, points, addons and offering and even now blocks me from match making even though it's the server's fault.

This game better make up for our time and xp and stuff. 50k consolation prize a day doesn't cut it when it's taking all our progress and stuff from us.

It's a bad server design by the game developers.

did you submit a ticket regarding this? the dc penalty is set for any dc because that is the easiest way to catch those more adept with their pc as well as the out of match button ones. I'm sorry you were beset by this but if you do not inform them of the issue you, yourself experienced they can't even address it. Ticket system is best but you can use the bug forum here as well.

    @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1951847#Comment_1951847

And I'm not making a moral judgement on people feeling like they want to quit matches. I'm just saying if that is the case, said people should considering quitting the game. It sounds like it would be win/win for everyone if they did? There are people who are not that unhappy with the game and still having fun playing it. They are sabotaged by people who are NOT having fun and quitting matches and thus sabotaging everyone else.

Some things I see in black and white. If one isn't having fun, don't play the game. If one chooses to play knowing the rules (and the issues currently ongoing) they ethically should finish the match. It is bad sportsmanship to do otherwise. We cannot control problems external to ourselves, but we can take pride in our personal brand and control those things which are internal.

Thus, if I start a game, I'm going to finish it (whether I'm having fun or not). If I find I'm not having fun on a regular basis, I take a break from the game. I mean really, if people are that unhappy with Dead by Daylight currently, it makes more sense to take a break and play something else until whatever issues are bothering them are resolved.

I agree with you, except to clarify your statement of "If one chooses to play knowing the rules (and the issues currently ongoing) they ethically should finish the match." I would add in the following "with in match functionality" after the word match. the reason I offer this is in the game you make many choices, one of which can be to try to get off the hook and another is to struggle or not to struggle.

if you get completion of objectives and dc you loose that for most challenges

If they had gained the 25 thousand instead of lost it in November they would be higher then R6S's peak they are in the same ballpark.

You still haven't explained the 25k LOSS in NOVEMBER.

At this point I'm responding to see how long your responses will be as you aren't changing my mind.

Nothing you have said has convinced me that DBD isn't losing players because of its quality.

Do try to learn and understand statistics more and you will understand how you are missing the key part when comparing Apples to Oranges.

  • @Buckoben said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1950275#Comment_1950275

again with obfuscation, when RS6 and Rust are directly comparable please tell me why DBD doesn't match other gaming trends then?

Why didn't any other game lose a THIRD of it's audience in November. This is not a few K here in there this 1/3 of the audience at peak hours.

It's almost like the game is falling apart at the seems and it has nothing to do with outside influences.

really? do you have a way to make the scales equal as well as looking at LOCAL areas (ie countries) and players by country area as well to see where the players are? for instance using localization IF (this is estimations and guess not hard facts but illustrates what you are not understanding) Game A has a total of 70K users and 50K are in one country and 20K over the world. Game B has 70K users and 20K in one country and 50K spread out over the world. Now if the one country shows a drop of 10K in that one country and the gain of players in the other regions of the world are 10% of the numbers you will see 2K gained in Game A, and 5K gained in Game B. thus you see an overall dip of 8K in Game A and an overall dip of 5K in Game B. Now factor in other issues (Game A has a falling out over a bad patch and thus they loose another 5K in the main country. and the 10% gain in other countries drops to 0% for the same reason in the rest world thus there is now a 15K drop overall instead of 8K. this new information then leads to those players trying GAME B, so thus add 15K to GAME B and now you have a 10K increase because of things that happened to GAME A. This is what I am talking about, looking at one graph of one game and speaking to what is going on with that game does work because the scales and over all numbers are being used. how ever when you compare to other games you have to make sure you use the same judgement criteria which can not just be number of players. lots of factors.

Statistics is a VERY funky and pecular and can be rotated and pivoted around to show what you want unless you make sure to be specific. If you can not understand this then you can not understand how to know what these graphs tell the people that use them. Most people will not understand it and make incorrect opinions and conclusions to the data that is seen.

  • @Buckoben said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1950195#Comment_1950195

There is a direct coloration with the game's quality and its audience.

Stop trying to obfuscate and answer my original question why aren't other games affected by covid and it only affects DBD's playerbase?

And I don't need an essay.

so what part of statistics did you not understand? in order to truly use them you must be looking at the SAME scale and SAME areas affected. so if you have one game that has a scale of 10K per area and another that has a scale of 100K per area (on the graph) you will not see the same numbers. and if you do not account for localization of the data you will not be able to look at localization of issues. so if a game is highly localizaed in the united states AND there is something (covid/holiday season etc) that affects the numbers, if you do not look at the corresponding localization area then you will see inconstant results. ALSO for a game where the graphical areas are broken down to 5-10K and one local area (us, gb, mx, or other countries) and no corresponding increase in the other areas you see larger dips than you do when the scale is 100K and you get the same localization dip but also have a corresponding increase in the other areas you can then see an uptick instead of a down tick.

THERE I removed any specification about WHERE we were talking about, and it still makes sense. you are the one trying to argue that apples are actually oranges when they are not.

  • @Buckoben said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1950162#Comment_1950162

    You didn't answer my question.

Why didn't they go down if Covid is the sole reason why DBD did.

If that was the case you would see most games would have similar fall offs, but that isn't true.

Maybe the game has seen massive dips in quality in the last couple of months causing massive dips in the player base.

Also you can see the games I mention have grown GROWN!?! in the past months can you explain that, is it Covid?

if you have a LARGE world wide audience and one area has say a drop of 5-7K and then around the world there is a gain of 7-9K that's a 0-2K INCREASE WORLD WIDE vice a decrease. so YES I did answer it, you obviously didn't read it because it is there. This is why Statistics can be easily manipulated to saw WHAT ever you want it to. when you do not compare same scale, as well as same areas you will find that while one thing could be loosing large numbers and another gaining numbers. Let me make it clear:

Dead by Daylight has currently a max of 40-50K players, and a mean of about 30K if before the dip it was 50-60K players and a mean of 35-40K and in ONE local area things change (the US) where a good number of people can't play as much, and there is no corresponding balancing numbers outside of the US you see that there is a huge drop.

HOWEVER if you take a game that is very heavily uniformly world wide at 100K mean that self same 5-10K drop from the US even then is a much less issue and even a non-issue if the rest of the world increases the numbers playing by 7-12K you get an UPTICK world wide. so please lets look at SCALE and localization before talking about numbers when these are not considered it makes for very silly comparisons and incorrect conclusions

The dip has nothing to do with Covid.

you are looking at a scale issue here. when you look at a dip of 10K in one game that has 70K out there, then there is a noticeable difference, even when you look at the same 10K dip at 100K, it's so much less noticeable. also it looks like there was no dip but the line is some what wavy which means there is a loss there, but on the scale of 100K between the lines it's much less noticeable than when the scale is about 10-15K between the lines. I am sure if you drill into and make the scales there you will find similar dips as well.

now the next thing: there is even one of your game's with a scale of 500K per section! this is why you don't see things as bad. plus these games are much more popular and available around the world where as the majority of dbd players seems to be centered around the STATES with a fair bit around the world but not like these other games you list. AGAIN it is a scale issue that you are dealing with and not seeing the changes because where as in the us they might have lost say 10K people over time the rest of the world gained 12K, thus the line does seem to move up. steam does not provide more than over all numbers and not localization of numbers.

no i you clearly doesnt play survivor you reek of killer entitlement. it is really easy to spot killer entitlement in this forum.

just see your previous comments all discrediting survivor. you know what in this forum killer main tends to discrediting survivor.

    ex

"survivor shouldnt whine bla2 because of...."

    "survivor getting hit while bla2"

since when that auto aim is problem, this help killer much more than disabling auto aim at all.

this patch hitbox is sucked even devs already said they gonna fix it. accept it you're just biased killer main

on survivor's screen they are bs hits, on killer screens they are not. ALSO Killers missing so many hits they should have had but on survivor screens the hits weren't there. this is not a hitbox issue but a desync issue and it's showing how many people don't understand that is how it is happening. EITHER WAY IT NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH.
