  • They are not fixed I just had a game and was really needing to use pop had an injured person hit them and it would've been a down as Iv been downed with the same kind of hit. the survivour tebagged pointed and ran to the next pallet.

Not getting a down at the speed gens get done by a swf can cost you the match.

  • Even if the killer is camping me and my mate can usually get them of with big brain plays and little skill. But the majority of the time when Iv found them doing it the killer ain't been there

  • @AshInTheTallGrass said:

I always assumed that a survivor waving their arms on the hook meant, "Somebody come get me because no one is!"

Then I recently heard others say it meant, "The Killer is camping." And those people were usually the ones who had been playing DBD from the beginning.

So what do you think it means when you see it?

I always thot it was a sighn the killer had left and usually it is

  • @ill_Boston_lli said:

What joy does one get out of facecamping first hook? Do killers ACTUALLY get rewarded in rank for face camping? I am soo confused?

I'm a killer main and I don't do it as it not a viable strat and it does not help you in rank.

Il only do it if the survivour gets to cocky and starts teabagging like a moron. If they gonna be toxic so am I lol

  • Lol people complaining about killers blocking stairs what next. But it's OK for survivours to block hooks lol I find this amusing

  • @tippy2k2 said:

He's an awful killer who somehow has the weakness of multiple killers but none of their strengths. They took the worst part of range killers and the worst part of M1 killers and for funsy just some general awfulness and threw it together. The Trickster name was used because BHVR somehow tricked everyone into buying the worst killer in the game.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqaCEPwWGtc

^ Actual footage of The BHVR Team when creating Trickster

Like...I hate doing this because it's such a cliche but when it comes to Trickster, video or it didn't happen because I don't see how anyone could possibly do anything decent with him against even just competent survivors. I would love for you to prove me wrong but after multiple games of using him, I just don't see it...

Maybey you just need to get good. Bad workman blames his tool

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

your right he’s viable against Rank 20 to 16 try playing him against red ranks where all survivors split on gens and have dead hard and know every tile

Iv been against full red rank SWFs and destroyed them but then again I do main huntress lol.

So here's how to counter a nurse for the new people, when you see the fist run to the fist. After she misses her blink crouch in the environment behind something since she cannot see or blind her coming out of her fatigue. Its not hard she relies on tracking taking iron will also will help but any survivor over rank 15 knows to take that as a mainstay so you can lose killers if needed.

Think you read that rong we are not asking how to counter nurse we are discussing how buggy she is. Obviously you don't play her or you would understand.

This is kind of why the penalty exists, because people have proved time and time again before the penalty, that they'll DC for literally any reason, however, with the PTB the story is a little different. Not only are DC's completely unpunished in the PTB, but the players are also risking nothing: They don't lose items, points, or ranking, and they also don't earn any rewards for participating in what basically amounts to beta testing the new upcoming features, so if their match isn't chill, "fun", or even showcasing any new content they want to try out, they're completely free to drop out and queue up for another match. This wouldn't be so bad if it also weren't for the fact that the PTB has far fewer participants than the live version, which makes the queue times ridiculously long for both Survivor and Killer players.

This is also why the PTB is a bad testing ground, since it, in no way, represents peoples experiences with the new content on live servers. The best way the devs could fix this would be to incentivize players with either bonus Blood points or Auric cells given to their live account for participating (say 200k BP, or 50 auric cells per hour or 5 full matches spent testing), which would encourage more people to participate and work for their rewards, but unfortunately the devs can't do this because it would alienate the console crowd who can't participate even more than it already does, and it wouldn't change the players DC'ing or toxic behavior.

Once players have free reign to play how they want, no matter how exploitive or toxic, and with no consequences... they tend to reveal how little they give a damn about everyone else's fun, and even less how much they actually care about the development of this game.

    I agree.

It's just funny how even on the ptb where things are to be tested and really does not effect your live game at all that people still dc I was actually using the ptb to try out the huntress rework as I am a huntress main and Tbh I like what I see but really only got to try the flight speed add on and down one person before everyone dcd. Half an hour wait time for a game that lasts 20 secs. Game was over well before corrupt ran out.

All I want Is to test stuff which is what the ptb is for if people ain't happy because of map or killer just play it out as q times are hell for both sides but longer for killer for some reason.

People just need to be less selfish and consider others rather than themselves.

I think not cleansing is a bad strategy and that you should cleanse to force her power on a bad time.

Not cleansing works if you know how to loop.

I think what people want is the game to tell them all the possable counter plays so they don't have to figure it out for themselves with there massive 300 IQ and zero skill 😂

  • @spiritsLeftball said:

Can there please be a pre-match tip that tells players it’s in their benefit to avoid cleansing against the plague.

too many matches I see people flocking to cleanse just to then come and sit on a gen next to me suffering from sickness.

    like that is literal madness.

If they want to cleanse I have no problems when I'm playing plague but they soon learn after doing it a few times. Let people figure this crap out for themself

When I hit level 50 with someone I stop investing in them until they're pretty much dry and then prestige. I haven't gotten anyone to prestige 3 level 50 yet. This strategy saves me BP but I sometimes end up with limited perk pools especially on killers. What do you guys usually do?

Iv never prestiged a character yet I find its a waste of time and bp all for a crappy blood stain.

My mate perstiged his plaq and didnt get his currupt level 3 back till the last blood web before another prestige when on the first run he got it by r20. Seems like a waste of time to me

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

I'll start of by saying that there are killers that do the exact same thing that has led me to quit recently as I struggle to handle the toxicity. The toxicity comes from both sides and is frequent (alot of survivors tbagging, alot of killers slugging for 4 minutes and head shaking me).

You're either getting really good survivors or you're not up to your best, as unless they changed something since I quit two days ago, I could use meme builds as killer and win most of the time as long as they weren't stupidly weak.

You really don't need to run meta killers and meta perks to win. It makes it easier, but I play Clown, Demo, Twins, Wraith and even Trickster and I can win most of my games.

It really does not matter if I play survivour or killer I just get the same ######### every game.

Iv constantly ran the same build on my huntress for ages and usually 4k with it but recently been struggling to 1k because of all the second chance perks survivours have at there disposal and abuse the fact they have them and then rub it in your face.

When I play survivour I don't run all the meta perks as it's ain't fun I like to experiment but the games Iv been getting recently on both sides have been sweater than usual.

people just need to take a chill pill and pay less attention to rank and more to skill and relize its a ######### game

  • @syain said:

Well... I personally think it's pretty nice of the survivors. If you're offended by it then don't go to the gates if everyone's safe I guess.

I agree but if you don't go to exit gates most survivours vault a close by window to make noise until timer runs out or you go over there so they can do there little tbags and leaves at last second so if you don't go to the gate the game just lasts longer lol.

Wait -- people are playing Trickster? 🤔 Played nearly 7 hours of survivor play two nights ago, and I saw one the entire time.

I play trickster as I find him fun and want to get better with him. He is brilliant at throwing knifes threw small gaps on loops

  • I think they should up his movement speed to like 115 and tweak his recoil slightly so he has less and be able to cancel your power at any time like legion can with feral.

Iv been playing alot of trickster recently and have found if you are throwing knives the same way you use burst fire on a machine gun its way more acurate than holding the button down.

  • I slug as that strat works but very seldom proxy camp a hook as it ain't worth it.

I mean if you care about what rank you are and want to stay in red ranks you have to play like a absalute scumbag.

I dont care a bout rank after I got the acheivment for r1. I want to just play the game and have fun and improve my skills

  • @MadLordJack said:

Actually, that's the strongest way to play just about any killer thanks to general survivor mentality, but Trickster especially because he can only use his power when people are forced into the open.

I dont really find camping a valuable stratagey unless you in end game and securing that 1k and the trickster is good with his power anywhere when you learn and put the effort into it. My best map with trickster is midwich so I think theory of having to force players into the open is crap. I seem to do better on enclosed maps than wide open spaces

  • @tippy2k2 said:

There are plenty of killers who camp because all they want to do is get (at least) one kill and they either can't or won't get good enough to get said kill in any other way (though there are times when camping IS the correct play but I'm assuming you're not talking about EGC here).

It's just the nature of multiplayer games. Some people will use frowned upon tactics to try to win. Unless my hand is forced, I won't ever camp but I'm also more interested in an engaging game than I am with winning (I'd much rather get 0 kills and have a fun match than get 4 kills but I sat in a corner for 3/4 of it doing nothing).

I admit I'm not saying Iv never camped but usually only camp if all gens are done at end of game as you know dam fine both gates will be 99'd so securing my 1k.

Eery single time i play my teammate doesnt understand anything about anything. Know you might think that im a bad players blaming everything on my teammates no im not!!!. well anyways they dont know how the killers work im rank 4 right now...

Some stuff my teammates does most of the games: They suicide on hook, DC, hold shift when im picking them up, they dont take hits, they wont block, they refuse to 99 doors, they dont look for Devour or NOED, they arent trying to flashlight save, they are not keeping in mind which perks the killer has. Now the problem with all this is that i cant solo a match my teammates do gens yea but they make bad decisions they loop everything wrong they greed to much etc.

Now i know how to loop almost everything so most of the times i get away with bad teammates but it is so hard it feels like my teammates are waiting for me to get hooked so they can unhook me instead of doing gens... I would consider my self a good survivor i know how all killers abilites work i know most of the addons that i have to worry about i know all status effect, how to loop T and L, killershack and more so what is the secret? when im wathcing dbd on youtube everyone get so good queues good teammates running good perks. My teammates are running self care :P

Dont comment about spelling errors if there are any, idk and i wont read through everything just to fix a missing letter Thank you!

But we were all there at one point even you so he will pick it up

Playing a few games at red ranks has reminded me how overpowered killers can be. Doctor and overpowered Bubba with his 1-shot that lasts forever. Before I reached the third game, it was a slugging overpowered Huntress of course. You can’t play long without seeing Huntress because she is so overpowered with an unfair advantage. At one point, one was on the hook, another was slugged, I tried to make a save before they reached death stage and she played proxy camp and got me before I could make the save. 4 gens was still up and survivors are helpless.

Killers moan about that one loss, but there is no question 4K happens too much. A coordinated SWF is the only possible way to somewhat slowdown killrushers. But most SWF don’t win either. Killers have been buffed too much and survivors nerfed too much. Way too many tracking and gen perks making it too easy for killers.

A mid-chapter buffing survivors and survivor perks like they gave tinkerer would be a refreshing change. Where is the survivor’s NOED? It doesn’t exist. Constantly nerfing survivors and buffing killers is making the game unfun.

It needs to be looked into how much killers win.

Go against a full rank 1swf and then say that lol

  • Start of game hm he's gonna go for me as I'm a one hit but hey in the off chance he leaves me down il be good

  • Maybey a good idea would be for survuviurs to sacrafice there ds for a perk like small game

Ds,Unbreakable, Iron Will, soulgaurd, medal of man

I'm a killer main and get it all the time and also played survivour and gotten the same.

From a killer perspective if you don't play by the so called survivour rulebook they just get pissy.

Best advice just ignore it because all they are trying to do is tilt you

  • @Yords said:

The problem with the Spirit is that she gives no indication as to when she is phasing. This makes it very unfun to play against her.

In Otzdarva's community-made patch notes, he talks about the spirit and the ideas people came up with. The suggestion to rework her was to make her reveal herself to the survivors every second or so during her phasing. This way, it could open up for some actual mindgames and predictions while also allowing survivors to tell when she is phasing.

This would also make it really skillful to play the spirit because you have to rely on good reads and predictions when phasing for only a short time while survivors can see you.

It would also be really cool and fix the main problem people have with her. She could probably receive a buff or two in order to compensate for this nerf, but I think this is a great idea.

Then there are her addons which also need to be looked at and changed. For some reason, the duration addons also increase recovery speed as well.

I can't think of any other changes she would need to compensate for this rn (too lazy), but maybe if there are any flaws you guys can point them out.

Use your ears she makes a very distinctive noise when she phases Iv played her alot at red ranks and against incredibly good survivours and lost many of game. I think a rework would her harder to play and give survivours a way to easy gane. She ain't that hard to play against either if you know what your doing.

  • There is no skill in pressing E the only bit of skill needed is make sure your going the way you want as DH has cost me many times by sending me into walls or trees or other inanimate objects. that's why I never run it.

One of the best ways to become a better killer is to play survivor I think. Some killers have unique skills you have to practice, but the biggest factor for doing well is knowing the game and guessing what survivors will do.

I would say playing killer helped me alot to becoming a good survivour as I know how there powers work and what counter plays there are you get some people that have never played killer and dony understand and its usually them that judge

  • I still think people need to stop asuming as say a rank 1 killer plays a new killer there not necessarily going to he good with them there is no need to judge if they bad or good at end of game

That's why it's being nerfed next week to only work if you're actually being tunnelled.

TF for that because that was kinda annoying that a fully healed person and back on gens still had it.

Like I'm gonna ignore a survivour on a gen lol

  • @Kirkylad said:

The nerf is coming next week but you can't be surprised that if yourself and other killers are tunneling people off the hook most matches that a survivor isn't going to bring the perk to prevent them from having their match end quickly. That's like camping and then being mad at BT.

Was just in game on midwich hooked a meg then hooked a nea a gen was being worked on and the only person in the area was the meg fully healed and on that gen so I chased her of it and she went down I still got ds how is that even fair.

As far as I'm concerned and I don't tend to tunnel but if your fully healed and back on a gen then your free game

  • @MadLordJack said:

Who would have thought this would be Sluzzy!!!

Seriously, unfairly nerfed? Yep. Right. Because current DS just has loads of counterplay that isn't taken away by lockers or Unbreakable.

    Mmm-hmm.

    Totally.

    Yep.

    Nerf Huntress.

Unfairly nerfed I disagree had a game where someone got of hook fully healed and started fixing a gen so I downed them as

    A: couldent find anyone els

B: they were fully healed and back on a gen so clearly they are game to get taken out I still got d's which cost me the game.

And explain why huntress needs a nerf please

  • It also will show who actually has skill rather than boosting there egos because they got a less skilled player

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2039855#Comment_2039855

    Complete opposite scenario here.

Normally I play Spirit/Freddy/Hag, normally against red ranks, and it's a sweat fest if I care about kills, otherwise I'm just the attraction for other players to teabag and shine their flashlights at.

With SBM on, I faced players of equal skill rank with Spirit, matches were actually fun without being too easy, and when I tried a new killer I hadn't played before, I started with brown ranks, then yellow, and settled on green.

I agree normally when I play I have to sweat if I want a 4k but with sbm on i was getting the most fair games Iv ever played now I'm back to the sweaty games again.

  • @Yamaoka said:

I hope it's coming back ASAP.

Playing survivor made sense for once as I was able to actually escape after holding chases and doing gens outside a chase.

During the test I only got 2 bad teams whereas now I'm back to getting almost nothing but teammates that seriously boot up the game to be afk at the start of the game OR hide in a random corner a million times per match (yes, I can see you not moving when I'm already at 50% of my first gen or derping around doing nothing. I'm running Bond at all times).

As for playing killer I had to face tournament teams and 6000+ hour Object-teams on a fairly regular basis anyway so MMR makes absolutely no negative difference for me in this regard.

If let's say a working MMR made me lose every single game at least the devs would get a more accurate look at the game's state because let's be honest:

The stats give you a ridiculously wrong idea about what the game looks like when all 4 survivors are actually good at the game.

Therefore a working MMR system may change the game for the better in the long run even if it made killer gameplay disgusting for a while.

I also think it might reduce the salt levels a bit as people will no longer be judged by what rank they are.

The ammount of times I get abuse in end game coz I'm playing like a rank10 killer even tho i win

  • This games already dead

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

God I hope not. Some of us were not allowed to play our favorite killers because the MMR rating was too high.

I found my games more balanced with it on and it actually was better and the games were more fun.

Not you weren't allowed to play your favourite killer just clearly you have alot more to learn on that killer.

  • Camping is not an efficient way to win the battle I agree it does not take skill and I tend not to do it.

If survuviurs weren't so fast at trying to be alaristic and unhooking straight away and looping near the hook the camping would probably slow down.

I still don't see whaly killers camp because if all the survivours split up on gens then he losses the game with a 1k

  • @TragicSolitude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2036067#Comment_2036067

But if they're not working on the gen, then it won't grab the survivor even though I told it to freakin' lunge... I just wanna slap the survivor down and stop them from furthering the objective, I'm not trying to tunnel them out. If they get hit and go down on the ground because they weren't actually working on the gen, cool, I'm leavin' them and going for someone else.

Nothin' gets me to put the controller down and go afk during a match like the controls not doing what I tell them to do. Or frame drops, if I get massive frame drops more than a couple times, the hell with it, survivors can do the gens and leave.

As far as I'm concerned if a survivour is more than game to go straight back on a gen then that means they are ready to take a hit plus if ds was so bad why are so many people running it still. Love how people complain at perks

  • @Sluzzy said:

How many counters does a perk need? Since killers didn’t know how to play around the perk it will now have the most ways to disable itself than any other perk in the game.  Pretty much paralyzing the survivor to keep it. As difficult as it is for the survivor to complete objectives this is a huge set back. Most matches there is little hope. Killers have nothing to do but one objective while survivors have to do several and on top of that punished for doing anything where killer perks completely changes the game. Now survivor perks punish for playing the game.

A perk “Nothing to be afraid of” is really the opposite now. More afraid of losing it and needing it when a spirit phases all the way back and tunnel.  Was it forgotten that being a survivor you should try to heal yourself if you are injured? What benefit is it to have good med kits? It should be fair game to try to heal yourself and not worry with losing a perk. Not to mention trying to help your team. Now Bubba will be stronger in the basement because BT does nothing to him, DS you could maybe unhook someone and have a chance for only one to get out. An unnecessary buff where Bubba didn't need it because there is no counterplay to killers like Bubba.

It was nerfed way too much to benefit only killers and make their game easier than it already is with nothing added to it to help survivors. Like the least that could have been done was to stop the timer if someone is being chased or slugged on the ground. I thought 1-time use perks should be powerful, not very weak and catering to the other side so much. Undying was a busted perk and it won the killer the game, yet it still got huge counter buffs when it was nerfed. DS is only a 1-time use perk and it can really only be used by a facecamping killer now and that assumes that they don’t slug.  It is ridiculous decisive strike will be so situational and only useable if killer plays a specific way and can still prevent it from being used by slugging.  Lets be sure killers can abuse it. The decisive strike nerfs were rushed and for only to entertain killers.

Youl find if you play kiler you have more than one thing to watch as you have four people that can do gens at start of game and if they all split up on a map like ormond then most killers are pretty much #########.

I don't see any problem if I killer wants to apply pressure and that one of the ways to it.

Plus ds needed it because of gen rushing greddy survivours and don't even get me started on the perks survivours can run that are more annoying than a tunnel. Most killers tunnel to eat up the ds and get it out of way.

  • @landromat said:

Games are more balanced and challenging, and you never know if you can win or lose. If you 4k'd as killer a lot, your mmr is probably inflated right now. It will drop after you lose some games and they'll become more enjoyable. Im exited to see it live. Idk how it works with swf tho. It should use average swf mmr and boost it a liitle for matchmaker since voice comms are stronger than solos

Oh also rip streamers 50+ winstreaks, which should never be possible in first place

I think If they can get this mmr to work like what Iv experienced so far since they trial it.

My games seem more ballance and it might stop some of the negativity as people judge to fast based on rank rather than skill.

  • I'm not talking about farming either I'm talking about genuine struggles as its so evely matched

  • Those are the kind of games I'm talking about and that's a view from both sides they are just more fun when no one is sweating and it's pretty even on both sides all game

  • @RoachesDelight said:

Idk I play solo survivor and something just seems different lately. The gens are flying and getting done faster than ever (not saying anything has been changed) and even the hexes are getting found so fast which leaves the killer with little to no gen defense other than pushing survivors off a gen and even then you can only chase one person at a time and the others including myself will finish off the gen in your face. As annoying as it is I get why killers do it, it's because it works and it's effective. Face camping not really that's kind of pointless and stupid to me but tunneling yeah I get it.

I feel sorry for people who play killer in the current state of the game sometimes. Even when I play killer and focus on pressuring gens they still fly most of the time. I truly think if killers had more gen defense, for example if Ruin was buffed from a hex to a regular perk they probably wouldn't feel as much of a need to tunnel. As for the face camping people just do that to get on your nerves.

Not trying to be rude but you kinda need to just deal with it and get over it and learn to see the game from both sides perspective and try understand why killers or survivors do certain things that may be frowned upon.

I agree with you I play both sides but more killer than survivour but everytime I try to run ruin or a hex it spawns it in the most obvious of places.

I not trying to be rude either or start ww3 as we all know what like this game can be.

Iv started running coruppt instead of ruin as at least I'm guaranteed a certain time every game where I can get as much early pressure as I can.

A few weeks ago had a guy come in stream and said il neva get alot of veiwers with the way I play and a a carp red rank that needs to tunnel. He just kept bitching at me in stream.

What happend is I hooked someone and litrally turned my back and the guy was off I chased the healthy guy but accidently grabbed the injured guy as he vaulted a window got ds stun and after they all escaped they came in stream and called me out as a tunneler beacuase I got dc'd the guy that complained wasant evn the guy that apparently tunnelled.

Just thot I'd give an example from a killers perspective

  • I find alot of people d'c when they can't bully the killer or you get looped and teabagged then when you get a nice shot say with a hatchet the dc appears. People don't like hard games and when it ain't going there way they dc simple

  • @RoachesDelight said:

Usually when I level up a character I don't play them until I have all the perks I want unlocked at very rare quality.

I started leveling up Adam to unlock deliverance but I randomly decided to start playing with him instead. I'm currently running We'll make it, Deliverance, Dark Sense and Resilience all rare quality atm and I'm kinda shocked by the outcome.

I find myself playing better , smarter and more efficiently. Maybe it's luck or maybe while running meta perks I was playing sloppier because subconsciously I felt like I had a "crutch" to lean on if things got bad or maybe the change was just reinvigorating and lifted my spirits. All in all I'm having a lot more fun now and not taking things so seriously.

I'm not trying to start a war over what perks to use or not to use it's your game play how you want, but if you find yourself getting annoyed maybe change things up a little. Hopefully some people will have the same experience as me and find themselves having more fun.

I think if more survivours looked at it the same way as you the games would get better the reason certain killers are the way they are is because of boosted survuviurs relying on so called crutch perks.

4 games in a row today I have run into a hard tunneling or face camping killer. This is getting real old real fast and something needs to be done about it. I love how people are complaining about keys but this is the exact reason I use keys: it’s the best way to escape a hard tunneling or face camping killer. Keys should not be changed until these two things are felt with was well. It’s time the devs do something about this #########

How easy do you want the game to be. Holy crap Iv seen three gens popping before I get my ass over the other side of the map to stop it only way to stop that is run meta perks and it's boring as hell I don't want to have to run ruin undying every game.

And don't even get me started on the ammount of downs I should have had with the blood splatters and noise of a hit with a hatchet but oh they have DH so get away with it even tho it was a clear hit .

And the ammount of games I ran into today where it bodyblocking toxic twatts.

Plus I think the devs have bigger things to fix mate so just stop moaning and play if a killer truely is facecamping then it's a easy escape as the killer ain't patrolling gens. And he only gets one kill

If you think that you almost always get really strong coordinated SWFs, then you are either lying or really not good and thinking that you go against those strong coordinated SWFs, while you are just going against normal Survivors.

I'm a r1 killer and and I'm not and expert as no one is but the majority of my games is that's y I said almost every game
