Unfortunately there is no simple answer to this, if you split up queues, then wait time will be longer and probably unfair for SWF squads since most people tend to dodge them. It seems like we killer players are always gonna have to take the L on this.

You either play against potato killers constantly or are cheating because to loop every killer on a 5 gen chase all the time is ridiculous to expect of every player. That's pro level play and most people who play are average at looping or it's an anti loop killer(which is how it should be or killer would be pointless to play).
So again the counterplay is do gens. Some people will complain about gen times but really it's just them no putting any pressure because they are tunneling out 1 player.
No, I mean I never said every game I do a 5 gen chase, but most of the times on average if the killer is good I can do 3 gen chases, some times 5 gen chases. How do you explain that both survivor and killer players who have 10k hours and high mmr do it?theres lots of youtube videos demonstrating it, you think they also always go against potato killers every match too? Obviously not.
You can either try to be best everyday or cry about how everything is miserable to you and how impossible it is for you to reach your goals and give up from the start and never try it or you can literally just try to get better. It seems like the player mentality from this community tends to be ''i'm never gonna get better so I'm gonna cry about it on the forums''

Someone send bro a pubstomper Blight game immediately 💀
Funny because Im a blight main and I know him inside out, sure! him and nurse are the ones I struggle to go against if the killer player is good but not impossible to beat. Just get some experience...

No matter how good you are in front of Bloodlust 3 you still can't do anything
Get to a pallet, these days there are so many safe pallets you can drop, killer breaks it, bloodlust resets, the whole chase is reset. if the killer is bloodlusting you so bad that they need to get bloodlust 3 to get you then I wouldn't even conciser him/her a good killer and should probably not be a problem for the average survivor to loop him/her. As killer I rarely get to the point where I need bloodlust 3 to catch a survivor, and as survivor is easy to reset the bloodlust with a pallet, just learn to loop and learn how and when to migrate to a different area...
-
To be honest the counterplay for being tunneled is getting better at the game, get good at looping. I have gotten into 5 gen chases because the killer wants to tunnel me so hard that we end up winning with the killer getting nothing in the end. But it seems like ''get better at the game'' is an impossible task for some people especially for this community.
-
I would love to be able to chose killer/survivor rituals, sometimes I get a ritual like ''be chased by the killer' and I play mostly killer. Those rituals usually stay there until I can recycle them..
-
For me as a survivor the fun only starts when the killer tunnels me, It's the only fun this game offers in my opinion, I don't have fun just pressing M1 to repair a gen all game.

Disagree. Tunneling’s an issue; BHVR knows it’s an issue, and one they inevitably will address.
While Devs have maintained a “strat only” stance on Tunneling since DBD released, they’ve recently acknowledged the necessary times in-match to apply the technique. There are absolutely methods for disincentivizing the blatant abuse of inimically offensive Tunneling, and within the next 2 years we’ll see these tactics put into play, in-game, while still upholding the integrity of the timeliness of Tunneling. I’m excited and intrigued to see how they’ll do it!
''Disagree. Tunneling’s an issue; BHVR knows it’s an issue, and one they inevitably will addres''
No that's not how I said it, behaviour knows tunneling and cammping are pretty hated mechanics, but they have stated they don't see it as an issue because they see it as a strategy, different take.
''I’m excited and intrigued to see how they’ll do it!''
Are they gonna implement something? maybe..if enough people cry about it, is it gonna work? Well, how is the ''anti cammping mechanic going so far? there you got your answer.
-
My only problem with map offerings is when a really strong SWF squad uses it, I can stomp most of my matches in almost any map if playing against solo Q survivors.
-
Behaviour doesn't see tunneling as a problem, they see it as a strategy so ideas like this will probably never be implemented, no different than ''focusing'' in league of legends were during a team fight you usually ignore the tank and focus the dps.
-
It's the story of being a killer player, you want to play nice, you want to play diverse killers like pig, Hag. But then you get mocked by survivors if they win... You go back to always playing nurse/blight and then survivors complain when they get matched against only nurses and blights all the time.
-
No, she is not even that strong, most people have already adapted to her, you should too....
-
I can see UW getting chopped but STBFL will stay the same, there is no reason to nerf it, Only basic m1 killers use it and it's not even that good.
-
Yeah, that option was always bad, even without a BP event you can still get 100k in 2 or 3 matches (with the 100% bonus and maybe an offering) They would have to offer something like 1 million at least? and even then I'm sure some people won't take that offer.
There's a lot of improvements that could be done to the shop, I want them to have a shop for survivors and other for killers, basically to get more value out of it, sometimes you don't get any value because most perks are for survivor or vice versa and you basically end up waiting for weeks/months without buying anything.
-
I think the game's skill starts by being favorable for the killer, basically because baby survivors don't know what to do (where to run, how to transition to another loop, how to efficiently loop a structure) and most of the times all the killer needs to do is walk up to them and get a hit/down based solely on the fact that the killer walks faster. The skill rapidly goes in favor to the survivors once they start learning the basics of how to loop and how to avoid the killer's powers.
-
I mean just go to a random killer, perk webstie generator and go from there 😂
-
Scooby doo 😂 Velma and shaggy as survivors and luna clown from the first live action movie as the killer.
-
I played magic the gathering a long time ago and my favorite card was ink eyes servant of oni, had a deck just for her. It wasn't competitive or anything but I enjoyed playing it.
-
killer players had to deal with object of obsession reading the killers aura at all times something that was abused by SWF for years. Can we get the same treatment and have this perk nerfed only after like 2 years like object of obsession?

Don't act like those are my arguments lol I'm just pointing out your hypocrisy. You're the one complaining about survivors handpicking their opponent (for which they get a penalty) while saying killers should be able to do it for free.
Also do you know how silly that sound: "You are literally asking for a killer player to [...] go against a team of players who could potentially be way above his skill level and get penalized if he leaves" ?
Like: that's literally what survivors have to deal with everytime a killer lobby shops and they don't have a say in the matter.
Killers are the ones handpicking their lobbies to go against survivors under their skill level, messing up everyone's MMR and queue times, while survivors are the ones who have to deal with because their only option is DCing, which has a penalty.
And then you're saying survivors DCing isn't penalized enough but killers shouldn't be penalized if they leave ? How does that make any sense to you ?
Killers are the only ones who can lobby shop yet you're acting like they're victims of the mean survivors trying to bully them.
Also, people who lobby shop are the ones to blame for being matched against opponents stronger than them, they're inflating their SBMM ranking by choosing lobbies they can stomp (and who will get penalized if they leave) because their feelings get hurt when they don't get a 4K and everyone who beats them is "harassing" and "bullying" them.
Finally, I'm a killer main
just not a stupid one, if I didn't care I wouldn't be bothering with this discussion, there's more than enough killers playing and the "killers will all leave if you don't do what we want" card is getting old and ridiculous. Once the MFT nerf goes through killer will literally be in the easiest spot it's ever been and acting like "we're second class players and no one likes us and we never get anything" just make you sound like a crybaby who hasn't actually read any patch notes ever and probably blames all their skill issues on those awful survivors mains.''Don't act like those are my arguments''
That's literally what you wrote, I quoted you LOL.
''Once the MFT nerf goes through killer will literally be in the easiest spot it''
And there you go, the most brain dead entitled survivor arguing how playing killer is easy, when in reality you probably have never played killer to the point of getting bullied by a SWF p100 survivor squad.
''you sound like a crybaby who hasn't actually read any patch notes ever and probably blames all their skill issues on those awful survivors mains''
Lets flip this around, you sound like a crybaby survivor who hasn't an idea on how the killer role is so much more stressing than playing survivor, you probably blame all your skill issues on those ''killer mains''
And this comes form an ''ex- survivor main'' yeah I have played 10 times more survivor than killer, people who are blind to the fact that playing killer is miserable are extremely entitled people.

That's a very one sided perspective.
Haven't played soloq recently?
I have 800 hours as survivor and less than 100 as killer, I used to think survivors had it hard until I decided to start playing mostly killer. For a survivor main like me with 800 hours played as survivor and less than 100 hours as killer, I quickly felt how much worse playing killer is. And yes I played mostly solo, you could probably dig up my posts from years ago and find most of my posts were very survivor sided. There goes your ''one sided perspective'' argument down the drain, buddy!

That makes no sense.
it's almost like the survivor players want to make the killer player play the game even if they have to chain them to their pc but survivor players often disconnect a lot if they see a nurse/blight
You mean like killers lobby shop until they get a team they can stomp, knowing those survivors will be penalized if they leave ?
So basically survivors can still have an option to dodge/leave the match if they don't feel like playing against a good killer (because the DC penalty is basically a slap in the wrist)
Killers also have the option to DC, they just don't use it as much because they can avoid the penalty altogether by dodging lobbies for free.
they don't want the killer to leave the lobby if the killer player doesn't feel comfortable playing against a potentially really experienced survivor team
You're literally asking for survivors to get penalized further for not wanting to play against a potentially really experienced killer because you want to leave the lobby without penalty at all
''You mean like killers lobby shop until they get a team they can stomp, knowing those survivors will be penalized if they leave?''
Yes, no different from survivors who disconnect multiple times if they don't like the killer they are going against, They basically disconnect until they come across a killer they feel comfortable with, like Disconnecting every time they face a strong killer like blight/nurse and only playing when they know they got matched against a weak killer they can stomp like pig. No difference there, don't even try to defend the point.
''You're literally asking for survivor
sto get penalized further for not wanting to play against a potentially really experienced killer because you want to leave the lobby without penalty at all''I can also flip this around and say that you are literally asking for a killer player to get harassed and bullied during a match if they go against a team of players who could potentially be way above his skill level and get penalized if he leaves, same thing...you just have a double standard against killer players because you probably only play survivor and don't care. Killer players are already the minority, there will be even less people playing killer if the game/devs keeps treating them like second class players who get nothing but the short end off the stick all the time.
-
Life of a killer main is miserable, perks/killers get nerfed sometimes a few weeks after being released, playing against SWF is not fun, the meta is so inflexible that half the killer roster is almost unplayable, you have to resort to picking a strong killer like blight/nurse.
-
Ok but make the disconnect penalty harsher then? it's almost like the survivor players want to make the killer player play the game even if they have to chain them to their pc but survivor players often disconnect a lot if they see a nurse/blight. So basically survivors can still have an option to dodge/leave the match if they don't feel like playing against a good killer (because the DC penalty is basically a slap in the wrist, a 3 min ban. They can just use that time to go to the bathroom and come back to queue again) but they don't want the killer to leave the lobby if the killer player doesn't feel comfortable playing against a potentially really experienced survivor team.
-
I wish we could get a full refund on event items, useless stuff like the ''increase fog'' offerings, in fact they should probably remove them, they are just there to pollute the bloodweb because probably no one wants them...
-
It baffles me how a player can say that devs are ''killer sided'' most killers and their perks get nerfed in weeks after they are released if they show the slightest sign of being strong, on the other hand killer players had to deal with decisive strike for like 1 year before it was nerfed, dead hard was left untouched for 2-3 years before it was finally nerfed. But sure... ''killer sided devs''
-
2023 and some people still don't know what an upscaler is, LOL
-
For me the problem has been that super strong perks can be stacked by a really good SWF team, I remember facing a lot of 4 player lobbies all with dead hard, decisive strike. If they introduce ''roles'' as every player has to choose a role like ''healer'' ''Chaser'' and each role had a different set of perks without the possibility of choosing 4 survivors of the same role this wouldn't be an issue....
-
Probably will never happen, it will increase queue times a lot, you may say ''I don't care waiting a few more minutes'' but It's not like they are going to implement a whole new system just for a few people, majority of players will probably be against it as well...
-
I kinda feel the same way, I see 3x level 100 prestige survivors with flashlights in my lobby and I dodge, Having only somewhere 100 to 150 hours playing as a killer and seeing big numbers on the screen often scares me, I'm a casual player and the highest prestige I have is like 7... seeing a prestige 100 just makes me think how many hours of experience they are gonna have and I just dodge sometimes.
-
I can say that will never happen, one of the many problems we have with comms is that they can call your perks and add ons when you use them, like if a player sees I use spirit furry/enduring all of a sudden half of my perks become useless since they will start pre dropping pallets, same for add ons. I really wish we could have a way to balance this but I don't see how.

Exactly how did I twist your words? Your very first post in this thread was unsolicited advice-giving. You didn't ask why the OP has a problem with Blight or what specifically they were having trouble with or how often they escape against Blight or how good they are as a player. You immediately told them, and I quote, "Learn some skills and counterplay against him". Despite knowing next to nothing about the OP, you assumed it was a skill issue.
But fine, don't engage with people who call you out when you make a bad argument. I suppose you'll just have to continue to wonder why people don't listen to you.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3583393#Comment_3583393
And how exactly do you figure that being dishonest is going to help your case? Made for This is getting nerfed, Trickster is getting buffed, and Garden of Joy/Mother's Dwelling/Temple of Purgation are all getting changed in the next patch to make them more Killer-friendly; acting like the devs are playing favorites with survivors is just an insult to people's intelligence.
How exactly is saying that a game needs to be balanced is dishonest, you are literally strawmaning this by making stuff I didnt say because you don't have the mental capacity to even put an argument.

Oh goody, "Us vs. Them". Yeah, that's constructive.
It's literally a pvp game, it will always be us vs them when it comes to balancing the game, every side wants strong perks without getting nerfed and the other side wants the same, that's why we have discussion boards like this.
-
@HugTechLover said:
Instead of just giving up, how about trying to learn something from your matches against blight?
Learn some skills and counterplay against him.
Amazing how some survivor players can't deal with a perk or add on that makes the killer somewhat good, they just want it instantly nerfed, but killer mains had to deal with dead hard and other perks for years without a nerf...
-
I have always thought that devs should make use of ''token perks'' more often, buckle up should have something like 2 tokens, you use it once you lose a token, you use it twice and its gonne for the rest of the match..
-
None of that is toxic, some perk builds can be annoying but they are just a play style, same for tunneling and camping. That's like playing apex legends and saying that killing other players who didn't get to a weapon before you is toxic because they were not prepared for you coming at them fully equipped, being caught off guard is part of the game.
-
Only killers I truly fear are nurse, blight, wesker, spirit. That doesn't mean I automatically disconnect when I get matched against them but I do immediately think that if they are somewhat good at the game it will probably end up with 3/4 kills at the end of the match..
-
I agree but at the same time I havent heard a single suggestion as to how this could be implemented without players dodging too much...
-
well... people want gens not to be far apart because it makes it hard for the killer to patrol, but at the same time want smaller maps because big maps are also hard to patrol so it's hard to please both sides...
-
I dont think that is their mindset, I think they are trying to avoid a ''oops! we made a super strong killer'' type of scenario because it becomes a lose-lose scenario for them, if the killer is released super strong survivors will probably complain, the only option at that point would be to nerf the character which will make the other half of the population (killer mains) angry as well so...
-
@ImNotBobDylan said:
OP can you record yourself playing and getting, idk, a 5 win streak? I'm curious to see your gameplay.
I did a 36 win streak my first time playing Nurse, since survivor is so easy and Nurse so bad, you shouldn't have trouble achieving 1/6th of that, right?
He probably thinks that a solo escape is a ''Win'' even when his team of survivors probably got smoked, escape rate not the same as ''win rate'' in my opinion, I can say I escape a lot sure but most of those escapes are either solo escapes or maybe a 2 man escape, but by ''community standards'' a win is only achieved with at least 3 survivors escaping, every other scenario is a loss for the survivor team.
-
This game matchmaking basically doesnt exist, the game failed me at both survivor and killer, when I was new the game sometimes would match me as survivor (I had about 200 hours) againsty 3k, and even 1 time it put me against a 5k hour experienced killer. I play 99% of my games as survivor and the very few times I played killer it matched me against 4k survivors (with me still havinmg very little experience, maybe I have played killer like a total of 20 hours at most)
-
I do chill and avoid gens for a while if I see 3 gens pop and the killer has no hooks while playing solo, but it can go very wrong sometimes, one game I decided to play with my friends, we had 3 gens and the killer had no hooks, we decided to chill and I guess he activated his ''tryhard mode'' or maybe he gave the controller to his older brother, but within 2 minutes we were all slugged and basically lost the match.
You can chill as a killer when you are sure you have the match under control, letys say you are still at 4 gens, you already killed 1 survivor and 2 other survivors are on dead hook...you can chill because you know the game has already slowed down with 1 survivor dead and you can even slow it down further by maybe taking down another survivor but by playing survivor you never realy know if the game is gonna go south extremely fast or not.
-
I want rachel foley as a character or skin, same for ashley graham and bela dimitrescu as killer
-
If I notice someone may be getting tunneled and they are on their second hook then I try to take hits for the other survivor, and try to draw aggro as much as possible,I run reassurance to give other survivors additional time to do gens while the teammate is hooked.
-
A player having an ''additional'' health state will never be bad even if the condition to use the perk is hard to trigger and it will always be worth the effort (The value you get from this perk is insanely high, basically if you manage to use it 3 times during a match that's 3 free health states that you got from a single perk) At this point the only nerf I can think of that can probably kill the perk is to allow players to use it only once per match like DS.
-
The ''creepy'' atmosphere it had, maps were darker and used to be massively populated by trees and rocks...
-
it depends on the stage of the game for me, if Im about to pop a gen and the other survivor is at the other side of the map (I usually trust that another survivor who is closer will unhook) problem is that most of the times no one knows who is the closest survivor LOL kindred basekit maybe?
-
killer and survivor queues have never been longer, especially killer queues, never in my life have I seen 8 minute killer queues, they used to be instant! that pretty much tells us a lot of people are not playing for a reason, pretty sure you also deny climate change LOL
-
The fact you can do all those gens means other survivors are buying you time, if they don't do gens is probably because they are running the killer for you, I remember I ran a killer before the patch for 4 gens and one dude came to flame at end game chat because he didn't see me complete a gen.... you are getting free gens because other players allow you too, only problem I have is with people going AFK or rage quitting on first hook...
