Ok... it’s activation requirement is sprinting while not exhausted! Better?
That’s the risk of Sprint Burst: not having it readily available at all times. Anyone who walks around with Sprint Burst is a clown survivor and detriment to their team.
thats why you 99% it duh!

It does have an activation requirement though: not being exhausted. It's one of the most risky yet rewarding perks in the game. Any killer worth their salt will only be fooled by it once in a trial - if at all.
Being exhausted is every exhaustion's perk cooldown not it's activation requirement #########

Maybe if your a vetran to soem degree or even experianced but for a new player whos grasping the basic I like many others would suggest holding off on new players playing/purchasing this game. Its new players experiance is abyssmal and it shows in its god awful matchmaking.
I would pripritise the matchmaking first nad if red rank players like myself have to wait longer thats fine. I want to see dbd continue to grow and not shrink.
Yeah, but again there's nothing we can do about it, just wait for the devs to fix it.

Eh it's balanced imo
At the start of the match, you have Sprint burst ready so you have 2 options
1) run to gen and have a 40-second cooldown risking getting found by the killer in the early game and now you have no exhaust unless you manage to walk a lot mid chase. Or walk and save sprint burst which can waste a lot of time.
Most of the times you spawn right next to a gen anyways...
-
I also have this problem, I get the feeling a lot of console players are just inexperienced kids who don't know what they are doing and die on hook because they didn't even know they had to struggle while hooked.

If it dosent wear out the killer player and they decide this isnt worth it and goes "I'm out" this role sucks. Rank might not mean a lot high up but low down its important for gradually teaching killers. Were it not for the slightly more balanced matchmaking of old I'm not sure i would have stuck with the role.
You can't just throw new killers into the deep end. This applies for survivor as well. This kinda stuff is a massive detterent and hurts the new player experiance. Im getting 3 green one purple at rank 1 and suprise suprise "rank dosent matter" was massivley dissproven by them all getting slaughtered in the first 3 mins.
Matchmaking needs to be revised and queue times need to better respect rank difference of at least 5-8 ranks with some short term killer incentives needed to be put in place to secure the new player base they gained and encourage survivors to play killer.
I'm not saying match making shouldnt be fixed, All I'm saying is that there is nothing we can do until they fix it so in the mean time you may as well use that time as a learning experience.
-
People always say dead hard is a good exhaust perk but I don't really like it, It's situational (for me at least) it's only really worth using to close a small gap between you and a pallet/loop, if you use it for distance you are gonna go down anyways.
-
I'd say its unfair for red rank survivors who are paired with low ranks and have to babysit them the whole game, I had this match and I don't know what a rank 16 was doing in that game, but at the same time why am I being matched against red ranks? my advise is to take it as it is, going against tougher opponents will make you a better player faster than going against people who don't know what they are doing.
-
With friends, it's the only way to have fun, if you came to play solo queue as survivor and have fun you came to the wrong game....
-
Increase hook time by 10 seconds or maybe to make hook time a little bit more interesting they could implement hook skill checks that will reward you with a little bit more time if done properly?
-
I have always said it, we should have identity V standards for winning and losing that way only really good players can rank up, with the current system anyone can get to red ranks only by just playing a lot but not actually because they are helpful or have skill.
I had a red rank survivor accusing me of hacking because he was hidden and I got right on him, I had to explain to him that I could hear him, the fact that you have to explain that to a red rank is ridiculous, most players get to high ranks without knowing the basics of the game just because they play a lot not because they have skill or are actually good at the game.

There’s no in game microphone. Pretty much says it all. The only reason they allow it is because they can’t do a thing about it.
I just read the rules and says communications are not bannable and in game reports will not be taken into consideration for that.

As I said, I’m talking about the use of mics. The standard way people use swf is definitely cheating.
Is there a rule here somewhere that say it is? devs pretty much get to decide what cheating is...if they say so then so be it but until then it's not...

Yeah, I imagine that games always feel smoother when you cheat. And yes, I consider SWF cheating. If you absolutely have to, SWF without mics, but nobody ever does that.
The game is designed around the idea of random strangers getting thrown together and forced to work together despite personality differences. Some will work together, others won’t, just like in the movies. In Night of the Living Dead for example, Romero could have had everybody work together and not included the character of Mr. Cooper. But the film would have been a lot less interesting.
Playing swf isn't cheating, if it was...adding players to your friend list to play with them would be removed and random queues would be the norm obviously devs don't agree with you on what is cheating or not.

I mean, most killers that are decent had to come to grips with hard losses to get good, so for the most part they don't mind losing.
What happens though is they play lower tier killers and don't just lose they get bullied so they stop playing them and go back to their spirits and their freddy's and such.
When I say bullied I mean they get teabagged, pointed at and toyed with, chain stunned and so on, survivors diddle around end game because they know they can and do stuff and don't leave till the last very second even when they are doing nothing but running circles in the exit gate, they get told how much they suck in the post game chat or worse condescended on and such.....
All of that happens; and they are like "well that doesn't happen when I play ____ killer" and so they go back to that killer.
People don't actually want to play against those killers for fun or variety, they want to play against them to win or to bully them, at least a lot do; enough that it incentivizes this problem.
tldr; if you want to see more of those other killers, be nice to them post game chat, encourage them, and don't go out of your way trying to tilt them and mocking them. If it's clear they are struggling you don't have to by any means throw the match, but not swarming them and chain blinding them because you know they don't know how to deal with that, and trying to farm them for points- is going to help prevent discouraging them from that killer or even the whole role; because all you get out of it is longer survivor queue times and more Freddy's and Spirits from people who are now graded and don't care about what you think at all.
They already have this (somewhat) implemented with daily rituals and tomes (I got destroyed with hillbilly but at least got the quests and helped me get some blood points) also when they try to incentivize you to play huntress or wraith with a daily ritual.
Personally I've seen people who don't mind doing them just for the blood points, but we talking low ranks of course since red ranks don't really care that much about blood points so it would be an option for new players who want to get blood points (I do rituals for blood point since I'm kinda new myself) but of course it wouldn't be forced, the option would be there if people want to take it.

Five minute matches is probably bad mechanics and poor decisions.
Pretty much agree with that, If people feel like survivors are ''gen rushing'' is probably because the killer failed to pressure them, the lenght of the game depends on both sides survivors and killers but a skilled killer can change the game flow as he wishes if they pressure enough...

Sweat squads would have a field day with this
If you feel you can't do it then don't do it, the option would be there for those bold enough to take the challenge if they want to get some additional blood points, it's not like it's gonna be a forced thing, you can keep spamming your strong killers if you feel like you can't do it and other people can try it if they want...

@Kind_Lemon said:
...or incentivize them by making the killers more fulfilling to play?
cough revisit the Nurse fun-nerf (which was worthless for reducing oppressiveness) cough
That would be the ideal scenario but it's only wishful thinking, waiting for the devs to balance every single character to make them all fullfiling to play will take years, this is basically like blood lust, a band aid solution while the long term solution can arrive but can help even a little bit in the mean time.

@MeatBycicle said:
Blood points doesnt matter when you still get so little because in red ranks games are done in 5 minutes. Those weaker killers aren't played as much because with killers already at a disadvantage you are shooting yourself in the foot even more.
Dind't really intend for this to be for red ranks that much, those guys try to protect their rank more than they are willing to have fun with the game which purpose is to have fun for some reason but still will help a little at least with lower ranks who seem to be the problem with low ranked killers population being really low already...

Solo queue is the only way that I’ve ever played. If I thought it was a nightmare I would never have gotten into this game.
Solo queue survivor pushed me to never want to play as solo queue survivor and started playing killer more to be honest, at least I play without having to worry about losing a match because I keep getting trolls/AFK/Disconnects/Rage quitters and bad teammates to ruin 7 out of 10 matches but maybe you can count it as a good thing I guess since the killer population seems to be extremely low...
Also if you have never played SWF you don't know how smooth the game feels when you get to play with friends who will never troll or disconnect compared to solo queue where that's really common, once you play most of your matches with people who actually play the game the feeling solo queue gives you of people constatly disconnecting is pretty bad and frustrating...
-
It's a team game that survivors can only win by working together and you want a mechanic to sabotage your own teammates. you are only gonna make the guy you tripped disconnect and make it worse for the team by being 1 survivor down (the one who disconnects) and another one (you) being close to death since you only have 1 more hook before dying. *facepalm...
-
There's 3 gen situations already that slow down the game a lot, and sometimes makes it's almost impossible for survivors to win if they are down 1-2 team mates, if you had to repair all generators it would be impossible for any group of survivors to win, even the most veteran ones would not stand a chance since all you would have to do is camp the last generator, In fact the game would be extremely boring since the killer can just choose any generator from the start and camp it without even patrolling other generators, survivors could repair all the other ones and the killer can simply win or stall the game indefinitely by just holding on to one generator.
And survivors aren't really ''proving their point'' when they do gens, the time it takes survivors to do a gen and the length of the game is mostly dependent on the killer's skills, survivors are just doing their objective and if they are ''gen rushing you'' its because you failed your objective as a killer by not applying pressure to them.

Have to disagree solo survivor is probably the best way to enjoy the game apart from a properly matched killer.
Agree to diagree on that one, last 2 matches 2 people rage quit when they went down the first time and left 2 of us with 5 gens, one of the killers even allowed us to escape because he felt bad for us, I feel so much better playing killer knowing that I don't rely on someone else to win and diconnects/rage quitters/trolls/bad teammates work in my favor and not against me... not only that but BP grinding takes longer and queue times are way longer than killer queue times, nothing like waiting in the lobby for 5 minutes to load into a game with a guy who went AFK, the other one killed himself on the first hook and not even 3 minutes into the game the match has already lost it's purpose because you know the match is already over, just for you to repeat the same process next match, IDK how is that enjoyable?

Maybe at rank 20 as a rank 20 survivor, not when you're red ranks and keep getting rank 10+ as team mates who go down in 2 seconds and then dc
To be fair I have had red ranks diconnect on their first down too...
-
Landing hatchets with a controller, that's why I usually avoid playing with the huntress...
-
Just for fun? I remember when I first started playing I got chased by a bunny legion and made me laugh watching a giant bunny chasing me, They should have more skins like bunny legion XD
-
That's why solo queue is a nightmare, you get randoms with no common sense.
-
As if a written death threats wasn't enough, Nope...and end game chat should be removed too, there is no reason to even have it as it is only a way for someone to flame you. Use discord with your friends...

Ok I don’t know what games you’re playing but they obviously have terrible monetization systems and need to go as well and shouldn’t be used as example to say that DBD’s is fine.
I guess it depends on where you live but even when not comparing to other games $5 to $10 bucks is kinda cheap, that's like the pocket change I spend on my daily morning coffee and a donut.
-
Going for the nuts is a legitimate strategy....
-
Matchmaking is bad but I think the problem is due to the average survivor/killer population, low killer population means I'm gonna get matched with almost any team of survivors at random regardless of rank.
-
Meg (Sprint burst and adrenaline)
Bill (Borrowed time and Unbreakable)
-
Move to the center of the map and start doing a gen if I spot one, it usually prevents the team from getting 3 gen'd.
-
somewhere between 2.5 and 3 seconds....
-
4k and 3k is a win, 2k is a draw.
-
I never try to unhook myself unless doors are open and no one is coming to save me as a last ditch effort to try to get out...
-
I'm surprised that some people complain about this, $5 to $10 bucks is really cheap, there's mobile games who try to sell you a skin for $40 - $60 bucks, and some other more popular games charge you from $80 to $120 bucks for a skin package...
-
Newer players sometimes don't know how to loop and their only way to survive is by hiding, just let them have it...
-
You don't want it...trust me! most of the times people use it to flame you after the game, I play on pc and wish there was a way to remove it to avoid harassment.
-
Yes, let us choose if we want killer or survivor rituals, I hate when I get a survivor ritual, also 3 daily rituals per day, 1 is not enough....
-
I dodge matches if i see all players loading at once and also all of them being from the same platform (I assume they are SWF) and only accept matches if I see that at least 2 survivors are from a different platform...
-
I do the same, I usually dodge matches if I see all 4 players are from my platform (I assume they are SWF) and accept matches if there's 2 players from a different platform. Sometimes I play regardless if i have already dodged lots of times...
-
I don't even know why they have an end game chat, most people only use it to flame after the match and it's rarely used to give props to other players.
-
I'm not saying SWF is balanced or fun for the killer but I get the feeling that if SWF wasn't a thing the survivor population would considerably go down. I myself don't wanna play with randoms, I would have never started playing the game if it wasn't because I can have fun with my friends...
-
And make queue times longer? no...
-
If played optimally (from the survivors perspective) face camping is a bad strategy since the other survivors can all work on gens and end up doing a 1 for 1 unhook before the timer for the hooked survivor ends. The problem here is solo queue...with no communication it's hard to know if the killer is camping or not if you don't have the correct perks for that, sometimes that leads to all 3 survivors wanting to go unhook and nothing gets done, it gets worse if you don't have borrowed time and your teammate just shows up to farm you.
I Know the game is supposed to be played with no communication but identity V has premade messages you can use to let the other survivors know what's happening, something like ''the killer is nearby'' to let the others know that the survivor that is hooked is being camped...
