I’ve had trolling survivors dc on me because of lightborn foiling their plans. I love it when that happens.
-
Whatever.
-
Definitely a bug. The only item that will be or should be taken from you is a red key and that is only if you use it on the hatch. And you also won’t get credit towards the challenge that way either.

Okay, sorry that last killer didn't give you hatch buddy lol. But after 5 hours of continuous killer gameplay tonight I just thought it was odd how the only survivors who were quitting mid-game via open-space tea bagging or disconnecting after their down were console players. Was thinking maybe I missed something in gameplay or whatever, I even thought maybe I was being too harsh as a killer--but oyu wanna take this as a big personall afront to ALL survivors somehow lol.
Lol. You think him not giving me the hatch made me mad. I don’t even care about that. Not giving me the hatch isn’t what made the killer the jerk, it’s that he waited the entire length of the EGC to hook me when we both could have just moved on. And even that didn’t make me mad, it just confused me while I got up and got a drink.

I think you're looking too deep man lol I'm just farming BP on Legion and noticed console players just do not want hatch given to them so I thought maybe theres some PC-to-Console communication I'm missing here. Yooure projecting a lot
You’re reading an awful lot into how players are playing against you, but I’m the one projecting here. Got it. Whatever. You can’t stereotype console and PC players like that. There are tons of players that frown upon farming. Not everybody likes to be given the hatch. It isn’t a PC/console thing. Some peole just want to do things for themselves.

Wow, you sound a TEENY bit mad lol. I wasn't even blaming survivors. I said console players. Whether they're on my team, or I'm playing against them--they got a bit of a different vibe to them thats not as playful as PC players. You still seem REALLY mad about your loss.
I’m not mad. But you seem a little over sensitive to how others behave towards you. You’re upset with survivors struggling. They get more bloodpoints if they struggle even if you’re leading them to the hatch. Ask yourself: why are you getting offended over that? Why do you think that I sound mad? Maybe it isn’t us here. Just saying.
-
Well, I just got out of a match against a killer that downed me at the hatch, and even though I was the last person, had an anniversary med pack therefore no key, and had crows circling me so obviously no DS, he still decided to let me bleed out until there was literally less than 10 seconds left of the DGC. So enough with the complaints about survivors. They are NOT the only ones being pointlessly mean.

Me: gets Coldwind farms 5 times in a row
My theory is that Survivor sided maps have over 70% chance and killer sided maps have a 30% chance, unless you bring a map offering to increase the odds.
Coldwind Farms is a category that contains 5 distinct maps. It appears 9 out of 50 games on my list. Not quite 20% of the time.

I had a match not too long ago where I cleared all 5 totems, did 3 gens all by myself and helped with a 4th. Yeah, they helped by distracting the killer, but on the other side nobody would have lived if I didn’t do what I did. The bp should have been similar. It definitely wasn’t.

Respectfully, I've never understood the mentality that survivors can dictate what a killers objective should be. Not everyone cares about 30k bloodpoints every game. It's a game about killers hunting survivors, with the aim of sacrificing them. Some people want kills as their primary goal. It's their game and their choice.
I’m really not dictating anything other than what the setup for the game actually is. If you 4K with Bubba everybody within 30 seconds of match start you are likely to get an “Entity Displeased” result. So obviously just “killing” everybody isn’t supposed to be the primary objective. The objective is to entertain the entity, and that just plain doesn’t entirely rest upon killing everybody, despite the person playing the killer playing just for that.

The killer has one objective, to kill. People still complain if they are being tunnelled. Why? This is just the killer doing their one objective.
Does this mean tunnelling doesn't exist according to your logic?
Technically a killer’s chief objective isn’t to kill, it’s to extend the survivor’s suffering. There’s a reason why it is possible to get a worse score with a 4K than it is to have with 4 escapes after 2 hooks each.
-
I played it today for the first time in weeks (only played it once the first day) and it was against a rank 1 nurse using all ears bbq and nurses calling. Not a fun round. The map I’m sure would be fun to verse a lot of killers on, but not somebody like that, and definitely not before I know the map enough to find generators.

That sounds like the normal PC day lol.
Sorry to hear you get those kind of teammates, this is why people use SWF and stuff, to not have to deal with players that don't do anything.
I’m more against the trolls than the incompetent players. But it just seems like the people that choose crossplay have more interest in playing the game. Not all of them, mind you, just a higher ratio.
-
Every time I disable crossplay I either get stuck with people that don’t do anything or get messaged by trolls. Between glitches and putting up with that, I choose the glitches.

I definitely wouldn’t say that either. I’ve died plenty on those maps, too.

@mad_hatter said:
Why not? Do you have a better suggestion?
Maybe a variety of potential objects to stun the killer? The thing that is ridiculous about pallets is that it’s literally the only physical object available to stun him with. Not only that but there are so many of them and I don’t even think one pallet could stun anybody let alone a supernatural killer.
-
It would have to take place on a much larger map in order for it to be feasible. It doesn’t matter how many survivors there are, 2 killers would be able to split up the map with ease, but too many survivors and it would just devolve into a lot of slugging. And you can’t loop killers if they’re coming at you from both directions. I just can’t conceive of it ever working.
-
Most Trappers I come against get at least 3K. I think he’s pretty balanced. Good trappers know that they don’t need to traverse the entire map when all they need to do is lock down part of it.

Yes! That's exactly what I mean! lol
That's the life of a solo queue survivor though!
And now I just had a little bastard refuse to let me heal them after saving them from the basement. Rather she chose to run to the aid of another person on a hook that was already being hooked and pretty much throwing the entire match by having us all in one location at the same time. Its very frustrating. They even got together to heal so there wasn’t any room for me! Incredible!
-
@StardustSpeedway said:
Oddly enough I didn't struggle with this one. I always seem to struggle on the easier challenges. For example, the one where you had to heal survivors took me way longer than I needed it to take. Either survivors refused to get healed or would rather self care instead of letting me heal them!
I see what you mean now that I’m onto that challenge. Every one of the matches since I started it has had killers proxy camping hooks and then tunneling me mercilessly so I can’t heal anyone. Even when I escape him the person I have saved has already been healed by somebody else. Four rounds now and I only have 2 out of 12 done.
-
I just got it with by escaping through the hatch because I got paired with a bunch of lemmings that still don’t know how to combat BBQ. Didn’t get down and got a remarkably high score of 26,000 which I can’t account for other than maybe the amount of hook saves I did. Got a few totems and repaired one full gen but that’s about it. Only earned a bronze for being chased. Brought a rainbow map in and carried it out.
-
Now im just carrying in maps and hoping for the best.

Even with those it’s a chore. Ace in the hole only gives you better add ons, nothing to do with the items themselves. Using appraisal I managed to find a rainbow map in the basement after the gates were open but it was a long time to get the stars to align. Now i just have to do it once more.

Old enough to run for President!
-
I feel you. By gamer standards I am definitely older at 47. I used to be of the the opinion in online gaming that age doesn’t matter and I’ll play with anybody because it isn’t like I’m planning upon meeting anybody in real life or hooking up. To an extent that is still true, but I’ve basically stopped adding friends or playing on mics because I’ve come across some weirdly clingy individuals. Generally I will avoid talking about how old I am because I’m afraid my geriatric age will scare people off. Now I just stick to playing solo and am actually much happier not having to deal with soap operas. What can I say? I remember the days when I used to spend all weekend playing Pitfall on my Atari 2600 all by myself, lol!

Difference is they are all horrible one sided maps.
Well, that’s always debatable. It feels like I survive a lot more often on Fractured and Rotten than I ever do at Shelter. I think I can still count on one hand the number of times I’ve survived Shelter. Definitely not more than 10.

That would only be fair if BBQ had 3 tokens.
It doesn’t matter. If you’re at a gen while somebody gets hooked and lose a token, congratulations! You now know for certain that the killer is running BBQ. You now have the option to use up your remaining charges every time someone gets hooked or run to the nearest locker/get near enough to the killer. I honestly don’t what you expect, but one perk should never be able to totally negate the effects of another.
-
Survivors have perk and add ons to speed up gen repair and killers have plenty of perks and add ons to slow them down. Gen rushing isn’t the problem its coms that are the problem. There is no adequate counter for swf teams.

Having to run across the map four times to do nothing but cleanse totems = not needing NOED.
That isn’t all you do. Counterforce/small game is now my go-to build on one of my characters and it is most definitely NOT the only thing I do. You use small game to locate your first totem, cleanse it, and get an idea of where the next one is and eventually work your way over to it, but also do gens too. During the course of a game you have more than enough opportunity to cleanse them all in the normal course of events unless your teammates are duds and keep getting downed too quickly to do anything. The combo is really handy to have when there is only one or two gens left when it becomes really important to knock those things out. Doubly important when Devour Hope kicks in.
-
Keys should be able to knock down boarded up doors.
-
Too many people throw around phrases like “X ruins the game” or “the game is completely unplayable now”. To paraphrase a line from the Princess Bride: “I don’t think ruin and unplayable mean what you think they mean.”
-
Why would indoor maps be bad? There are a ton of things to bounce off of an narrow passageways that make it impossible to avoid getting hit.

I get those too, but at least there are things do and places to hide other than behind rocks when the killer is near. Is it too much to ask to at minimum add more brush?

Are they trying to be ironic with the name? There IS no shelter in Shelter Woods.

As a solo player I often don’t know if the people I’m playing with are a swf group or not, but it’s amazing how often I’ll be by myself working on something and two or three others will be downed like dominoes. At which point it will be up to me to pick up their sorry asses or feel their wrath in end game chat. And even if I do help out I might get called worthless as I did recently even though I was literally the only reason anybody lived as long as they did because none of them had sense enough to work separately or not immediately rush to the aid of a downed player. Solo players can be bad, but some swf groups are just suicidal in the way they will kamikaze the killer.

It definitely does, but I think solo queue suffers from a skill problem at times.
Players who are looking to optimize will likely become frustrated with teammates who are, for lack of a better word, bad. In response, they SWF with like-minded players.
I don't think solo players are usually bad *because* they're in solo queue. It's that really good players are unlikely to solo queue in the first place. I get accused of being in a SWF a few times each week despite being solo on PC crossplay off. Solos are definitely able to compete. It's just highly unlikely to get 3 good teammates who make good decisions.
It may be an unpopular opinion but I don’t think that most swf players are as good as they think they are. It’s an illusion brought on by always having backup. There’s probably no real difference between swf and solo, it’s experience that counts.

So many games today people will not even attempt to go for hooks or rescues.
if you see someone slugged whilst someones being carried to a hook why aren’t you going to rescue one of them? especially if you haven’t been hooked or even injured the entire game because you’ve been hiding in a bush!
literally don’t understand people’s thought process (or lack thereof).
if you want to be selfish, why not just go play killer & stop ruining other people’s games.
It exists, you just need to realize that your needs aren’t going to be the highest priority. If I’m more than halfway done with a gen and your downed but not in the near proximity and another person is being chased, do I stop what I’m doing or hope that the fourth person is already en route to you? It’s a judgement call that can be hard to make. There is no real communication in solo queue unless you’re using something like bond. I can’t tell you how much time is wasted running to somebody’s aid only to have another player get there first. In the meantime that is one less gen that is repaired.
But generally speaking in the situation you describe I wouldn’t go for the downed person, I’d go for the hook save. If I see the person being carried to the hook I figure I won’t be able to get the downed person up in time before the killer returns and all that will do is put the killer on my radar and then we have potentially one on hook and two downed. It’s a domino of saves with zero gens getting repaired. It’s better imo to let the second person get hooked and unhook and escape and heal the first person.
-
All it says to me is to catch a survivor in a trap, presumably hook them (although that’s a grey area, wording may allow for them to escape but then that’s not really getting “caught”), and then you reset the trap. And then maybe catch another one again? If that isn’t working then maybe the challenge is bugged like the basement hook one was.
-
I only really camp a hook now if the person was running Object of Obsession. I’ll intentionally throw the match just for fun, and if they message me about it afterwards I just say “BUT I THOUGHT YOU LIKED MEEEEE!!!” I don’t know why but it amuses me.
-
Only for hacking as far as i know.

I had 3 gens in one area, so that was imposible for survivors win. I was defending them well. So no, i lost unfairly.
Or maybe that was intended. If they found a key earlier in the match then they wouldn’t care. If they didn’t have the key then they might have stopped you from achieving that 3 gen. The idea that you were winning was merely an illusion on your part. They knew something you didn’t, much like how many people lose to blood warden. You always have to factor in keys even when you’re confident of your win. That’s just how the game is played.
-

I was playing with Freddy today. After Nemesis released, i did not played with him so much. I miss my boi and i did back to him. Anyway i played with 8 matches today and i got 3K or 4K. Pop + BBQ + Corrupt + Devour was my build.
9th game was againts SWF team. They did not joined game with key. I played well and i killed 1 of them. 2 of them were on last hook, if i would caught them. Just Jake never got hooked and i hooked him and i started patrol my generators. I do not like camp, so i gave them chance to save Jake.
Anyway i was patrolling my gens but noone was doing any generator. They saved Jake and then i got spam voice notice. And when i go to them, they escaped with hatch. One of them found key in chest possibly (I checked one of them had plunderer) and they were looking for hatch. I played better than them but i lost game. Can anyone explain me, how this is fair?
Honestly, I think this is a recurring theme with a lot of people, not just killers but with survivors too. (I was doing good and winning but I lost. Woe is me.) Like it or not keys are part of the game. On the other side, blood warden is part of the game. Plan accordingly. Btw, just because everybody is on last hook doesn’t necessarily mean you’re winning. There is a real strategy behind allowing the killer to spread the hooks around and that Jake probably allowed you to hook him by choice. 3 escaping by hatch means 4 gens were done. You were closer to losing than you realize, or maybe breaking even with one more kill. The use of the keys just makes it easier to ignore that fact, no offense intended.

"Over a month", when the rift page literally says 21 days. Which is less than a month. Old gen means PS4 and XOne. It IS unplayable. You miss so much stuff because of the frame drops, and Dead Hard works even less than before. Which was already baffling.
3 weeks, whatever. That’s 21 tiers if you do one a day which is ridiculously easy now that they’ve dropped the requirements for rift fragments and are at all good at the game. I’ve been able to get two fragments out of a single match! And yes, I play on PS4 so I know what you say is BS. “Unplayable” give me a break. For a game that is supposedly broken I sure didn’t have much of a problem completing the rift!

Guess you haven't tried playing on console, especially old gen ones, have you? If you didn't, I reckon your (I hope) unaware reply has some sense. If you did, though, that's just nonsense. As @Ruma said, just because you reached it, it doesn't mean that everyone else did, especially with how barely playable the game is right now. Plus, not everyone has the time to be playing DbD all day long, or videogames in general.
By old gen, what do you mean? I’m on console right now and had no problems reaching tier 70. No, I don’t expect everyone to be as far along as I am (literally reached 70 yesterday), but there is still more than a month left for the rift. Sorry that Im not feeling the sympathy, but unplayable is a huge exaggeration.
-
I don’t see why they need to. I already reached tier 70 and the last part doesn’t drop until tomorrow, mainly because they dropped each rift fragment from 800xp to 500xp. It’s so easy to complete it now all you need to do is play. How much help do you really need?
