  • I don’t think that just because a game goes long it means that the game is being held hostage. Most people are just looking for a window of opportunity that might not arrive, or most likely waiting for you to find the others so they can make a break for the hatch. They can’t stay in a locker long because of crows so they are moving around. It’s a pain, but is it really against the rules?

  • I’d like Ash’s Mettle of Man to be an actual perk, but instead it is nothing but a huge crutch all for a tiny little benefit that would maybe give you an additional 15 seconds before being put on a hook anyways. I know that it has been nerfed since release but now it’s totally worthless. It’s the one perk that I actively and vigilantly kept from being trainable and polluting the bloodweb of others. Maybe it works for other’s playstyles. No way in hell it works for mine.

  • I guess they kind of asked for it by creating a stupid challenge like making people use two keys. I wouldn’t play like that but I understand the logic.

  • Maybe there should be a change in the system, like forcing survivors in the red ranks to play 1 out of every 5 games as the killer before they can play as survivor again? It could be incremental, too. Rank 10’s could have to play as killer 1/10, newbies not at all. Just a thought.

Thats why its not fair lol. You shouldnt be able to win against them. Well, you also shouldnt be matched with them in the first place, but matchmaking is broken.

So lution to that is fixing matchmaking, not giving you a perk that lets you win against people better than you.

1 kill out if 4 isn’t really a win. If it’s unfair then so are moris. DBD isn’t supposed to be fair. Killers are supposed to have the upper hand. If I somehow by some twist of fate manage to kill 3/4 or even 4/4 then that is because of the survivors extreme overconfidence. They know NOED exists. They should have been cleansing totems and not just rushing gens.

(Second time posting this. Don’t know why they keep deleting if I try to edit posts.)

I have answered this post 3 times now and it keeps not appearing. I think matchmaking isn’t the only thing that’s broke.

1 out of 4 kills isn’t a win. DBD isn’t supposed to be fair to survivors. If by some miracle I manage to do a clean sweep with NOED then that is due to their own overconfidence. They know that perk exists. They should be cleansing and not just rushing gens.

For instance, as a survivor, I just came across two other survivors working on a gen with a glowing, active totem literally right next to them within their line of sight. I’m sure they would have gotten to it afterwards, but given the odds that the killer would be by (and he was by) before the gen was done it seems really silly to leave that standing given how much faster it is to cleanse.

  • It’s completely fair. I’m a level 16 killer. If I’m going to be matched with a lobby where half of the survivors are level 2 and 3 (which happened just now), and the other two are 8 and 15, I need to have something like this to even up the odds.

And even THEN I am still probably going to only kill 2 at most.

  • I’ve only been playing since about October and I still get messages from what I call “losers” from time to time. There’s nothing more pathetic than picking fights with complete strangers via IM just because a game doesn’t go your way, I don’t care how lousy (or good) of a player they are. An exception might be made if they were deliberately holding the game hostage somehow, but even then 99% of the time I would simply report them and let it go.

But yeah, it happens a LOT more than it should. People need to grow up.

  • I don’t think that it was very well thought out. Escape through the hatch with 2 Keys is difficult enough that it should have been saved for Level 4. It’s should be worth a hell of a lot more than 30,000 bloodpoints, and definitely shouldn’t be bottlenecking the far easier Jane Romero challenges. I’ve already completed all of Level 1 and 2 and all of the other survivor challenges to level 3, and am about to begin on the killer’s, but I suspect that I might be well into level 4 before I complete that one, if I ever do. There’s just too many things out of my control to fail, and I only have a limited supply of purple and red keys in my supplies. For 30,000 it should be changed to escape 1 time, not 2. That’s ridiculous.

  • It can go both ways. I have seen experienced killers with seemingly overpowered perks positively steamroll over survivors. Honestly, if I was that good I’d probably get bored and switch to a different game. When it stops being a challenge for me, I’m gone.

Just kidding....sort of. Blatant face-camping is a bad strategy for a killer, and it is the survivors fault if it works. If survivors are going to keep throwing themselves at the hook, certain killers will take advantage of that. You want to stop that type of facecamping, finish the gens and escape with the killer only getting 1 kill. That will teach them a valuable lesson...but far too few survivors do that.

The most annoying hook camper is Leatherface. I have had multiple ones just stand in front of me with their chainsaw revving. I’ll stay on the hook as long as possible to help the others fix the gens but it is definitely a tiresome strategy. I’ve seen so many games go down the toilet because of everybody suicidally throwing themselves at hook after hook while I try to actually do something escape. And then I get trolling IMs for not helping out, lol.

  • What I don’t appreciate is that the challenge creates a bottleneck to two far easier challenges. Feels like it should be worth more bloodpoints.
