  • Nah, she isn’t a serial killer. She only killed everybody at the prom due to traumatic shock. She couldn’t control her power.

    I want The Tall Man.

  • They both have pros and cons. Constant information is good but even with the cooldown I like to know which direction he is coming from. I’ll look out for the change in color in the future when I use spine chill. It’s hard to see the perk light up in the corner because I sit so close to the screen when I play and it’s a 42”.

It’s nice when you play against good people. I dipped my toes into killer yesterday to try Demodoggy seriously (I only played him to troll and meme in the past), and I did horrible against a decent group on Corn map with the combined. They realized I was bad and just tbagged the whole time and weren’t very nice in the chat.

But posts like yours gives me hope for humanity.

Yeah, I’m not a great player either, and when trolls IM me to call me trash I always say that I’d rather be a trash player than trash in real life.

  • I met my wife on dbd!

just kidding. I’ve only been playing since October. No real stories. Just like to play and don’t feel a lot of pressure to win like a lot of people do.

  • I get it now. You make rules for yourself and have a hissy fit when others don’t follow your unwritten laws. Gotcha. It’s like playing chess and getting mad at others for using a knight. You are a laugh riot!

  • And you’re arguing against the rules of the game. Keys are as valid as flashlights, toolboxes, and med kits. But you have chosen keys to be your main gripe. An item that 90% of the time gets wasted, and not all of them are even capable of opening the hatch. You keep accusing me of being toxic, but I am not the one in this conversation that is disconnecting because somebody has chosen to use a legit item that I don’t like used. Do you think I as a killer like flashlights shined in my face at every pallet I break? Of course not, but I don’t disconnect over it. Grow thicker skin or don’t play the game. I don’t give a rat if people escape me using keys because killing absolutely everybody isn’t essential to my self worth. I’m sure that it you were any good of a killer you could shut that stuff down. Use Franklin’s Demise if it bothers you that bad. Just stop ruining people’s game over your bruised ego. Sheesh!

  • Lol! You are quite the hoot. I play both survivor AND killer and, believe me, as far as this conversation goes I am pulling punches. Why? Because it isn’t worth it. You keep referring to yourself as a “reasonable” killer. Sorry. You’re anything but. You disconnect over keys. KEYS!!! That’s just asinine. But hey whatever floats your boat man. Just a quick mention that keys aren’t going away ever, and there are challenges created to use them. Have fun!

  • lol. As if a disconnecting killer is better than no killer at all. I’m personally glad you’re done because it’ll be less time wasted for everybody else. :)

If the key is as easy to see as other items then I would not d/c, since I would dodge it in the first place. Kinda feel people who complain about the d/c on key miss that. it's all about d/c, d/c OMG the d/c. And for the sake of accuracy the d/c comes at the start of the game, when you first see the key in game, NOT mid game.

I think I can speak for other killers/former killers out there when I say with all the added bs a "reasonable" killer has to put up with, i'm not going to get f*cked over by a key, an invisible key I can't sometimes see in the lobby, something which has happens alot more lately I assume because of the key challenges.

Insult me all fooking day if you want, say nasty things, claim i'm ruining the game and what ever else you got.

That's a line for me to walk away from killer, and Ill bet i'm not the only one.

If every survivor had your attitude, you wouldn't have to worry about killers "ruining the game" cause there wouldn't be anyway.

Reasonable people walk away when things become unreasonable, so guess who is left when the reasonable killers go away ?

Still having trouble figuring it out ?

I'm gonna take a guess what is going in your head right now................. D/C, D/C,D/C, D/C

lol the more you try to make excuses the more guilty you sound. D/C at the beginning is even worse than in the middle because at least we earned some points up until then. There’s nothing more aggravating than just barely starting the game only to have it cancelled that second because somebody left. I’m sure it has happened to everybody and has groaned over it before. And all because of a person like you. Thanks buddy! You rule!

Excuse me ? You were clearly disputing my whole killers are walking away, and you were like, nah YOU are walking away blah blah blah. Then I referenced that whole survivor wait times vs killer time thing.

So no you don't get to make up revisionist history of what did or did not take place.

Did i mention that what is going to be left as reasonable killers leave is longer wait times to get a camping LF/hard tunnel mori killers cause everyone else has fracked off ?

But, but, YOU are ruining the game.

Kinda hard to ruin it ( at least on the killer side) when you play less and less till the point you hardly play at all.

Still having trouble figuring it out me thinks.

Go back and reread my initial post in this thread which you chose to debate me over. There is no revisionist history here. You took my opinion on the subject of disconnecting and went on a different tangent. My point remains the same as it always did. The only person disconnecting because of people carrying keys is YOU.

Killers are not walking away ?

Looks at survivor wait times, looks at killer wait times. shrugs

Looks at surv wait times again for the reds to get once again another green/purple rank killer.

Conclusion don't let anyone fool you that people are walking away from playing killer, that's.............FAKE NEWS !!!

Well then count, if you are correct, any concerns about lack of killers and all the consequences that follow through from that now need not be concerned about, cause as you inform us, killers are not walking away, nuh uh, it's just me.

I’m not talking about people choosing not to play killer ever again, I’m talking about people choosing to disconnect in the middle of a game just because they are carrying a key. If you can’t see that then you are just seeing what you want. This discussion is going nowhere so I’ll leave you to your petty rambling.

There is NO explanation where you say that you’re disconnecting midgame and coming out to be the “good guy” in this discussion. You’re ruining the game for everybody else. End of story.

"A long wait time" for whom ? you as the survivor, not so much as killer.

But no, let most survivors adopt the attitude you have shown here, lets see how this ends...

It isn’t “killers” walking away, it’s just YOU walking away. That’s YOUR choice. I haven’t heard of anybody else doing it. Sure I may pass on a lobby if I get a sense that I am going to be outmatched, but disconnecting midgame is simply being juvenile. You’re being a bad sport and it is as simple as that. Sorry.

Assuming you play survivor and want to in the future, you really might want to start looking into those killer concerns, cause you know, there is more to life than waiting 5, 10, 15 mins to get a survivor game to face a LF who is going to face camp you all or the tunnel hard with mori killer becomes more and more as the "reasonable" killers have walked away.

The other options is to give the killers attitude, adopt a moral superior position of i don't care what your excuse is and enjoy sitting on your pedestal, cause your gonna have a long time to sit on it as you wait for a game as survivor.

Ho-kay, then. I don’t see how your post has anything to do what I said. If anything, a long wait time for a game only to disconnect is even more stupid. Disconnecting is just throwing a tantrum. Don’t do it.

  • I don’t care what the excuse is, disconnecting is simply bad sportsmanship. There’s more to life than simply winning at DBD you know.

I cant bring myself to pay for cosmetics . I'm sitting on like 87000 shards and my son is like spend some.

On what....a pretty dress. No thanks

That’s an awful lot of shards. What are you going to do with it if not for cosmetics? Trade them for bitcoin?

  • Most of the cosmetics cost more than the characters themselves. I think that it’s rather ridiculous. Gee, should I pay $5 for a survivor or killer I don’t have access to or $12 for a silly outfit for one I already own? What to do... what to do...

  • I am, but Friday the 13th is working fine. Must just be for dbd.

  • I prefer premonition.

  • There’s a lot of complaining about what is and what isn’t fair in this game. Who said life is fair? There’s a ton of things in this game that give people an edge no matter which side you’re on. It just depends on what you decide to bring into the game for perks, items and add ons. And just because you bring a key into the game it doesn’t guarantee that you’re going to live long enough to use it.

  • I did 4 totems an hour ago and NOED still activated because apparently I was the only one actively looking for totems. Talk about annoying!

  • @Skelemania said:

Don't forget that you can also wait for the killer to kick the hatch closed during the End Game Collapse & then re-open it with the key. Usually they'll head to one of the exit doors immediately after kicking it closed, so you'll get a free hatch.

That’s just what I did, combined with Left Behind. I gave up on trying to use Plunderers after about six games because I was finding everything but keys.

You are right I will get the pass tommorrow. I am level 48 do you think I can make it to 70? I only play survivor now and do survivor challenges.

You’d have a better shot at it if you played killer, too. A lot of the challenges don’t even require you to win and are pretty cake with the right perks. For instance there is one that involves The Doctor getting 3 survivors up to insanity 3. I just stacked the right perks to expand the terror radius range as far as possible and combined them with add ons that did the same and also to increase the insanity rate. I didn’t kill a single survivor but that wasn’t even my aim. Easiest blood points and rift points I’ve ever earned.

  • Given that each cosmetic will cost as much a rift pass you may as well just buy the rift pass and try to get them now.

I’m up to level 59 in the rift. Even if I don’t pass a single challenge in Chapter 4, at this point 4 weeks out from rift closing I’ll probably reach 70 just by grinding away in regular matches.

As killer If I can’t leave a game AKA (Ghostface on COLDWIND)

I’m gonna sit in the corner and make everyone Depip with me.

Survivors can’t get benevolent if I don’t hook and chaser emblem if I don’t chase. :/

Take your free escape, but I’m taking you down in the process D=<.

On another note it’s why I run a full endgame build now. I’m satisfied with just a kill if I’m not happy with in the game.

Lol. If you sit in the corner that only makes getting an iridescent evasion emblem even easier because all they need to do is continuously circle around you and that counts as a chase. We may not get a benevolent emblem but we can farm a hell of a lot of points from an afk killer.

  • There are trophies to earn for escaping hooks (Escape Artist, Not Today). You can only attempt to escape from the first hook. The only way that you are ever going to earn that trophy is if you risk suicide. You may not like it but the game is designed this way.

  • @Codela said:

Had a similar problem with a challenge in the first archive "earn 15 emblems of iridescent quality"... got 4 red emblems and it just counted as one.

It was in the first archive. I've reported it in the forums and it got forwarded. Kind of weird...

Yeah, in the first tome there’s one that glitched for me, the one to sacrifice 12 (15?) survivors. I got 4 in one round, which should have totaled 8 all together but afterwards it just said 4. I thought it was strange because I was sure that I already had 4, so I tried again, the next round getting 3. Sure enough afterwards my total was... still 4. At that point I just gave up and did other challenges.

  • @Nicholas said:

I kept running into this with the great heights challenge, it finally worked when I used Sprint Burst on the same map. The description doesn't specify SB but a friend of mine had the same issue and it worked with SB.

The challenge didn’t work for me the first time, but I just figured that I wasn’t in the chase long enough before I jumped down the hole in Hawkins. So I tried again, making sure that I was a considerable distance from the hole before making a break for it. I then kept going back up the stairs to do it again and again. I got three attempts that round before I figured that had to work. It did. I didn’t have to use sprint burst.

  • The only two perks that I have been running consistently are Premonition and Small Game on survivor. Also, Ruin on Killer because it always seems to be a huge mistake if I don’t.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1132463#Comment_1132463

First off no one called you stupid i said the idea was stupid with that being said if behavior actually addressed why people would kill themselves on hook the issue would go away not everyone does it because they "are losing" a lot of people do it because they see there team crouching around the map searching chests over doing generators its a valid complaint.

Its just like killers who refuse to hook a survivor during end game and make them wait 2 minutes to die on the ground you are basically wasting their time on purpose and honestly your idea would be doing the same thing.

Yeah, that’s generally why I do it, when it’s obvious that nobody is going to come rescue me because they’re doing stupid things that have no point to them. If I have distracted the killer in a long chase and the others haven’t used the opportunity to get a single gen done then there is a good chance that I may try to kill myself on my first hook rather than waste my time with a group that has zero potential.

  • I saw a Pig doing this just last week. Just kept running around him for easy points.

  • @Khalednazari said:

Break 4 Pallets with Spirit Fury in one match. I knew its gonna take a while, because that's 12 dropped pallets, so I farmed with the survivors. I cannot thank my fellow survovirs enough.

No, that’s just 4 pallets. You didn’t actually have to use spirit fury to break the pallets, you just had to have it as one of your perks. A lot of the challenges are like that.

  • @Mister_xD said:

    the david ones.

    my david is level 1.

    enough said xD

for the protection hit one i'd recommend grouping up with a SWF and having an injured guy around the exit gate with you and then take a hit when you are 100% safe next to the dude to get your protection hit and the escape at once.

for the 30 second chase i sadly dont have a trick, so im kinda stuck with it...

The 30 second chase was pretty easy because it doesn’t all have to be in one shot. You can get chased for 15 seconds, get hooked, saved, get chased for 10 seconds, hooked, and then get the last 5 seconds running for the gate. The hardest part is in getting good teammates.

  • Well we’re not all professionals at the game.

The ones that I thought I would never get wound up being fairly simple to accomplish once I thought about the combination of perks I wanted to run. The one that I thought was going to be easy but wound up taking a ridiculously long time was escaping with Jane Romero after stunning the killer. I kept getting stuck with lousy teammates and just generally having bad luck myself. I don’t think that I have ever gone so long without the gates being open. Wound up getting it finally by finding a red map on the ground and locating the hatch after the last sacrifice, lol.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

We dont want any mains...play both sides pls

I don’t understand why people would choose to only be a survivor (or killer for that matter). The easiest way to learn how to counteract a killer is to play as that killer to learn what its capabilities are. For example, I didn’t know that the spirit couldn’t actually see people while she was shifting around until I played as her.

  • I’ve had this happen and the difference is more extreme because I’m rank 15/16. And to those that say rank means nothing, I disagree. It may not be a perfectly executed system but it definitely means something. There should never be more than one color difference in rank between survivor and killer but it happens with alarming frequency. I try to get hints in the lobby of experience level and bail if they are obviously in a higher tier than I am. Prestiged Megs with flashlights? Hard pass. Lol

  • @Demogordon_Ramsay said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1127108#Comment_1127108

Increased chapter cost would be a very strange reason since you could just buy Demo individually from the shop for 5 bucks.

If you want Demo at all then you probably want the other Stranger Things characters too. Buying individually probably doesn’t even occur to most people.

  • @Demogordon_Ramsay said:

Demogorgon and Oni mostly. I don’t understand why Demo’s play rate is so low; he’s not that easy but he’s certainly not as hard as some Killers, and when mastered he’s really good. Oni is one of the best examples of high skill, high reward in this game. Bad Oni’s really are just worse Billies. Good Oni’s are old Nurse tier, no lie.

If I had to guess, if Demo’s play rate is so low it probably has more to do with the fact that the Stranger Things Chapter costs more than the others so less people own him. But I do see him played a lot more than I do with The Clown, who after beginning to play dbd I went almost two months without seeing used, and had absolutely no idea what the hell was happening when I finally did. I see him more now, but I think it has to do with the new cosmetics won in the rift.

  • @Shi said:

We will match any killer if survivals wait in lobby too long.

If they fix red survivals to face with only red killers, they will wait more than 1hr.

What is the main problem in DbD now? Matchmaking or Lack of killers?

Maybe they should stop making killer always a volunteer decision. For the good of match making there shouldn’t be so many people that never opt to play the role because this is what ultimately happens. Everybody ranks up to 1 but stays at 20 for killer so the game’s equilibrium is totally out of whack. Red rank survivors need to begin playing as killers at least 25% of the time, but that isn’t going to happen unless the devs put their foot down.

  • My idea (not that they’d ever do it): start conscripting people into service as killer. The higher your rank, the more you have to play as killer. Say, if you’re rank 20 you don’t have to be killer, but if you’re rank 1 you have to be killer at least 1 out of 10 games and maybe even more often than that. If you don’t then you’re cut off, and no cutting games short with disconnects to cheat your way out of it.

It’s kind of a nuclear option, but would work because obviously the main problem is there simply isn’t enough red rank killers to handle the red rank survivor overload.

  • I don’t like any of the indoor maps. Feels too much like a game of Pac-Man except all of the survivors are blue ghosts and Pac Man is the bad guy.

  • Level 3 is definitely more grindy than the previous two and definitely less fun. Way too many of them involve having to escape, and it doesn’t help that when I am a survivor (8) I keep getting matched up with survivors even worse than I am, and when I am a killer (rank 16) there is often at least 1 red rank survivor, two 8s, and maybe a 15 (if I’m lucky).

  • I don’t know if the game can actually sense if people are communicating via swf, but if it can then maybe the devs could try to balance it out a bit by making it so if you are using mics then that ipso facto counts as a perk, therefore you would lose access to one perk, having to play with 3 instead of 4. Just a thought. Otherwise, no real thoughts about it. It doesn’t really bother me much.

  • As killer,I’ve gotten hit by pallets even when I intentionally kept back from them. Other times when I’m a survivor I’ll get hit magically by a killer that somehow makes it through to my side of the pallet and hit me, but THEN get stunned. It can be silly sometimes.

  • Mettle of Man takes top prize, and really any of the three Myers’ perks because they really don’t give you anything in return for a serious handicap in its place. Perks should give you some sort of extra advantage. These just pile on and added challenge for what, bloodpoints? They help you lose, not win.

  • I don’t get stressed as killer because it isn’t like the survivors can actually kill me. Plus a lot of times there’s no need to kill them all if I have particular challenges in mind. If I complete a challenge in a round I consider it a personal win even if everybody escapes. I did what I needed to do.

You’re right. I was a little drunk when I originally posted and misread the intent of the original post. My bad.

  • No, but if no gens have been fixed and the hatch hasn’t spawned yet, or you don’t know where it is, and you need Left Behind to find it, it’s a good strategy to wait until the killer finds it first and then reopen it while he is distracted patrolling the gates. That’s how I managed to do it.

You don´t think that a surv thats in a a locker for 30 minutes isnt holding the game hostage? I mean yes you can kill him, but you dont want to, because you want this stupid achievement, then what?

Can’t the killer just take the person out of the closet and then drop them to perform the kill? and they can’t stay in one closet forever because crows. Makes them easy to find.
