it is everyone's challenge, not "yours"
Challenges are also supposed to be, you know, challenging...
It's not everyone's challenge if they don't select it point being this does encourage toxicity, had someone dc because someone was stealing their glyph point being this isn't good for the game.

If this were implemented, what is the point of pallets anymore?
I mean it's already in the game on Ghostface and people seem to make pallets just fine?

Pretty sure rpd is the only exception for some reason
I swear it was reported as a bug at first
Yeah, I just had this map and me and the David both thought the Hatch bugged because it sounded like it was under ground, but nope turns out it was upstairs weird.
-
Maybe at lower MMR, sure, but at higher, nah, not really to be totally honest at best you get one or two kills with it depending on the team, most just wait until you hook the person you've downed with NOED open the doors, and leave.

Trapper has Coffee Grounds. He moves 5 % faster for 5 seconds after setting a Trap.
That's not what I'm saying this addon rewards Ghostface for marking a Survivor the addon you just mentioned isn't comparable I'm asking for either a basekit buff for example Trapper or an Addon that rewards him for catching a survivor in the bear trap. The point is, this addon, should be a thing all M1 Killers have as it allows them to close the distance faster, just like Ghostface.

They really don't care and its obvious they said Two Years ago that this was coming and "we hear you" but in typical Behavior fashion the higher ups swept it under the rug because why waste time on graphic resources that would be far more valuable to the community when you openly promised it but hey man who needs Graphical Settings totally not like there was just a 350k tourney where almost 99.9% of the content creators ripped this game a new rear end or anything. Don't worry guys, they'll add more graphical settings by the time we all hit 80 years old and are in retirement homes.

Didn't they say that they're looking to change Dead Hard like 2 Years ago?
No, that was when you could get hit and be exhausted on the ground, which Behavior went in and did fix however. It showcased how stupidly strong it can be, which is why they're having to go back and change it again, which is a very sensitive thing code wise since it involves ping.

Add an anti-aliasing toggle BHVR.
edit: in the actual menus please. not the config. its been 2 years since your "promise".
They should instead of ignoring it.
-
Nope can't turn Anti Aliasing off either.
-
@Kurri said:
Is that why that flickering keeps happening in my games? I assumed that was just BHVR having terrible servers?
Nah, that's not it, but Anti Aliasing is supposed, to help improve performance, this is an example of it not doing that.

Yeah I mean like, I'm not gonna get mad at Patrick or anything because I imagine working for BHVR is a very turbulent thing sometimes, like I imagine they have like a billion things they wanna do and it just doesn't happen. It's why we don't get 'promises' like this anymore because people get upset (Rightfully so, of course)
Then again they work like 3 chapters ahead of where the game currently is so idk
But hey, this confirms that being able to disable it was something that was given the okay since they brought it back, so hopefully come the next hotfix they rectify this instead of leaving us hanging.
I don't blame Patrick. I blame Behavior, there's a difference; he's only the messenger, so he doesn't deserve blame, but whoever has put this off for two years deserves some criticism.

Replying to bump this back to the top :). Yeah, it’s bad. I’ve never had performance issues this bad with the game (I play on PC). Just a simple explanation from BHVR to say “this is why we have AA active and no option for you to change it” would be nice - that would take about two minutes of someone’s time. The fact that we can’t even get that from them is really sad.
Thanks man, and yeah, at least, something right, keeping us in the dark on this is gonna lead to people getting more frustrated, just come out and say why it's even active in the first place.
-
See now this actually angers me hearing this dude say "we're working on it right now we've got designs in the pipeline" two years ago. Seriously Behavior get a grip two freaking years to add an option seriously and you wonder why you get criticism all the time.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
The thing is, AA doesn’t help anyones performance. It’s a bog on hardware and looks terrible. I can only hope there’s some internal discussion going on about why this change was pushed and how quickly they can revert it.
We can only hope.

@Brokenbones said:
I guess we need to just keep making threads or bumping the active threads until we get an actual response
It's a shame because these posts are thrown instantly into the feedback section, which might as well be the void section at this point. I don't understand what about Anti Aliasing Behavior likes sure it can benefit to some degree, but it's not a bandaid to optimizing your game this is months and months and months of not optimizing the game and instead just pushing things in, if they just dedicated a little time to optimization we wouldn't be in this situation what ever happened to Mid Chapter Patches being Optimization patches.

Yeah, taking the cheat creator to court.
That is pretty much how you do it but that's assuming they're in Canada or the US.
-
Yes, it's still a thing shortly after the Ban Wave, the companies who are selling these Cheater products were tipped off instantly because when you install the hack client it saves your steam ID into their database and they can instantly see who's banned this was all confirmed via Choy in his video he talked with someone involved in that space. It's an arms race. Behaviour catches on, and then they catch on; this will be a back and fourth until Behavior has hit them where it really hurts.
-
The only shadow nerf to Trapper I can think of is the Trap hitboxes being penny size now.
-
I think Trapper needs a Mori Change I think personally he should stomp the Survivors head into a Beartrap.
-
So what you're telling me is you want Anti Aliasing- Behavior.
-
@EntitySpawn said:
Yeah it's stupid easy, its because they dont code the path to hooks just the distance between them.
Yeah, that and there's 0 hooks in the street honestly probably the best Sabo Map even better than RPD, I think tbh.
-
I really dislike having to reinstall the entire game, however download speeds being way faster after the compression is done is a huge worth it. That's also assuming the files have been compressed enough. Also, assuming Behavior going forward, keeps compressing, new files added.

It sounds like these perks are pretty cool, but just so I can understand the first perk is like you get a token each time a survivor is hooked until you reach 4, correct? Kind of like Remember Me? I think that these are some cool perks that could combo into some nasty endgame builds.
Yep you'd be correct.
-
@NoObzBoiYT said:
both perks are useless and wont be used much. good idea tho
I mean I wouldn't say useless they would be used within end game builds so they have potential.
-
This has been known it was done to "reduce farming" which I mean whatever at this point I don't know why people are surprised same Dev team who probably thinks Trapper is OP.

Serious question. Why don't you just hide your own chat? All you have to do is press on the chat icon 1 time and it will stay hidden until you hit it again. Why does everyone have to lose the ability to chat just because some people don't like it? i don't understand the problem.😅
I've answered this already refer to above.
-
@Kurri said:
They should add a button under settings to be able to remove it entirely, only being able to turn it back on in settings outside of the lobby and game. This way players who have a hard time with the chat do not even have the ability to open it after game. Out of sight - out of mind.
I just want them to either openly stop censoring every English word in the dictionary and only censor things that are problematic not words that apply to in game things, or just remove it and add something new.

I will bite this bait:
"EnDgAmE cHaT iS oNlY fOr SaLt oR gGs SeRvEs No ReAl PuRpOsE."
It's from the OP:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/319824/can-we-just-remove-end-game-chat
Despite your bad experience, there is actually quite a lot of fun to be had in end game chat. Some people actually enjoy the discussions about the match, talk builds, say hello to friends, and even the banter after matches. This thread's purpose is to remove those opportunities and reduce the chance to make friends online who also share an interest in DBD.
I am against it.
The developers have already implemented a tool for players that feel like OP: Close your own chat. Stop trying to close others.
Dude you seriously didn't read the post it's pretty obvious you go your own way because you clearly don't want a civil discussion you want to use a strawman and provide nothing of value to the post have a good day and pick things out of context to use the "IT'S BAIT OMG CAN'T BELIEVE SOMEONE SAID THEY DON'T HAVE MY SAME EXPERIENCE WITH CHAT"
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2912301#Comment_2912301
So you had a bad experience? Therefore everyone else must only have bad experiences? So you want to make sure no one has any experiences?
Good lad.
When in the world did I say I had a bad experience did you even read the post be honest don't cap. Guess making a suggestion means someone had to have had a bad experience.
-
@Sludge said:
Remove the censor, leave chat alone.
They won't do that is the problem and they for sure won't loosen the censoring.
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
Close your own chat. Stop trying to close others.
Again, this is such a strawman. Why is this the go-to instead of looking for a way to improve chat functionality versus what it is right now. It's like, why should we fill the pothole in the road you can just drive around it, kinda logic. No one is saying you can't chat, but it'd be nice to see a new chat function versus everything being censored out, it's really bad compared to other games.
-
@TheArbiter said:
Just click the button that closes chat if it bothers you that much
Sigh, that's a strawman or we could look for a way to improve chat functionality, instead of continuing to use a chat that's heavily censored because Haddionfield totally hurt peoples feelings.

@Peanits said:
They will be unpainted, yes. Having them come painted would increase the production costs pretty significantly, and that would leave the game costing more. It was decided to leave them unpainted so it could be more affordable to more people.
That said, if you do decide to paint them, please share pictures, we'd love to see them.
You know I can actually respect that was sad they didn't come painted but after reading this I kinda like the way they did this.
-
That sucks
And yeah I know sucks they showed them painted but they're standard gray.
-
@VoidOfMe said:
yeah, they know you guys wouldn't like the changes
we all know you guys don't like anything lol
You offer nothing to the discussion. I'm simply pointing out the flaw in what they're doing; continue doing what you do best commenting nonsense. It's not about whether or not we like anything I've been vocal about what I like; feel free to check my past posts, but I am not going to sit by and act like this is a good change period. I see the flaws that will happen feel free to check back when they do.

That's true but I think that is more to do with in game mechanics that need adjusting rather than MMR. Hopefully a more relaxed MMR system incentivises people to bring more chill perks and we can see less double range nurses or 2 CoH + 4 DH.
I'd hope so but something tells me that's just not gonna happen I fear even the mid skill players will convert to the meta tbh.
-
@Hex_Ignored said:
That's also the problem I'm seeing. They plan to match low mmr players exclusively with each other, which is a very good change, while at the same time throwing some unfortunate mid mmr players into unwinnable trials against high mmr players so they can have "laid back" trials.
It's exactly the problem this just seems like a "good ole slap a band aid on it call it a day we're tied of paying Money to fix this- Behaviour "
-
Idk I just don't think it solves anything respectfully sure they believe they found a balance but the one thing I see missing from this equation is people who go out of their way to make the game unfun, for either side, this hasn't changed nor been addressed. It's indeed the elephant in the room. All this does is burn out even more players, so now it's not only, High MMR who are tired of MMR in the game.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I'm pretty disappointed with the the changes. They had me right up until "lowering the effective" skill cap. My killer matches are already super easy and boring 9 times out of 10. They don't need to get any easier. I think they're making the same mistake they made with the initial MMR launch. They're trying to pleas everyone with a single solution. I don't see myself sticking around outside of SWF if the game gets even more casual.
I don't mind it being casual but I do mind giving sweat squads more of an advantage and more ability to get off on their bullying techniques.

Aren't Steam charts monthly and not real time?
They update periodically after 30 days but seeing as how we don't know for sure when this ban wave took place I'd assume that loss of players could be cheaters.

I checked the Steam charts for this and the last 30 days people were like why did we lose 2,543.3 players all of them were possibly hackers
I thought the exact same thing maybe we lost a ton of hackers that's quite possible.
-
@Yankus said:
The problem is they gave the game away for free on epic games and people made thousands of accounts to cheat on so no matter how often you ban them, they will return eventually.
Its a start atleast this seems that its gonna be a reoccuring kinda thing though.
-
@katoptris said:
Well that nice but I don't think this will stop them from messing with it again.
It's a start it will hurt those who subtle cheat for sure but there's still a long path ahead but at least it's confirmed Behavior is tackling these things head on and it wasn't too long ago they did a ban wave so to see it becoming more consistent is a good sign.
-
SBMM (Doesn't belong in this game)
Hackers (We need a better anti cheat)
Gen Spread (With maps being made smaller the time to get on a gen decreased by ten fold)
Killer Viability (I mean only 3 Killers are considered viable)
-
Imma keep it a stack.
There are cool thing that mobile has examples being.
1.) Better skins and Exclusives.
2.) A communication System for Survivors.
3.) Daily Rewards.
However, there's some shady practice going on there that if ever came into Dead by Daylight I'm sure a lot of people would be really pissed off over, and that's the loot box system, by far the scummiest and biggest turn off about mobile.

@SkeletalElite said:

Thats only if the hatch hasn't spawned or all the gens have not been done yet. Once the hatch has spawned or the gates are powered the killer has the ability to end the match and it is therefore impossible for a survivor to hold the killer hostage.
Yes that is true but the way the OP is describing this seems like this hasn't entered end game technically.
-
@SkeletalElite said:
Neither party is holding the game hostage in this situation because poth parties have the ability to end the match. Claudette can repair gens or let him kill her. Nemesis can close the hatch.
It's been explained several times by mods and dev's that if a Survivor isn't doing anything for 20+ minutes it's holding the match hostage key or not.
-
In this situation the ball is in Claudette's court she has the ability to do generators if she chooses not too well respectfully she's holding the match hostage there's nothing in the rules that says a Killer standing on Hatch is holding the match hostage but there is something that says if a Survivor isn't doing anything for 20+ minutes it's reportable.
