I like the idea, but sadly knowing this community, it'll never get use because people seem to deem everything in the game as toxic.

They need to stop with the Twitch/Amazon Prime crap and just have the cosmetics/charms associated with it purchasable via the in-game store. I missed out on some good cosmetics all because I don't have a credit card for Twitch/Amazon Prime .
I mean I respectfully disagree Twitch Prime is a popular thing in many games sure you might miss out on content but knowing Behavior like I do I highly doubt these skins will stay exclusive knowing Behavior they're just "timed" also it's a very good way to bring more eyes to Dead by Daylight which it does.
If you want me to be honest, they should be exclusive, but I just have this itch telling me, knowing Behavior they aren't, which is gonna cause a whole new storm later on that I'm for sure of.
-
I don't see it coming back and respectfully, even if there was a chance I don't see Behavior ever wanting to work with Netflix again in terms of the Stranger Things Chapter they got snaked once doubt it'll happen twice.
-
Iridecent Stone basekit would be nice honestly but it'll never happen.

Billy without overheat would be fine in today’s meta, he needs some buffs already, hell some people still complain about him being instadown when he’s the hardest killer to play
I don't disagree but you missed where I said billy without overheat and a charge.

Comes off like you can't really argue what I said to be untrue, so you are grasping at straws for some type of argument.

If he is such a problem prove it record video of you playing it
Why would I "record videos" of me playing a Killer I openly dislike to prove a point to some random person on the internet you went from saying "I can only agree that he has some problematic addons but that is all i have fun versing and playing him" which is fine to, well, if he's such a problem record videos of him, what a weird rebuttal.
-
The difference is with Boon the Survivors healing speeds are buffed stupidly which takes away the split pressure play style or well "hit and run" which was commonly used to counter gen rushing back during the old anti heal meta
-
I wouldn't say it will ever be balanced however it can feel a lot better in the long run.

Like all killers should be a problem and not toys for survivors to play with got it? If you really played blight against very good team you would have known better
There's a difference between being strong and a problem very clear difference Nurse isn't a problem she's strong Blight is a problem there's no downside for a baby blight missing his attack because he can just boink in two seconds again and with an add on even faster you see the problem that's being presented here correct?
Secondly, you can play a Killer and still call out the problem that exists with said Killer refusing to understand the common complaints is exactly why people got blind sided by Hillbilly's nerf agree with it or not, the signs were there for a hot minute.
Lastly, this, well, "Good Survivors" this and that has become overused at this point Behavior doesn't care about good Survivors or good Killers they care what casuals think of the game; why this is even still used in discussions is mind blowing casuals hate blight so he will be nerfed; some veterans like myself also dislike him for good reason. Until Blights are rewarded for actually getting hits versus just playing Blight, I will continue to dislike him respectfully.

@eaebree said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2899140#Comment_2899140
Thats how you see somebody never played blight and wants to speak about it.
The point remains the same there's no downside for missing your attack when you're rewarded with your tokens back insanely quick there's also an Addon that makes it even faster so how this can even be debated lmao. Imagine Billy didn't have to charge up also Imagine a world where Billy didn't have, Overheat, that's Blight without the instant down. Billy was nerfed because he felt overwhelming, and if you can honestly say Blight doesn't give that same impression, I don't know what to tell you.
Secondly, I have played Blight and I find him just boring and I find his addons to be problematic just because someone has an opinion doesn't mean they haven't played the Killer in most cases yes, but I try Killers before forming an opinion. He's a problem.
-
I personally hope what ever they did for the April 7th test is what they implement it felt good not too sweaty but not too "ew baby survivors" you know, like today, I've gotten nothing but baby Survivors, on both sides.
-
Nurse- Because she ignored the entire game and is a cheat code.
Blight- There's no downside to missing you get your tokens back in 0.5 seconds.

You guys are trippin' that charm is lit.
It's not tripping, and we're not saying the skin isn't cool, but there's hundreds of charms it's hard to be excited for something that probably won't be used that often and becomes, a filler option as a twitch prime reward.

"there's a reason this kinda thing is avoided with Twitch Prime "
What do you mean by this?
I'm saying games like Apex legends for example don't give charms out there's a theme behind what they do it's "Skin/banner/gunskin" and the reasoning behind this is sure charms or spray paints can be cool for filler rewards for twitch prime they fall short that's what I mean. Skins will always be the better option period unless you're giving Auric cells which won't ever happen.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2898168#Comment_2898168
Why is it avoided?
Because Charms don't entice people they're good filler rewards for battle passes but by themselves don't perform well.
-
@Mooks said:
a full character cosmetic would be better but are you really trying to talk them down for giving out a charm for free just because it could have been more?
I'm giving feedback but yes while it's free the point remains the same other games avoid this practice because they are aware charms aren't that enticing while there good filler rewards in battle passes etc they aren't very good twitch prime rewards.

I won't lie, it is underwhelming but tbf it is a freebie for those with membership and we have already had 4 outfits.
I get that it's free, but the problem is it's a charm, right, we've already got hundreds to choose from while it's cool and all it's a very, and I mean very underwhelming thing, there's a reason this kinda thing is avoided with Twitch Prime hopefully they learn from it, surely they do.

Wow. Just wow.
Everytime you think they can't sink any lower, you get something like this.
I'd say this was a huge disservice to their art team honestly the skins had been really nice and than to see a charm which sure it's cool and all but it feels so underwhelming compared to the skins their art team had been designing also sad there's no Trapper skin he's the face of the game you'd think he would have gotten something here but guess not.
-
@CharlieChatBox said:
Do you mean open? Additionally, if the Survivor already disarmed out your trap, you probably shouldn't get away with being able to continuously loop them without giving any distance up for an ability that can effectively instant down.
I mean, at that point, wouldn't it make sense for the survivor to just move on to another loop, what's stopping the trapper from taking 3 seconds to trap it. We can play what if's all day and that's the issue with discussing this sorta thing is what if's become the topic if anything the counter play to trapper would be hold W, which is already a counter to most Killers. The concept is to buff him to be more of a threat to Survivors, which this does exactly that. Good Survivors wouldn't have trouble adapting; all this does is give him more time he can be going for chases versus wasting time retrapping, which in the current meta sucks. What makes this any different than Billy and Leatherface.
-
@CharlieChatBox said:
That could lead to issues, as he does still trigger his own traps, and trap himself in them. This is probably why trap setting is still deliberate.
I mean not exactly just add a 3 second delay before the traps opens it would solve you stepping in that trap.

Today is the last day to get the Jake skin the new one releases tomorrow.

Literally staring at a generator occupying the whole screen for 80 seconds? I know survivors are used to dull gameplay but still.

Are they really? How could they tell. They don't have a way to check certain stats in the game like speed or if anybody is editing the game files.
There's multiple videos of hackings doing things to other players they're likely aware of it this isn't new.

Yeah but if I'm floating around and leave the game early doesn't that show that I'm the one hacking?
I mean not really Hackers can do that to other players Behavior is aware of that.
-
No, each report is reviewed by an ACM (A Human Moderator) pretty much who looks at the video evidence, and they've been trained to spot what cheaters, look like.

How's Grades being hidden translate to MMR being turn off?
Remember, when they went to migrate to MMR they took the ranks away because they added the "new grade icons" so they went to the Killer and Survivor icons prior to turning MMR on. Also I just played a good amount of matches and it's 100% off feels grade based for sure.

That was never a thing. The old system allowed for ranking and deranking. Fluxuating between rank 1-2 as an example.
With SBMM came the rank rewards and not being able to depip past a certain point.
I mean it was, but either way it's not hard to code in there was a point in time where you couldn't go past a certain rank; it's the same principal, just further expanded in MMR can easily be done.

It's in like, most PvP games, though. And again, most "competitive" games are actually broken up into casual and ranked modes, both of which utilise an MMR system.
By its definition it is competitive, yes, but so is DBD- it's PvP, it's just not a particularly serious or tournament-oriented game.
Dead by Daylight has competitive aspects, but the one thing that stops it from being "competitive" is RNG there's too much of it an example is Trapper and Pig, they both focus off RNG another example is Map layouts each map has the potential to spawn different loops, you can't call Dead by Daylight competitive when it has this much RNG. That's always been the problem and that's why so many people are against MMR the game wasn't built for it.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2891452#Comment_2891452
It does change it though. Currently you can't depip from the next stage. So once you hit rank 1. It doesn't matter
If they reverted to the old system and you can depip. People would legit NOT play to preserve that rank 1
Also. Again. It's a test day. Tomorrow the current SBMM will be back. With that said. Them testing other things. Shows they know the current system does NOT work.
You do realize prior to changing to MMR they made it so you couldn't derank that design came from the emblem system; you realize this correct? secondly, yes they're testing but assuming MMR is off which hasn't been confirmed is going to get a lot of positive feedback sure some comp players will be mad just like they were for Stretched Res being gone but the majority will be happy again.

MMR isn't a "competitive ranking system", it's just a matchmaking system. The quick-play modes on any game with a ranked ladder still use an MMR system to match people.
Now, if your point is that changing matchmaking doesn't fix game balance issues, I agree- but those game balance issues were still there under the emblem system and they were just as bad. It's a problem that needs fixing either way, MMR is irrelevant.
MMR is in 99% of competitive games; it is indeed a competitive ranking system; it works on the principal of you getting higher quality matches that's indeed competitive. MMR, by it's, own definition, is competitive.

I wouldn't get that high on it. Today is a confirmed TEST SBMM day.
Let alone rank rewards are a thing. People would legit NOT play if they hit rank 1 survivor as example. But they're not a great survivor. So they just don't play to preserve the 1mil reward
I mean nothing would change with the rewards you'd still get those that can be easily done. It's also tied to the Emblem system which I'm assuming is what's being used.

I'm... sorry, I don't follow?
What's wrong with the MMR system is that it broadens the matching criteria too much too quickly. Fixing that doesn't require a complete game overhaul?
Also, what does it being casual matter? Casual games still need matchmaking.
MMR is designed for games that have taken the steps to implement Behavior skipped past those steps and instead pushed it live, and that's the reason its hated so much also yes, it doesn't work period nothing is wrong with it being casual but casual games don't use competitive ranking systems.

If that is true, it is the best decision BHVR has made for some years now (i mean apart of the great work from the art team and the last IPs).
Let's see how it goes and if it is so let's all thank them for this.

Better to fix the thing that's actually wrong with the MMR rather than abandoning it and going back to a system that's proven not to work. I'd assume that grades being hidden is really just testing grades being hidden, since a lot of people mistakenly assume that the rank of their opponents was a sign of faulty matchmaking.
You can't fix whats wrong with MMR because it would require a complete game overhaul and Behavior doesn't have the time to invest in such a process that would take them 20+ years, they didn't wanna even invest in fixing the grind for 10 years, what makes you think they're willing to do so in Dead by Daylight. You wanna fix MMR shut it off, admit Dead by Daylight is casual, and move on to balancing the game.

I would take any of the previous matchmaking systems over MMR. The game isn't even remotely balanced enough for an MMR system to be a good idea.
The game functions in this state of terrible balance because of the bad matchmaking. It covered up the balance problems.

Ahhhh.
God, I hope not. Going back to that nightmare would be a straight downgrade.
Hard disagree, it would be admitting MMR doesn't work in this game, which it doesn't; it also doesn't protect new players because people can still downgrade their MMR for easier matches.

Well there's a simple solution to this problem, just run Wax Brick so they excape first try 33% slower :P
That's not a solution, to be fair, that slows the rate at which they "escape" from the trap, but the number of times is completely RNG. That's a big Strawman in this community "well just use this"
-
Watch out, saying the word Trapper makes Behavior fall to their knees in horror at the absolute Over Powered Hockey Monster he is. All jokes aside yeah he needs something.
Side bar, what Trapper Mains were you watching? I know of Otz and Lefty, but is there someone else?

Oh I would love this. I think dbd should really give us some non humanoid killer. Just saying they won't do it because it's difficult is kinda lame because many cool scary things are not humanoid
The Hooking Problem could be an easy solution just have the Spider Bite the Survivor and an Artificial hook is made similar to PH

Dead by Daylight need's something scary a Jumping Spider could add exactly that. Imagine the snipes that could be done LMFAO.
