Honestly, what boggles me the most is that, out of anything they could have come up with for this justification, they chose 'streamers can't multitask' to be their answer.
-
I can't be the only one here that feels this is stupid, right? Why do we need a survey to express our disappoinment with cheating? Shouldn't that be a given? That's like the police sending a survey to a crime ridden area asking how the residents feel about crime. It's redundant.
'Maybe' it's just a way for them to get a number to share with their higher ups, show its a big deal? That's a stretch, obviously. -

People don't like doing gens either. It's extremely boring and it's why we won't see gen times increased again. Mending is just extremely annoying.
Don't worry. BHVR will give survivor players the ability to auto mend without pressing a button in the future.

Plague. She was unique at the time (five years ago), and I enjoyed how different I had to play her, and those against her.
Unfortunately, as the servers started to lose stability, I started losing my drive to play her, as her power was dependent on connection. -
How much more do you want?
-
Dredge. He just needs better locker placement, as well as additional locker spawns on some maps.
His controls could use some work. They're a bit hanky from locker selection to his remnant.
Lastly, he needs a spider themed skin. Cause spiders are cool.

I won 40% of the games I played with my first few being 1ks because I didn't understand the new killer well enough (rightfully so). You seem to have the mindset that if you are "trying" you deserve to win no matter what. You think the people I was playing against weren't experienced or trying? Because they were. But that's a moot point because Dead By Daylight is NOT A COMPETITIVE GAME. It is a horror themed party game, if you are actively going into games to try hard and ruin the experience for other players you are the problem and deserve to be punished for it. Because you seem to think only your enjoyment matters just because the game is competitive in your eyes.
Not to mention why even bring that up in the first place, this is a post about **AVERAGE PLAYERS** something I very blatantly said I was playing like during the games I played. If every single "high MMR" killer player gets punished because they can win every game anymore then good, they deserve that, having anything higher than 50% winrate in a "competitive" game shows severe imbalance, because thats obviously what high MMR players see the game as right? They aren't just trying to enjoy a fun party game? You are putting words in my mouth. I mentioned nowhere that 'trying' equaled 'must win.' I simply stated that if you are going into the match with the intention of winning as killer, than the steps required to do so just became longer. The killer now has to manage slug timers, hook rotation, and an increased amount of survivor resources in the form of pallet density.
Just because the game isn't stated as being competitive officially, does not mean players can't, and won't, take it competitively. You may only think it casual, may not include your opponent, be it killer or survivor, who's trying to sweat. Additionally, why does a player 'going hard' equal 'ruining other players experiences?' If it's a casual, party game, than it shouldn't matter one way or another, as they'll just queue up again. Unless you're trying to win, which makes it competitive.
I brought it up because there are always two sides to a matter. In this case, as I stated, going in with a casual mindset, going with the flow type playstyle, will see little changes in the slugging/tunneling aspects (Though I think the increased pallet spawns are going to hurt already balanced maps, turning matches into pallet simulators than anything else). If you're going in to try and secure that W, the steps needed grew with this patch. That does not mean they 'deserve' the win. I only mean that it's not as cut and dry as it was.
Sure, you're going to have a few bad eggs out there that are toxic about it. Yes, you have killers that are out there taking the easier route in tunneling every survivor out of the match (SBMM is about to be put to the test when the patch goes live). But if the average killer is out to win, that win is now more difficult to obtain. -

I played multiple hours of almost playing entire with my brain off and never once occurred the penalty, I was going for the first person I saw, constantly taking bad chases, and never putting pressure on the correct parts of the map. Yet again, never once got the penalties.
You aren't playing to win. And that's the difference here. If you are playing casual, then this change means little. If you're playing with a competitive mindset, then the killer player's checklist just became much longer.

People did last PTB, and BHVR still pushed out one of the worst chapters in this games history.
'This is a PTB' really doesn't hold much water anymore when they ignore most, if not all, feedback.
-
Probably not, especially with the fiasco this chapter has turned out to be.
-
I doubt there will be another TWD chapter, seeing how badly BHVR has fumbled both the release, and this stream.
It's also clear that, unless there's a community backlash, BHVR doesn't really do anything to fix issues that plague the game. These hacking attempts have been know for a long while now, and the devs are unable, or unwilling, to do anything about it.
'Pretty good job so far' moment. -

I have 0 faith in BHVR at this point when it comes to making the game healthy for survivor. They would rather focus on punishing people for not wanting to engage with the bullshit that they let exist, treat every single match as sacrosanct, and nerf add-ons on/arbitrarily change random killers rather than focus on the egregious outliers that have existed forever now.
I think 6.1.0 just ######### everything.
The game is at is healthiest right now for survivor. A number of anti killer gameplay mechanics are in place, a dozen anti tunnel perks, and the ability to swf. There is only so much hand holding you can do with survivors before you throw out the gameplay loop.

Yes, you have the right to quit out and DC. However, what you don't have the right to do is completely ruin the match for other players. THAT is why the penalty is in place. It's a deterrent which starts small and builds up. A starting 30 second penalty is nothing.
Why does it ruin the match? Survivors still get their rewards for the time invested. If they really want out of a match, they give up on first hook. Killers cannot do that.
Personally, seeing as survivors can just exit on hook, killers should be able to open the gates when they want and force EGC if they aren't feeling the match. -
Since survivors can just give up on first hook, killers should be able to open the gate at any time. Make it so that endgame perks like Blood Warden don't activate if that happens.

Honestly we'd think there should be a random rotation. Would be lovely chaos.
Good idea, but I'd wait until we have more killers tested out. See what works and doesn't before going into a standard rotation.

You’re probably not going to like this comment, but I’ve been on these forums for about two years now and it’s always been pretty consistently killer sided which I think is what can cause a bit of animosity on sides sadly.
You can say I’m feeding into the ‘us vs them ‘ mentality if you want, that’s fine, but it’s just an observation.
Generally, when one side feels like things are against them, they're more vocal about it.
-
Probably, since BHVR can't seem to get rid of the issue. Launching the game on Epic was a really, really bad idea in the long run.
-
I was escaping left and right until I needed it for my current challenge, then we get stomped at seven gens. I seriously think there's a cursed component the devs placed on this challenge.

Agreed. The queue times for Killer mean that there are not enough Survivors playing. So there need to be changes to a gamemode like 2v8. (Personally, I would be happy if it does not come back, since what I said before exactly happened…).
It is kinda funny, the 400% BP-Incentive are not enough to draw enough Survivors to play 2v8 to make queue times for Killers fast in this mode, but they are enough of an incentive to remove Survivors from 1v4 to also make queue times longer there.
And I think despite the positive feedback, this is something that highly speaks against the gamemode. BHVR always wanted to avoid splitting their playerbase, now they are doing it and it results in long queue times for Killers in both modes.
Lets not forget that general… shall we say, unwillingness of survivors to make the mode more enjoyable by holding M1.
-
Hard work is always rewarded with more hard work.
-
So, if they can hide ranks in pre game, show in post game, why can't they show us in post game who was SWF? Sounds like it's a very simple toggle, right?
-
Probably because I've done my survivor challenges, and now I need my killer challenges. I'll wait the 15 minutes.
-
I keep seeing these posts about the mode being too survivor sided and here I am, wondering why I'm the only one that can do a gen. Last few matches we've gotten maybe three done.
-
While I agree with the sentiment, they can't do anything until Microsoft/Sony give the go ahead for the patch. Can't patch it only for PC.
-
Nemi gets zombies
Xeno gets direct counterplay that nullifies her power.
For me, it's the turrets that just kill her for me. Her chase power is already underwhelming as it is, and to lose it every few seconds when you exit a tunnel or nearby loop? It's bad design. -
I understand why. What I want, though, is the post game lobby to show who is a SWF.
-
I haven't been kicked yet, but my connection has been pretty shoddy.

So the only way that killers can kill anyone is by ignoring the one thing survivors have to survive (Pallets)? Do you even play survivor?
I'm not sure I see your point. The game loop is all about the chase. Do you prefer ranged, stealth, or gimped killers?

Cause its super fun if you get hit wirh 3 pains and some pops while your team is in chases and you try to do a single gen for 4 minutes.
Then isn't that a problem with your team, not the perk? To get anything out of the perks, the killer has to put the work in to be rewarded with their usage, and one can only be used once per survivor.
-
@Chaosrider said:
Nobody said anything about a meta shake-up. The meta perks are just a bit less annoying to play against.
Why are Pop/Pain Res annoying? I don't use the other two, so I can't say, but both of the former require hooks, and one can only be used four times.
-
@vBlossom_ said:
hardly anyone complains about Deadlock
That's false, this perk gives value for nothing and incentivises camping / tunneling.
Both of which are going to increase now that popular gen defense perks are getting nerfed and saboing becomes easier.
-
So, I'm curious. This patch brought a lot of issues with it that we all see. How did these problems slip by the devs, who were supposed to playtest? I get it if an issue or two affected certain pieces of hardware, but we're all showing a plethora of different systems, yet with the same problems.
I reinstalled to try out the Unknown, but with the rubberbanding every few seconds, it's more frustration than fun. I'll just wait three months for them to patch it out, maybe. -
I'm okay with the stun part. I'm not okay with BHVR coming out and saying it was a bug that it didn't happen. It's one of two things. Either a dev made a knee jerk decision to nerf Plague here and label it as a bug, or the devs really don't play their game enough to notice these things. I mean, FIVE YEARS?! And they just get around to patching 'a bug?'
-
Personally, I want a giant spider. What screams 'horror' and 'killer' more than a spider? But this time, a BIG spider? Let it crawl on walls/ceiling as its power, and bam, you win.
-
@Yharwick said:
I think Xeno is better personally, better mobility and map info with a power you can't really loop against.
Unknown is very good but it's difficult to get your hallucinations where you want them and it's still a killer you have to hit with 3 times.
People are gonna say turrets hold Xeno back like every Xeno isn't running E-Helmet, Star Chart or both and ike half of solos don't ignore the turrets completely.
I think Xeno is better than Unknown, but ONLY in the start/mid game. By late game, Unknown passes her up. Survivors will have set turrets to hamper Xeno at that point, while Unknown will have a good amount of map pressure with his instant teleports and range.

U do realize that win rate for 4 man SWF IS LEGIT 3.% DIFFRENT FROM SOLO AND DUO RIGHT
Take that with a grain of salt. That graph doesn't give nearly enough info to say what factors are included there.
As to OP, I understand why premades aren't shown in match lobby, but I'd like to see it in the post match lobby. I want to know if I was stomped by a sweaty premade, or really good solo players.
-
Boring. The art team did a fantastic job at his promo, but the development team did a 180. Seriously, why make him into a mashup of other killers? Why not finally go down the rabbit hole and make a killer that can blend with survivors? Do something new here.
-
Stop tunneling my gens, please.
Though, if your team is crouching the first steps of a match, I'd assume low MMR, with new players?
-
Hit or miss. Some matches I dominate, other matches the survivors disappear around every turn. It's fun for the most part, though.
-
You took time to find their stream and come off as sarcastic, even if that wasn't their intent. Killer is inherently a more difficult role to fill, and when they're given a map for a killer that makes it even more challenging, especially if they aren't as skilled, then the last thing they want to hear is a 'gg.'
-
I'm enjoying Dredge the most. Chucky is pretty fun. I really, really wish Xeno could shine in this mode, but the turrets just nerf her hard.

What do you mean? you want people to stop... doing gens? it's like worst than asking to nerf distortion, you want to win and do 0 effort? That cause another problem, no one will get points.
I was being flippant. To me, tunneling is the same on both sides. You try and aim for the best outcome that'll get you a win, or near a win. Be it tunneling a survivor out of a match, or hammering out a gen. Either way, focusing an objective to secure a win.
-
It's tidy, but no. Instead of two button presses, now I have three. That's a lot of work.
-
If I just don't feel like facing the setup before me, knowing it'll either be A) More stressful than fun B) I know the players and/or C) a TTV.
-
Stop tunneling gens and we'll see.
-
The more you restrict gameplay elements, the sweatier it's going to make players. Eventually, all matches are going to be the same gameplay loop. I mean, we've been seeing that for a long time now, with only three or four killers being chosen time and time again, and the same builds being used.

Being able to down someone immediately after they've been unhooked if the unhooker didn't have a certain perk was bad game design. If survivors are required to bring a certain perk every single match or else they're a detriment to their whole team, that's bonkers. No other player base for any other game would've waited and dealt with this type of game design if it wasn't for how loyal DbD's playerbase is. Basekit BT wasn't even a "balance change" it was a necessity.
If they were downed immediately after unhook, why is that the killers fault? Player agency is a thing, as well as responsibility. It's on the survivors to know when and how to unhook.
Personally, it feels like BHVR is doing more and more handholding on the survivors part. The tools killers are given are becoming increasingly hampered. Not entirely the survivor playerbase's fault, I rest a good chunk at the devs feet. SoloQ can only go so far, and they simply refuse to make any progress on bridging the gap with SWF.
-
I've had matches where survivors will slam out gens, then wait out the EGC timer. Wasting time is this games hobby.
-
@GensByDaylight said:
I haven't seen anyone complain about new Pop, but I don't understand why.
It instantly deletes 30% of the kicked generators current progress. This effect can realisticly happen up to 8 times in a game, and if the gen is over 40%, an instant 15% of the generator is deleted. Its like old Pain res but doesn't need a scourge hook and deals more damage if the generator has more progress. It feels like the strongest killer perk atm.
I've had multiple killers who have gotten extra kills or massive slowdown just due to the ridoculous regression it applies, how is it balanced?
How is it not balanced? Old pop was balanced, and they still nerfed it.

I don't think anyone wants those things removed from the game completely. I think people just want ways to counter the most agregious cases.
So you nerf an entire playstyle around a few bad games? Or survivors playing poorly? That would be like adding a sixth gen because of a few matches where survivors blitz gens in under five minutes.
