Lmao I literally played against a streamer who camped the hook and started eating because he can just stay there and camp the hook as bubba...

Yes solo is worse than before because survivor in general got weaker. Yes solo is worse than SWF, this was never in question.
But what about this patch is specifically worse for solo and not all survivors? What is true now, that was not true before for solo being a worse role?
Its not like solos didn't hide and were super coordinated before. So that's not valid.
SWF doesn't take away a gen, they both have 50 total seconds added on.
Its not like solos didn't hide and were super coordinated before. So that's not valid.
it is because it is something that didnt affect SFW squads because their coordination makes those 50 seconds safe and solos are exposed for additional 50+ seconds.

Ok but you're just describing solo que. This was true before.
In you're "son" example, he was already younger. When he was 9, the other was 29. Now they're a year older and got 200 to lift. Its not the 10 yr old got 400 pounds while the 30 got 200. This example also doesn't translate well because the 10 yr old physically cant lift it, while both Solo and SWF can hold M1.
Yes but it is worse now becasue not only solo survivors are wasting time hiding, 90 + 20 + additional time added on the generator, something that again doesnt affect SWF because they know when the killer is coming so those 90 seconds affect more solo than SWF.
Thats because the example was for you to understand that ''giving the same weight'' to different people is not the same, solo queue and SWF are extremely different, giving ''the same nerfs/buffs'' to both can have different reactions because they are different. it was never about M1, we can all hold m1. Also is not 10 seconds is 50 seconds, 10 seconds per gen, so solos are gonna struggle more with more time added to the timer.
It's always team work, if I tell you to hold a 200 pound bag by yourself for 3 hours how would your arms feel? what if I put 5 guys to hold that bag for those 3 hours? not as bad as the guy doing it solo. it's not rocket science, it's just logical that a team with more advantages than the other one will be less affected by a nerf than a one that's obviously weaker.

But solo was already weaker.
I don't see how adding 10 seconds to holding M1 changes between solo and SWF. Both have to hold M1 for 10 more seconds. Being uncoordinated doesn't change anything in that regard as far as I see. If they spent 30 seconds running around before they'll do the same now.
But solo was already weaker. yes so you can tell that putting the same ''weight'' on your weaker son is even gonna make it harder for him.
''I don't see how adding 10 seconds to holding M1 changes between solo and SWF. Both have to hold M1 for 10 more seconds''
Communication and coordination, communication makes it so that a survivor (playing with friends) doing a gen knows exactly where the killer is at all times, a SWF squad can have 3 guys doing gens and be perfectly safe because they know where the killer is always, a solo team who is not communicating will be more exposed to the killer suddenly coming in and downing a survivor that's on a gen, solo survivors who don't know where the killer is tend to hide and waste time, something that SWF squads can completely ignore (so if a gen takes 90 seconds to complete for a solo survivor who wastes time hiding will take longer, a SWF squad doesnt have to hide because they know the killers position, so imagine that a solo survivor hides for 20 seconds, he would need 90 seconds to complete the generator + 20 = 110 seconds spent on a generator, remember that time is the resource survivors have to manage, every additional second a killer has, it's time he can use to chase and kill other survivors, making it harder for the remaining survivors to complete the gens, a SFW squad doesnt have to hide, they can complete the generator in flat 90 seconds because they know where the killer is, they don't waste time hidding thus be extremely effective repairing generators, and avoid being downed because they can tell the killer is coming) since they know where the killer is at all times, another example is that SWF can coordinate better to manipulate gen speeds, gen spread and unhooking, solo survivors don't have that advantage either.
Information is everything not just in this game but all games, why do you think there's cheats that allow you to see where other players are on PUBG that are banned? knowing where a player is at all times provides you a massive advantage on PUBG or here in dead by daylight or in any other game.
-
Because SWF squads strength lies in the fact that they are communicated and coordinated, and solos are not, increasing gen speed is way more detrimental for a team that is not coordinated over one that is. SWF squads strenght was never perks or gen speeds, gens could be slowed down an additional 10 seconds and they could still make it work because perks or gen speeds were never their strength, it was communication and coordination that made them strong, something that solo survivors don't have.
Giving everyone the same ''weight'' hits different, tell your 2 sons to carry a 200 pund bag, ITS THE SAME WEIGHT FOR BOTH! but now take into concideration that one of your sons is 30 and the other one 10 and you will see that the ''same weight'' argument is not valid on people who are obviously different, solo queue and SWF squads are different and unfortunately solo queue is the little brother here and gets hit harder with nerfs due to it's nature of having uncoordinated survivors, SWF squads could be nerfed even more and they can take it, solo queue can't.

Uh… yeah. I’m just sharing my opinion. But I guess I can only do that if my opinion matches yours.
And doesn’t this apply to most of the posts saying they aren’t happy? They could be lying, so I guess they need to upload a stream of them playing perfectly but still getting killed at 5 gens 6 games in a row.
I’m not going to prove to you that I’m having fun. If you don’t believe me, that’s fine, you don’t have to.
If you’re not having fun, ok then. Me having fun doesn’t make your experience any less true or valid.
You started your post by diluting other peoples opinions with, ''So many posts on here saying that “survivor is dead”, “every game is 4K at 5 gens while the killer is blindfolded” and so on. Yet for me, I’m still escaping most of my games'' which is obviously trivial because the game is about escaping as a team yet an attempt to dilute other peoples opinions as to how the game is really doing right now and we can tell is doing bad, and I'm not the first here to tell you...

Uh… how about no? I’m just sharing my experience. If you have disagree, then good for you. I’m not trying to prove anything to anyone, just sharing that I’m having fun still. I’m not saying that everyone else’s opinions aren’t valid.
If you seriously think someone having fun needs to prove it to you then I think you need to take a break.
So your post has nothing to add then, basically you can lose 100% of your matches but you can always claim it was ''fun'' for you then all is ''good'' so nothing of substance here smh...
-
Im calling low MMR on this one, no actual good killer gets beat by stealth.....bottom of the barrel MMR matches here.
-
All I see here is just words, show a stream of you playing survivor and winning most of your solo queue matches, many people here can escape a lot, I can do it at least 70% of my matches, escaping solo is not ''winning'' playing for you to solo escape is not playing as a team and this is a team game, for you to actually declare a win on a game we will require you to actually win by showing 3 survivors escaping every match, 2 killed is a draw and a solo escape is a lost game, I wanna see you on a win streak, show us you win at least 6 out of 10 games (counting Dc's and AFK.....yes because that is part of our daily lives too) and I don't want excuses, it's 2022 pretty sure you have a way to stream it.
Even veteran youtube survivor mains with 8k hours+ have seen their win rates drop by a lot so much that some of them are just uploading videos of games were they just lose but have nothing else to show (even after a 2 hour stream, they have nothing to show because they lose most of their matches) but I'm pretty sure you have twice as much experience so you can do it...

Is getting a bad ratio what you're going for when you post something like this on survivor threads?! If so, good job. It's good evidence that you're a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Don't even bother with him, judging by his snarky comments he gets stomped on by everyone and always resorts to ''you guys are ''mob'' as a defense, the whole world can tell him he is dead wrong on something and he'll just say ''you guys have mob mentality'' these type of losers think of themselves as better than everyone else when in fact people who act this way are below average but just have an inflated ego.
-
@ausanimal said:
You can't really blame the killer for what happened you need to blame the two teammates that screwed you and the other survivor over and not just you two but the killer to, yes the killer could off played nice and let you both go for getting screwed over but killers shouldn't be forced to do that or feel like they have to. Letting players quit in a unfair game is not the way to go because people will quit over the smallest things, the best thing the devs could try is have AI take over a dc body and can do basic things like repair gens but it's not a easy task to find a way to fix these problems without screwing over the people that stayed in the match.
The mobile version has bots already (at least they can do gens while you loop instead of just having 1 person DC and never coming back) and other ''DBD look alike'' mobile games already have some of the many suggestions to balance solo queue like messages, at this point we can all assume the devs simply don't want to or are unwilling to take community feedback or are just too lazy to do something about it.
-
The problem with solo queue is not only that players are bad but lack of communication makes it impossible to do anything, you are matching 4 strangers and asking them to play as a team and perform a task that requires team play without the tools to be a team, basically 4 randoms that are that are blind, deaf and mute. seriously just a set of message pings would be good for solo queue but devs just want to ignore community feedback.
-
Depends on your definition of ''win'' I can escape 80% of my matches by myself, but it's a team game....a win for killer is counted as 3 kills and a win for survivors if 3 escaped, The way I have seen solo queue survivors (even 8k hour veterans streaming on twitch) they have been losing their games with them only getting a draw or just a solo escape...
-
Nurse, Blight, Bubba.
-
All I see on the forums today are killer players laughing and saying: ''I can easily 4k every match using wraith and playing with one hand'' maybe SWF squads are fine but this was a nerf that impacted solo queue the hardest...
-
Not the type of games you asked for but:
Identity V, basically another ''DBD'' but for mobile.
Eternal return, a ''League of legends'' type of game, you can play it solo or with a team, what makes it a little bit different is that you play for survival (vs 18 other players) rather than defending a base like League.
-
Identity V is another ''DBD'' type of game for mobile so....that I guess?
-
Solo queue is already trash, I agree that the biggest problem here are inexperienced players (survivors) who don't know what to do, don't do gens, they don't unhook, and don't know how to loop, some matches are over even before all gens are completed (now imagine with generators taking an additional 50 seconds) with the killer getting a 4k, and the answer was to make it harder for them. Not only gen progression was increased by 50 seconds (most solo queue teams were already dead before all gens were completed, now it's even gonna be harder with this) but they also indirectly buffed tunneling and camping due to generator speed being increased, they did nothing to compensate for this like increasing hook time or anything.
I get your ''it's a teammates issue'' argument but if the problem was that solo survivors were struggling...why is behaviours answer to make it harder for them? SWF squads are not gonna be affected much by this patch as their strength lies in the fact that they are coordinated so they are mostly nerfing solo queue. The problem here is that devs don't make a division between solo queue and SWF squads, it is true that a SWF squad can completely demolish any killer, making it unfair for them but solo queue did not need this, I feel bad for solo survivors who don't have a team to play with because most people I know have decided to never play solo again, some of us are grouping up to always play as a 4 man SWF squad and decided to simply stop playing solo to compensate for this patch. The only thing they achieved here is that they made solo queue even more unappealing to play than before.
-
I posted a similar topic like a year ago, leaving the ''TTV'' problem out of this, some killers tunnel me because I have ''furry'' in my name, some of them leave hateful messages in the end game chat, some of my LGBT friends that have ''any sign'' on their name that contains something that may remotely indicate that they are LGBT and killers will tunnel/camp them, there is no reason for other players to be able to see our names during the lobby screen.

Rushing the killer doesn't mean you're a bully squad. Rushing the killer was all survivors did to me in the Last PTB and i loved it. The Endurance Meta would actually make the game fun. People would spend more time engaging with the killer instead of securing whatever measely points they can and just dip out or troll the killer at exit gates.
IF finely tuned the Endurance Meta would be the best time for killers in DbD history. All we needed really was the Styptic nerf. DH was made avoidable, so without DH you won't have an endurance procc to help secure protection hits for MoM. Occasional slugging counters OTR and MoM cause slugs don't count for protection hits.
SO if you ask me, people are just dumb and focused on the wrong things. OTR for 80 seconds was too much, reducing it to 30 seconds would be enough of a time waste if killer decided to tunnel and wait out the endurance effect, but you can avoid OTR all together, with every killer, you don't need Pyramid Heads Cages to avoid OTR for example.
Plus because of the ratio of 4 to 1 it's much more likely to face "bad" survivors and as such the chances they'd pull off 5,6,7, 9067346583748 hits to down are drastically low.
I'd much rather have all my matches be like they were in the PTB than what they are in live build...
Yes everyones wrong but you, you are a complete unit of an intellectual, it seems like you are just butthurt because you get rushed and don't like it, I smell low mmr entitled killer here who wants survivors to do as you want all the times....

I know! khora prime is coming out, I started playing a little bit before she was released, I might come back just to farm her prime version, play a little bit to remember old times, I think they already added a lot of content since then so maybe it will be entertaining, too bad I gifted most of my prime mods before I left but regular content should be good for casual play still...

The only challenge that bothers me as survivor is cleanse 20 totems, reducing it to 15 or 10 would be nice, I'm not even gonna try to talk about killer challenges, for me killer challenges are death!

Well...if you are burned out it's normal, I uninstalled warframe at 4k hours, haven't played in 2 years, playing the game too much for too long can be boring, find something new and have fun. Other streamers who tried the Afk 30 second challenge got much more robust survivors. Otz had noobs in at least 7 of his games that threw the game very hard. He also forgot to AFK two of the games and didn't bother to replay them. In one of those games he moved on top of a gen being worked on and then went AFK. In another game he was chasing a survivor who was in a corner and then went AFK. That survivor basically didn't have 30 seconds of AFK time - throwing the experiment.
He completed an artist 50 kill streak by getting the last ~20 games during a day when the MMR was turned off. That's not very honest if you ask me.
Gen speeds are only going to get better if you are not using gen defense perks. The only way you can pull that off is by playing Nurse/Blight with very strong addons and other meta perks to speed up chases (starstruck for nurse) or delay the end game with perks like Remember me/No way out.
"That video just proves that gen speeds are trivial"
I think you missed the point. What is the point in trying to defend generators if you lose 4/5 in 2:22? That's just stupid. The video shows the survivor objective is way too fast. If the other three survivors had just left it would have been an easy escape.
If it was just accepted that three survivors would leave the fourth to die then escape rates would soar to new heights.
MMR being turned off is pure fan speculation, behaviour has never stated that mmr is turned on or off at any times.
''I think you missed the point. What is the point in trying to defend generators if you lose 4/5 in 2:22? That's just stupid''
Actually that's the point, the video just shows what happens when you don't patrol generators, you get rushed. He never defended generators in the first place, he proxy camped the first hooked survivor (he only briefly chased another survivor that was on a nearby structure and then returned to the hook) allowing the other survivors to do the remaining gens without being interrupted, had he chased survivors from gens they wouldn't have been that fast.
Also they had prove thyself (probably a SWF squad, you will rarely see that level of coordination and effectiveness on a solo queue match, by the looks of it other survivors didnt even bother going to rescue the hooked survivor until the end when gens were already completed, that tells us that they were on comms and knew that the hooked survivor was being camped thus they didnt bother to go save him and decided to focus on gens first) basically if he had spent more time looking for the 2 survivors who were doing gens instead of just camping his first hook the game would have been different, plus no gen defense perks, truetalent is not a good reference to make your point, he's not that good at killer, ironically I have seen him play as survivor and he is better at survivor than killer LOL.
-
Because it is extremely situational and slow, 80% of the times the killer will pick you up immediately after downing you (giving you no time to charge the wiggle bar) unless you are right next to a pallet or there is someone with a flashlight nearby, even after that you have to stay on the floor until you can complete your wiggle bar to get a somewhat ''decent mileage out of the perk'' since it only gives you a max of 50% progression, and even after you fully complete your recovery bar most of the times there will be a hook right near you, the killer will still have enough time to hook you anyway, so not only the killer has to give you a chance to charge it...even if you completely charge it there is a chance that you may still get hooked, compared to the fact that you could have equipped another perk that will guarantee you some use out of it (like sprint burst) then there is almost no reason to equip this perk over another one.
-
@BubbleBuster said:
Better Idea:
once everyone is slugged in a match and nobody has been picked up (by themselves or from others) for some time AND the killer has not picked anyone up to try and hook them. The bleed out timer accelerates, killing everyone within seconds.
No more pointless slugging but you are not just getting a free unbreakable.
You could even make it so that only the survivor with the most bleed out timer left does not get affected by this, so they can find the hatch. If the killer closes it, their aura gets revealed if they didnt pick themselves up with something (Adrenaline, Unbreakable) so the killer can hook them. If they don't want to hook them they also get an accelerated bleed out timer.
That way the killer's hard work/your mistakes arent rewarded by giving you a free unbreakable and you don't have to subject yourself to needless time waste.
I would be happy just with the idea of being able to quit without a pennalty ban for leaving, I am the last survivor, killer downs me, goes AFK or stands there waiting for the full timer to expire, I don't even know why the option is not there already, if you are the last survivor and you are bleeding with no option to pick yourself up (no perks that allow you to do so) then why wouldnt you be allowed to just quit without a pennalty ban?
-
I think behaviour will never want to put themselves in a position were some players may get offended because lucifer is a character that's a part of a major religion that's still very popular today, that's why smite despite being a game about gods will never use a character like jesus or lucifer, not even if it's just ''by name''..
-
That video just proves that gen speeds are trivial, you can do 5 gens in 3 minutes and the killer can still end up killing the entire team basically meaning that the killer still won the match, not only that but the player also makes a difference, OTZ is a good example, not only he has 50 win streak videos with ''X'' killer with a lot of those matches ending before all the gens are done, he also has the ''going AFK for 30 seconds at the start of the match challenge'' and he still goes on winning streaks despite the fact that that he puts himself at a massive disadvantage.
-
My reason to ''rush'' gens is because you never know how aggressive the killer is gonna be, you never know if he is the type of killer (like a nurse) who is gonna slug the entire team in seconds (basically depriving you of all bloodpoints) or not. Usually when I play with my team we secure the objective (all gens, and if the match was not long enough) we stay in the match just looping the killer/opening chests/doing totems and stuff like that to secure more blood points.
Basically you always secure your escape first to make sure you all gonna get 5k+ for surviving and then you farm for BP, if you do it the other way around and start slow you can get stomped by the killer, get all killed and earn even less points than the ones you would have earned if you escaped.
-
Pretty sure they have all those statistics but they probably think it's not really necessary to give us all the details, I mean they have released other statistics (that we didn't know they had in the past) like most used set of perks, most used killers and survivors, how many people play solo vs how many people play with a full team, pretty sure they have all those statistics (and maybe they use them somehow) but they just think it's pointless to reveal everything to the average player....
-
The game is already a nightmare when playing solo, dead on fist hook because you get camped and randoms don't want to hook trade with you, all team dead before we even complete all the gens, now with increased gen repair time and buffed killers it's gonna be hell, maybe I won't stop playing completely but it kinda discourages me from playing solo games and only makes me want to play when my team is online (which basically translates to less time playing the game) no more solo matches with randoms for me...
It's ironic because killer players complain SWF are a big issue and now they have made it so that most players will not want to play solo and will always want to play with a full squad, so SWF groups are gonna be more prevalent now. They managed to create a lose - lose situation for both parties, less people playing solo survivor means longer queue times for those few survivors who are still willing to play solo and more SWF squads means less killers willing to play since a lot of killers dodge the match if they suspect they are going to play against a SWF squad, basically increasing queue times for both survivors and killers.
-
Must be your Pc, My game has crashed like 2 times since I installed and I have been playing for 2 years now.
-
Best thing you can do is loop them as good as you can or at least that's always been my way of thinking. A good killer who knows how to detect a good looper will leave because they know a good survivor who knows how to loop can loop them for the entire match and a bad killer will stay on you...loop them well and it will cost them all 5 gens, even if you die the rest of the team gets out and the killer doesn't get the last laugh. When I get camped I stay on the hook until the last second to give my teammates time to finish the remaining gens, hopefully they have enough time to finish them...
-
The ''META'' exists for a reason, BT is popular and meta because most killers camp, DS is popular because a lot of killers tunnel, what decides if a perk will be used or not is mostly based on the killers behavior, there was a time when toolboxes were more used than med kits and flaslights, why? because killers could mori you on first hook and having a med kit or flaslight with you at that time would not save you from a mori so the popular and META strategy back then was to rush generators hoping you will make it before the killer could camp the first hooked survivor hoping for someone else to unhook to mori the unhooked survivor early in the game (sometimes a survivor would get killed before the first generator was powered leaving you with a scenario were 3 survivors had to power up 5 generators) one good looper was the diference between 3 survivors having to power up 5 gens (because 1 survivor was morie'd early in the game) or just having to power up 1 or 2 before the first survivor was killed leaving you at an extreme disadvantage
I don't see that killers behavior has changed...we still see killers tunneling and camping so I don't think the meta will change, the only thing that has changed now is that we are gonna use off the record to make sure we don't get tunneled (instead of decisive strike) so the only thing it changed was the name of the perk LOL.
-
Ironically I feel like one of the main reasons why dead hard is so popular is because of how many nurses/blights you find in solo queue, I never equipped the perk when I was relatively new to the game...when my games used to have different killers in them (my games used to be something like: clown - demogorgon - myers - bubba - freddy, maybe a random nurse or blight every now and then) but after a while my games started looking like: nurse - blight - nurse - nurse - blight - nurse - nurse, so I equipped the perk and never stopped using it since then.
-
Sorry but not happening, these type of suggestions have been made since the game released and the devs have said they don't have plans to implement them, especially perk loadouts...people disconnected a lot during the lobby screen when we were able to see other players ranks, many will automatically disconnect when they see a survivor using a perk they don't like, auto disconnect when they see someone using self care for example since a lot of players hate that perk.
-
SWF will never be removed or the game dies, most people play the game precisely because they want to play with friends, I personally never play unless I play with a friend, if they remove SWF we would probably never play again, we would just migrate to another game that allows us to play together...
-

And this is why the nurse needs a complete rework. Bhvr needs to make her power appealing to new and old players and balance her killing statistics. Her teleportation needs to go. She’s outdated game design and she makes people give up immediately. I see it every day in my solo q matches.
And I understand the people giving up against her because she IS overpowered.
When she came out she had like 5 blinks and back then killer mains said she was completely balanced and if you complained they would say: ''you bad, git gud'' that's why I never listen to killer mains about what's balanced and what's not...

I did say it's a legitimate strategy, and that to fix the unlegitimate usages of it, a strict ruling to it could be in place. I know it's not new information but I still feel like the way I suggested it would work and allow for camping when it's necessary and completely prevent it when it's undercutting gameplay.
Again, devs already said it's not an actual problem so it wont be changed, these type of posts have existed since the game launched, at this point people just need to stop posting the same stuff...

It's almost like 99% of Nurse's aren't godlike poggers youtube Nurse's that slug the entire team in 2 minutes, and you can still be really really good with her and not play a full on Starstruck/Agi slug and win in 2 minutes build. If you wouldn't even consider a Nurse who plays fair and doesn't tunnel/camp, gets everyone to death hook, while not knowing the map, their addons, their perks, or the survivors, you're quite frankly someone whos opinion means next to nothing
On the other hand your opinion is extremely valuable, random guy on the forums LOL
-
equip starstruck, there you go....
-
play something else?
-
The dbd community is mostly made up of grown a** people, I would think it's because most of us are at work during the day and mostly play at night when we get home, and I don't think a lot of people wanna wake up early during a weekend (the only few days a month that we get to wake up late) just to play a game lol.
-
Ok then, stop playing now and we'll see you you in...6 months? come back to tell us how it went.
-
Wall of text! short answer is: there will never be a solution because devs don't see camping as a problem, they see it as a legitimate strategy that's completely fair so it will probably never be changed (people have posted ''possible solutions'' including ''pause the hook timer if the killer is nearby'' multiple times since the game launched and it's still here and will probably stay forever)
-
It's always like that for both sides, as survivor I was matched against a 5k ghost face and a 3k hour nurse when I barely had 100 hours of gameplay.
-
I've seen so many nurse videos on youtube of godlike nurse players that slug the entire team in less than 2 minutes that if I think of a nurse that got beat the way you described then I wouldn't think of her as a good nurse player.

It goes both ways, killers are forced to only play meta killers with meta load outs to counter meta survivor builds.
It's not because of us, it's because of them... and again, it's not because of them it's because of us.
THAT'S WHY WE ARE ALL WAITING FOR THE PERK OVERHAUL, GAME CHANGES HELL YEAH!
I would be glad to take my tryhard meta perk loadout off and try new perks if I knew who the killer was, No reason for me to tryhard against someone like demo or sadako for example, The problem comes when you take them off and then you are faced against 3-4 nurses in a row, then blights, It would take some tweaks to some perks to avoid active countering of the killer but that's just like 5 to 10 perks that need tweaks at most, I would give it a try but the problem with the devs is that they would rather keep us completely blind about everything rather than allowing us to experiment with the game. They could also experiment with a ''ban'' system allowing the killer to ban some perks and survivors to ban some perks as well IDK they can try a lot of things but they just don't want to...
