Quick question about DC bans

So was watching a friend play today while we were hanging out catching up and he was about to play then a quick switch to claudettes with 3 toolboxes and a key happened he dcs logs back in to the game all set for the next match and he got hit with a DC ban...I thought if the match doesn't start you don't get the penalty? He was like I guess they don't want another killer and we played some borderlandsšŸ¤£ worked out better for me

    If he DC'd then he gets the ban. From what your saying he intentionally DC'd because he didn't like the match. It's not meant for the kind of situation your describing.

    It sounds like the match had started. If he didn't want to go against the 3 Claudettes and the Key he should have Back button before the final 5 second countdown ended to start the match.

    He couldn't though it was a last minute switch and then the game went to the loading screen and yeah it was intentional he didn't want to deal with the key I guess

    what you are thinking is if there is a network disconnect during MATCH LOAD you will not get a ban, but once the game starts it is there if you intentionally dc or even a network dc.


    thing is if he can't take a loss then why is he playing? sure it might be a bad game but it's problematic when people just quit because they think they will not get a fun game. some games are not fun at all, some are great fun, if you pick and choose who knows what you'll miss out on!

    I asked him he says if they can last minute switch y cant I switch my perks around...assume he was going to use Franklin's which he has a fair point but in all cases I think he just wanted to play a coop couch game since his bros were playing left 4 dead 2 on the other tvšŸ¤£

    Oh I get it, i think the devs are wrong not letting killers swap killers yet letting survivors pick and choose amongs any number of set up skill sets. Again if he had left the lobby when that happened there would have been no penalty, but since he dc'd in the match itself there was as he broke the rules of the game. he could have just run around doing nothing while letting them finish the gens quickly and get out, maybe get a hook or two and let it go then less time would have been taken up AS WELL as he wouldn't have a penalty and chance corrupting his game. oh yea and he'd have some points for the match instead of loosing it all.
