But then who would Fat Bast- I mean the Clown come with?

Put him with someone everyone hates... Someone that definitely should be a DLC so noone would buy him...

(Can you see where this is going yet?)

Yes. I have it! Kate with Leatherface, and Jake removed from the base game and put with fatty bombatty.

  • @Peasant

More than happy to support the game, but I don't want to give the devs the idea that I like that particular sack of potatoes...

...Maybe if he came with Kate.

  • LOL @Peasant

But buying Leatherface is what they want us to do! Musn't give in!

Sorry I let everyone down, all the salt over the healing nerf brought us down.

You've let me down, you've let yourself down but, most importantly, you've let me down.

  • Glad it's not just me then. I like this game, not enough to buy a PS4 Pro for though. :)

  • Pretty sure the RNG has been replaced with "day of week".

Today it's all MacMillan. Yesterday was all cornfields. Day before was all wrecking yards. Devs just want you to waste your offering slot with a map choice.

  • Yeah, I don't think the window-lickers on PS4 are going to go for this. As nice as it sounds.

With the upcoming change to hook-camping penalty to chaser emblems, Insidious perk will have no practical use unless you don't care about ranking up.

You can always camp that hatch. They haven't taken that away from you... yet.

  • Survivors be sniffing glue around the campfire again.

  • Sent.

Those were my last good vibes, so better make use of them.

  • @purebalance said:
The survivors are not all from our era.

    ...

Granted they do make cosmetics that have nothing to do with the character like the Japan themed ones.

It's a very interesting thing to note though. I never thought about that - maybe Meg should have Jane Fonda inspired workout gear instead of the CrossFit-styled stuff I was thinking of. Lol.

  • Yeah, but twice as many people had games where player 2 did not disconnect than had games with player 1.

Plus, if you play 400 games in a month, you're potentially going to have more net connection problems and random ######### happen that affect your game than the guy who plays 100.

  • They're plenty afraid now that you can trash their OS with a message. :)

  • I'm mostly well-behaved... but the occasional t-bag slips in now and then. :)

Rarely do it at the exit etc. because I have too much sympathy with the killer. I bet the Freddy I faced the other night was happy I t-bagged him mid-chase... I f*cked up moments later and gave him what was probably his most satisfying kill of the game.

There's generally just no need for it though. The killer is just a regular person like you - and you don't get anything for upsetting him.

  • @George_Soros said:
(Out of curiuosity: how did you manage to hit him TWICE @Snapshot ? With bodyblocking, it just works one time, I mean with the speed burst on hit comes a no collision effect, similar to Dead Hard.)

Maybe got caught on the scenery or didn't realise he'd be able to push through.

I've lost count of the number of times I've gone up to that porch in Haddonfield without the door, only to get trapped by the killer (who blocks me in and then laughs his ass off). Been caught out a few times either getting stuck on the fence once the speed burst hits (and wasting most of it) or being too slow to react.

    I usually give him a spin once I'm downed to indicate I know I f*cked up. :)

  • Is not only fine, is funny as hell.

    Don't worry. :)

I think they're trying to make Meg a super mega ultra tomboy (no makeup allowed!),

Isn't that what we have Nea for? :)

Agreed on the Fog Traveler outfit, that one seems to have actually been designed. I don't wear it, but it's pretty nicely done. A few fitness-oriented outfits with the same level of effort that went into the Fog outfit and recent hair would be nice.

Edit: And agreed on the butt. Why the hell not, afterall.

  • As much as everyone likes to disagree, Meg needs new cosmetics. :) She's been given a lot, but the vast majority are absolutely rubbish when you compare them to what the others survivors got.

It's like the devs have never seen Instagram before - lots of fit girls have cool looking clothes. And when they're not at the gym, they don't all wear boys' tracksuits.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:
If someone does manage to get you off the hook, they tunnel. Even if you have a trap on your head. I don't get why they put the trap on if they are just going to tunnel you anyway.

Well... it depends. If they're specifically running after you and only you, that's probably a bit dumb. If they are finding you, whilst trying to find others / chasing etc., then slugging you again isn't a bad idea.

If you're the only person they can find, they may as well hook you again. Think of it from their side - the trap is unlikely to kill you, they don't know what else to do at that moment, and you're there vulnerable. Hooking you may even stir up survivors who they've lost track of, or drag them off gens to come and save you.

I know it's not always much fun playing against a Pig. But take some solace in that if they're harassing you, they're probably getting a small, albeit cruel, enjoyment in an otherwise unpleasant game. :)

I would love a map that is an island.

Or an island made out of broken ships and boats!

  • @George_Soros said:
I heard players saying "Kappa" but I have no idea what that means. Would you care to explain?

Used to make tracksuits for chavs and other reprobates.

    See also: kappa slappa.

  • Whenever I feel like it. Could be because:

    • A survivor did something unexpected, amusing, or engaged with me in a nice way
    • Goofed so badly that they should have died (see: "amusing" above)
    • Survivor got mugged off by their teammates
    • Feng's little face tugged at my heartstrings
    • D/Cs, but if I don't like you then you could be the only one in the game and I'd still try and kill you.

TBH Unless someone has pissed me off, I'm usually looking to let someone escape and have a bit of fun. You have to convince me NOT to let you go. However, it doesn't happen that often because survivors are almost always horrible blighters.

  • Lots of good ideas here. But this is my favourite:

Why not make it so getting the wrong jigsaw box causes them to go into the injured state, not dying, not dead, and if they're already injured they can't suddenly fall on the floor dying.

Simple, but effective. Forcing them (or a teammate) to heal again is a relatively small thing that will help slow the game down, without being unfair to survivors or requiring any balancing etc. from the devs.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:
The Pig. I loathe the Pig. She seems to attract the worst campers and tunnelers, even when you have a trap on your head.

Awww, did the mean lil' piggy not leave you alone so you could take the trap off in peace?

Just playing, mate. :) Tunnelling and slugging, yes. Camping... I don't think Pigs camp any more than anyone else really. But they probably shouldn't be doing it at all.

  • Can't Vote Up and LOL at the same time.

    But yes to the honk.

  • Can't put my finger on why, but I just can't see a pirate killer fitting with the tone of the game.

However, I still really really really want one.

  • Meh.

Gideon Meat Plant is ok. Not a fan of Lery's, but it's a good place to practice your doorway jukes. Got to find the positives where you can.

  • @DarkWo1f997 said:
    It’s semi-balanced lol.

Heh. About as much as the rest of the game, anyway. ;)

    Awww. Just kidding devs.

  • Great stuff. Thanks fellas.

    Much appreciated.

Jake has the best survivor cosmetics. Change my mind.

Was going to post a picture of Nea... But I couldn't do it, laughing too hard.

  • @Cetren said:
His fate is unknown. He's probably not dead though since death simply returns you to the campfire. He either lost all of his hope and by extension, his soup ceased to exist, or became a killer for the entity.

Probably still in-game, t-bagging the killer and looking for the hatch... after his teammates escaped 100 years ago (or whatever).

  • @MegMain98 said:
People wonder why I have something against Jake players. They play like foreheads.

    This. Lol.

And I don't know why anyone would want to wear that smug, punchable face anyway.

  • Jake.

BUUUUUUT... if you're really going to restrict this to the characters that are listed under the "Killers" menu, then Billy. Too damn fast.

  • The low ranks are full of de-pipped, flashlight bullies anyway. They'll be fine. :)

    It's the mid-ranks that stink.

  • Now on PS4. Yup.

  • #CampThatJake

    ;)

  • @DeadByFlashlight
See, I knew there was a reason I started coming here. I learn way more here than I do actually playing the game. :)

    Cheers mate.

  • Wait... what... you want more Jakes????

And here's me trying to eliminate the little hook-farming shite from the game. ;)

Dwight was a royal nobody and treated like one by his coworkers but how is he treated in the Entity's Realm by his new fellow survivors?

    We hate you.

  • Is there day and night around the campfire? i.e. Do the survivors have any idea how long they've been trapped in the entity's realm?

  • @Visionmaker said:
Game's more fun when you're throwing pebbles at each other.

Wish pebble was a regular cooldown perk so I could actually do fun stuff like that.

I sometimes, mostly for dailies, play an L1 Adam and am always looking forward to throwing that pebble. Never happens.

  • @DeadByFlashlight said:
Even if I ignore my team completley, I always manage to pip just doing gens. Even if I manage to avoid looping, I still pip by escaping+gens

Maybe it's just a perception thing? I agree it can be done (although I'll admit I'm surprised it's not as hard as I thought, since I did it myself this morning), but most people I know of keep saying that you'll need a gen and a rescue or two to pip as a survivor. If that's what people think, it may still explain the hook rushing behaviour.

Or I could be completely wrong, and they do it for other reasons. :)

  • @DeadByFlashlight said:
BBQ was supposed to be an "anti camp" perk, but what it actually does is that it exposes hook swarming survivors such that you dont leave teh area.

I blame the pipping. You can do all the gens, but if you don't save someone from the hook then it's hard to get those pips. Bad for everyone - especially the poor sap who gets unhooked in front of the killer by Jake.

So even when the killer is camping, even when you signal that the killer is camping, and even when there are gens still to do, everyone runs to the damn hook.

  • Was going to say Julie and Curt from Return of the Living Dead 3. Not sure about the map though - maybe they could play fast and loose and use the factory from the first film instead. I guess there's the military base, which may be ok.

Thinking speed buffs etc. when she actually eats part of someone. But haven't really put much more thought into than that.

Edit: Return not Night. I'm an idiot.

Edit 2: And it sort of makes sense that Julie might accept an offer from the entity. IIRC It hurts being dead, and eating brains takes the pain away so she may opt to take a killer role in the trials rather than be loose around the world. Bringing Curt in as a survivor could be the entity's cruel joke.

  • Hook?

    I'll let myself out.

  • @MojoTheFabulous said:
And paying to remove the grind also removes the grind.

Yup. And I'm against being able to buy shards or bloodpoints.

  • @Peasant said:
In all seriousness the traps do nothing more than waste time. So unless Amanda just braindeadly tunnels Jake he'll get the trap off.

sigh At this point, I think you know me too well.

  • @Peasant said:
Nah, Claudette and Jake are a-okay. Makes sense perkwise, and gameplay-wise. Heck, makes sense in the toxic community too.

How are they going to kiss or whisper sweet nothings to eachother when Jake always has an RBT on his head?

  • Amanda. She's lovely.

And I don't care what they said at the end of Saw III (which was partially explained away in Saw VI), she's just trying to help you value your lives. That's sweet of her. You should be grateful.

  • Claudette and Jake? I think I'm going to throw up.
