As in the killers controls were backwards. Forward was backward and vice versa and left was right and vice versa.

Even if fogstreamers use and promote it, technically it's not allowed and should get you permabanned

I mean certain fogstreamers dc to derank yet that's somehow a big no no for everyone else. They claim that they give people the benefit of the doubt in terms of dc that it could be accidental or life happens. These people have done it where their fanbase KNOWS it wasn't and yet they're a fogstreamer.

  • No change. No word from BHVR. Still having it happen about 3-6 times daily on PS4

Agreed. Especially with all of the disconnects I've had. Really enjoyed the game yesterday with 4 WGLF stacks, party streamers, numerous gens and chases. Got to the end game and boom. Blue screen.

    Reallllllly thought that was cool.

Just wait until you have those 4 stacks with BPS and the killer uses the dc exploit on you that BHVR seems to be ignoring.

You'd get 0 bp no matter what you did, lose your items, and depip the next time you log in.

Dude, your thread was closed and the solution (dedicated servers) is coming. Get over it.

It wasn't closed and that isn't a solution. Waiting another 6-8 months of being exploited? Bullshit.

  • It's also going to be heavily skewed by the killer dc exploit which counts as a dc for the 4 survivors and it's rampant on consoles.

Is there any official stats about the rage quitting/dc culture? Something like the percentage of players who intentionally disconnected from a game in progress in the past 60 days more than once on average per day or gaming session ?

My best guess is that's between 10% and 35% but it would be nice to have some official stats on this.

Doesn't matter. I mean hell if you wanna ragequit without impunity you just need to ######### on the first hook and apparently the mods on here claim it's fine and want to harass you about disagreeing about their "that's that" mentality.

If you body block them in a corner or in the basement, not allowing them to leave, you can get banned for it.

This is more clustered. If u trap them in the basement to wait our borrowed time ur fine, but trapping them for several minutes is reportable and can get u banned

I posed this in the other thread and it went unanswered. So it's ok for you to wait out BT by bodyblocking the basement. If survivors found a way to body block myers somewhere for EW3's duration where he couldn't attack it would be fine? Same situation really.

There is no way to bodyblock Myers cuz he just has to stalk to get no body collision. Also, u need to be close to Myers to bodyblock but then u get just simply M1ed

You didn't read the part about not being able to hit anyone. Everyone is claiming it's ok to trap them until BT runs out. So if there was a way that survivors found to trap a Myers and only used it until EW3 wore off, it would be fine right? I highly doubt it and it would be posted on forums requesting bans for whoever did it.

I remember that thread and answered your question already. Yes, it is okay for a killer to body block survivors in a basement to wait out Borrowed Time. That is a perfectly valid strategy. As for your Evil Within question, if there was a valid in game mechanic to waste the killers time to wait out the EW3 then sure.

There will never be a way for survivors to legally trap the killer though so it's a moot point. You can't body block the killer as he can just hit you. If there is a way for you to trap the killer where he can't hit you such as the on the tractor or in the swamp, that is clearly a bug and abusing it is bannable. You can however loop the killer until EW3 resets.

And by the way, trapping the killer is in no way shape or form the same thing as trapping a survivor. If the killer is trapping a survivor then the other survivors are still working generators or other objectives. If the survivors were able to trap the killer then he/she can no longer work toward their objectives at all. It really is an apple and oranges comparison. Consider your question answered twice now.

No you didn't answer the question. You said if there was a way to waste their time in EW3. Not the same as what is happening with BT in the basement. If survivors found a way in game to body block a Myers to where he couldn't attack anyone, but only did it until EW3 wore off it would be exactly the same.

pretty sure we're getting rare/ultra rare perks at a higher rate. true, survivors are getting those too... but at a lower rate due to the firecrackers.

but, ya know... so not fair. xD

They can also find them frequently in chests which is way better than getting a green key.

All killers are op at rank 20 but if he plays all killers, he can't become really good with one or two before reaching fun ranks.

He can play badly and learn the nurse at low ranks, they will bully his nurse at rank 1 though. Learning difficult killers at low ranks is better imo but you are right as well.

True, but more than likely he/she won't be rank 1 any time soon and can switch to nurse after the first 50 games or so which won't give him rank 1.

Yeah he definitely shouldn't play killers until he learns the maps first. I think it is best to start to learn difficult killers at yellow ranks.

For somebody that has FPS history, huntress is one of the best choices for beginners though.

Eh not so much in that there's a lot more involved than just aim and shoot. If anything they might have more trouble with here due to the hatchet mechanic being way different than a bullet.

However, running and stabbing work very much like real life in this game. So your little stab back was worthless because you seem to not be able to see how the game functions.

I've played both on console and pc. On console you just need to strife instead of using the camera, not a big deal. You should know that already.

Except it doesn't work in all cases and YOU should know that already. Hence I will camp them to my heart's content. But hey, complain about getting camped if I camp you in game for using broken mechanics.

Hence the only time I camp is when people 360. I expect killers to camp when someone uses it.

In case anyone is having trouble understanding the irony:

The advice being given to @purebalance by @Vietfox regarding 360s can apply, verbatim, to any "heated" mechanic, including the one that they themselves are complaining about in this very topic.

I don't condone either. You want to abuse mechanics, then so will I. There is no irony there. The irony would be if Vietfox was also complaining about camping which I didn't see. If it was complaining about camping, then yes irony in that git gud can apply from its mouth, but not when it got downed and camped.

  • Yupp there's an exploit that killers are using and BHVR has ignored it for months. People are claiming that once there are dedicated servers it would be fixed. So basically we're supposed to suffer about 8 more months of this when it's been going on for over a year if not longer. I have a thread with numerous people trying to debunk it and had to pull YouTube videos and I've tagged it etc and zero comment from within the company even though it's beyond 5 pages.

Nurse is definitely not for someone just starting killer. Billy is ok if you run up against potatoes, but even then I still think neither of them are good for baby killers. Huntress is even a little hard in terms of learning hatchet throws. LF, Freddy, Myers, Wraith and Hag are good starter killers. Much less most of them work well at rank 20-10.

...I literally said it's a legit strategy just like camping is. I don't even camp but I think it's funny survivors call it out like it's the worst thing you can do and then run in circles all game. Both are strategy. Running in circles works better but that doesn't mean a killer can't camp if they want to.

Camping is not a legit strategy. It's not bannable, but it's no longer supported. If it was, there wouldn't be an emblem penalty(albeit a practically nonexistent one) which implies the devs think it shouldn't be happening unless survivors are right there.

  • It would just be something people would use to flame people post game or on the forums honestly. In a good world, sure. WoW has stats available and you beat someone in arena there and they're making accounts on your server "Oh little fotm who can't get gladiator any other season" because they looked at your profile.

Exactly my sentiment. No one needs an excuse to play the way they want.

When the "way they want" is detrimental to everyone involved, even themselves, yes you need an excuse. Camping hurts both sides. Nobody wants 10k point games where you barely single pip.

  • Legion is like Nurse in that low skill players will not play him well. The problem is that unlike Nurse who has a similar skill cap, your rewards for reaching that skill cap are not even remotely the same. Rank 1 killers who can get 4k with him with 3+ gens up can probably do the same with Freddy and LF and yet Freddy is getting a rework. A lot of them are saying he's worse than Freddy even with the pre launch tweaks.

  • On one hand I wish there was a killer add on for all killers similar to the firecracker. On the other hand, pretty sure people are stockpiling the ebony moris and UR add ons.

  • I think a lot of you are missing the point of generators being a time sink in that 1) It's somewhere the killer knows you will be and 2) you will be there for a prolonged time.

There is a gameplay value to generators taking time. If you make them harder, new players and probably old players will complain. If you make them faster, it's not fair to the killer because even if there were 15 generators that you needed to do but were quick and the total time was longer than the 5 you do now, the odds of the killer finding anyone is slim.

That bug happened for me as a survivor on the new map a few times just for the one in the lodge.

Yep, "a SeCrEt SuRvIvOuR nErF? "

That's what the "killer mains" would say(survivor mains claiming to be killer mains). I knew it was there both times because certain gens are always present especially if they have an achievement for them.

  • I mean if you were a fake killer main aka a survivor still salty about nerfs, you'd be claiming that killer queues are long because there's no survivors and everyone went killer.

Fire up affects pallet break and window vaults speed, bamboozle only window vaults

The thing is the perks say "vault speed" or "vault" on all of them and don't specify. I agree that the pallet vault is too fast to even matter or maybe even be possible.

That would mean using intended ingame mechanics would get you banned.
    That's weird.

It wasn't intended as a way to exit the game. That's not weird. Using intended game mechanics in UNINTENDED ways is definitely something that has gotten people banned from many games historically. The hook escape button is not "WAHHHHH I DON'T WANT A DC BAN SO I'LL DO THIS TO RAGE QUIT."

Go back and reread my change suggestion in this thread and then we'd have this situation fixed. Until then it is a rage quit.

  • @powerbats said:

    @purebalance said:

So you're ragequitting which is against the rules. It flat out says rage quitting in the report listing. Killing yourself on the hook IS currently against the rules, they just don't enforce it.

    @purebalance said:

It's still a rage quit which is forbidden by the rules.

Incorrect, you could have isp issues, hand slips, the game lags, your hand got tired etc. The report states that rage quitting aka disconnecting is a bannable offence. IT doesn't say anywhere that suiciding on the hook is a bannable offence.

    From the official rules:

    UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

Disconnects or rage quitting - DO NOT REPORT Aka unplugging your router/modem/internet cord, restarting computer, killing process off.

Suiciding on the hook isn't mentioned because the devs know that'd be a really foolish thing to punish for considering all the reasons already mentioned.

How do you prove they did it on purpose, are you secretly recording them over their video cam? Are you going to run an illegal program to monitor their keystrokes or button mashing. Are you going to ask them after each death on hook why they died early?

Are you going to scan every killers game to make sure it wasn't something they did like lag switching, bad isp, or check each survivors connection and make sure it's good?

Hook suicide is mentioned. It says disconnects OR rage quitting meaning they are similar yet different.

  • @Jago said:
Who wants to keep playing when you get camped and other survivors are stupid enough to not do gens ? Lel. I'd DC aswell.

You ######### on the hook and you don't get punished currently even though it's a rage quit. You dc and you get punished because it's a rage quit.

Plain and simple. They're both ragequitting and I had 3 games in a row where 2 people did it because of a camper.

    NEED LOL BUTTON BACK!!!

Not sure if agreeing or being dumb. It literally says "rage quitting" not disconnecting in the report menu.

OH NO, Understand i am laughing at you!

Well then you're dumb. I guess people who have no logic laugh at people. Inb4 this is called "rude" when you're the one being rude and have lost any deserving of politeness.

  • @Watery said:
if I’m going to be blunt, this logic is flawed. Literally makes no sense: if your teammate kills themselves, learn to deal. I hate it as much as the next guy, but if it REALLY bothers you that much, play swf

Tell me how that's different than a dc other than 1k bp and the fact a dc already loses 2 pips for doing it?

I'm truly struggling with trying to find words to describe this thread. I'm trying very hard to say something that isn't rude or offensive. So I'll simply say this. I strongly disagree with the OP.

Say what you want, he's been insulting some people in this thread.

Show where I've been rude. The only rude one here is you and the people trying to go through mental gymnastics claiming that killing yourself on the hook isn't rage quitting which is against the rules.

Dead by Daylight is an online game, so the interruption of the computer connection between guest and host therefore contrasts with the rules, like a football player who arbitrarily leaves the playing field during the game. Suicide on the hook is instead part of the game, like a football player who, despite having the ability to avoid a goal, does not intervene. The reasons can be the most disparate, and cannot be judged: the penalty for those who play badly is defeat, the penalty for those who play incorrectly is the disciplinary sanction. Let's see some good reasons to commit suicide on the hook:
    1) altruistic sacrifice for the companion who has found the hatch or who is likely to fall into an ambush;
    2) awareness of the impossibility of being saved in time, and conscious renunciation of points for struggling;
    3) surrender (you can claim correctness from your opponent, but not that they continue to play a game that they consider lost to humiliate them or to gain more points on their frustration: even in war the surrender is admitted, I do not see what absurd reason it should be excluded in an online game, whose main purpose is the enjoyment of individuals who have paid its purchase price for leisure time).

I find it essentially tyrannical to impose on other players what moves to make within the rules, to use the threat of sanction to force them to play in a certain pre-established way: the players are not puppets, they have their own head and are free to play according to the priorities, methods and strategies that they, according to their unquestionable judgment, consider appropriate, within the rules: as long as struggling will require repeated pressure of an X, each player retains the freedom to decide whether to press it and to what extent to press it; when, in a hypothetical future, the struggling will be automatic, the player will have to take up the whole sacrificial process, from the beginning to the very end.

Bullshit it isn't. Killing yourself on the hook is 100% the same thing as walking off the field mid game. You can try your mental gymnastics all you want, but they are both rage quitting.

    After the recent BBQ nerf.
    Out of curiosity.

You can camp all you want but you're gonna get gen rushed because you're not applying map pressure. Additionally, you also lose emblem points towards your Chaser category (I think, I never camped so I don't know what it takes points off of). I usually play strong killers like the Spirit who doesn't need to camp because she is strong enough to hook everyone 3 times on rotation. Overall, it comes down to your preference, if you camp then it's gonna be harder to rank up, especially against survivors who know how to punish it.

What's the point in ranking up? Rank 1 has long queues, gen rushers, expert loopers, death squads, and no reward for getting there.

On lower ranks you don't have those problems and even get more points.

    So why bother?

You should want to play with people on your skill level. Essentially it should be easy until it gets hard enough that you don't rank up(they might need to expand the ranks a little though).

TFW you try to make rare items common in mystery boxes and accidentally affect in game chests too.

In my case, I struggle until the very end or until my fingers give up. People who give up when they could have been saved are simply selfish.

The amount you push in struggle phase doesn't matter beyond the prescribed amount. It's just a steady hit per like 1-2 seconds.

I got tendinitis. I’m a big no no for fighting games and constant button pressing. I sometimes have to let go.

Which is why I have previously suggested both mechanics need to be revamped if you read the thread.

The escape option needs to be 3 random skill checks closer to the end of the first phase, but not one after the other. They should be between the size of overcharge rank 3 and the great skill check area.

Struggle phase just needs to go in general and be really just nothing but the animation.

With the Christmas update the messed up something with the Chests. It is super easy to find Ultra Rare items in chests. In my first game I opened a chest and got a Skeleton Key (No Plunderers). 2nd game found 2 Rainbow Maps (with Plunderers). Start looting away boys for easy Ultra Rares.

I think they did it because the firecrackers are in there. If you're running perks for chests right now you're pretty screwed if you're doing AitH and PI because there's a high chance for a firecracker. Maybe they did it to offset that? At first I said rainbow map and key aren't really what I want when I'm doing chests, but if I escape with enough of them it's definitely a bonus for later on. I've seen more UR(only key and map ofc) than anything other than the firecracker and I would have liked to have a toolbox or medkit for the match. Basically your only chance to get a medkit is running pharmacy right now.

Killers get points from a dc what's the problem?

    Yikes.

Right, yikes. Killers get 625 for a dc and get 2 points towards sacrifice emblem. It's 1100 if you ######### on the hook and you still get the same 2 points.

  • @popoles said:
Wait. What do you want to achieve with this, OP?

Killing yourself on the hook needs to count towards their little dc bans. Instead of dc'ing people just kill themselves on the hook. Same result.
