Not all the people are pro player. Normal players (like most of my friends) Find dificult get pass the level 13.
For everyday players maybe is easy to rank up.
But for casual player is hard.

That's the point of ranks in this game. There's no bonus. Ranking in this game is simply a match making tool. The problem is at lower ranks people do things that make the point value way lower in a game (camping, not struggling on the hook and trying to pull yourself off etc).

  • @DemonDaddy said:
I agree that ranks are suffering because of this. Its just sad cause so many complained emblems were to difficult and the Dev's lowered the bar. Now we got rank lock, which is great idea to counter trolls, but its forcing people where they don't belong.

They need to remove depipping from DC. You already get 0 points. You can actually go from 1 to 20 via dc which is also really dumb. Wanna talk people being in ranks they shouldn't be, this is the reason for that.

very true. lotta killer trash in this thread

If you think NOED makes a killer trash then I think you're trash for not cleansing the totems.. No perk decides a killer or survivors skill.. even though some are stronger then others you can't call someone trash because of their perks. Like if I see you in a lobby with a flashlight and I bring Franklin's Demise does that make me trash because I used a perk you don't like?

It does. Perk is for bad players who cant get not one kill without using that crutch. If some one was able to self care then thats their fault for losing them. oh and DS is fine too

Can't get not one kill? So they can get kills without it? Good job.

Really though the number one killer could run this perk if they wanted. The player is allowed to use what they want. Even if it's "op" crutch perks. Even though NOED has counters

Can't get not one kill is not a double negative. Can't not get one kill is however, so stop trying to act smart. Can't get not one kill technically means only 1.

    Title.

    Change my mind.

P.S. Self Care usage is officially declared at ~24%. That means that, on average, 1 survivor will have it each game and the other 3 won't. Do a little check for yourself and make a note of how many SCs you can see each game.

It is only 24% because you can only pick SC once in every loadout and not 4 times in each slot

Doubtful. Most probability would count this case similar to probability without replacement meaning if you had a bin of 10 different colored balls and pulled out a red one, you wouldn't be able to get the red one again. The 24% is more than likely accounting for the fact that you cannot have it in the other slots.

Ehm isnt PS4 where ochido is doing his work?

One of the biggest difference between platforms is that the nurse and huntress are not (mostly not) played due to low fps and controller aim. This makes the game significantly easier for survivors on consoles.

Also you ahve to keep in mind that the console community is not as old as the PC one and is still learning (especially PS4 since that free ps+ thing)

Pretty sure he's on PC unless something has changed since Tru3Ta1ent has played him on occasion.

PC has an edge naturally since being able to use a mouse is far more accurate than the Xbox or Ps4 controller. Granted both survivors and killers will have a mouse so it evens out, but the point stands.

Oh and survivors are now getting the 2x depip as if they dc'd when the killers basically finding ways to forcibly dc everyone.

    Is this happening a lot?

It happens on console, not for PC.

If the killer quits the game, the emblems will show it as a depip but if you look closely at the "rank progress" it will say 0. Also, it shows yours rank lower on the scoreboard but when you exit the lobby to the menu your rank will be what it was before the game started.

If the killer DC's and you lose rank then it was a DC on your end not theirs. That's the only time I've lost rank from a DC is because the connection spiked and I'm the only one to get booted from the game. And no it's not my connection, this sort of thing only happens if I stay in a game with red ping, hence why I avoid those lobbies whenever I can.

No I literally just had 2 games in a row today that are what you're talking about. I got my points and kept the item I found and it looked like I didn't get a pip but I did.

The case I mentioned earlier is something specific certain killers are doing that forces the survivors to dc in addition to them. So basically nobody gets points and everyone loses 2 pips. It just so happens that every time it happened the killer was frustrated? Bull. It was them doing something the devs are unaware of being possible.

Killers dc more then survivors? Really? And I didn't know that wglf functions the same way as bbq... I better look out for that killer's aura next time I get a stack.

He SPECIFICALLY said stacks. Another baddie showing true colors.

  • Except you can't get them on DCs. Bullshit just happened again where killer got mad he couldn't use billy right and I lost a rainbow map.

Crying about the fact that killers are designed to lose their add ons due to the nature of them and their bloodweb vs survivors losing them items and add ons on certain dc's just proves you're biased and bad at the game. Cry more about something that is irrelevant to the conversation. Saying killers lose XXXXX is like saying it sucks that you're poor, but my dog threw up on my lap today.

  • I'm not entirely sure of this. A doctor once was point farming with people and I was doing gens so they got mad. They pulled me off the basement hook and wanted to heal me so he can hit me and I wasn't having it. He tried to body block the steps without hitting me and couldn't so the other survivors helped block and I was still making steady progress because they kept having to readjust for the little bit up I got. I reported all 4.

  • He wasn't expecting them to dive back and then gets mad and tries to blame the game when he attacks in confusion..... ok

You basically NEED to make use of the times you get it. Wasting it without downing someone is extremely detrimental overall.

  • I'm really curious what perk would be there that wouldn't already be known somehow via gameplay by the time a player is dead.

Most of the obsession perks give pretty good tells short of underused perks like spies from the shadows. Really the only ones I can think of that might matter are Blood Warden and Bitter Murmur.

All of the hex perks that matter give a tell of some sort. Almost all of the obsession perks that are actually used(assuming Remember Me isn't used frequently which I don't really see streamers touch it).

Except dribbling ends up taking a ridiculous amount of time which is a commodity in this game. Gen tapping saves time immensely in comparison and costs none.

Gentapping still slows down gens considerably. Saying it saves time depends on what you compare it to since experienced players will just hit the great skill checks, which is much faster then tapping. Both tapping and dribbling almost negate the perk associated with them and neither of them are exploits. One being stronger then the other doesn't make it an exploit.

Gen tapping does not cost any considerable time. There is VERY little delay between stopping and starting. Once again nowhere near the actual seconds between pickup and drop. Gen tapping pretty much all but negates hex whereas dribbling you need to be pretty much at a hook to make it worth using.

  • @HellDescent said:
They have quitter bonus implemented in the game, which prevents you from loosing pips. Every quitter should count a sacrifice. But I actually didn't think about ultra-rare addons, this shouldn't apply to them

  • @Nickeh said:
Ruin is designed to make gens take longer to complete... gen tapping takes longer than working on a gen normally. I don't and still will probably never see the problem here.

It barely adds time compared to dribbling. Getting off and on a gen is nowhere near the time of dropping and picking up a survivor several times.

Try hitting ruin skillchecks at 30 fps and say that again. Some people just avoid skillchecks cuz the performance in this game is a ######### and they can't run 60 fps

So long as you don't get Doctor or lag spikes its not hard to hit Hex skill checks. I play PS4 and don't bother hunting for Ruin. It takes practice at first but becomes almost second nature after that.

I mostly hunt the totem because I'm pretty good at finding it and usually my teammates are ######### at hitting the skill checks but refuse to stop and look.

@PhantomMask20763 Had a difficult time with Freddy tonight. But I expected that due to mechanics and just starting with him. Did hook a couple, no sacrifices, but I'm fine with that just starting out.

Really liked how Myers played. I had watched some vids on him over the weekend since playing Killer during double BP was impossible, and saw the Evil Within tips you also mentioned. I got three sacrifices one match, But averaged two most the time. Decided to level him to 10.

(Thinking of trying The Hag and Doctor out more, maybe.)

Now, a question: On my level 10 Bloodweb for Myers, I have the choice of the purple Save the Best for Last. The only difference between that and the normal perk is that you lose 3 tokens if you attack your obsession instead of 4. The other option is Deerstalker.

Should I take the Save the Best for Last upgrade, or Deerstalker? I ask because this is level 10, so whichever one I grab, The Entity is nabbing the other.

Freddy is considered one of the worst killers in the game from the perspective of the good players. He's not so much hard as his mechanics are not conducive without the right add ons. Nurse on the other hand has a high skill cap, but is amazing once you get good with her.

Well I would personally take save the best for last because it allows me to end chases much quicker due to all the tokens you can have but if you think you'll be leaving survivors on the ground a lot take deerstalker. I personally don't use it because I find it to be very situational but when you do need it it comes in handy, I'd still pick save the best for last though. Plus deerstalker might show up in your bloodweb again if you would still want it, it's all rng really.

Deerstalker is also a very bad player oriented perk like Unrelenting and Iron Grasp. Being used to the normal game and able to use good perks makes you get better.

Someone wished death upon me today for "camping".
It was a four claudette swf, where everyone bodyblocked, and when I still got the hook, all of them ran around the hook, trying to get the save, and yet they thought I was camping for not leaving. Well, if everyone is there, and I know it, and I see them, in their mind, I should still go and check the gens, because its the decent thing to do.

Camping used to bother me so much, I got so angry, but now I am more upset if I see 3 survivors go for the save when I get camped, instead of actually doing something. Now, camping might not be a tactic I care for, because if I spent all this money on the game, dlc's and cells just to stand and keep someone company while they die, well, thats just no fun what so ever to me, me personally think its boring and useless, but to some it is their way of playing, and everyone should play how they want, but if I get camped, I use it as a break in the game to check my instagram, or watch my favorite streamer, or just go get that leftover chimighanga and enjoy that, prepare for the next hours of games that might be better.

The sooner you realize that some camp and some dont, well, the sooner you can save your bloodpressure and your sanity. And I play both on rank 1, and as a survivor, even I root for the killer to camp sometimes, because really, some players really deserves it. Just saying, we survivors are no saints, you know, the killers are not to fault for everything.

There's a huge difference between staying because you obviously know people are there and just staying just because. I play Identity V as well and their version of whispers is one of the better "perks" to have because the range is much tighter. People in that accuse you of camping when you know they're literally in 15 meters or so. It's dumb.

What about ruin? Hexes are broken in this game. There are counters to ruin. perks that counter it and it can be destroyed

There's counters to DS. Ruin and DS are on par with each other. I'd even wager to say Ruin is slightly better in terms of time consumption compared to DS.

You can only counter ds when you are 10 meters away from the hook.

You can counter DS by also slugging them which is what most killers do. A survivor on the ground is one not on gens and one that's probably trying to go heal them as well.

  • The thing is the totem is out now and really screws someone in a chase so realistically you shouldn't touch a totem unless you know. Any of the good players are pretty much indicating don't touch a totem unless you literally spawn on it or know ruin is in play.

My advice would be "Ignore people calling you toxic for just playing how you want to play." Unless you used exploits, bugs, or were going out of your way to ruin the game experience for a certain player, you did nothing wrong. Enjoy the game and have fun.

Also if you get stressed out from a match, there is no rule saying you can't just take it easy and farm the next round as long as you don't force other people to farm with you if they don't want to.

Face camping at low ranks is toxic as hell considering most of them are as bad as you are much less face camping is toxic in terms of NOBODY gets good points including the killer.

    Final question.

Will not rushing for Self-Care and BBQ gimp me? Before you answer, let me explain my expectations and play style.

The reason I was going for Dwight first was because I liked his team-oriented perks. I always preferred a play style that could work with my team that way.

I really don’t care for Leatherface, not from a film franchise or gameplay standpoint. I grew-up on horror, and never cared for the Texas Chainsaw films.

I also am not concerned with hitting any of the red ranks. I honestly am not worried about rank in that sense. Hell, before I purchased DBD, I didn’t even know it had Ranked only outside of KYF. I assumed it also had a casual mode like I played in Overwatch, HoTS, and Paladins. I just don’t care about ladder climbing.

I really bought DBD to play a hide-and-seek horror movie themed game that also contained some Hollywood killers that I liked or grew-up on. I’m much more interested in playing Myers, Freddy, Amanda (for the licensed) or Doctor and Huntress (for the originals, and once they fix her hatchets).

So, will not rushing for those meta-perks gimp me and make the game non enjoyable?

BBQ is great for racking up points. If you've hooked each survivor at least once you double your points at max rank and whenever you hook someone you can see anyone at a certain distance for like 3 seconds.

  • @davidps4DBD said:
    I disagree with the above.

    i believe:
    leatherface
    hag
    [after that it doesn't matter]

    survivors:
    claudette
    david king
    Dwight

bond is a very good control perk. with enough game experience, the information provided by bond can give you near-to-absolute insight on solo or group.

the perks provided by the spirit are underwelming, as is the spirit herself

Spirits perks are mostly for better ranked. I see a lot of people running spirit fury, but it's useless at low level so you are correct for a new player it's not worth it. However, Haunting Grounds could be beneficial if you're going to use hag.

Leatherface and David are definitely ones for their blood point boosts.

  • I'd be for that. If you're somehow masochistically running TotH with Ruin or something, I'd rather not waste my time on the ToTH totem if they're messing with it.

If you camp thanks for letting me do the gens chilling lol Why do people complain that much? Don't waste time, rush gens and press F to pay respects for your camped and tunnelled teammates.

Problem is that unless you're SWF, one of two things typically happens when a killer camps:

    1) survivor on the hook gets mad and intentionally dies which is a slap to your team not the killer

    2) other survivors on your team try to save rather than do gens which you need all 3 on gens in order to punish the camper. If only one of you is on gens during the camp, killer can easily get at least one more grab and camp.

1.) A survivor is close to the hook
    2.) Exit gates are open
    3.) Survivors swarm the hook

However, if you was actually rank 5 then you would already know tho. Just saying my fellow killer brother.

Most of those are never the case. Much less if he's saying his killer is rank 5 that probably implies that the survivor isn't and from 10-20 camping for no reason other than to bait and prevent escapes is rampant.

Unless you have voice chat running with a group or your group is full of selfish people(even selfish people should save people for points), most non coordinated groups will waste so much time trying to save rather than gen rush during a camp and there's really no way to fix it.

Rank 15 is not enough, there are still a lot of inexperienced players around. 5 ranks wont make much of a difference to those who intentionally de-rank to 20.

I mean the whole point of rank in this game is essentially just an MMR not anything that you get a bonus from. Being able to forcibly derank or even derank beyond certain points should not be allowed. If you get above 5,10,15 you shouldn't be able to go below those unless you don't play for a few months.

Brilliant. Absolutely necessary. I have a friend that just started playing the game (he wants to be a killer) and the fact the he is playing rank 1 survivors that have de-ranked to rank 20 is disgusting. This is why it's hard to get new killer mains. They experience the toxic bullying the first game they play.

Both sides get it, not just new killers.

Yes but it's a far steeper learning curve for a rank 20 killer vs rank 1 survivors than a rank 20 survivor vs rank 1 killer. At least the rank 20 survivor has help. No killers = no game. Survivors are a dime a dozen. I am a survivor main.

Oh please. I'm stuck in these ranks on survivor right now because of teammate mistakes. Constantly failing skill checks, using both escape hook attempts and not struggling, running the killer to your hook while in a chase before you were about to be saved, etc. Having teammates doesn't somehow make any difference of rank discrepancies
