  • I’ve enjoyed playing as Judgment a lot as a PS5 player. I’ve been using Prayer Kneeler though because it makes the killer far more accessible on console. I do want to learn how to play her without that add-on. It just feels difficult to do so without it :/

idk man it doesn't make sense to me when I compare blight with the other 4.4 killers.. all of them have powers that are extremely oppressive during chases and can work around pallets..even god pallets.. yeah sure blights power also work on some tiles/loops but I don't think anyone would disagree that his power in not as reliable/strong as the other 4.4 killers.. unless they some give him compensative buffs I really don't think he will work at all..

April Fool’s Day has already passed

  • I feel like that should just be an option in normal matches. Being able to have a randomized killer seems like a cool idea. Sometimes it’s just like “ehhh, I don’t know who to play” so just randomize it.

It shouldn’t be a forced thing in Chaos Shuffle though, but as an option if the player wants is neat

Maybe some lowering of her cooldown is possible but I dont think less than 10 (with addons) would be good idea thing is spirit is still top tier killer (in top 10 killers and she only isnt higher because of her nerfs through history when she came up she was first killer who just could and even did rival the nurse), she creates 50/50 situations probably the most out of all killers (if we dont call nurse where all depends when her user ends up) so I would get 12,11 seconds cooldown basekit maybe 10 if there would be no addon that would lower it (her power in comparison is still easier to use than blights and even its harder that chuckys imagine what would 8 seconds cooldown spirit do, player that has good headset with ears can be super deadly with her so it would be even busted to go against her than 10 seconds old chucky in hands of competant players).

I dont play spirit much because the sounds in DBD seems to changes through years, less grass etc. things than gave people that fucused more info back then now arent there (footsteps seems quiter not to mention i dont remember back in 2017 hearing more louder killers footsteps than survivors) but I actualy play her addonless ad she is still good killer all you have to do is predict where is survivor going and hear/spot where he is when he double backs and you will get hit or very close to survivor often, So no spirit isnt weak killer than needs that much of help (maybe few seconds from her cooldown to make it like 12 from 15 but thats it I dont think if bhvr will give her 10 they will still keep the adddon with same effect but will only make it unusable or her 9 seconds cooldown with it, they kind of miss sometimes when it comes to balancing addons they mostly just nerf it to be unusable or make it op) her power is still easy to use only thing that makes it hard is survivors that know how to play against it and fact you need good headset with good hearing but thats pretty all requirements for spirit to be good with her (if we dont include experience with some techs or more deep mind games like the one when is basement in the shack when you mess with survivors audio) which compare to blight he is harder to use he is busted yes but still he is one of hardest mechanical killers in the game which spirit isnt if you hear survivor then he is kinda done against her. unless spirit has poor tracking, hearing or survivor has some perks to counter her like iron will or OTR.

I have mained Spirit since the day released back in 2018 so I’ve been through all the busted phases (I’m so punny) she’s gone through and all the bugs and changes she’s gotten.

Playing her isn’t only “have a good headset”. Just because you can hear the survivor doesn’t mean you’re 100% going to catch them and down them. You will screw up some phases just like even the best Nurse players will whiff blinks and same with Blight players missing rushes. Plus with all the audio bugs, you never know how she’s gonna feel to play with each new patch. You’re fighting with audio more than actually enjoying the match. Footsteps are always messed up (killer footsteps are super loud right now) and the spacial audio is terrible above 95° FOV. Sometimes a survivor doubles back and they still sound in front of you like 1.5 seconds after they double backed.

I really don’t think long cooldowns should be a thing unless the killer has an extremely busted power. Even lately the cooldowns have been super short. Houndmaster and Krasue both have a 3 second cooldown and Ghoul and Springtrap I believe have between a 6 and 8 second cooldown and even new Myers has a 4 second cooldown. I just think Spirit needs some number tweaks due to her being so old and a relic of her time.

Even Dracula has shorter cooldowns despite almost completely power creeping Spirit.

And ease of use should not dictate how long or short a cooldown is because even though Spirit is easier mechanically than Blight or Nurse, I can guarantee you that anyone who is worth their salt on Blight or Nurse is on cruise control throughout the match and it’s like second nature and it’s no longer a challenge. They are hard to get into but the easiest thing once you get really good with them.

Personally I don’t believe she should have such a long cooldown when so many other killers have 4x shorter cooldowns and Blight is allowed to have so many oppressive abilities at his disposal. No I don’t think her cooldown should be below 10 seconds but anywhere between 10-12 would be better than it is now.

God no just dont buff spirit I know blight is way more busted but the thing is you can see him act spirit on the other hand you can only guess, such annoying killer to deal with i would just rather face nurse or blight, ghoul, larry than spirit.

Have you ever played base-kit Spirit? It’s painful without add-ons.

Most Spirit players (including myself) play her with Rusty Flute which brings her cooldown to about 10.5 seconds. Swapping her cooldown with Blight would just make Rusty Flute base-kit which every Spirit runs anyways.

She’s pretty reliant on a cooldown add-on to keep up with other strong killers and she’s punished with a longer cooldown than both Nurse and Blight despite having a weaker power. No reason Blight should have a shorter cooldown while having faster movement speed in both his power AND base-kit movement speed and can break pallets with his power.

This would just make Spirit less reliant on an add-on to keep up pressure that other stronger killers already have without the use of an add-on

  • • 110%

    • Lose four tokens on pallet break (Ghoul loses all but one token so Blight should lose all but one token)

    • Swap his cooldown with Spirit’s and make her cooldown 10 seconds and Blight’s 15 seconds.

    • Another add-on pass

  • @TimberGoingDown said:

    Spirit.

Fix her duration addons and the addons that actively make her power worse. Replace Cherry Blossom, because you should be learning how to phase properly. Fix the bugged audio addon.

Cherry Blossom is kind of a necessary evil because some people might be hard of hearing and can’t play her without that add-on. While I don’t like it nor do I use it, it’s there for that purpose.

I do agree that she could use an add-on pass that gives her a more unique variety of add-ons to choose from. Why would you stray away from flute, sports cap, or tailsman? Her brown add-ons are just worse variations of blue or green rarities and her purple ones are either niche or completely nerf you.

  • I like voice lines on the killers that have them but I really don’t care about the survivor voice lines. I wish there was an option to turn them off especially if they go back and add voice lines to older characters.

Context is key because I couldn’t imagine someone like Wesker or Chucky without voice lines because it adds a lot of personality that would otherwise be missing. However I don’t need to hear Nic and Lara flapping their gums every time they enter a chase or get picked up by the killer. The novelty wears off quickly

Ok… Have you played Pinhead? His chain works the exact same way. Just saying.

I play one game of Nurse after playing her not for multiple months and do poorly. Then atfer 3 games, I dominate survivors with okish builds. This is not because im insanely good at games, but because ive played a LOT of killer and know survivor pathing and map layouts like the back of my hand. If you know all that, nurse becomes a monster. Again, im not talking about mastering her. Only about performing well with her. Most survivors in public lobbies make a lot of mistakes and are not great my any means. Therefore you dont need much to beat them. Nurse feels overkill for most public matches. Its why I limit myself when I play her. "No aura, no slowdown" or "only allowed to use 2 blinks after a hook".

Nurse is not hard at all. Shes as close to a dbd-win button as it gets. Does that mean, that your wrong? No. Absolutely not. A majority of dbd´s playerbase sucks at her. Just like a majority of the players in Dark Souls 3 have not beaten the Nameless King. Most people play games for shorter amounts of time and dont want to invest that much into one aspect. Nurse is no different. The general player probably picks her up, plays a few rounds and dropps her because they lack the knowledge that is needed to make her the power house that she is. Then they play trapper until they get stomped and switch the game. Most people dont stick THAT long to one game as we insane people here on the forums do. Steam achievents are proof of that.

So why does that make Nurse a big problem if most of the playerbase cannot play her? I do agree that she is overkill to us players who can play her well and have 5000+ hours in the game. But so is Blight. So is Billy. So is Spirit. All of these S tier killers crush pub matches. Blight, Billy, and Spirit are going to dominate matches more so than Nurse for a majority of the playerbase because people will stick with them and have a larger pool of people that play them.

I just don’t see how an almost decade old killer that 2% of the playerbase can play to her fullest potential is in need of an overhaul when the other 3 S tiers are dominating more than her.

You are also not wrong. Nurse is a go-to “I want to win” killer. But the amount of times you see a Nurse and the amount of times you see her dominate the match is few and far between. Most Nurses are painfully average.

  • Like it or not, Nurse has her dedicated players and she’s an iconic figure in DBD. We’re so far into DBD’s life cycle that’s it’s like a “why bother” situation.

Whenever I face a Nurse and she destroys my team I’m just like “just another Nurse match. Classic” and I go next. She’s been here for almost a decade so I just accept it

    She's not hard.

There are a ton of killers that are a lot harder to play. Performing well with nurse comes down to game knowledge and a bit of muscle memory. Mastering nurse is something entirely different.

A decent nurse, however, wins a majority of public matches. Mastering her is, based off of my experience, not necessary outside of a comp. setting.

Her design is outdated and should change completely for the game to prosper.

She has proven time and time again to be a problem, but rather than taking the time to fix this, bhvr chooses to balance the game around her, ignoring the problem.

She easily the most difficult killer to get into and learn to play because you’re playing an entirely different game that ties directly to muscle memory. Most players will not stick to Nurse because of her steep learning curve. Your skill as every other killer doesn’t transfer to Nurse.

Now if you do stick to her and learn that muscle memory and what you can and cannot blink through then it’s smooth sailing. She’s by far the easiest killer to perform well with against most teams. She’s not mechanically difficult but you cannot deny that she’s harder for the casual player than most of the killer roster.

But the argument of “this killer isn’t hard” is will vary from person to person because if you practice ANY killer then you will eventually become good with them, it just takes time. Like with me personally, I think Singularity is very overblown when it comes to how hard he is, I think he’s pretty simple to play and not as hard as people make him out to be but I cannot get the hang of Wesker. It’s like I’m learning trigonometry when playing him.

TL:DR; Nurse is hard for most of the player-base and most people will not perform well with her

  • She’s a product of 2016 DBD and was the answer to infinites in the game at the time. She’s been grandmothered in so they aren’t gonna spend resources changing a free killer that’s entire power would have to be reworked because there’s no money to be made that way.

She is hard to pick up and play and most casual people will play her a few times, get destroyed, then never touch her again. She has a low kill rate, isn’t nearly as busted as she once was, and people rarely play her to her fullest potential. That’s why she’s in the state she’s in.

Yes she is the strongest killer in the game and will most likely continue to be that way because of when she was created and her fundamentally flawed power. Might as well just accept it, the rest of us have. It’s just how Nurse is.

  • I can see them reverting his turn rate, making his missed chainsaw cooldown slightly more punishing, putting Overdrive on a slightly longer cooldown, and removing Lopro.

He doesn’t need major changes, but he is a bit overtuned at the moment.

  • They’re probably not changing SM that much other than number changes and band-aid fixes to make her more tolerable until she gets a bigger update next year. It’s listed under “tweaks” and not “update” or “rework”.

I’m most excited for Plague, not for any kind of changes but for the possibility of her finally getting her own unique chase music. Pls BHVR, I’ve been waiting 😭

SM steps are loud? Are you sure? Maybe a cosmetic difference?

I have never heard step sounds from her before, but to be fair I don't actually play against her, I always go next lol

I mean not like Nemesis/Demo loud but her footsteps are definitely very audible. She has giant combat boots on and I can hear her well enough to not get grabbed off of a gen. Of course she’s still gonna sneak up on you and get close but she has some sort of audible cue with her giant combat boots.

But I’ve always been very weary and attentive to audio and how loud everything is because I main Spirit 🤓

  • @Rudjohns said:

Even undetectable killers have sounds that announces they are close, well, except for the Skull merchant…

It's just a characteristic of theirs to set them apart from each other. Dredge is loud, yes, but he should be, considering how his body is built

Have you asked yourself why Clown makes sound when vaulting but other killer's don't?

I don’t feel like SM is anymore stealthy than any of the other undetectable killers.

Wraith, Sadako, and Myers I’ll give you because they either have really audible cues with their breathing or ambient noise. However if Sadako is just undetectable without being de-manifested then she is easily one of the stealthiest killers because she has no breathing or footsteps.

But SM’s footstep audio is pretty loud. Those boots are stompy. If someone is getting yoinked off of gens against a SM then they aren’t paying attention. She’s no stealthier than GF who is shorter, has darker clothing, and has harder to hear audio cues.

  • Artist

Go to loop, she sets down the crow, you must leave or die, find another loop, you get hit in the process of running to another area, rinse and repeat. Her gameplay is so monotonous. Zoning characters are some of my least favorite.

I find the mind game potential with jungle gyms and other structures to be really enjoyable, like “oh is the killer gonna double back. Maybe they’re gonna respect the pallet and I’m gonna keep running” and Artist just deletes all of that entirely by pressing M2.

  • I started playing the game on March 27th, 2018 (I remember because that’s Mariah Carey’s birthday and she’s my favorite singer) and that period from when I started playing all the way to Legion’s release, I look back super fondly on.

I was new to the game, first chapter release I was apart of was Clown and his menu music always reminds me of that tome period, then was the summer BBQ event, and then Spirit’s release (who was and still is to this day my main killer).

Legion’s release soured me because I hated old Legion as did pretty much everyone at that time.

There was other times I enjoyed like ST release to Silent Hill, that was a good time. Nowadays, there are some good periods but not nearly as frequent as previous years.

I guess. I would say that a good Spirt gets held by a few pallets on each map, and everything else is just a hit if she players properly. Whereas you can loop a Billy and possibly a Blight now on most loops and get away without that much of a guarantee. People really underestimate Spirit a lot. A good spirit will demolish you and make it look super simple. Because in the end it does not matter that you can hear her, because she moves so fast.

I’m like the #1 advocate for “Spirit is still a strong killer”. I’ve mained her since her release back in 2018 and I’ve been P100 with her for a year. She’s my golden child for killers, I love her.

But she’s nowhere near as stupid as she once was. Her old busted add-ons (MDR, Prayer Beads, green speed and duration, purple amulet), no collision while phasing, no directional audio are a thing of the past and make her more counterable. However you can use directional audio to your advantage at most loops and it doesn’t matter if they can hear you because you’re nearly double their movement speed and the collision doesn’t matter to good Spirit players and is actually a buff because she can’t be body blocked by aggressive survivors trying to use their endurance perks.

But she is cucked by god pallets and certain windows while Nurse just doesn’t care. Plus two story maps, Nurse is just a better option because it takes Spirit forever to traverse something like Midwich while Nurse can be wherever she wants. Not to mention Eyrie makes no footsteps so playing Spirit is hell on that map. Nurse is usually always gonna outperform Spirit. Nurse will outperform anyone on any given day.

Between Spirit and Blight honestly they’re pretty equal. Spirit can actually recharge her power quicker than Blight with certain add-ons, she suffer no fatigue or cooldown after an attack, and she has less counterplay. Both have insane chase powers. But I would still give a slight edge to Blight because of his map traversal and shorter base cooldown.

Now with Billy I just don’t see how he’s better than Blight or Spirit. He’s so much better now but his chase power isn’t as strong, he’s more counterable, he’s cucked by more maps, and he’s way hard to pick up and play. Billy is a great killer but not on Spirit or Blight levels.

Spirit is one of those killers that will make good survivors look average and average survivors look terrible.

  • @radiantHero23 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/416980/killer-tier-list-8-00

    • Sadako and Pig above Ghosty.
    • Freddy next to Trapper.
    • Clown next to Nemesis
    • Slinger next to Demo and Bubba
    • Chucky a lot lower
    • Billy and Spirit are not on the same level as Nurse and Blight

Rest I can more or less agree with.

Ever since the removal of hug tech and his add-ons being reworked, Blight isn’t as stupidly oppressive as he used to be and is closer in strength with Spirit and Billy than he is Nurse.

Nurse is truly the only S tier killer. Sure you could consider Spirit and Blight S tier but they aren’t as busted as they used to be and their power/add-ons have been changed over the years. Nurse has been nerfed as well but she still fundamental breaks the game than Spirit and Blight can’t do. Blight and Spirit are still very strong and in a tier of their own because they are head and shoulders above other A tier killers but not Nurse level.

Billy on the other hand is a strong high A tier killer but I don’t believe he is as strong or stronger than Blight or Spirit.

  • Sadako gets changed every three months so please give people slack who don’t currently know whether it’s Sadako 3.0 or Sakado 17.0. Most players are casual and don’t check patch notes.

I’m a 7200 hour player and even I had a brain fart moment against Sadako.

I was like “why tf am I getting stacks when she didn’t teleport near me”.

I thought it was like Sadako 1.0 where you only got stacks if you were within 16 m of the TV that she teleported to. I didn’t know that you got condemned stacks if you were within 16 m of ANY powered TV.

She gets changed so much that her counters all run together at times. “Do I hold a tape? No that’ll give me stacks. Wait, that’s Sadako 1.0 nevermind. If she hits me I’ll gain two stacks right? No, wait that’s Sadako 2.0.”

Now I couldn’t even tell you what her add-ons do :/

  • I just had a three minute match as Nurse on Saloon like two days ago.

  • Saying “GG” is not toxic but there are instances where it’s probably not smart to say it.

Let’s say the killer was Pig on Garden of Joy and they got two hooks. That was definitely not a “gg” in their eyes.

Or if you completely smash a team at five gens as Nurse. They probably don’t see that as a “gg”.

Saying “gg” is good sportsmanship but it can come off as taunting or sarcastic to the opposing side if their match wasn’t good or at least a close back and forth encounter.

The only things I've ever really considered toxic in DBD is camping, tunneling and slugging. When I say moris are a form of BM because they are optional has to do with the means by which the killer chooses to eliminate the survivor. That is why I used the fatality in MK comparison as an example. You can end the match with a basic attack, or you can choose to rip their spine out and hold it up as a trophy. You see how the 2 different ways to end the match can be taken very differently. I know some people don't care. We just have different perspectives on this. If you're fine and never see any ill intent behind having your guts ripped out, especially after being tunneled down, then more power to you. I see it as BM. If moris were the only way killers could eliminate survivors then it would just be part of the basic mechanics of the game so you could never really consider any other intent. There are some occasions where I don't consider moris as BM. Its usually when it involves proxy camping and tunneling that I do, which unfortunately is what I see most common with them. If you're tunneling survivors, I just consider you toxic.

I see what you’re views on moris are but I feel as though a lot of people have a bad stigma over moris due to what they used to be with the one hook moris and even back in 2016 when you could be moried on your first down. People usually used moris if they reaaaaaallly wanted to win and it was considered “toxic”. Nowadays though, they’re whatever.

But I do usually see killer playing a tad bit sweatier when they bring in a mori.

I personally don’t like being moried because I’m numb to them and don’t care to see the animation especially when the killer was playing sweaty. It’s like dying over and over again in a Resident Evil game and you have to sit through the long killing animation. It’s cool for the first few time then you’re like “looks like I’m just gonna sit here for 30 seconds and look at this same animation I’ve seen 50 times already. Yay.“ I do definitely see what you mean with the MK comparison.

Overall I would still say moris are fine and in a much better place than they used to be but the stigma of the old moris still exist

  • It’s not necessarily the fault of Distortion. The perk is fine and it doesn’t need any changes, it’s the playstyle people use. Stealth is a viable option in certain situations, but often times it is at the expense of their teammates.

Let’s say there is Kate, Meg, Ada, and Feng. If Ada and Kate have Distortion and are both hiding behind walls and rocks then when they unhook, they immediately hiding in a bush, then I only have Meg and Feng to chase because they refuse to take heat for their teammates.

It’s called “teammate induced tunneling” and people that use Distortion usually play in that sort of playstyle and try their hardest to not be seeing the entire match and it’s super boring. Viable. But boring as hell for everyone.

People who want to lick rocks and walls, usually gravitate toward Distortion. Not the fault of the perk, it functions as its intended to, but it can lead to monotonous boring gameplay when the killer can only find two survivors, because the other two are Distortion users.

Even without Distortion, people will still play super stealthy and let their teammates die before taking any hook states

  • Yes. It’s boring. Who wants to play against four AI?

I don’t see the purpose behind the reasoning of “It doesn’t happen often so why should they implement it?” So what if it doesn’t happen often? It can still happen. Why do you want the killer to sit there and play against bots? How does it affect you if they end the match and go next?

The killer should be able to end the match if all four survivors disconnect. The killer didn’t queue up to face bots and it’s just gonna be a long drawn out boring match.

I’m depressed every time I get something like Hawkins as Billy.

Fixed it for ya, friend :)

Thank you for the fix. I appreciate that.

I still dislike that map even when I’m someone like Wraith 😭

  • I will dodge if…

    • I forgot to select a tome challenge

    • My ping is bad

    • An emergency happens

    • My food came

    • I’m facing a group of survivors I faced in the match before (mainly because I know they probably don’t wanna face the same killer)

    • I see my friends (facing my friends makes me anxious and I don’t like to be competitive with people I know)

    • I see a P100 Ace (they’re cracked)

    • I see someone I don’t like or people with racist, homophobic, or controversial names

  • You just have to keep losing to become better.

With higher skill ceiling killers like Billy, you cannot expect to go into matches and do well or win against competent players if you don’t have the experience behind playing him. You’re not playing a simple killer like Wraith, he’s hard to learn and get the hang of.

And simply watching streamers who are good at a certain killer can aid in you picking up tips and tricks on certain killers. UncleStanBana is great at Billy and I would recommend him.

But Billy is still a mid killer. You won’t get the same results with him as you would someone like Nurse or Spirit. I’m depressed every time I get something like Hawkins as Billy

  • Doesn’t surprise me because Nurse and Spirit have both received changes over the past few years and Blight is right up there in terms of strength so this is not shocking.

I do expect the changes to be similar how they changed Nurse/Spirit where there are slight base-kit changes and probably more add-on changes. I still expect him to be an S/A tier killer, just not as strong as he currently is :/

Your definition of DM counterplay is essentially the same as telling people in 2018 to just stun or locker juke the Legion.

She has Haste, Undetectable, Tracking and Hindered. She cannot be looped, you MUST hold W or die. Holding W only prolongs the inevitable, which is why Overcome is genuinely S-tier against her.

So is she not supposed to have some sort of a tool to deal with loops and catch survivors and some point in time during chase? Are you supposed to loop her for the entire game?

And 60% of the killer roster cannot be conventionally looped. You hold W against Clown, Pyramid Head, Artist, so why are people so feral over SM when other killers do the exact same thing as her and do it better than she does…

I’m with you, she’s annoying to face and she needs some sort of a rework but people overblow how bad she is due to how bad she was when she launched.

  • @Pulsar said:

Lots of words to say the same thing.

    Place power on loop.

Survivor leaves? They get hit and die.

    Survivor stays? They die.

    Survivors doing gens?

    Place power on gen.

    Hold 3-gen.

Excellent gameplay. She's both old Legion and WORSE. At least Legion matches were over fast. Here we have a Killer that WILL down you, regardless of your skill; who offers one, that's right, ONE whole counterplay, hold W. It's not really a counterplay, since she has Haste, UD and Tracking, but you die a little later so wooooooo. That's the EXACT same thing as old Legion.

Add on top of that, she can still hold 3-gens. Awesome!

She's a borderline skill-absent Killer. A true defintion of anti-loop brainrot and a perfect epitome of what a Killer should not be. Unengaging for all parties. Her best case scenario is a complete redesign ala Freddy.

The difference between old Legion and SM is that Legion was 100% guaranteed a three hit down with Frank’s Mix Tape with zero input from the survivor. All Legion did was stab, stab, fatigue, wait 10 seconds, the stab again and down. And there was zero counterplay because Legion could vault pallets and windows and could whiff a swing but still be in their power.

SM is a glorified M1 killer with a bloated base-kit due to all the status effects, but it’s not a guaranteed hit because you still have pallets and windows to work with and can chain together strong tiles. You have options in a chase. Yeah if she keeps setting up drones then you’re going to eventually get a claw trap, get hindered, and go down but isn’t that the point of the killer’s power that you’re supposed to eventually go down? And someone else also has the ability to hinder you and force you to drop pallets? Clown.

I’m not a SM defender, she’s not fun but she is far from a 100% “guaranteed hit” nor is she as free of a down as 2018 Legion.

  • I feel as though people have a lot of anger toward her because of what she used to be. If SM were released at launch as what she is now, she wouldn’t be as hated. Same reason I still hate Legion and always will is because of old 2018 Frank’s Mix Tape Legion. Some people will hold on to what they used to be and still despise them and I can’t blame people for that.

People DC at the sheer sight of her and don’t try even though she is very beatable. I understand she’s “Status Effect: The Killer” and still not fun to face but neither is like 70% of the killer roster. I don’t like playing against her either but she ain’t going nowhere nor is she probably getting another rework anytime soon :/

She does not. You can still pick up survivors off the ground with them. Slugging with corrupt purge is a strong tactic. If you get injured from corrupt purge you can still heal if not infected.

This is true but more than any other killer in the game, she completely walls a whole category of perks. Perks like We’ll Make It, Botany, Inner Strength, etc are negated. She was the one killer who laughed in the face of old COH and when she sees four med kits it’s just like “meh, I don’t care”.

Even if she does injure with corrupt purge, most Plague players are just gonna wind up puking on you after you get hooked meaning you probably get no med kit or perk value

To tie this into the actual purpose of the post, Lightborn is fine. Especially because it is only to counter blinds which are unnecessary to defend yourself when you have multiple other resources in the map like pallets and windows. Flashlights are just an extra layer of safety which can be taken away just like Plague can take away the safety and efficiency of healing perks.

Most things in this game have a counter and if the killer sees four flashlights and decides to bring Lightborn then they countered you. It is what it is.

  • So would Plague be a flawed design as well since she completely negates the use of med-kits?

  • There’s no reason to fully rework Spirit unless it was to add more clarity to her audio.

As in the while the Spirit is phasing; it would give the same lullaby visual heartbeat you get with Huntress, an actual animation that indicates to the player “Hey, she just started phasing”, and more clear audio on her location while phasing. Sometimes the audio sounds a bit muffled.

Although the Spirit can get cucked by things like no footstep sound effects (I’m looking at you Eyrie of Crow) or general sound just not playing.

The problem is that’s she’s unique and is the killer that relies the most in auditorial queues and your sense of hearing. Which is why I love her because she’s so different that the rest of the roster in terms of tracking. I don’t wanna see her auditorial dependence change.

You cannot give survivors too much info while phasing or it’s just too easy to counter her. Things like seeing her physical body or anything like that should be off the table.

I’m all for accessibility but it can’t be at the expense of making a killer weaker especially when it’s someone who relies on audio more than any other killer in the game

But her actual design and balance is quite strong and more fair than she’s ever been.

  • I’ve been a Spirit main ever since her release and the #1 thing that throws me off is when people are unpredictable and make plays that make no sense.

If you double back against a good Spirit that just results in death and camping pallets is not a smart play but if you run around while she’s phasing and do random movements, that will throw her off especially if the Spirit isn’t experienced. Sometimes even running around in a circle will throw me off.

You have to use the directional audio. Her whole gameplay is auditory. You can’t play against her the same way you would Trapper or Myers.

Also don’t be let down if you are going down quickly, because she’s uber strong. A good Spirit will win most chases quick. You cannot win a 1v1 vs an experienced Spirit. She’s one of the strongest chase killers so you have to have a strong team and win the 1v4.

It’s really up to how good the Spirit is and most of them I’ve run into are bad. I don’t even know why, she isn’t even the hardest killer to play but I rarely run into her and usually they’re not the best at playing her :/

  • He has super problematic add-ons and that’s really all that needs to be changed.

I don’t think he’ll get the Billy treatment per say but I can see them adding in a few small changes to his base kit like not recovering tokens during his fatigue or pallet breaking animations, making token recovery taken slightly longer, etc…

If he did get changes to his base kit, it will probably be more along the lines of how the Spirit change was. He would definitely be knocked down a peg, but there’s still such a huge gap in power level when it comes to Nurse, Blight, and Spirit compared to other killers that he would be fine.

  • Various reasons…

    • The game is unique and no other games plays like it and the core chase mechanics is fun.

    • Playing with friends keeps me entertained. This is probably the prime reason why I still play

    • The amount of money I’ve spent on the game is in the thousands so there is a lot of grind and investment. So much so that I don’t like playing other grindy games because the DBD has such an intense time investment that I don’t want to spend thousands of hours into another grind heavy game.

    • They regularly put out new killers and survivors every season and other new updates in between so the game feels refreshing.

I am on a bit of a hiatus from playing because I’m burnt out, but I sunk more hours into this game than any other game I’ve ever played.

  • It wasn’t in the patch notes that they gave her new animations so I’m assuming it’s a bug.

Plus with her view model being completely out of whack and being able to see her shoulders and most of the length of her arms while phase walking, it’s probably a glitch. There is also another glitch when playing against Spirit that she doesn’t have an actual walking animation when carrying a survivor, she’s just sliding and glitching around so she’s got a big list of visual bugs.

I don’t really mind the animation out of phase walk. It’s very similar to her hand movements when charging up her power but it was a little bit disorienting at times, but so is the new visual bugs that she has :/

  • Legion followed closely by Spirit.

I enjoy most unique chase musics though

  • Even though both of the Red Forest realms have the exact same layout as before, I get confused and lost on the map because it looks so different and I don’t know my way around. One time I was looping the outskirts of the map because I didn’t know where I was and I thought I was near a jungle gym.

Did they add more props to the map? They added more foliage, and it’s kind of hard to tell whether it’s the grass that you can walk through or the grass that has collision. I do think they added more trees as well.

I was honestly thinking this. While even I joke around saying someone has a million dollar headset, this game is SO FREAKING LOUD FOR NO REASON. Every little thing you do is ridiculously loud. If you tried playing with Mac volume in headphones, you would probably go deaf, especially with how Behavior apparently thinks extremely loud chase music is good chase music.

Just look at all the new chase music effects they've released recently and tell me how many of them haven't been ear drum erupting. Even Nurse and Hag's are just constant loud banging of random crap that makes it impossible to hear anything else in chase on BOTH sides.

You definitely have to find a sweet spot. I have my volume at 70% and a lot of times in chase you need higher volume in order to hear certain survivors and footsteps.

Then other actions like kicking pallets or kicking generators or when the chase music kicks in for certain killers, it will start to deafen you and you have to turn down the volume.

It sucks that audio is not uniform, and sometimes you need to turn it up to hear footsteps and survivors and then it’ll blow out your eardrums when you go and do an action like kick a pallet.

I feel as though audio just needs a complete overhaul because it has been a mess for a long time. Things like silent slugs, survivors like Ada/Renato/Thalita being super quiet while Jane/Meg/Ash are uber loud, audio occlusion when it comes to generators in certain spots or footsteps behind walls being silent, and once it was so bad to the point where my entire game was dead silent and I heard no audio at all so I had to restart.

    Pls fix audio.

  • Slinger didn’t even get nerfed into an oblivion like people say he did.

His 1v1 was way too oppressive because he could M2 you before you were able to react. The human brain is not physically capable not had the reaction time to make a play against Slinger’s insta-scope.

Slinger is a fine killer. Billy I can’t defend. His nerf was way too harsh.

  • I don’t have many grievances with Wesker. I think it’s extremely boring to face him over and over again because soooo many people play him and it’s overexposure of seeing him like 57 times a night that make me roll my eyes when I have to see him for the 58th time.

Only two things are that it is way too easy to tunnel and I think the infection should pause if you are in a chase directly after getting unhooked.

Other thing is that you get sucked back over a vault after vaulting and running but the killer’s client registered a grab. Usually you would just get hit and still get a speed boost. It especially sucks if you’re running Lithe.

He’s fairly balanced with some issues but mostly all killers have some form of an issue :/

  • Survivor has been generally very unfun with the way most killers play. Only thing that makes it bearable is playing with friends and suffering with them.

Killer has been the easiest it’s ever been. It’s been quite boring most of the time just winning 80% of matches.

  • Oop. I’m bad at interpreting things. Forgive my idiocy 😭

It’s the fact people are defending spirit when she’s clearly bugged and unfun to play against. blows my mind

    I never “defended” the bug.

Unfun to face has no correlation to whether or not a killer should be kill switched. It’s an audio bug, not a game breaking bug. It’s a bug that definitely needs to be fixed but it’s not necessary to completely kill switch her because this is not a game breaking bad.

Just the fact that you said “unfun to face kind of makes it seem like you have always had beef with this killer.

Especially because there is an update in a week. The update is so close that they’re not going to do anything about this except revert it back to the way it was.

  • Guys just relax. The next update is in a week and I’m sure it’ll be fixed then if this audio bug is causing this much of a stir.
