Nurse as a whole is outdated. She was added to counter infinites back in 2016 so they could just “play Nurse if you hate playing against infinite structures”.
She ignores everything. She’s outdated as they come. Please no more buffs.
-
Not counting Trapper because he should be the one to keep the standard chase music. Also not counting Freddy, Bubba, or Pig because they are licensed. Bubba had his chance to get chase music when he was reworked alongside Billy and it just didn’t happen. Probably didn’t get the rights to do so. And Freddy hasn’t even gotten any cosmetics, you think he is getting chase music?
Wraith, Nurse, Hag, Huntress, and Plague are the only ones without chase music. I’d love for all of them to get unique chase music. It makes them have more personality and more enjoyable to face. Only thing is that I can’t foresee any of them getting changes any time soon so there is no big reason for them to give them chase music :/
-
The reason for picking Spirit is simple, because you can’t physically see what she’s doing so there is no pinpoint evidence that she is a bot.
Every other killer you could see what they are doing. You can clearly tell if a Trapper or Myers is a bot but Spirit is invisible. You cannot physically see her while she is phasing so it is harder for people to come to the conclusion that it’s a bot.
Even then you can use clues to tell if she’s a bot. Looking at the end game screen and seeing that she doesn’t have Cherry Blossom yet still always knew your precise location and immediately swinging out of phase when you produced zero audio cues is very suspicious. Same goes with how fast she catches up and she doesn’t have a movement speed add-on.
Plus you can tell human reactions and movements compared to that of a bot.
It’s a shame really because she’s my most played killer and now she has the stigma of being a bot 💀

Not really, as a plague main its more of maintaining momentum and micro-management in which case a good plague knows when to drop a chase and when to be extremely aggressive, It's all boils down to map awareness and capitalizing survivor's mistakes, if you can down 2 people with just one pool inside a deadzone you practically won the game.
Spirit on the otherhand is just much easier to control but harder to play as in high mmr, aside from your predictable sound cue, good survivors tend to not let themselves get hit in the first place, they'll drag it on for a long time and it basically a game of pin the tail on the dunky until one of you messes up and a healthy survivor with a pallet is practically untouchable until he drops the pallet. also sprint burst and self-aware is a thing too.
Artist is just meh, unpredictable survivors are hard to catch as they'll do everything to avoid getting hit by the birds which are also easy to predict. get in the locker or just press w.
What you said about Plague is a very general consensus for most killers. You should always know when to drop chase and when to be aggressive and have map awareness (like managing a three gen and not leaving to go chase in an area with no gens). That is with all killers, not just Plague.
Spirit has a sound cue but it’s not super predictable. It’s directional but she’s moving so fast that at certain pallet loops you’re just dead. Can’t outplay a killer that is moving nearly double your speed that you can’t see. Plus she can use that to her advantage and put her phasing sound on one side of the pallet and do a quick double back and you have no reaction time for that. And why Sprint Burst and Fixated? Dead Hard is way stronger and you don’t know Fixated to help with scratches because most good survivors know when to stop running and where their scratch marks are going.

She's not quite as bonkers as people make her out to be - the issue is that some of her addons are straight busted on top of a very strong kit (Blight has the same issue).
Nurse isn't a killer you 2k on. You either 4k or 0k, as above a certain MMR every survivor has played against a dozen nurses better than you are. She's...streaky.
Watch Otz's Nurse streak if you want to see what I mean. He had an easier time with Doctor.
The major reason I don't play much Nurse is that her mechanics don't translate well to other killers, and after a few days on Nurse I'll find that I'm much worse on anyone that isn't Nurse.
Pinhead is definitely worth a try. He's hard to play and not the most powerful killer in the game, but he's fun. Landing a god-tier chain is an amazing feeling (my absolute finest moment was curving a chain through shack door, out shack window and interrupting a survivor solving the cube outside).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2857124#Comment_2857124
I'm just not good on ranged killers, with Nemmy being the exception. She is also overplayed, which turns me off.
Let me change what I said…
If you are good with Nurse you plain out just win if you have her busted range add-ons (especially now because she’s bugged). Same goes with Blight and Spirit’s busted add-ons.
Nurse players who are really good win 95% of their matches with no fear of losing and that’s what turns me off about Nurse. I like playing DBD and Nurse plays her own game.
And hasn’t Otz said that he wasn’t the greatest with Nurse? He’s a very good killer don’t get me wrong, but he never claimed to be great with Nurse.

Camping Trickster is still the same as camping Bubba. He'll get 1k, maybe 2 and that's it. If it's high MMR play, people will just slam out gens and get out.
CoH is obnoxious, but I find that it's only truly painful on attrition based killers.
Artist - Otz managed a 30 streak on her, and under SBMM - that's quite an achievement. And he doesn't fully abuse DMS or run BBQ/MS on her (which turn her into a force of nature).
Legion I'd say 'D' tier. He was bad before and sucks worse now, CoH destroys him.
Ghostface has some issues, but his ability to instadown and a very strong camp makes him pretty decent into CoH. He used to struggle at higher MMRs as so many people ran stretched res, but they don't now. I play a decent GF and CoH doesn't scare me. Corn scares me.
Freddy I'd almost want to send to 'D' tier, simply because he's so one dimensional and predictable.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2857108#Comment_2857108
I agree - but Plague right now plays best with a lot of info perks. Retribution+Plaything+Pentimento is gorgeous on her.
Passive phasing...nah, not really.
I'd put Spirit as a solid 'A' tier killer, probably in the middle of the pack. She isn't as oppressive as Artist can be and doesn't have Plague's snowball, but she's still a great killer.
I’m so glad Plague is getting recognition of being a great killer. I’ve always loved playing as her and she’s been a main killer of mine since her release.
But ahead of Spirit? Eh, I just can’t see that. Those are my two main killers and I’ve never thought to myself that Plague was better. In a lot of scenarios, Plague can’t do much at pallet loops with teams who stay injured and all have Dead Hard. Sure you have at least one pool but you have to make a good use out of it and hope it isn’t all the way in Antarctica.
Spirit is still borderline uncounterable without Iron Will and even if you do have Iron Will she can still hear grass rustling and short phasing bursts are key to playing against Iron Will. You can definitely confuse her and throw her off but I really don’t see any difference in facing a Spirit now compared to pre-nerf other than it feeling more fair when I get downed and knowing that she is coming in my direction rather than her just popping up. And this is coming from someone who never takes off Iron Will.
Artist is good. Really good. Top tier good. But her counterplay is predictable and boring. Survivors do the only thing they can do and that is leave every loop. Leading to a hold W meta and stale gameplay. She is great at shutting down loops and is the single best killer to do that other than Nurse. But most of the time she isn’t able to do that because competent survivors are not staying at loops with her.

I'd say that Cenobite is worth learning, because he's pretty rare and a lot of fun to play once you get a feel for him. His sound design alone is worth the effort. Aim the chain spawner directly at their feet and you'll generally land it.
Nurse...if you want to 3k groups that you'd probably get 1k against usually - learn her. Otherwise, I get tired of her fast. And I wouldn't play her on console.
Pinhead I could definitely give a shot at trying.
I am on console but I’ve seen good console Nurse players and I really don’t think it would be as hard as people think to play her on console. Just sinking in many hours playing her seems so tedious and not to mention that once you are good with her there is just no competition. You just….win. No fear of anything. It seems so boring.

I just feel that Spirit's Power is average because it has a pretty long forced cooldown and she's basically useless while its on cooldown at 110. What made her strong was having a much easier time getting the second hit once the Survivor was injured. Now she doesn't have that, so the risk to reward ratio is off. I just feel her margin for error is really thin nowadays. Iron Will is one of the most common perks at high level for a reason
Messing up a power usage on Spirit is much more punishing than any of the higher rated Killers and its probably the easiest its ever been to make mistakes on her because Survivors have more information than ever and you have less
There is always some kind of mistake and punishment for messing up your power.
Blight has to wait for his rushes to come back.
Bubba has charges.
Artist has a cooldown.
Huntress has to refill her hatchets at lockers as well as Trickster refilling blades.
Nurse has charges and a fatigue.
Oni and Plague sometimes might not even get any value out of their power due to stealth.
Yes Spirit has a 15 second cooldown but most decent Spirit players don’t use their entire power gauge. Most do short phasing bursts. Plus even if she is a 110% at loops, her passive phasing can throw survivors off.
And survivors DO have more information on her like directional phasing but she is moving way too fast for them to react picture perfect all of the time.
-
In no way shape or form is Spirit anything lower than A tier.
Even with Iron Will and Shadow Step (which most people do not run Shadow Step) the power in a chase is all on her.
Huntress is good, but not the third best. She is way too map dependent.
Bubba in A tier? I guess now the grass is blue.
-
Billy, Blight, Nurse, Pinhead, and Trickster.
If I put time and effort into Nurse and Pinhead I know I can play them but I just don’t have the willpower to do so :/
I’m on console so the recoil and constant spamming of the power button for Trickster is what makes me not wanna play him. If I wanna play a ranged killer it feels as though Huntress is much easier.
I just can’t play Billy or Blight and their playstyle is just not my cup of tea.
-
One reason I dislike facing him is because he is one of the most console unfriendly killers.
Due to the fact that you can’t really change your key binds on console (you can change a lot of your key binds but all of the actions like healing, vaulting, and throwing a pallet are tied to one button) a lot of times you’ll be trying to remove the chains and you end up slow vaulting a pallet.
I don’t really have an issue with chain hunts because you can easily deny a chain hunt but in solo queue it’s awful. I don’t really ever play solo queue though :/
-
Yep. Me too. I got the adept for Sadako on my first match. It popped in the top right of my screen but I look at my trophy list and it wasn’t there so it is clearly a bug.
Don’t worry, all of us PS4 players have this bug. It says 0.0% of players have earned all of the trophies for this chapter.
I just hope we don’t have to re-earn them 😭
-
You lost me when you lumped Spirit in the M1 killer category that can be “looped and juked”
-
It just a matter of preference. People are going to like different things.
Nurse I believe is the single most unfair BS thing in the game because she ignores all survivor defenses and against a Nurse who know exactly what they are doing, the match outcome is already pre-determined and it’s boring as hell because you can’t do anything about it as a survivor. It doesn’t matter if Nurse takes “skill”, it’s still always going to be boring going against a Nurse with a lot of hours.
But not a lot of Nurse players are like that so a majority of Nurse matches are your typical average match. So I usually don’t mind Nurse.
Pinhead is a snoozefest. There are no redeeming qualities that make him “fun” in a chase. He is a slowdown killer which is already in itself not my cup of tea. I dislike killers like Pinhead, Clown, and Freddy because most of the time you just have to pre drop pallets. There is just nothing “fun” about Pinhead to me and that’s just a preference of mine.
Nemesis is okay. Not my most favorite but he is kinda just….there. I’m tired of seeing him because I see him played so often. A lot of his players for some reason play like the biggest sweat buckets in the world but that isn’t a Nemesis gameplay problem.
TL:DR, because people just like to face different characters and it’s a matter of preference.

Cheesy.... as hell. Me and my friend @MegMain98 have started to fear going against Myers now because, legit, 90% of the time they have Tombstone. I guess we must've pissed the cult of Myers players off one day and now every time they see us they say "welp, it's Tombstone time"! xD
I just saw this thread and I was legit about to tag you in it.
Apparently we upset the most top tier Myers player and they rallied the troops and it’s like “if you see these two chuckleheads, it’s Tombstone time. Got it?”
This isn’t a “har har funny funny” meme either. I swear we go against Tombstone 80% of the time. The other 20% is insta T3 or infinite T3 🙃
-
Nurse for both.
Console Nurse is harder to become decent with but she’s still arguably the strongest and will always be the strongest.
People are confusing strength with how easy they are to play. In terms of ease to play that would be Spirit…for both
-
It feels underwhelming to play as and against her because you just….leave the loop.
She isn’t able to use her power because survivors leave the loop (which is the smart thing to do) and she feels like she isn’t using her power and her downs come from basic M1 attacks.
Survivors also do not feel good about just leaving the loop and have no kind of cool interactions with the killer.
I personally believe Oni and Plague are the most well designed killers.
-
You already know I’m hoping for an Alien chapter 🤞🏽
-
Both have their pros and cons and it depends on your gameplay.
Myers is better at snowballing the entire team and getting downs quicker because of faster vaulting and a longer lunge in T3. Although he is worse at stealth because of the slower movement speed and short lunge in T1. Not to mention limited stalk whilst GF has unlimited stalk.
Ghostface is better at being sneaky and has unlimited stalk on people but can’t capitalize as well as Myers because of being a typical killer who has nothing that he can do at strong tiles whilst Myers has the fast vault/linger lunge.
Both are underwhelming but it depends on the playstyle. At their absolute strongest, Myers is better because of his stronger add-ons.
-
Any killer can be annoying with the right playstyle.
Typically the most annoying killers to me tend to be Doctor and Legion.
Doctor because you are constantly screaming and getting denied vaults and pallets. Also due to the fact that a lot run Iri King and you have to spend time snapping out of tier 3 madness with no idea of his whereabouts.
Legion is tedious especially with the Legion Pin add-on. The best play is typically to stay injured or you waste a lot of time healing. I do not like mending simulator.
Huntress tends to be annoying too due to latency issues.
-
She wasn’t nerfed into the ground and is still an extremely strong killer. She can actually use the directional audio to her advantage.
At some pallets she can phase to one side and double back quicker that the survivor can react because she is moving so fast. So that is one neat thing you can do.
It’s really only Iron Will that counters her very hard. And I don’t wanna hear anyone say “Just listen for footsteps!” Because most survivors with Iron Will will not run as soon as you begin phasing so you have zero audio to work with because the survivor emits no breathing sound while injured with Iron Will, so unless it is a heavily grassy area you are just guessing.
The only thing that makes her pretty easy mode is MDR and Cherry Blossom. I used it to try and get the Prowler achievement (but it’s bugged) and yeah….uh, those matches were super easy. I would argue that MDR and Amulet is still a better combo.
-
Top 5 for me….
- Spirit
- Plague
- Oni
- Huntress
- Nemesis
-
Darn. I wish me and @Cornpopers_Evan saw more Hag. He would love that 😭
-
Top 5:
- Blight
- Nemesis
- Huntress
- Bubba
- Wraith

Eyrie...I'll have to see what it looks like in game. At first glance it seems a little 'plain'.
Coldwind - really depends on the spawns. Some variations can be pretty enjoyable, some can be tooth-grindingly annoying.
I love the look of the map. It’s different. I love the sand and the fact that it looks like you’re inside of a painting with the ink dripping upwards. It’s so cool looking.
Coldwind can be a pain to play on sometimes but speaking purely from an aesthetic standpoint, I love the fact that it is a daytime map and it looks so much different from any other map.
-
Speaking purely for aesthetics.
Top 3:
- Ormond
- Coldwind
- Eyrie of Crows
Midwich and Lery’s come close as well
Bottom 3:
- Swamp
- Haddonfield
- Springwood
-
Speaking for the survivor role, most people find the chases the most enjoyable part because the interaction with the killer is why you play survivor. Sticking your face in gens and holding M1 tends to lead to boring gameplay. However some people would rather do that if they dislike chases with certain killers.
Speaking for the killer role, it all depends on what killer you are, the map, and what structure it is. A regular M1 killer will dislike chases at structures like the house of pain/fake basement, the Disturbed Ward main building, and sometimes even long walls. While a killer like Nurse/Spirit would like a chase anywhere.
And other than Nurse, no killer likes chases on The Game unless you like playing pallet kicking simulator.
-
Any killer with a ranged ability. Huntress, Slinger, Plague, and Pyramid Head all feel satisfying. Especially Plague and PH due to the possibility of downing multiple survivors at once.
-
Easily Plague
-
It’s because of the “survival” category. You don’t get many points per match in that category.
There is very little to do in a match that rewards points in the survival category. It either requires you to face a specific killer that rewards survival points (Trickster, Nemesis, Slinger, Trapper, Pinhead) or the only other things are healing yourself and unhooking yourself. Then using perks like Built to Last and DS also reward points in the survival category.
Escaping rewards 5000 points and if you escape as the obsession you get an extra 1500 points so unless you escape as the obsession, you probably aren’t maxing out.
You can easily max out points in the other three categories but the survival category will usually cause you to not get as many BP as killers do. That is why I use WGLF.
-
Yep. Just happened to me after a killer game. I was confused and thought November really just passed me by.
-
Don’t know what you mean. I love wasting a minute of my time traversing a map the size of Jupiter as a low mobility killer.
It’s not very good for survivors either because they have to spend a great deal of time crossing the map to go save their teammate on the opposite side.
Big maps are just a time waster for both sides and not needed.
I’m looking at you Red Forest and RPD.
-
I’ve mained Spirit ever since her released. I’ve always loved everything about her and nothing has changed. I don’t play her as often though because I usually cycle through what killers I play because I play around 70% of the roster on rotation.
Just haven’t been playing as much especially now due to infinite loading screens and me being burnt out.
-
Any killer can be enjoyable or annoying depending on how they play.
Usually I dislike Wraith and Pig though. I very strongly dislike Pig as of recent.
-
Spirit is by far the easier killer to pick up and play.
But Nurse is still by far the better killer. If a console player puts effort into mastering her then they will be rewarded. Nurse is still the better and best killer on any platform.
-
A killer with a grapple hook that can latch onto the environment and pull themselves toward whatever they please.
-
Basically all of Spirit’s sounds
• Her katana materializing back into her hand.
• The bassy sound when she begins a phase.
• The hissing sound when her power recharges.
• The glass sound effects when beginning to phase.
• The soft sound of her whooshing from her end.
I also really love Plague’s chanting when she has Corrupt Purge.
Demo’s power recharge sound is similar to a submarine so I like that as well.
The sound of Trickster’s weapon.
I also really like the sound of chains so Pinhead is a given.

Actually survivors could use their brain, problem is survivors couldn't change their plsystyle and take risks to figure out counterplay. Kinda like fighting games. You have to take risks to get somewhere.
Yes Spirit still has speed, but that speed is useless when survivors have ears and can pinpoint your location and can act accordingly. Or in other words, the speed is pointless if survivors are receiving too much information in the moment.
At most pallet loops, it really doesn’t matter if you can pinpoint her location because she’s moving significantly faster than you.
Her speed is absolutely a factor in whether or not she can catch you because she can use the audio to her advantage to make you run in the opposite direction and then she can double back at the loop faster than you can react because she’s moving that fast.
It doesn’t matter at a lot of loops because she’s going to outpace you if she’s using audio to herd you in the opposite direction.

You left out the most important part where I said that you are literary matched with all kinds of survivors, that is why you don't make an opinion of how strong killer is on the PTB, not because of changes that might or might not come when the patch is released to live
and my opinion is not based on how people performed vs me while I played her, my opinion is based on the information that I as a survivor get when facing her & also it was obvious that this change would be really really bad just from reading the patch notes
And that is true! But don’t forget you’re also matched with people who are testing Spirit and don’t play her often. Most people are the PTB are not people who play Spirit often.
She wasn’t great in her first initial 2018 PTB not only because of directional audio but a combo of other factors that she got buffs on and people have now accustomed themselves to Spirit and are more than comfortable with her. Directional audio will not be as big of a deal as it was in 2018 and will not affect most Spirit players because they’re already pretty comfy and good at playing her.
Just don’t jump to conclusions. People thought Nurse was “gutted”. No. She’s still Nurse. People thought Billy was “gutted” and still think he is which I highly disagree with. People thought Twins were terrible (to be fair they released with a lot of bugs) and look at them now.
Point is that think can always change and people can find ways to be good at any killer that isn’t Burger King Myers.
-
Spirit and Plague
Plague pukes on the survivors leading to very easy tracking for Spirit. So Iron Will is useless.
If the survivors cleanse then Plague gets her bazooka juice. So it’s a lose-lose.

imagine making opinion on how powerful killer is based on ptb where you are matched with all kinds of survivors and most of them are bad
every killer is good against bad survivors
You said “Imagine making an opinion on how powerful a killer is based on the PTB”.
As you clearly just made your opinion on how powerful you think that a specific killer is based on the PTB….
Let people have their opinions
-
Spirit is going to be just fine. She’s going to play the exact same from her POV. All that this is doing is giving survivors some form of counterplay. You will barely notice a different while playing Spirit. The survivor is still going to go down relatively quickly to a decent Spirit, it’s just gonna feel like a more fair and justified down.
I don’t know why people think this change is gutting her. She’s still moving significantly faster than the survivors and can catch up at a majority of the loops.
Spirit is still gonna be a super strong killer, just not as broken as she was previously.
-
Referring to just the default weapons…
Has to be Spirit. It’s very unique in the fact that her weapon is inside of her hand, it materializes back into her hand on a successful hit, and also who doesn’t love a katana?
She also uses her weapon for everything. Breaking a gen, breaking a pallet, breaking a door, closing the hatch, etc….
I love the uniqueness of her weapon and the fact that she uses it for every animation she has.
Trickster and Plague are a close second and third.

Pinhead has way too high of a skill cap for how little reward he gets 😭
Slinger DOES take a bit of skill but I don’t think he’s at the very top. That instant ADS isn’t really a DBD skill per se, it’s more so “are you familiar with a shooting style game”.
Huntress, Nurse, and Blight are much more in depth than Slinger is :/
-
I waited in killer queues for like 5 minutes yesterday so I assume a mixture of your SBMM ranking and the fact that Pinhead was just releasee could be making your queues longer than normal.
However my nighttime queues were still pretty quick.
-
Ah yes, let’s nerf the distance even though on console it freezes your game for a second and you do a baby dash and go maybe 2 meters.
But yes, let’s nerf the distance even though that’s what makes the perk worth using.
-
Nurse is the best because she’s Nurse and can snowball whenever she feels like it.
Plague, Oni, and Myers all have a short period of time where they can snowball extremely well.
Huntress is good at snowballing especially with either Infantry Belt or both haft add-ons.
Twins are also great as well.

S Tier? She can’t hear footsteps and Iron Will is very common, so basically every game she’s facing invisible survivors while phasing. Scratch marks aren’t reliable enough to use her power vs an Iron Will user.
Players shouldn’t be required to have the hearing ability of a dolphin to play her at a normal level.
It has nothing to do with having good hearing because there is no sound to hear. There is no footstep sounds to possibly hear but as I have heard, they are working on a fix.
She’s still playable but it’s frustrating when you have no audio cues to work with :/
