I believe Blight and Wraith are only complained about because people lose to them. They’re not issues at all.
Blight I only have an issue with because I see him constantly and I’m tired of seeing him and every Blight runs the same tired build that you expect from all of them. It’s so predictable. Overall I find him not a very fun killer but he doesn’t need any changes besides Alchemist Ring.
Wraith I just despise his playstyle. I’ve ALWAYS hated Wraith even back in 2018. I hate hit and run and that’s Wraith in a nutshell. He’s honestly not that different than Spirit besides the fact that you can see Wraith and attempt to use counterplay. Both go invisible (Wraith only past 24 meters), both have an omega lunge out of their power, and both have good map traversal abilities. Spirit just has less counterplay due to the fact that you’re guessing.
I’m not saying Blight and Wraith need huge changes but people are seeing them A LOT more and they don’t particualry have the more enjoyable playstyles :/
-
The changed Stridor and Iron Will is a meta perk that makes Stridor useless. So there’s more you can attempt to do in a chase. Not to mention that she’s bugged all to hell and can’t hear footsteps so a survivor with Iron Will is dead silent while phasing. She’s not that big of a deal at her current state.
The increase of Blight and Wraith have become more of an annoyance toward players.
-
I’m not gonna say I’m a great looper but things to look for…
- What killer are you going against? Some killer you can greed pallets with more than others.
- CONNECT TILES TOGETHER. Don’t just loop one tile and then drop the pallet. If you have a long wall jungle gym connected to shack then use that to your advantage.
- Watch how others play survivor.
- Play killer. You can get an idea of how good survivors are looping you and see what pathing they take and then take their looping formula and use it when you play survivor.
-
In no particular order….
- BBQ
- Nurse’s Calling
- Shadowborn
- Brutal Strength
- Infection Fright
- Pop Goes The Weasel
- Monitor And Abuse
-
Plague and Trickster
-
Wraith and Ghostface because they pretty much get free first hits and the stealth playstyle is my weakness as survivor.
That is pretty much most matches but I’m sure mostly everyone “weakest killer” to face is a Nurse that knows what they are doing. Pretty much nobody can combat that.

But that's impossible with PS4 trophy list though, they can't just be edited so that's confusing
If it is impossible to get then Sony will change the trophy requirements. They did it with Legion when their trophy was impossible to get after their rework.
-
Some killers have HARD adepts because they’re just bad at getting emblems. Plague, Billy, and Myers all pop into mind. Some killers easily double pip like Legion while others suffer.
When they implement MMR and everyone resets back to rank 20, it’ll be a lot more forgiving to double pip.
I have all of the adepts currently but if I get a PS5, I’ll have to redo them all again so that’ll be torturous 😭
-
Definitely Pyramid Head. I know a lot of people think Freddy is better but I feel as though he is slightly overrated. PH takes the cake on this one. Wish he had more cake though :(
-
I feel as though they BARELY got a change. Every time I play them I do fine.
-
-
A nautical themed killer or like a “Creature from the Black Lagoon” type killer, yes I can see them adding. But they have to be able to chase on land.
I’d LOVE a nautical theme chapter.
-
Only reason you think that is because Meg is a free character so a majority of new players are going to either gravitate toward Meg or Claudette since they have very beginner friendly perks and they are free to play.
Thinking that “all Megs are bad” is like saying “all characters with unnatural color hair and bright outfits are only looking to bully the killer”. You can’t base someone’s skill on the survivor they are playing because survivors are just skins. Nothing special. My IQ isn’t going to increase if I play Nea instead of Meg. It makes no sense.
-
The reason Billy isn’t picked is because he is a hard killer that you have to sink some time into to play well and a LOT of maps are terrible for him.
Only reason people picked him is because of old insta saw which made him super easy and forgiving to play. Anyone could play that.
His overheat mechanic was barely a nerf and I cringe every time people say Billy was gutted. He is still basically the same.
I don’t think he needed an overheat mechanic but let’s stop saying he is gutted. Because he’s not.

No it's just her power is designed so poorly she is on the bare edge of needing a complete rework or addon pass/nerf. Way to just assume it's because of salt and not because of gameplay design btw, really mature.
You can’t really play the “you’re being immature” card when you said that you could not care less about people who simply play a specific character that you don’t like…
I’m just saying 🤷🏽♂️

Let me just list all the killers and whether or not they are “boring” to me.
Trapper- Can be boring as hell.
Wraith- There is no chase interaction. It’s cloak, uncloak, omega lunge, hit, cloak again, rinse, and repeat. Wraith doesn't chase. A snoozefest.
Billy- Very interactive while also being a threat. I love Billy.
Nurse- I like her as long as it isn’t a very good player.
Myers- As long as it isn’t Scratched Mirror.
Hag- Meh. She’s okay
Doctor- Can be annoying but is decent.
Huntress- Not boring but frustrating due to wonky hatchet hits.
Bubba- Same as Billy
Freddy- Not particularly the most enjoyable experience but I won’t complain.
Pig- Another case of not boring but frustrating due to an insane amount of Pig players because trap tunnelers.
Clown- The definition of the word boring.
Spirit- Uninteractive, but not boring. More like a “darn should’ve played better”
Legion- Boring. I hate mending simulator.
Plague- She’s fun
Ghostface- Basically same as Wraith but just not as good.
Demogorgon- Fun
Oni- Fun
Deathslinger- Not boring as in I’m falling asleep but insanely unfun.
Pyramid Head- He’s decent
Blight- I personally dislike Blight and find him unfun but he isn’t a boring killer. Most players run the same exact build leading to predictable gameplay. Making all Blight matches feel the same. There is no variety to this character.
Twins- Can be depending on the playstyle. Most Twins like to slug meaning you’re sitting on the ground admiring floor graphics for a long time.
Trickster- He’s okay
Nemesis- He’s okay
I don’t find most killers boring as in I’m about to fall asleep, but a lot of them are either frustrating or just not enjoyable to face. I wouldn’t say boring though.

I mean... Losing her hearing is pretty much all her tracking as she can't see survivors. Sure, there's scratchmarks but those aren't reliable, at least not in the current state of the game. They're pretty much all over the place.
We'll see though
Just adding on the what you said…
Sound is the huge focal point of her power. Yes she can see scratch marks, or grass moving, or corn moving; but none of these are as reliable as actual audio like breathing, footsteps, and grunts of pain.
And all of the reliable audio is completely deleted with Iron Will. No breathing. No grunts of pain. And for some reason now it’s bugged that there’s no footsteps. The grunts of pain part is obviously fine because that’s in the description of the perk but I still think that survivor should make breathing sounds with this perk.
I don’t want Spirit to be a complete guessing game. Neither on her side where she has little information to work with and she’s just guessing on where to land after phasing or the survivor side where they have a lack of information of what she’s doing and are flipping a coin.
Making Spirit have just as much of a lack of information as survivors have is not the way to “fix her”.
-
I don’t believe that would be the reason why her playrate would drop.
Not hearing footsteps while phasing however….might drop it
-
I heard that was also in the PTB. Is that supposed to be intentional?
-
I don’t think the perk needs a timer. They just need to make it so survivors actually make the same breathing sounds they always make and panting sounds when running.
-
It’s a legitimate complaint because the perk just doesn’t work most of the time. It freezes you in place then you baby Dead Hard. That’s the perk. It didn’t always do this but it’s done this even before the recent FPS issues on console.
Let console players voice their complaints about a perk not working properly. Pretty sure if a perk was only bugged on PC then there would be an uproar.
-
If your definition of “playing fair” is 12 hooks, no slugging, no camping, and no tunneling then absolutely not against good survivors. You have to know when to do these things, especially slugging. You just can’t generate enough pressure by downing one survivor, then immediately picking up and hooking.
But my definition of “playing fair” is just playing the game without cheating and using exploits. So you wanna camp, slug, tunnel, or anything people hate facing, then it’s all fair play.
Sometimes survivors also have to play in a relatively unfun or sweaty way to win against some killers as well but it’s still fair play.
-
I’d love Xenomorph for a licensed chapter.
I also want some kind of sea-creature/nautical killer. The bubbly sound the new Spirit outfit makes, has really made me want a killer like that.

Hawkins yes, and maybe original dead dog, but now survivors send me there intentionally because in order to have a chance I have to pretend I'm the Kool-aid man for the first five minutes to make the loops even remotely able to be ended.
The only true killer sided maps at this point are:
Hawkins
Shelter Woods
The Game Maybe depending on the Killer.
Meanwhile every killer groans when we see.
Any McMillan Estate map
Any Autohaven Map
Any Coldwind Map
Midwich (I'll concede I think survivors hate this one almost as much as killers do)
Lampkin Lane
Badham Pre-School
The game is survivor sided if we're talking similar ranked killers and survivors. 4 red rank survivors, even in solo queue, are at an advantage against a red rank killer.
True except Autohaven and MacMillan. I love these maps as killer.
I groan inside when I see Badham or any indoor map as killer.
-
I can usually find totems but most of the time I hear them before physically see them. Sometimes I hear them on the other side of walls and through floors but not everyone is super attentive to their surroundings or know totem spots.
-
I P3’d all perks on Yun-Jin and ended up with 85. She isn’t my main though.
I have 100 on Spirit. Gonna be getting more cakes on her tonight.
-
As someone who enjoys Autohaven and MacMillan as killer and would love to only have those maps, that is a bad idea.
Playing Huntress on indoor maps is torture and most killers on Had-No-Fun is torture but sometimes you just gotta play on those maps. That’s just the luck of the draw.
Closest we will ever get to disabling some maps for killers are Sacrificial Wards.
-
Probably a little cartoon chibi of a character I frequently play.

"Kinda"
And I was merely making a comment about onis ability literally being to slug. You chose to bring an example of getting slugged at 5 gens which almost every time is caused by an idiotic team.
Yes his ability is very slug heavy. So is Twins. And Myers. And Billy. And Bubba (to an extent). And Nurse. Having a slugging ability doesn’t mean that they’ll usually slug all survivors at 5 gens. Most people wanna drag out the game for points.
But slugging with four cakes on an Autohaven map at five gens AND letting the last survivor bleed out while standing on their body is pretty damn sweaty in my book. Just saying ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When was the last time you played?

The +0.25 seconds doesn't even do much. I'm 95% sure that removing it wouldn't do much, and you'd still hate Wraith. You were talking about the lunge itself earlier, not the speed boost that leads to the lunge, but whatever.
Spoiler alert: I’ve always hated Wraith, even when he was bad. He’s not my cup of tea. He’s uninteractive due to the hit and run style everyone uses. Nothing wrong with this, it’s just not enjoyable for me personally.
The speed boost leads into a larger window of time that the Wraith can perform the lunge so it’s a larger distance the Wraith can cover. You’re right, the lunge itself wasn’t increased but the speed boost makes it so he covers more ground so he can still catch up to you quicker, just don’t think that needed a change.
Again, this is the only change I’d want for Wraith.
And if it wouldn’t revering the speed boost back to 1 second wouldn’t do much in your opinion then why does it matter so much that this is a change I suggested? Because you said “let’s not make Wraith trash tier again”. I don’t see this change would make Wraith trash tier.
-
@glitchboi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2363882#Comment_2363882
Yeah you've made your point about his lunge distance, let's switch to why you want him nerfed.
He has so much counterplay, let's not make him trash tier again please.
His lunge has always been the same btw. His uncloak speed boost was increased from 1 second to 1.25 seconds, but that didn't affect the lunge itself. Old Wraith with purple windstorm would have an exact same lunge.
And what does the extra speed boost when uncloaking do exactly? Gives him a larger window of time to hit an extendo lunge. I just personally believe it’s too much of a time window. That is legit the only change I’d want. It’s not even that big of a change nor would it make him trash tier.
The only reason Wraith was bottom of the barrel is because he was dependent on Windstorm to make him not painfully slow while cloaked. The speed boost after uncloaking did not need a change.
Agree to disagree because I’m not changing my stance on the fact that I believe the speed boost after uncloaking/lunge is too forgiving for Wraith.

Play him at highest level and you will see how easy you can make him suffer. Getting all of the pallets out of the way is enough time for a good team to do 5 gens. He's a noob destroyer for sure, but good survivors will play it safe and run to nearby loops as soon as they recognize him. Mindgaming them is also very hard, which means you have to shred most pallets. You have no ranged attack which could help you playing around this and the speed boost has only high value on some very unsafe loops. Playing around this by "hit&run" only works if your ambushes are successful, if not you have wasted a lot of time. He's definitely better than before, his mobility, missing TR, versatility (you can run many different perk builds with him) and strong add-ons make him viable, but he's far from being OP or S-tier.
Sure you’ll play him at the highest and get destroyed. Just like any other killer that isn’t named Nurse. You really can’t use “play x killer at the highest level” when 90% of game are causal and people are playing for fun not to sweat. ANY killer killer except Nurse and maybe Spirit and Blight are getting destroyed at the highest level.
Still doesn’t change the fact that at the causal level he is easy to play and is strong enough to hold his own. Nothing wrong with that. You want an easy to play killer that is pretty strong? Play Wraith. That’s why everyone wants to play him. There is no thinking involved with his power. Just cloak and uncloak. That’s it.
-
@glitchboi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2363683#Comment_2363683
I don't think Wraith is trash tier. I still think he's barely average because of his high amount of counterplay.
Also, if he isn't as good as Huntress or Demo then why do you want him nerfed? His entire power is built around his long lunge attack. The only thing people want him to get is a nerf/rework to "All Seeing" - Blood.
He isn’t as good as Huntress and Demo at SHACK but my point wasn’t about how good Wraith is at shack, I was only comparing his lunge to the length of shack, that is it. How good Wraith is at shack has nothing to do with why I think his lunge should be decreased.
His lunge is just a bit too long. So was Spirit’s lunge with add-ons, which is why it was decreased. His lunge is way too forgiving.
-
* Probably the easiest killer to pick up and play
* Has map mobility
* Is not map dependent
* Has a lunge that can shut down a lot of loops
* Can sneak up on survivors
* Gets the first hit very easily
* Incentivizes the survivors to heal. Making them waste time healing so they don’t get snuck up on by an easy first hit.
* Can shred through pallets with specific add-ons.
This is why a lot of people are playing Wraith. Why not play him when he’s so damn easy and strong?

He sucks ass at shack, dunno what you're on about.
I never stated that he was a good killer at shack. I was just making a comparison to how long the lunge is. You could uncloak at the doorway and lunge at the window and still hit the survivor, that’s how long the lunge is. Never anywhere in my statement did I say “Wraith is a good killer at shack”.
He isn’t as good at Huntress or Demogorgon but he doesn’t “suck ass” like you think he does.

Adding a cooldown or reducing his lunge would kill him along with having a cooldown on his stealth defeats his entire purpose as he would then just be an objectively worse version of the spirit(Not that he isn't one now).
Reducing his lunge wouldn’t kill him. His lunge covers basically all of shack. Do you not think that’s just a little too much?
Not saying they should just remove the lunge, but just tone it down a little bit. They did the same thing with Spirit’s two lunge add-ons and Wraith has basically that lunge without the use of add-ons.
-
Out of all of DBD’s history it’s gotta be old Legion. That was the definition of zero counterplay. The DC rate was through the roof. So yeah…it’s Legion.
People do hate Spirit, BUT a lot of people also love her playing her and her aesthetic as well so she is a loved and hated character. Same with Nurse.
Nowadays, Twins are arguably just hated by everyone. So for current most hated killer I’m going with Twins.
-
I didn’t really care for the killer’s POV chase music. Doctor and Myers were probably the two I didn’t mind.
Oni’s wasn’t as good as his chase music from the survivor’s POV.
And Demo’s version from his POV was just bad. I hated his.
-
No he isn’t OP at all. I’ve personally never liked his gameplay, he is very uninteractive because it goes like this “sneak up on survivor, uncloak, hit with an omega lunge, cloak, and run away.” It’s hit and run so you barely have any chase interaction with him.
The cloaked speed boost and “true invisibility” really make Wraith strong because you only have a 24 meter distance to spot a killer that is moving pretty fast, hard to see to begin with, and gets free hits on an uncloak. Most of the time I hear him before I can even see him.
With other stealth killers there are drawbacks like Myers is slower, Ghostface is still only 115% and slower when crouched, and Pig is slower when crouched. Wraith suffers no drawbacks because even though he is slowed when starting to uncloak, that lunge makes up for it.
The only thing I’d change about Wraith is slightly lessening the amount of distance he gets on his lunge. It feels just as long as a Spirit running Wakazashi Saya.
-
Doctor is the killer most likely to slug for the 4K and let someone bleed out when there are two survivors left.
Oni is most likely to slug at 5 gens. Twins are up there as well.
And then obviously Nurse
In my experience it’s a four way tie between them.
I personally rarely run into sweaty Spirit players. A lot start to meme with me and let me escape.
-
You play against her kind of the same way you play against projectile killers. You break line of sight and put objects in between you and her.
In all fairness there’s really not much you can do against her other than try to throw off her pathing by breaking LOS and hope she messes up enough for you to waste a bunch of her time. People always go to pallet loops against a Nurse and play against her the same way they would play against a killer like Wraith, you can’t do that. People die all the time because they’re not breaking LOS and trying to make her guess on your position.
It’s not a matter of running her for five generators, you just waste as much of her time as possible and hope your teammates are doing gens.
People give her a pass because she’s one of the harder killers to play. It’s still doesn’t change the fact that she’s busted and the most unfairly oppressive killer in the game when played at a high level. You just don’t run into many of them so it’s not a huge complaint.
I do believe she’s probably going to stay the way she is for the rest of the game’s lifecycle. I am fine with that because I do enjoy facing a nurse because it’s so different and the playstyle is unique.
-
When I get screwed over by the game and not outplayed by the other side in instances like…
• Lag spikes
• Hitting a pallet instead of a survivor when lunging
• Getting exhausted on the ground
The only true thing I hate is when the game screws me over and the opposing side benefits from it. I dislike some killers but it pales in comparison to performance issues.
-
Comparing Lethal Pursuer to Coup De Grace is like comparing Adrenaline and Flashbang. They do to completely different things.
It’s apples to oranges. There is no comparison between these perks. LP helps killers with little tracking abilities to get an easy first chase. CDG helps at pallet loops. How are these comparable?

Well, the point is to make it a guessing game, in part. Spirit still has Scratch Marks to work with (maybe). And if you think those are inconsistent... Well I agree. She needs to have some form of tracking while Phasing, but breathing is far too accurate of an indicator as the information source is constant.
I've suggested before to make Survivors breathe cold air while inside her TR that Spirit can see even while phasing. (rip a fog cloud asset that spawns around their head every 5s or so), this way, as long as the Spirit is some distance away, Survivors have time to change their movement against their last known position (if she is phasing), and if Spirit times it so that the cloud occurs near the end of her Phase, she needs to be able to guess where Survivors go for the start of the phase, but will be able to course correct a little bit if she doesn't get it right.
This also means its visual based, and much more accessible.
Then slap audio on a Purple addon or something.
I do like the cold air idea, that’s a neat idea.
All I want is for Spirit to have some kind of indication of where the survivor is so it’s not a complete guessing game. I also don’t want the survivor to complete guess either. the guessing game is fine but both sides should have SOME form of indication. Spirit it should be some kind of sound and for survivor it should be visual. Her being completely deafened just doesn’t sit right with me.
My last thoughts on Nurse. She has counterplay in form of you can see what she is doing and make a play unlike Spirit who is basically a guess, but whether you go down or not is in the hands of Nurse. A good Nurse equals death. You just hope she screws up.

It's only her prime form of tracking at high-level play.
Because, as you note, it negates the only drawbacks of actually using her Power. Why are Survivors invisible from the start, flavor? No, it was most likely by design supposed to be the counter-play to Spirits kit: Increased Mobility while maintaining Lethality at the cost of Tracking. Which good players completely negate using sound.
Unlike Nurse, instead of a 50/50 where the Survivor can try to juke, the Spirit literally just runs nearby the end of scratch marks until they hear they're ontop of a Survivor and exit Phase. Her Power currently has no counterplay (Slotting a Perk is not counterplay). The only counterplay available to Survivors, like Wraith, is to literally just learn how to drop pallets (a finite resource) and hope the Killer isn't that good to quickly burn through resources. And like Wraith, she has enough mobility (in fact even greater mobility) to prevent Survivors from moving loop to loop. Meaning most loops end up being unsafe loops until she hits you and you can use the Injured speed boost to move to the next one.
And letting Survivors know that she's Phasing isn't going to give counter-play, just let them know that they're screwed.
Let me ask this….what is the purpose in deafening her when it’s gonna be a pure guessing game on her part? There is zero purpose in deafening her when she is always primarily tracking on sound. You can disagree, that is fine. But I will always believe her prime form of tracking is sound. She needs some kind of sound from the survivors to work with.
And in my suggestion I gave clear counterplay. The Freddy like glimpses, the indication of phasing, breathing sounds from Spirit while phasing, louder footsteps while phasing, moving grass and corn. I feel like this is PLENTY of counterplay.
By the way Nurse is not a 50/50. It’s basically whether or not the Nurse is good. She’s good? Well. You’re dead. People just don’t complain about her as much because she’s hard to play so she gives as pass. She’s the most BS killer in the game but unlike Spirit she gives indication if what she is doing.

I’m not sure why some wanted it nerfed to oblivion. I was hoping for some small qol changes, like the one coming in the mid chapter patch.
It’s a very strong perk so I get why people hate it. I’m biased because I always use Iron Will.
The quality of life change in the mid chapter patch is a pure buff to Iron Will though since Stridor has no affect on it now. It did nothing but buff Iron Will which needed no buff.
All I want is survivor to breath when walking and pant when running with Iron Will and give killer some kind of audio cue

My idea was that since hearing her phase rush is based on her husk's terror radius, that the husk would gain insidious; thereby having no terror radius, and forcing every survivor to hear the phase rush regardless of proximity, if the spirit stood still for too long before activating her power. I thought it would give spirit players a new avenue to mind game, while simultaneously nerfing the most annoying part of her 'kit'.
Addon changes would include:
- Drop Dried Cherry Blossoms to Rare tier.
- Convert Prayer Bead Bracelet to be the very rare passive phasing addon, slightly buffing it over Dried Cherry Blossoms, increasing viability. Also light up the addon on the HUD when it activates, allowing players to more actively take advantage of passive phasing. (Must use any phasing addon to see this information.)
- Raise Bloody Hair Brooch to very rare in accordance with its new power budget value.
I like this idea! I just see a lot of people also complain about purely guessing of her location while phasing so that would need some attention as well.
