That's pretty much where rancor comes into play - to make you think twice about not escaping when you have the chance. If you don't think you can save someone without getting mori'd, leave. No one can blame you for that.
Now... with my killer head on... You are a literal coward if you don't run right towards me to try and save your mate.
Be the hero! Be like the obsession Meg I had last night, who actually attempted to recover a slugged friend right in front of me. I just looked at her for a few seconds before hitting and killing her. -

Or they could reduce the grind so you don't feel the need to pay.Then what else would we do? It's not like we have a story to work through etc. or anything to build. The game is the grind.

ARRRGGGHHHH.

Good grief... So much pointless ######### in this thread. Is it not possible to have one discussion without bickering?
@KillJiggy said:
If survivors couldn't look directly behind their player model, how would that impact the game.Since you clarified later than you only mean directly behind them, not a change to POV etc. etc. then you'd make escaping and looping difficult. You could still look behind you, you'd just have to turn your body slightly which would ruin your chances of escape while running. Not necessarily a bad thing... but I'd probably vote for 'no' on this because it'd still require a lot of testing and balancing to deal with.
I'm not even getting into the whole first-person POV nonsense. That'd make it a different game. I'd rather the devs work on the actual problems and make DbD into something great, instead of shifting towards DbD2.
Edit: I can't spell. Why hasn't this coffee started working yet!?!
-
Also banning survivors who leave lobbies? I do that too.
Sometimes I change my mind and decide to play killer instead, sometimes I don't have time to wait any longer for Feng Min to hit her ready flag, and sometimes ######### is burning in the kitchen.
Edit: Typo.

If I couldn't sell them back, I'd rather give them to someone to might actually use them.

Peace offering.
I found a new upgrade for Leatherface. It'll make all your whifting sound better, and reduce your carbon footprint.

I believe the devs to a certain point in some patch's just get so fed up with one side they just do whatever they're asking for without actually thinking of the negativesIt probably has happened. Other times, I'm pretty sure they don't give a crap what we're all arguing about.

But, with the best will in the world, sometimes developers make mistakes, or things just don't work out as expected. They may also have a long-term plan for all of this. Fingers crossed.

I dont mind SWF nerfs I just dont want nerfs to survivors where its super badMate, noone does. Not really.
It's just the nature of the game, and the forum, that the survivors and killers bicker endlessly.
Sometimes you really have to work hard to understand the truth in what people are saying/asking for... because it's buried under a lot of salt and frustration. -
@kate_best_girl said:
Killers can still beat a SWF group but what you're asking for isnt balance like I said its make all killers OP and make the game unplayable for survivors.For the most part, people aren't asking for this. And I'd guess most people would be perfectly happy for SWF to stay, if it can be made fair.
Maybe you just don't realise just how difficult it is for the average killer to deal with a 4-man, coordinated group? There is plenty of space to make it harder for the survivors without taking away all the fun or making it impossible for them to escape. However, the actual "how" you do this is the hard part.

Okay but this dude literally is cancerHeh. That's between you and him.

you're chill about everything but he is just...entitled there isnt any other words for it.
You're going to run into two types of killer on this forum: one will point out that SWF is broken and needs fixing, the other has lost all hope of that and so wants SWF removed.
-
@kate_best_girl said:
There isn't any change that could be done to nerf SWF? How would they nerf it and please read my replyHonestly, I don't have an answer to how to balance for SWF and still keep solo-queuing viable. If it were an easy fix, they'd have surely done it.
And just because it's a menu option, it doesn't mean its a) balanced, b) working as intended, or c) a good idea.
-
@kate_best_girl said:
You're entire comment was "Dont play with your friends because it isnt fun for me."If you read, his entire comment was "Don't play with your friends because the devs haven't made a game that actually works if you do".
If you want to play SWF, you'd be better off standing with killers and saying "Hey devs, make balancing this a priority". Then you don't have to worry about lobby dodging etc. either. But I'm guessing you don't want to see any change. Why would you, after all? SWF is so much fun for survivors BECAUSE it's unbalanced.
-
Of the two, rancor. I don't tend to get hit with pallets much as Amanda - certainly not enough to get a lot of use out of spirit fury - probably because I don't tend to chase with her that much.
-
LOL.
I only saw one Jake this weekend (though admittedly I didn't get that many hours in), which I'm hoping means we've started making some inroads into eliminating him from the game.

It also meant I got some decent BP as a survivor since I wasn't been farmed by Jakes every match.

Amanda mains are a lot like Amanda herself.
They want to play a sadistic game that only they can win.I can definitely see why people say that. I'm usually nice (honest) and have run into one or two fun Piggies when I play survivor, but there is something about Amanda's mechanics that makes you a little cruel.

One of my fondest game memories was saving a Claudette from a particularly mean Pig. They had trapped her and stuck her on the hook and crouched nearby. I had BT. I gave my life to save that Claudette and I would love to do it again, every, single, day.Awww. That's sweet.
Well... here's my fondest memory. I watch this every night before I go to bed.

Not sure regression should be quite as fast as repairing, but probably a little faster than it is now. But I like the rest.

The Jake one needs to come with a bear trap on his head.
Have signed. Would definitely buy.

My least favorite to play against would be Trapper and HagHmm.. actually, Trapper is a good shout. Not because he's scary, just because there's nothing more heartbreaking than performing a death-defying escape and then casually wandering into a trap while you're admiring yourself.

Guy in the office is called Jake... I am slowly losing the battle to restrain myself from putting a trap on his head.

If you're planning to prestige one of your survivors, just use all your items, use all your good addons and ignore the brown ones, as it would take ages to go through them with little benefit. You'll get a load of those again anyway, after you prestiged.I have yet to figure out why I rarely use items and offerings in everyday play but, when it comes to prestiging, I can't help but make sure every last one (aside from the map offerings) is used up first.

If a killer drops an SWF group from the lobby, do they have to reform the group?
Not that I would ever do such a thing, just asking.

Pigs are also the only Killers capable of physically teabagging the Jake they tunneled for playing JakeI like to ruffle their hair while they're lying on the ground, waiting for the inevitable.

Not so much a "There, there sweetie, it'll be soon be over."... More of a "I know it's unfair; you're being punished for the actions of your brother Jakes. But I'm really looking forward to this trap going off so try to make a bit of a show of it. You know, wiggle a bit etc."
-
Pig players are notorious for their good natures, strong senses of morals, and dedication to fair, enjoyable play for everyone in the match.
Everyone cheers when they find out they're against a Pig, and then they come onto this forum to rejoice publically.
-
Wow, that's awesome. I really appreciate you taking the time to offer so much advice, mate. You're a star!
Sounds like it could be worth a few shots, if for no other reason than to force me to play a little better (or, at least, less lazy).

Has anyone actually tested the timing of it though? Seeing as healing as a whole has been slowed down.Just saw this on Reddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/9l87sw/in_other_news_freddy_got_a_massive_indirect_buff/
Looks like someone has attempted some testing. I only skimmed it, but it looks to me that their conclusion was that recovery has not actually been nerfed in line with healing and so these changes are detrimental to killers.*
Can't say whether it's worse for Freddy, I don't play him.
Edit: Or maybe it has been, but anti-healing perks don't affect recovery. IDK.
-
Yup. It's a good one. I run it on a Meg with Sprint Burst and Urban Evasion. It's saved my arse many times.
Been meaning to try running Spine Chill with a few other similar perks (Mystic Meg?) like Premonition and Dark Sense, but haven't gotten around to it yet. When running only one of that type, Spine Chill is definitely my favourite.
-
Hahahah.
Any tips? I'm about to try a No Mither build on a Feng.

@Eninya said:
Pig doesn't slug unless she's camping, or she tunneled a single survivor to their death hook and maintained a lead.A hundred trapped and slugged Jakes on PS4 might disagree with you there.

IMO slugging with Piggy isn't too bad a strategy. I find it works well, in combination with the traps, to slow the game down. I try not to do it too much because it sucks for the survivor to get trapped, hooked, and then slugged when they're spotted trying to remove the trap... But, you know, some people deserve it.
-
@No_Mither_No_Problem said:
Why the [BAD WORD] do people hate my precious Korean thicc boi™ so muchBecause seemingly none of you can pull off a hook rescue without ending the game of the victim (your victim, not the killers). Jakes are the leading cause of death when I play survivor.

And y'all are getting a trap on ya head, in retaliation.
In fact, there should be a perk where all Jakes start the match with the trap on their head - just to save me the effort of tunneling and hunting you down.Edit: Because "retalition" isn't a word. Hey, it was early and I've not had a coffee yet.
-
Hmm. Just reading the patch notes.
Any thoughts on whether the healing nerf will negate the changes to slugging? They may have done an ok job here after all?
-
Ugh. Didn't know this - I really should read the notes myself.
I thought they were going to make games last longer, not speed them up??? One person on the floor is one less person doing gens. A slugged teammate is an easy rescue so, at least, one additional person was occupied finding and helping them. Two people not doing gens. Make it easier to get people up... shorten the amount of time they're not working on gens - that's pretty obvious, right?
And, slugging happens a lot when survivors swarm the hook and/or attempt to body-block or heal without moving away. Primarily from SWF teams, I've lost count of the number of times someone is healing a slugged survivor while I'm trying to hook one of his teammates (but being blocked). I have no objection to this battle... but the devs really want to make it easier to revive a survivor right in front of the killer? While at the same time, penalizing killers for being around the hook?!
I will trust that they have a bigger picture in mind... Er...
Edit: I don't even want this change with my survivor head on.

Not being pedantic, but I thought (initially) you were suggesting that killers shouldn't get wreaths etc. for bonus points.

I don't know for how long u look for a survivor around the hook, but i don't stay longer than 15 seconds because i gotta keep the map pressure, so it's not gonna be an issue to me.It varies, of course, but not too long in most cases. Probably longer than you though.
I am hoping it doesn't affect me too much either, but the general rule in effect from this change doesn't make much sense to me.
