    Since I main Quentin now

    I... Er... What?

I keep reading that sentence... but it still isn't making any sense to me. Like, I know what each of the words mean individually but, when combined, it's like Entity-speak.

Is that a real thing? Can someone "main" a Quentin?

Oh wait... you mean maiM? You maim Quentins now! I geddit. Good stuff.

  • Sad to see so much hate for Piggies. We're only mean because no one ever hugs us.

But, anyway, Billy out. He's just no fun to go against, and I've never yet met a Billy with any craic.

Some say if you hide in a locker as a Dwight for long enough you grant a Nea main the ability to kill the killer ;)

Some also say that if you hide any survivor in a locker long enough, they become a Dwight.

  • @Jack11803 said:
That’s exactly the problem. 1 killer accounts for 4 survivors. Every survivor who finishes their side (which is faster than killer) will go to killer. This will create MASSIVE matchmaking issues.

Yikes. Maybe I should go for those 30 killer vials now then. I'm a 50/50 player, but had opted to start with mostly survivor games. Sounds like killer first would be a better route, and switch to survivor when all the scrubs go to killer.

  • @powerbats said:
then you have the afkers that'll just go hide and do nothing problem.

    Ever run Bond III?

I am absolutely gobsmacked at how many people hide in lockers for huge portions of the game. Of course, I knew people did it, but watching them this weekend was illuminating.

Totally agree that if you offer people a reward that applies even if they do nothing, nothing is exactly what they'll do.

  • @Fabyoulust said:
Every survivor game (which as a killer man you are forcing me to play if i want cosmetics for free) is horrid. Killers run moris and farm survivors constantly and do anything in their power to screw over the survivors from getting nectar.

And those survivors are all lovely right? They're not wiggling/body-blocking/decisive strike/flashlight saving etc. when one is on the way to an event hook.

I've even seen survivors farm plants with the killer, then f*ck off out the exit. These killers would have got no serum at all except for the fact I'm usually happy (often having to insist) to be hooked.

It's almost like a whole bunch of arseholes play this game - some playing killer, some playing survivor, and some playing both. I wish everyone was a little more accommodating during these things, but not everyone will be and it's most definitely not a killer problem.

When someone first opens survivor hes is set as default to be already chosen

Hahaha. I guess that makes sense actually. :)

Nu uh didn’t you know they’re on sale right now

Damn xmas gets earlier every year.

(Yeah yeah, I'm getting old, I know).

  • @Twix said:
Exactly, there are 2 cankers that are fair game, I never said I was entitled to all of it, in fact I never said I was entitled to anything. I just think that if you use an offering you should get some nectar out of it and it's not always the case whether you use offering or not, which is kinda sad if you ask me.

Ok, fair enough. Yes it sucks if you play an offering and come away with nothing.

It also sucks when you play an offering and get killed before you stumble across the damn plant. :) That's the nature of DbD, and the alternative is basically just put the outfits in the bloodweb.

  • @Twix said:
    3) you don't have to use an offering to get the plants, you can just steal them from someone else.

You know 1-2 cankers spawn even if noone plays an offering? So at least some that nectar is fair game for everyone - you're not entitled to ALL of it just because you did play an offering.

  • @Rebel_Raven said:
And of course the most subtle hint of all, watching them harvest, and not attacking them.
    At least until they're done.
No one seems to understand that they're near a flower, and I;m not trying to kill them. I mean obviously not trying to kill them.

Be me. Waiting patiently for Nea to finishing harvesting rather than pull her off the plant. Coz I be nice like that.

She finishes and then runs... Er... ok, I suppose... I catch. Proceeding to event hook, Decisive Strike. Really #########? Nea is tunnelled and slugged multiple times until she d/cs. Everyone else escapes but I'm more than happy with this result. :)

Join the Sweater Meme Mafia and get a free fingerbanana glove to share with your survivors!

You'll have to wait until December to buy your hideous jumpers ("sweaters") though.

  • Also the lag. My god... I'm guessing a lot of survivor mains (who have never really hosted a game before as killer) are trying to get some vials on that side, but don't have the Internet connection to do it.

Seen survivors d/c because of that, and also have a 3 minute video of my Feng "running" around the map while crouched in the generator fixing position.

  • It's not just survivors to be fair. Killers are at it too. And I've seen more people fail to load in and game crashes this weekend than usual.

  • @Giche said:
I think it's just because he look like the generic weirdo in a Slasher movies.

Lol. And that's something people like?

I'm happy enough for them to be around (unlike Jakes) mind. Often good for a laugh. Game yesterday where I was on for a 4K and decided to go for it. 1 gen left, I slugged the 3rd survivor (who had decisive left anyway) and went looking for the Dwight. Found him, lost him, and started to panic a bit...

... I mean, he wouldn't would he? With all the stereotypes about Dwights, he wouldn't be hiding in this here locker??? But he was! Laughed all the way to the hook. Couldn't find no. 3 but she bled out anyway.

  • Because Meg is awesome (what every woman should aspire to be) and Claudette can hide in bushes.

Dwight... er... ok, I got nothing. No idea why anyone plays that dweeb. :)

  • @ZombieGenesis said:
Most of the games I'm playing are resulting in survivors escaping, at least 2. The problem is I tend to be the only survivor interested in the damn cankers. Everyone else is just gen rushing.

Really? Wow. I'm seeing the exact opposite.

I even got 4K with an L1 Wraith yesterday because people ignored all the gens and were just looking for the cankers. AND I make it a rule not to hit people when they're harvesting (you wouldn't kick a homeless man up the arse when he's picking up a pound coin), but was still too easy to catch them wandering around looking for the things.

BUT I'm not complaining. Harvesting as a survivor is getting a little tedious at this point, but overall I'm fine with the event. And I think the change of pace etc. is enjoyable.

Edit: Also finding a few more people goofing around, which is fun. Just a shame about the ones who get some serum and then d/c.

  • Got a couple so far now. Yay! Took ages to appear in the webs for my L50 chars, but my L15 David got them straight away. Typical.

Saving them for the summer :)

  • @RabidWabbitz said:
If they do it I just hope they don't cop out with Pinhead and make sure they do Doug Bradley's likeness and not Stephan Collins.

Lol. True. And let's not have fat Doug Bradley from the later movies either. :)

Sorry Doug, coudn't resist. I actually met him, briefly, once. He was nice to me.

  • I expect things will get back to normal levels of abusive behaviour and toxicity once people understand how the event works.

Lot of players won't have seen the stream or be reading the forums, so they only have the few, short instructions in-game to go off.

  • That's a nice idea. Good on you for offering this.

  • @Peasant said:
It would seem that while peace sells, nobody's buying.

    Hahaha. Megadeth, good call!

  • @Khalednazari said:
Ahahaha. You should thank me. I saved you from more disappointment.

    Lol. That's true.

    Thank you. :)

  • @Khalednazari said:
Its just bug fixes. Meh! Got excited for nothing.

Damn you. You ruined the surprise before my update has even finished installing.

  • Fingers crossed it drops me out of this current game then. Not going well.

  • @Fibijean said:
@Eight To be fair, sometimes people will do things like spam crouch or flash their torches as a way of saying "thank you", but since people do those same things when they're being dicks it's hard to distinguish between the two. Of course, if they then went on to insult you in postgame or something, that's another matter.

All the pointing and "come on" motions make me think otherwise. But yes, it's a fair point. And it's why I give a nice bow instead - unless the killer is engaging in tomfoolery and a crouchy crouch laugh is appropriate.

  • @kevi2323 said:
Why is that i will be throwed in a game, hooked and then facecamped until i die. It's so #########.

Maybe try telling the rest of the survivors to stop being such dicks then.

Twice today I've been super nice and tried to let everyone go. (Had a couple of d/cs after one hit, so failed). And twice I've been BMd at the gates. Yeah, you're super tough taunting the guy who just carried you to the gate to give you an escape.

Everyone else today is getting tunnelled mercilessly. No respecting the 4%, no hatches given.

  • @Khalednazari said:
It's not possible to obtain 'normal' brown medkits and 'normal' yellow flashlights till the event ends. When you search the chests and level up the bloodwebs, you will find All Hallow's Lunch Box (special glowing medkit) and Will O' Wisps (special ghost flashlights) booh!

    Great stuff, thank you!

  • @Peasant said:
Just be mindful of the future. If you put flashlights on a non P3 character, you run the risk of losing your specials after you Prestige.

Yeah, can't really win long term on this. But still...

  • @Peasant Aaaah... I see what you mean. This could make things interesting - may have to break out my lower level chars for the event. :)

Edit: L11 David has plunderer's 1. God help me if I have to play that. :)

  • @Peasant said:
Probably both, but I'm not sure.

Definitely want some. Just not sure if I should be tiering up plunderer's etc., or continuing to save bloodpoints.

  • Sort of changed my mind. Would prefer Joey over Kirsty, especially if they license Terry Farell's likeness.

Which they should for all the movie characters really. Even if it makes the DLC more expensive.

  • @ItsYourBoyGuzma said:
Why the hell would they spend money on Pig cosmetics when there's better iconic killers to purchase license outfits for like Michael , Freddy,  and Leatherface lol

Er... because people play Piggy and might buy them?

  • I like event exclusive outfits really. I understand why you'll be able to buy them afterward (clearly, too much work has gone into them for them to be available for only 2 weeks), but it's kinda taken the excitement of the event away for me.

However, I will potentially buy some cosmetics, because they're great.

TBH, I'd have rather had a basic t-shirt or something that showed you put work the work in on Halloween 2018.

  • @RabidWabbitz said:
I think he could float kind of like the Nurse and be more of a hands off killer to where he attacks using the puzzle box or something. Maybe similar to scorpion from Mortal combat. Uses the hooks to pull you back or something. I just think he is to good for this to not have him in the game! He Needs To Be A DBD Killer!

I can feel my framerate dropping just thinking about this. :)

Could be cool though. My only other concern about bringing Pinhead (or any cenobites) into the game, is that why would anyone NOT play him? The guy shits over every other horror icon.

  • @Lowbei said:
    this is blasphemy.
    you will regret this.

You know us Pigs!? Even when we're being nice... we're not nice.

  • Who cares? You're a Dwight, just die already. :)

  • @Peasant

    Hahahah, amazing stuff.

  • Come on, it's really not that bad.

  • @George_Soros said:
Maybe cheating is rampant on console, I don't know.

Don't think I've seen any clear signs on cheating on PS4. I'm sure there's some, but it doesn't seem to be a huge problem.

  • @RabidWabbitz said:
It needs to be Pinhead!!!!! there is no other that should be hooking people right now!

Massive Hellraiser fan here but, athough he's been suggested many times on the forum, I've never seen gameplay suggestions that would actually work for Pinhead.

TBH I'd be happy enough with a Kirsty Cotton and a Cenobite. Doesn't have to the main man himself. Kinda like how they put Amanda in instead of Kramer for the Saw DLC.

  • To the guy this morning who got Lery's twice in a row, with the same Feng, and disconnected super early in both games... f*ck you, mang!

(Don't entirely blame you, mind. I hate that map!)

  • Who? ;-)

  • @Khalednazari said:
All DLCs are half the price for Halloween Sale. Rejoice!

You what!?! And noone told me this because...?

    Advertising people. Sometimes it works.

  • Been running Sloppy Butcher and Nurses Calling on Pig and Spirit for a while now. Works a treat for me because I'm not ######### hot in chases, so people often get away after one hit.

The changes to healing speed are barely noticeable to me when I play survivor, but definitely helps a bit in finding those sneaky, healing gits when playing killer.

  • @Peasant said:
It wouldn't make sense to include a character you have to buy with one that would hypothetically be available with shards.

sigh You had to bring sense into it. I was having a lovely dream there.

  • @Peasant said:
Seeing with a RBT on my head is easy, hearing anything over BEEP BEEP BEEP is a whole 'nother story.

Hahaha. That's the sound of a million dead Megs rejoicing.

  • @Peasant said:
@Eight Someone here thinks Pig is OP, is this your doing?

    Hahahaha.

Hard to see the rest of your team escaping when you're a tunneled Jake with a trap on yer heed, I guess. :)

  • @Peasant said:
I honestly don't know why I didn't see this coming from you. I think we both know that that isn't happening for a number of reasons.

The devs have said hook farming is a viable strategy?

  • The changes to vaulting are the only bits of the patch I disagree with. Between those and the borked framerate, I'm really struggling to escape anyone today.

But all the rest of the moaning on the forum today... meh.
