That could work, but that I think is putting too much pressure on the survivors. You are forcing 3 boxes to be checked guaranteed every time. Maybe 2 locks though...

I feel like 2 locks is not enough, survivors would be guaranteed taking it off basically. Then the trap would serve as a (time off generator) mechanic and less of a death risk. I feel like 3 is the spot.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/126922/how-does-the-hatch-work-exactly

Just because you're the last survivor doesn't mean you deserve the win. The Hatch has at least some skill to it. If you find the hatch first, and the survivor on hook is still dying. Hide nearby don't stand on it because if the killer is there they can close it faster than you can jump in.

Another option - which I find happens more often. If you know where the hatch is, go wait by the door furthest from the Hatch. When the killer closes the hatch - immediately start opening the door. Most killers do not have the speed to make it to the furthest door from the hatch. Which makes mostly another guaranteed escape for the last survivor.

This page goes into even more detail about how the hatch works, and you could optimize around that:

    https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Hatch

Obviously it doesn't mean I deserve to win, I just find it kinda unfair that even if you've found it first they have priority over it (kicking it close before I get the option to jump in).

The other point you make really only works against slow killers or in big maps. Small maps or maps where the exit gates are nearby to one another is a guaranteed 4K for the killer unless you have a key.

  • @NullEXE said:

I don't like the RNG part of it, imo it should be always the third box you goto, and you have to go to 3 boxes.

That could work if they choose to give the trap 3 locks, each box contains a key once you have the 3 keys you can get it off.

  • @Skulldugged said:

Honestly? The only way I've been able to counter this is to trust that I can loop and try to get them to chase me instead of camp the hatch, then I try to run a loop to cut back to it before they can reach it or down me.

That doesn't work for me either, like I said, even if I try to run away they just ignore me until they kick it closed, once kicked closed it's pretty much impossible to get an exit open especially now that endgame collapse exists.

  • No, but I do love it when I look directly into Ghostface's eyes and still get exposed no matter how close I might be to him.

Would love to have a fix for that, but I hear it's being caused by Dedicated Servers, so I doubt it'll be fixed any time soon.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

You can just block them. Then you won't be in a match with them again.

I don't want to block them just for that though, there should be an ingame mechanic that allows you to not get paired with them again like Overwatch(which only allows for 3 avoids) for example.

  • Alright ty everyone :)

  • The Mori is so bad... IMO The Plague should hit you once and then the toxic vomit should burn your face off until death.

The "fix" is splitting the canker's at 25% nectar for each person. That way if I gather the plant all 4 survivors get part of it.

This is the fix, pretty simple and fair solution for everyone, but for whatever reason the devs don't want to implement it this way.

    1) Oh yeah, play like a toxic #########, I'm sure that's what the devs meant the event to be.
    2) That's impossible as you can only get 1 vial max per match.
    3) Reasonable.

So... you made 1 valid point, "great event!" sarcasm

    1. What? There's always toxic gameplay out there, it's not any different now. You just dislike it a lot cause it's both new and limited in time. You disliking it doesn't mean it's toxic
    2. Right, i was doubling the numbers in my head, idk why: I got my last vial just yesterday, having gained 0.75 - 1 vial per match on average.

    Now i got 3 points. :)

I give you 2 points now, but 1) Still toxic gameplay, I don't like giving my teammates away just so I can take their plant, that's a dick move, sorry. Just because "there's always toxic gameplay out there" doesn't mean I have to be toxic as well.

Exactly, there are 2 cankers that are fair game, I never said I was entitled to all of it, in fact I never said I was entitled to anything. I just think that if you use an offering you should get some nectar out of it and it's not always the case whether you use offering or not, which is kinda sad if you ask me.

Ok, fair enough. Yes it sucks if you play an offering and come away with nothing.

It also sucks when you play an offering and get killed before you stumble across the damn plant. :) That's the nature of DbD, and the alternative is basically just put the outfits in the bloodweb.

The "fix" is splitting the canker's at 25% nectar for each person. That way if I gather the plant all 4 survivors get part of it.

That's probably something they'll consider in the future but then you have the afkers that'll just go hide and do nothing problem.

That's true, but it's better than using an offering and getting nothing out of it - and sure, you can still get bloodpoints out of it, but the event is for cosmetics not for bps... I just want a fair way of splitting the plants for everyone.

    3) you don't have to use an offering to get the plants, you can just steal them from someone else.

You know 1-2 cankers spawn even if noone plays an offering? So at least some that nectar is fair game for everyone - you're not entitled to ALL of it just because you did play an offering.

Exactly, there are 2 cankers that are fair game, I never said I was entitled to all of it, in fact I never said I was entitled to anything. I'm complaining because if I use an offering I should get some nectar out of it, but that isn't the case. If I get found first I'm basically screwed, because 1) people prioritize plants over saves 2) harvesting a plant and getting vials is an individual thing and 3) you don't have to use an offering to get the plants, you can just steal them from someone else.

The event is poorly planned out imo.

This is you feeling entitled to something for free and again you have no issue getting nectar when someone else gets nailed 1st. If you can't get your 30 vials in 2 weeks that's your own fault, don't blame the event for that. You want something for free and you're not getting it for free.

Are you hearing yourself? I'm making the case that "if you use an offering you should get some nectar out of it" this works for everyone as long as you use an offering, no one would be getting "nailed" if caught first if using an offering guaranteed you some nectar. If you don't use an offering and rely on "stealing" the plant from someone else that did use an offering then yes, I do think that person should be getting "nailed" if caught first.

By that logic if the killer found you 1st during the summer BBQ event or any of the other events in the past and the ones in the future will be the worst events ever.

_nope, because in those events I would get points _if my team completed the generators, in this event I have to harvest the plant not my team.

Incorrect, just like the Summer BBQ event, if you put an offering in you got points for the completed gens. If you put an offering in and a plant gets completely harvested by your team you get the 4k points. In order to get the 2 complete cosmetic outfits you have to harvest plants on survivor side and get hooks killer side.

I'm not talking about the bloodpoints, I'm talking about the points for the cosmetics.
Whether you used offering or not you'd progress toward the cosmetic no matter if you touched a generator or not as long as you were alive when they got completed - that is no longer the case. You must harvest the plant in order to get your vial (no teamwork) and half of the time all the plants are taken before you get off the hook.

You stated and I'm **bolding **it above with Italic no less points so you can see why I said what i said based upon your own words. You're also not getting points for cosmetics, you're getting vials of Nectar for the cosmetics. In fact you can easily get vials for both sides with a little effort.

It'd be the worst event ever if the vent lasted for 2 days and that's all the time you had, but here it's 2 weeks and with offerings it's basically double blood points and then some. You just don't like the fact you can't just let your teammates do all the work like before.

When you don't get found 1st and someone else does do you still farm your nectar and when they don't get any do you come on the forums and complain for their sake? The obvious answers are pretty glaring, you have no issue when you get your points and others don't but when you're the one that misses out you get upset.

If you're going to get upset over missing out every so often when you can with a little grind still get both sides done then there's no helping you.

I'm complaining because if I use an offering I should get some nectar out of it, but that isn't the case. 1) You could use an offering and get no vials if the killer finds you first, cause survivors are rushing the plants.
    2) It takes forever to get 1 vial
    3) You are capped at 1 vial per game, how [BAD WORD] dumb is that?

Bring back the generator events, thanks.

    1. Yeah, so it's a contest between Survivors. Plus you can mess them up instead, like making loud noises near them so the Killer will come to hunt them.
    2. Lol, i'm averaging 1-2 vials PER MATCH.
    3. It's not dumb at all, it makes people take longer to get the cosmetics that had work put into them, unlike the cheap reskins in the Store. In past events, i was usually done farming after just 2 days. They did better here in that regard.

    1) Oh yeah, play like a toxic #########, I'm sure that's what the devs meant the event to be.

try and find me as a killer , if I get my hooks I have no problem letting them get their plants . usualy ill walk up and wait till they are done harvesting then knock them down so I can get my hook . if the killer walks past you while your on a plant or just watches you hes being nice . if hes yanking you off it to hook you , maybe not ...

I know when a killer is being friendly or not.. like, I have over 500 hours... all the killers so far just start smacking away.

  • For unlucky people like me the event is the worst. I'm usually the first found even if I try to hide, by the time I can lose the killer or get unhooked the plants are all taken I also have yet to get a "friendly" killer.

  • When did you get unbanned? LUL

One of the Mod's I've been told had done her voice. I agree it isn't very good and someone with more experience would have been a better fit but hey her voice doesn't ruin the game.

I haven't seen you agree with anyone ever on the forum's.

Well, to each their own opinion, but I personally believe her voice right now is horrendous and tbh, hurts my ears. Way too loud, annoying, and simply bad. I really hope they remove it or change it to something else.

  • Devs just need to fix matchmaking. Like, allow people within 5 ranks to group together.
    Ex: 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20.

This would definitely fix some of the issues.

No. You already get the icon of a Hex totem, there’s no need for no QOL change, because all it will do is make people ignore totems that aren’t Ruin, etc.

In what way would it change anything? The game literally tells you what the Hex perk is that has been discovered. Like working on a Gen you get told it's Ruin, or when someone is downed in a single hit with Devour Hope the game points that out to you.

All the OP is asking for is the icon of the perk to stay there, basically.

Let’s say there are 2 Hex Totems in the map, Devour Hope and Third Seal. As of right now you don’t know which one got cleansed unless the killer hits someone or in the case of Third Seal if she downs someone. However, if the icons of the active Hex perk are shown, let’s say you cleanse a Hex then it would automatically tell you which one it is you cleansed and then you’d immediately start looking for the other one.

  • Wonderful idea as long as your positioning isn't given away to the killer. Sure, don't let Survivors escape when someone is hooked, but don't give me up if I'm hiding near the exit.

  • Survivor is not meant to be played without purple flashlights and flashlight saves left and right, because then it is too hard to survive. Kappa
