Is this a Necromancer Killer idea thread?

There is a way to surrender. Open the exit gate.
And if they have not done all 5 gens, then the game is not over.
You can't open the exit gate until all 5 gen's are done. Too many times I could even count when I get in game with SWF groups who are just being toxic and want to farm/bully the Killer will do 2-4 gen's and take the game hostage. The large amount of safe loops, and pallets in a match lets them do this eaisily and Killer's are completely powerless to stop it. The worst times is when they just take the game hostage by sabotaging all the hooks so even if you do down anyone you can't hook them. Try to slug and they will safe loop you till they can save each other. Good survivors can do this easily without any stress.
Survivors can just suicide on hook, but Killers are forced to DC to avoid hostage situations like these.

Ok you dont really understand what is going on here it seems.
@OP yeah it would be fair but it would also just kill the game most likely sooo yeah probably not going ot happen. What you can do is indeed just play a different game while they finish their objectives or whatever and move on.
I tend ot just look on this forum for example or some youtube vids
I've had a match where I would step away for an hour and a half (I watched an entire movie on Netflix) and the survivors are still in game clicking flashlights, teabagging, and notification spamming behind my killer I left in the corner. I would try to push them out the door at that point, but they still didn't finish the last gen. The game proceeded where I had to take the brunt of all their abuse till they finished maxing all their catagories, and then they finally finished the gen and let me leave. Ensuring to bad mouth in the end game lobby because I went afk and that was aparrently what anyone did wrong that game.
@CashelP14 said:
I'd say maybe after 3 gens have been done you should have the option of opening the door yourself. But I don't want to encourage this since even with only 1 gen left the killer can still get a 4k.
Personally most of my wins end up with only 1 or 2 gens left so that shows how close to the end the game can get. Especially a cocky team can make many mistakes which led to you getting multiple kills.
I like this idea, but if survivors abuse it like they do leaving 1-2 gens up, then I would suggest giving the Killer the option of opening the gates from the start of the match.
@DBD78 said:
Bring Noed. Survivors are mostly lazy and you can kill one of them in the end. Better then nothing.
NOED in high ranks is useless, survivors cleanse all the totems, and totem locations are easy to remember. Unfortunately in my situation Hex perks are off the table. If it was a team of survivors where NOED would work on them, then I wouldn't have an issue with the survivors taking the game hostage in the first place.
-
4 Survivors just 3 gen'd themself really hard. I had surveilance as Freddy, so I could teleport to even the gen that was a bit further away than the rest. Sure enough they all ran around like chickens who lost their head. Not only did I max all my bp catagories by the time they finally gave up trying to finish the last gen, but I got the 4k - becasue the Laurie was annoying and was trying to bait me into chasing her into the completed gens and last of the palelts.
Anyways the lobby chat was just them calling the usual "zzz", calling me a "tunneler" (Camper maybe, because I could see when they touched any gen, but I didn't tunnel. I hooked them all twice, and didn't chase anyone off hook - I chased the person who saved them because I had Make Your Choice).
It was a good time.
Disclaimer; Literally at any point 2 survivors could have worked on the same gen and finished it before I had a chance to react, they literally just spent too much time healing and not enough time working on the last gen.

Did he ever say that? Nice strawman.
People like you who make braindead arguments like "oh, the killer has so much pressure even though 3 gens popped."
If it's a swf, one person goes for save, and 2 are on gens.
Why do we, instead of acknowledging the problems with gen speed, defend bad game design?
Because commenters like Aven on the forums don't want the game to be rebalanced back into the Killer's favor. The game would be more stressful and less fun for survivors to play. It's really obvious and common sense that the game is broken right now, but the dev's don't see that as long as people like Aven exist.
-
I am surprised that the last two big patches didn't nerf survivors in a way that gave the power back to the Killer role. With triple A game companies sitting around the corner going to jump into the asymetrical market I would have sooner thought the dev's wanted to keep their Killer fanbase in the game. With barely a month left before the first game hits RE: Resistance, I doubt BHVR even has time now to fix the game before they lose a lot of players.
-
I remember a time when playing Killer was fun, those were good times.

Map sizes and layout. The maps needs to be smaller, have less pallets, and less safe loops.

Alright. So when you say "Killers don't have an early game", what does that mean in relation to the killer's objective? If 2/3 generators pop within the first couple of minutes, is that always a problem, even if the killer has already got maybe 3-4 hooks in that time? Is it only a problem for some killers, like Trapper, who need to sacrifice early setup for early chases/hooks or vice versa?
There is like only 2 Killers who can get 3-4 hooks in the early game, and that's because they have global teleports / high mobility. All other Killers literally have to go without an early game unless the survivors just straight up ignore their objective.
I am more than sure the survivors do not want to "gen rush", but with current map sizes and layouts it's near impossible to avoid unless they are taking moments to go stare at the Trial walls.
-
These reason's, and many others. @BHVR Stop making challenges that ruins the game. We all just want to have fun.

@BigBubs said:
If there is no survivors close to the hook then yes. Why shouldn't it? Endgame doesn't change anything related to emblems.
You can try standing further than 16m away. Or you can try chasing others away. You can try hooking somewhere that will not make it easy to unhook and run out instead of going for the closest hook that's gonna make it easy to save.
Also , hooking is your objective, not "guarding". If camping was the objective then you wouldn't lose points for it.
Why does it matter if the survivors are close to the hook or not? The Killer can't see the other survivors. The Killer has no way of knowing if the survivors are close to the hook or not. The Killer literally can't do anything but guard the person on hook hoping someone goes for the hook exchange. If they left the hook to patrol the door, the other survivors would have already had enough time to 99 or open the gates while the Killer was hooking a survivor.

So, I just came across a killer who face camped me at the beginning of the game, when I messaged the killer he said he was doing it because I was being toxic. I got confused since I was literally on a gen and the game had just started. Turns out he made a list of the people that have tbagged him at the exit doors. Yes, he made a LIST of people tbagging at the doors. Not because they were toxic in game, not because they were tbaggin during a chase, or messing with him. Nope. He got salty cause survivors tbag at the doors.
I never tbag in game, ii have at the doors just cause at this point is tradition, not because I wanna "tilt" the killer, to me is more of a "byee" kinda thing.
Damn, this dude actually checks his list when joining a lobby :´D
It's not tradition. You got what you deserved.
God damn survivors are far too entitled, they think that there is nothing wrong with bullying Killers and go as far as to say it's "tradition" jesus christ. Resident Evil 3 is going to be a glorious release.

Also, all Survivors are human, so a humanoid creature as a Survivor would be quite odd.

Good advice. As for me personally, I bought the game 2 or 3 years ago, but have only 138 hours in the game. However, if I count the timespan of DbD gameplay videos and streams I've been watching, I'm sure it will be more than 2000. xD
That's why I've been to Purple Ranks as a Killer. Could probably get Red Rank, but simply don't have enough time to play that much within 1 month.
I'm sorry my comment wasn't really directed at you. More towards OP. This isn't the only thread he made so far, and you can tell by his comments on other threads as well he is very new to the game and is still in the "You're going to lose a lot at the start" phase, since this game really doesn't have training wheels for Killers or Survivors.
-
Vote Up my idea for description changes to these two perks.
Second Wind: Heal Survivor - Get Hooked - Insta heal after x seconds after being unhooked.
Inner Strength: Cleanse Totems, Hide in Lockers, Get Heals, ???, Profit!
-
We can tell you're new to the game. I would suggest getting at least around 2000 hours into the game before particpating in the forum, or at least before making entire threads suggesting for large game impacting changes.
If you took the time to learn more about the game before making your thread you would know that there already is a penalty system for camping, and that's in the Chaser emblem. You can learn about the emblem system here.

While I agree, I think gen speeds will still be a problem. I feel that if the devs touch gen speeds, they'll ######### over solo survivors, but I firmly believe that survivors need a second objective. Everything thing else I agree with you on 100%
It takes at most 80 seconds for one survivor to complete a gen, and 40 seconds for two survivors to complete a gen. Not including the use of items, or perks to speed up that process. There already is a second objective in the game that survivors should be staying aware of and that's totems, to avoid the hidden threat of NOED being in the game. The Killer can take the perk to remind them, let's give a moment of silence of all Killers running NOED and never getting to use it.
A normal chase takes about 20 seconds to chase, hit, down, pickup, and hook a survivor. However that gets made to be longer with the use of perks, and pallets. Reducing the amount of pallets a survivor can use in a single chase, and time it takes for a survivor to go from one pallet to another ensures the Killers ability to down a survivor quicker, giving the killer more time to pressure gens, having more impact on the Killer being able to slow down Gen speed.
Which I think giving Killer the ability to slow the game down more is a better idea than just slowing the game down in general.

This has been discussed many times before. For now I'll just say that there are better ways to close the SWF/solo gap without ruining the game's atmosphere in the process.
You can't close the gap between Solo and SWF by any other means. Unless you plan to directly nerf mechanics to players that decide to play in a SWF like gen repair penalties, and/or restricting perks/perk slots. Which i'm pretty sure everyone can agree would make the game less fun to play, and then many players will leave for other aysymetrical games that they can play with their friends without being penalized for doing so.
The only way is to introduce voice chat, and then the game can be better balanced, and all around the experience in the game will become better for everyone when everyone has the same tools available to them and no one is playing with tremendous handicaps.
As far as the "atmosphere" of the game goes, I don't see many horror slasher films where the survivors are not engaging in conversation. There have been suggestions of a proximity chat, which to be fair would be a very fun idea especially for a game like Dead by Daylight, though it still wouldn't be as strong as SWF so solo would still be at a disadvantage. The gap would deffiently be smaller, but still a disadvantage none the less.
@Mandy said:
I have always been against voice chat and I always will be against voice chat!
What people don't realise to a large degree is that Europe has a lot of languages in it, so you want to penalise the people who are playing solo and are matched with people who don't speak the same language as them? Which will make the gap for solo survivors far worse than it is now.
I'm sure many people realize this, but another thing most people realize is that English is a global language, and from what I can tell the majority of europeans speak it. Coming from the experience of playing video games popular in Europe, like PUBG, Overwatch, and CS:GO the majority speak and understand English as well. At the same time it's quite fun when I play with players who have a hard time with English, and then surprise them by speaking their native language, but that's a personal experience thing.
We also can't excuse how dedicated servers are supposed to work. There shouldn't be any reason for a player to connect to a European server if they are from the west, and at the same time there is no reason a player should be connecting to a Spanish server when they from like say Canada. Dedicated servers stop language barriers when used properly.
My bigger concern is game balance, and the fun for ALL players and not just solo survivor or SWF. This includes killers. Once the same tools are available to all survivors, then dev's can start to balance the game better, and that would make playing Killer fun to play too. Right now Killers are not having any fun - at all. Solo survivors are having some fun, and SWF is having all off the fun - while at the same time turning the game into a bully simulator. The game in it's current condition is going to kill itself when the next asymetrical games hit shelves - something BHVR should and could be doing better to be prepared for.

Killers need more encouragment to stay, and the game needs rebalancing to make them the power role again.
-
Gen speed isn't so much the problem as is map sizes and layout. Survivors have it too easy to be safe a majority of the time, so there is no need to fear the entity in the trial that is there as a threat. Fixing the issue with Gen speed they are going to acomplish with re-doing the maps, and at the same time making them smaller.
I think they would gain a lot by decresing the amount of pallets available to survivors as well, so then it becomes a resource the survivors have to be careful not to waste too quickly rather than "heh - havn't been to this part of the map yet = 5 more pallets"

So doing Gens = Bullying? Cool.
Can we stop to use those words when the other side is simply playing the game in a normal way? Thank you.
I like it when you respond to things in a tone that proves your apart of the problem.

I don't like flashlight clicking because it interfere's with my ability to hear sounds - which, you know, is an extremely important tool for Killer. At the same time it's annoying. This goes for the same with the survivors that notification spam. Other than that it's annoying and bad manners. While playing Killer to begin with is the most stressful part of the game, you have to face these survivors who are too ignorant to understand that without you they won't get to play the game at all.
It's almost like the majority of survivors don't care if the Killers all just stopped playing. Apart of why I play survivor more now. Killer just isn't fun anymore, and you don't even get respect after dealing with the bs. I'll happily face bby killers as a red rank 1 survivor because none of the seasoned killers play anymore.
-
@Peanits End the debates. Delete Key's and Mori's. Make Yellow Mori basekit if the survivor was at least hooked twice that match.

@Gonourakuto said:
I play in red rank on PC and outside of Adrenaline i never see any other "second chances" perk too often and even Adrenaline is pretty uncommon to come upon , its like brand new part before its nerf or insta heal it was really barely ever used but killers still cried about it because they MIGHT come upon it once in a rainbow moon
in the last 100 games i played as survivors i must have seen maybe 1 or 2 ds and same for unbreakable and maybe 20 to 30 Adrenaline
I rarely see anyone complain about Adrenaline. Is this a bait thread? People are complaining about;
Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, and Dead Hard
As the biggest contenders. Since they effectively grant Survivor A or B immunity when they make mistakes, or perform reckless actions like "bum rushing the hook".
Other second chance perks that have more rare situations, but really shouldn't be rewarding players for playing poorly or recklessly are;
Unbreakable, Sprint Burst, Quick and Quiet, and Iron Will.
Another complaint players have are with the perks that have become too powerful making it impossible for the Killer to have control over their objective;
Saboteur
Players also have perks that grant them above and beyond information than any perk a Killer has available creating a larger unfair advantage;
Object of Obsession, Kindred, Spine Chill, Detectives Hunch
While all the while having perks that greatly benefit playing with friends while at the same time by using communication third party programs effectively have more perks than the Killer (not needing to take information perks at all);
Object of Obsession, Full Team w/ Borrowed Time, Unbreakable, Saboteur, Prove Thyself
Survivors in general just have more powerful perks than the Killer can take, creating a large gap of balance in a game where the Killer should be by all means the more powerful entity in a Trial. These perks render the Killer powerless. Though Adrenaline can be added to the list for the situations that it is a prolem, for example when a Killer is gen rushed, and a survivor can loop recklessly since the last gen is just going to heal them without requiring any work to gain that kind of reward.

See finally I'm not the only one who think it's kinda weak
Well it's obvious he's one of the weakest killers in the game. All of his abilities take a charge up time to perform, and at the same time he takes extremely well in advance planning to utilize his primary ability which is the "Of the Abysss". I would sooner suggest you ignore anyone who respondes with the idea that it's balanced, because it's not. He takes too much time in using his abilties alone to have enough pressure in any aspect of the game against good survivors.
What I want to know is the builds people use to compensate that. Obviously he can't use a direct hook to hook build, he needs to use some kind of hook to slug build, or slugging build to be even remotely stable. I want to know what perks / add ons are run on it to balance that.
-
@Peanits said:
I do, and from what I see playing as survivor, a lot of other killers do as well (been running Kindred & Open Handed recently so it's really easy to keep track of). What I find more often than not is that my teammates or the survivors I'm going against are way too altruistic and unhook the second the killer walks away, so at some point they rightfully start to play more defensively and expect someone to go running in for the unhook.
There's definitely some people out there who camp no matter what, but I've noticed that most of the time, it's because people keep sprinting in the second they leave and force the killer to camp.
But lets be real, you also main Huntress and can ignore safe loops, so having to remain within the vincity of hooked survivors doesn't normally apply to you at all - since you can down survivors much quicker than other Killers.
-
I leave hooks when playing Freddy. I run Make Your Choice, and hook people next to generators. So when you make the save I simply tele back to the gen and then insta down the savior. It really sucks if the survivor tries to heal off hook. Completely counters we'll make it, and the dream world completely counters borrowed time.
Play safe survivors.
-
Anyone wanna drop me some build idea's, and add ons to use? Or maps he is best at? I'm working on trying to make this Killer as viable as I can before I even mention an opinion.
Right now i'm seeing him as the weakest Killer, but I want to see more feedback first.

Again, I'm not asking people to be depressed and stare at a wall for 15 days, you can play DBD all you want. Why a BP event?
But as I said before, I agree not to call it "The Coronavirus Bloodpoint Fest!" or something like that, but maybe "Awareness Event" or something similar could work.
@Coder said:

I see your point, however I don't understand the discussion about numbers. I mean, take the World Trade Center attack for example. 3k people died, and it was like 20 years ago. Is it OK for me to ask for a new skin? Lets say a "World Trade Center Huntress" skin (two smoking buildings instead of horns) because people are seriously asking for a "Coronavirus plague" skin. Something is not right here.
I mean, 9/11 was 20 years ago and it killed less people than the Corona, is it ok for me not to take it seriously because numbers or because people die every day?
I'm not sure what you are trying to get at with this thread. People want a BP event during the quarentine of the coronavirus, but I highly doubt anyone wants it called the "Coronavirus Event", or a plagueskin called "the Coronovirus skin". However you seem to agree that BHVR having an event to bring some positivity to bad situation to be a good thing. That's literally all anyone is asking for, you don't have to go for peoples throut about it - we all want the same thing.
I wouldn't compare coronavirus to 9/11. 9/11 was an incident that caused many grevious deaths in an instant. Coronavirus is an epicdemic that is effecting countries across the world, and the only people at risk are the elderly, or people whom already have respitory issues. They are two totally different things.
If you're gonna accuse some threads of even existing I expect you to atleast provide the proof. I will personally go and tell a guy "No" to the idea of a plauge skin named "Coronavirus".

Slugging takes less time than hooking, and creates the same scenario as hooking a survivor does. You're literally cutting out the middle man - you moving the body to a hook, hooking them, and then losing points for having the hook apart of your patrol. With slugging you can leave them on the ground, patrol as normal, and still get better results if you're good at playing killer - since you're wasting less time.
Playing as killer - every second counts, and if you are moving bodies for 10-20 seconds between 20-40 second or more chases, then you've wasted a lot of time.
Also better survivors are not adept at combating slugging as they are with hooks, because it's believed that you win by hooking and sacrificing all survivors. When really you can slug 4, hook 2, let those two die, then let the last two off. Chase, down, hook exchange, and repeat till you win - basically farming off the last two survivors for easier pip's.
-
I've said it once, and I'll say it a million times BHVR has big competition over the horizon and they are clearly not doing due diligence to combat it. So much, it would be easy to assume they are pulling back on the reins - milking as much money from the current playerbase as they can, and then continue with a cult following after the triple A companies take the asymetrical scene. If they are planning on competing for the best asymtrical game than they would be balancing the game so EVERYONE can have fun, not just entitled survivors.
So anyways I am waiting to see which direction they take when the next games comes, and if BHVR let's Dead by Daylight take the same course Deathgarden did.
-
I play Trapper, and make "The Trap House", and have yet to be banned.
Also you don't get banned for a single offense, for any reason. It would require him to perform something that breaks the code of conduct multiple times before he get's a ban, and to be honest based on how many people I see still telling people to self harm, and being racist. I think you can get by with ALOT of reports before even being considered to be banned.

Please leave. Thanks.
No I think i'll stay. I still think that a bp event not only would encourage positivity, awareness, and benefit for the company during a hard time. It's not my fault you wanna be a negative nancy and get butthurt about it.
-
@Rivyn said:
Because it would require work. They've said they want to 'balance as they go,' and 'if a new perk seems to favor swf, they won't do it.' That's easier than going back over components already in place and adjusting them. I know they could do it, Kindred is a great example, but it's really their only example, sadly.
Though 1 player taking Kindred on a SWF is 100x stronger than a solo taking Kindred for themself. Buffing a perk into a stronger information perk doesn't close the gap between solo and swf, it just makes solo and swf stronger equally. SWF is so strong not becuase they get the best use out of perks (that's a great benefit) but it's because they can play with the equivelent of additional perks for free for information. Meaning they can optimize on second chance perks even more.
I hope I explained that well for anyone to understand. @Peanits
The one and only issue is that solo does not have the same tool as swf and that is voice communication. Once that gets added for solo's, and then dev's start balancing around SWF the game will become more fun for Killers, and the matchmaking will start to balance out to where it's supposed to be - making rank easier to balance, and thus making it more fun for solo's.
-
I think your taking the thought a bit too seriously. It wouldn't hurt, it would be a fun a event when many (and I mean many) people are being reccomended to remain indoors (Please for everyones sake stay indoors). All at the same time BHVR can make some extra profit which would only go into making the game even better in the long run.
There literally is no downside unless you be negative minded and accuse everyone of being bad people just because they thought of a fun idea to do while everyone is stuck indoors. Kind of like that kid that get's mad and cries when they first get shot in a water fight, and demands to go inside because they don't like being wet.
-
If Corona is gonna take me, than at least let it be with max BP.
-
I don't know if it's an issue with taking in statistics that are too broad, but the statistics they revealed to the public was a comparison of a 4man swf or solo. Like as if 2 man and 3 man swf didn't exist, which common sense would say that when playing normally you are playing survivor with friends, unless you are a survivor main that tries to farm BP off solo survivor. Which at that point anyone with common sense would play Killer knowing that they would have a better solo experience and gain more bp from it even if they lose.
Honestly I don't know why they refuse to balance the game around swf, or at least add a voice chat to the game like League, Overwatch, or many other games have.
inb4 the "I don't want to listen to 12 year olds yelling at me" or "I don't want to hear people blaring music" comments - like as if you couldn't mute them.
"No one will use it anyways" - Then that is your choice not to use the tools provided to you, the majority play with at least 1 other person.
"I wouldn't use it" - That is also your choice.
-
Should I remind everyone that Killers don't actually care about a 4k, they care if they have fun, and losing 2-3 gens at the start of the match isn't fun. Running in a circle more than once is not fun. Punishing a survivor for playing recklessly and then gettting punished for it is not fun.
Do I need to go on or are you toxic entitled minds satisfied yet? Though probably you will just quote this trying to tell me how i'm wrong and that the game is fair that you can 4 man bully any Killer you want.
