If the Killer is face camping then you shouldn't be attempting a save.
The mechanic isn't there to give survivors free unhooks for the killer existing on the map.
So standing 10 mts from the hook, mainly if it's a nurse or blight, it's not considered camping? It's just "existing on the map"? Ok them.

Thats for anti face camping. That's solely to prevent the rare occurrences where a killer would just park himself in melee range of the hook. It was mostly a mechanic focused on stopping bubba one shot campers.
Protecting a hook in itself is literally one of the killer's objectives. The devs have stated this many times. That's also why survivors get bonus points for doing a safe unhook rescue. Even the score system keeps in mind a safe unhook vs an unsafe (guarded) unhook.
With anti face camp, it gives survivors a chance to get in without taking guaranteed damage before the unhook. Essentially allows for some wiggle room for rescues.
That's ridiculous. He can just stand there and when a survivor comes close he'll just approach to the hook since a survivor being around the hook pauses the bar. So it nullifies everything you just said.

-The dash is too strong. It's like pig's dash, but WAAAY stronger. I think there's a reason why pig dash is the way it is, it's "balanced" (And I used to play pig A LOT, she was like my 2nd or 3rd most used killer) it's situational, while the dash with Chucky can be done in almost every situation. It's hard to dodge or counter, you just have to take the hit most of the time. Once people start using it correctly, it's going to feel as cheap as Nurse playing against a Chucky Main.
-The pallet vault is also stronger than, for instance, legion or wesker. Wesker's vault lets you get to a window, chucky doesn't, he can almost instantly down you.
-The undetectable feature is unnecessary, he's already small and doesn't make constant noices like Victor, he's too silent, Victor makes continuous grunts so you can pinpoint where he's at even if you don't see him, chucky is small and you can't hear him other than some sporadic laughter.

There is literally no anti camping feature in the game. What are you going on about? Not to mention guarding a hook is literally one of the killer's objectives.
Then what is that bar for?

Well bHVR is implementing a anti three gen function to stop future 3 genners and they are likely going to or doing so atm, reworking it.
Are there any updates on that? The only thing I heard on a past stream was like "they'll add a new feature" but then no update whatsoever about that.

More disconnects. This time like 30 segundos into the new map.

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record on this, but BHVR really needs to release some sort of hotfix that nerfs her ability to do this. At least until her rework is ready. She would be better being weaker than she already is, instead of being able to drag matches on till players fall asleep.
My Hotfix: Limit any match with the Skunk Merchandiser to 20 minutes. If she hasn't killed you by the time 20 minutes has passed, the game ends and any alive survivors escape. Is it a perfect fix? No. Could BHVR come up with something better? Yes. Would it be better than what we have now? 100%.
Not a fan of that, people can just hide and win.
I'd go with the drones. Like giving her a cooldown to place a drone after another one has been hacked. Or maybe remove the condition that survivors can't enter the detection zone if they have bracelets. That way she can't just spam drones and survivors can only watch how the gen regresses. They should be able to enter the zone and hack again.

Same, PC, Steam. I constantly get this error. Sometimes the match loads, sometimes it doesn't load.

People like you are the ones causing division by hating certain group of people and lumping them into a stereotype.
Just look at your hateful posts. You are far from being a nice person you think you are. Ironically you are all the things you call others to be but you lack self awareness to see it.
Well, if "people like me" are the problem, more reasons for not adding a US charm. You're just helping my argument here.

Well none of those things are true, I can assure you. I would suggest you do thorough, unbiased research of your own. I majored in political science and would love to debate this with you, but this is not the place.
There would be no harm in me having an American flag charm, or you a charm of whatever country you hail from. At the end of the day, it’s just another form of expression and representation.
It's sad that you majored in political sciences, yet you fail to see the problem here. That's just a naive view of the subject.

I understand where you are coming from.
In terms of your healthcare comment.. my rebuttal (statistically proven) is our healthcare, while not universally free, is unmatched in quality. Success rates in treatment are much higher here than places that have universal HC, not to mention much higher wait times. But that’s besides the point. All of it is free for me anyway. (I am military. Lol)

The image is anecdotic. I could have used the Nurse portrait and it would still be the same, we all know why she needs a rework. If you don't, maybe it's because you main nurse and enjoy stomping on solos with minimum effort and/or you just don't care.

Cool, unfortunately I literally do not care. I like Blast Mine, it's funny, and I want people to kick my Generators.
Pop Goes is fine the way it is either way, coming from someone who plays SoloQ a lot, their are far more problematic/frustrating things in the game than PGTW.
Good for you if you like blast mine, what doesn't make sense is why you bring it up on a thread about PGTW. It's unrelated, it's not even a counter, you just felt like bringing it up because you like the perk I guess.
And "there are worse things" is whataboutism. There isn't only ONE developer changing the game, the fact that other things are worse doesn't mean Pop is ok.
-
@Iron_Cutlass said:
I disagree... mainly since I use Blast Mine.
Let them kick my Generator. They take my progress, I take their eye retinas.
1) you can't blast mine every generator.
2) the rate of your blast mine is lower than the rate of a pop
3) it's a 5 second stun and then what? how many blast mines in a game? 3? that's 15 seconds against 2 or 3 extra gens worth of time.
Useless solution.

wow, bad teammates ae giving the killer pressure and perk value! So unheard of! This means PGTW is overpowered and has no counterplay because players are bad. I never knew soloQ controlled balance!
not PGTWs fault your teammates suck.
I've read people like you already, a million times, you're all the same with your short minded answers.
DS needs rework: jUsT sLuG!!!
Dead hard needs rework: jUsT bAiT iT!!!!
Pop needs to be reworked: jUsT dOnT gO dOwN!!!!
Guess what? I was right about DS, dead hard, call of brine + overcharge, pain res, and more. I don't come here to cry because I lose a match, I KNOW when things don't add up, I've been playing this game long enough and I was right every single time. Pop is the next example, just wait and see.
-
@nars said:
PGTW isnt broken. It has a strong effect now because it has a hard activation requirement. The counter to pop is to just not go down, it only gets value if you get hooked. Also split up on gens he can only kick one. It already has a hard limit, the amount of hooks you get. If the survivors are better than you you get less value. If the killers better, he gets more value. If hes pressuring people off of gens he gets less regression. It does a lot in an equally matched game, less in games where you stomp, and a great amount if you are getting stomped (not that one pop will turn it around). Its only remotely broken when tunneling, like you said when someones out early. Something the devs are already looking in to.
Also, pain resonance wasnt an issue either. it was very balanced. it rewarded good play (quick chases and hooks) with strong regression. if you were snowballing hard you got lots of value, something survivors could prevent by being skilled themselves. Which leads into it punishing bad survivor play. Like PGTW, it does a lot more if you are a lot better than them. Only broken with tunneling which is why it got nerfed.
honestly once tunnelings a non issue I want them both reverted to their og forms.
"The counter to pop is to just not go down"
Oh, it was that easy? I didn't know that, thanks. I'll tell my solo Q teammates that next time. I can't believe I didn't think of that before.

It's not the fault of the survivors! It's the developers' fault! The knight and the skull merchant at the very beginning choose 3 generators and simply patrol them, dragging out the game for 30-60 minutes. The survivors initially have no chance against them, and the knight and the merchant can simply abuse the victories since no one will ever fix this generator. I'm so tired of these killers and I don't think I'll be back in the game anytime soon. At least until they fix this nonsense.
Nobody likes this kind of gameplay! Why can a knight use his guards to break the generator that the survivors are actively repairing? Why does the skull trader just cost afk and accumulate vulnerability on survivors. And most importantly THEY CHOOSE 3 GENERATORS FROM THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE GAME AND PATROL THEM AND YOU WILL NEVER REPAIR THESE 3 GENERATORS! They have already won! Just take a hero and win! Great game guys! The problem is even that toolboxes with new parts and perks to speed up repairs will not help. The only control against this is to exit this game.

I just played an hour match of this game because of this 3gen meta - what were developers thinking when they thought of changing killers meta? the previous meta was so healthy for killers, Pop made it worthy winning a chase, Corrupt was fine, so was Ruin and Undying (the only problem totems had was spawn, and it is still the same nowadays).
Knight and The Skull Merchant are just unfunny to play against with. What kind of skill is camping an area of gen? and why are the range of these killers' powers so big? These killers are literally the most boring killers BHVR ever has designed gameplay-wise. At this point, I would rather play a match with a very good Nurse or Blight or Spirit that can destroy a team in less than 5 minutes than playing against these last two released killers.
They are not even strong - they are just badly designed to the point they keep you in a match for more than 30 minutes for no reason. I hope the "next meta shakeup" changes this genrush meta vs 3gen meta cause this is what this game is turning into. Stop nerfing healthy metas and start focusing buffing useless perks and nerfing OP perks as well as items/addons for both sides.

What is the point you're trying to make exactly? That he should be nerfed because he can be strong when you compare him to weak killers and ignore his weaknesses (like how his power is almost useless at many loops)?
No.
You can compare him with almost any killer. Even with, arguably, the best killer in the game, Nurse.
She blinks and goes to fatigue, THAT'S IT.
Could you Imagine if nurse had either a slow down mechanic (like a virus or infection),
Or a passive way to locate survivors,
Or if she misses a blink she could be right on your tail for the next blink (like when whesker misses a dash to a window he'd automatically vault and be right behind you).
Or a larger TR, so "Starstruck Nurse" would be an even worse issue.
Or insta downs under certain conditions (like fully infected survivors can be insta grabbed with a dash).
Or if she could hit two survivors at once,
Or if she could stop you from leaving at the exit gates...
Any of those, any.
My point is that Wesker has a full pack of small things that make him already unbalanced and way strong, and when "Wesker mains" start popping up in the next months, believe me, you'd beg for a match against a Starstruck Nurse on Midwich instead of playing against any of them. And I didn't even mention his addons.

@BearMerchant said:
I think they need to remove the killer instinct when cleansing with a spray, yeah. He's way too good at tunneling and he does not need the benefit of free information when he's already a hyper mobile killer.
Exactly, that's mostly my point. He has too much going for him. He's already good at tunneling and chases, he also has information to tunnel. Not to mention the game slow down (survivor needing to go somewhere to do something instead of just jumping on gens like with almost the rest of the killers) and all the stuff I mentioned on the original post.

T3 perks are not an issue in my opinion. I UNDERSTAND a player wants all of them to play all the possible combinations!
The issue is: the game was made with limited resources you can burn in order to have some advantages during the game: addons, equipments, offerings....
Some are better than the others, you can't always use the best tools because they are limited.
Now, all this part is pointless, why should i ever use a brown TB when i have 200 yellow? Why should i use a yellow when i have 50 green? The issue was the perks were in the same bloodweb with depletable resources. In order to make all the perks accessible to everyone now the addons, the offering and the equipments are infinite.
And now the same streamers that complained about the grinding (when they already had infinite stuff, they complained about the grinding because was easy and popular), now they complein that in high MMR every surv is carrying commodius or purple medkits with syringe.
.... i honestly preferred how it was before....
I agree that the distribution of items is somewhat wrong, people having a million of brown addons/items is not ideal. What I'm talking about is mostly perks unlocking, it's waaay easier with the new update and it does feel like the grind has been reduced.
Is it perfect? By no means, but I don't agree with "i honestly preferred how it was before". I guess we have different views on this one, I think the grind could and should be perfected but at least it's better than before.
Still, this post is about the bloodweb speed, not really about the grind. I think they're two separate issues.
-
@Zolfo16 said:
I never agreed with the grinding reduction but it was unpopular opinion.
You often already were able to buy more thing than the ones you spent, you already had to stay a lot on the blood web, you already reached a point, not that far, where you have countless iri stuff, more than you can use.
Now ultra rares aren't rare at all, i can play always with double iri and mori if i want, no issue, this is the reason why at high level survs always carry the best toolbox or the best medikits and the killers are always with their best addons.
Now, if you play every day you have to stay 15 minutes to burn the BP or you reach the cap.
For what? Because people wanted to be able to have every perk on every character? Was that mandatory? If you wanted that you had to grind a lot and this was fine in my eyes, only a minor part of the players, the hard grinders, were able to always carry the best equipment. Now everyone is.
What is the point in growing and collecting stuff if, after 2 months you are playing you have everything and you start collecting infinite doubles? Dunno. The only change i liked was the cap moved from 1M to 2M. I do not even understand why there should be a cap.
I can actually see that the grind reduction is there. I see it every day with my survivors, it is definitely waaay easier to unlock perks at Tier 3. Yes, there is still a grind, but it has clearly been reduce it. I was also skeptical when it was announced (I always thought removing perk tiers was the solution) but even thou there is still a grind, it's way better than what it was.
The problem now is the bloodweb, it's too slow, it requires you to be for 20 minutes in front of a screen clicking stuff, that's the most opposite of "fun" I can think of. Spending 2M bloodpoints should take you, at best, 5 minutes.

You either buy it like that, or you do it manually if you dont like it skipping some add ons you need in it.
Yes, it would be nice an "autobuy the rest". Let's say you're presented with a bloodweb, you get a perk you're interested in and a flashlight. You buy both and then "autobuy the rest".
What's even the point of manually buying the first 9 levels of any bloodweb if the entity is not even fighting against you for items?

The endgame nerf DS received is fine.
But nerfing its stun duration was a mistake 100%.
Sort of exactly my point, and I've been saying this for a long time.
If you didn't get to use your DS during the match it probably means the killer played "nice" and didn't tunnel you throughout the game, so it's pretty unfair that they have to eat all DSs during the end game while trying to grasp a last kill, the game is over, 5 gens were done, so probably everyone already had a GG, whether you live or die. That's kinda fair. But the 3 second is an overkill.

That's mainly my point. If you want to win as killer, you'll win, no matter the team unless they're some comp 4 man swf mambo jambo. Against 4 solo is a guarranteed victory every time, even if they're outplaying you, you just tunnel them out and that's it. Where's the challenge as killer if survivors have little to no chance of survival? Should I "go easy on them" and start running weak perks? Why should I be the one responsible for balancing the game?

Talking about nerfing gen speed perks is just the next attempt to push devs changing the game in "SWF SWAT the Game" (a game when they can finish all the gens in 3 minutes and spamming gg ez at the end of the match. Wow so fun. But it's the killer's fault (just apply pressure 4head). (insert spongebob chicken meme here).

No, I can't figure it out, unless I check their steam profiles or matching names. And even then, maybe they're just a goofy 3 man SWF trying to have fun and I destroy them.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
Well, you should go easy on survivors honestly. Game is supports killers after update. I destroyed even 4 man SWFs without challange, survivors feels very weak without Dead Hard and DS.
That's like saying to a 4 man SWF "well, if you think the game is unbalanced, then go easy on killers, the game is balanced, you're the problem, not BHVR."
-
@Remedicist said:
They probably just need to nerf slowdown perks. I've noticed games are a lot more fair and fun when I've been using 0-1 slowdowns compared to an entire build of them. And technically it should be that way where the base-game is more fair for both sides. That shows balance, for the most part, from just normal gameplay without any perks. Perks should boost certain playstyles but never be overpowered individually or stacked where it makes games unfun or remove skill and that is why I think slowdown perks should be looked at more (along with map design and base survivor information).
Totally agree. When you run 1 slow down perk, the match is balanced. But if I stack 3 slow downs they stand little chance. Some even DC or ask me to kill them.
-
@DCh4rlie said:
You kind of said it yourself... swap off those gen regression perks.
The thing is, when you run regression is because you're preparing yourself against good teams, but in the mean time you stomp 10 regular teams just in case you get a 4 man SWF. And probably if you don't have regression, you'd get rekt when you face them. So it's mostly a matter of maximizing your chances.
-
@konchok said:
Yeah, playing killer is unfulfilling right now. I also don't feel like I've accomplished anything. Survivor is the opposite, every win feels like a major accomplishment.
This is exactly how I feel. Stomping survivors at 4 gens is boring for me, there is no challenge. I want the game to be challenging, not because of a discord 4man SWF, but because the game itself presents it challenging for me.
-
@Marigoria said:
Am I the only one that thinks the "nerf" didnt really solve anything?
My problem with iri head was never the fact that she could still stack 4/5 hatchets, it was because even noobs with no aim can just get behind you and insta down you with it.
Now, even though she can only carry one, people with no aim can still just get close to you and insta down.
A way better rework for the addon would make it similar to deathslinger's Iri coin, where she would only insta down you if she was at least 15 meters away. I would have no issue with her being able to carry all the hatchets that way, and it would reward people who actually have aim and can hit long distance hits.
I actually think it's balanced this way, unless the huntress is god tier, you can easily juke a hatchet and that's it, it's a 110% killer (or a 115% with that other iri addon). Still, your idea about the iri button might be even stronger than how it is now, depending on the distance. it's not hard or uncommon for a good huntress to hit a survivor at, let's say, 15 mt. It could get out of hand giving that you'd allow more hatchets with a distance condition.
Again, I see it fine as it is, and not a lot of people complain, just don't let her get close. Same as bubba, you can't complain he's OP because "if he's close it's 100% a down"

I main Doc, and this is why I never use the Iri king or queen. I just find them so sweaty and in general I see them on bad Doctors that don't know how to counter the loops. If you're good with a killer, you don't need the iri addons to sweat, you don't even need addons in general, but just not to handicap yourself you just throw a yellow and a green and you're good to go.

But I find it funny that even the person (EDIT: just noticed it was the original poster hahaha makes it even more pathetic) who copied & pasted what the add-on does left out the bit about the scratchmarks no longer being visible, cause it would make their argument ######### if they included that part of the description. I agree it would be totally OP if it had scratchmarks on top of killer instinct.. but removing those means survivors can get away easily in chases if you think they took a left and they went right instead. Of course there's no way for the survivors to know you have that add-on until the match is over, but it's that way with most add-ons anyway.

Actually it seems our OP believes the opposite. I'll admit, I don't play spirit, and so my experience with her is trying to survive against, so I wasn't fully aware of that either, definitely good to know and adds counterplay.
I find it funny that you both don't play spirit, and you seem to be right somehow. Spirit is the 5th killer I play the most, and I stopped using that addon because people were DCing and I was even called a hacker once. It's disgusting. And for me it was just so easy it was boring, I had to farm or let the last survivors go most of the time.
Still, I find it funny that you guys have no idea what you're talking about, you don't play the killer and yet complain about "Lol, gotta love the DbD forums, right?".
Exacty, you gotta love people that think they're right about something they don't know anything about and they're proud of their own ignorance.

After playing so much with base Add-ons or no Add-ons, DCB confused the ######### out of me. Though it's clear that MDR + DCB is an incredibly overpowered Add-on combo, even more broken than MDR+Yakuyoke, which was the most broken combo before the Spirit "nerf", and this combo didn't even change, so she now has something even stronger.
I'm glad someone with a Spirit profile pic can agree that the MDS+DCB is insanely strong. You just hit a survivor, phase and it's almost guarranteed to be found, and even if they make it to a pallet, you can use MDR to quickly go around and find them.

I hardly ever play her, and never use her good add-ons, just browns or yellows, cause I don't care about being a tryhard..
I'll edit that for you, just copy/pasted incorrectly, it wasn't my intention. Still, it's not that scratch marks disappear, it's that NEW scratch marks are no longer visible, you still see residual scratchmarks which give you a rough idea of where they're going, and paired with mother-daughter ring you don't need them because they don't go too far and you pinpoint their location with DCB.

I know that is how it currently is.
I also know that the only real constant in this game (aside from people on both sides complaining when they lose) is change.
As long as you can still only bring 2 add-ons into the match, there's no real reason I can think of to limit the number of iri addons to 2. Giving spirit a 3rd iri (or rather upgrading one add-on to iri) won't significantly change balance on the whole, as she can still only bring 2 add-ons, but would make it cost more and appear on the bloodweb less, which would balance the perk cost to the effect.
Are you actually suggesting to add a third addon just for spirit and just to fit your argument??? So Spirit will be the only one in the game with 3 iri addons because you said so?
Man, that's a stretch. The addon should be reworked, period. The devs have already reworked strong addons without the need to change the rarities amounts. The addon is even stronger than the iri that recharges your power when breaking a pallet. You could argue to move the Teacup to a lower tier and replace it with this addon, still it doesn't change the fact that it's unbalanced AF.

So what, that's the one unchanging and unchangeable rule?
Hmmm... yes?
Why? you didn't know that? The amount for each rarity is fixed for all killers, there can only be two iri addons and 4 very rare (and I don't remember the amount of the rest of the rarities)
I don't think you're thinking this through before just spamming answers from the top of your head. Just give it a moment, analyze the problem, maybe try the addon for a few matches and hopefully a few matches against it and then come back, maybe then we can have a discussion with some more educated arguments.

Maybe that's the fix then. Make it iri.
There can only be two iri.

At 4m, she has to be rather close to you. Far closer than the average "wall-hack" will limit to, so I really don't think it's on anything like the same level as an actual exploit/hack. The easiest way to lose an argument is to overstate it. Sure, it's super powerful, but then, it's an iridescent, so it's also the most expensive.
Iridescent addonds, imo, should always feel powerful enough to change the game. Honestly it doesn't seem to be any more powerful than Doc's King and Queen pieces, (which just the King can provide tracking well over 4m away) definitely not as powerful as tombstone, (insta-mori) and about the same level as BNP (both reduce objective time without completing it, as BNP doesn't fix the gen for you, and the flower isn't giving exposed effect). So I believe it's balanced.
Well, there are a couple of flaws in your argument. First, it's not Iridescent, it's very rare. Second of all, 4 mt is A LOT, it's an 8 mt circle around the Spirit, but she doesn't have only that, she also has scratchmarks and footsteps and moaning sounds. So she roughly follows where you are, and for the last mts she can see EXACTLY where you are. But finally, comparing it to tombstone makes your argument completely invalid, because the mechanics are different and if we had to compare every addon with tombstone then no addon should be reworked "because tombstone is stronger".
