Fixing generators in this game should be tense, if the new sound helps with that, then that is a good thing.

They have a million ways to make the game more tense, mainly adding real dangers instead of having a sound scratching your eardrums for a 80 seconds to complete a task.

I think it resets every match and by 'full health state' they mean from dying all the way to healthy. so if you dont get someone basically 2 full heal bars before the match is over you dont get it. at least thats what I think.

how can they never explain the proper way to get the achievement. its not this hard. Every time they make a new map the 'complete a specific generator on this map and make it out alive' is also bugged. literally every time. facepalm

No, a health state is a health state, from dying to healed are 2 health states. I don't know who writes the steam achievements, but he/she has serious communication problems.

  • @Nick said:

It looks to me that it only works when everyone is injured and you heal 1 person.

I'm on 3/10 (highscores says 2/10 for some reason) and I should've been on 15/10 now

Yes, that's how I got it finally (10/10). I ran empathy, and as soon as everyone was injuried (myself included) I tried to run to the closest survivor and heal him (holding shift so he doesn't want to heal me first).

Luckily and apparently, it takes partial heals, so if you heal a survivor half way, you'd be at 3.5 of the achievement (at least every time I refreshed the steam page, the progress bar would go up a little bit).

Annoying achievement to get, but I finally got them all again 161/161 :-D

  • I'm getting them... REEEEALLLY SLOWLY!

I'm at 5/10. There have been a lot of times when 3 of us were injuried and I healed someone. If that would have worked, I'd be at 30/10 by now.

The only reliable way for the achievement to work is if ALL 4 survivors to be injuried and you heal the first survivor (hoping nobody else selfcares or gets healed first).

It's really unintuitive, I don't think it works exactly as the description says, but somehow it's working sometimes.

Unfortunately neither Steam or DbD devs do anything about achievement cheaters..

Unable to find source for Steam side of things and I have never seen anyone get banned for cheating achievements.

That's really sad, achievements are something you put a lot of time and effort into, and some guy just clicks a button and gets them all. He could have even been smart and unlock them in different days so it could actually look legit.

I shouldn't really care, since if you look at the date it's clear they're not legit, but it still bugs me for all the effort it took me to get the 155/155.

    Anyways, thanks for your answer.

this happened to my friends today aswell.

they were spectating and once the EGC started / the gates got powered (idk i didnt hear it myself), they heard the sirens.

guess its a new bug feature?

So apparently if you're spectating and the EGC triggers you'd hear it but people in game won't. Interesting, maybe a bug, or maybe they put that in just for fun.

  • I'm gonna be honest, I played a lot of games as killer and surv, I only heard it on that map.

But yeah, maybe a bug. Though I really hope the devs could find a way to insert some treasure hunts into the game, like you have to finish certain gen against a huntress and a secret would unlock... something like that.

    depends on how you play

i play him like demogorgon just faking the ranged attack for free hits or using them on garnatied pallet or windows, whilst i get them all tormented but i never cage i just hook them like normal but as soon as they have been saved from struggle i can just ignore the rescuer and just straight up kill the rescued survivor

It's a good strat. But they should design killers with powers fun to use, not killers whose most effective strat is not to use the power. Same thing is happening with PH.

You are correct sir Bubba is A tier. Also you want a reason that Pyramid head isn't C tier?!!?!?

    I got nothing

He has something other killers don't. He can tunnel, that could be huge at the right time, it could even win you the match, but as chase potential, his secopndary attack is not hard to dodge and it really punishes you if you miss, unlike Demo's shred for instance.

"His M2 attack is very decent if you understand how to use it properly" - tell me what you mean by "using properly"

"Itts a gauranteed hit even with LOS-Blockers."- his power is everything but a guaranteed hit. Its incredibly sluggish, takes time to actually hit the sruvivor, and you can't walk normally and backwards which makes you bump into something and you must cancel it because you cant see anything. Adding to the fact that it is so slow that sometimes you cant catch survivors mid animation.

" Also his cages counter nearly all perks survivors can use to defend themselfs when unhooking." - You can cage the survivors if they step on the trail... the problem is them stepping on it and even then they can just crouch and its like nothing happened.

Its not game sense, its purely trying a killer and analysing each situation.

"when used properly" meaning "if you land every hit, he's good". Well, that's the issue, it can easily be dodged. Is like saying "if the clown hits all his bottles, he's Top Tier". Also, this guy has an insane definition for "guarranteed hit".

  • I already got every achievement except for this one, still at 0/10.

  • @SquirrelKnight said:

Following BHVRs recent formula of allowing killers to have interesting powers with ridiculous downsides that make it feel like you are fighting the game more than the survivors. I would say he's probably going to end up in mid to low b tier. It is fairly well understood at this point that BHVR doesnt really have an interest in making s tier killers anymore since everytime they do they get heavily abused for it. They already said they dont want to lock strong perks behind paywalls, the same can probably be said for killers.

Yeah, I think that's the case. Pyramid Head was never destined to be top tier. Just another cash, a mediocre killer, mediocre perks, make money with the license and that's it, everyone will get excited for a few weeks and then is going to be at the bottom of the list when most people would want to play killer. Maybe one of his perks will make a meme build with some other, but that's about it.

  • @Decarcassor said:

The Executioner is a killer that appear to not want to use his powers most of the time.

Rites of Judgment does not do anything on its own, aside providing him with Killer Instinct notifications that can be complelty avoided by crouching.

Punishment of the Damned is easily dodged unless the survivor is locked in animation or in a narrow space. Its better used as bait, leading into basic attacks.

Cages of Attonement shouldn't be used in most cases as they will just send the survivors into an unfavorable position where they will be easily and quickly rescued. Furthermore in cases where you would want to use them, you might not be able to since its not that hard to avoid the Torment status effect.

Maybe there is some incredible perk combo out there that nobody has figured out yet, that would make Pyramid Head amazing, but so far, on paper it does not look good.

I'm pretty sure people will find crazy meme builds, like Nemesis+PWYF on bubba for instance, but as a killer, his main problem is his mobility, it's like a Clown, it has a power that helps you in chases, but still won't win you the match.

Billy's power wins you the match. Nurse's power wins you the match. Clown's power doesn't, even though in paper his power would mean that you'll end chases in a couple of seconds, somehow Clown is D-Tier. I think is the same problem with PH, he has no mobility, he's a basic M1 killer, and "in paper" his power will help you end chases, but you'll still get gen rushed or, if you miss, the survivor is getting away (you don't even have that with clown)

  • I FINALLY got it. My God this adept was a real TORMENT (get it?)

I had to sort of tunnel 2 people and then I got a 3-gen and toyed around with the last two, I only killed them when I knew I could locate them both and I knew where the hatch was. I tried this last match, it didn't work because one of them got bored and suicided.

Once I had 2 left and I had the 3-gen I started hiting and downing them using his power to gain deviousness points.

  • @HP150 said:

Just wish his cages were applicable in more situations. Half of the time they will hand deliver the caged survivors to teammates since other survivors tend to steer clear of the killer + one being chased, while denying you BBQ & Chili / Pop-goes-the-weasel, so you basically hold it unless there's another survivor in your immediate vicinity. Situational. Way too situational for a debuff you have to apply before-hand.

You won't be raw-hitting decent survivors with his ranged attack; it's best to use it at windows and pallets, but it's strongest asset is being able to bait Survivors into dodging while closing the distance, similar to Demogorgon or Deathslinger... But at that point why not play one of those 2? Demo has map mobility, Deathslinger has a small TR, Pyramid Head has... cages?

Those are my first impressions at least.

I think Demo is better, easier, more fun and less frustrating to use than PH.

In the game where I almost got merciless I made the mistake of using his power to hit a survivor that vaulted at shack. She made so much distance on me due to the cooldown + the fact I was further back. I had to drop chase. I was punished for using my power. -_-

That's the problem with his power, it's not really THAT strong to deserve that punishment. You're already at a certain distance from the survivor, and his cooldown makes them win even MORE distance.

I think powers that are strong should have a punish/big cooldown, like billy's or bubba's chainsaw (which can insta-down) or nurse (which has the strongest chase potential). But PH's power give you one hit, not a down. It's sort of like Demo's Shred or a huntress hatchet, the cooldown of those won't let the survivor go to another jungle gym or make you lose the chase.

Rarely a huntress's hatchet miss let the survivor gain an insane amount of distance. Keep in mind distance is time on gens.

I feel your pain. I've been trying to do the adept achievement for like few hours already and I feel like I'm going insane. This killer's gameplay is so boring, you can't use your power, because it's so easily dodgeable yet missing is so punishing; you have to play with his perks which I believe can harm you (revealing your position after kicking a gen); and every second game is on the new map which is complete trash. I feel like quiting dbd after this update.

Dude, this game is trolling me.

Image 20200616203822 1 hosted in ImgBBB

I want to punch in the face whoever designed this killer. This is the most frustrating adept ever, and I even suck with nurse and huntress and those adepts were easy. I'm done for today.

Yup. It sucks cuz Im a solid red rank killer and have no issues securing my 4ks. But PH has NOTHING to work with.

Some of the hardest adepts have at least one or two good perks. PH has ######### all.

    Thanks, BHVR.

At red ranks, I 4k with bubba, pig, myers, wraith (in fact I feel like an unofficial wraith main), but this adept is painful man. He's a basic M1 killer with no helpful perks and an insanely awkward and detrimental power.

  • I remember doing Deathslinger's adept (which is not a top-tier killer) and it took me like 2 or 3 matches. Doing PH's adept, I think I've already played 15 matches, and it's insanely frustrating at red ranks. I've even tried tunneling a few survivors to remove early pressure, it's useless, they gen rush even more.

I think I'll leave the adept for when the add the early game mechanic. It was probably the most frustrating session of DBD in a while, and I face sweaty SWFs all the time.

  • @Orionbash said:

    He's B tier with perks.

I'm doing adept and its so painful at red ranks. I have nothing in my kit that's actually useful.

I can agree. I remember using good perks in the PTB and he might be B-tier at best. Doing the adept is insanely frustrating, even with a memento mori people gen rush as hell. And if you miss a few attacks you lose the game.

  • @YaiPa said:

putting a killer in tier list at day one doesn't make sense, since meta strategies still haven't been tried or discovered.

I'm judging him for that the killer is. It's like saying bubba is A-Tier because of PWYF strat.

  • It has been suggested by Scott Jund in the last video.

I mean, it's pretty obvious reasoning that a lot of people came up with the same idea, if the survivor can move his objectives forward, so should the killer. As simple as that. DS should be a chance to find a teammate, or go to the corner of the map to heal, like a "time out", which is fair, but it's ridiculous that they go straight to rush gen with no risk at all.

Also, I'd deactivate it after the 5th gen pops or if an exit gate is opened. If I played "nice" the whole match, I let people unhook, repair, heal, they all did their points, for that (not camping or tunneling) I probably relegated some pressure, it's really unfair that I have to eat all the DS in the end game.

Okay, so there are a lot of survivor perks that, fairly or not, get called "second-chance perks". I think that's something most people can agree on, regardless of whether or not they actually are second chance perks.

So are there any killer perks that people, specifically survivor mains, consider second chance perks? If so, why? I'm genuinely curious. Other than NOED I've never really considered any killer perk to be a second-chance perk, but maybe I just haven't thought about it enough.

And I don't care if the perk is meta or weak, overpowered and unfair or laughably difficult to activate, all I want to know is: What are the perks that you think give killers a second chance?

Well, it all depends on your point of view, I believe Spirit Fury are second chance perks for killer. I mean, you didn't loop correctly and I got the stun, which means I "win" the loop. But no... it turns out you have a perk that destroys pallets and you actually won the loop.

It's the same concept as, for instance, Dead Hard, which is considered a second chance perk, the survivor lost the loop, but "Press E to survive" and magically he makes it to the pallet when he shouldn't have.

  • @Woodywool said:

You need to grab 1 survivor while he's hiding in a locker with using "Iron maiden" perk. In this archives challenge this perk is totally useless because when you're using it you can track the survivor and try to hit him with the "exposed" status effect...

But ( I think ) this challenge still can be completed without any troubles by grabbing the surv in a locker who jumped to it with the DS after he was been saved by his teammate.

I understand if this challenge looks like: "you need to hit the exposed survivor 1 time while using this perk". In this way the perk will connect to this challenge but it can be complited harder than the real "Deadly maiden" challenge.

    What do you think about?

Tunnel someone with DS into a locker, that's it. Or farm it, hit a locker until a survivor gets in.

  • @Exerlin said:

Ormond. There's just... too much going on there

I also have a lot of FPS lost on Ormond.

  • @Zarr0ch said:

The Strangers things map as killer !!!! FFFFFF

Are you serious? Hawkins Lab is one of the best killer maps. Try "All Seeying-Blood" with wraith, or even Amanda's Letter with pig or Scratched mirror Myers.

Also all pallets are unsafe, easy to mindgame.

  • Something else I'm noticing are random DCs, like people who are not ragequitting or anything, simply disconnect in the middle of the match for no apparent reason. Like a lot, like 2 or 3 per night. Yes, I know, probably they leave for reasons, but it's odd, it all feels arbitrary. I even had a guy repairing with me and disconnected without "standing up to press the LEAVE MATCH button", he was repairing and then DC.

  • @Peanits I never mention you, but this needs to be attended. I'm already at 6 hrs penalty, it's on average one DC per day.

Maybe if you get the "disconnected from server" error, lower the penalty, or maybe 3 of those disconnection meaning 1 normal DC, so people can't exploit the system nor bugged players are punished for the game being bugged.

This is the first time I passed the 5 minutes penalty and I'm already at 6hrs, and apparently it's worse for other people.

  • It doesn't, and that's the problem. The "disconnected from the server" error is common now, I even see streamers getting this error.

  • It has happened to me too with Hillbilly on pale rose, and twice with wraith at Lery's. It's really annoying, since I'm one of those killers that tries to hear even the slightest grass movement or breathing.

Every possible simple perk will be made eventually. Once they're gone, if they're not gone already, they will only be able to make perks with more conditions. On a side note, imagine calling Gearhead overly complex. Dead Man's Switch is way harder to activate and the effect is just as complicated.

I think Dead man's switch is a straight forward perk, and I'm sure it will be useful on some killers. Also, DMS is a slow down perk, while gearhead is an information perk, so even if I don't think DMS is a great perk, I think it's better than Gearhead overall.

Imagine a Freddy hooking the Obsession, you see with BBQ two or more survivors working on a gen, you TP there, they let go... and that's it, they can't work on that gen for the next 40 seconds, which gives you time to chase and hook one of those survivors. It could even work on two gens, since maybe another gen close to the hook is being worked and that surivor goes for the save without knowing. If you hook that survivor, you can even probably "pop" the gen when it's not blocked anymore. It's really good to apply momentary pressure and put the game on hold if you are lucky enough.

You sort of have control and understand when to use DMS. However, Gearhead depends on a skillcheck appearing in a 30 second window (which may not appear at all) and it only tells you which gen is being worked (it doesn't even block it like DMS, preventing survivors to finish it).

And I said Gearhead is overly complex because RELATIVELY there are more straight forward perks.

Gearhead is: Hit-->Hit-->Activates-->maybe a skillcheck will appear, maybe not-->aura highlighted. There are perks that do a better job or give you more consistent info, like BBQ, Discordance or the combo Surveillance/Ruin if you plan to protect gens.

  • Looping.

I'd rather lose a game but looping than escape just doing gens while my teammates have all the fun. Hiding and repairing are the most boring parts of the game.

  • @Cocktail said:

Is "Key" and a "Mori" skill?

They are not. However, when you use a key everyone knows that "you escaped because you had a key, or else you'd be dead". Same as "you won because you moried us all". BNPs makes it feel like gen times are fine this way and if you lose it's your fault "because you didn't pressure enough" when they literally do gens in 30 seconds. Thank God I was using Myers, if it was Wraith they'd all be tbagging at the exit gates.

This goes back to the killer being able to see the items in the lobby. If you knew 2+ toolboxes were coming in you could’ve prepped with Corrupt Intervention, Franklin’s, Discordance, even a Mori, etc. or even decided to not play the group of survivors since Killer queue times are so fast anyway.

*Note: I am in no way saying toolboxes are fair, only pointing out possible counter measures.

I don't think the answer to... anything really should be "well, if you don't like it dodge the lobby". But that's just me.

  • @Shocktober said:

Solo Q survivor is very hard. Much harder than playing killer once you have gotten good at both sides. You can't rely on your team for a damn thing.

Killer you can know what to do in each situation, and the only real challenge is going against a coordinated SWF.

Solo Q? Well, you might just hit 2nd stage or just outright die on your first hook. After someone else fed the myers tier 3 and you ate the 99% stalk.

Which ranks are we talking about?

I'm red rank killer and survivor, I'm a solo player, I never play in SWF. I don't find that particularly hard, you'll lose of course, but that doesn't mean that in general survivor is harder than killer.

Facecamping is not a valid or consistent strategy so people stop saying it, because at that point teabagging is a strategy.

People will say and do anything to ruin ones fun.

Sorry Mrs Survivor Main, you're 100% wrong.

Facecamping, camping, patrolling hooks and tunneling are game strategies, whether you like them or not, whether they're fun for you or not, wether they're consistent or not (no strategy is 100% failproof). Using DS is not fun AT ALL for the killer (mainly when you don't really deserve it) but they run that perk anyway. So stop crying if the killer camps, the killer is not there to "ensure you're having fun", he's there to kill you, to try to win the game. It's like saying "I HATE snipers in Counter Strike, I come out of a corner and they one-shot me, it's not fun".

Tbagging is NOT a strategy, its sole purpose is to mock/annoy/disrespect the killer. Unless you consider a strategy to signal to another player that you like to put your genitalia in his/her mouth so he chases you while other people do gens. If disrespecting other players is a strategy for you, I'm not surprised you get facecamped often enough to complain about it.

1 2 3 4 5 … 11
