Title might sound weird, but here's what I mean: a bit earlier today I had a leatherface facecamp already from the first survivor. we did nothing by the way, he started literally like 45 seconds in. But anyways, he hooked the first survivor, and when someone tried to save them he chainsawed them and let them lay there until the hooked one died. And then rinse and repeat, until the last survivor was down and dead. Essentially, he gave us survivors no chance to actually play the game. He took no time to chase anyone if they appeared and made sure that no one could unhook anyone. All whilst he was trolling us.

I do understand facecamping and camping itself is not bannable or punishable, but when you do it to keep the ENTIRE opposite team from actually getting to play the game I think there should be a consequence. Like a small week's ban if reported with footage or something.

Has this every happened to you and do you agree?

Nope. Facecamping is a strategy. In fact, if your team is too stupid to try to save against a facecamping bubba, the strategy is working. Just go do gens.

If, by any means, you think facecamping is toxic, it's not. Again, it's a strategy while tbagging is not a strategy, and survivors do it, should that be bannable?

Ran a slug build for a bit and survived most games. It was unbreakable, tenacious, boil over, and flip-flop.

You don't need meta perks to win. Just rush gens, and don't be the last person the killer sees.

You don't need perks to be honest, I did a few nights of perkless survivor, I still managed to escape most of the time.

I thought that same thing, the killers he finds “boring,” all have some anti looping except Billy. Spirit, Freddy and Doctor all change that normal looping dynamic. My guess is you only don’t mind nurses because there are very few good Nurses left.

What? A lot of killers have anti-looping skills. Clown, Hag, Trapper, Huntress, Legion (at least secures 1 hit), Nurse, Pig (dash) even Plague can make you injuried without hitting you. Wraith and GF also have the surprise element to at least hit you once and shorten the chase.

@DisappointedUser You find Doctor and Freddy hard?? I grant you Freddy because of map pressure and dream pallets are BS, they're not hard, they're cheap. Like you arrive at a loop and you have no agency, who the hell knows which pallet is up, it's not a mind game, he didn't outplay me, I just flipped a coin and guessed wrong, same with spirit, it's just cheap sometimes. Doctor is not hard unless you go to an unsafe loop where he can stun you before you get to the pallet but his timing has to be perfect otherwise.

If you find those two killers "hard" I'm pretty sure you're struggling playing survivor overall.

it can actually be rather frustrating. Especially solo. Killers need Mori’s taken away or at least nerfed down to a level that’s fair for everyone. I think Everyone should have to be hooked before ANYONE can be Mori’d. I think that would make more sense.

Nah, moris are ok the way the are. They used to be MUCH worse, not even requiring you to hook anyone, you just down someone and mori them, that simple :-D

Just don't sweat when the killer offers a mori, just play like "whatever", if you win, you win, if you die, whatever, next game. He didn't really outplayed you, he just had a mori.

This is exactly what a killer main that’s pretending to be a survivor main would say. It’s really not easy. Not when you’re playing with random people and not everyone’s good at looping. But in the case that nobody is, it’s rather challenging. Chases are fun, but not everything. The game needs more survivor wise. But don’t say it’s too easy.

Dude, survivor is INSANELY and MIND NUMBINGLY easy! Unless you're facing a god tier nurse or a god tier hillbilly or spirit. I play rank 1 with randoms all the time, I think I respect like 3 or 4 killers from my area that are really good and have like 5,000+ hours, and most of the time I last more than the rest of my team.

Of course, if your team are potatoes, it gets harder, but if survivors in your team are "decent", you'll win most of the time.

  • @EthanW said:

How and when can I verse against you dude? xD

Any time! Let's do 1v1. Forget about gens, forget about other people. You down me 3 times, let me go the first 2 times, let me heal, once healed, we start the chase again and when you down me the third time, it's over. You want an incentive to win? we can do it the other way around, you as survivor, me as killer, same killer. We time the chases, whoever lasts longer, wins.

People don't understand that the fun part about DBD is not holding M1, but chase or being chased.

  • @Murdle said:

OK but survivors need no nerfs AT All. That's the thing. Killers are already overpowered. They don't need more than they already have.

No one gets sweaty chasing survivors. I literally eat at the same time or stop and send a text, listen to music or watch Netflix as a killer and still end the game with 4k. It's that easy. Even my 9 year old brother managed to kill everyone on his first try as killer.

I'd only nerf DS and map sizes and remove strong loops and windows. That's it. Killers are "OP" already, but map sizes and strong structures nerf them. What good is a killer with a chainsaw that can insta-down you like LF on a map like red forest where walking from one side of the map to the other costs you half of a gen (a complete gen if 2 people are on it), or against a wretched shop window without the possibility of mind games?

  • @ItzPixelYT said:

Hey everyone, so i'm seeing most people complain about gen repair speeds being the issue with this game. Let me just say this, i play Survivor and Killer, i'm a rank 1 Survivor and a rank 6 killer (I don't play Killer unless for challenges). I don't have a issue with generator speeds at all, I mainly play solo as survivor, i can run the killer for a while and half the time my random tms are too busy basement hunting for a chest to get anything done and one will be running off into a wall somewhere...yes this is red ranks.

However i have noticed that certain maps such as Springwood, Autohaven etc...are the easiest maps to escape on and that is purely down to the size of them. So many loops and pallets it's insane for a killer to try and actually feel like they can do map/gen pressure.

Now when i play on Gideon, Hawkins (is ok), Lery's & Dead Dawg. I'm finding them harder to escape on because they're so much smaller and better balanced for the loops etc..

Just saying I get why people are complaing about gen speeds, but perks like Dying Light and Thanataphobia work great in slowing the game down...just wish people would offer up better solutions instead of "Nerf Gen Speeds"..."Buff Killers we Weak"....

Nerf Gen Speeds...do i really want to sit on a generator longer than what I already am holding down the same button? No...I have the most fun on the game running with the killer in a chase...I feel like most killer mains just want survivors to go through something tedious for longer so they can have a "easier" experience at the game. I play killer...I find the game more enjoyable just playing for bp's rather than sweating for a kill, i'm happy with my 4 stack of BBQ and usually i'll get 3 kills a game and let the last one go.

Killers aren't weak. Like i said, there is great perks if you really wanna slow the game down, but you can literally one shot a survivor with like half of the killers on the game. Not to mention being able to Mori them to play with only 3 survivors which makes it WAY more difficult for the survivors. Right now on Killer i'm running, Save The Best Till Last, BBQ, Fire Up & something like Franklins...been having a lot of fun because as the game progresses I can get faster/stronger.

I say this all the time. If maps sizes and strong loops and windows are fixed, killers could down survivors more easily, and as a consequence of that, gen speeds will go down.

I don't want 2 minutes gens, or 20 minutes matches, I want 10 minutes matches where I can apply pressure without being sweaty.

  • Sorry, take the aggro, means you try to make the killer chase you so you take pressure off your teammates.

Man I’m a killer main, but you have teammates and they may not be on your 1337 level of controlling when/if escaping can be done. It’s selfish no matter how you try and rationalize it

Some people play the game to win, some to have fun. Holding M1 is not fun for me, I never said it wasn't selfish, but sometimes 1 person holding back is more fun (for everyone) than 4 people doing gens like crazy. This game is matematically broken, unless hillbilly, nurse or spirit, killers don't win matches, survivor lose them.

It might seem selfish, but most of the time I'm doing everyone a favor.

  • @OBX said:

Man I’m a killer main, but you have teammates and they may not be on your 1337 level of controlling when/if escaping can be done. It’s selfish no matter how you try and rationalize it

So... if you play against me you want me to gen rush you instead of having fun? because I don't care AT ALL about winning, I rather die being tunneled than genrush and escape.

  • So, for everyone (thanks for the answers either you agree or not). I've come to a time where 90% of the times it's mostly up to me if i win or lose the match. I can gen rush (like optimally think which gen should be done, not to 3-gen myself, go to another gen if I know the killer is patrolling, how not to be an idle survivor and always move the game forward, etc...) and I can hold the killer for a 1 or 2 gens on average EACH CHASE. So most of the time if I play to win, I'll win not even sweating.

Being survivor is really easy, and I got bored of gen rushing, I want to play, I want the killer to play, I want everyone to make bloodpoints (hooking, unhooking, healing...) a 5 minutes match where the killer did 3 hooks is useless, 20 minutes queue time for a 5 minutes match and 15k bloodpoints. I hope you get the point that I'm not some braindead survivor, I just go with the game, if the killer is struggling (like rank 10 vs me) I don't even touch a gen, if a killer is applying a lot of pressure, of course, I gen rush as hell (by default I gen rush hillbillies, since they can down people in 5 seconds, making it unviable to play the way I'm explaining). I also do gens if nobody is healing against plague, since it has the same effect as an insta-down billy. So it all depends on the situation, but wraith? leatherface? clown? pig? most of the time I don't touch a gen unless it's required.

  • I main wraith at rank 1, my perception of games are like out of 5 games, I get Three 4k, a 2k and a 4 escape (and even then I probably pip or safety pip). Those are my expectations and on average how I perform. The problem is that he has no map pressure, so if you chase a guy for 2 pallets, 3 gens go by.

He's not top tier, but people don't know how to use it, which perks are good with him, which addons are the best... I enjoy playing with him a lot, also with pig.

I don't make forum posts when I have a bad match.

I play killer all the time, I'm playing killer now.

I'm just not the whiny, complaining type of killer.

    I don't get DS'ed.

    It's as simple as this.

You get DS'ed? It's YOUR fault.

    You're clueless about this game.

  • Windstorm (green) should be his base speed while cloacked. Period.

  • @OBX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1168291#Comment_1168291

So your argument was pointless. You countered nothing I said. Please go play survivor with ds 90% maybe at a later date you will have some constructive ideas on the issue

Look at his name. He's a survivor main, he'll never understand what you're explaining.

    1. Slugging is boring and it's a risk to lose all the pressure you have.
    2. tunnel is not a bad word, if you tunnel a guy to death, ok, but if people unhook in your face, IT'S THEIR FAULT!, they should be punished for that misplay, not me.
    3. sure, I'll have a bunch of timers to check who have been unhooked where, when, etc...
    4. Same as 1.
    5. ???

Only baby survivors would call this a witch hunt, it's clear that DS should be reworked, it was a stupid idea from the beginning and it hasn't been fixed yet. Don't tell me, you're a survivor main, right? I mean, look at your name.

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

    It's a situational perk.

It only activates and used if the killer lets the survivor.

This is a bad idea, please stop this DS witch hunt and putting limitations on DS.

YOU as the killer CHOOSE to have it used. Only you can prevent it.

Your argument makes absolutely no sense. Head on is also a situational perk, yet it causes exhaustion. Same as DH, BL.... what does being situational has anything to do with it being an exhaustion perk or not?

DS is still strong, and should be nerfed, nobody is witch hunting, people are just asking for balance, DS is a second chance perk, a reward for you doing nothing, some people even GO TO THE KILLER to execute their DS, it's complete BS sometimes.

It's also not something that as killer you "CHOOSE" to have it used, sometimes it's the last gen and you want to apply pressure only to find out the guy you're downing has been unhooked 50 seconds ago. Or the gates are opened because you were a cool killer and didn't tunnel anyone on the whole match, people took advantage of that and gen rushed the hell out of you and you want to grasp one last kill only to find out that you can't because, as you didn't tunnel anyone, all assh0les survivors still have DS available, so there's NO OTHER OPTION for you but to let them go.

Yeah, sure... DS is completely balanced, "stop witchhunting"

I 100% understand and if I was in the exact same situation I'd do the exact same thing. Doesn't stop me from trash talking the killer though just the same. But I'm not really mad...just playing mind games is all.

That makes no sense, but play the way you want. Survivors think they have the right to escape just because the fifth gen pops, the match doesn't end there.

Me, on the other hand, if the killer camps me when the gates are opened, I always say GG, there was nothing else for him to do. I also side with the killer when someone else is trashing him because of that. That's part of the game design, there are literally no more objectives for him to do, and there's a chance he can snowball one or more kills. I have done it, I've even 4k from 1 hook and 3 survivors alive and healthy a few times, two at least that I can remember... There's literally no other objective and no incentive for the killer not to camp, other than feeling bad or don't wanting salt at the end of the game.

  • @NeaMainNON_TOXIC3 said:

What killer's perks should I unlock?

I main Legion and have already unlocked all of their perks, who should I go for next? In my opinion I think The Shape...

    BBQ and Chilli.

No questions asked. Just for the bloodpoints, you'll get double bloodpoints every match. Also it's a good information perk.

Then it all depends on your playstyle, but Pop Goes the Weasel is a good slow down perk.

Those teammates weren't that bad. They managed to complete all 5 gens and escape for the price of only one teammate. It's pretty good score for solo survivors!

Yeah, they were not bad, they were selfish and cowards. This is why I run BT, I NEVER leave until the last guy leaves. I rather die than be a coward at the exit gates. It's a game after all, the best plays I've done were when the exit gates are opened.

  • @KillerIdeas said:

and if so, what have you done?

Camping the last hook when the exit gates are opened. Apparently I should go to the other side of the map and smell the flowers, I shoudn't be around hooks, not even during EGC.

That makes survivors lose their minds at the end chat every time... their tiny mind cannot comprehend the situation.

  • @Rey_512 said:

Example: Yesterday after my friends got off Xbox I decided to give solo survivor queue a shot. We load into Gas Heaven against a Deathslinger, the match goes on normally, yada yada...

I haven’t been hooked all game, and the killer starts chasing me near an Exit Gate as the last gen pops. I actually run him around almost the whole map (down the long line of stacked cars, through the gas station, around the other line of stacked cars, around the bus) and finally get downed because of bloodlust and no pallets left.

I see the other 3 (fully healthy) survivors waiting at one of the Exit Gates and they decide to open it. I think: “Okay, NOED isn’t in play and there’s 3 people that can come get me.” But what happens? All THREE just bumble around in the exit gate until I go into struggle and finally die. No attempt to even come close to the hook.

Killers complain about SWF being too strong. I say SWF is the only way to play Survivor without going insane from witnessing the stupidity of other solo queue players.

    It's not.

You're just ranting because you had bad random teammates.

Solo players are the way the game is supposed to be played, they're supposed to be in this kind of "purgatory" or "limbo" where they can't communicate or know what each other is doing other than seeying them do it. Using Discord breaks the game completely.

People overhype way too much about how terrible Haddonfield is. Yes it’s a bad map but it’s still very winnable. Ever since the Balanced Landing change it’s hasn’t NEARLY as bad.

Maps like Ormond, Yamaoka, THE GAME, all Coldwind maps (specifically Fractured Cowshed and Thompson House can be unwinnable in certain set ups and you have to take the loss.

Why is Haddonfield so bad to everyone. Besides the dreaded “Great Wall of Haddonfield” there really isn’t anything so unwinnable.

TBH, I don't know why people complain that much about Haddonfield. I hate Ormond, or even yamaoka ninja grass, or Blood Lodge (pallet city), or Ironworks' window. Haddonfield is ok, BL can be OP sometimes, but I don't struggle at all on that map, it's one of the bunch for me.

  • Try Darkest Dungeon, it's 75%off in steam, and it's addictive and good fun.

  • @crixus006 said:

Sorry but, what's the meaning of SWF?

Survive With Friends, basically 2, 3 or 4 survivors on comms (Discord/Skype) telling each other where the killer is, where the totem is, which exit gate is open, which gen is almost done so someone go and finish it, where the hatch is, etc... giving them a HUGE advantage over the killer and over solo players.

  • @Irisora said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1166611#Comment_1166611

I partially agree. Why? because the gen speed is a real problem, i would say that most of the times in rank 1... 2 gens pop with your first hooked survivor. And you need 3 hooks to kill someone, there's barely time to get at least 1 kill unless the survivor team is lollygagging the entire match.

So.. of course that less pallets and infinites will give the killer more time but the gens speed is a problem by itself...

I believe gen speed is not the problem, it's a symptom. The problem is that a good nurse can down you in 20 seconds, but a wraith could take a minute and a half for one hook if all the pallets are up and the survivor knows what he's doing.

If you nerf gen speeds, any decent nurse will destroy you every game. If you balance the maps and make other killers easier to down survivors, gen speed will correct itself.

I also don't want 20 minutes matches, I want 10 minutes matches where I can down and kill survivors quicker with wraith or with any killer.

  • As I said in the video:

Gen speed is not the problem. Maps are too safe, too big, they have safe zones (like strong windows, ex-infinites and strong tiles). If maps are more balanced, it would be easier for a killer to down people faster and apply more pressure, THEN the gen speed will go down as a result of this.

  • SWF tend to be more toxic than random solo players, because they're in a group, and they all want to show off... "eeeez baby killer, I looped you for 3 gens", it's just ego.

Some solo players are also toxic, and some SWF teams are not. It's not a rule, it's just a general behaviour.

  • @Desh said:

I don't understand the point of difficulties in this game, especially for survivors. With survivors, it's honestly the same across the board for everyone (but admittedly for Strode due to her OOO if you stick to characters ONLY using their 3 unique perks). But they have no special powers, perks are interchangeable, and all items are standard.

For Killers, it is doesn't seem to be classified correctly. I don't know if it's because of my skill using a particular killer or that it's out of date, but how is Freddy or Doctor still considered "hard" for example where playing Demo, Pig, or Clown is classified as intermediate but much harder (in my opinion) due to their differing powers and speed?

Devs either need to update it or just throw away those difficulties since it doesn't match most of the killers and it doesn't really matter.

That was a quick guide for new players, since if you install the game now you might feel overwhelmed by all those characters.

If you have more than 20 hours of gameplay, just ignore it.

  • Maps, not only size, they should remove strong windows (like Ironworks) and strong tiles/loops or make them slightly unsafer.

His latest video, which I dare not post because those posts always seem to disappear for some strange reason, really made sense.

By now I haven’t played in about a month because other things had my interest. But one point made really peaked my curiosity so I ask the community this.

Next time you play count how many games you were frustrated, annoyed, or generally got pissed off, then count how many games you had fun, had a good time, or generally didn’t get angry at the game to the point of not enjoying your experience.

One you have that ratio I think you guys can make your own decision on how you want to spend your time.

I said it before: For every 1000 hours you played this game, you could have:

-played 100 ten hour long games (let's say like Shovel Knight or Ori the Blind Forest)

    -watched around 600 movies

-read around 120 books (average read speed for 300-400 pages)

If you're not enjoying it, you should leave it.

@SpaceCoconut I enjoyed your content, but if you have to take a break or definitely leave, just do it, you'll probably doing yourself a favor if you're not enjoying it anymore.

Solo players are the way the game is supposed to be played by design. You're not supposed to know the killer's loadout or the other survivors' loadout. The fact that SWF exists and they're on comms doesn't make it the way it's supposed to be played. For me, this thread is a NO.

Yes, he made a LIST of people tbagging at the doors. Not because they were toxic in game, not because they were tbaggin during a chase, or messing with him. Nope. He got salty cause survivors tbag at the doors.

I never tbag in game, ii have at the doors just cause at this point is tradition, not because I wanna "tilt" the killer, to me is more of a "byee" kinda thing.

    • The Thompson House: Survivor sided
    • Torment Creek: very Survivor sided (extremely Survivor sided if god window spawns)
    • Rancid Abattoir: Survivor sided (very Survivor sided if god window spawns)
    • Rotten Fields: Billy sided

    Crotus Prenn Asylum

    • Disturbed Ward: very Survivor sided
    • Father Campbell's Chapel: mostly even (possibly the most balanced map in the game)

    Haddonfield

    • Lampkin Lane: extremely Survivor sided

    Backwater Swamp

    • The Pale Rose: Survivor sided
    • Grim Pantry: very Survivor sided

    Léry's Memorial Institute

    • Treatment Theatre: varies a lot depending on map layout and Killer.

    Red Forest

    • Mother's Dwelling: Survivor sided
    • The Temple of Purgation: Survivor sided

    Springwood

    • Badham Preschool: all version are very Survivor sided (used to be extremely Survivor sided before rework)

    Gideon Meat Plant

    • The Game: Survivor sided (I'm aware this is an unpopular opinion)

    Yamaoka Estate

    • Family Residence: Survivor sided (very Survivor sided against Killers weak to stealth)
    • Sanctum of Wrath: ??? (I don't know yet. Didn't play enough to judge)

    Ormond

    • Mount Ormond Resort: Survivor sided

    Hawkins National Laboratory

    • The Underground Complex: Entity sided (miserable experience for both sides)

    Grave of Glenvale

    • Dead Dawg Saloon: too early to tell

Great list! I mostly agree on everything. However, I found some reworks of springwood to be very easy to play as killer. The Game is a map that survivors don't know how to use, it's very survivor sided against M1 killers if you know it well, since most loops are super safe. I love Hawkins with most killers, mainly stealth ones, like GF, Myers or Wraith with all-seeying (he's really strong in that map with that addon, it's the one I use against SWF).

Azarov's is complicated, the way I play it it's survivor sided, since I don't want to "protect gens from one side" in order to try to 3-gen (which doesn't guarantee a victory either), it's boring, I like to go around the whole map. Buy yeah, survivors sometimes f*ck up and they 3-gen themselves. I remember a recent game where they 3-gen themselves against my Hag... they had ZERO chance :-D

  • Just farm it. Go to the survivors, hit a generator, play friendly, when they're working on it blink a couple of times so they know you're friendly and when you're ready, blink 3 times and grab someone. EZ.

I actually got lucky with one of those survivors that run in straight line, I was able to predict he'd vault a window while injuried so I TP to the other side of the window and grabbed him from the neck and got the achievement, LMAO.

  • Fix your connection.

Iron Will seriously confuses Killers in chases. Anyone who plays Killer will tell you that they pay just as much attention to sound cues as to what they can see.

If you have Iron Will equipped, it is significantly easier to mindgame Killers and escape chases. That's the reason that Iron Will is so strong. But only high rank survivors or ones that have significant experience playing both sides would know that. Most people would just think its a mediocre stealth perk like urban evasion or something.

So... which is the way most don't realize? You're just describing the perk. Of course it's used to confuse killers and lose chases. What's the news you're trying to spread?

.Having 4 000 hours and saying that hillbilly curves can not be countered. Complaining about killers perks and instant down killer while saying that the game is survivor sided.

I think i ve had enough of you today. You will make my day tomorrow morning.

What was the point of this thread anyway, that you can 4k with an insta-down killer, insta down perks and slugging? Are you so proud of a 4k that you decided to open a thread to talk about it? did you tell your mommy about it? "mommy, mommy, look! I killed 4 people mommy, do you love me now mommy? pls?"

You expected everyone to say "OMG DUUUUD, YOU SO PRO!!! a 4K??? DAT HILLBILLY OP!!! CAN I BE YOUR FRIEND???"? Was that it?

I dont think you re sane. You re saying that pig(low tier killer) can destroy 4 man swf and still standing on a ground saying that the game is survivor sided. Man you re insane 😂

Saying pig is low tier shows how little you know about the game. That's probably why you need TWO insta down perks, an insta down killer and, if that wasn't enough to maintain pressure, you ALSO need to slug.

I have 4k hours in the game, I know how to maintain pressure without a tryhard build (watch the video), but I can't expect everyone to play like a 4k hours killer. The game is balanced towards survivors. It's insanely easy to play as survivor if your team is doing the right thing. I've looped a killer for just 3 pallets and that made him lose 2 or 3 gens SO MANY TIMES that I lost count.
