Maybe its just taking a bit to update

Yep they do sure complain about it. But people who play sweaty, should get sweaty matches.
I think a lot of people miss this point.
If you don't play sweaty you shouldn't get sweaty players if you do play sweaty you should get sweaty players.
-
Unfortunately we can only hope the system is good
But McLean said that before he left he saw the MMR system and how it works, and he said that more people would like it if they knew what he knew about it. So I think we should be alright.
-
You didn't get the memo? This is the PTB.
Console has always had the PTB, BHVR just calls it the live patch because they know they can't keep their game in a constant PTB or the players will realize they are all unpaid QA testers.
-
It's called a terror radius
And if they have no terror radius its called having eyes.
You go to the hooked person, if you see the killer camping, you either go in with borrowed time or leave to do a gen.
If a survivor goes in without borrowed to save, that's not the fault of the killer. That's the survivor being dumb.
-
Basically the web has a certain chance to give an event item.
Killer can only get the BP offerings
Survivor can now get the BP offering, flashlight, medkit, and tool box.
So your chances of getting an event offering are 1/4th as much as getting one on killer.
-
Because people getting motion sick from a low FOV is not a large enough concern.

Maybe some of y'all never learned from the proverb "Fool me twice, jokes on me" but I'm not as disappointed as most others because BEhaviour's promises are worth less than a pile of ######### and I don't expect this year's Halloween Event to be any better
Just be glad they're still giving us 9k shard for free and some cosmetic crowns, you'd think they'd put these awfully overpriced cosmetic costumes on sale for the anniversary but BEhaviour is gonna BEhaviour
Anyone who have high expectations from a company who only cares about money is a fool, actual clowns.🤡
I know they want us to just grind them bloodpoints and crowns for 2 weeks because without artificial grind players will realize the game is a repetitive and broken mess with stagnant meta and terrible map designs.
BUT HEY! NEW COSMETICS IN THE STORE!!
They kinda said it was gonna be the largest event, and it isn't.
-
I watched the anniversary stream and was not impressed so. Keeping my expectations low and/or non existent.
BHVR really has hit rock bottom with these updates and events so anything other than a complete let down or scam would be impressive.
-
As they add more maps it adds more map offerings which lowers the chance of getting a BPS.
So currently an ebony mori is more likely to get than a BPS.
But the new event cakes should be in every bloodweb (hopefully unless they break things again.)
-
Knowing the event is just gonna be the exact same as last year with some login rewards and shrine changes is very discouraging when they said they would put a big focus on making this event amazing.
Instead they just took 3 terrible event and slapped them together into 1 mediocre event.
-
They have said they don't need one.
I personally think they need several.
-
Meanwhile whenever anything happens to Jane she sounds like she is having way too good of a time.
-
Remove BP cap.
Remove BP cap on categories in game
Make BBQ and WGLF bloodpoint gain base.
Make rebuking shrine perks give 500k BP.
YW.
-
I think Ormond and Haddonfield need the exact same change. They need to go into the files of the game where both of those maps are, select them both, then click delete.
Perfect, ship the patch.
-
There aren't DC penalties anymore?
Sweet, now I don't have to worry about disconnecting from every game with a hag.
-
Because the key rework is coming.
Just like how the trial warm up is something they are working on.
-
BHVR will never do this as reducing the grind in any way would inevitably lead people to finish all the grind. And when they do that they fear that they will stop playing.

To be completely honest, I don't want to have to spend $4 on an extra default head for either of the survivors.
And now that you have to buy it and use it and you can't use prestige cosmetics with it is why there is such a huge uproar about it.

Honestly I prefer the new franklins now. I'd rather let 1 person escape through hatch than have 4 people healing constantly with medkits throughout the game.
Except it's not 1 person escaping. It's 2 or 3 and now you just got an entity displeased because 1 item let the whole game end early.
-
Franklin's nerf, people say that it is nerfed because it could destroy a vaccine.
Logical change would be to have it not effect vaccines
BHVR change: nerf Franklin's and inadvertently buff keys in the process because you can still use a key to open the hatch when it is out of charges.
I swear BHVR this is getting ridiculous. At this point keys are so bad if more than 1 person escapes with 1 I just close the game and go play something else, that is how bad they feel to go against.
The key nerf either needs to be next patch or you need to revert the Franklin's nerf.

Devs: Ahh we understand... **proceeds to nerf it to only show obsession**
I doubt the perk will be nerfed. We have the evidence we need. We know the spawns are dumb now its just will they do something about it.
-
It's OK, that was probably the first match they have ever won so they had to celebrate and show you that they won.
Let them enjoy the moment because it is probably a rare occurrence.
-
Imagine running to go for an unhook and the person on the hook doesn't let you unhook so you go down to the killer.
Even if it was a bad play to make, you refusing to be unhooked could cost the entire game for the team.
Not to mention the trolling applications this would have.
So no, please don't add that and stop asking for it.
Sometimes teammates will make bad plays but if you really are having an issue with that. Equip DS. Then at the very least you will either be able to get healed of the ground or just stab the killer after someone makes a bad play.
-
The grind is mount everest.
Those perks are like snow shoes, it helps but you need so much more to actually get through it.
-
Anything to help reduce the grind.

Oh i agree other game modes, in particular a thorough tutorial and some form of "try out a killer", would be epic, this thread is mostly about the game's performance on console these days and into the future. Especially the prior gen machines, and certain unfilled goals with them, plus a fustrating lack of communication about it.
BHVR and lack of communication go together like BHVR and saying they fixed a bug when they clearly haven't.
DbD Twitter man can only say so much, but ever since they stopped doing weekly dev streams, actually knowing what they are working on and what their goals are for the game has been nearly impossible to know.
-
60 seconds where a survivor follows you around to try and blind you.
Meanwhile, you are essentially chasing half the team for that entire time, and can easily just look at a wall or bait out the flashlight, or just slug the guy following you.
Honestly sounds like a win in my book if someone tries to do that.

This discussion is, mostly, talking about the Optimization issues that DBD has faced and how the Console community feels like BHVR doesn't take the issues as seriously as they should.
That's why I've uploaded clips of some of the examples I've had in my own games, and others have done the same.
Been like that since the game came to console. With a game so reliant on knowing where people are going having less than 60 fps is a huge hindrance. And with the release of PS5 and leaks of Ray Tracing being added to the game, it's essentially BHVR going.
"Get a PC or PS5/Xbox series X"
We joke about BHVR not having a QA team, but even if they did I swear they don't have a console to test anything on. The worst example of that was back when a patch got released and console FPS was down to 12 fps, I don't think the switch was out yet but if it was I bet it was even lower than its usual 15fps.
I hope they get some good progress done on optimization for the RE chapter, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

Well, this isn't really about that, but thank you for contributing!
Well, the game being the exact same game for years does contribute to it not being as enjoyable as it was before, so I thought I would add this to the discussion.
Because out of anything that has been highly requested from survivors and killers it's another game mode.
-
Effectively, if the perk was being used as intended, the perk did not get nerfed.
If a survivor used it as a 60-second shield where they could do whatever they wanted and then run into the killer's face to get downed and picked up at the 59-second mark, then yes it was nerfed because that strategy was abusing the perk for a playstyle it was not built for. So it was fixed.
The major thing this nerf has shown is how many people do not get what tunneling actually means.
-
Honestly, even though the community memes on BHVR for bugs and DbD definitely has way more bugs than what should be allowed. It is overall a fairly functional game.
I think the major issue long term players are having is the game is 5 years old, and its the exact same game that is was 5 years ago
1 killer, 4 survivors, 5 gens, 2 exit gates.
Nothing to spice the game up, other than new maps, killers, and perks. And the only reason it has gotten away with this for as many years as it has is that it's the only game like it. If any other game was able to have the same appeal as DbD, but added new game modes or alternate ways of playing, DbD would be struggling.
If they want to keep up the player base they have 2 options, More licenses, or game modes.
Unfortunately, it looks like they are going the former route.
-
Ah, so you are mad that you can't give survivors free escapes because your team lost, and you can't troll other teammates by dying right as they get to the hook because you don't like their plays...
Right...
You can still give up just as easily. This just makes it so:
1. the killer actually has time to make it to the hatch before the person dies on hook if they already know where it is. And
2. If your team is in a position to save you within basically 10 seconds of being hooked they can too.
If your team is all urban immersioning around the map you can die on hook just as easily.
Also, how is not being able to die on hook instantly "remove the fun". If your fun in DbD is giving up, well then might I suggest not playing? It's like giving up, but you don't even have to load into the game before you are already out of the game!
And let's be honest, not having to spam the button now is an objectively good change because it was giving people medical problems. And I will take not getting carpal tunnel and having to wait an extra 10 seconds to get to the next game over the old system any day of the week.
-
Unless you have a 1 shot ability.
Going against 4 dead hards, in general, is frustrating.

I made the first thread (unless this is a double post) and my reasoning for it’s inclusion was different.
Yes.
I made this one specifically about people arguing it would give players a competitive advantage, purely because I saw a lot of argument around it and I saw the argument as really dumb considering loads of other games with PvP that have adjustable FOV.
-
The perks have situational use.
But if we wanna talk about survivors with the worst perks, how about bringing Ash and Quentin into the convo.
-
Yucky, bad idea.
Also, she has the lowest kill rate in the game, so by the logic of an unnamed individual, she should actually be getting buffed. ;)

Again, playing on a last gen console, this is an unnoticeable difference and a non argument unless you are playing on a potato computer that can barely run the game in general, in which case the option is still available.
This “disadvantage” is so unbelievably minimal that it is already measurably small by Shadowborn existing. If a killer is already doing well without Shadowborn, and they are doing just as well without it, we can already tell that Shadowborn is not a noticeable advantage. The advantage that Shadowborn gives a player, especially a good player, is negligible.
The only way spins and such work on good killers is when the “aim dressing” yanks the camera away from where they were going to swing and hit the survivor and causing them to miss. It’s not because survivors just moved out of the way fast enough in most scenarios. Spins that don’t force “aim dressing” only work on killers that just can’t really aim in general and swing at everything.
The benefits of having an FOV slider far outweight the downsides.
Exactly, I guarantee no one will lose a game based on the killer's FOV.
And an FOV slider could even allow survivors to change their FOV (within reason)
-
I think the issue with BHVR is that they know if they make the grind reasonable. People are gonna grind all their characters to the max. Then quit. Because once you finish grinding the only thing keeping you here is new DLC and the gameplay. And let's be honest after 1000 hours the game isn't that great anymore. And with their meh DLCs lately, huge amounts of people would quit the game if the grind wasn't basically Mount Everest size.
Because other than that reason and that reason alone, there is no reason for the grind to be as large as it is with nothing being done to lessen it for new players just starting.
-
@malloymk said:
But who would choose lesser FOV? Literally every killer would just increase FOV to it's max. So at that point, what's the point of a slider? What advantages are being given to survivors to compensate for the killer buff?
Also, mark me down as someone that would love the FOV to be increased. I also just have no qualms about saying I want it increased so killer will be more enjoyable and yes, easier.
I know a lot of killers would max it out, but also a good bit of players would also put it high because the lower FOV makes them motion sick.
I also know people who have the reverse issue, were too much on-screen disoriented them, so they would want a lower FOV.
The point being, it can be changed to fit people's needs, why have it tied to perks when you can just give people the option? There is no reason to not have it be an option, other than the argument that it gives a competitive advantage, but like I said. There are plenty of competitive games, even more, competitive than DbD that have FOV sliders and there aren't any complaints from their players that they lost because someone was using a high FOV.
And who says only killers can have a higher FOV? Give it to survivors too, not a whole lot again to avoid ridiculous-looking screens, but enough that it can suit each player for their needs, whether it be high or low.

I guess BHVR is letting survivors have fun with keys before they get nerfed. I'm estimating in about 6 months, keys will be nerfed. Hopefully it comes sooner though.
I hope they say something during the anniversary stream. They really do suck a lot of fun out of the game.
-
Had that happen to me on a few maps. Most recently Lery's with an open door making a tiny corner where I couldn't pick up the survivor.
I think they need to make the pickup area more generous
-
Ahh, DbD matchmaking. It's fascinating how it continues to be so horrible.

You're aware of the pallet stun bug , right....?
But BHVR fixed it, they even said so. And they definitely tested everything to make sure that there is no possible way the issues with stunning with pallets would exist.
-
I've had that happen to me on a hill in the swamp maps.
Couldn't pick up the survivor.
