    What even are these numbers/columns?

i mean.. judging by the last column the statement was right (if we take July 2016 as starting point)

Far right collum is peak players of the month

Far left collum is average players that month.

If you are looking at roughly where the playerbase was during a month, you look at the averages. Because peak players can easily be influenced by a large event or bloodrush event causing loads of people to log on, then leave after like 2 days.

Yeah but another thing about DBD is its player base never stopped growing and it started with 23,000 players. The lowest player base DBD ever had was a little over 17,000 people and that was only for a month or two then it went straight back to growing.

    image.png

    Yeah.. totally.

Playerbase only got down to 17k. and started at 23k.

    Sure...

Ah yeah Zbing, popular Thai youtuber. Idk It just looks like people are moving away from it and it worries me that they're gonna kinda just cancel production if the player base keeps dwindling

    image.png

I don't know what more proof you need of them not abandoning the game when literally they just finished updating the game 4 mins ago.

I do but that doesn't change the fact it went from 1/10 of DBDs player base (Which is extremely impressive for an indie early access game) now its kinda dying out and this past week we haven't even been able to grab 2000 players :/ I actually loved the game since the Specters actually had pretty scary designs but unless they do some big content release I can't imagine a lot of people rushing back and staying.

How about we wait until the game is... actually out... before judging it against a game that has been out for 5 years and has a very large amount of money, content, licenses, devs, and community.

The trailer for the game has at least 3 maps, and 2 killers we haven't seen yet.

Also leaks suggest another character is on the way and they are... kinda licensed? Its weird.

The game is losing players, but calling it dying is a stretch. The game is still having updates done, (more often than BHVR) and it still has a long road ahead of it of planned content and future updates.

  • @kate_best_girl said:

So HSHS sadly is dying. It sucks I really enjoyed the game actually but its been going down and down and down in players which somewhat surprises me but somewhat doesn't. Oh well, DBD has yet again beat its competition which isn't a bad thing I love them both but it would've been nice to have a fresh game thats similar but not a copy like IDV. What do you guys think of the whole situation?

You do realize the game is in early access?

Did... Did we read the same patch notes?

    Well lets see

    Freddy Nerf

    Iri head nerf

Twins nerf, with some iri add on buffs of like 18 seconds

    Demo nerf

and perk buffs, with like 1 survivor nerf to soul guard which realistically will never come into play

Seems fairly survivor sided to me... am I forgetting something?

OH WAIT, Zanshin buff. yeah you are right totally killer sided how could they buff the most OP perk in the game. Killers are gonna start 5king at this rate.

  • I was gonna say I'm hoping the time it is taking for the key nerf is because it is gonna be good.

But considering how long it took them to nerf iri head and what the nerf actually was.

My hopes have all been shot.

  • Nope.

They didn't address his core issues. Mainly being he is throwing knives that do 1/8th of a health state.

    1. Discord and or Console voice chat
    2. More gamemodes like 2v8 have been requested basically since the game launched
    3. Finding games as survivor take a long time because there are too many people playing survivor

But yeah, load times are kinda bad, but that mostly depends on each players rig.

  • Hill billy?

Whats that? Ive never heard of such a killer, let alone seen them.

  • They already have added a licensed character.

However the license is from the Eastern area so the western audience probably wouldn't recognize them or really care about them being in the game.

  • Thats a good birb

  • Huntress because of her BS hit boxes.

Hag and Twins because they always love to camp

Deathslinger because his counterplay his just hope he misses and put stuff inbetween you and him

  • How many times do we have to say this?

If you are actually being tunneled, DS did not change.

Apparently survivors think being able to heal, repair 1/4th of a gen, get chased then go down and still use DS was considered "Tunneling".

So let it be known, if you are unhooked, and the killer at any point goes after a different survivor, You are not being tunneled.

Tunneled is a phrase derived from the phrase Tunnel Vision. Where the killer has such a focused sight on 1 survivor and 1 survivor alone they will ignore all other things to go after that one survivor. Gen about to finish? Nah keep chasing the same survivor.

So when the killer swaps targets, he does not have tunnel vision on 1 survivor, so by extension they are not tunneling.

My only thing is that you painted the Lunar New Year celebration like an event when the devs literally said before the winter holidays celebration that there will be only an Anniversary and Halloween event with anything else just being a celebration that was much smaller. So they actually didn't call the Lunar New Years thing an event, they said it was a smaller celebration which holds true. People are just painting it as an event to make it seem bad when the devs said it would not be a full blown event. Like look at it as a mini celebration, seems more accurate. Look at it as an event, all of a sudden it looks terrible.

Well in comparison to previous years.

Yeah it was a terrible event. But that is why we are expecting so much from this anniversary event.

  • This event better come with 2v8 or something huge.

Effectively after Twins and Trickster, I haven't gotten a new killer to play since October. Purely because playing as those 2 is just *pain*

"fix" could mean alot of things I think it should be changed to be more balanced and stay to add more complexities to blight

Which is more complex? Having to bounce off of 3 things perfectly and predict exactly where a survivor is gonna go to perfectly line up a rush.

Or flipping a 180 and slapping them because they would never be able to react to something that fast.

I know which one I would rather go against a survivor because I have a lot more opportunies to go hey, maybe if I do this they won't expect it and I can get away, and the same for the blight.

If you can just flip a 180 at basically any point. Well then, yay the survivor never stood a chance because they cant react in time.

Theres another killer that has that same problem... I think his name is... Sleepslinger?

  • Imagine a killer thats worse than Old Pre rework Freddy.

Actually theres no need, because Trickster Exists.

  • Yes.

And anyone who tries to argue otherwise has not seen Suffocation Pit spawn with only 7 pallets, 1 being shack and 4 being completely unsafe.

RNG can literally decide the outcome of a match before the players even have control of their character.

They havent said outright theyre gonna remove it only that it wasnt on purpose scott jund or inleast I believe said that and it was a lie

I mean, I am fairly sure I remember on stream Scott asking McLean (A guy who worked on Blight) if J flicking was intended. And McLean said no and they were going to fix it.

If you want to you can go ask McLean when he streams next.

  • @Moxie said:

I agree Killer is easier than previous years. Yet we still have a queue problem and lots of Killer apathy.

    Thoughts?

Kill is easier and less stressful,

But basically killer has gone from wanting to have all your fingernails removed to only wanting to pull your hair out sometimes.

Yeah its better, that doesn't make it good.

  • J flick is an exploit that the devs have said they are going to remove.

This isn't really up for debate, and even if it was it removes skill that Blights on console would need to learn.

Why would a PC j flicking blight need to learn how to pefectly bounce off of terrain to catch a survivor at a TL wall, when they can just basically cheat and turn 180 and the survivor basically can't do anything, because why should a survivor need to expect a Blight to exploit to dodge them.

Look, if someone uses J flick, I don't care. But they shouldn't crap on other blights for not using it, or pretend that they aren't exploiting, because they are.

  • Basically, if you buy something on the Xbox store, some money goes to Xbox, same with the play station.

So say you buy all your DLC on Xbox, then transfer all your progress to Playstation. Playstation will feel ripped out of the money they could have earned if you were only able to have your progression be on Playstation, so if you want the DLC on PlayStation you have to buy it on PlayStation.

That's why they don't have cross progression on there, basically money.

  • Ah yes, a killer is pretty good in about 3 maps out of 31.

Truly an indication that he is in need of 0 changes where on over 90% of the maps his power is more harmful than helpful.

  • If you are getting tunneled for the full 60-second duration of DS. And I mean actually tunneled.

Its your team's job to get the gens done and win the game. 60 seconds is 3/4ths of 3 gens if all the survivors are working on different ones.

Also, once you realize the killer is going after you and only you, you can start to play safer, drop pallets early, use lots of them, because the more time you buy getting tunneled, the more gens will get done.

Then if you eventually go down and get hooked, a teammate can swoop in with BT and you still have DS from before, so you can just run to an exit gate that is 99d or open, if you go down you use DS, if not, you escape.

There is no reason to have the timer be any longer than it already is.

  • You have to let the animation play completely for it to count.

  • It's taking a long time because they have to surgically remove Iri head.

There's actually a lot of spaghetti code piled on top of it so if they just removed it nurse would regain her 5 blinks and survivors would be permanently locked in the crouching position. Still fully able to move around and such, but just floating around crouching.

They have to be very careful to not disturb the spaghetti.

  • Something that should probably be a slider in the options menu.

  • How about start by making DLC's that people actually want to buy instead of the garbage that the twins chapter was.

  • Hmm, interesting.

I wish I could test it out in an actual game.

Hey y’all, I’m not new to the game I’m a survivor main sitting at rank 2, recently started playing killer, as ghost face. I’ve never realized how hard it is to actually play killer. Survivors are rude, tbagging, gens popping 2 mins after losing in the game. And the last match I had three of them escape by a key and the other one I killed. My question is how can I improve my skills? I can find them easily, it’s the chase that takes forever and next thing you know 2 gens pop. How can I outplay them during a chase and mind game them?

Well, since you already play survivor, think about the ways you would try to outplay a killer.

Then while playing as killer think, hmm what would I do if I was the survivor right now. Then try to do something that if the killer did it to you it would be unexpected and lead to a hit.

Basically, if the survivor expects you to vault a window, don't or if you think the survivor will expect you to moonwalk somewhere, fake the moonwalk and keep going.

  • Twins

Literally, she is just face camp and slug the killer, and it's really boring to play as let alone against.

  • 1 day of MMR rating isn't enough to give good feedback on.

That's my feedback, make the test longer.

  • Can we just delete all the licensed chapter maps?

    Haddonfield sucks

Badham has the same issues haddonfield but in a smaller amount, but it makes up for it with lots of safe areas

The Game is just all safe pallets every 5 ft

Hawkins is literally just, no killer power zone for most of the killers

Midwich is just... every problem with every map all in one.

    Delete them all plz.

  • Dont have one near me but white castle burgers are great

Wouldn't Demo be even less intelligent since he is basically an animal? According to Billy's lore in the tome he at least watched TV when he was locked up, so he had some understanding of the world.

I think Demo would have a large intelligence of being able to hunt. He kills for food and for fun and he is really good at it. So while he might not be able to talk, he is still smart enough to know how to most effectively get his next meal.

    Also Billy Brain sounded better.

  • Alright, see you in 8 days.

  • As someone who plays mostly killer

    No lol

  • If you are actually being tunneled the perk literally hasn't changed so...

  • I have 3 rankings from most powerful to least powerful

    Least powerful is Solo Survivors

    Mid range is killers

Most powerful is most forums of SWF. The most powerful being 4 man with comms all trying to do gens and gtfo.

  • The curse has lifted.

    We are free!

  • Welcome to DbD.

However, I do notice that you rarely take into account the games you dominate as killer.

Guarantee you get a lot more than you think you do.

But what I have seen is a lot of SWF have gotten sick of their solo queue teammates so they grabbed some friends so they know that they have good players.

And with a team of 4 good players, not even great players, just as long as there isn't a weak link in the team you will usually lose as any non-meta killer.

  • Someone had their hex totems cleansed within the first minute of the game too often I bet.

I still think that all totems should stay dull until the effect of the totem activates. Aside from a few trap ones like haunted, retribution, thrill. Stuff like that.

That way you won't have a totem cleansed that had no effect. Or on the off chance that all 5 totems get cleansed before the hex spawns then its a little reward to the survivors that they did all the bones.

  • Bad idea.

Especially since games can crash and still give you the penality. Imagine wanting to play killer, crashing.

Now you have to wait 5 mins for a survivor queue for a game you don't want to play or wait 24 hours.

    Terrible idea.

  • The only good thing they did was make the top part of it more open.

Otherwise, they address nothing that made the map bad before, then added breakable walls and more god pallets.

It needs more windows and a lot fewer pallets. The bottom part also needs to be opened up more.

  • He isn't weak, but they removed a lot of what made him fun.

Overheat rarely comes into play if you use him right, which means it is mostly uneccesary and is really only there to punish people that don't know how to play him, and if they don't know how to play him... they are gonna lose anyway. So it really is just there for an excuse to make useless add ons.

Lots of his add ons are useless, and his ultra rares are also not very impactful.

The sound of starting the chainsaw is unnecessary, but not as bad as clown when he vaults. It just removes some mind games you can do.

And his animations just don't feel good. Its not impactful to gameplay unless if you are prone to getting motion sick.

  • Trickster needs a lot of changes and a lot of buffs to be on the same level as a lot of ranged killers.

115% is an idea, but it won't fix all of his problems.

It's basically a band aid fix they can do so he isn't garbage on release, then they can start changing/buffing/reworking him so he can actually be good.

  • I really wish they would do more than just 2 hotfixes after every update.

Stuff like this gets left in the game for literal months.

1 2 3 4 … 13
