  • Honestly I don't know what you mean by gen rush. All my killer rounds so far have been well balanced. 2K, 2 3Ks, 4K, 6K and 2 7Ks. And the two 7Ks were actually the ones with voice-com.

…ALSO, this is a temporary event with NO perks, offerings or addons. Can people just chill and enjoy the chaos for two weeks?!

  • I agree with you that this game mode is so much fun. So much chaos and everyone just enjoying the gamemode… just a fun, casual experience I haven't felt since like 2017. And honestly, as a killer main since 2016, I'm not really bothered by the long queueing times (… we've had far worse queueing times at some point lol).

But I have to be really honest here, I think a 2v8 pema mode will have negative effects on this game on the long run:

First, it wouldn't be "special" anymore. And once that happens, people will do everything possible to keep "their fun" up. People will start to sweat again, comp scenes will establish again and 2v8 becomes unenjoyable. Also, I don't think that the player base is sufficient to support a 2v8 on top of a 1v4 mode. As far as I heard, killers are already experiencing longer queueing times in 4v1 due to 2v8.

I believe there needs to be a fine line of balance reagarding what the community wants and what is good for the game… I thought about having this mode as an anual or half-annual event with changing killer rosters.

You must have been so bad at the game you have the lowest mmr possible or you just installed the game if you face so many bad survivors and therefore you have no clue of what you are talking about. High mmr matches are just as hell as before. Stop spreading false informations about balancing when you clearly are not in the condition to speak for everyone. Talking about nerfing gen speed perks is just the next attempt to push devs changing the game in "SWF SWAT the Game" (a game when they can finish all the gens in 3 minutes and spamming gg ez at the end of the match. Wow so fun. But it's the killer's fault (just apply pressure 4head). (insert spongebob chicken meme here).

I suggest by your tone, you're high mmr right? If so, what's your average kill rate if I may ask...?

I agree that the balance has shifted and some fine tuning is needed but you really can't complain about having too easy games if you go full sweat.

You're saying games are to easy but you pick the best of the best because you're scared you might get a hard game. Isn't that's a bit silly?

    This. Thank you.

    so perks = skill??

sorry but if you can loop then there no need for the "meta"

    This! Thank you.

Also whenever I play soloQ, I figure most of the time players die not because they're super bad in chase but bc they simply don't have gamesense and make bad decisions at the worst possible time.

The thing is, when you run regression is because you're preparing yourself against good teams, but in the mean time you stomp 10 regular teams just in case you get a 4 man SWF. And probably if you don't have regression, you'd get rekt when you face them. So it's mostly a matter of maximizing your chances.

    Let's take your numbers:

    You take regression perks:

You get 10 boring games because they're too easy and one (probably) unenjoyable game against a 4-man bc perks probably won't help you either.

You take off gen regression perks, you get 10 enjoyable games and one where you get stomped on (but you need to remind yourself you probably would have gotten stomped on nevertheless). On top of that you learn to chase better, efficiently, learn how it is like to get punished for once mistakes and give all parties a more dynamic gameplay.

See what I'm trying to say?

I got rid of all regression perks (except maybe a corrupt on my trapper) 3 years ago and I haven't regretted it since.

You take your regression perks and have 10 boring games bc there are too easy. Then you get one 4-man lobby which will probably turn out unenjoyable aswell, bc normally perks won't help you against them either.

You see what I'm trying to say?

I've swapped off gen regressions 3 years ago and haven't regretted it since.

  • You kind of said it yourself... swap off those gen regression perks.

  • I'm going to be open and honest about this... I sometimes just need a vent in my life to let things out.

It's usually video games - but when those frustrate me (frustration in DBD whaaaat?), I let it out here in the forums (so yeah, basically just rant).

It used to be way worse and I'm not proud of what I did back when Steam forum still existed cough ... but I'm glad I found other ways to deal with bad things in life than video games and online forums.

  • Reading the title I'm like... "It's 2022 and I'm still stuck in December 2019... damn you covid".

Also what's wrong with warming up your aim?

  • Honestly, I feel it's overshadowed by Deadhard.

  • I mean.... there is that one popsicle...

    Download (1).jpeg

  • Turn on my obs and start recording and laugh when they actually get downed.

Wait but you can easily demolish ruin + undying within the first 30 seconds of game.... you can't do that with DH, every time you gotta assume they have it as a killer....

Regarding DH, true yes, hence why I think it deserves a nerf.

Regarding ruin+undying, theory and practice are two different things. There is a reason why so many killer players run this combo. Like I said, free value for nothing.

  • Haha you are funny.

The day DH gets nerfed, survivors will play overcome. The day overcome gets nerfed, survivors will play SB. The day SB gets nerfed, survivors will play lithe. The day lithe get's nerfed, survivors will play BL. The day BL get's nerfed, I'd be surprised if DBD still existed.

In all seriousness though, there is a reason why exhaustion has been meta since day 1 of this game: Free value for 0 input (except for headon and smash-hit ... but when do you ever see smash-hit, right?).

So if you want to nerf deadhard, you have to nerf the entire exhaustion set.

While we're at it, can we nerf free value killer perks, too? cough ruin undying cough

... we all know that's not going to happen :(

  • And... you think that's gonna help you getting camped less?

But hey, if you want to be part of the vicious cycle, go for it.

  • Reading all those comments saying

"... finally DH is worth using...."

    or

" I might actually reconsider taking DH into my build now..."

makes me wonder how many ppl actually don't know how to use DH. Like what makes it strong is the distance, not the i-frames.

  • I've had really bad stress during this semesters exams followed by bad anxiety while waiting for exam results.

Exercising (swimming in particular) helped me a lot. I usually go to the sauna after that aswell to relax even more. Good thing about exercising is that I also tend to sleep better afterwards.

Another thing is good food. I think it depends on the person what kind of food they prefer but I personally like a warm, hearty broth (Ramen).

  • I miss times when I didn't get stuck at every little object on the map.

Do you realize that 90% of perks in this game have no counter?

Though you are right, there is one thing that you forgot. Namely what differs DH from most of the other 90% of the perks:

Not all perks are as widely used as DH, therefore you see less of it.

AND not all perks are as oppressive as DH, meaning that most of the other perks don't get as much (free) value like DH.

(Take Brutal strength as an example - can you counter the faster kicking itself? Nope. Is it oppressive or anywhere close of giving you a free hit? Nope.)

Oh and yes, I forgot to add: Only bc there are let's say 5 mistakes in a game, doesn't mean it's okay to have a 6th one.

It just gets boring. Any remotely pro survivor/anti killer post will be extremely controversial, but when it’s the other way around, it’s seemingly completely fine to have that opinion?

Again, don't forget that this is the forum. You'll have to deal with that everytime you post here xD

  • @Bumbus said:

Dead hard has no counters and it is OK.

There are some things that are wrong about this perk though. Dead harding into wall with no animation should not be a thing, as well as dead harding through traps.

How is something that has no counter and free value with a button press okay?

Ruin only gives you regressing gens when someone's not on it that's about it.

NOED only gives you one hit downs on survivors. That's about it.

    Yep, pretty much this haha.

  • @ZaroktheImmortal said:

People should also remember you literally only get one chance to use dead hard in a chase and that's when you're already injured. It's not an infinite use ability that gets you away from killers it gives you a short boost which if timed right may dodge a killers strike or get you to a pallet drop point or a vault spot but that's about it.

You did not just say "that's about it", did you?

"Old purple instaheal just gave you one healthstate, that's about it"

"MoM 1.0 just gave you one healthstate after 3 hits, that's about it"

    See any patterns here?

Judging by the rest of the thread, I’d say I was right considering how angry they got! I’m fine with them all being nerfed, I use none regardless.

Don't forget the fact that this is the forum and ppl in here only represent one part of the commuity.

I know that ppl with your/my opinion are rare, though they do exist.

  • Though all three perks are different. Yes, I do want all three of those nerfed/changed.

Funny of you to assume ppl don't want to. :)

  • @fr0sty1223 said:

5 games in a row I had a killer who went around slugging everyone and then just left everyone to bleee out. The next 3 games after that the killers I faced all face camped 1 survior all game. Killers are intentionally trying to ruin games to make people quit right now and the devs do nothing about it. Something needs to be done

Wanna take a bet on what build those players use when playing survivor? - Little hint: Probably not less sweaty.

  • Now I know this is a bit of a spicy one.

    Survivor Perk: Now we're even.

Gain one token for each safe unhook up to a maxmimum of 3 tokens.

In a chase, while looking at one of your fellow teammates up to a maximum distance of 12m, press the active ability button (E) to tag the teammate.

The aura of the tagged survivor will be shown to the killer for 3s.

Tagging a teammate will cost one token.

    ... Yes, I really REALLY don't like Blendettes :D

Nope,Hoffman only uses gun, Amanda have body to body prison experience combat, she is also the "Executioner",killing with her own hands in the saga

What are you talking about? Hoffmann literally won a 3v1 with him stabbing two police officers with guns to death.

  • Noed and as a combo: Ruin+Undying.

    Urban and Sprinburst.

  • Back when the sabo meta existed, I mained Nurse and had a sabo trio in my lobby.

Well, you can imagine what happened, all hooks got saboed, though I still managed to get 2 kills thanks to the basement and irongrasp (which was meta back then).

I was still pretty pissed about the sabo round though decided to still write gg into the endgame chat. The trio thanked me for the round and asked me to join them in a KYF round since they loved playing against Nurses (back then Nurse was the least played killer).

I joined them with some pessimism but turned out they were like the most wholsesome persons I've met on the internet. Even now after 4 years and them quitting DBD, I still play with them regularly.

  • Can we move away from a balance point of view and address simply how unfun OoO is?

There is no other perk from neither side that wants me to smash the DC button like OoO. I find it extremely frustrating, unfun and also kind of uncomfortable being looked at by someone across the map from a safe distance who can read every move I make and predict what is going to happen next.

It has actually come to a point where I wouldn't even care if they "buffed" OoO so only the surv. can see the killer and not the other way around. Because if I didn't know I'm being watched, it doesn't really bother me.

  • I mean what is there to nerf though...?

He already is 110% and over the top of my head, the only two things I could think of getting nerfed are the scope-in time and projectile speed.

  • Everyone: Omg the new survivor Felix looks so hot sjwnbrjfzsv...

Me: He kinda looks like a Karen...

  • How is playing a killer you like sweaty?

  • Putting tuna on Pizza is fine.

Oh wait we're talking about DBD... OoO should be completely reworked or deleted.

  • Prettiest def. Quentin, pair his model up with Steves voice and it becomes pure perfection.

Is that enough to get me banned? xD

  • Because they are meta perks and it's boring and unfun to face metas. Usually they are also paired up with a lot of sweat.

Before anyone complains (I know, I know)... that's just the surv. side of the story, same goes for killer aswell.

  • I wouldn't underestimate Amanda. She might be a drug addict, but she still learned from the best. Just like Hoffman and John, you can be sure about her thinking one step ahead. She might be beatable at first but careful not to get into one of her unescapable traps.

  • Imagine Glenn facing Doc with his nail baseball bat.

I bet someone will have some real bad flashbacks.

  • Huntress be like:

    dd0.png

  • It's easy if you decide to play boring. Camp and pull pallets early, don't go for safes, loop the God windows only etc.

  • "The DS complaints... DS is used so much because of killers who are lazy and just want an easy kill. While I get that survivors would feel less reluctant to use DS if they weren't getting tunneled every game, I hate running DS it's boring as hell. But sadly I gotta force myself to run it because killers feel like it's fun to instantly down and target a somewhat exposed survivor. You only got yourselves to blame for the high usage of DS."

Let's be honest though, DS was meta basically since day 1 this perk was introduced. Saying that people use DS now because "kILleR sToP tUnNelLinG" doesn't make sense to me. Unless of course killers suddenly started to tunnel after DS got reworked? - No, I don't think so.

Meta is meta because it's the strongest setup/build. Not because it's some kind of reaction to an opposite side (e.g. what was old MoM supposed to counter). Meta is boring and ppl will naturally complain about it.

  • How about this:

DS expires once a different survivor is hooked and when one is not slugged.

However, DS timer is paused once slugged. This mechanic trumps the DS expiration mentioned above.

DS expires once getting out of dying state again, either by teamm8s or perks (e.g. umbreakable).

  • The definition of "skill" is very blurry, isn't it?

I mean doesn't it take as much/not less skill to perform good on a killer that naturally has a weaker kit (e.g. Wraith), than playing the strongest killer in the game?

  • 1. Endgame Perks should be deleted for the health of this game.

    2. Too many perks have too much inpact on this game.

  • Filip would be funnier.

  • Wannabe Pig Main, yes but I don't really like them.

  • Hoffman would've been better anyway 🐖
