I went into my Statistics (Track State), and I found something that made me curious.
I’ve played this game for a total of 5,819.4 hours. But when I look at my Track State, across all Killers and Survivors, the combined hours only add up to around 1,500. So where did the remaining 4,319.4 hours go? I’d like to know when this statistic started being recorded, or if there’s an explanation for how the Track State system works. Thank you.
It only accounts for stats from 2020 and onward. I felt the same way, but it is what it is. I can provide proof if needed, but it should say it in the steam section for when it was implemented.

Thanks, never knew these even existed till this post. Seems I missed other games quests as well. Appreciate letting me and others know!

I don't get the frame drops a lot tho I only get it if the killer is trickster or freddy for some reason
Odd how that's selective, it's almost like the games telling you something.

Ah so that's what they meant, the FPS drop attributes to that issue.
Also I'm surprised you randomly replied with that after awhile. I forget if we were having this exact conversation but it went silent until now.

I don't have a problem with it tbh Only the frame drops are annoying if my frames didnt drop the perk would be cool
Then I consider myself lucky to not encounter that issue.

Yes. Plenty of people have been reporting this. The frame drops are kind of similar to when you'd get bloodlust 1 as a killer.
That sounds horrible tbh. I hope when the new generation of consoles takes off, so too will the optimization. But only time will tell and i'm not an expert on the matter anyways.

Sloppy is fine, i don't think it's even top perk for killer. Mangled effect is 15% btw not 20. It used to be 20 before they nerfed healing.
Base selfcare speed is 32 seconds + 15% so sloppy will add up another 4,8 seconds. Not earth shattering. With team heals it will add only 2,4 seconds. I think old school ruin, pop combo and then Freddy's slowdown addons were much more oppressive.
Wiki says 20% so either that's wrong or your information is (not trying to sound rude).
Either way, I get what you mean though. When comparing it to perks that add more bonuses then debuffs, it's only a minor convenience at the end of the day. Even if it was 20% or 15%, it's still not a lot.

"Even if it's not Blight or Spirit, it's still not fun to see the perk on any Killer that usually runs meta builds. Why would I want to be chased by The Legion who already adds healing penalties when Frenzy is put into the mix?"
I hear Legion's Frenzy doesn't apply Sloppy Butcher, and I don't mean for the Deep Wound either. Flat out disabled with Frenzy. Is this true? I tried to test it myself and the blood did seem normal compared with the normal hit I left on another of them.
I mean if you get hit by frenzy (which happens like 90% of the time with legion anyways) it doesn't really matter if it applies sloppy or not into the mix, the initial down afterwards is why it becomes annoying. But you most likely already know that, I'm just clarifying for no reason.
The point is that I see what you mean, why would anyone want to face strong or anti-healing Killers with a perk that adds even more anti-healing into the mix? Annoying, yes. OP? No, but you can argue it's unfair with the right circumstances.

Thats what i said...
Yes but I'm saying you could argue it's one of his best perks is what I mean. Since it literally keeps survivors injured if they don't heal and drops more orbs. It's probably one of the best Killer and Perk relationships in the game.
-
@DwightFairfield said:
I think it's stupid and a waste of a perk slot.
It won't stop an experienced survivor from evading you, and healing isn't survivor priority #1, so if you think it'll slow the game down you're sorely mistaken.
It's also a perk that activates on basic attacks, so only good on M1 killers who don't heavily rely on their power to deal damage (So no Demogorgon Lunge, Deathslinger reel-than-hit, Feral Frenzy Hit)
Hemorrhaging isn't the best, as despite the fact there's more blood, on some maps it's impossible to track, and the noises survivors make are usually muffled or staunched by their perks.
If you think it'll help in the long run, nope, because some of the meta is derived of powerful healing perks that ignore status effects, like Adrenaline, or Inner Strength
I'd recommend literally anything else, it'll do a better job at winning you games than Sloppy, and you won't notice a difference other than less blood spurts coming from the survivor when you hit them
Note: the only killer i'd consider it remotely good on is Spirit, because you can see blood while phasing, however it's still outclassed by other tracking perks (Stridor), following scratch marks, and watching the grass shift
Actually the reel-than-hit on Deathslinger works with Sloppy because that's still a basic attack, regardless if it's given from a harpoon shot. You can see this is the case since NOED works with it, so Sloppy naturally would too.
But yeah, if we're talking a SWFs or a good team then of course Sloppy is basically worthless in that scenario. But you have to think about the average matches you get, which is usually average players to bad players (especially at red ranks somehow.) So realistically, Sloppy is the meta even if it doesn't work well against a good/very good team.
But is it unfair, alone no. With other combinations it's subjective. But usually if it's used on a killer with map mobility, it can then be considered unfair. Like spirit, yes Stridor, Whispers, anything else is usually a better choice. But if you're a good spirit, Sloppy will destroy a team. Imagine never healing against a Killer that relies entirely on sound, that SOUNDS (pun intended) awful.
Usually on anyone else it's fine. But Killers like Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Oni, anyone with mobility or powers that go well with Sloppy is usually what causes the annoyance or hatred.

No. Your fps drop to about zero for a few seconds...and then you are teleported in which ever way you happened to hold left stick for those couple if seconds
That makes no sense to me. That doesn't happen to me when facing Sloppy and I've been facing a lot of them tonight. Are you sure you're not just speaking in-general for when survivors get hit? Because from personal experience I don't face this issue.

I used to think it was an unfair and overused perk, but it works well with my Oni. After i realized i didn't need Nurses Calling with it, it was the only perk i could think of that would benefit it most.
I would argue that benefits Oni a lot, considering more orbs drop the longer the heal takes.

Yeah, but I also have a personal vendetta against Adrenaline because of the playstyle it promotes for both sides.
Fair enough. I too hate Dead Hard with a passion and kind of wish the distance from it would get removed. (To clarify I hate the distance because of the DH for distance meme. The perk itself is primarily easy to bait)
We all dislike somethings, some more then others.
-
@HellDescent said:
Sloppy butcher is a good anti-looping perk on ps4. You'll lose about 2 seconds of distance or will just run into a wall after getting hit
But... that just happens because a Survivor is not paying attention to what's in-front of them?

I haven't really had it since the Ruin nerf. Now they've been replacing DS with Adrenaline and ahem have been leaning into its strengths.
It's what it's, teams and players as a whole will naturally use what's the strongest at that time. DS was that exact thing, now it's something else. if it's not one thing, eventually another takes its place. Although in some cases, many would argue that players using DS less and Adrenaline more is a win win.

@ukenicky said:
I think it all depends really. In my opinion, Sloppy is a well designed, powerful perk for most killers. Some killers don't even benefit running it though, for example my main Plague but that's because she renders healing impossible through her power.
I like to bring Botany Knowledge + Medkit or We'll Make It as I'm much more of an altruistic / healer type survivor and when I do, Sloppy doesn't affect me and my teammates at all since I can counteract the penalty. However, exceptionally good survivors can also counter Sloppy by simply not getting hit a second time. Builds exist that utilize Iron Will, Resilience, Dead Hard and whatever 4th perk you like so that when you're injured you are much more efficient and actually harder to kill.
So it's interesting that Sloppy can be really nasty when comboed with things like Thana or Nurses Calling but Survivors have a couple ways of countering it themselves. I really truly think it's a balanced, strong perk. At its worst it's annoying for sure but the only people who would call this "unfair" are likely people who don't understand how to deal with it.
Which is usually the case when it comes to people saying X is unfair because of Y. They either don't understand how to counter it or just outright hate the perk and automatically label it unfair.
You can say we've all been at that point. But at the end of the day, it isn't a perk that could be called for a nerf. So in a way, that's all you can really ask for.

Wish I could say the same, but I always have to deal with little frame drops every time Sloppy Butcher comes into play. They are not that bad, just annoying.
And yes, the fast and sweaty type of DBD is the worst type of DBD. If I want to play killer, that means I want to enjoy a nice and slow game. Fast-paced trials are just dull and boring.
Unfortunately some disagree with that, they want to end the game as soon as possible, by extension they want a challenge. Sometimes though seeking a challenge comes at the cost of limiting your expectations, which ALSO ironically limits what you consider is fun.
-
@MadLordJack said:
Sloppy Butcher is a fantastic perk. It does what it does well and, unlike so many people, I actually bother to bring healing perks because I'm not a sheep and I know, from my own experience, that the survivor meta isn't meta because it's the only strong perks survivors have.
My only problem with it is that it does nothing agaisnt your average sweat squad now that they've all gone back to running Adrenaline and genrushing.
Edit: And by "average" I do mean average, I'm not saying you can't beat them but also it does mean that you have a perk whose secondary effect is borderline useless in half the maps.
That's fair, but I rarely see a good SWFs now a days. Even an average one is rare to find for some reason, it's usually just meme builds or cocky SWFs that just end in their death.
Also I don't see what you mean by "gone back to running Adrenaline and genrushing" since they've done that most of the time anyways. My guess as to what you mean is that the DS nerf loosened up a slot, so they're using that perk to fill it.
-
@GeneralV said:
My only problem with Sloppy Butcher are the small frame drops when the killer hits you with it. Other than that, I really like this perk.
As others have already pointed out here, Sloppy Butcher is a decent perk that rewards you for basic attacks. It works well with other perks and survivors can basically ignore it if they want to. A very balanced perk.
There is another reason why I like this perk, but it isn't very relevant to the discussion. If you allow me to share: I really like Sloppy Butcher because I absolutely despise fast-paced trials, so anything that slows the game down is a win in my book.
I dont have that issue with the frame drops, so unfortunately I can't relate.
And I can understand why you like the perk, it makes sense that the Killer wants the trial to go on longer so he can continue to play, rather then a team ending it as soon as possible. Which ironically makes the game dull if it just ends within 6 minutes or so.
-
@gatsby said:
If you hate Sloppy just run Leader so your teammates always heal you quickly?
What if they don't have Sloppy? Then the perk is useless. The bonus is nice, but the bonus itself only adds so much if your team doesn't heal you or you yourself want to use other perks instead.
Honestly Botany helps more, since you can heal others afflicted with the mangled affect. Even if they're not, it's nice to have a 33% bonus to healing.
-
@Boss said:
Kinda weak, it'll add about 3.6 seconds per regular heal on its own.
If you like the idea of those small additions adding up overall, or seeing potential in the small addition, or want to combine it for some anti-heal stuff, go right ahead.
I'm not digging it and also recently removed "Blind Warrior" - White (Sloppy Butcher in Add-on form for Wraith) from my Bloodweb preferences list.
I think that's why I'm seeing Sloppy + Thanato a lot right now.
@AVoiceOfReason said:
I don't think its that great in general. I barely notice the difference most of the time. It also forces you to M1 for the effect so its not even very good on some killers. Yeah, it's like you said it really depends on what Killer is using it.

It's a poor optimization problem.
Whenever you get hit with a status effect,a survivors gets hooked/unhooked,a new icon appears on your screen (e.g Prove Thyself,Dying Light) you'll see FPS drops/screen freezes.
That's the case for all las gen consoles (PS4,Xbox One,Switch) and i guess Low to Mid end PCs.
Odd how an icon addition or change can do that.
-
@Unicorn said:
Its fine to me besides the fact that my screen freezes when getting hit by a Killer who’s running it. Sometimes I’ll lose my footing and end up running into a rock or something, then go down because of how bad I froze.
Is that a console thing? Or are you on PC? I remember that being an issue in the past for console, so that's why I ask.
If you're PC though, then perhaps your specs just can't handle the sudden "blood fountain" animation when you're hit.

Legion is a bad example because you almost never want to heal against him anyway (except in some case like basement rescues).
What exactly would you consider as unfair if we're talking about Sloppy?
Well I could argue you should heal against him since that's primarily what will negate the power itself, but then you could argue not healing isn't exactly bad if you already have a grasp on looping in itself.
Perhaps saying it's unfair is strong, considering my comments suggest it's more akin to annoying then unfair. But if we're talking what exactly could make it unfair, I could probably give an idea.
For one, most survivors don't play in a SWFs team and we all know how dreadful solos is already. So when you add in something like Sloppy, it really can make things a bit tricky. Some survivors inherently need to heal everytime they're injured, either because they're not confident in their looping skills or they believe there's no risk in doing so.
The issue this brings is when everyone actively believes the same goal. I could even argue not healing when you don't have the skill to loop without the extra health state is also detrimental to the chase in itself. But this goes back into what you said before "it was their choice". Yes it's and them being downed because they refused to heal is also on them. But realistically it's not also just on them this also harms the team in itself because someone else has to go and get them.
This then sets off a chain reaction that potentially gets the "unhooker" hit with sloppy, then the rest of the issue ensues. Even now while I postponed sending this comment, I got a match with a Bubba using Sloppy. They were using Speed Limiter so obviously it's a fair trade, but the point is that the perk isn't that uncommon, probably because it's fairly balanced.
So in the end, it REALLY DOES just depend on the scenario honestly. I realized that after discussing this with the comments above, I might've in itself accidently mislabeled what I personally believe the perk to be. Is it unfair by itself? Not really, it's actually balanced like you suggested. But is it annoying? I would say yes, at least for me. This I believe is what I was getting at before, but I wasn't being as clear as I could be.
I'll change what I said above as well because the perk itself isn't what makes it unfair, rather it really just depends on what Killer has it, their combos, etc. I suppose in itself I can ask the question if it's unfair OR just annoying, because then that'd make a more interesting discussion.

I cant really say if that's the end all solution, since some argue it's needed while some don't. Personally, it isn't the most outlandish suggestion to a change. 90 seconds isn't short, but you could argue it's a bit long. Perhaps 80?

The only thing I disagree with is the carrying part. It isn't like other perks where some of them can carry a bad killer, but I'd argue it has done so from time to time, just because of the fact that some survivors refuse to heal because of the time restraint. You could argue that's their fault, but I could argue it's a lot more boring to heal with a 20% penalty then it's to get downed in one hit.
That's a bit weird because every single perk in the game carries you to some degree.
If they don't heal,then that's on them.It's a risk they choose to take.And at the end of the day it's really only a 4 second longer heal so it's not that bad.
A fair point. Realistically it's like my reply to you suggests, people prefer to argue against what's tolerable then what's OP. Like is Spirit OP? Some argue yes and the stats usually suggest that's the case. Is Blight OP? Some also argue yes, but it really boils down to skill alone with their flicks.
All in all, my point is that people usually hate more annoying gimmicks then OP ones. But then you could argue the same for OP ones also being annoying in themselves. A fairly subjective thing really.
-
@WiiFitTrainer said:
It's a decent perk but yeah there are bwtter ones. It counters self care pretty good since usually atleast 1 person is running it in every game.
That and Botany, especially if it's a healing build or everyone is using med-kits. But sometimes not everyone uses med-kits or healing perks, which usually is more often then some people think.
So it kinda borders on unfair and fair when we're talking scenarios. But what isn't argued as unfair or fair when you bring that to the table.
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
I would never ever consider Sloppy Butcher as an unfair perk.
Quite the opposite actually.It's a very well balanced perk.And rewards the player a bit more for their basic attacks.
It's not a perk that can carry the killer (e.g old Ruin) , because the killer has to put effort into getting value from it.
The fact that you can combo it very well with other perks is also a good sign of good perk design.
Also,you can choose to ignore it completely and save a LOT of time by doing that correctly.
That's a fair comment and I can actually agree with you for the most part. If you use Sloppy on most M1 killers that need help, it's quite fair in that regard. The perk can also be ignored outright, which can actually make it worthless if a team doesn't need to heal.
But I can also argue it isn't fair when we're specific on what it's paired with and who is using it (I.E. what Killer is using it). By itself I can agree it's fairly balanced, but I can't say it isn't annoying. OP? No, not even with other perks.
Like the example above, do you really want to face Legion who chain-stabbed the entire team and downed you with Sloppy? I personally wouldn't. But you can also argue that Killer isn't strong and could use the support. So really it just boils down to what's tolerable, since if we're talking perks themselves... annoying is sometimes worse then OP.
-
@TAG said:
If I'm being honest, I'd rather Mangled be made stronger on add-ons that inflict it and then Sloppy itself just be re-worked into something else. I virtually never feel like I want to use Mangled add-ons because Sloppy exists.
This I can agree with, I never use mangled add-ons either for this exact reason. Why would I use an add-on on a Killer that applies the mangled effect, when I could just use Sloppy and a better add-on that could benefit me even more?
It's like the Blindness effect argument, the status effect itself on rarer add-ons isn't really helpful, so people question why its on something like Purple or Green add-ons.

Thats my basic views on the perk, a very strong perk that is painful to go against, but not necessarily op, i dont think its ever carried a poor killer for example.
Sounds like we see eye to eye. I also believe in what you've said, especially since I play Killer more and even I hate this perk. Sometimes I'll use it if I see 4 med-kits in a match, but even then it doesn't feel rewarding.
As for survivor, who doesn't hate healing for a longer portion of time? It just takes away from being chased and doing gens.
The only thing I disagree with is the carrying part. It isn't like other perks where some of them can carry a bad killer, but I'd argue it has done so from time to time, just because of the fact that some survivors refuse to heal because of the time restraint. As for Billy, I rarely see Billy anymore personally. Not sure if that's just me or that nobody plays him anymore after the chainsaw rework.

As Someone who plays both sides i don't mind facing it. It's just annoying seeing my Teammates heal in a corner of the Map with Selfcare while im on the Hook. But let's face. They would do it with or without Sloppy so it doesn't really change that.
There is Perks that should be looked over more i think.
Very fair comment, especially with that healing part. I too see that quite often and that's just another issue all together. For some reason some survivors need to be behind a wall before they can heal, despite the Killer being half way across the map and clearly chasing someone else...

Because it's a challenge for me when every new DLC comes out, I attempt to P3 them day 1 or day 2 and then put this together so players can preview the prestige outfit for themselves, rather then getting the DLC and doing it themselves if they don't want to put the effort into that specific Killer.
Also, the only real headach was doing the Adept for this Killer, mostly because they're so low tier. With an actual build their still Low-Tier but not as bad as before (granted it still requires a lot of work to play him at Red Ranks). I've P3'ed Clown, Wraith, Trapper, and even Pre-Buff Freddy. It doesn't really matter what you spend the BPs on, as long as you have a goal at the end of the day.

Im suprised people find that mori at all interesting, such a waste of potential.
He could have literally used his baseballbat AS a baseballbat and throw knives up in the air and hit them with the bat towards the survivor and balistic speed.
Or maybe use the bat as a hammer and methodically hammer the knives (like nails) into a survivor.
just anything other then....just throwing them like is normal gameplay already is.
I think the idea behind the mori was to focus more on the knives themselves, primarily because they were in his backstory. From what little I read about it, it seems the knives actually played a role in how he started as a sort of "showman" in his fathers restaurant.
I didn't read it entirely but I assume they also are involved in how he kills people as well, considering he's a murderer. Using the bat would be a nice touch to the mori itself, but it seems they wanted to focus on a more... I don't know... magic show kill I guess? Like he's using the survivor as a target for knife practice.

Jokes aside, I've been doing P3 showcases since Demogorgon, and with a lot of hate this Killer has been getting I just assumed showing a preview would give people an idea of what it might look like. Considering a lot of people might not get the DLC because of the backlash, it was just my way of showing it off to anyone who might not get the chance to get it themselves.

Before anyone says it, they technically didn't delay the chapter if they never announced its release. Chapter releases are primarily speculative without a formal release date.
Besides that, I'd personally like to see Trick Knife be in his base-kit with Thumb Drive, or at least a 4.6 M/S increase.

Ha ha, neither do I.
The only comparison-ish to that atm is probably like Soul Guard, Adren, DS, and Unbreakable. But Soul Guard is only really annoying if you downed someone at a gate who has DS active and Soul Guard to negate a hit.
But that doesn't come close to MoM, which literally allowed someone with full health at a gate on 80% to take both hits and open it and DH into the exit.

Sure we complained when they reworked ruin and they destroyed undying but if you think about it. No perk killer has ever had was even close to the power of DS.
I know you said "No killer perk has come close", but remember pre-nerf MoM? Now that was busted, especially when used with DS.
But besides that, I'd argue pre-nerf Ruin might've been the closest contender to that claim. As of current perks it'd probably be Undying until it's nerfed... maybe.

I'd say that the clunky way Main Event activate (you need to throw a blade at someone, then totally stop to be able to activate the thing itself that will THEN take a couple of seconds AGAIN) coupled with the fact that you STILL need to spend a good couple of seconds targeting someone to get it down while being extremely slowed down often means that you just wont have any chance to down more than one person... often a person that you would have down anyway since you were already throwing blades at them (its the reason why you got Main Event activated in the first place), and stopped for a couple of second to get the main event started.
That's one of the main problem of Main Event (outside of the fact that for some baffling reasons you cannot just keep it ready to use whenever you see fit), it's activation takes way too long and is way too clunky, having to stop throwing at someone to then start the event feels just bad, the thing shouldn't have an activation delay and should be usable while already throwing blades.
Right, if they just let you preserve it like Myers Tier lll then it'd see more use. Of course in certain circumstances this would arguable be busted under the right conditions, so reducing the time of it while also letting you preserve it would be a fair trade.
Not an insane time cut, but not one that allows you to chain down multiple survivors if your add-ons are good and your aim isn't bad. But you could also argue because of its limitations, it wouldn't need a time cut at all.

While blinding I wouldn’t say although some way disagree and tbagging and survivors using OoO for example yes. It’s more or less the actual visual in game isn’t so much as toxic as is the intent behind people doing certain actions in game that people consider toxic. They know it’s to bait a reaction or to frustrate the other player.
That's fair, but I'd argue it's realistically nothing compared to... other examples.
Like of course being chased by a OoO user is annoying and naturally you down them immediately because they already pose an issue in-game, especially if they're insane, but if we again ignore the post-chat it really doesn't mean much. To most, this is just a minor inconvenience that eventually ends and moves on.
Now if you faced a OoO user every game with a SWFs, then that'd make more sense. But realistically it's more like comparing a mosquito bite to a shark bite. But I can already assume you don't disagree that there are worse examples to this.

Exactly.
While I don’t play it myself one of my friends plays SMITE and that makes this game look like the friendliest place in earth
I guess when you think about it, a lot of players seem to ONLY just play DBD for the most part. So naturally it makes sense where this comes from since they primarily play this game.
In some cases this could also just be because they've never seen... other examples.

My point is its been worse as far as que times. It took a long time to get at a 10 min que, however i typically experience 3-5 mins wait. However waiting was always the biggest part of this game for a long time so i dont fret
It's different with everyone honestly, that's really what it boils down to. Like you I also just pass time with a video or something until the match begins, but for others they just want to go from one match to another. Makes sense right? You want to play the game.
And I understand your comparison of course, but it again really depends on perspective. Like I could argue anyone who complains about DS right now doesn't understand the struggle of old DS if they've never faced it, but that isn't really relevant to the current issue right? It was in no way to bash your point, it's just a perspective I'm giving for you to judge I guess.

I know the basics, use the power on short height loops or in open space but the ones I go up against are either running straight to a strong and high height loops like shack and those loops on ormond and swamps where its better to just M1 rather to power. Another thing is why bother to use the main Power, the showstopper? You cant save it, cant use when you need it, and when you use it, has a wind up and a stun in the end?? Then you cant throw knives for a time like who comes up with this crap?
Out of most matches I probably only use Show Stopper when there's no windows, pallets, or corners around. Otherwise the power just get wasted since by the time I get it I already downed someone, hooked them, and the power ends.
But in the right circumstances, though rare, it's quite effective in downing multiple survivors. Add Trick Knife and Thumb Drive and you're downing people left and right.
Otherwise yeah, most survivors who know what to do against The Trickster will naturally abuse loops you can't possible catch up to. Unfortunately there isn't much of a fix to that, either break the chase or power through to either get stunned or lose multiple gens.

Just from my experience playing games like overwatch, COD and Halo make DBD seem very tame to me
As much as some people might not want to hear it, there is a lot worse toxicity in other games.
Like if you ignore post-chat for a second, what's really toxic in-game? Being t-bagged and blinded or something?

Id say 10 minutes isnt acceptable but its nothing for people to get their head twisted about.
No of course not, but think of it like this.
If you played every game and it required 10 minutes to just get one match, would that not eventually make you furious? I personally don't experience queue times like that, my max is prolly 3 minutes on either side, but 10 minutes really does add to the frustration if you're looking to play a session for 3 hours or more.
Your previous experience with 3-4 hours is literally unplayable, so I'd argue it isn't the best comparison if you want my brutal opinion.
