Should moris be the same and basekit?

I love the mori animations but a mori in itself doesnt give a lot of points like if you ebony everyone you blackpip. I really dont want to have to use a mori to see the animation though. So why dont the mori offerings stay the same and just make it so you can mori on deathhook? Ebony could stay the same but itd be a disadvantage compared to double hook moring. Same with the other moris like the green one you can mori anyone but still less points. Also it gives survivors more wiggle room since the killer would have to down them 3 times to mori (unless the survivor goes into second state but thats the other survivors faults) Also itd allow us to see those sweet animations more. (Honestly though id be more all for removing moris and just making them basekit but moris are at war with keys rn).

  • Id be fine if they remove ebony all together and kept cypress and ivory. Keys i'd be fine if it only opened the hatch for the one using it.

Same and youd still see the animation (which i love the mori animations) also if survivors know the killer can always mori on deathhook they can plan to counter it like ds and bt.

  • If they are basekit on death hook and remove the possibility to kill someone early, it would need to count as a hook. Regarding emblem progress and also triggering Pop or BBQ. But in the current key-vs-mori state, I would not change anything. There is a bit of rework necessary. And hopefully that comes in one step, and not in wreck-ruin and some weeks later nerf-toolboxes steps

  • Mori is a skip button and a luxury item. You don't need to find a hook. You don't need to pick them up. It removes them from the game, and can can turn a losing game into a winning one.

Which is why at the end i said id rather just get rid of ebony and keep ivory and cypress (since they would give a slight advantage) and just make moring on deathhook basekit. (I do it mostly with ebony anyway because its more points that way) this allows even non leveled killers to see the moris and lowers the grind of dbd a bit (because a ebony is 7k points) because honestly if your on deathhook would you rather die on the hook or die in fashion? (I personally dm getting morid when im on deathhook)

IMO, even Ivory is kinda too strong. You down someone, tunnel 'em off the hook, and bam. Down to three people. I'd gut Ebony and Ivory, and make Cypress base kit.

I could see cypress being base if survivor doesnt find the hatch they get morid because either way they should lose in that scenario.

  • Moris should work only if every survivor was hooked atleast once. And make the yellow mori basekit.

Keys shouldn't be able to open the hatch for everyone, just for the one with the key, cannot open a hatch after the killer close it and the addons should be reworked. I mean, you can have wallhacks for killers and survivors for more than 30 seconds. How do you think a killer can mindgame anything if you pair that key with OoO? It would be such a pain in the arse.

I mean under a 2 hook mori basekit youd have to either tunnel and get genrushed or hook each person anyway. I do like the idea of cypress basekit though since survivors get hatch.

I think with the amount of awesome mori animations and really high possibility that Devs are making custom mori animations, at least cypress mori should be basekit.

Yeah everyone seems to agree on that. I just thought if the survivors gonna die if hooked one more time anyway might as well die in style.

  • I would like them to add an option to base kit after a surv has been hooked twice, you down them and pick them up, still gives them a chance for DS, but it also gives you the choice to mori them when within 8m of a hook if you drop them. Would count as the third hook also. I think this is pretty fair.

Theres a lot of ways the devs could make it work this might make ds even more of a must pick but sure and if the survivors unfortunate to be downed right next to a hook even with ds thats their fault.

Have fun with keys and 4 tool boxes to get 4 gens to 25% so by the time you hook 1 survivor to death hook 3-4 gens pop. And if you manage to gain one mori, then good luck with the key cause if they find the hatch they all escaping.

So if you are going to nerf Moris to death hook nerf Keys to 6 unhooks.

Because suggesting Moris as basekit is ridiculous IMO. Especially since litterally on my poll if the game is survivor Sided or killer Sided most people picked the option survivor Sided. Because it truly is. They balance around a 2K meaning a Draw. But with all of these 2nd chance survivor perks (which killers have pretty much a few) even a 2K with the best killers could be a challenge. Killers are supposed to be OP. That's their basekit. But every update makes them vulnerable. Like with the Undetectable update it made Myers in Tier 1 useless because of spine chill. So please if you want to nerf something or make something basekit then please make Cypress basekit. Let Ebony and Ivory be offerings with out the drastic nerf.

If they made keys personal and made ebony base (after 2 hooks) and cypress base and kept ivory that would lower the game skipping. But yeah i could see keeping ivory because getting one survivor out of the game is essential.

  • No, Mori's should not be basekit "on death hook". There's a lot that can happen on the way to the hook. Cypress Mori being base would be fine. But using a mori on death hook? Way too powerful to be basekit.

Even though your supposed to die once downed that last time according to the devs. The wiggle bar is to avoid being taken to the basement. And the game is already easy enough for survivors with this new sabo and gen speeds.

  • Cypress should be basekit. Ivory and Ebony need to be reworked/removed entirely.

People like bringing up keys when discussing moris because they both basically skip the endgame.

It's not just about the wiggle bar, it's about DS, flashlight saves, bodyblocking, sabotage, etc. Nice as the idea of seeing mori animations more might be in theory, this is a buff to killers, not just a cosmetic change, and should be discussed as such.

That's not my point though. Ivory and Ebony both should be offerings still and should only have the 1 hook requirement. Heres my reason:

Survivors in many games especially Red Ranks can avoid Ebony Moris and Ivory Moris entirely by not getting hooked once. I have escaped many killers who brought in a mori while my group escaped before me.

Moris are counterable, if you loop the killer long enough 2-3 gens pop. He leaves you. Another survivor loops the killer 1-2 gens pop and boom Exit gates are activated, Hatch is ready to be opened, all have fair game to escape. While the killer never got 1 hook or 1 down. (Maybe 1 hit once in awhile).

And with keys and 2nd chance perks it is nearly impossible to get a Mori in the EGC or even in the entirty of the game And slightly possible if you as the killer can provide essential pressure.

So nerfing Moris to 2 hooks is unnecessary, and making ebony and ivory base kit is also unnecessary. The only one that could be base kit is Cypress because no one uses that offering in the slightest and could be useful in a few situations.

Ds which is already talking about how its abused and needs nerfed. New sabo is a problem in a swf so are flashlight saves. Plus with how fast the game goes anyway for survivors. Dont survivors have enough chances up till that last down? Ive downed them 3 times (which i could have gotten hit by ds hit by bt or sabo denied up to that point) eventually itd be time for the killer to say "enough im getting this kill" and mori them.

Yes i understand i mean if they made it basekit and kept the current moris you wouldnt know the difference anyway since youd ebony before the basekit mori anyway. Cypress would be good as basekit though since noone uses it and survivors have hatch).

  • Saying Mori's are counterable because you can loop the killer for 3 gens, and then another survivor loops them for the last two is ridiculous. You get ONE bad teammate, and they get Mori'd straight off the hook and good luck finishing then. "Don't get caught!" is equivalent of telling killers "Just pressure gens!"

That's what I'm saying should be the topic of discussion. Not whether moris should be basekit because the animations are cool, but whether this is a buff that killers need. I was just pointing out, for the sake of fair discussion, that there are important things other than the wiggle mechanic to take into consideration here.

The name fits lol. Theres a difference between me having to hook you twice to where youd die on the hook anyway and you just having to go press r1 on a box and escape the trial.

  • You ever see how many survivors disconnect right before the Mori animation? You'd have 4 disconnects in every game with Mori basekit. LMAO!

  • @iBetClaudette said:

Go ahead because im a rank 4 survivor who actually doesnt mind getting morid. Because if the killer hooked me twice they earned it. A key is not really earned (especially when you literally have addons to keep it) enjoy your dc penalty.

    PS_Messages_20200222_080147.jpg

  • I'm also a rank 4 (Prestige 3) survivor. I don't DC but many do and adding a Mori basekit will be a DC parade, regardless of penalties. Don't expect an added killer basekit without a survivor added basekit as well.

Survivors have a basekit called friendship and parties which is pretty strong.

  • I agree with that. Survivors do have that advantage

  • @Peanits End the debates. Delete Key's and Mori's. Make Yellow Mori basekit if the survivor was at least hooked twice that match.

  • Yellow mori should be basekit quite honestly and I'd be fine with the other two mori offerings being harder to acquire.

I also don't consider yellow mori basekit worth even considering keys basekit for a few of those post. If you're downed as the last survivor on the map you're almost always dead anyway. The only reason to think otherwise is if you have DS active near an escape.

  • The one problem I have with this idea is the tunneling potential. If a survivor gets unhooked a second time, I can just focus on that survivor and then mori him out of the game, since I wouldn't have to worry about saves, or most importantly, DS. The only thing left for survivors would be BT and Bodyblocking. So I would have to disagree with this idea.

  • I've always liked the last hook = mori idea but then you'd probably never see a hook kill again. Which kind of defeats the purpose of the game as we're meant to be feeding the entity...

  • Moris should never be base kit anymore than keys should. I'd like moris to be after 2and hook and keys only work for one person.

  • @Warlock_2020 said:

The problem is keys are a lot easier since as others die or as gens get done you could just find the hatch with swf. Base moris youd need to hook twice and down 3-4 times (with ds or unbreakable).

If you are finding the hatch with 3 gens done, you are alone and the killer has already won. If you sat around waiting for this moment, you will get crap BP.

Where is the problem here? The only thing they need to do with keys is limit the number of people who can get out via 1 key. Purple gets 1, Pink gets 2. Have to have 3 gens done if 2 people are left and those 2 people have to be SWF or work together. Again, not an issue.

Keys are not that bad and are nowhere near as common as moris and mori perks. 1 of every 3 matches as survivor has a mori in it. I've only seen 3 keys in the past 4 weeks. I run killer way more than I do survivor.
