So because there are people that dont want to play the game this weekend, you dont want them to come back at all because they took a break over these three test days? Sounds pretty childish.

They can play all they want. They just won't be able to have any of their pride saying "i was there for this".

It's childish taking your ball and going home. And misconstruing my words is dishonest.

  • Because everything that goes live after a PTB is perfectly functioning and isn't riddled with bugs. Good job PC fats.

PTB is a dick measuring contest for PC mustards and nothing more. This is a step in the right direction for having real results.

They should have just disabled Bloodlust and not said anything about it. Call it a bug Sunday morning and have it "fixed" by monday after they've collected their data. Announcing it is just going to result in a dramatic change in the player base and play styles where they probably won't be able to determine all that much accurately.

That will definitely add to their rapport with the players. Blatantly lying. Isn't this transparency what we want?

And people like OP can avoid the game all they want during these tests, but if it actually contributes to the game functioning better, I don't want to see them in the winners circle at the end.

Yea lets forget windows pallets and lockers. Exists

(lockers only work is they full commited all charges to you and didnt down someone)

and being in possibly a dead zone and about the hook thing same could be said for billy and Michael michale pops t3 one goes down and so dose another if they trade

Unless you have Head-On, lockers are a one way ticket to being hooked. If you're DS'd, it's a one way ticket to being sacrificed. It's lose lose.

Enduring and Bamboozle. That leaves two gen perks. Sure as hell don't need anything else when you can one hit down everything.

they should buff solos by giving them SWF resources like VOIP etc.

Then they can and should balance the game properly.

Regular groups will never be on par with a coordinated group. They'll have a strategy already planned out, and will execute it flawlessly. Your dreams of a ragtag group of rejects pulling together to win is a fools paradise.

Solo's are delusional if they think anything will improve with some mouthbreather with their fan pointed at the mic barking orders like a drill sergeant, then blaming everyone for not following their sagely advice. It'll be end game chat x's 1000. And no voice filter for when they call you a [Bad Word].

What they could do is change hook mechanics for solo. Eliminate the timer between hooks and allow it to be more forgiving. Facecamping someone who will never go into struggle phase would definitely reduce the number of facecampers. That was a major issue I faced as a solo was single hook deaths.

We need to think between the lines.

Scenario with pallet isnt something i should avoid, i have to be able destroy the pallet by any time

There's no pallet in your picture. In fact you're standing where it should be. And you're not using your power at the moment which means you can destroy it at any time because you hadn't pigeonholed yourself by again, putting yourself in that situation.

  • That doesn't excuse the lack of structure that leads to a match being #########.

A laissez-faire space spider shouldn't be simply handing out bad report cards for playing like a #########.

  • Your scenario puts you directly into a scenario in which you lose because your situation put yourself in that situation.

If I absolutely had to hit the survivor running towards the window with my power, I'd bump into any adjacent wall inside that room, then beeline towards the vault. That's assuming I was in a position to hit them with my power and not, y'know, just hit them with a regular attack.

    Tl;dr: You're doing it wrong.

  • It's still the PS4 version so better graphics options wouldn't make sense if it didn't use it.

  • "Oh you seem to be off your hook. Let me fix that."

  • Should've just had crossplay with DBD mobile. Switch is a mobile system.

Well more people want nerfs than actual healthy game improvements, while it does suck you need a better console for the game to run smoother im just glad it actually does or i would have just stopped playing. but if you ever do get a new console rest assured it runs smoother. (this doesnt included latency with bad connection or people way across the world, pretty sure crossplay makes latency worse from my experience anyway. or i could just be unlikely and get some dodgy af connection players)

Wouldn't it be healthier for the game to knock out these performance issues? I mean the game breaks every patch.

Besides even if they do remove Bloodlust, it can be rerouted to other ancillary systems. You lose tons of ground if you vault anything. If they increase vault speed for killers across the board, you'd definitely see some improvements.

not on new consoles it doesnt, i have the S and its actually running really smooth. NGL it felt so weird moving at a decent amount of frames for a change haha.

As for you second comment and this applies to everyone hating on this post or dont agree with it all this is going to do is make my survivor strong as i hardly get bloodlust as killer but my issue is new killers or less experienced players will struggle more and be impacted more which okay fine might mean killer ranks mean more but then youll have a really good killer at rank 1 against survivors that hardly do gens, miss skillchecks or cant even lead on a chase. i want balance not punish new killers rewards bad survivors etc.

The problem fixes itself if I spend $500. Ok.

  • Kinda takes the flexibility outta Mori's. Then there's still killers and perks that let you mori too.

Is Mikey gonna have to wrangle survivors into killzones before he KO's them?

Is Devour Hope now going to not only require you to get 5 tokens before your totem explodes, but require you to position them in the killzone as well?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I am just not going to play killer this weekend, playing killer is already frustrating and miserable experience without more things making it worse.

I come back after several months to this game, and the first thing I see when I get back is this kinda crap. It's depressing, makes me feel like they will never actually work on any real problems with the game =/

Bloodlust activating loses frames. It IS a problem and affects the game's stability.

Besides that, you lose Bloodlust after injuring someone, smashing a pallet, or lose sight of them. All factors that instantly turn it back off after you get it. It's overblown.

  • @Hoodied said:

Or people are just gonna play the high mobility killers more?

Really all this test is gonna show is that around 50% of the killer roster needs Bloodlust to assist in the chase to give them a chance (i.e Trapper, Pig, Oni, Legion, Plague, Demogorgon, in a manner Michael, Ghostface, etc) while the other 50% can carry themselves (I.E Nurse, Billy, Blight, etc)

Then all the more reason to carry out the test rather than allowing anecdotes to carry the narritive.

Sorry, I thought you were capable as survivor. My mistake.

No, I don't play SWF but then again there's not much I can do when the Bubba is facecamping again because there's nothing anyone can realistically do.

But chainsaw = weak so how am i to argue with that?

  • Why can't the survivors go slower instead of the killer going faster? I mean they're both running around but the survivor is still human.

  • @Yamaoka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1760644#Comment_1760644

Honestly think what you want. Every decent player manages to loop Bubba for a while. If you can't do it it's a YOU problem. End of the story.

Sorry, I thought you were capable as a killer. My mistake.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1759663#Comment_1759663

Ah yes - because "he can down people easily" is a much more useful statement than mine.

It's quite simply the bitter reality that no good survivor complains about Bubba as he can not ignore mechanics as opposed to stronger killers like Nurse, Spirit, Pyramid Head etc.

He can be looped, he has no map pressure, no stealth, no gen defense, no tracking etc.

He literally has nothing in his kit except for the chainsaw and whiny no skill survivors would even take that from him if they could.

No, you don't get to complain about a loopable killer that can only instadown you when you mess up. Simple as.

Most of those issues can be fixed with perks. So it really comes down to what their ability can do.

Bubba can with little investment instantly down someone on demand at any time. The "punishment" from missed attacks are negligible at most and easily avoidable now that you can manually extend the duration of his attack. Then there's the manner of how he can easily prevent all manner of rescue for his tagged victims who he can now just hit with his M1.

    Keep being the victim killer.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1759617#Comment_1759617

All killers can put you in the dying state easily when you're bad as survivor.

Thank you for this completely useless quote. Am i supposed to glean something from this? Good survivors don't ever go down and will never lose so nothing you do matters. Just drop the controls on the floor and play with your feet. That's how little a mechanic that skips a step fares against the almighty survivor.

  • Why not make the last hit an instant down? I mean that's what you're going for with this change.

Also don't mind the string of injured people. They can heal pretty quickly. What matters is getting an instant down after spamming my power.

  • He can pretty easily put you in the dying state, and doesn't need to move away from the hook. All in all a lame killer.

  • I thought it was evenly split. There's killer challenges, survivor challenges, then generic ones you can do for either side.

  • A Freddy on Dead Dawg gave me it. Other than that, load up on Exit Gate speed perks and have Poised equipped then clutch it that way I guess.

  • Did the 'use up 3' one yesterday. Brought one in, then found another in a chest. Easy.

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

I know it's a meme - but Freddy's lunge is *the same distance* as every other killers M1 attack.

  • It was obviously a rush job. Adam and Clown were meant to be in this Tome.

  • Sturgeons Law.

And while we're on the topic: writing? Define what you mean. Character dialogue or how scenes and the plot flows?

  • I always seem to go slower around blatant swf players. Unreported exploit maybe.

Spies from the Shadows is more of a Beginner-Perk IMO. Basically, if you are new to the game you wont have many Perks, and Spies is the easiest to use Detection Perk.

If you get more experienced, you pay attention to Crows on your own. Also it gets outclassed by Whispers (which is the best Tracking Perk in the game), so once you get used to Whispers, you wont use Spies from the Shadows ever again.

Whispers has one major achilles heel. If you found one survivor, it only indicates a survivor is nearby. Not how many survivors are nearby.

If I had Spies on after hooking someone and a notification goes off, I know someone is definitely nearby.

And in response to just looking for birds on your own, you can miss the animation for them flying away very easily. Spies flat out tells you "Look over here" and works through walls.

  • Just switch to CQC Huntress when in an indoor map. You can plug anyone who dares throw down a pallet on any map regardless.

Nurse excels at indoor maps. Less los, but they're forced into close quarters more often.

All I can think of who'd have a hard time is poor Billy with his long wind-up around all the tight corners. Though he still has his mobility.

  • Spies from the Shadows proc'd near locker. Hacking.

Feral Frenzy found someone in a closet. Hacking. Also pea brained accused someone of the same. Thought it blocked all auras at the time.

Iron Maiden. Was accused of using op meta perks.

    Played Freddy. Hacking.

    Got Myers to EW3, hacking.

  • I think one issue it has is even if you Prestige a character, it has no bearing on anything else in the game. Your player level doesn't get a boost. You don't get any other accolades or xp bonuses. Just a few cosmetic pieces.

While that alone may be all you wanted, in every other game I've played, it usually has a few extra perks to make it feel worthwhile for all the carrot and stick you've done. Warframe just throws things at you for each master rank. Payday 2 has loads of cosmetics and bonuses.

If they followed that model, I mean, one game perk off the top of my head is permanently increased bloodpoint reserves. That's something useable and often requested. Maybe an extra 10% discount on cosmetics for P3'ing a character? Extra daily challenges?

  • There is a major issue and it's that some levels are completely devoid of crows.

Other than that, yeah they just set off crows by existing. Leri's is just one big line of notifications.

Had someone accuse me of hacking for using it.

  • Clown just needs more consistent reloading mechanics, and for his gas to either build up negative effects or interrupt actions, or both.

Reloading bottles is one of his bigger hurdles. Having a quick reload instead of having to do the full animation every time would be great.

And action interruption would be a huge boon for gen protection. I can't count the number of times someone did a gen in my face because they knew I couldn't do anything.

Aside from that his gas affects need a look at. His most heinous add-ons are an instant down you can spam in close quarters and inflict hindered, both with no real windup for how powerful they can be.

And at other times it's incredibly weak and barely has any lasting power. So they need a middle ground between the two.

Edit: oh and tracking inside the gas. Yeah you can mess them up, but it works both ways. Can't see ######### captain.

because behaviour is a small 2016 indie company funded by little publishers and they need money being donated to them by kind-hearted players so they can maintain the servers.

jokes aside if u buy a killer skin you wasted your money.

I can't see hats on my head so I guess I shouldn't wear hats anymore.

  • How about there be a hard limit in place for how long you're on the hook?

Like getting saved then getting rehooked doesn't skip phases. Just hits you with a unskippable status effect or something.

  • Snarky reply.

    Dismissive hand wave.

Good job missing my point entirely. Adopting a different method of approach to the same objectives, the same fundamentals, the same literally everything, is not a different game mode. At all.

Someone already pointed out that CoD is just different variations of shoot #########. You're the one being obtuse.

What would be the objective in this different game mode? 2v8? That would be a shitshow.

Protect the president? The game can barely keep you from tunneling one person to death if you really wanted to.

Imposter? One survivor is secretly working with the killer? That's just pub games.

1v8 like F13th? That game certainly isn't dead now. And suffered the same gameplay loop of one person chaining together hidey holes while everyone else escapes.

  • @Demogordon_Ramsay said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1750696#Comment_1750696

    No?

No game is like that. If you want a different game mode in Overwatch, you switch from Quick Play to Deathmatch. You don't switch from Tracer to Mercy. If you want a different game mode in League of Legends, you switch from Summoner's Rift to ARAM. You don't switch from Teemo to Ahri. If you want a different game mode in CS:GO, you switch from Gun Game to Competitive. You don't switch from using an AWP to using an M4.

Playing different Killers is not the equivalent to playing a different game mode entirely. It's still the exact same game mode, with the exact same maps, with the exact same objectives, with the exact same rules, with the exact same fundamentals. Changing up your abilities and the way you play does very little to make it feel like a "new game mode".

You really changed my perspective by naming several games that aren't even the same genre. Bravo.

Are you next going to tell me how Trapper needs to run a Dwight over the field goal to score a touchdown?

Oh how about Nea reaching the other side of the level and you need to king her.

Claudette passed go, she'll be gettin that $200 now.

Edit: Sorry to be so snide but they really didn't support your argument.

I recognize there should be different win conditions and variables in the game other than do gen and live Agni, but killer variety is supposed to do just that when not even survivors are specialized.

They could at least give killers more unique passives if what I stated actually is the direction they want to go.

  • Seen his mural, memories and junk, then got jumped by Legion. Their negative feelings and emotions summoned the entity and it sucked them in or something.

Then his dog back home pulled a Semour.

  • The killers themselves are supposed to act as different game modes. Switching up tactics and such.

  • Jack would be kinda plain. He's just a normal dude with an axe with a drinking problem.

  • PS5 was having issues with Freddy being locked recently. Maybe they're trying to backend fix things.

    What's your platform?

  • ON. Faster games, and it'll have wonkey glitches either way.
