Losing bps should only apply if there are no survivors close bySo, I interrupt two people working on a gen. Hook one, and see the other briefly. Now (without aura perks) I would guess the other survivor hasn't gone far. But because I don't know, I have to run off in a random direction unless I'm ok with losing BP? It just doesn't make sense.
Edit: Same applies to pips really. Why do I have to deliberately play worse? I'm already ######### at this game.

I hate playing against campers as much as anyone else, but this isn't the solution.
-
Nothing for Spirit, Piggy (yeah, licensed, I know) Meg or Feng? Don't you want my money???
Edit: And why does Doc have the coolest set of skins in this game? He's the darling of the art department, apparently. Or a real fashionista.

THAT BLACK STUFF IS HER HAIR???? Lol, I always thought that it was part of the pig mask.Lol. You're right - the masks had hair on them in the film.
But I suppose the devs aren't exactly wrong either, Amanda had hair under the mask of course. It just... well... didn't look anything like that. I mean, who's does!?! You'd sack your hairdresser if you ended up with that hideous barnet.
-
Hmm. Amanda had some pretty dodgy haircuts in the films... but she looks like some kind of Chinese knock-off Barbie doll here.

I think you misunderstood the concept. Usually the victims would be scared of the slasher, but in Dbd it's the other way around and the killet is actually the pressured oneThat would make a great film... sort of. Poor Anna is orphaned as a young girl, forced to survive alone in the woods. Then one day, the famous Motown quartet, The Claudettes break down nearby and take refuge in Anna's house. Unwilling to put aside their prejudices, the evil Clauds hunt our bunny-faced hero and torture her with flashlights.
-
It's not a horror game, no. It's a horror-themed game, which doesn't have the depth or mechanics (lack of variety in gameplay, for example*) to actually scare you past the first couple of matches.
*And this is fine - it's a somewhat casual arcade game, and we like it that way.

@brokedownpalace said:
It's not scary at all. It would like stupid, IMO.You're scared of the pig mask? Hahahah.

I vote yes for Amanda alternate skin. Piggy is not a monster, she's a wonderful slightly psychotic human being and the mask is just one small part of her character.
-
Used to play only Huntress on PC. Stopped playing the game for a bit, and came back on PS4.
Stuck with Huntress for a while, but then got the Saw DLC and found out how much more fun Piggy is to play. Then they killed the hatchet throws so I spent my killer time playing Amanda and Rin. Even though Huntress is back to normal, I still think Amanda is more fun to play. And Rin even more so.
I may go back to Bunny at some point. I miss her. I enjoyed listening to the lullaby and I found that I play much nicer... as Piggy, I can be a real #########.

-
It's too true.
Hit the "Play As Killer" button and BHVR's matchmaking me will find me an all-star SWF team, with coordination and planning skills that would make the SAS jealous. They'll be better equipped than Bond, and traverse the map with the grace of the Russian state ballet.
Hit "Play As Survivor", and the matchmaking algorithm trawls for three cretins.
Edit: Of which, at least two will be Jake Park.

Or the alternative; an accompanying pair of flip-flops that give reduced running speed with a chance to fall over because you lost one mid chase.And yet, Rin gets a movement increase from wearing zori (basically flip-flops). Go figure.
I'm guessing the developers have never actually tried to move quickly in the type of sandal they drew on the add-on icon.

@Tsulan said:
But that's just my guess.You mean, all the things the rest of us are supposed to find "fun"?

-
Ah... the 4% rule. Lol.
I do think it's generally a bit ######### to tunnel the guy who got lucky enough to escape from the hook. I'll usually try and let them get a safe distance away before they go back on my hit list.
However, I'd say that more often than not, it seems like it's the flashlighting, bodyblocking, teabagging Claudette who gets the 4% and then moans that you don't let her escape.
If you escaped the hook recently, with a beartrap on your head, last man standing, but got a Piggy laugh at you and then cut you down as your reward... then you should've been a nicer player earlier in the game!

@Eveline said:
Maybe you are right because I didn't play killer that much. Got to rank 8 when I stopped. I want to do it just so I can say that I am but I would waste time doing something I don't like.Why don't you like it?

altruism
[ˈaltruːɪz(ə)m]
disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others.Translation to DbD: "If you don't let me heal you (even if I'm going to fail all the skill checks) then I'll cry and cry and cry. Your survival is less important than my bloodpoints."
-
Ahahahah. No, not seen that before. You legit made my day with that - loved it!

That's why Herman is the better torturer. He will break our impure bodies and grant us access to a higher plane of existence. Not to mention that he boldly asserts his power and dominance.And yet, despite all the cool costumes and special effects, we're still happy to run around the lumbering oaf. We ignore the irritation of having our actions interrupted by a scream, and laugh as he swings that Fisher-Price baseball bat wildly at the air.
But one woman in a pig mask... Noone takes lightly.

You switched from PC to PS4 because of post game chat that you were not forced to read but obviously did so anyway? Interesting.I said "one of the main reasons". Obviously, it wasn't the only reason, that'd be dumb. "I want to play the game with worse controls and a dodgy framerate, to stop the nasty people being mean to me."
-
@Peasant said:
Yeah, sure. Amanda's just a sweet little thing, with more Daddy issues than Evan Macmillan.Lol.
Hey, she had a hard life. Ok, so maybe a couple of the screws came a little loose somewhere along the line, but no one's perfect.
-
@Peasant said:
You've got to be kidding me. Amanda's annoying enough, now I have to worry about Zombie Jigsaw?!That's going on the DbD Wishlist!!! Brilliant idea.
And Amanda is a little sweetheart really.

@Peasant said:
It helps that he's still kicking too.Oh, I don't know about that part. How many films has Kramer managed to get in now? 8? Not bad for a guy who died in the third one!?!

@Peasant said:
Still hate the RBT mechanic.Hahahaha.

@Peasant said:
I can't stand Pigs.Well, that's it then. I declare war.

Hopefully all my piggy brethren will heed the call! We shall drive the Jakes out of this game... one RBT at a time, if that's how it has be done.

@Peasant said:
I will have you know that I am a master of safe hook saves.I'm fine with it appearing as a special perk at P3 L50 Jake (or as a special bonus for players called Peasant).

-
The lack of post-game chat is one of the main reasons I switched from PC to PS4 (PSN profile is private).
I'm out if I'm forced to read messages from, or talk to, the vile, immature, ignorant shits who seem to make up the majority of DbD's player base.

@Eveline said:
Make lobby hidden and punish dc with immediate de-ranking similar to that that happens monthly or put a timer or some kind of penalty. That includes survivors to.Play more killer, then report back.
-
No, no, no, no, no.
Jakes cannot be trusted to perform a simple save. I don't want to be minding my own business on the hook while one of these fools is trying to save and sabotage at the same time. You have 4% chance of unhooking yourself. You've got a 2% chance of a safe hook rescue from a Jake.
I have the scientific evidence to prove this.
-
Agreed. Thank you, devs.
It was a good decision on their part. Bunny is back in action!

every killer wrecks people until they git gud. name one that doesntI don't think I saw a group play half-decent against Freddy until L12 on PS4. Normally, he just wiped everyone out in minutes. Never saw any other killer flatten newbs so consistently.
But I agree something needs to be done to help him against the more experienced players.
-
ARRRRGGHHHHH
I had almost let go of this Jake hatred. Even stopped torturing them unnecessarily with Amanda.
Working a gen with a Jake last night, Billy arrives to spoil the bonding session. Jake runs, I urban loop the gen and get back to work. Five seconds later Jake and Billy are back and the nobhead Jake brings him right over to the gen (which, in its position, would serve no purpose to help him escape other than to tempt the killer into attacking me instead)!
Well FU Jake!. I escaped my hook, and a few minutes later I go to rescue someone off a hook... I'm sure you can guess what happened next.

Serves you right you goddamn liability. Pig mask back on, you're all going to suffer again!
-
I have a video somewhere, but not sure where. Game starts and I see someone running across the map... "Hey Dwight, what you up to!?!" So I chased after him... it was Billy.

If the obsession is doing nothing but hide all game that's the one of the best outcomes of using this perk.I think the best outcome is when they hide all game then, in a moment of stupidity, decide to try and open the exit gate themselves.
I almost felt sorry for the Meg that did this last night. Almost. Then I killed her anyways.

I’ve still got a vendetta against wall licking Claudettes and hook farming Claudettes. Whether I’m a killer or a survivor it seems like she screws me over one way or the other.Hahahah. "wall licking Claudettes" cracked me up!

Hahaha. Because you made me laugh, tonight I am going to play nice with the first Jake I see, in your honor!

@Peasant said:
You know, I have always thought that running Saboteur was too much of a liability and a pointless excursion that won't let me rank up.Oh, I have no problem with that. Sure, it's irritating at times, but its a legit ability you've got there.
My grudge is because, while playing Meg, three games in a row a Jake pulled me off the hook right in front of the killer and cost me my life.
This was before the hook invulnerability came in. -
@Peasant said:
There's just something about snapping a trap on and then completely ignoring me that angers me to my core.Good news, friend. If you're playing a Jake, I'm not only slapping that trap on your head, I'm also going to slug you every time I run near. Definitely won't be ignoring you.

(Still got a grudge against Jakes from about two weeks ago).

You cant troll an afk killer? Tell that the survivors that tbagg in front of me for ages, yes even aftre 30 mins when I come back they still tbagg in front of me.Agreed.
Make escape points etc. reduce for every couple of seconds you spend in the game after a door is open? Want to play games / grief me, fine, but it'll cost you BP.

@Peasant said:
there will be times where a Doctor tunnels me and my conscious thinks ", Come on man, I am a Doctor main too."Ahaha. Never seen anyone else say that, but I get the same thoughts when facing Amanda. "I'm a Pig too, #########. Cut me a little slack here."
Should be able to unlock a cosmetic on killers' bloodwebs which lets a survivor show their allegiance/respect. Like at P3 L50 Piggy, you get a robe to wear on your Meggy.

irl i don't think you'd go to save a random stranger by putting yourself in death's wayIRL I'd be pulling on their damn feet if it'd make them die on the hook faster.

-
Er... Wasn't the reason for the "rework" partly because Freddy is too tough for newb survivors, and too weak against the reds?
These suggestions will make him impossible to play against until people git gud.
-
God, this forum really likes to make up unofficial game rules.
I'm not obligated to try and save you. If I decide a) I can't be bothered, or b) it's too dangerous, then just hurry up and die, please.

And usually, in your situation, I'll kill myself on the hook if I judge that it gives the last remaining survivor a better shot at escaping.
-
Don't see the problem personally.
I run it on Meg, and you still have to escape the chase and find somewhere safe before you can use it. Too often I find other survivors don't heal each other, run the length of the map after unhooking me, or plain ol' f*ck up the skill check.
I'll usually let others heal me if they do show up... but that tends to bite me on the arse quite often. Only last night, a Dwight missed the skill check and then, in a panic, pulled the pallet down next to us. Killer was there in seconds.
The group's Claudette... was hiding in a bush in somewhere.
And when playing killer, it really doesn't bother me. Sometimes it's a blessing, Nurses Calling is occasionally the only way I find people quickly.
-
Rule 1: Kill the Jake.
Rule 2: Kill the other Jake.
Rule 3: Reward the funny survivors.I don't camp, except in extremely special circumstances, and try to avoid tunneling... but if I happen to see you next, then I'm not just letting you go for the sake of it.
Everything else is subject to change. If you're the last survivor, the gates are open, and you get your 4% hook escape then I'll probably let you go. But that's not a rule.
If you get 2 early d/cs then I'll be thinking of giving a hatch escape etc. but you still have to earn it. i.e. Not be irritating (and not Jake).
I'm here to have fun, so if you can do something funny/unexpected that gets my attention, then I'll be trying to find some way to have fun with you and will frequently do things like dropping people at the exit or hatch.

@MegMain98 said:
Players always tend to tunnel the RBT victims and I never understand why.Because it's fun.
(Edit: And we know where you're going to be.)I don't hook someone while they're trying to get an RBT off, but if I'm feeling mean (looking at you Jake, or someone who's been trying to blind me all game) then, while chasing/looking for others, I'll sometimes run past a jigsaw box and slug the guy.
Anyway, back to the original question.
I think I like playing against The Nurse most. Makes for exciting chases. Tempted to say Myers, but I find that a lot of Shape players on PS4 tend to camp too much with him. Which is "fine", I guess, but makes for boring games.
Hate playing against Freddy, Billy, and Leatherface. Of those three, would probably avoid Freddy most, if that was an option. Get a bad group and his sleep mechanic is a right ol' pain.
-
It's fine. Play as a killer with that perk a bit more and you'll see.
It's a fun one to run - not so powerful as to make it a "must", but powerful enough to justify a spot in the loadout. The obsession can still escape, Rancor is not an automatic kill (even assuming the obsession is still alive when all the generators are powered). And I've been up against smarter groups this weekend where on the way to the gates, the other survivors have even protected the obsession, just in case.
-
Can we Huntress players not have one moment of fun, in one match!?! Why you hate us so much?
Particularly on console, there are a lot of tears behind that bunny mask.
(At least you tried to come up with something "fair", which I appreciate. Even if I disagree that there's any problem here needing solving).
