i just came here to look if there was any update on this yet as I’ve not heard anything yet and still don’t have my characters
-
I don't think crossplay would be bad in a game like this. The biggest advantage I think PC players would have is the frame rates for killers like nurse. However, I don't see how it would fix lobby times. If survivors on PC are waiting 10 minutes for a match, survivors on ps4 are waiting 10 minutes for a match, and survivors on xbox are waiting 10 minutes for a match, how is combining everyone going to shorten that wait?
-
The real issue here seems to be that someone is forcing you to read stuff that you find annoying. If you deal with that, then you won't need to make posts telling others what they should or should not post/comment.
-
If only there was a way to make noed a non issue
-
hopefully they regained sanity and are reworking the sabo change before release.
-
I have nothing against anyone at bhvr but I also don't just take anyones word on a subject. Yes, they know more than I do i'm sure. But I am rank 1 killer. When I play killer I get all red rank survivors and find games instantly. Seems to be working well. I am rank 1 survivor. When I play survivor I get killers anywhere from rank 1 to rank 15 after a 10 minute wait.
So I can either believe that match making is just messed up currently or I can draw my own conclusion that pipping as survivor is wayyyy too easy and there are more red rank survivors and not enough killers to fill all the matches so they end up putting any killer in against red ranks just so they get a match.
It seems much more likely to me that my conclusion is correct.
-
It is so incredibly easy to pip as survivor so who cares? Even if you get a dozen of these games in a row you can get back to rank 1 in no time.
-
Hands down it's the maps. Map size is an issue. Most killers are going to struggle on large maps. Then if you play a killer that does well on large maps like billy, you take the chance of getting lerys or other maps that basically screw him.
-
I have to disagree. He is just as high a skill cap as huntress but with less reward. I can not fathom why I would choose to play him over huntress. Same movement speed but twice as long to down people and pallets screw you.

OoO isn't an easy perk to casually use. It's going to lead to more deaths than anything else.
Exactly
-
I don't think this is an issue. object is horrible because the 1 percent of players you encounter using it are usually really damn good. Have you ever gone against someone using it who is not good at looping? It's laughable really. Most survivors are not that good which is the only reason we can win games as clown etc. So if more people start using object it is going to be gg ez
-
It's horrible and everyone knows it. The worst part is unless the survivor is horribly out of position even finding them elsewhere, they have time to make it to the pantry once they get the speed burst from hitting them so "just don't chase them there" isn't really an option against decent survivors.
-
They just need to shrink a lot of maps. That's all that is needed. when you load into mothers playing as the clown it doesn't matter if people have toolboxe or not. You just can't get to the gens to get people off them.

yeah I got thana in the shrine not too long ago but I really need Nurses lol. I don't really like Nurse tbh
Nurse and doctor are the only killers I do not play. I can't stand doctor and I just don't want to put the time in to learn nurse. Don't feel like getting my butt kicked for 100 games lol. But I do like her perks. Even stridor, you only see it on spirit usually but I think it's a great perk on a lot of killers.

LOL idk why I thought Huntress but I meant to say Nurse! lol but ok I will try it out.
Let us know how it works out. Hag has been my main since I started playing. Still love her to this day. I definitely recommend grinding bps to level up nurse. I love all 3 of her perks, thana, nurses, and stridor.

Unfortunately I don't have Nurses rn. You think Thana would be good until I grind up Huntress or go for something else?
Nurses is a nurse perk, I don't think huntress has any perks worth grinding her for lol. Thana can be ok with sloppy imo.
-
I have basically run the same build on hag for 2 years now. I have swapped ruin for corrupt when ruin got nerfed. But I just do Corrupt, Sloppy, Nurses, and M&A. with dried cicada or dragonfly and a rope necklette

Huntress is probably hurt most from OoO since the survivor will always tell when your aiming at them and her smaller than normal TR allows OoO to work at closer ranges. OoO is a hard counter to Huntress.
Try telling that to Trapper against a swf with a person running object.
-
A rough calculation off the top of my head is about maybe 10 to 15 percent of the player base of survivors are actually really good. A survivor who is not very good running object is toast. So everyone running object would simply be gg ez for killers.

Fortunately the devs look at the whole picture including internal statistics and don't rely on a handful of loud people on the forums who have been predicting the death of DBD and a mass exodus of killers for years now. The same people complaining about how broken and survivor sided this game is are the same people who continue to play the game and buy new dlc even though supposedly they are having an absolutely miserable experience.
I agree to a point. But if you can't see that many killers have quit already then I don't think you're paying attention. When I play rank 1 killer I get games instantly and they are against red rank survivors. When I play rank 1 survivor I get games in about 10 minutes and they are against anything from red to yellow rank killers. People can talk about match making being messed up all they want but I don't see any other way to look at it other than there are just not enough killers to go around.

It seems you are the only one crying op on this entire thread.

Am I the only one that feels the devs are scared to make strong perks now? I think the Mettle of Man debacle has caused future perks to be too weak. Many new perks have long cooldowns, multiple conditions to activate, etc. They're just too niche to have real power.
I'm not excited for Chapter 15 for this reason, and the same could be said about the Oni and Stranger Things DLCs as well. There seems to be 1 decent perk in the bunch and then the rest are straight-up filler to clog my bloodwebs.
I just find the new content underwhelming. Anyone agree with me?
I think it is less to do with fear and more so to do with all the garbage killers in the game. A strong perk makes bad killers better. It makes the 4 or 5 good killers unstoppable.
-
Imagine pretending you go against enough iri head huntress that it's a problem.
-
I don't think aiming will be too tough on console. The fact that he is 110 movement speed with a crap power though will keep me from playing him.
-
You really want us to believe you were the only survivor not running DS?
-
Killers and survivors each get 4 perks. killers have an ability and survivors have 1519515 safe pallets. It evens out.
-
I had a legacy billy the other night with that globe icon. He sort of sucked. Why hack just to play crossplay?
-
When I play killer at rank 1, I get red rank survivors. When I play survivor at rank 1 I get red, purple, green, yellow rank killers. That, coupled with instant que times for killer and 10 minutes for survivor leads me to believe it is not a match making issue but an issue that there are not enough killers to go around. I could be wrong though.
-
I'm not really scared of it. I honestly believe they are just going to remove ranks and say it is mmr and working as intended.
-
The hatch is what needs fixed. Not the slug for 4k
-
I honestly hate noed. I think it is cheap. But with each passing day I get closer to using it. At least one game a night I get a group of survivors who focus solely on gens and when you play certain killers or get certain maps you can't do anything about stopping a 4 minute game. People will ignorantly say "pressure gens" but many of us know how it goes. Normal groups who do totems when they see them etc are not an issue. But when it's the main goal to end a game as quickly as possible by all 4 survivors you may as well just stand still the entire match.
-
I'm holding out hope that this sabo change does not go live. And as a killer I honestly love head on. It is so obvious and easy to counter. They may get me once but that's it.
-
I would have to say the ruin change. When you get 4 survivors focused on gens it is just a flat out joke anymore. And miss me with the "pressure gens"
-
Hopefully this shines a light on the issue with this and it is changed before going live
-
I honestly don't understand the change. Make it so hooks can't be 99 but also make it so all hooks are saboed almost as quickly as if they were 99. like, what was the point?

Spirit is not great, it's broken. There's a difference.
Oni is a good killer, and well used he's great.
I disagree. I think spirit is great. She is different. Her mind games, her power, it is not like any other killer that was out. Oni power and now deathslinger power are not original at all and are just worse versions of powers that are already in the game.
-
There has not been a great killer since spirit.
-
After reading the update the other day I was excited for this change. After playing the PTB...this does not favor killers at all.
-
I mean, I still stand by that. I don't see a reason to play oni over billy. And I don't see a reason why I will ever play deathslinger over huntress.
-
If your game is crashing that often then it's on your system and or internet. The penalty was needed and has already helped a lot with all the petulant children.
-
Too EZ

It's funny how all the regular DCers are up in arms about being held accountable now and come up with every fantastical story of something that happened to them( which 99% it's made up) to try and prove why it should be removed
Its you're upset over 5 whole minutes there is no help for you
But please, continue with your stories of how you faced Iridescent hatchet huntress 15 times in a row and they all slugged which validated your DCs
Hilarious
If I had the game breaking bugs that some of these people are claiming they deal with so regularly I would have quit playing long, long ago. I guess i'm just lucky.

You are absolutely right! Neither of us should be punished for actually kicking the others ass lol
agreed. I just honestly can't think of a better scoring system lol
-
It goes both ways. Why as a killer do i get punished if survivors are grouped up and I down all 4 and 1 hook everyone? I don't like the scoring system but I honestly don't have an answer on how to improve it. I'm sure the team at bhvr would have no issue listening to ideas on improvement.

I have a question for those in favor of disconnect penalties.
What about killing yourself on the hook? By which I mean, getting hooked, attempting escape 3 times to get yourself to the struggle stage, and not struggling, resulting in your immediate demise. You can do that almost as easily as disconnecting as long as the killer actually hooks you, and you get the same, if not a BETTER result than disconnecting, that being getting out of the game prematurely with absolutely no downside, along with a tiny bit of bloodpoints too. Should you not also care about this completely legitimate method to achieve the same goal as disconnecting?
I've seen so many people up in arms over this dcing stuff, yet I have yet to see anyone address killing yourself on hook, when it's basically the same thing but without the downsides. Maybe I've just been looking in the wrong place?
I didn't really find a question in this post. But it's like this basically...the DC's don't normally happen at the start of the match. Yes there are survivors and killers who don't want to play a certain map or a survivor that doesn't want to play against a certain killer etc. There is nothing stopping them from eating it on first hook. What it is stopping though is the people quitting because the game isn't going their way. DCing when they are downed the 3rd time, when they are slugged for the 4k etc.
-
@ClickyClicky said:
Probably the dedicated servers. Sometimes it kicks you but it shows others as disconnecting.
Oh well you obviously deserved your 5 minute time out. That's what I've learned from reading the forums.
You are grasping so hard on each one of these posts lmao.
-
I started as a killer main. Have been playing much more survivor over the last several months. Now i'm back to enjoying killer more. I can't really explain it but i'm having more fun with killer than I have in a while.

If you don't recover after a short period in the dying state you should die unless your recover bar is full. 4 Minutes slugged to wait out a stalemate and or be the recipient of bm is dumb
It is too long I agree. What I don't understand is this...the times I do slug for the 4k, the slugged person will try to crawl to the corner of the map, or the basement, or some other place in hopes I will not find them. If it is so horrible to bleed out for 4 minutes why do so many try to make it that they don't get found and hooked?

Yeah seriously. I really think they're not playing the same game as the rest of us.
They are upset that they are potentially losing some power in the game. I don't care what anyone says, the main reason survivors DCed is because it was a way to stick it to the killer because the game was not going how they wanted it to. I've been playing the game for 2 years and have not once had a bug that did not allow the game to finish if I did not DC ever since the EGC has been introduced. I have been stuck in gens, got the basement hook bug, invisible pallet bug, no skill checks bug etc. I never DCed in any of the instances.
It is similar to me and the ruin nerf. I made up so many hypotheticals because I was pissed off about the change. I was overreacting and have admitted that and I still play the game unlike what I said many times. It will die down.
