I agree. A lot about the game has been bugging me lately. It runs like crap even though my PC is well beyond what the game needs, even on lowest settings I can get stutter at times. Theres bugs, bugs and more bugs, all the sound issues make the game frustrating.
Then they nerf a viable killer just because survivors cried but with no compensation.
The reason it bugs me so much is how it was done. We all knew what they put out on the ptb wouldnt be the final product, we all knew he was getting nerfed harder....so why both with putting that version on the ptb in the first place?
Secondly its the spineless attitude they have. “Its not intended as a nerf”, umm everyone and their mothers can see its fully intended as a nerf. Why not just grow a backbone and say “yeah we’re nerfing him”. You say to address feedback from both sides but cleary this was all about survivors complaints.
No serum this year either. They aren’t even pretending to be in this for the love anymore its all about the money. People say they were worse under Starbreeze but remember under Starbreeze they even had free dlc and were much less predatory when it comes to taking your money than they are now.
Basically a cash grab company with no respect for the fans trying to milk a game for every penny they can before its dried up. Along with a development team who have such little respect for the players they can’t ever be honest or truthful with them.
I’m out too.
-
Putting out a ptb and pretending you want/care about feedback when you already know what you’re gonna do
-
-
In case you haven’t noticed the game is becoming exponentially more expensive while only increasing in quality slightly.
-
Yeah it was shadownerfed in one of the hotfixes.
I’m 100% serious and I don’t care what damage control the developers come out with. That first week it was a 50\50 between Ruin and Undying.
A lot of people complain, along comes a hotfix and low and behind Undying goes first 99% of the time.
It happened so much that after a 4 day period where Ruin when first in only 2 games I stopped using the combo altogether. It is definitely not random chance. You dont flip a coin 100 times and get Heads 98 times. Thats basically what’s happening here.
-
Actually they have much more time to avoid hits now.
I agree he looks clunky though. Many killers do. Compare that to how responsive survivors feel. I get they want to balance things but there comes a point where its just not fun anymore, Nurse being a good example.
For the most part hes been made unfun to play as and severely hurt on loops. Exactly what survivors wanted. Now I guess the few PH’s out there that didnt feel the need to tunnel will be compelled to do so like they are with all weak killers.
-
“The entire point of a PTB existing is to iron out bugs and get some feedback before they commit to a change”
lol no its not. Not for dbd anyway.
They already know what changes they’re making in advance and outside of something extremely broken they arent going to listen to feedback.
-
Kind of hilarious, for most survivors breathing is non-existent now and injured sounds are getting harder and harder to notice, for the killers the developers go the other way.
-
Lol the reason they said they didnt want to make him stronger or weaker was just damage control because they knew there would be an uproar amongst a minority.
Notice how they say its to address complaints but 99% of complaints were survivors.
He looks so stupid now. At least on otb he carried on moving at 4.4m/s which was his normal speed, now hes walking and just....kinda stops for a second. It looks stupid and clunky and it is but hey survivors got what they wanted so it doesnt matter.
Irony is the weaker a killer is the more dirty you have to play. Im taking a break from the game after this and unsure if I will continue to play PH but if I do you can be damn sure im gonna be feeling more pressure to hard tunnel now. Good job survivors

They've made it pretty clear they don't want PH's entire playstyle to be "get a gauranteed low effort hit at every loop". The PTB slowdown on pulling out the sword was so minimal that it didnt affect it at all. It makes sense to slow him further.
And he's now actually rewarded more for getting hits with the shorter cooldown. That said I haven't played him myself yet (gonna try tomorrow) but the general consensus seems to be that this was a buff overall. At least for PHs that didnt rely on the free "50/50 but not really" hits.
Personally I'd like him to reach a point where using the projectile outside of free hits was actually viable to shake things up and make him less braindead.. I'm hoping that may be the case.
"get a gauranteed low effort hit at every loop"
Yeah, the current playstyle of "get a gauranteed low effort escape at every loop" is so much better for the game. Ez baby killers.
-
He looks trash. The speed slowdown is extremely noticeable but the decreased cooldown is barely noticeable. Just another cumbersome, unresponsive feeling killer nerfed because survivors cried yet on the survivor side all the bs second chances still stack and god loops and overpowered areas within maps still exist.
Yeah I'm taking a break from the game. My feedback for the developer is your update blows and perhaps it's about time someone at BHVR finally looked into real issues like swf running OoO.
-
lol of course it's abuseable but that's the point. It's only for the top end, toxic swf teams.
-
Survivors: Nerf NOED
Killers: Nerf Object of Obsession
Developers: Behaviour Interactive is pleased to announce that the long awaited Discordance changes are finally here.
-
Legion or Ghostface. Probably the only two killers I would actually delete too, the rest have a place.

"sounds are working as intended" lol
They are that's what people can't grasp. They've been buggered for 2 years and tinkered with many times. It was one of those "bugs that became a feature" things.
They don't want the old sounds from years back, they like the chase music drowning out everything. It's meant to be like this now.
-
“Waaaah! you didn’t let me press E to invalidate your hatchet throw 😭” - that’s all I hear.
I don’t use exhaustion perks as survivor anymore because I got good at chases and dont need a second chance so I couldnt care less about exhaustion add ons.
Ironic they complain though given their BNP, instaheal, multiple second chances, unbreakables and even a soul guard combo. Yeah the exhaustion add on was unfair 🙄

Please, if Ruin/Undying is so weak, then why is it everywhere? Why is every streamer and content creator running it? Why is every killer running it?
Claiming something is weak just because you don't want to admit it is strong is not okay. The facts are there: the meta shifted. And meta's only shift with strength.
It has been shadow nerfed already.
Its only being used by everyone because it has some sort of placebo effect, and also because it was good the first week and they’re still mentally hooked on that.
It sounds good on paper as well but I do think the best players will shift back to more reliable builds
-
You’d have made a better point if you didn’t get the 4k.
I do think though I may quit if they change undying/ruin immediately and leave DH/DS/Unbreakable alone. I go against those kind of perk combos so often. Its high time they started addressing the meta on both sides not just one.

Spirit would still be able to get great use out of this regardless of whether or not a survivor is running Iron Will. I feels like it would even make Iron Will less mandatory against her, since now Urban Evasion is the more reliable counter. It doesn't really matter if she can just hear your feet or just hear your grunts of pain; it just matters if she can hear you. Urban Evasion is the only thing that would help you counter this new Stridor, then, and if that sees a revival just to counter Spirit then hooray, we shook up the meta everyone's complaining about. It won't, though, so this is pretty much a non-issue. The only way this would hurt Spirit would be if footsteps were very hard to hear even with this perk, and in that case, just buff the values. Easy peasy.
This would only guarantee that a Spirit couldn't find a survivor running Iron Will that is crouching / not moving just by listening to the grunts of pain. This would only hurt Spirit against survivors that she doesn't know are there, but in that situation she's probably not using her power in the first place, so this isn't hurting her any more than it would hurt an average killer. Plus, even if she is using her power, she can still hear breathing, see grass moving, see the blood trails, etc. It's harder to find people, but not impossible either.
Spirit currently doesn't need to run Stridor even against survivors running Iron Will. She should be using her power in shorter bursts to the point where even a survivor running IW can't get away while she's phasing. Also, most survivors are not running Iron Will. Even for people sweating with a meta build it's usually DH/SB, DS, UB, Adrenaline. Iron Will isn't exactly uncommon, but most matches I don't play against a single person running it. Sometimes you'll get a few at once, but that's not very common.
lol I played Spirit for the first time in a while yesterday. 3 of the little toerags running iron will. Needless to say I brought Stridor next time.
You can get them without using stridor but what's the point in needlessly handicapping yourself by disabling sound? yeah I don't think the next lot had it, so they got hard mode because of the game before. Which is DBD in a nutshell basically. You're kind of forced to run the strongest things because it's highly likely the other side will be too.

There's still some infinite windows around. Grim Pantry, Ormond, Disturbed Ward, Father Campbells Chapel, Haddonfield, and Rancid Abattoir all have god windows still. There's probably a few more but those are off the top of my head.
Dead Dawg also has a borderline infinite loop with balanced landing. Anytime someone offers dead dawg and I see them sitting at that loop I just facecamp the entire lobby because I instantly know why I have been sent there.
abbatoir? it's strong but it's not an "infinite" anymore?
Disturbed ward definitely, pale rose has one too on the boat.

This is happening becouse sounds are not working as intended and we are still waiting for the issue to be adjusted
Sounds ARE working as intended. For the most part anyway, minus survivors on the ground being silent. Its been 2 years since sounds got run into the ground, they've tinkered with them many times since then. Silent breathing, chase music booming so loud it drowns everything out, this is how it's intended and people need to realize that.
-
McLean did cover this on his personal stream.
When you hit a survivor with vile purge and they react, that reaction is on your side, the game hasn’t yet checked with the server to see if it should count as a hit or not, it checks and if not then no infection.
He said they could possibly have the physical survivor reaction not take place until after it has checked with the server, this is possible and a visual improvement but its not on the cards right now.
Again its all due to dedicated servers. I only tried a day of two of server sided m1 hit detection so I wonder how thats going to feel long term once its in.
-
It is latency. Plague was released about 6 months before dedicated servers. Thats why she was fine originally.
-
So change perks just to hurt spirit. Spirit wouldnt need to run Stridor if all survivors werent running iron will.
Besides the breathing part hasn’t been relevant since 2018. Back then you used to hear breathing clearly but now even with stridor its still impossible on most survivors
-
Ungrateful?
The event they gave us 2 years ago was a lot of fun. Dumb yes but fun all the same. They even gave us 2 sets of cosmetics rather than the intended 1 to appease fans who felt a little disappointed by the prizes.
Fast forward 2 years and now we get....a rift. Yay another rift. With its repetitive and grindy challenges.
Its easy to slap out a rift than to create a good event and more importantly it makes more money. There’s no money in having good events.
Pay for some boring grindy missions and pay to unlock new costumes.
The direction this game has been going is not good. Its like they’re so scared of the company being a 1 hit wonder they’re milking DBD for all they can get.
-
I played Spirit earlier and one baby survivor killed themself on 1st hook shortly into the game.
I can’t help but feel like even with the penalties on these kinds of people get what they want anyway - an early end to the game, but it’s everyone else that has to suffer. I try to play nice but I know most survivors would rather opt out when one has rage quit within the first 90 seconds of the game.
So who really suffered the most with these dc penalties? The Survivor that had to wait an extra 10-15 seconds to be picked up, hooked, and then forced sacrificed? Or the team left behind who were down to 3 vs 1 at 5 gens?
-
coldwind if they make the corn tolerable. If the corn is stronger in anyway I genuinely think that may be the thing that makes me uninstall permanently.

Taking your example of Midwich. Who do you feel is at a disadvantage on that map?
I don't know and honestly couldn't care less. It wasn't the map I had in mind when I mentioned balance, I just think it's awful and doesn't fit the mechanics of the game at all.

its a little stupid that all actions are bound to Space, thats true (it keeps things simplistic though, which is also important).
but there are a couple of things you can do to avoid such a thing from happening:
- look away from the window. you cant vault a window when you stand with your back to it
- vault the window from the other side. that way you will immediately get the "pick up" action (this is kinda the same as the first though, as you end up in the same position)
- wait a second before pressing space and look what the key would trigger in this moment. then, if its not the action you want, move around a little until it updates.
should you fall for it any vault the window, eigther go for option 2, or, should they heal him hit through the window. if it was a dropdown window, F.
I think the problem is with how hectic the game can be at high rank people want fast and responsive controls.
Having to mess about walking/looking in different directions until the on screen prompt changes to “pick up” rather than vaulting a window or opening a locker etc, its not ideal while gens are flying, every second counts, and at least 2 toxic players are running into position with flashlights.
Its not too much to ask for a second control scheme that is a bit more advanced.

I dont really have an issue with any map to be honest. Sure there are some I like over others, but I just get on with it and learn to adapt my playstyles.
While I agree there are some maps that can be really difficult for the killer, it only really becomes a problem when the survivors know what they are doing.
There have been many times I have been playing survivor and get screwed over by teammates doing gens all grouped up and leaving us we the 3 closest gens at the end.
I think the main problem is with the players who can't handle losing. And if they don't get what they perceive as an easy map/killer then they blame they game.
If a match is tough, so what, take on the challenge.
Some maps are clearly unbalanced and need working. Nobody wants to play a game starting with a disadvantage like that. Its not fair.
Some maps are just abysmal in general (i.e Midwich) and have no place in the game.
Everyone can see it but the designers who seem to consider it high art.

If the survivor get a flashlight save that means the Killer made a mistake. You need to look around before you pick him up. That's much better as try to pick him up for 10 secounds.
The idea is that you can pick them up quickly while no survivors are nearby but because the game controls like ######### those 10 seconds you spend struggling to pick someone up allows survivors to get into position also it forces you to look away from walls.
I haven’t been blinded by this yet but its in the back of my mind. When it happens I’ll quit and likely uninstall.
Stop defending terrible mechanics. Since you’re survivor biased how about this its comparable to when you want to disarm a trap but the game forces a pallet drop instead which drags you into the trap.
Theres no excuse for such crap design where everything is on one button

Oh I’m not bothering. I feel like I’m unnecessarily handicapped using Wraith.
Its how it is with a lot of killers without anti-loop

The funniest moments are when a survivor relies on second chances all game, gets a narrow escape only due to a perk and then post game they brag about how good they are despite the fact that were literally carried the entire game.

I have run into that issue a few times. I have had days where I linger over the button after getting ruthlessly tunneled, but I always remind myself that it's just one game. Also, has anyone else been having trouble with DC's??? I have been forced out after loading in so many times and I get a penalty even though the game crashed. Any advice?

But at least dying on first hook earns the killer some points and buys the other survivors a little time to do gens.
Without a DC penalty, people just DC as soon as they see the map or the killer.
Sure, DC penalties don't solve every problem. But they do solve some of the problems, which is a good start.
Hopefully the next stage will be to remove the struggle mechanic so survivors are forced to stay for the whole second phase.
On the topic of maps I have to say that in most other games people only disconnect when they get a really, really bad map. One that the entire community regards as an abomination.
DBD has quite a number of them. Imagine being so arrogant and proud you need to put in a disconnect penalty to force people to play rather than admitting you have a team which is terrible at map design and reworking said maps.
I’m not saying the disconnects are justified but at the same time leaving those maps untouched sure as hell isn’t acceptable either.

I’m level 3.....
Like I said, I’ve never bothered with Wraith, other than messing around here and there. I unlocked all his perks via Shrine for other killers.
Just keep grinding until you get one of those add ons then. Bone clapper is only a yellow so it shouldn’t take too long. Just be mindful that without those add ons you’re giving the survivors a huge “I’M HERE” signal everytime you go for a surprise attack.
Truth be told Wraith is trash. He’s bad in a chase and sprint burst and spine chill both put a stop to any attempt at surprise attacks and both are in the meta right now.
-
This sounds like it only works if all living survivors are slugged? Which wont do much for 90% of disconnects out there
-
I barely had any disconnects while the penalties were off. I don’t et whats going on with the games people on these forums are having where supposedly people dc every other game.
-
What add ons are you using? You need the silent bell or bone clapper for surprise hits.

TL:DR
Survivors hate PH because he can deny them some of their most powerful perks. DS+BT. He also makes vaults unsafe. Survivors aren't happy with a killer they can't mindlessly loop until 5 gens pop.
It's basically this. They want you to play wraith, leatherface or trapper....but no OP builds, perks or add ons.

I had that and then the killer decides to slug for the 4k because why not. You have an awful thrown game and then some sad case decides to drag it out even longer.
It's why I stopped playing survivor. I'm sure BHVR couldn't care less but I stopped buying cosmetics too since I don't play survivor so....
-
It's a controversial feature which is loved by some and loathed by others.....so it's nice to see the developers go all out on making this work, which coincidentally always seems to coincide with rifts (can't have people disconnecting aand affecting archive challenges, there's money to be made). Meanwhile the game runs worse and worse full of stutters and frame drops, bugs that heavily affect the game like downed survivors making no noise are still in the game, and hacking is rampant.
I've never seen such a greedy cash grab game.
-
The devs don't care. Keep it all on one button even if it's junk.
You spend so much time messing about trying to pick them up whenever they're near something else that it allows other survivors to get in position.
-
@BadDocter said:

You mean reasons like getting found first or when they get downed quickly? If you're not going to play the game don't load it up in the first place.
To be fair that's mostly the claudettes. If you put all the claudette players in their own queue then disconnecting would go down by about 70%
-
"Thank God he had such an obviously fake build. I had no way to record the match, so this screenshot was what I used to submit a ticket to the devs. Hopefully we won't be seeing him again."
I heard they can't accept anything less than a video as screenshots can be faked.
Regardless good to see they shove the new tome out next week, dc penalties back on, but game still runs like crap, is full of bugs and the hacking epidemic hasn't been touched or even commented on yet.

My point was it only takes one gen rusher for gens to be done very ######### quickly,
As someone who has played a lot of solo I’m gonna have to disagree.
If I take a genrush build like that then either the other 3 survivors are in the dying state by the time I’ve done the first gen or I get it 99% complete only to be chased off and have Ruin regress the entire thing, I’ll then be chased for about 3 gens, then be tunneled out as the other 3 muppets all crouch around the hook.
There’s less than a 1/100 chance of a genrush solo player being able to boost a team. You need a team of good players and that doesn’t happen anymore.

And thank you for your compliment but I don't like to "flex" (Hope I wrote it right) or Like it that people "watching" me in generell. The only thing you would see is a girl who can't talk because she is to shy to say something.
Edit: I mean you don't want to see a Zombie play dbd right? :D
I wasnt saying it was impossible i was trying to show how ridiculous going into the game and not expecting a fair chance of winning is.
Pretty much everyone agrees Ormond is unbalanced and coldwind and Ormond are the two most used map offerings by survivors.....take that for what you will
