I Play Demo and get always a 4k on every map :3
How is a map too large? That would also mean survivor have to walk longer to a generator which would increase the time to finish them. Also too many pallets?? You know that you complain about one of the two things survivor have against the Killer. Maybe you should not always sweat for the 4k? That would Help your mantel Heath...maybe
“Dont try to win, accept some maps are impossible to 4k on”
Have you realised how ridiculous that sounds?
Also my mental health is fine thank you very much. Pointing out a map is unbalanced doesnt meant I sweat or stress about the game. Most good videogames tend to balance things that are unbalanced though. DBD is quite unique in that it leaves things unbalanced for years at a time.
If you’re getting the 4k as Demo every game you’re doing better than a lot of other players. Highest rank i assume? You should start streaming maybe a lot of people could learn from you

A high skill survivor would know not to get in a chase with a nurse and to slam gens.
That is true. That’s why when Nurses come to my generator I politely ask them to leave me alone and not chase me and then happily go on their way to find and chase someone else.
Oh wait.....that’s not how the game works ☹️

This is not true at all. I used to main nurse even before she was nerfed and there was still counterplay as well. Yes you can just weave mindlessly through places but that won't get you too far agaisnt a good nurse. It's all about taking the unexpected option. For example, you dip behind a wall and the nurse will either corner blink or blink along the wall to where she thinks you would have gone, but then you take the third option and keep running foward.
People also don't realise that pallets can actually be quite effectve against a nurse, not only scaring her but making her blink in predictable pathing.
ALSO you can react to a nurse holding their blink for longer and play accordingly. With spirit and deathsligner there's no reacting.
In those cases she still has an actual chance to get the hit. Again you’re relying on the Nurse to make the wrong move.
Nurse has far less counterplay than Spirit - a killer who is physically stopped by pallets and walls but in their anger people don’t realize this.

The thing is colours are required to play that game. There are minigames that litterally are connect the colored dots.
DbD not so much. You can play the game perfectly fine colorblind. The biggest issue is small aura's like survivors in the distance or aura's of hex totems but that isn't required to play the game.
So while it would be nice to have a colorblind feature it really doesn't hamper gameplay as much as other games like league and among us that did get one.
accessibility is important but when the game already is accessible it's not that high of a priority.

I don't know why they continue to think it's a good idea to bring this nonsense back. The game is nowhere near stable or balanced enough to warrant a penalty.
Like, honestly. If there must be a DC penalty, it should never surpass 15 minutes.
Your game is not nearly in good enough shape to warrant a penalty that can go up to hours. I get it. I play killer. Nearly constantly. People DC like it's a race and cuck me of hooks/points/bbq stacks. I totally understand that, and it sucks....but the penalty should never exceed 15 minutes. Ever. DBD has a decent game for the most part, but you're pretty full of yourselves if you think it's so good that you can say "oh you DC'd? Your game crashed? Your internet went out? One of our dedicated servers straight up lost connection with you (which is more common than you think)? You need to be punished for up to x amount of hours!"
Rocket League - a far more stable, far more balanced, and far more competitive game with less bugs, has a perfect DC penalty system, and you should take their idea and implement it here. If someone DC's, everyone else is now free to DC with no penalty. The first person is banned for 15 minutes. It never goes beyond 15 minutes - and it's done a pretty good job of curbing DC's in Rocket League ranked play.
DC penalties - you're doing it wrong. You're taking a "now you're forced to play our game" approach when you should be taking a "well, this is really unfair for everyone else" approach.
Thats what I always said. Once one person disconnects the rest should be able to.
Instead now if someone disconnects within the first minute everyone else is forced to sit and play a tilted game that nobody wants to play. How is that fair? Oh wait it’s not.
Easy to put in draconian penalties though when you dont play the game, have no intention of ever playing the game and therefore never have to deal with half of the nonsense that’s in the game.

What are you talking about. Survivor use Ormond offerings because it's one of the best maps in the game right now, because
- it's the only map on day
- has snow
- the Clubhouse of the Legion (yes this is a plus)
- Overall great Design
What are you mean with busted?
Play all the M1 killers at rank 1 on Ormond for a few days and then come back to me and tell me how it feels balanced.
It’s too large with far too many pallets.
-
Way too strong. Everyone that runs self-care alone right now could just use the free perk slot for botany or desperate measures and then everyone has turbo self-care.
-
He’s a weird one. He kind of reminds me of Clown - has the ability to end chases faster than other killers, yet lacks that certain something when it comes to pressure.
-
I refuse to believe you and your friend (who takes OoO) btw can’t handle the average public match Spirits.

With Undying and Tinkerer, it almost balances out.
Considering how many maps are so killer sided with so much deadzones, survivors do need a map or two to have it easier.
After a Spirit brings in the most ridiculous build and slaughters everyone because of auras all over the screen on the tiny McMillan map, an Ormond map is a breath of fresh air.
Are we playing the same game? 🤣
You can tell how busted a map is by how often one side uses an offering for it. That alone is conclusive proof that Ormond is busted as hell since survivors are burning it non-stop these days.
-
She is the strongest killer and regardless of what people say - THIS is the killer without counter play. Running back and forth and weaving about, all you're doing is trying to make the other play miss, it's their mistake to make.
That said seeing a top level nurse is extremely rare and that's why people don't complain. Nurse herself is rare let along a really good one, meanwhile people will face Spirits and deathslingers all day long and so that's why they tend to receive all of the complaints.
Trust me if every DBD killer started playing and practicing only nurse then in a few weeks survivors would be begging to have spirit and deathslinger back. Especially a slugging nurse.

When you get the toxic players rage quit after you play toxic back. Always makes me laugh.

Well, too bad. Seems kinda dumb to leave the players at the mercy of hackers without any form of protection if you ask me.
It does doesn't it.
-
It's really overrated. Undying goes within about 60 seconds and then Ruin not too long after.
It was good the first week but then survivors started taking totems seriously and the devs shadow nerfed the perk. Call me a conspiracy nut if you want but i went wednesday - sunday and I had this on every build and only 2 or 3 games in a 5 day period did Ruin get cleansed first. So I stopped using it until yesterday when I had a daily and didn't know what else to take on the killer and yup 2/2 games Undying gets cleansed first.
Before the hotfix it was a true 50/50 but now it's almost guaranteed to be Ruin. Pure chance or bad luck doesn't explain this. They programmed it to have a higher chance of taking out Undying if it's paired with Ruin.

Yeah, I played a match a hour ago and reported two survivors of another platform who instantly escaped through the hatch and left the last survivor alone.
But reporting is a bit laborious.
I had to cut down my vid to 20 MB because else an error occured and said the upload took longer than expected.
I wrote the hackers names and #numbers in the ticket because there is no other information about them. I hope that is enough.
The last question in the ticket is 'Did you create an in-game report?'
I choosed 'No'. But what exactly does that mean?
When you report in the post game lobby. The standard report where you click the thumbs downs on the endgame screen.
You’re meant to do that and then report on the support site as well

Any mention of some sort of anti cheat program the DEVs added as well? Seems pointless to bring back DC penaltys if hackers can still force you into a ban ez
Lol keep dreaming. They’ve been silent on anti-cheat for a long time.
All dc penalties do is ensure you cant opt out if you come across a hacker.

When Undying first came out, I assumed it meant the hex would only transfer once. But then I found out it can literally transfer 4 times if no one cleanses a dull.
Imo, I think it should be nerfed, but not completely, it can still have its aura readings and it's transfer. But make it so it transfers ONCE and not 4 times.
lol at that point it would be worthless. People forget how easily totems can be found on most of the maps.
-
It's been pretty bad for me recently. Undying gone within the first 60 seconds and then Ruin doesn't last much longer. I've ditched it on most killers.
It was good the first week but now that survivors treat totems as a priority and have learned totem spots again it's not that great imo.

“I also don't understand the logic of the first 2 survivors laying exactly where they were slugged. If you were the first survivor surprised and slugged does it not make sense to move away from the hook? You force the killer to make a choice to cover you, the hooked survivor, or hook you. Simply laying there next to the hook makes it super easy for the killer to cover both people at once.”
Welcome to solo queue. Where nothing makes sense and people don’t think.

This is highly incorrect. This might work out against some Tournament Squads (but I know, every Forum-Killer goes against them all of the time), but not in regular DBD-Games, even with SWF-included. Dropping Pallets immediatly and not killing the team by doing so would work at max on Ormond.
Most Maps dont have many Pallets, even tho they are safe, which creates some bad situations (and honestly, there should be way more Pallets, but less safe ones) where god Survivors can run around Killers who need to break the Pallets and bad Survivors throw the few Pallets on the Map so that their team does not have any ressources left.
Like, I regularly have games where Shack Pallet is gone at 5 Gens. Like, just thrown, who needs it anyway. So saying that Survivors can just play safe and win is not correct at all. This only works if your team is actually doing stuff AND you have the right Map for that, but I can assure you that at least the first point is not given that often.
But a solution for that would be that instead of having 8-12 safe Pallets, every Map has like 20+ Pallets where like 2 or 3 are safe and the rest is quite unsafe. But sadly something like that would not work out since Bloodlust exists.
Not true it’s only tournament squads.
I’ve seen tru3 get it in public, otz get it in public and I’ve had it in public.
SWF can pull it off. All you need is the other survivors to be on gens - which is what often happens in a 4 man due to the info they have and the fact that everyone is working together.
It’s only impossible in solo where you got the noob claudette dropping every pallet instantly, the other claudette hiding in a bush, Bill walking around the map doing nothing and you being the only person on a generator.
-
I disagree heavily. I tried it and I thought it was really bad. According to the wiki the movement speed is -7.5%. Putting Plague down to 107.5%, that’s slow as hell and makes it easy to avoid Corrupt which already has a bit of a delay on it itself. I guess it depends on the map but if you’re anywhere you can run around a structure here you should be safe.
Secondly the shorter duration makes it harder to snowball. I had Sanctum of wrath which is an awful map and they were constantly spreading out, combined with the lower movement speed it was hard to keep it going.
If I wanted a good corrupt purge build I’d take the 2 purple add ons instead.
-
I don't get the issue. I'll be kind and put it mildly - they weren't very good at the game.
You would have made your point better if you showed an actual good team using these perks.

I believe it was Lithe, I remember the "Lithe" part because of Otz's chat going crazy when lithe was being used.
And yeah, I'm also surprised that no exhaustion perks were used especially dead hard since it's also very common now a days.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1674607#Comment_1674607
Specific stats? Like what kind if I may ask?
No I mean didn't they say that "Lithe is more popular than Dead Hard", rather than "Lithe is more popular than DS", because I remember everyone complaining about dead hard and then they say according to their stats etc Lithe is a more popular exhaustion perk.
-
No. Survivors are now prioritising totems. Both of these are on average going much faster than before. Unless you want to waste your time running to defend totems every minute, in which case survivors would just sit on the gens.
Not to mention not all killers can pressure the map equally and not all maps are easy to apply pressure on. Plus it’s hard to judge how much effectiveness Ruin is giving you. Sometimes gens will fully regress, sometimes you’ll only get bits of regression but other survivors will finish the gen.
I’ve already ditched this combo on a number of killers and I’m having more success running former builds and builds more tailored to each killer.
For what it’s worth I feel like Ruin/Undying was shadow nerfed in a hotfix. Undying is the first totem cleansed 99% of the time. It was happening so frequently over so many games that a 50/50 chance does not explain it. If you flip a coin 50 times you don’t expect it to be Heads 45 times ya know?

The thing is, when I run ruin, all the generators get done because I guess I Haven't learned yet how to pressure gens while doing a chase? It's kind of confusing to explain but I guess I should just start one-hitting and then going for a gen to scare the survivors off it?
If Ruin isn’t doing much this is a bad combo. You’re using 3 perk slots just for Ruin. Yeah totems will slow them down but if they do get Ruin out of the way you’ve only got 1 perk, or in this case it sounds like survivors are able to ignore Ruin anyway especially on larger maps where its harder to chase them off gens.
Ruin isn’t worth 3 totems like that. Not for most killers.
-
Wasn’t it “more used than dead hard” they actually said?
On the PC version that’s definitely not true. In fact I’m surprised that you don’t have a single DH in there, I get about 3 per game on average with the last likely having sprint burst.
Come to think of it crossplay is on now and I dont see that many console gamers using Lithe.
I really have to question some of their stats. They claimed swf wasnt that common but from my experience yes it is.

I'll probably get shamed for this but where did this mentality of, "You didn't juke him he just missed."
Its not a mentality, its a fact. You can not react to his quickscope, especially not if he is semi-close range.
But its the act of you wiggling that makes him miss.
You’re not dodging after hes fired but I guarantee if you ran in a straight line the DS players would miss much less often.
Add in latency too and thats exactly what happens. I played DS earlier and survivors were wiggling and my shots missed even though the harpoon WENT RIGHT THROUGH THE SURVIVOR!!!
Its like when you hit them, see the harpoon hit, see the survivor get turned around and react....and then they turn back and vault the window.
This is what happens when the game matches you against people from the other side of Europe.
You’re not dodging after he has fired maybe but trust me all that wiggling is you making him miss.
-
- Self-care is bad by itself.
- Self-care + botany is a good combo. Heal yourself whenever you want + botany really eats into a killers pressure you will find and you can pull off last second heals you would never get away with otherwise
- Bond is good if you want to keep Iron will. Find people to heal you but also gives you great map awareness. When the killer is being led towards you, when you’re leading the killer to others, where other survivors are that may need healing, which gens are being worked on etc etc
- Inner strength is what I use. You’ll find a totem or two easy enough without looking. Between that and other survivors it gets me through most games well enough.
- Pharmacy - Used to be good with botany because you would get at least 2 heals which was enough. Now after the nerf I honestly wouldn’t bother. Might as well just take inner strength. Its basically the same thing. Spend a little bit of time looking for thing and cleansing/opening thing to get a fast heal later. Except Inner strength also works towards eliminating NOED and it cant be countered by franklins.

I want to love this game but i cant stand the grind and countless bugs and issues that make the game frustrating to play when i play killer and survivor.

Idk, I'm not a good slinger, but what I'm trying to say is, you didn't ever juke a deathslinger, the deathslinger missed.
What I’m trying to say is the margin for error is so great that’s its the reason so many zone rather than going straight for the shot.
We’ve had this with Pyramid too recently. Survivors complained about his zoning and all the killers said its because the POTD is ridiculously easy to avoid.
DS can be the same. Slightest wiggle and it misses its easier to zone until close.

Mother’s Dwelling is only 12,032m squared, are you seriously telling me it’s hard to pressure such a tiny map as killer
-
I have to say the past 2 days have been much better. No meta sweat squads. I’ve actually been able to play meme builds on lesser killers and have fun. Well mostly, Hawkins despite being killer sided still sucks the fun out of the game as most chases tend to be non-interactive and come down to holding W but aside from that its been ok.

You can't juke a deathslingers harpoon, it is physically and mathematically impossible, you have to have record time reaction speed to do it.
Have you played DS against good survivors?
-
In no particular order...
1) Hackers. Seems to be more and more everyday.
2) Bad maps. Some still have overpowered window loops, are too big, or too many hold W zones and god pallets
3) Moris and keys
4) Bugs and audio issues
5) More and more crazy perks added creating situations with no counterplay
6) Ranking/matchmaking. Putting a total mismatch of players together.
7) Every kind of slowdown for the killer whether its ruin/undying or thana just means slower gens or more gen regression = more holding m1 on a generator. Surely there must be something else they could add.

If you haven’t noticed Demogorgan, PH, both have trash ultra rare add ons. DS is a little better but yeah looking at these 3 killers those new kinds of Iri heads will fit right in.

@[Deleted User] said:
I could not disagree more.
Survivors do not hate not being able to bully killers and get into their routine. Survivors hate when their hundreds of hours of experience playing the game doesn't matter. It's pretty much all down to the skill of the killer. That is straight up not fun. If the PH or Deathslinger misses you, you don't get a feeling of "wow, I made such a good play there!" like you would if you dodged a hatchet or successfully mindgamed the killer. You get a feeling of "Huh. Maybe the killer's bad." Zoning is just a lose/lose and should be removed from the game. Imagine a Huntress that can move at 110% while readying a hatchet and that can M1 almost immediately after putting her hatchet down. Would that be broken in the 1v1? Of course. That's roughly how it feels to play against PH or Deathslinger.
There needs to be room for skill to shine through on both sides. Arguments to the effect of "Run spine chill" or "Just split up and rush gens" do not deal with the fundamental problem with these killers, which is that there's just about nothing you can do to avoid a hit unless the killer is a potato. That makes interacting with them a flat out chore when it's usually the most fun part of the match. "But it's hard to land hits as Deathslinger! The hit box is tiny." "But it's hard to aim as PH! He's so clunky." I honestly don't care. I don't want to avoid getting hit because of lag, or hit boxes, or because you're bad. I want to avoid getting hit, at least some of the time, because I made a skillful play.
Survivors already have to adopt many different play styles against different killers. Pyramid Head and Deathslinger are not groundbreaking in that regard. Blight was already substantially more novel than both, and he offers a high skill cap for killers and plenty of counterplay for survivors. That's more of what I want to see added to the game.
I'm all for asking for more variety. That's a great thing. Pyramid Head and Deathslinger are not really "variety", though. They're basically different versions of Huntress that can zone in exchange for other trade offs, like a more limited range.
But that works both ways. Killers want to lose because they went against a good team, not because the survivor ran a god window 3 times and they couldn’t do anything about it, not because of stacked second chance, maps full of a thousand safe pallets, or holding W on Midwich or Hawkins.
There is a lot of situations where against a team that knows what they’re doing some of the older killers just can’t get the job done. They simply don’t have the tools in their kit to make it work. Not just that but going by the examples above it takes relatively little skill on the survivor side to do that. Run Ormond for example and its safe pallet to safe pallet to safe pallet, DH for distance and then safe pallet to safe pallet. Survivors love that and I get it that feels more fun but on the killer side it’s garbage, the mechanics of the game give you no input. Its the reverse of your scenario, you dont get hits or hooks because you did good, you get them because the survivor made a mistake.
Have you played any of those ranged killers? Especially deathslinger, all it takes is a little wiggle to make his shot miss. Half a step and it will fly past you. Theres a reason him and PH zone.
-

I honestly lose brain cells every time someone compares DBD pub matches to tournaments. Those Spirits were limited to yellow/brown addons and there were only 3 spirits that were actually good.
Most Spirits in red rank Pub matches run Dirty Uwabaki or Mother Daughter Ring against players without coms. Now tell me how that's actually comparable? Sure survivors have a much lower skill cap than killers but to say survivors take no skill is a bit asinine.
and most survivors run a full loadout of meta perks, those survivors were only allowed 2 max of each meta perk. Also I love how you say there were only 3 that were good.....as if they're gonna be way below your average public match spirits. Your average pub spirit is even worse and probably has less hours on the game.
I see spirit with MD ring once in a blue moon. Most tend to run yellow/green add ons from my experience. Lets not forget survivors bring way better items in public matches too and right now there seems to be a surge of BNP users.
