Yeah I dunno about specifics beyond that but I know when I did it they all had to be grabs. Dunno about chases or whatnot but they seemed to always count so long as I grabbed.
Yep you´re propably right. Maybe OP can keep us updated if that works.

Yes, it is.

Pretty sure no matter what you still have to grab them out of the trap.
This would explain so mutch. Just yesterday I had a DC match and I memed with the remaining Survivors. They stepped in traps 20+ times but on the stats page I got like +1 catches. Would also explain why after a long day of Trapper games rocking STBFL and greeding every token you barely get any registered catches.
-
It´s been years since I done this one, but I think I recall what the issue is.
Survivors stepping on your traps don´t always count. It´s the same with the DBD stats tracker page. I think what counts are:
-Survivors stepping in a trap in chase , ending the chase
-Survivors getting grabbed out of traps (may not count if Survivor stepped on it outside of chase)
Best of luck, this one may take a while!

I love this idea so much and I am sorry to be such a baby but if this was in the game I'd like to imagine everyone feeding him apples and brushing him after trials ;w;
I bet you could make almost any Killer concept sound cute and wholesome ^^

I unironically think they´re all pretty much fine. The only changes I´d take into consideration would be to either transfer the bonus recovery from Unbreakable to Buckle Up or take it away after being picked up, regardless f by oneself or by another Survivor. Another change I think would be justified would be for Adrenaline to not give a health state while on the hook or on the shoulders of the Killer.

Object. paired with comms, it´s just the worst, especially vs Trapper and Myers.

Speaking of T1 myers, I really hope they change it. I think it would be cool if it could be used as utility throughout the game instead of a hindrance in the early game.
Not too long ago I made a post regarding Myers changes. Among other things, I suggested to make T1 4.4 and to give Undetectable for a short period of time after T3 ends. Myers really doesn´t need much , but he needs something to be brought in line with more modern Killers.

That is really weird; that there is a survivor perk that can completely counter the stealth of any killer (ik you can just look to the side, but still).
It´s only really, really strong for Killers that need to stalk. They can not get good use out of their power against a skilled SC user. But Pig, Wraith or Undetectable perk users aren´t that affected by it imo.
@Kebek said:
Nah that's definitely a bad idea. Spine chill is fine and it doesn't hard counter stealth killers, only soft counters them. Good stealth killer will realise that someone is using spine chill against them if they approach unseen but survivors still run away.
Next time, walking sideways or backwards, you are almost guaranteed a grab as people usually don't look around that much with spine chill. It has fair counterplay and killers who refuse to use it, should begin doing so or they'll keep mising out on their suprise attacks.
Undeteatable isn't supposed to be foolproof, having soft counters to stealh killers is ok, same soft counter is using for example DH to counter 1 of nurses blinks.
"Next time" being when the team knows they are dealing with a T1 Myers and 3 gens later. Also, good luck grabbing a Survivor that isn´t watching Netflix on the side ;-)
-
If it didn´t work vs Undetectable, the perk would have no purpose whatsoever. It´s the designated counter to Undetactable.
That being said, the range is just too much. In my opinion, 24m would be more appropriate. It´s so dumb that if you want to really play around SC you can never look in the direction you´re moving towards for such a long time.
It´s also dumb that the perks range exceeds the max stalking range for Myers and Ghostface. Good luck getting a good stalk on a good Survivor running this perk.

I must've been sneakily given some mushrooms in my food because there's no way I'm reading this right 😂
I genuinely want to know your rank because there's no way I've read anything you've written correctly lol
Crouching everywhere?! If you do that then your going to be heavily relying on your teammates to escape lol only babies hook-bomb.
You've obviously never been camped by a Hag with MYC and Mint Rag. Add STBFL to that and them being in basement and she's guaranteed at least 1 kill. Rusty shackles HIDE THE TRAPS lol you literally can't see them so your just guessing where she's placed them.
@Slashstreetboy he must be trolling. I don't think I'll reply to the next one because I'll probably lose my mind 😂
I´m getting the same vibes. If he´s unironically meaning what he says then I´m sorry for him that he has such difficulties assessing a situation, won´t reply anymore either though. Got some good laughs out of it at least^^

Ah, wait, I should give advice for Myers, too!
Make sure you aren't walking out in the open--like, seriously, I see far too many Shape players doing this at tier 1.
Myers's largest advantage is the early-game information you can get while people have no idea where you are.
A second thing you can do is look back and forth while stalking survivors if it seems like they have spine chill, as this will make them think that you are simply looking around or are already in chase, rather than right on top of them!
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1924566#Comment_1924566
Advice for Shape is above.
Crouching everywhere and flashlights really aren't that hard, despite what every survivor hook-bombing what they know is a Hag seem to think!
I'm not joking, Hag is very well balanced--even with the add-ons you mentioned.
Mint Rag means that while your range just went absolutely sicko-mode, you have to make split-second decisions if more than one trap triggers--suddenly you can't just bounce between multiple survivors, you have to pick one and stick with them! And heaven forbid you have to use traps multiple times in chase, or if that survivor's got just the edge they need to waste your time, because then you're losing out more often than not (unless mistakes are made, of course, as always).
Rusty Shackles are easy--just DON'T RUN I SWEAR TO G--Seriously, if you just crouch around and look carefully for traps, you're golden. Even better if you can set them off and immediately hide, because then that Hag is going to have to waste time setting them back up or just let surveilling that location go, and there's no phantasm to give away your location.
If you rely on teammates to tell you where traps are when not in chase, you're doing something wrong. Again, I sound like a jerk, but that's just how it is.
+1 I think you´re my new favorite forum troll!

Myers doesn't need a buff, he's really perfectly fine as is--if you're having problems with him, you're probably playing him wrong! No offence intended, but I feel like what I said was offensive--not sure how to make it less so...
Trapper is also perfectly fine in the hands of good killers! Some of his add-ons need a touch-up, but his base kit works perfectly fine. Even people with maps can have issues with him, and if your traps aren't catching people, you can still use said traps to corral them where you want!
Thanks for the advice, I guess. I´ve been maining these two for over 2k hrs now. I win much, much more than I lose. This does not change the fact that these two are contesting with Wraith for being the weakest Killer.

I have yet to see anyone seriously claiming to play around survivors using DS for free gen time, free unhooks, free totems, etc. Mostly they just claim to power through it.
I kinda feel the same way. When a very skilled team uses DS+UB aggressively, there is no such thing as "playing around it". This combo guarantees saves or objective progress and there´s nothing that can be done about it.
Seasoned Killers just have become so skillful that they can win despite the fact.
-
Unfortunately, they decided to disregard the universal dislike for the new HUD and are going to implement it regardless. I wonder what the reasoning behind this is. The DEVs aren´t dumb (contrary to popular belief), and I can´t wrap my head around the fact why they push a change that everyone hates and literally nobody benefits from.
Regarding PTB: McLean shed a bit more light on that during their last stream. Basically, it enables them to make changes according to problems or disliked features sooner (compared to starting to get feedback on live release).

usually in sea they will slug you and patrol around you waiting until 60s passed or hitting anyone come near making ds useless even with ub.
Well that´s of course an option Killers have. An option that costs them 3 gens for 1 hook state.
-
Nerfed: Spirit and Freddy, that´s basically a no-brainer.
Buffed: Trapper, Myers, also no-brainers.
-
As someone who "mains" Myers, I made a suggestion post about him not too long ago. Chck it out if you want to:

@odra said:
actually if this getting buffed. i would say something to prevent killer hit u and slugging u until timer off. so i would like if you got slugged the timer will pause. this slug things making me never use DS anymore
That would be way too strong. Also, being slugged doesn´t cost you a hook state. You can either pick yourself up with SB or UB or be picked up by a teammate.

Didn´t take pebbles into consideration. Might be way too op now that I think about it.
-
I think a slight nerf would be justified, but not in the way you suggest. If it wouldn´t work vs Undetectable, the perk would lose its purpose.
That being said, it´s too strong against stalking Killers. A range limit of 24m would keep all the benefits alive while removing the need for Killers to never look in the direction they´re moving.

The only ones I watch very frequently are Otz and Lefty, very different guys but each one pleasant to watch and unique in their own ways.

I appreciate their effort so much. All we can do is do our part and hope others will do the same, this is a chance we´re given here.
On a sidenote, Not_Queen is basically acting like a mom that has to deal with the brattiest of children (us), which I found very cute somehow. She seems to be such a nice person, unbelievable how much ######### the CM team has to deal with. I hope it gets better.

Not everyone has the luxury of playing in a organized really sweaty SWF to stand a chance at winning.
There´s also a lot changing for Survivor in a positive way.
Moris, one of the most unbalanced things in the game, are now pretty much without any impact sans 2nd hook DS prevention.
Undying gets severely nerfed soon.
Freddy is up for nerfs.
Iri heads 100% will be looked at in the near future when Huntress is due for her update.
Please try to look at these things a bit more calmly. DS is still as good an anti tunneling perk as it was before. The nutty broken aspects of it are getting addressed. Personally, I was not one of the people that was burning for a DS change, but this seems so tame. I´m very sorry but the complaints about this all sound exactly the same to me as the salty Killer tears when Pops duration was changed to 45 seconds.

Yeah in a way, but with different problems though.
Freddy isn't even so much as overpowered as overly spammable. Since there is no repercussion to just spamming your power instead of thinking about it; everyone can play him near peak effectiveness. If he had to think more about using his power; it would probably be just as a strong but his kill rate would drop a lot to people who don't really know what they are doing.
When you step in a trapper trap you feel like he got you good, when you step in a snare you are like "Jfc that's a lot of puddles" he makes shack look like that elevator from the Shining.
Oh yeah 100%. Hopefully the changes to Freddy will force players to put much more braincells to work to play him as effectively as they currently do. Easiest way would be to look at the snares and in one way or another limit their availability.
Got me good with that shack joke sad but true :D
-
Spine Chill would be the perfect perk if the range was somewhere around 24-28m. I love it as Survivor but hate it as a stalking Killer.
Not only is the early warning great (and even pretty nutty against GF for example) but the action speed is also neat.
-

She is a fairly balanced killer for the most part; but against top notch survivors she is actually on the weaker end. It's why she is considered bottom tier; while being statistically pretty effective.
Are you actually here for correct information however; or just to vent?
Pretty accurate. In this regard, she is very similar to Freddy. They´re also very similar in the way that both have a versatile, multipower basekit.

Why do people still think OOO is strong against Stealth Killers? It isn't. OOO was nerfed a long time ago so you can't see stealth killers with it.
It´s because unlike spine chill, object always tells you which direction they are coming from. It also gives away that it is an undetectable Killer at the start.
-
After tremendous efforts, I got a friend into trying DBD. He bought it for switch. The thing didnt even manage to launch DBD, so there´s that.
-
This proposed change is nothing short of amazing. Here´s why:
The main problems with the current Object of Obsession are
1)Too much value for little risk if used in a team
2)Far too strong against stealth Killers and especially Trapper
3)Encourages unhealthy gameplay on both sides - Object is often used to annoy and BM Killers, Killers in turn often Tunnel and camp the Object to combat these issues
4)No viable counterplay options for Killers, except being a top tier KIller like Spirit which are the only ones that can capitalise on the alleged downside
With the proposed changes, Object becomes more valuable for solo players. The base, non-obsession effect should be of great use to combat a number of Killer meta perks, most notably BBQ, Nurses Calling, Undying, Retribution, I´m all Ears. If used by a team, it´s great to quickly determine aura reading perks on the Killer side and adapt accordingly, making it still a great choice for SWF.
If the user happens to be the obsession, they still get very good aura reading, the strength of which is now much more reasonable ( there is no aura reading perk nearly as strong in this regard as current Object, none is even remotely close). This removes the oppression it embodies towards Trapper and stealth reliant Killers, as well as removing the obligation to tunnel (or as some people do, ignore) the Object, both of which reduce the toxicity on either side.
Thank you for coming up with such an elegant, balanced solution for something many people percieve as one of the most urgent issues that need to be addressed. I hope the feedback you recieve on this inclines you to include the community more frequently. I hope everyone behaves, fingers crossed.
-
The Oni. One day he will get real angy and destroy the entity, the realm, all the Survivors and Killers except Rin and take her home (and Feng bc she´s so cute).
-
Very good perk, no longer busted and nasty in SWF. I love it.
I also hope they hurry up with the Object changes a bit. I´ve played 6 matches today, 5 of which had at least one Object. It seems it´s a similar situation like with the keys, where now over 50% of lobbys have keys. The toxic trolls know their favorite toys are up for fixes so they are squeezing as much out of them as they can. Maybe I´ll take a break if this trend goes on.
-
The hook counter per Survivor is - maybe - a good addition for soloq (you know, the game mode that needs some love the most). If it weren´t for the fact that most people pay next to no attention in their matches, I´d say solo players could use this information to determine who goes for the safe, for example. You´re on death hook, injured, and you have 2 mates that have been hooked 0-1 times, both healthy. They need to go for the save. But well, that may be a bit high of an expextation to have from the average teammates, but maybe it will help.
The Killer hook counter simply should not exist. It gives me no information whatsoever since I always know who has been hooked how many times, so all it does is take up valuable FOV space.
-
It might kill the game for the most toxic, obnoxious trolls. Good riddance.
Maybe you have not seen the hundreds of posts that highlight why these perks have been problematic, maybe you were unable to follow the reasoning, maybe you enjoy imbalanced stuff, I don´t know. These are good changes that contribute to a more balanced and enjoyable experience for everyone, same with the recent changes to Moris and the upcoming Undying change.
-
Imagine
-
Imagine complaining about BBQ aura reading.
-
As a Trapper/Myers main, I couldn´t be happier. The salt towards the perk that I´ve gathered over the years made me wish for a more severe nerf, but in the end they chose the better route of making the perk still useful while taking away the extremely busted oppression it embodied towards some Killers. Elegantly done, I love it.
-
1) it makes the match much more boring
2) the win doesn't feel as earned
3)hook suicides make me feel some kind of moral pressure to switch to farming mode or even letting the remaining survivors go. As someone who only plays soloq as Survivor, I hate hook suiciders with my guts, so as Killer I know how city it feels to lose the game to a teammate more than to the killer
-
I´m sitting here cracking my first beer of 2021 because I´m very happy with the upcoming stuff. I´ve campaigned for Object changes since summer. Genuinely amazed about what´s to come, I´m even getting my hopes up that they will take the UI feedback seriously!

New OOO is trash, but that's fine it was an abusable perk and really didn't need to be in the game.
Well that´s the thing. It´s no longer the most BS perk ever, but it´s still useful imo. Imagine seeing the Killer come for you after a hook as a solo player, or beelining for you selfcaring in a corner thanks to Nurses, having their aura revealed at a gym against I´m all ears etc etc. It´s a decent aura reading perk alone for that, and if you´re the Obsession you get free aura reading at intervalls.
-
I main Trapper and Myers. My go-to build is Corrupt, Pop, Brutal Strength and BBQ. Pretty generic for the mot part, except for brutal.
Bear in mind that I play 90/100 matches without addons. He´s strong without them.
You need to abuse your stealth to the best of your ability to get some good stalk in at the start. It´s usually a good idea to pop T3 early, get a down (or force a ton of pallets, hence brutal strength) and then get rolling with BBQ+Pop. The next guy either goes down super fast too or gives you even more free pallets.
Use Tier 3 as often as possible, but try not to waste it. Tier up immediately before a hit.
-
*chefs kiss* very tasteful and fair changes, I´m genuinely amazed that they addressed both perks so elegantly.
-
It´s great vs BBQ; Nurses, I´m all Ears, possibly new Undying, Bitter Murmur. I genuinely think this will be used especially since BBQ is so popular. You get a massive info boost whether the Killer is coming to your gen after a hook or not (more useful to solo players, which is good).
