I feel you. It kinda saddens me to see that many rants. Especially the ones that are straight up just rants and don´t even try to contribute anything of value. It´s okay to state opinions but some people on here seem to go out of their way to shame/guilt trip people to accept their opinions.
Gotta support what Roobnus said though. Although I firmly believe BHVR does in fact care about DBD and wants it to thrive (unpopular opinion I guess), some forum responses by officials seemed really questionable. There is some room for improvement on the PR department IMO.

I like MacMillan and Yamaokas aesthetics the most. Would love to see more of those.
Honorable Mention to Haddonfield . Would love to see some gameplay design changes there though.

Well, you are kinda touching a hot topic there. According to the emblem system you win if you pip. To pip you have to achieve a certain amount of points in the Emblem categories. These will determine whether you rank up. The higher your rank, the better you have to do in order to achieve this.
Many people consider Rank meaningless though, so you will find quite the variety of opionions on what is considered a "win" in DBD. For some its strictly about kills, others go with Bloodpoints.
Personally I consider it a win if I did well and had fun. So find what you define as winning :)

I´d also go with Oni, play him a lot. He offers good pros and cons for his power, provides counterplay, requires a reasonable amount of mechanical skill and is capable of dealing with skilled survivors if played well.
Same goes for Hillbilly though, but havent played him much for about a year so yeah can´t rly tell how the recent changes affected him.
-
Same for me, the pallet stun when you don´t even know a survivor is there - biggest jumpscare for me every time :D
-
On the flipside , starting out as a saw lovin billy might give a scewed perception on how good killers can pressure the map and get downs.
I would recommend Wraith too. Or myers if available. The starting grind for decent perks is tough regardless of killer chosen.

I really wanna encourage you to stick through it. The new system supposedly will get better over time as more people play.
For the time being, maybe consider taking a break or ( please dont crucify me for this) focus more on survivor at least a little while. At least for me that used to work and I even started enjoying Survivor much more.
May I ask how experienced you are in general ?
-
You still have options though. Equip Franklins, Kill the map wielder first, play less trap reliant ( ye I know easier said than done).
I personally dont mind maps too much and I play Trapper a lot in red ranks. Just try and adpt your playstyle. This of course is only possible if the survivors dont cheese you into a disadvantage with last second switching, this tech is total BS.

As of recently the ranks are no longer the determining factor for matchmaking. They were replaced with a hidden MMR system to assess the players skill to match them with appropriate opponents.
I feel bad for you though. It´s tough starting out in DBD and having that as your first experiences certainly sucks. I hope you can push through, get better and start enjoying the game.
On a side note : It might very well be that the new system hasn´t fully settled in, so matches with a higher disparity in skill might linger around for a little longer.

I'm just gonna say this and not talk about it further. After 30 minutes I was really struggling to keep talking. Was getting dizzy because I have some kind of sinus infection. I made the video for fun and because ive been too sick to stream so I wanted to make up for it. I just ask people stop overanalyzing what is essentially a shoddy live experiment that I wanted to be over halfway through.
Hope you get better soon. Really enjoyed your recent discussions!

I think these are interesting ideas.
The thought of having survivors slowly recharge their stalk meter crossed my mind before. It cant be too fast as to prevent abuse though.
I really like the adjustments you have in mind for the addons. Would work really well with that new mechanic imo.
For the rest im not so sure, but Myers definately is in dire need to upgrade his Power to meet modern Challenges.

What meta perks would have changed the pallet situation? If anything the fact that he ran Brutal benefited him... Ruin wouldn’t help here because of the chase the other three coups have kept on gens. Even the old sporty fury/enduring combo wouldn’t have mattered to end the chase because he dropped them so early.

Yeah I don’t mean to imply Otz is the best, but he’s obviously pretty good as killer. Granted playing a weaker killer with meh addons as well. The main thing I wanted to talk about was how much of the killers time you can waste just by tossing pallets and holding W
Ye ever since Scottjunds Videos the word has gotten around just how powerful holding W can be.

To achieve a merciless victory you have to do well enough in the Emblem Categories, respectively Gatekeeper, Chaser, Malicious and Devout.
How high you have to score to get the Merciless victory depends on your rank. The higher your rank, the better you have to score. I suggest looking up the details about how to gain points in each emblem on the DBD wiki.
-
Well, it´s been said time and again on here - time spent playing does not directly translate into skill.
I watch Otz quite a lot since he´s my favorite DBD streamer. Sadly, in this particular match he didnt quite live up to his peak performance imho.
After the match he is stating the obvious: There is no way to guarantee a 4k every match, especially with Legion. Some games u just get unlucky spawns and tile placements, or make a not so optimal decision on the fly.
I feel you though. The way these Survivors played, the outcome feels a little bit undeserved. Nothing one can do about it though.
