Well the perk is strong in a swf. It balances it out
But indefinately being exposed without further requisites would be too much in my opinion. I agree though that it needs balancing as in its current state it´s way too strong for basically no downside.
@Peanits would you be so kind to respond and provide info about what the Dev team´s take on this is?

You´re out of luck pal. For the time being we have to deal with crossplay as it is.
Btw which platformare you on? Haven´t encountered any cheaters yet, so I´m curious. I´m on PC (Steam).

noed isnt even a good perk tho lol. I dont run it because of how bad it is. A perk that can be broken in the beginning of the match when its a end game perk yup sounds reasonable
Agreed. I haven´t run it in well over a year except for meme builds.
-
What you´re referring to is commonly known as the smol pp survivor build, usually accompanied with exhaustion perk x and another strong choice like BT, Spine chill or Adrenaline.
It does have counterplay though:
A)Camp the slug/locker and throw the game to spite them or
B)Try as hard as you can to avoid recently unhooked people, no matter how bad/aggressive the survivors play
Noed gets heat because it enables killers to get 1-2 downs that feel undeserved from the survivors pov.

@zyrems said:
Object needs a rework to where if you run object of obsession your are exposed for the entire match. Then people would think twice about running it
I feel this would be just a little bit too much though.

Not calling for Survivor nerfs. What I am saying is there needs to be better leniency for the Killers side.
I understand your desire. The leniency varies between killers too btw.
For example, your comeback options as say, clown are basically nonexistent, whereas a good nurse can be threatening throughout the match.
It can be rough in the fog. Just embrace the more challenging role as what it is ( not saying survivor doesnt take skill, I´ve seen amazing ones, bad ones and everything in between).
-
I take from your post that you are relatively new to the game. My apologies if I am mistaken here.
When you see someone running OoO you should consider them being in a swf group. Meaning the object user will tell the rest of the team which killer you chose, where you are and what you´re doing at all times.
This puts you at a massive disadvantage and unless you play Killers like Spirit or Nurse ( since both have lethality and mobility) you have no reasonable option to counter this.
Many people resort to hardcore tunneling the Object user out of the game as a form of petty revenge. Will be a city match for everyone involved though.
So yeah, make up your own mind whether you want do DC/Afk, tunnel the object, ignore the object or try to play a normal match where the odds are tremendously stacked against you.
-
Accurate. Yet not exactly breaking news. What is it that you want to accomplish with this post?
-
I think survivors getting slashed or hooked is far more...sexual than killers getting stunned. Worst offenders here would be Claudette, David and sexy Jane.
Couple days a go I was over at a friends place. I was the first to get up (all were hammered) and I had my laptop with me so I figured why not grind on the archives a bit. One after another woke up from all the "sensual screaming", thinking I was onto some really hard porn!
Edit: Imagine someone getting off sounding like clown getting stunned xD
-
Especially for people who got their cast p3 full perks before realising this...like me

The survivor does not have full control at all. Trust me. I've taken out many objects this way. They look around all confused. They try to hide themselves but they don't know when they accidentally revealed themselves because there is no visual for them. The only way they know GF position is if he has stealthed right up to you and you hear him, or he is bad and walking around in the open. You don't know his position while he is stealthed from object. I'm sorry but you sound like you don't know what you are talking about.
Ill give you that...against survivors that look around confused, unable to notice when the perk icon lights up to tell them where the killer is, undetectable really does help.

As a Trapper main myself, I feel like he should start with and having a carrying capacity of 2 because otherwise the bag add-ons will be pretty useless.
Give him 2 traps to start and carry, and make it so traps spawn closer to the middle instead of the furthest possible corner away from me.
Do these and see what happens. He may need more, he may not. I would maybe advocate for grey setting gloves to be base too, but after seeing how the first buff works.
I like that suggestion. I´d also add to that something similar to the old honing stone. As of now, injured survivors don´t get harmed when stepping on a trap. I think adding something like a 50% chance of getting downed after escaping a bear trap while injured would be nice.
Or tremendously increase rescue and escape time while injured before stepping on a trap.

Well to answer your question I haven't heard anything new about it in months. I wouldn't be surprised if all of a sudden it was announced that it was all over. I also wouldn't be surprised if it was still going on.
I don't really want to see Jason because we have the Trapper who is supposed to be like Jason. Uses beartraps, wears a mask, has a machete-esque weapon. And even if they did add him, what would his power be?
And yeah, I know we have Hillbilly and Leatherface, but the only reason we have Hillbilly is because they wanted Leatherface from the beginning, but couldn't get the licensing. We never would've had the Hillbilly if they had been able to get Leatherface sooner.
I get where you´re coming from, but I can only think of a one time use of a bear trap throughout the F13 series (the 2009 reboot). So yeah in the end Jason is a generic Slasher and my guess would be that his power would revolve around his inhuman strength and brutality - even compared to the likes of LF and MM.
I´d still very much appreciate if he made an appearance on DBD since he is undeniably right up there in the Slasher Pantheon with the other icons.

If you happen to have Twitter, Larry Zerner is a show business copyright attorney. He's been following the case from the beginning. He's also provided insights and breakdowns into how the case has progressing. If any settlement is reached he'll definitely go into it.
Thank you! Might get on twitter just for that.

As much as I want to see Jason get teabagged and humiliated, I doubt we will see such a thing anytime's soon. The game starring him as pretty fun and didn't bare the same amount of stress this one did so I hate to see good competition go.
Haven´t tried F13 myself. I agree though that competition is something DBD will profit from in the end. Ideally we´d have it both ways where Jason can keep his own game and starr in DBD at the same time.

I read somewhere that the legal case had been dropped? Perhaps that’s not true though. I’m not sure, I’ll have to do some reading because if that WERE true, there would probably be a lot more people talking about it in the forums.
I´ve also come up with inaccurate, vague or contradictory information, hence I started this post.
You´re propably right though, if F13 became available today for licensing, the forums propably would have to shut down because of overuse.
-
@Cornpopers_Evan said:
To answer your question, not really. The only real good news is that the legal issues could end as soon as tomorrow... OR as late as sometime in the fall. :(
Thank for your reply. I´ve been eagerly awaiting a F13 Chapter for the longest time :)

This is shocking to see. I wonder how this will be adressed. We obviously got a problem when a streamer with thousands of hours gets paired with people playing their VERY FIRST match ever. This can´t be what the Devs intended, can it?

How? When you are undetectable you still get the benefit of seeing their aura but they can no longer see yours. It literally counters objects entire purpose.
In some situations, you´re right. Yet the survivor still has full control of whether or not to reveal himself to the killer. Despite GF I don´t even see anyone being able to actually profit from it, and even in his case it comes with the downside of the survivor knowing GFs position.
-
This is beautiful art! Love it
-
I mostly agree with your points. Starting out in DBD is ROUGH. Still remember grinding all the perks back then and having to start from scratch....
Interesting that even a newer player can point out flaws of the game so accurately. I´m sure it´s not only me who wishes for a massive polishing/optimization campaign to push this game to the next level.
I´d even be content to not get new content for 3-6 months in which all their ressources would be put into solving bug issues and improving consistency and performance.
-
2nd Chance perks get a lot of heat because for the opposing side it can feel so undeserved. Like survivors making a bad save, someone gets slugged, you chase the unhooked, the slug gets up with unbreakable and the guy you´re chasing has stacked DS/UB so u can not do anything meaningful against them. They played poorly yet the Killer is put in a bad spot.
Similar things could be said about noed though. I only really think 2nd chance perks become problematic when stacked. As of now, nothing prevents people to stack DS/UB/DH/X on every survivor, every match.
Don´t get me wrong people are free to use anything within the games rules as they see fit, but man can it feel frustrating at times.

It is to new players.
I agree that new players might percieve it this way. OP will come around eventually and accept it as an integral part of gameplay I hope.
Toxic messagin on the other hand is something the game has been plagued by for the longest time. The only advice I can give on that is to rise above it or just ignore it.
Be ready as you will encounter this quite a lot on your journey to becoming a good killer.
Welcome to DBD! I always enjoy seeing new people around. You should check out some content creators to give you some insights into the gameplay, this game is really rought at the beginning.
-
That would be a great feature, especially considering the amount of perks we have gathered. Neat time saver instead of clicking through pages and pages of perks :D
-
@DminuS said:
worst perk are ds and noed. object isnt broken as them. play nurse or stealthy killers and object will be kinda useless.
ds should be 30sec and noed should be notified after the gens are done so survivors wont take the killer lightly.
I disagree. It´s actually rather rare that I get hit with DS. It´s more common, in my ecperience, to get object people spying on you.
Noed is really a rare perk, or maybe I just got lucky. But this was not about those perks.
Stealth Killers suffer from Objects too. The perk icon will light up, telling the Object user in which direction the Killer is. As someone said before, it´s a Premonition without CD.
-
I once faced a lobby with four Dwelfes. I decided to have a little fun with them and went with Santa Clown. It was hillarious because they pulled off some crazy locker shannigans, emotings and stuff :D
Great after game chat
-
Love the Character, but unfortunately the way his basekit is structured it is too much of a hindrance at the beginning to justify the trade-off power bursts. His addons should be revisited too.

yeah it's miserable experiences even when you win unfortunately. And yet we still survivors defending swf to the grave, while wanting ebony mori either rendered useless or impossible to use if not removed completely. even knowing,t hat once the mmr is fixed and kilelrs hit their eventual ceiling... that they will never face potato groups ever again. it's like they Want the game to die, just so that they can blame it on killers for not wanting to play any more.
These are some valid concers, but we shall see how that will play out in the future.
By the way, I´d also defend swf as a feature. I could imagine that being able to play with friends is basically an essential feature in multiplayer pvp games.
Regarding DBD it causes several rather severe balance issues though. I hope it will get adressed in a way that is acceptable to the playerbase, Survivor Mains, Killer mains, and everything in between.
Killer main btw
-
While I´m not entirely sure how to feel about your post I appreciate "mains" putting time into the other side - it gives a better understanding of the game and the experience of other players in general.
It was the opposite for me. Hardcore Killer main until the archives came along. I can sympathise more with the survior players now and I feel it gave me a better grasp on objective balancing.

@SocialDistomancy said:
What you've seen, is an increasing number of object-abusing swf groups in your lobbies. There are the rare solo players using it, and of course new players sometimes do it without knowing it'll get them killed and there are those with achievement hunting but usually if you recognize object tunnel them out of the game if you couldn't find anybody else since chances are they're on voip telling the scrubs they're playing with where you are, what you'r doing and where your traps are if using those. In that case, camp them, don't chase any bait coming near the hook, be prepared to slug them after being unhooked to avoid ds, and slug everybody else while you count the 60 seconds off and then hook camp them again while leaving the others slugged around there. Then play normally from there if one or more others don't rage quit. That's how you deal with object besides staring into the sky facing a corner away from gens and exit gates.
Thanks for the advice. I´ve done that many, many times, but in the end it´s a sucky match anyway.
It´s also only as of recently that I´ve had more of those matches, but for soon to be 2 years I´ve seen it time and again, just not as frequently.
-
After getting BBQ from Bubba, as others have stated either Myers or the Plague. Both are good killers and their perks are used on a variety of Killers/Builds.
-
Understandable. On the other hand, if you encounter it THAT frequently it might be better to try and get to the bottom of this, then start chasin and slashin again ;-)

Their are plenty of perks that allow the killers to see all 4 of the survivors auras under certain circumstances.
I just don't think OoO is as OP as your making it.
While I acknowledge that your opinion differs from mine I would prefer to keep whataboutism ouf of this if possible. This is not meant in an offensive way, but I´ve seen too many discussion lead astray on this forum by it.
I stand by my point though. It´s far too strong for far too low of a cost and it is (in my opinion) completely gamebreaking when used by swf.
-
This was a known bug not too long ago. I was under the impression that they fixed it as I haven´t encountered it after my last break from the game.
If you encounter this bug often, I advice you to give some detailed feedback to the Devs to help them replicate and indentify the bug.
-
Not exactly a true fan of this particular franchise, but I admit he could work in DBD. What excites me are the possibilities regarding map design. An Urban map (without those looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong fences from Haddonfield)? Count me in!

I think you're overthinking it. If the killer's coming toward you and you see which direction, it's really not that big of a deal. You'd get the same outcome using Spine Chill, which is the survivors taking off.
You got a point there, although I don´t exactly appreciate having another perk negating a stealthy approach.
-
@Folklore said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1523764#Comment_1523764
It doesn't, though? It tells you what general direction they're in but nothing else. It's basically reverse Spine Chill at that point.
Unlike spinechill it tells you from which direction the undetectable killer is approaching though. People who have a certain amount of experience under their belt should be able to tell if the killer is coming or doing something else in most circumstances.
-
You have the option to troll, to dc, to afk or to play "man with machete/cleaver". realistically you stand no chance unless the survivors are relatively new to the game.
-
Survivor: David King. I got my friends back no matter what, plus a somewhat similar life story.
Killer: Ghostface, as I also like to remain undetected use aliases while pursuing certain activities.
-
Great Stuff!! It shows you were motivated.
-
@Shivadeathkiss said:
I dont use the perk myself, but think its fine. The killer and survivor both see each others auras when looking at each other.
Seems fair to me. But I don't use it and don't run into it too often when I play killer.
That´s not exactly right afaik. Only the survivor has the option to revel the killer and hence himself whereas the killer can not do that.
-
@cyniChris said:
So does that mean Wraith needs a John Cena outfit?
Oh don´t get me wrong I´d love a WWE skin series for DBD^^ But Wraith would need a buff for us not being able to see him!
-
I don´t think a full rework is needed. He DOES need buffs though. EW1 is too much of a hindrance, certain aspects of the Stalk mechanic feel outdated and hes outshined in every of his core aspects by other killers. Stealth? GF and Pig got it better. Stalk? GF can do it faster without the unnecessary range punishments. Snowball? Admittedly decent if the survivors aren´t particularly skilled, outshined by serveral Killers.
I love Myers, as he´s been a major reason I got into the game. Still play him at Rank 1 (ye I dropped rank...I know it doesn´t really matter) but he takes so much more effort for so low of a reward, it´s disappointing.
-
@TerminatorGuy said:
I feel like the Undertaker would fit Deathslinger the most. He kinda looks like him
Just the hat though. On the other hand the death slinger looks like he weighed a third of him and could lift a tenth.
-
Yes, the CD should get shortened. To balance that out a bit the recovery addons should be nerfed accordingly.
-
I´m sorry you had such a devastatingly bad streak, and I feel where your frusttration is coming from. By now it´s common knowledge that the toxicity in DBD can at times reach extreme levels (although as of recently I felt it had gotten better).
Punishing people for playing with their friends is not the way though. Keep in mind that the vast majority of players are potato-ish at best, these people would get destroyed left and right.
It´s unfortunate that only a very select few killers are given the tools to deal with skilled swf players. I´m on board with that many people on this forum have suggested (sorry for sounding like a broken record, but I feel that´s a trend on here anyways): Buff Information given to solos closer to people using third party software to enhance their gameplay, then dish out major buffs to all but the best killers.
But heed my warning: I feel the need to express a concern. Looking back at the twists and turns this game has taken we have reached some kind of breaking point in my opinion. In many matches I feel bad for the survivors when they just get steamrolled and have almost nothing left to work with after a short time. So if changes to balance are coming, tread carefully as to not wreck survivors entirely.
Killer main btw
-
One does not simply walk into Bubbas realm
-
Someone suggested Otz, a great and wholesome guy but for this particular request he doesnt fit too well since he does swear a fair amount. Same goes for Tofu.
I might be wrong but last time I checked I think Fungoose tried to avoid swearing, maybe check himout.
-
Short answer : You can´t if they´re skilled players.
Long answer: Play as efficient as possible and use everything at your disposal. This includes approaches that are frowned upon by entitled players, like massive slugging and patrolling. Get someone out of the game asap.
Unfortunately, depending on the killer you play, even if you perform really really well, they will kick your behind as long as they stack enough 2nd chance perks and possibly OoO ( I hate this perk more than anything in this game, it´s total BS).
So yeah try to improve where you can but dont expect the results to be too rewarding.
-
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I am already with these approaches.
Yet with skilled survivors on the aforementioned specific tile I continously fail to replicate these results since the vault is near guaranteed to get predicted. Usually they will keep running either way to the pallet, rinse and repeat.
-
Trapper would be fitting for me, or at least before I had to take a break from sport. I´m scaringly leaning more to Clown rn xD
