I don't think much would change unless you disabled certain things in casual. A lot of other games have all the sweatlords invade the casual mode regardless for easier games.

Lol, are you assuming things now? I quoted to everyone on this post equally.
"The point of bringing up the tournament was to show you that good players vs good players Spirit isn't so easy. Everybody had a shot at playing Spirit and for the most part she didn't perform that well."
Thing is, they're not GOOD players, they're the 1%, and we should never care about the 1% cause this isn't a tournament game. And most spirits got owned cause they were playing trash, one of them bring a endgame build on a tournament lol, that already speaks for itself.
"Only survivors had perk limitations, imagine how much harder it would have been for Spirit if they didn't have limits on survivor perks."
And killers had a score system they should follow if they wanted to win the 15k prize, a killer in a public match is never going to play like those torunament killer did (they're not going to follow a score system cause you can play how you want in a public match)
Finally I bring up the tournament because DBD isn't actually a high skill game. Just rush gens and try not to go down. That's it, anyone can imitate that and there are thousands of players on the game with thousands of hours playtime, I see them every game. Red ranks are full of them. The tournament here is a reflection of the better red rank players. Sure maybe swf won't leave people to die at endgame but that's about the one exception. Killers camping and tunneling, survivors rushing gens....yeah that's DBD public matches. Nothing unique about the tournament which means we can't apply it here.
Nothing unique? Oh yeah, that people will sweat their asses of cause there are 15,000 dollars on the line, and yeah nothing unique just 6k hours people playing against each other, 6k hours killers/survivors are really common in red ranks, sure lol.
You contradict yourself there. You say they were sweating their butts off and say they're the top 1% then go on to say they were trash and brought meme builds. Which is it?
I see a fair few 6k+ hours players. Not everyone in the tourney had that many, 3k-6k hours is on the same level as many of those people and those are common on EU servers.
I see people all the time that could play just as well as any of them. Hell people were overrating the hell out of Ayrun and guess what? I've played with him and he's not that impressive at all when you're not watching a heavily edited youtube highlight video. I see plenty of survivors with more brains than him.

Yesterday I had both totems gone in less than a minute. It was an Autohaven and Undying was in the middle of nowhere and Ruin was next to a gen. After that I went back to Discordance/Pop
Yeah the combo has quickly lost its strength now that survivors have adapted. It's also not suitable for every killer or playstyle.

If you CAN prove that they are cheating by using things they are not supposed to be, YES you stay in, play the game and REPORT them afterwords. If you are driving and the speed limit is 55, and someone zooms by you at 80 mph (or equivalent KPH) do you ramp your speed up to 80 and claim that you shouldn't get a ticket because someone else broke the rules? do you have a dress code at work where it says no tennis shoes, and someone breaks that rule and wears tennis shoes, do you come in the next day wearing tennis shoes and claim so and so broke the rule yesterday so I'm wearing them today and I should not be penalized for them? in professional basket ball does one player who physically fouls another give the other players the green light to do the same without consequences?
here are three examples, one legal, one job related and one a GAME where if one cheats and breaks the rules you still get penalized if you then start breaking the rules. You asked if I'd continue to play a game were people were cheating and lag switching and the answer is YES. here is why. I want blood points, also I challenge myself to see what i can do. three instances of me staying in a match when others are breaking the rules: 1) I saw on bbq someone go up the first flight of steps in the basement and then poof right through the wall and under the world. they then popped up above ground away from the basement in the killer shack. I kept playing, and that player was hard to catch but I did! I got them again because they weren't paying attention and got their second hook. then after the match they claimed it bugged out which I called bull crap. 2) I was playing against cross-play (suspect console) and this one player looked to my right, shined their flashlight that way (90 degress from me) and I got blinded. this happened a few times before and after I realized it. I reported the one I caught doing it. I still got a 4K on that match. 3) next match people were doing the same thing intentionally looking 90 degrees from me and shinning their flash light (again cross-play, suspect console) but I didn't fall for it once, I still got a 4K There are 3 instances people were cheating or breaking the rules and I stayed in the match.
It is NOT a pass to stay in a match and the video you clipped, I had seen before and did TRU quit the game? NO he did not he went till the match ended. he went and got their profiles in order to report their arse to behavior AND steam.

unfortunately because of the rampant disconnect in order to get control over it those that legitimately get disconnected get a penality because they are using it in an automatic penalty. you can not see the difference between someone pulling their network cable or telling windows to disconnect from the net work or other program to do that, from a natural dc. it is unfortunate but it has to be that way till there is a way for them to re-evaluate disconnects (you can submit tickets even when you can't play a game) and have them look at the network captures and see what is there. If people had not abused this feature there would not be any issue. personally I'll take removing the leave match functionality and no dc penalty. why? because if that functionality is not there all that is left is having to restart your game, network connection, replugging in your network cable and then you get back in.
Are we really comparing DBD to driving over the speed limit?
One endangers lives the other is just a videogame. Great comparison.

lol you got outplayed by the 4%
I did exaggerate a little to be fair, but you've always talked about how Ghostie is too oppressive. He's a mid-tier killer who has to to chase normally with no map pressure and his gimmick is pretty much negated by Spine Chill lol.
I don't like how Ghostface works, but I don't have an issue with Spirit or PH who are arguable stronger. It's not a power thing I just don't like the mechanics of Ghostface.
He's quite like old Freddy, the things that make him fun to play as make him not so fun to play against. Hence why I describe him as "cheap".

Why do you bring tournaments to the table?
I can easily tell you when you complain about survivors "play like a tournament killer, play like otz" So stop it.
And tournaments have rules, you can't use X perks or stack Y item, so why do you bring tournaments to the table when we're talking about normal games (public matches) when anyone can play how they want?
And btw tournament survivors / killers are the 1%, and devs are never going to balance around the 1% AND if they ever did im sure you and I are ######### cause you and I know we're not the 1%, so stop with your lies.
"I also find it funny when people say this considering when I play killer survivors often Sprint burst to nearest god window, run around it 3 times, hold w to safe pallet, hold w to safe pallet, hold w to god pallet, hold w as long as possible to delay the hit. Yeah survivor is the pinnacle of skill."
Oh yeah, I also find it funny too when killers says all you have to do as a survivor is hold W (only cause their fav streamer said it, it should magically be true!)
The fun fact is, they're the one that uses stridor spirit with ebony mori on a killer sided map, and then camp and tunnel, just stand still and get the free win!
See how it goes both ways clicky? Maybe stop with your bias now, it was fun to debunk your trash argument.
You know for someone supposedly new to the forum you sure do seem to have a grudge against me. Interesting...

The difference is, Moris are actually unbalanced and unfair for this game, kobing isn't.
See I’d actually argue the kobe is unfair and unbalanced when it works. It’s literally a self-unhook no perk slot required lol

Ghost Face and 4%-ing are the most OP things in the game, apparently.
Imagine face camping someone one their first hook because they have a 4% chance to escape.
Here we go. Digging up posts and twisting the narrative.
I did not say Ghostface was the most OP killer in the game. I did not even say he was OP. The thread was something like “which killers do you hate the most” and I gave an answer and a reason. Old Freddy wasn’t OP in the slightest but there was a number of things that made people hate playing against him.
Secondly I don’t facecamp on first hook but the amount of times a game has dragged on a few more minutes, a survivor got a free escape, or in some cases they actually managed to mount a little bit of a comeback from a kobe is getting insane. Might as well confirm the kill in some situations if time permits it.
-
I still find it hard to believe the 4%
Show me the lines of code.
IF_killer=‘ClickyClicky’ THEN escapechance=20%
That’s it. That’s what it says in the code.

The easiest is undoubtedly Freddy. However, even with several factors playing against her, Spirit is still easy to at least 1K with.
You can 1k with any killer if you just tunnel them off hook.
-
Well it could open the exit gates automatically and have them blocked. If the survivors have 99’d the gates then you aren’t losing much.
It could do the above only if the gates have more than 50% progress, or work as normal if they have less than that. This stops survivors instantly opening the gates once they are safe.
Alternatively it could apply early and just have the vines cover the exit gate switch for 60 seconds if the gates aren’t already open. This would kind of make Remember Me redundant though, but then nobody seems to care about that perk anymore.
Problem with all these though is it would likely lead to a lot of crutch Bloodwarden/NOED builds. Especially by the campy killers.

m1 killer maybe but when u have a killer who has any form of mobility, its a completely different story. Gen at 70? Just travel there and its not being done anytime soon. The regression speed is so fast that it does more than a pop would do if you chase the survivor who was on the popped gen, hook them and then they come back. But you don't even have to work for ruin undying. I would be happy if you had to activate it by doing something say hooking a survivor or travelling somewhere but the fact is that you get insane amounts of gen pressure for free. Killers who run it basically dont even need to learn how to pressure gens etc, they just need to travel to a gen everytime tinkerer pops and watch it regress. It's like the way old legion rendered learning how to counter survivors in chase useless, and how old ds made survivors not care if they went down or not.
Yes you could say that you just need to remove the totems but the problem is by the time that's done you've probably already lost the game unless you've gotten insanely lucky with totem rng and found both totems at once. Also you've got to be destroying these totems WHILST every other part of the game is going on and the killer is constantly pressuring/downing you and forcing you off the gens and totems.
As a killer main, i find that i hardly ever have any problems with ds unbreakble because you can play around it. If they start playing agressive and come at you, just down them and that leaves them useless until they unbreakable and chances are it'll draw people off of gens to go for the pickups. Yes you might not be able to hook them but does it really matter if they aren't doing anything? I would rather have someone with unbreakable ds on the floor than someone without it sitting on gens. I also rarely ever run into people i've just hooked because i'm off pressuring other parts of the map and downing other survivors. Idk maybe you've had difference experiences but this is what i often find, even when i vs good survivors.
Mobility like Blight?
https://youtu.be/NaXo13Ab1IsGame starts at 21 seconds, both totems gone by 1:25. That’s 1 minute and 4 seconds into the game and both totems are gone.
I’m not using Jund as an example because “oh a streamer said it so it must be true”, I’m using this because I don’t record my own games but this is what is happening to me frequently now.
Survivors stopped caring about totems after the Ruin nerf and the first week this combo was very effective. Now however they are seeing totems as a priority and I see survivors rushing to cleanse dull totems at the start of a trial. Previously only Inner Strength users and gen shy Claudettes did this but now almost everyone is doing it.
Survivors have adapted and honesty I don’t think the combo is so good anymore. I’ve stopped taking it on a number of killers because of examples like the video above. Having 2 perks taken out about 2 minutes into the game isn’t very effective. Nobody wants to spend all game defending the totems either when gens are the more crucial threat.
-
If you just got the game don’t worry. This is a 2 year+ grind and one day wont make a difference. At least Discordance is a good teachable to unlock from Legion.
For people saying he should be against rank 20s.....do you not remember your early time with the game? I played maybe 3-5 games stomping people and thinking I was king until it started consistently putting me against far more experienced swf who I couldn’t catch and would flashlight blind me anytime I tried to pick someone up. I actually started to dodge characters with certain cosmetics 😂 used to get Nea and Meg mixed up back then but I think the sporty looking megs and schoolgirl Fengs were an instadodge for me.
-
This is why I quit playing solo survivor too. Playtime DOES matter.
When I play killer it’s mostly 2,500 - 6,500 hour survivors. Very rare to see anyone with less than 2k.
Meanwhile when I play survivor it’s mostly 150-300 hour survivors, very rare to see anyone with close to or more than 1k.
It’s that discrepancy that makes people feel so tilted. You get the tryhards when you play killer and the rookies when you play survivor. If I got tryhard survivors as killer and survivor then I wouldn’t be fussed, but giving the worst case in every scenario feels unfair.

No. You successfully pressed E at the right moment.
That is having 1. a good connection and 2. a good reaction, not outplaying the killer. Outplaying the killer is i.e. winning a mindgame.
No man tapping E to add extra distance and i-frames is totally outplaying the killer.
Pressing the E key is a skill that only the most skillful of players can master.

Ds, Ub, Dh and Adre don't give you esay wins. Because Ds is only working If he is tunniling, Ub only against slug, Dh reward the survivor for a good play. And Adre Reward you for doing Gens.
But Ruin, undying, Tinkerer is just unfair and boring.
Oh the irony.
If you chase a survivor off a gen with a lot of progress on it, hook them, another survivor runs along for the instafarm with BT....you now have no way of stopping or even delaying that survivor from finishing the gen. You gotta hit them through BT firstly but even if you chase them you can’t hook them due to DS and you can’t slug them due to Unbreakable. You have to just surrender the generator to the survivor.
You cant hook survivors with DS but you cant slug them with unbreakable. You basically have no way of slowing the game down. You dont even need the self-pick-up from Unbreakable, the recovery speed alone makes slugging for pressure unviable against a full team with the perk.
Undying/Ruin/Tinkerer definitely isn’t an instant win. Survivors are making totems a priority again and now those totems are gone within a few minutes.
3 or 4 x DH, DS, Unbreakable is far stronger than Undying/Ruin/Tinekrer. Especially against an M1 killer.
-
There was a number of problems with the balance patch. Bad ideas or only temporary solutions that won’t leave people happy longterm.
It was disappointing to see Otz put something forth like that with his name attached.
Also Undying shouldn’t completely be stripped of the aura reading. It needs a little extra something. It goes first in almost every game for me so its not really worth the perk slot just for the 50/50 alone.

no one should have to suffer through matches they can't do anything or even come close to winning because someone just clicks I'm a leaving this match for some abritrary reason when the RULES state you are not to leave the match except via the exit gates/hatch/being sac'd. Play the game according to the rules or ATLEAST accept you get penalized for breaking the rules
The rules are there to keep the game fair. I’m pretty certain they become null and void once one side breaks them by actually cheating.
I disconnected vs survivors using the lagswitch exploit so they couldn’t be picked up. Tell me why am I meant to stay in that game? When one side is cheating so that I can’t progress with my objective? Out of “good sportsmanship”? Vs people exploiting with a lagswitch lmfao
Are you honestly telling me you would stay in a game like this?
https://youtu.be/JeyxNC2ffLw -
What would be the point in taking it over Unbreakable then? It would be Unbreakable but slower and only works if a Hex is active. The endurance effect wouldnt compensate for that.

-
You can 4k with no effort he says....as if no Spirit has ever had a hard time against good players. Did you not see a recent tournament where Spirit got her butt handed to her consistently by a good team no matter who was playing the killer?
I also find it funny when people say this considering when I play killer survivors often Sprint burst to nearest god window, run around it 3 times, hold w to safe pallet, hold w to safe pallet, hold w to god pallet, hold w as long as possible to delay the hit. Yeah survivor is the pinnacle of skill.

People disconnected before, and the ones that were deterred by the penalty only gave up on hook anyway.
-
Hopefully it won’t return until they update their anti-cheat. Nobody should be forced to stay in game with cheaters or suffer a 5 minute time out.
-
Looks like one of those situations I read about recently. What did they call it? Something like “lose/lose”. Doesn’t look like there is much counterplay there either.
Anyway cool discussion but can we get back to more important business? Like nerfing killers that create lose/lose situations and have no counterplay?

Still kinda new to the game, but isn't Unbreakable only used once per match? I'd just slug them again, and that perk would be an empty slot.
35% recovery speed increase. If the team is co-ordinated or good solos trust me this eats into slugging potential massively if a few of them have it.
-

All you can do is reflect on what you could have realistically done different, what would be a better build to stop it happening again, and also acknowledging the limitations of your killer.

If you have to ask if something is toxic then chances are it is toxic. Also in what world do you live where Deliverance is more common than Unbreakable??

I'd like to know who is solo and who used which offerings too. That way I don't need to go HAM on the solo as punishment for the swf using the Ormond/Coldwind offering. At the moment I'm having to punish the whole team by playing in not so nice ways.

I just gave a counter point just to say that yes some of us think the changes were justified. Any hugs relating to him obviously need fixing though.

-
It’s subjective. I don’t mind Spirit (apart from her overuse) or PH.
So for me...
Ghostface - Fix the reveal. There’s a risk to trying to reveal him, if he walks past a tree it cancels the whole reveal and gives him your location. So I’d add more of a reward and have it reset your personal stalk progress. Also have him make more noise when he’s closer. Not as blatant as it was when he first went live but a little bit more of a heads up than he has now.
Legion - Full rework. Either make his power more interactive or go down the Plague route, make his power injure over time rather than instantly and give survivors a faster way to heal in return for Legion getting a new power.
Deathslinger needs a real terror radius.
-
HG exposes them and respawns

Exactly, but that's the point of having limited perk slots: players have to choose what effects they wants. You want to get notified? Get thrill. You want your ruin to be sent to another totem? Get undying. But now you get "almost" notified with undying too
Thrill isnt just the notification, its the slowdown as well. Heck theres even a points bonus.
Why should Undying be just a one trick pony? If that was the case it would be worthless solo and it’s utterly useless if it gets taken out first. Its a totem defence perk.
-
I hated playing against Billy and I think he could be more oppressive than any of the other killers you mentioned. Often it only took one survivor mistake or one bad looper to doom the game against a Billy. Having unlimited sprint and instadowns does that.
-
But how am I meant to get the killers attention and annoy the killer if you stop flashlight clicking? Sure there’s tbagging but they have to look in your direction for that to work and it hinders you.
-
I get they don’t want Ultra rare add ons to be as powerful as they were back in the day but I have to say over the last year a lot haven’t been worth ultra rare status at all. So gimmicky or situational that it’s better to just take the green.
I don’t see why this couldn’t just show the aura of all non-caged survivors from 32m away from you.
-
The whole beef around Huntress does often seen to come down to survivors feeling entitled to press E to invalidate her hatchet throws.
DH is essentially a third health state against Huntress. It’s one more hatchet you need to throw. A good survivor won’t waste the DH until the hatchet leaves your hand.
You can try to bait it out but this puts the power in the survivors hand and has you relying on them for a mistake. Thats if you’re in an open area too, a lot of times with Huntress you only have a very small window to make the shot before the survivor goes behind an obstacle in which case you just gotta throw.
Some perks just aren’t good against certain killers. Iron will vs Plague, self-care vs Legion, Object of obsession vs stealth killers etc Dead Hard vs Huntress with specific add ons is one of them. It always seems to be the strongest perks that create that feeling of entitlement.
-
@nursewannabe said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1668824#Comment_1668824
Because you have to give up 3 perk slots instead of 2 for an effect that you already somehow have. 6 seconds of aura reveal are a lot.
Bear in mind that I don't want limited undying uses or if undying is cleansed - > the other hex totems that were already cleansed once lose their hex status again, like others proposed.
I just think that the aura reveal is making an already niche perk even more useless
Giving up 3 perk slots just to keep Ruin is not worth it. Even a 2 man swf can shred those totems pretty fast and then you’re a 1 perk killer for the rest of the trial.
-
Because people want him to have masses and masses of counterplay while they have relatively none because that’s balanced in their eyes.
-
@nursewannabe said:
The combo is fine. What is not fine is the aura reading ability, which not only makes thrill of the hunt completely useless, but on high mobility killers makes the perk absolutely unfair, especially in solo queue.
The aura reveal needs to go
How does it make Thrill worthless? Thrill still gives you a notification and its easier to notice it due to the audio whereas you can miss a silent aura if you’re looking in the wrong direction. 6 seconds, 6 seconds of looking in any other direction and you miss it. Plus Thrill buys you more time to interrupt the totems.
-
The first week the Ruin totem was often up until the end of the trial. Now it’s gone very early.
There’s no doubt survivors have adapted. With old Ruin the totem was gone in 30 seconds. When it got nerfed survivors stopped caring about totems and also new totem spots were created.
After a few weeks of Undying/Ruin survivors are treating totems as a priority again and they’ve been learning the totem spots after cleansing so many. Right off the bat I see people running to dull totems which is something only inner strength users and Blendettes did before.
As for the aura reading for the most part survivors are doing this when I’m too far away or in a chase. The killer can’t be everywhere at once. Maybe it sucks vs Hillbilly or a windstorm wraith, probably GF too if he’s close but against your standard killers its easy enough to cleanse totems.
-
Imo her only problematic add on is Iri Heads and that’s only if combined with the infantry belt.
I really hope they let her keep the exhaustion add ons but I know they won’t due to all the survivor complaints. Any skillful shot you make just gets ignored with a tap of the E button otherwise. Really takes the fun out of playing her.
-
That’s DBD in a nutshell. Killers hard tunnel the rookie out and then act like the survivors are the bad guys when they tbag at the end.
Survivors bring OoO, Ormond/coldwind offerings and act toxic and then act like the killer is the bad guy when he starts to play scummy in return.
Both sides are full of hypocrites.
