It's incredibly unfair for the killer though. If there's 4 gens up and a survivor kills themselves on hook then it's basically as if the game just started again but with 1 less gen. God forbid there's a bunch of progress on multiple other gens, it's a lost game already for the killer. Just a terrible idea all around.
i disagree. If you’re looking at the game where it’s like Freddy on Haddonfield and the Freddy tunneled a player and they got mad so they decided to go next on hook, I would still say that Freddy on Haddonfield is a necessary sacrifice for the entirety of the game. The players who see that it’s a Knight and insta go next at 5gens that needs to be combated… there’s ways to make it work.

If a survivor dies at 4-5 gens, even if the killer tunneled them, the survivors played poorly. Why should the killer be punished for that?
it would combat players offing themselves on hook because “they don’t like a certain killer” or they want to avoid the penalty to join a SWF.. imo there’s more positives to BHVR adding a system like this then negatives.
-
They need to make a mechanic such as covenants/cults where if a player dies on hook at 4-5 gens (so 3v1 at 4-5gens left) another player will spawn in. That would combat and add an overall more enjoyable experience for mainly solo Q. This would not be OP against the killer since it would still be the start of the game. This would also combat that hardcore tunnel at 4-5 gens. And rather then just implement more endurance or more crazy things etc.. this would be overall the better way to go.
-
the player base is way to large to offer trades like this anymore. Maybe if it was 2016-2017

About the absurd argument. Why do killers use weapons and hooks? It should be a modified game of tag so we don't exclude young audience /s
Full accessibility does not take precedense over everything. If fixing accessibility ruins the game, then maybe the game should not be friendly to fully blind or fully deaf people. If there is an easy fix - say perk that gives advantage together with fixing accessibility issue - say spine chill, then provide that perk as an option for everyone. But please don't make it basekit for every player.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3278678#Comment_3278678
Sure and existance of boons is buff to a killer as survivors spend less time on gens. By this logic we should probably make basekit CoH for everyone and call it a win win.
You know that extended FOV is much better benefit then hindrance. Why are you even trying to sell it as survivor buff?
It's a flashlight buff which is needed imo, the addons should be updated as well. shadowborn is not a strong perk mainly because it's just the accessibility feature for this games killer FOV which is sad.
awhile back I suggested already that this game should have a 5th slot for hexes and boons. but CoH being basekit is far more extreme then having shadowborn taking it's rightful place as a slide in the settings since one does nothing and the other gives unlimited heals until the killer finds it and there could be four.... if you'd suggested Bond or something similar to being basekit for survivor i'd agree 100%

Sure. It's qol. I want qol for survivors too. It's qol to make them basekit have 5% more speed. /s
No my man. QOL is not a buff. QOL is something that is independent of strength, but makes playing it feel better. This would be buff.
it's be a buff to survivor for flashlight blinds.... more FOV for the killer means more angles for survivor..it'd be win win, you won't window tech or 360 a killer that knows what's going on anyway and a killer that's lesser experienced is going to be spending days getting 360 with or without shadowborn.

While it would be really cool and coherent with the addon name, I don't think it would be that good an idea. Imagine having someone you'd 99'd be exposed when you're on the other side of the map ! That'd be so frustrating. xD
Indeed... but this is why discussions must be had :)

Solo que has always been garbage.. from 2016-now nothing has really changed in that regard
-
Solo que has always been garbage.. that’s why when I read these “solo is now dead” I shake my head… solo que will never die… BHVR knows that solo has to be brought closer to SWF, so what actually did they do wrong with solo? They did so many good things for killer and they took mjnolir to the meta perks which is amazing..

I hate this whole wait a few days arguyment, you really think people partake in this forums when they play 3 matches a day? i was saying new map was surv sided and bs from the start and guess what people told me?! guess what the truth was?! there is no need to wait to know solo q is gonna be harder, its the easiest and most logical assumption and its just gonna be proven true as it already is. do i care? not really, but there is no point in telling people to wait when its not like its a new killer like deathslinger. (yeah he sucks he is slow and his ability sucks) fast forward and slinger has an oppresive chase just as bad as spirit and forward a year or more and he gets nerfed but still has slight quickscope. like i understand waiting but this mechanic is straightforward
To be fair you're comparing a map to the change of the meta. it takes time finding the playstyle you like, making a build etc... it doesn't take much to notice that certain jungle gyms next too each other can be stupid powerful for survivors.

Had a nurse eat my decisive and was instantly downed because I didn't have enough time to go anywhere
That happened anyways when it was 5 seconds.... does the idea of running 2 more seconds matter all that much?

but the thing is a player using one of his player option removes the option of other players that shouldnt be right and also dont forget that survivors are getting punished by getting tunneled (which is something that doesnt make any sense)

When it comes too PVP thats exactly what a dev team should want... especially when it comes to the chase...

if it makes other not being able to play the yeah they shouldnt
Removing player options should never be the answer for a dev team. doing so causes the game to go stale/frustrates the player more because of the lack of options they have in the game
-
So the players of the game should not have a choice in which they play their game?

If you're getting "downed" from the tinkerer killers you may need a training wheel yourself..... I suggest Spine Chill, that will give you the brief moment to run and make it to one of the many pallet tiles. There is always an answer on the survivors side.
-
It's near enough the same as PC.. it can be a bit more difficult to land in the open hits or "shoulder flicks" but other then that you can still go for some crazy plays like on PC.
-
They do not give a direct advantage to the killer. The techs open up more fun mind games that are more difficult to achieve rather then "bounce until guaranteed hit"

so nerf swf then
punish players for playing with friends? that's not a good way of attracting new comers and would also push players away.
The best thing for the devs to do and for the game is for them to buff solo up to or as close to SWF as possible and then buff killers to compensate....... NERF is never really a good route to take unless it's called for like the first iteration of mori's or old MoM.
-
best type of main ;)

its not an issue with the hit validation, its an issue with the visual feedback we are getting.
if we never got the scream and blood (but no damage actually being taken) on our screen, then i dont think anyone would complain about it nearly as much as they currently do.
I never said anything was "wrong" with the "validation system" or how it works. The system is far to unpolished, ugly and annoying.... it looks out of sync because it's been released to early. the activation now happens at the press of the button, rather then the start of an animation. That's why pallet drops and DH are as ugly as they are.. Pallet drops would be complained about and will be complained about because it's a big buff to them, DH not so much.

Exploit is an exploit. There is no way all these "techs" were intended by devs. Players are just using killer power design overlook for own advantage and this should be fixed
Blight supposed to be run straight line hard to turn guy, not reverse rush into Quentin in the corner
you are tweaked over a moon rush? arguably the most difficult thing to pull off in DBD... you'd be tweaked if a trapper or billy etc.. body blocked you into an insta-down, even though it's your own fault.

Otz idea to have her flash into view every few seconds was a pretty darn good idea
until you remember that her phase is only 5 seconds.... So there's no point...
-
Shadowborn should be basekit.... tinkerer should operate like the Ace perk that affects aura reading or other perks in some way... shadowborn should be current tinkerer.
In no way should the FOV ever be considered for balance... Players should always be able to play either role and have an enjoyable experience....
-
Try harder next time
-
The best way that I can see to “nerf” the perk is to make it reactionary.. so when the killer swings the survivor must react fast enough to avoid the attack.. this being said I don’t think full exhaustion is warranted, though being able to spam DH throughout the match would be OP so a 30 to potential 25 second exhausted would be better imo

The problem with Blight is the collision with some objects. Ormond for example is atrocious for him since he just slides on every snow pile.
Other than that, he is fine.
heyyy... I like flicking on survivors when they try to hide behind snow piles or try to use certain cars that have no collision as shields as well.
his power is less predictable for sure but when you begin to pick out the objects that don't have collision you can really surprise some survivors with some plays.

I mean, with that logic, we can bring back Omegablink and Iri Heads, because the majority of Killers are really bad at the game.
I used Alchemist Ring when I went for my Adept (I did not get it yet, but I only tried it at Red Ranks so far) and the difference between not having it and running it is huge. And I am certainly not very good with Blight.
The ring is nothing compared to old omega blink and iri head was given a dirty band aide........ reasoning why the ring is nothing compared to the others is it's not a "crutch", Omega blink as difficult as Nurse can be gave the player a crutch because of what the old addons provided for the lesser experienced nurses, iri encouraged camping and a less interesting/risky play style.... ring doesn't do anything if the blight doesn't succeed....... where old omega blink was always there (speed and range boost)
I mainly run the slam duration addons, I'm not the best blight by any means, I go for no slowdown builds and indeed have the Adept and I'm on Ps4... I really like the "you did good, now go do it again" aspect that ring gives.
-
Yes I am.
-
If they botch this Mid-chapter update then I'll be right there with you... Seeing the list of killers for "addon changes" still worries me, if Billy's don't come out with a nice buff and if Blights don't come out as is and there's more nerfs across the board I'm probably going to be watching VHS from afar and then support content creators that play it.... I am tired of the nerfs because players invest time into learning a character and then survivors complain.

I mean, that something is in the game what should have never existed in the first place (Nurse) does not make other things ok. Nurse should be reworked to a completely different power, but her existence does not justify Add-Ons which are too strong.
but it's not too strong... You may be looking at the top point something percent of blights..... in which I say if we can't nerf survivors because it's just a small percentage that are death squads then we shouldn't do it to an even smaller percentage of the community.... because like 80% of blights will land like 3 lethal rushes in a game...
-
@Aven_Fallen said:

The thing is, one counterplay to Blight is to make him use as many Rushes as possible before getting hit. E.g. if you manage to let him use 5 Rushes, you will have some time before he gets them back (since Blight can only use his Power when all Rushes are available). However, Alchemist Ring completely negates that.
IMO it is too strong and I dont really know what they were thinking.
(But, apparently other Blight Add-Ons will get Buffs, e.g. there is a description Change to Summoning Stone (the Add-On which works like Blood Favor), which increases the meters from 12 to 16 and the time vom 6 to 15, but the effect did not change yet).
weve a killer that does the same thing but a bit better because she goes through walls but some how the ring is too strong on a character that bounces off walls?

They need to invest time into better solo player perks, be it for solo survivors or anti swf perks.
Perks like Discordance is a great example of anti swf. Maybe aim at killer perks dedicated to forcing people to stay away from one another. Perks that maybe cause Blindness when near other survivors.
perks are band aide fixes, we need base kit buffs/changes to both solo and killer... and this most likely wont happen without having a portion of the community flipping out because they think "their being punished!!!" when the other 2 ways to play are trash compared too SWF.

8 months… yes it felt good

To answer the title.. YESS!!! It’s no where near as awful as it was prior. It’s more consistent games are great. And it’s less frequent that I get a depip/death squad.. and survivor games are much better as well

It was mentioned in the in-game desciption that survs can use full totems to create boon totems. So i guess if the killer runs 4 Hexes (one of them Haunted) the survs can’t use their boons. Part of the risk of boons.
though of course it could be interesting if they actually reworked some of the game mechanics.
It would be great if we could pick up the totems and replace them.... kind of like Trappers traps for example.
-
The best part is that the content creators kept on saying “the game shouldn’t be balanced for the top %” and that bhvr should balance for the casual part of the community… SBMM is a pretty good change overall in that spectrum..
hopefully they’ll change their minds after some long queues and such.
-
The objective is far too easy too complete even on the most difficult maps.... Solo survivor is... arguably the most difficult to play, I am not going to say "weakest" because the game is still survivor sided. I will state that the game is in it's best state balance wise and lot's has changed but I am hoping the devs eventually incorporate their version of "the start" of a match and maybe incorporate some sort of objective that needs to be completed before gens can be, it can't be too difficult but more work needs to be on the balance side too help the killer out and solo survivor out.
I will say I am still wanting the devs too buff solo and then buff killer... It may be a process for sure but that would be the most rewarding for the devs... I bet the community would have a lot respect for the devs if they went through with buffing solo to then buff killers.

A Lery's Variation for Hawkins would make the Most Sense & would probably look good
Less work would be involved making for a faster conversion then my idea... It would be kinda cool having a different section of the hospital in rotation...
either way I'd like to see something of the sort for Swamp because current Swamp is terrible.

You know that the SBMM is going to adjust as long as you continue to play right?

@GrimoireWeiss said:
Same could be said about killers. I can't really bother keep playing survivor when Ruin+Undying Nurses and Blights find it skillful to 4 man slug and let to bleed out a random solo team.
I'm sure this is a thread for killers that would rather play without the Ruin, UD, Tinkerer meta.... Also Perhaps that slugging nurse, spirit etc... went through something like this OP... they decided they wanted to play a game with clown or legion etc... and are quickly reminded why they shouldn't play these killers....
-
fingers crossed!! Tomorrow SBMM comes in, Pinhead comes in... some awesome perks... I hope that some awesome Optimization comes as well!
