survivor queue times are hot garbage it's like 10 or 15 minutes for both sides

Yeah I noticed, I haven't even touched killer due to the fact it feels 10x worse there. I hope things get better!

    AWWWWW <3

  • The fact you have a Michael profile pic makes it 10x better.

  • Name: Beverly (Or Bev for short)

Role: Survivor. A headstrong diva, uses her acute eye for detail and sass to put a wrench in the killer's efforts.

Appearance: She is very tall and slender with long, blonde hair pulled into a ponytail. She wears a pale pink blouse paired with a black leather jacket, skinny jeans, and kitten heels.

    Perks:

Specific Tastes: Being in the realm of the entity is no excuse for bad fashion! Depending on how many cosmetics the killer is wearing and how rare they are, you will gain tokens that increase point gains in the daring category. (Includes prestige, legacy, and charity case)

"Oh... You're going out in that?"

Exit Stage Right: You know a thing or two about staying quick on your feet from theater. When fast vaulting a window in a chase, the entity will block it for the killer for 2/3/5 seconds. Exit stage right has a cooldown timer of 2 minutes/1 minute/50 seconds and will not recover in a chase.

"Hah! How ya like them apples?"

Beauty Is Pain: When required, you gain a large resistance to physical trauma. Blood trails are slightly/moderately/considerably less visible.

"There's no way I'm letting this blood stain my shirt!"

Hope you guys like it! This is my first time making one of these. I had a lot of fun!

  • I find Freddy super boring as survivor, to be honest. His ability just isn't very fun to counter to me. The whole getting put to sleep/spamming spacebar for a skillcheck gets old pretty quickly. When it comes to playing, I did not enjoy trapper much. The process of placing traps just felt dull and stagnant.

  • @ChesterTheMolester said:

Everyone is playing survivor thinking the coins are faster/easier to get only to slow themselves down massively with these 10 minute queue times.

    The irony is real.

The wait time for survivor has been unusually long, yeah! Even as a solo I get a longer wait than before. Whenever I play a 2-man, it takes a whopping 8-10 minutes to get in. I have no idea why?! For the most part I've been grinding killer unless I have a daily.

  • @ChesterTheMolester said:
I get instant lobbies as a R1 Killer. Its like a miracle.

Please don't change scoring, i take the few games more if it means i can play game to game with virtually zero time between them.

I kinda wish killers got more for playing, but I've had a lot of fun whenever I've tried it. I've been playing spirit and leveling her up, and my rounds have been awesome! The lobby timing has been fantastic on the killer side.

  • Oh boy, I got Feng for survivor! I didn't expect that at all lol.

I got Wraith for killer. I promise I'm not a toxic insidious one, yuck!

  • Up The Ante, Slippery Meat, Balanced Landing, and Self Care has become a fave of mine!

    <font color=#DDADDD>Lol but really, congrats!

EDIT: This comment turned buggy as hell for some reason and I can't fix it sooo yeah..

Believe it or not us console peasants are stuck with Alpha 15 cause of Telltale Games, we dont even have electricity.

I played A17 recently at a buddies house and i overall like it. The skill system replaces books and schematics which kinda sucks IMO. But the new defensive options paired with a better AI makes the zombies finally feel like a threat as you can no longer cheese any horde like before (which is where the complaints come from), they now are more eager to shred your base to pieces and make it collapse when they can't reach the entrance easily.

Not to mention the new vehicles and gun modifications.

What?! That's pretty unbelievable, I'm sorry you guys are getting neglected so badly. I really like some of the new content that is offered, even though it seemed like there was a lot of negative backlash.

I think it's because of how long it's been in the works and how long it takes for them to deliver what they promised, but I'm used to it. I got Project Zomboid back when it was first released on steam, so I'm no stranger to early access titles and how they work, lol.

One thing that I found sorta annoying was digging to the bedrock to avoid hordes. I kinda wish I could build a treehouse with pretty flowers and stuff while allowing it to be viable! Underground bunkers I found to be super time consuming and dull without an auger. I would really like bunkers to not be a necessity!

    7 Days to Die...

I love 7 Days to Die! Is it worth trying with the new build? I've been taking a hiatus.

  • I play a P3 Laurie, and it honestly depends on the day. Strangely enough, killers in my experience have dodged more when they see fancy cosmetics than they do prestiges. It mostly depends on whether or not my team looks sweaty/decked out in gear. Also, items play a big part of it. If they see more than two people with flashlights, they'll most likely leave.

  • I love getting exposed to new music, regardless of the genre!

  • I agree, I think adding voice coms would not work out very well. Not just from a technical standpoint, but also from a community standpoint. Giving people the ability to share their thoughts I feel like would spread more toxicity. Plus, any game that requires mics I usually get harassed in and it really dampens the experience.

I think the only problem with what you suggested is that I feel no killer would purposefully go against a SWF group if it can be prevented. Especially if it holds no benefit over going against solo survivors.

  • I do think that a big part of it not being worth it is the notification being given before a survivor has been unhooked. Even then, I don't have much of a problem with the silent skill checks since I'm a filthy generator warrior. However, I feel like there's not much of a good answer since it's a brutal perk for new players to deal with and a wasted perk slot against veterans. It feels like another one of those stagnant perks that probably wont ever be touched.

  • It's pretty high risk low reward. A few extra bloodpoints are fine, but there's no guarantee you'll live long enough/kill enough to profit.

As far as map offerings go, I see no point unless you have a VERRYYY specific build. I get where you're coming from. It can be disappointing when you want to test something only to have someone else send you to coldwind and completely cancel out your attempt. Other than that, I've learned all the maps fairly well and couldn't care less where I go. Unless it's the game, yuck!

Wards and hook offerings are also sorta meh. Extra/less hooks don't really change much for me. Luck offerings, well... I don't think I need to explain why they aren't the best idea. Currently point/mori offerings seem to be the only viable thing for me to bring into games. Even then, who knows? What if the killer/survivors dc? What if your game crashes?

I feel some things about it need to be changed, but I can't necessarily say what... It's not as clear cut as I'd like to believe. I could also say the exact same things for items.

  • I don't think it's entirely useless. I experimented with it while leveling Jake, and it did give some useful info that helped me navigate the map while staying safe. I think it's purpose is to help newer players counter a killer who checks generators after they finish, and gives them time to hide. It was made purposefully to be low tier though, so it's obviously not going to be the difference between life and death.

  • @ChesterTheMolester said:

The weird thing about it is that he looks more dangerous than the Killer. Especially with his corpse paint and coat that has freaking nails on his armguard.

Definitely, his unique style really made him stand out to me. I like the idea of more eccentric and expressive characters! While characters like Feng had more colorful and out of the box looks, it seemed like they were explosive just for the sake of being explosive. I don't think it reflected her character as well as Jeff's did while holding a unique identity.

Dark Souls 3, Overwatch, and Fortnite mainly. It's been a rough few years for new games in my opinion, so I've sorta stuck with games that are easy to access and have replay value. Sounds sorta sad now that I think about it... I could really use an emotionally charged, life changing game!

Well for multiplayer games you won't find anything thats life changing and emotionally charged unless you play Killing Floor 2 and inevitably ask yourself how stupid and low a human being can get (way worse teammates than DBD).

Fallout 4 has some amazing characters and while not really emotionally charged in the sense i think you mean, it will confront all your believes while much of the cast, like John Hancock (my favorite) have a surprising amount of depth and are surprisingly complex.

Other recommendations are the Metro series, Doom, RDR2 and GTA 5 of course.

I did give Fallout 4 a spin and thought the characters were really something else. The only issue was that I was so used to Fallout 3 and New Vegas that I expected something a little... Similar but with new mechanics? I know that sounds snobby, but it made it hard to get into for me. Also, I was going through depression at the time so a lot of things didn't hold my attention much. It may be worth checking out again now that I am doing much better!

Ugh, I got SO close to trying Metro and I'm sorta beating myself up for not doing it. The atmosphere looked captivating. I've got to try it sometime. In terms of emotional stuff, I did try What Remains of Edith Finch. It was good, but most of it just had this overwhelmingly sad atmosphere that made it a bit difficult to play. My quest shall continue!

  • I chose Laurie because of her aesthetics and because we're both tall and blonde, lmao.

  • Lol, I love these types of posts.

    Killers:
The Legion (The entire squad to me was really well designed)
Trapper (His little waddle when he's on his killing spree :D)
    Doctor (In his suit obviously)
    Spirit (WAAAAAAAH)
Piggy (She's so cute, I can never get mad at her lol!)

    Survivors:
Laurie (Laurie is a precious gem that must be protected at all costs)
Kate (She's got hair like Sindel, but her style is pretty sick!)
Jake (Jake is bae, he always has a good sense of humor)
Adam (Adams always make me smile I have no idea why)
David (Davids are always trying to have fun, never gets old. That, or they just farm me)
Jeff (His edgy looks are super cool)

  • I don't find the Legion to be boring or unfun. Honestly, I have a bigger problem with the people that play them. Most people I see playing them swing their weapon constantly to catch up quicker and will swing their weapon while carrying you to utilize Mad Grit. It feels really sweaty to me, but idk. Other than that, I'm not sure why they've gotten as much hate as they have.

Exactly. I've been waiting for it. He will be the only survivor after David King i will completely max out. Maybe Adam or Kate once im done, which takes a while.

It's really strange, I think Jeff looks amazing in his hardcore gear but his default outfit to me is sorta... Meh. I totally knew you were gonna love Jeff though, lol!

  • Yeah, can't even remember the last time I saw a Tapp. Quentins, Aces, Adams, and Jeffs are a rare breed as well. I'll give Jeff the benefit of the doubt since he's fairly new, but I can understand why. His looks... Yikes.

The roads seem to be iced over but the main ones should be good. I might be able to go see a movie if I'm lucky :)

Oh, that's great to hear! What do you plan on seeing?

  • I love this a lot! You clearly put a lot of effort into it, and it was really interesting to read. I like how you described my gurl, Laurie!

  • Y'all this is too much for my poor stomach!! D:

  • Those pictures are gorgeous! Are the roads iced over? I hope you're not stuck at your house!

  • To me, a game over is a game over. All the gens are done/the killer is taking you to your last hook. You should've played differently to counter that happening. Decisive strike/NOED should not act as a defibrillator for bad plays. I heavily dislike both for that reason, and the fact that they've created so much more toxicity and anger within the community makes it even worse.

  • Honestly I just keep it moving along when a match is over. I rarely ever say anything in the end game chat because I want to get into the next round. Dead By Daylight's community is growing a lot, chances are I won't ever play against that person again. Why people waste breath on a passer-by is a mystery to me. If it's obvious you're being a twat (BMing, face-camping, etc.) for no apparent reason, I may have a word or two with you.

  • Trappy boi does need some love, I agree. I'm not sure if taking that away will do the trick, though. Whenever I play him I just hate how long it takes to set up all the traps and plan where to put them. When they get disarmed, you end up starting back at square 1 and having them sabotaged is really no fun. It's a mechanic that doesn't have to be a bad thing, he just needs his other issues fixed. I am grateful for what the devs have done for him recently, though.

  • There was a forum post exactly like this awhile ago asking to remove Laurie because the people who play her act toxic, lol. Like others have said, hate the player and not the character. Besides, you should be really proud of yourself if you decoyed the entire game and your team got out because of it.

  • Honestly I never really acknowledged it playing as killer and survivor. It hasn't changed the game for me or turned the tides in any drastic way, so I really don't mind what happens to it. The hook I'm more concerned about is the one on the balcony at the Thompson House. Like, what?

  • I'm proud of how far I've come, but in a way I miss my noob days! I played as Claudette since her supportive playstyle and self care seemed to be a good fit for me. My first game ever was on MacMillan Estate against a huntress. The only problem was that a map that is basically pitch black does not mix very well with a bright pink shirt, no matter how cute it may look. I was pretty much target practice! I ran in straight lines and slow vaulted over every window/pallet, even in a chase.

My second game was in Léry's, and we actually finished all the gens and got the gates open. However, the map was so complex and intricate that I never did find my way out. The trapper we were up against did not take mercy on me when he found me, unfortunatley.

I finally managed to redeem myself when I got a hatch escape in my third game. I was hiding behind a pile of debris while a Leatherface stood infront of the hatch with his chainsaw revved up. I watched and waited for a time he went into a tantrum, and just bolted for it.

  • 2 party streamers, survivor pudding, bound envelope, and escape cake. Killer disconnects during loading screen. Why are people like this?

  • It sounds like an ego issue to me. You could walk on eggshells an entire game and people will still accuse you of crushing their dreams. A lot of problems are created when you have a system in a game where you enter matches back to back. You'll get good games and bad games, sometimes one more than the other.

I know typically when people get shafted what seems like every game, their mood will begin to disintegrate and their behavior will become toxic. Kate probably had a bad run that day, and finally snapped. I find this is often the case for the crying survivor with decisive, or the salty leatherface insidious camping. It could even be the opposite. Kate could've had a great run that day and your game was the one that finally ended her winning streak. That was probably news to her when it got axed!

However, I am in no way excusing people for playing nasty when I say this. She lost fair and square and because you made her feel bad she wanted to make you feel bad as well. Don't let it dampen your spirits or change how you play. You didn't do anything wrong.

  • Went against an iridescent hatchet huntress who began face camping and nodding halfway through the round. Didn't get a single kill. She accused me and the people I was playing with to be SWF. Best part was I was running ONE PERK. No one was using speed perks, either. The Claudette was using decisive, but honestly that's standard protocol.

  • @ChesterTheMolester said:

I just realized that Legion isn't the first knife wielding gang in DBD, that title sadly belongs to Laurie, Meg, Claudette and bald Dwight.

They look like an 80s band lmao, Laurie and the D-Strikers

I would rather not have politics in the game.

But silly cosmetics are off limits anyway.

    Santa Clown is pretty silly.

It would be believable in his lore. He could have been a mall Santa at one point. He's already a clown, after all, maybe he just wanted to make some extra money around the holidays.

Now i imagine children sitting on his lap...
"What do you wish for christmas little Laurie?"

    "A KNIFE MR. SANTA"

    "Sorry i can't..."

    Gets decisive striked

    "Laurie what do you have?"

    "A KNIFE!"

    "NO!"

  • I play solo and main Laurie with her P3 clothes. I have a pretty high frequency of dodging as well as moris and other unfun addons to play against with my cosmetic choice. It gets annoying sometimes when I have to be bullied out of wearing whatever cosmetics I want or I'll struggle to find a good game. Funny thing is I use zero of her perks. No DS, no OoO, nothing. I just like her character a lot. I wish people understood that survivors aren't out to get them.

  • People only say gg when they win.

  • I would feel a lot better about DS and NOED if it weren't for the fact that they're used so often. There's no disadvantage for either, and I honestly believe bad plays should NOT be rewarded. Decisive is used to bully the killer and be a major crutch, when it's intention was for it to be used as a last resort escape. NOED can completely turn the tide of the game, and can turn a 1k to a 3k with very little effort. I am not a fan of either, but as long as one exists I am okay with the other existing.
