It's not taking the game hostage, just get some water or watch YT on your phone. Goodness you'd think Survivors would get over this by now. Slugging for 4K was present in the game before, now you just have Killers who want to see their unique cosmetic combo or mori. Boo hoo, so sad.
-
Exactly, slugging for the 4K existed long before this and would be happening even if this mori update never happened. But they'd rather whine and cry in this forum and blame the meanie Killers who wsnt to win, and yes if a Killer considers getting a 4K a win that is as valid as a Killer who is fine with a 3K or hatch escape
-
This thread will quickly get deleted cause BHVR does control the narrative here, but for those who actually care make noise on other places. X, YouTube, Facebook. Get articles made, get the bad press on BHVR. That's the only way they ever fix these issues. Look at the colorblind controversy, or Bubba's blackface. They don't care until all of a sudden they get bad press and they fix the issues real quick
-
He bled you out, game ended, not holding the game hostage. Jerk move? Yes. Against the rules? No.
-
I did the challenge by chasing near a Void entrance and after throwing a smoke bomb entering the void. The chase auto escapes once you enter the void even if Killer follows you
-
This reads like you never played Xbox Live, which has a similar system. Players can report each other as unsportsmanlike or such things, and it gives them a "reputation". It's also completely ineffective cause there is no oversight, so you will have salty and upset players report each other just to ruin the other's rep.
Now imagine that same thing but in DbD. Killer stomps us? Well they're a toxic piece because they didn't let us reset. Killer uses NOED, camps, tunnels? Survivors genius, bodyblock, entity forbid are in a SWF? You can see. Heck, there is already a giant issue of players doing false reports and wasting the devs time. This would just exasperated the issue
-
Singu: Biopods in chase can be very effective, run them to a loop and hit them with it when they're in a bad spot. If they EMP just hit them again. Also some maps have pretty busted spots, such as RPDs main lobby. Put a pod near the angel statue and another above the front desk gen and you can cover the entire room
-
Reminder that the 3rd page of the event tome unlocked today, and you can only get those challenges in the event game mode. Give it a day or two, three max and I'm sure things will even out again. I'd be clearing them now if I wasn't at work all day lol
-
I've been having fun with a somewhat memes build on my Wraith. Perks are Distressing, Unnerving Presence, Coulrophobia, and Undone. Add ons are his All Seeing Spirit Iri add on (let's you see gen repair progress while cloaked) and his Beast Soot brown add on (terror radius active while cloaked, gain bonus BP on unblock hits). Also use a Jigsaw Piece offering to send yourself to the Game map.
Build is based around getting value out of Undone. Distressing boosts your TR so you get max value out of UP and Coulrophobia, and any missed skill checks feed Undone. Beast add on let's you mind screw with Survivors cause while they now have your TR they still don't always know where you are, and with how small Game is they are almost always in the TR. All Seeing than let's you know where best to use Undone and also helps you find Survivors.
It's not the best build out there but I'm getting 3-4Ks pretty regularly, which is something cause Wraith is one of my main and best Killers so his MMR should be decent
-
I have 3 that I love.
Wake Up- I really wish people would...wake up, Waka Waka, to this perk. It's not insane or broken, but all it does is let you open the exit gates faster and show your teammates where you are. I've gotten many a clutch escape, especially in a gate patrol scenario after Killer closed hatch.
Clairvoyance- A Miquella perk, you cleanse or bless a totem and see auras of hooks, gens, chests, and even the hatch at 64 meters. You can't have an item while using it, and if you're not careful you can burn it, but it gives you a decent bit of info and can even let you find hatch very easily.
Potential Energy- Probably my wildest take but man is this perk a great example of high risk high reward. Potentially carrying 20% of a gen around can be really strong, so having to gather the charges and not be injured is honestly a fair trade off, you just have to be smart about gathering them.
I play SoloQ, so here's how I use it. If working on a gen solo, begin gathering Energy around 98% or so. That way I can gather the charges and than finish the gen, while if the Killer gets close I can just dump what I have and finish the gen. If someone is with me on the gen start gathering around 75%, same mentality.
PE is also a great counter to Pain Resonance, as it takes 20 and you can immediately give it back
-
If you are hooked and at least ONE Survivor has escaped, unhook yourself. Would be hilarious
-
Miquella getting dragged off to Brazil was the highlight I needed this morning
-
Playstyles as a whole are not toxic and to many players take things personally. Slugging, Tunneling, Camping, Bodyblocking, flashlight/pallet saves, all are legitimate parts of the game players have a right to use. This includes Killers who only slugging and leave players to bleed out. Cringe definitely, but toxic? Nah. When it happens to me I just grab my phone and relax, go get a drink, etc.
I will add that as obvious it should be, this does not include slugging or harassing a character or their player for skin color, gender, sensuality, etc.
-
I personally enjoy it, but without a tome to do challenges on I don't see a major reason to play it aside from a few games.
-
I do want to see what they mean. Honestly it should just be that the yellow Mori is basekit, Green Mori let's you Mori one person on death hook at any point, and Ebony remains unchanged. 4K Moris are fun little challenges. Than just remove yellow moris from loadouts and give BP for the removed offerings
-
These changes are just flat out lazy and it's obvious. Devs either don't want to or can't divert resources to properly looking at and fixing SM and so just want to nuke her so no one plays her. People mention Myers and Freddy, but those two have the excuse of being licensed characters. It could very well be part of the contracts for those two that any changes have to be approved by the license holders no matter how small.
They don't have that with SM though. They're just taking the easy way out, and by they I mean the people who call the shots at BHVR. It's the same reason a lot of players including myself call out the cash shop. It's obvious where resources are getting diverted to when an entire event tome can drop and not have rift fragments while we have 3 straight weeks of cosmetics dropped planned (and another million more on the way no doubt). It's obvious where the priorities lie and it's not with the players
-
It's toxic to play a Killer in the mode now?
-
Reminder this PTB is also the Castlevania PTB, so Killers ARE getting a new Killer and 3 new perks.
-
She just got a skin in the rift though?

It doesn't matter the order that you link them, it matters which one you open after linking them because that's when it determines the loadouts from the look of it.
Ah okay, so Ill open it on PS5 first. I don't mind reapplying builds but cosmetics would be a pain
-
I'm gonna do my Cross Progression after work. So I should log onto PSN first THAN Steam to do the sync properly? I'm not seeing a hot to fo vid anywhere
-
Binding of Kin proved BHVR doesn't have quality control, don't know why players get surprised when BHVR routinely takes a steaming dump in the bed on updates
-
I'm firmly in the camp that believes MMR doesn't exist in this game. BHVR couldn't figure it out and are to proud to admit it.
But let's pretend it does exist, than the problem you are running into is another one of BHVRs matchmaking paradoxes. They don't want groups waiting to long to play, so if it takes a little to long they start to widen their MMR net, so you could say be in a silver bracket and start looking for a match, but there's a platinum bracket who have been waiting two whole minutes so matchmaking grabs YOU and throws you in to the lobby, even though you might have had a more "fair" lobby that you could have recieved.
It's exasperated by Killers lobby dodging of course, or a Survivor lobby dodging. MM doesn't want the lobby to wait so it starts looking for someone to fill the slot quickly. It's why in SoloQ things seem so random. I wouldn't be surprised if 50% of DoloQ games were simply matchmaking just grabbing whoever it can because BHVR doesn't believe their playerbase has a better patience limit than a 3 year old, which playong SoloQ and dealing with salt messages, sadly BHVR is right.
-
I feel a little bad cause I got my Adept Lara due to the bug. 2 gens left needed to be done, I did one and it popped both. I was able to escape while the last Survivor died. I don't feel to bad though cause our other two teammates rage quitted on hook and they stealthed for the entire last gen(s)
-
Leons and Steves tend to make the worst plays as a Survivor in my experience, but as Killer Davids tend to be the most annoying, obviously trying to get my attention. They are also the first to be sore winners/losers in messages. The good thing is ever since David "came out" I rarely see him anymore so its more of a once in a while thing now
-
My dream is that we get old Freddy back with qol changes. I mained him back in the day and he always felt like such a unique Killer to play, just the gamr environment and meta at the time made him useless
-
It would be nice, but BHVR won't say anything because it means they know there is a problem with the scarecrow they out out to keep the hackers at bay and that would make shareholders nervous
-
BHVR tried to hard to make her a zanny Harley Quinn/Jinx esque character to me, and thos etypes always get on my nerves. I can tolerate her but wont miss the voice once this event ends
-
Wake Up.
A lot of pkayers sleep on it since its an endgame perk like Hope or Adrenaline, but it doesn't provide any "good effects".
- You see the auras of exit gates mapwide, and when you begin opening a gate your teammates see your aura. So they know the direction to run in.
- When you open gates, at T3 you open it 25% faster, which is an insane amount. Im sure every Survivor has had that one game where if you just had 3 more seconds unbothered youd have opened the gate. Or that tense moment of trying to open the gate while Killer is off checking other gate.
Wake Up is a mainstay for me. Its clutched many an escape I feel
-
Yes, as stated these are Vecna powers. Survivors have to roll a 20 opening a chest and theyll get either the Eye or Hand of Vecna.
Eye is what makes them invisible for 15 seconds, while the Hand will teleport them to another lovker on the other side of the map. Both will leave the Survivor broken (the powers can only be used at full health) and reveal them with Killer Instinct for 3 seconds. Also you can insta mori the Survivor with the item at their death hook
-
Wish Id taken a pic of it I was laughing to hard but I got a pallet today that spawned in an area far to wide, so when I threw it it left enough room for Vecna to just...sidestep it. This new map is such a riot
-
If only BHVR had people who could test the game, a spare I don't know...95 people?
-
The dungeon one near the beholder.
-
I got it and have been happy sobfar. Survivor perks are fun, I enjoy Still Sight. Vecna is fun to play and fits into my nornal build nicely. I also got both adepts, the map gen trophy, and escaping with the Hand of Vecna trophies
-
Yea, I noticed that while playong for her adept. Felt really odd

You just named my exact build haha, those 3 plus Iron Will are very solid together.
I use Desperate Measures + Resilience with it. I get broken and do everything so much faster
-
I plan to, Vecna was fun to play and aside from his Adept I dont have to use those perks. The Survivor perks though are all pretty fun, amd Im probably the only one most excited for Still Sight, especially paired with Open Handed. Just stand still for a bit and get to know where the Killer is
-
Welcome to DbD
-
While I agree with OP, tunneling is actually a bit more complicated of an issue to fix. Lot of people will rage and scream at that but its true. Way I figure, there are 3 reasons Killers tunnel.
- They want to. Maybe its malicous and wanting to ruin someone's day. Maybe they are doing it for a meme, Lore Accurate Nemesis for example. Whatever the reason, the player themselves is going into the match knowing they will be going after a particular player for a reason.
- It's the best play. They may be losing gens due to bad calls or bad plays, they may have tried playing "fair" and couldn't snowball. Maybe they hooked a player, turned around only for a Survivor to immediately unhook them before the Killer could even step away, so now they want to punish the bad play. Plenty of reasons actually for tunneling to be the best option at that moment.
- The tunneling is accidental, which yes does happen. I'm talking the unhooked Survivor runs away and rounds the corner into the Killer, or the Killer goes to the hook and sees scratch marks going in two different directions and just so happens to pick the unhooked Survivor. In those instances, the Killer than makes the smart move and just downs the injured Survivor in front of them.
Now the question is, how do the devs fox any of these issues? The first point you can't really fix as players will do what they want. Base BT, less points, even game loss doesn't faze them. The 2nd points is what the devs acknowledge and do support, sometimes that is the best play and Killers should be able to make it to win. And third point again just...happens, so you cant really do much.
Obviously tunneling is more of a complicated issue than even what I put, but its not the black and white issue so many players try to make it.
-
To play, Oni. Every time Ive touched him I deal with a bug when using his power. Slam not breaking things, getting stuck while turning, one time I got pallet stunned and launched out of the map.
Worst Killer though has got to be Singularity, which sucks cause hes easily one of my favorites. Just get an EMP and youve denied Singu his power for about 90% of the match, and when uouve used your EMP dont worry, theres another one already made just a few feet away
-
I use it in all my builds cause it helps snowball, and it has good synergy with Nemesis, in that it makes the now exposed Survivor Oblivious. So they may know youre coming, but not always from where
-
Turn off the TVs? Sadako main, Survivors have no reason not to grab a tape in her current kit. This game to me sounds like you made a bad choice in staying on the gen until it was to late
-
Like Gentleman said, to make that action bannable means Survivors teabaggobg, or GF or Pig teabagging become bannable actions. Its immature yes, but it suddenly becomes a slippery slope
-
I for one am fine with this, cause I suck with Artist and dont feel like struggling to get her challenges done lol

Yeah I tried it a few times and I just never felt like the team got enough value from it, and the broken status is really off putting. I tried it with No Mither and Resilience and still felt like it was just a waste of a perk. I thought it was funny though that they had her release with a perk that makes you broken and then a perk that lets you heal in the basement. The basement healing perk is actually kinda nice in situations though but her unhook in the basement perk also seems pretty bad. Now I don't see anyone running the invocation since she's been out for a little while.
I used the Invo to replace No Mither in my No Mither build. I mostly pkay Solo Q, playing with others kind of sucks the fun out for me. I like it cause I feel I leave value for the team, however minimal even if I die. It also has the nice effect of countering Merciless Storm.
Also I no longer feel like Im feeding an Oni cause if I go against an Oni, or a Thana user, I just...dont use Invocation
-
Honestly Im having fun using Sables Invocation paired with Resilience and Desperate Measures. I temd to than just run Windows, but Alert and Distortion have also been good. Not a high meta build by any means but Ive been enjoying it
-
Im more annoyed cause this is no meme one of my favorite perks in the game and ran it constantly. Once I learned of the exploit Ive stopped running it, now just gotta wait til BHVR finally fixes this in 8 months
-
Hex: Insidious Counter
All gens are blacked for 5/10/15 seconds and begin regressing at 100/200/300% speed
-
Nemesis is a great purchase specifically for Lethal Pursuer. It has great snowball energy and synergizes with several perks and add ons.
PerPersonally, I love Sadako. She has good perks that while not S Tier are useful in most games, and I rnjoy her playstyle. Just dont focus on condemns and instead try and use her teleports strategically.
Clown do have that belly doh
-
MMR has never existed and I've seen no evidence to convince me otherwise. And even if it does, the Devs nullify it because if a player or group waits to long, the bracket they are in loosens so to speak until they can find someone a match. That means if a Killer lobby dodges, the game goes into oanic mode and starts to draw in other Killers so Survivors don't have to wait to long, or of a lobby is struggling to fill up they just pull in Survivors to fill it.
The Devs want the lobbies of a competitive game but still treat this as a casual game, and players suffer for it.
