I don't want to sound rude, but why is it weird to ask "What gender is this character (skin)"? Like that character clearly is very different looking and sounding than default Huntress or how Huntress usualy sounds or look like even with different outfits. There are people out there that care about gender and sexuality for their favorite characters.
And why just not answering OP when taking your time writting something and helping the OP with such simple question for someone who (probably) allready knows the answer. If you don't know the answer that's fine ofc but maybe add it there if you are not sure because this looks like OP is bad for asking simple question and curious question. I would feel kinda bad for OP honestly.
Its not weird. It's pretty normal.
I'll sound rude. Pretty sad example of a community manager to respond to a question in such a way, question wasn't rude or breaking any TOS. Another prime example of how BHVR has no idea how to interact with their community like adults.
-
The community in general just has a massive problem with complaining and wanting the game to cater to THEM. Survivors can't play with friends, or use these perks, or play this character without drawing ire. Theres a thread up right now of people defending griefing a pkayer using the new Invocation perk and its pretty pathetic.
Same with Killers. Is SM boring and unfun? Personally I dont mind her but obviously others dont like her. Does that make it okay to DC or give up cause someone plays her, or Nurse, or Blight? Not at all, but people still do and defend it cause its "not fun". Don't get why so many people even pkay if they compkain about everything in the game.
-
Id like a collection of cosmetics for Survivors aboit what their Killer variants would be. Imagine Kate having a banshee like scream that disorients Survivors, she has long claws and a jagged mouth. Or Vittorio leaving sigil traps that explode like Hag traps except can damage. He could be skinned but covered in sigil tattoos.
-
Nurse- I see it as an opportunity to see how good I am in things like stealth amd mindgames.
Twins, Skull Merchant- For me they are rare Killers, so its different
-
Good questionnaire but like mentioned a little barebones. I'd posit these other questions:
When do you feel tunneling becomes "acceptable". 3 gens remaining? 2? When Exit Gates are powered?
Have you ever tunneled for a meme, such as Lore Accurate Nemesis?
Can tunneling be used as a punishment tool (Unhooking a Survivor just hooked before the Killer can get a good distance away)
-
Personally I want them to bring back the endgame Mori idea, as well as announce new moris. Best way I can figure is they just make the yellow Mori basekit, that way Killers can have the choice. For Survivors, they can just pick themselves up after about a minute of being slugged. Would help stop hardcore slugging without making a basekit unbreakable

I’ve been getting amazing value from Friends ‘til the End. I’m still workshopping a build around it, but it complements its instant teleports shockingly well.
I pair Friends to the End with Lethal on all my builds

I'm gonna go with what someone in that reddit thread said:
Survivor with a flashlight not throwing the game for a save challenge (impossible)He downed Zarina, saw scratchmarks/saw the gen had progress, and knew at least one of you had a beam. He's supposed to pick her up in the open?
The you had a decent tile to loop him on for a bit, but decided to run into the open because you thought a pallet might be better. Then Vittorio saves you, you get downed again, and somehow he gets downed 3 seconds later. Not gonna lie, this is looking like a skill issue. Ada seemed to be the only one that knew what she was doing.
Was about to do the same thing lol
-
360s certainly cause I fall for them often, auto aim is always making me hit a car and not the Survivors.
Main thing is when people complain about characters and perks on both sides. I could care less if Im against a SM tunning NOED amd Deadlock and Lethal and Ultimate Weapon, nor could I care if I go against a SWF running SB Unbreakable Boil Over etc. Feel to many take this vifeo game to seriously
-
Here are my opinions.
Skill Expression: I disagree that those are exploits, simply because the devs as stated they are not. And if the feature (crouch tech, hug tech, flick techs) are unintended than it should be on the devs to fix it, which they seem to be with Blight. I also want more interaction between players such as Lightborn plays, and this is a Killer who keeps Wraith in his rotation.
Balancing: I could easily rant why MMR is the worst design choice ANY dev can put into their game that is intended as casual (which again, per the devs DbD is casual) This is especially true when rewards are entailed the better you do. As you mentioned, MMR only encourages optimization, which makes every game functionality the same. The depip removal is a good step though in fixing this, but it should honestly still be loosened in the higher tiers, especially Survivor side.
Reworks and Priorities: This one is more of a disconnect between players and devs, and isn't that black and white of an issue. Take tunneling for example, no one (except actually toxic players) WANTS to ruin another players game, but with gen regression bring nerfed, gen speeds having the capability to be so quickly repaired, and other playstyles such as camping (the anti facecamp is a great feature, this was a change for the better) bring nerfed, players turn to what optimization they can which is tunneling. And no, not a Killer main defending tunneling, but just accepting that its not a black and white issue like so many players want to believe.
Content Creators: Fog Whispereres are cheerleaders and nothing more. Numerous have confirmed it, and its pretty sad BHVR parades thrm around so much just to show off cosmetics.
Anonymous Mode: Agreed.
Community: If people really want things changed it comes down to the players. If you don't care for tunneling, don't tunnel. If someone plays a Killer you don't like, or uses perks you hate, just play the game, move on and don't get butthurt enough to send messages. To many members of this community take it upon themselves to police other players.

Will certainly make people here angry but who cares.
Killer Build:
Lethal Pursuer- Get that early snow ball going
Friends to the End: pairs with Lethal, and lets me get right to a chase more often than not.
3rd Perk tends to be a bit more fluid, Lightborn if I see multiple flashlights, Surge, Monitor and Abuse. Just something simple that I know I can get use out of.
NoED: Cause I'm not perfect and make mistakes and this perk can help me secure a kill or, if the other players are really dimb, secure a win.
Survivor:
Contrary opinion, I like the Invocation perk. Its not S Tier by any means and certainly the criticisms are valid, but Ive always a No Mither build to just pmay with amd this Invocation replaces No Mither nicely, meaning I no longer potentially supercharge Thanatophobia or Oni.
Invocation- You all know this perk. Only advice Id give is if you do not have the perk, dont try and help. Unless everyone hops on it its never worth it.
Resilience- Once broken you do everything faster, repairing gens, opening gates, etc.
Desparate Measures- Same idea, once a Survivor is injured you get the bonus effects, so now you unhook and heal much quicker.
Windows- Windows is just a good perk. Gives plenty of info both in and out of chase, and imo isn't the broken mess a lot of players will call it
-
A last Survivor standing mode would be cool.
Survivors load in and are all exposed. There are no lockers, no gens, and all they can do is stealth and hide. Crows can be alerted even if you crouch walk, Killers have Spies from the Shadows just at a lower range. When a Killer downs a Survivor they can mori them. When one Survivor is left exit gates automatically open and its a mad dash to escape.
-
If you DC or let yourself go on hook against SM, your opinion on SM doesn't matter, its that simple. You made the choice to load DbD, you made the choice to choose Survivor, you chose to search for a match, you chose to ready up. Each of these steps you operate under the possibility of going against a SM. To quit against her just because you get her is just being entitled, which is par the course for most of this community
-
Ultimately the event should have started at 200% BP Bonus and only increased, and Id argue dont have a limit, just see how high the community can go. These events should be celebrations for the community, but it honestly feels like having to do chores to get the presents
-
Making me laugh, but only cause I do the same stuff. Had a game the other day where I was playing my Cybil (fav Silent Hill character, the cop skin Cheryl has). We loaded into RPD, entered the main lobby same time as a Legion who saw and hit me. In a desperate attempt to save myself, I ran behind the counter and started miming working as a cop. I pointed towards one side of the map, and than started "typing" on my computer. Legion stared at me for a bit than left.
My guy let me work in oeace, he let everyone go. That kind of dumb nonsense
-
I got called incompetent and having an inability to think, as well as a selfish and toxic butthole on a Youtube vid cause I argued that people who AFK against a SM have entitlement issues, simply cause they are getting upset someone played a Killer they dont like.
I'll also add all I said in my initial comment was that I liked the new Blood Moon cosmetic, played a game, and steam rolled cause someone AFKd the moment they saw who I was playing.
-
In light of recent events on Twitter I do on the rare occasion give a Tombstone Myers the Mori if its clear the game has been lost. As in, the other three were all Morid and only Im left. I do like to still find hatch than draw Myers attention, all so he can see I found hatch. Its silly, but its my way of saying I could leave and have you do this again, but I know this achievement is a pain so lets just end everyones suffering now
That being said, if theres still another pkayer or I have a challenge of some sorts, such as escaping via hatch, I tend not to
-
I like a mixture of games. Easy ones are fun cause they give me a sense of power whether as Survivor or Killer. Balanced games let me see both my skill but the skill of others, and can lead to tense plays that if played back can be seen as the deciding moments. And than sweat games help me think on my feet and see what works.
The only games I hate are the ones people give up in. Im guilty of it to and try to use it as my barometer of when I need to stop playing, but having Survivors go AFK or DC when I play Skull Merchant or Legion is just boring.

More trapper hate. Man, he almost feels like a real killer!
No hate, love my Naughty Bear.
-
Lightborn of course. You can also try to position yourself staring at a wall.
If its Background Player causing issues, Singularity has I believe Genetic Limits is the one that causes exhaustion whrn you pick up a Survivor so it hard counters BP. Someone else mentioned Infectious Fright so you at least know if someone is close, also Awakened Awareness from Wesker lets you see if anyone is trying to hide for a surprise Flashbang blind
-
Its less of BHVR and just the mechanics of the Killers that can be used.
Trapper- Cannplace bear traps all around a 3 gen
Wraith- Usain Bolt level patrolling
Hillbilly- Chainsaw dash patrolling
Nurse- Nurse
Huntress- Can throw hatchets at fleeing Survivors
Can go down the whole list and find someway to 3 Gen with them. Same way you can argue camping, or tunneling. Some are just more effective. BHVR has made a good step though with the kick limits
-
Potential Energy, Windows of Opportunity, Wake Up, Distortion
40/60
-
Agreed. Max amount should easily be 10X the normal amount. Its only for two weeks, and itll probably take the community a week to get to maximum multiplier. That would give the community just a wild week of BP farming, which would easily bring in players, help new players build up characters, let experienced players build up on add ons and offerings for favorite characters which would encourage more play. I cant think of any reason except for people maxing out stuff to quickly, except both devs and mods have straight up told the community that if we're getting burned out or theres nothing to do we should play other games.
Right now this feels like the community has to unlock a week for triple blood points which, again, great but doesn't feel worth the effort for the reward
-
If 4 gens are done and only 4 hook stages have been made, than at best Killer has only gotten 1 person out. Even in that situation, if a Killer hard tunnels and proxy camps one person that should only result in a 2 K as the other 2 can finish a gen and open the exit gate and survive.
Camping and tunneling only work because Survivors allow it to.
-
I use it with my old No Mither build, replaced No Mither with it. I actually like the perk. Its not insanely strong, but fun for a few games
-
I learned about the AFK penalty whem I dod the Slinger challenge to reveal auras with Retribution. Just loaded in a game with Lethal, Bitter Murmur, Lightborn, and Hex Retribution. Started the match amd away to do some chores, came back it said I dcd.
Figured I lost connection so I did it again, and same thing 2nd time. Thats how I learned there is AFK penalty. Annoying but I understand so I just loaded in a third and would occasionally come down and move Slinger somewhere

Do you have to wear the whole skin or just the head?
Unsure, Im wearing the whole cheerleader skin but changed the weapon
-
People are sandbagging Sables? Thats really dumb. Ive used the Invocation and either people come to help or they keep working on gens, looping the killer, etc. The only one who did anything was someone who chased the Killer i to the basement, pointed at me and than DCd. The Killer just stared at me for a second after downing the bot, hooked the bot and left. (Did down and sac me later but at least they recognized someone was trying to screw me)
-
Share your videos with friends, family and the world
I also go for Adepts and have (most) of them saved as Youtube vids. I know some people like watching and seeing so here's my hat in this ring.
Main advice I can give for any Adept hunters is that throw any "rules" away. Some games are easy, some games are not. Some Killer powers and/or perks can carry the Adept, others are terrible and you basically have to be smart with add ons/playstyle. Maps can also be the main contender, so give yourself an advantage. I tend to do most of my Adepts on Haddonfield cause Killer games in my opinion can go a lot easier on that map.
-
New perk so a lot of peopme are trying it. Ive found though its far better to just have one person do it. Yes, it takes 2 minutes, but it allows the other 3 to still work on gens or distract the Killer. Unless everyone has the Invocation, better to just stay out of the basement

So you were able to unlock the achievement? If so, were all 5 gens completed then escape and did you solo or duo the gen?
I duod, all 5 gens did get completed and I escaped out the exit gate. I also got my Adept Sable done in that same way
-
Seems like a bug, I got the achievement my first gen as well as my Adept Sable.
-
Not just the Purples, even greens. Running around with the Cheerleader skin and I predominantly hear a female voice
-
I will.
I enjoyed Unknowns gameplay, and his gen block perk will pair well in some perk builds. The Invocation perk will do well in my No Mither build, itll replace No Mither itself.
Map is free, but it will be interesting
-
Old Freddy definitely, I really liked his kit and the ability to see auras when Survivors were asleep and outside of your TR was very nice. Than they "fixed" him and he's been super boring ever since.
The other though actually has been Twins. Yes, it sucks having to traverse the map for getting pickups, but being able to essentially be in two places at once has come in clutch.
-
You forget ghe #1 rule. DbD is supposed to be for fun, but only the fun of the individual matters and if they dont have fun they should be able to do what they want without consequence
-
I run NOED cause it my backup plan. Maybe I have an off day, maybe the Survivors are running builds that perfectly counter my own, maybe Ive been sacrificed to BHVR's highest altar of MMR. Either way, NOED helps to secure kills, especially against cocky Survivors who dont cleanse bones. Its one of the reasons I run Counterforce as a Survivor, I spawn in and begin hunting bones. Almost never have to deal with NOED
-
Because the pained cries of Survivors are liud and go on for far to long, dont take it personally, when I hit you its to just quiet the alarm (for those who dont know, yes, if you hit a Survivor after hooking you cancel their scream)
-
I think Unknown will be fun to play, but his strength will be more on the teleport function, which since its a more random as opposed to other teleport Killers that will impct him. Range wise his noob tentacle tube will give him an edge over other ranged Killers considering you can hit through walls, though Survivors hugging walls against him will probably quickly learn. His perks will be pretty mid, though his missed skill check one will be very strong on Doctor.
As for Sable, she'll be a cash cow for skins no doubt, but her perks are all either highly situational or just bad. Honestly for an introduction of Invocation, hers is pretty bad for the pay off. If it gave a permanent 15 charges thatd be one thing, but honestly I think they should make it so it auto completes one gen. Takes roughly the same time, goes faster with other Survivors, and you can even keep the broken aspect. Thats just me though.
The map though is a bit of a toss up. Its very large, and every PTB match the exit gates always spawned on opposite edges of the map, and even Blight struggled to successfully patrol from what I saw, so if Killer closes hatch itll honestly be a 50/50 on most Killers. On the flip side though, there were very few safe pallets and a heck of a lot of unsafe ones, so itll take a bit to settle but I can see a lot of players on both sides hating the map and wanting it shrunk
-
Definitely taking a break, but also look and find other fun wayd to play the game. I recommend Chest Protector Bubba.
Load in as Bubba using whatever perks you want (My choice is Distressing so Survivors know I am guarding the box, Lightborn so as not to be blinded from the box's majesty, NOED and Bloodwarden to ounish those who try to steal from the box at endgame)
Just load in, find Basement, and guard the box. Youll be able to get Rift fragments, challenge progress with some challenges, and Id say 9 out of 10 games no one bothers you. The fun comes when Survivors play and try to open the box. I like to hook them as punishment but allow for rescues. I have killed Survivors and never feel bad cause ig I hook you twice after you touch the box and you touch it a 3rd time, well thats just natural selection
-
Old Freddy. I miss his gameplay style, and honestly feel if he was brought back in with current meta he'd be a lot better recieved than how he used to be, and be stronger as wrll now that Ruin is no longer the sole gen slowdown

What’s a “Normandy gen”?
The generator on the Normandy from the Alien map. The one every Survivors loves to loop the Killer around the big table
-
Personally, Potential Energy from Victorrio. Its an excellent example of high risk, high reward. You are able to store 20% of a gens progress ,and can install it in any generator. Caught in a potential 3 gen? Trying to do the Normandy gen? Maybe you dont want to worry about Merciless Storm?
Imo, the main problem is so many players aren't smart when they use PE. If you are working on a gen solo, you should NEVER activate PE and start gaining charges until you are at 98% or so on a gen. Basically enough that you gain full stacks, and immediately repair the gen. If someone is on gen with you than yes, activate it and gain the stacks.
If the Killer is coming close, just dump the stacks you have. You dont NEED to build the 20 stacks to dump them, only to continue working on a gen.
The biggest downside is obviously if you get hit you lose your stacks, but thats what gives the perk its risk element to justify the reward. Not saying its the greatest out there, but a lot of people sleep on it I think
-
The Main building is very nice, has some safe pallets. Out in the actual map though very open with several unsafe pallets. Every game though gates spawned on opposite edges, so even Killers like Blight and Billi will struggle to be able to patrol both doors effectively. I think overall the map will be fine, but there will certainly be calls of the map being Survivor sided.
I just hope it wont take me 5 months to get the gen trophy. I collect those for the fun of it and some maps I cant stand just do to the nightmare of it all
-
I have 2, one game was Pig, the other was my boi Singularity.
Pig I won due to Altruism, Singularity due to MMR just royally screwing Survivors over
https://youtu.be/Pr5cECkGqxo?si=k9Ztd7n21yAJXRCh https://youtu.be/Ug5tD8rqEJ4?si=owKV6Hl9pfEGTSSXVids for proof
-
I still dont have my Hag outfit from the last time they did this nonsense, not surprised these devs are running into these issues they can barely put out an update without breaking the game
-
Kate Denson. When I first started playing DbD, Curtain Call just dropped, and all of her perks sounded great to me, especially Windows. Now its just a sun cost fallacy, though two of my Survivors also now have all perks (Cheryl and Nick)
-
A lot of times they want to help by speeding up your healing progression, which while appreciated
1) Many times leads to the Killer finding the two Survivors
2) Is time you can spend on a gen, totem, doing something else
-
Sorry for your experience, wish I could say that the devs are working hard yo improve it but their last AMA pretty much confirmed they are not focusing on improving new player experience anytime soon.
That being said, do know the devs are working REALLY hard to bring the mobile skins many characters have over to the main game, so know if you leave youll be giving up your chance to give these devs your money
