Bots and a ranked/unranked game mode was super exciting for me. Bots especially is like my number one things I'd kill for in this game. Having hud icons to see what teammates are doing would also be a godsend for solo queue and useful for 2-mans.
Everything else seemed like it was just standard stuff. I must have missed it or read over it quick, what was the endorsement thing you mentioned?
I bet my bottom dollar the grind fix will be prestige tokens where you perma unlock a perk forever. Best case scenario being you get 3 tokens per character so a prestige 3 character will have all their perks perma unlocked. Meaning when everyone is P3 the only perks you ever have to get is the standard ones. That would annihilate the grind for long term players and be super useful for newer players to keep perks they like. I doubt it'l be that generous but I'm confident it's gonna be prestige tokens of some kind.

Simple, I'm still going to be playing Dead by Daylight

Just with a different gaming set-up.
EDIT: Somehow forgot this will take at least half a year to arrive, so I'm just sticking to Them's Fightin' Herds for now.
Huh, I remember that back when it was still pony stuff. I didn't even know it was still a thing and had assumed it never took off after the cease and desist. How is it?

Tier list based on breaking animations or animations in general?

As far as bigger streamers go, Tokki. I think she hands down has the most wholesome stream in dbd. Awesome, awesome community
I think Otz is wholesome, too, but I really dislike chat.
There are a lot of smaller streamers I've encountered over the past few years that are super chill and wholesome - some still stream - LawrieBird (who I've played against on numberous occasions), QueenGeraldeen, LenaAxios - off the top of my head
TBF to Otz, I don't think I've seen any big streamer with a good twitch chat. Heck, most normal streamers with just a couple 100 people usually have pretty bad chats.
Edit: Got in a match so I couldn't finish but on topic, I also like Hybridpanda and Otz. There are others I like as well but I don't know about wholesome.

It doesn't pop up in the menu that you get it. You have to manually check your Nurse cosmetics to see if you got it or not. Depending on timezone you might also have to wait? I don't know how they do releases.
-
He's my top Indie choice so I'd be pretty happy but there are many other movie killers I'd prefer before him.
-
Could have been horrible Ping. It's been a long long time since I've seen one but I had a killer with like 1k-2k ping once and they were teleporting everywhere. This was back before servers though so I don't know if it even works the same.
I think there was some exploit where PC people could get into PS4 lobbies with crossplay off but you'd still see the crossplay symbol. I think that's been fixed though? Maybe? I'm not actually sure.

Use play with your food. You can become 15% faster for most of the game, because killing doesn't remove a token.
Certainly a great choice. I normally only used it with perma tombstone and never really thought to try it with just the piece, I bet it'll work really well. Thanks!
-
How about this one instead?
Tombstone Piece/Faster Stalk
Lethal
Corrupt
Deadlock
Bitter Murmur
It's putting all your eggs in one basket but it works quite well from my experience.
-
Baby Yoda
-
Jeepers Creepers which wont come for obvious reasons.
The Banana Splits over FNAF because of that sweet schadenfreude. Obvious they'll never make because realistically why would you ever?
I'd also love Alucard from Hellsing but that seems a bit too out there. Honestly anything horror anime related seems impossible. Blood Plus, Parasyte, Tokyo Ghoul, Deadmans Wonderland, Elfen Lied, etc all seem like they'd never come to DBD and I'd be happy with any/all of them.
I would also love a Bloodborne killer. Easily my favorite Souls game and an easy pick if I was given the choice.
Sam from Trick or Treat. He seems too childlike and I don't think they'd bring him in but then again we do have Victor.
Edit: Anything from the Scary Movie series would also be fun. Mostly as survivors.
-
I have no idea and I think we have too little to go on for a proper guess, especially when some of their hints are way out there.
Indie wise I'd prefer Slenderman over FNAF and for normal horror I'd take Chucky as my first pick with Jason being number two.
In a way, I really want them to start teasing an animatronic killer of some kind and then have it be the Banana Splits just because it would cause so much chaos.
I also think we are way overdue for Candyman. I feel like they hinted at that way back when and something went awry and now they're just sitting on it.
I'd also not quite literally kill for some kind of anime killer. Just my general thoughts so far.

Did mine super quick using Wraith and a kicking build. Both kick add-ons, Brutal, Dragon's Grip, Fire Up and whatever else you like; I personally went with Pop.
It's meme-y but it gets the job done.
-
It's hard to say. There are a lot of killers in the game now so outside of the top popular spots it's kind of random who you'll see. After all, you'd have to play 27 games if you wanted to see each killer just one time which is a lot of games.
As even more killers get in you'll see less and less of everyone unless they're top tier and fun. Only top tier and they'll be like Artist/Hag where they're good but not played a lot. If they're fun but meh then they'll just join everyone else you see only once in a while due to the sheer number of possibilities.

Which BHVR also tried to get but Warner studios turned them down.
Got a quote, tweet or some kind of proof of that? Realistically I don't ever see it happening but I don't think I've seen them bring it up outside of the survey. The only thing I could find on it was an interview from thegamer which I wouldn't call a reliable source.
Hell, right in the article they say Chucky wouldn't work because it's too much a comedy but they would totally get Scooby Doo if they could. Because you know, that's much more horror related then Chucky lol.

Adept is more about finding cans anyways. Perks are irrelevant. They would be just as easy/hard if you had to run the Otzdarva challenge.
Cans? Is that a typo or am I just old and don't know video game lingo like I used to?
I get what your saying though and my original point is moot anyway. I don't know why but I could have swore when they changed the grades to MMR they made grades work the same no matter what category you were in.

They don't affect match making but getting a merciless as ash iv is easier than at iri i because it requires a lower amount of pip points
Does it still work like that? I thought they made it the same across the board since it's not used for anything anymore. Huh, the more you know.
-
Best of luck to you OP. I got it on my second game but her perks do not do much for you on their own.
@Lucario576 said:
Try to get it tomorrow as the rank will reset and will be easier to get a merciless
So you know, ranks don't effect matchmaking at all. You'll still get the same people whether you're red rank 1 or you just reset. The only way your matches might be better is because there may be more people playing on reset so you'll have a chance of getting people closer to your MMR.Never mind~

I am. At this point I'm more excited for the FNAF people to see their dreams crushed than the actual chapter reveal.
I should probably get therapy don't I...
It's that sweet sweet schadenfreude.
On the actual topic I think it's a bit of a stretch but who can say, maybe it is. At this point I want to see the chapter just so every future chapter isn't FNAF guessing.
-
Mostly agree though I'd put Nemi up a tier or two if and only if the zombies are around as well. It's pretty funny guarding a hook while two zombies are also there being a pain in the ass for the person trying to rescue, especially if you have zombie speed add-ons.
It's also possible for them to straight up facecamp for you while you're off doing other stuff. It's all random though so I get the tier placement.
-
Like a 2 if even that. I basically only play DBD with my buddy on survivor and as killer I play only for the challenges and tend to mess around when I do. Once the tome is done I don't play at all until the next one. This gives me a lot of time to rest and basically keeps my burnout at zero.
DBD is a game I enjoy playing on both sides but not one where I want to play it everyday. It's one of those games I just like to play now and again. The tomes give me reason to play more than I otherwise would but not enough that it feels like a slog.
That said, before they lowered the exp requirement it was starting to get to me and I don't know if I would have keep it up. My burnout at that time was probably around a 5-6 and growing.
-
Ehh, that's not too bad and pretty common on the woodsy maps since there's not a lot of stuff between them.
You ever see old Azarov's Resting Place where you could have 5 gens on one side, sometimes with 3-4 in eyesight. It was super rare but damn that was great as a killer.

PS5. I'd love to play with crossplay off, but it's PS5 only so I basically never get a lobby. Hate playing against PC players
If you have the PS4 version, you can play that on PS5 instead to get normal PS4 lobbies while still getting 60fps.
-
PS4 crossplay off for the most part.
Used to play with it on but got a few hackers here and there and just said hell with it since I still have quick queue times. If my queue times ever get really bad I'll turn it back on though.

Why does it need to be earnable? Just alert survivors of NOED when the gates are powered/hatch is closed. Hopefully that would reduce complaints and make it more fair. Alternatively, cleansing totems as an objective could be incentivized better, but I've always thought that would hurt NOED too much.
While I'm normally on the fence with NOED, I wouldn't be opposed to this suggestion at all. Having it work the same way as Rancor does and alert people when it's active would be a very suitable change IMO.
-
It probably didn't take all that long to fix the Nurse bugs, it's more they bundle all the bug fixes together instead of doing little minor patches here and there to save on costs since I'm pretty sure they have to pay every time they do a console update whereas steam is free or at least cheaper to patch.
Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong there. I do remember a mod talking about it once I just can't remember all the details of it.
As far as Haddonfield goes, it's a map remake so who knows on that one.
-
Not a lot. Most of the time NOED only nets a single kill unless people really mess up or stick together. A lot of time killers will win before NOED is in play or when there is one survivor left after shutting the hatch at which point it doesn't matter anyway.
-
I mean, every character has a useless stereotype.
Dwight hides in lockers, Meg's always do something dumb, Claudette heals in a corner, David's are overly cocky and then die, Nea sandbags you, Feng tries but is just really bad, Jane is trying to do head-on stuff, Jonah doesn't exist, etc.
I don't think a single character has a mostly positive outlook.
-
Judith's on it's own is fine. Tuft is also fine. Both of them together are kinda weak if you're going against a good team but will destroy solo's and cocky teams.
Tombstone Piece needs a nerf or to be made an Iri instead. It's very easy to get and if you face a team where you didn't get it once then you probably would have lost no matter what you ran anyway.
-
Depends. On PS4 I have a couple names I recognize who tend to always leave salty messages after a match and I get a little bummed if they ignore me.
One of my favorites is a guy who in the 5 or so games I played against him, dc'd every time on first down and then sent a message seconds later, saying reported for abuse, cheating, targeted harassment, etc and that it's all been filed and he's on the phones with BHVR as we speak. I'll ask him what I did and then he goes off on me for a while. I'd be heartbroken if the next time I get him I don't get a message.
Most of the time I don't care though as I normally play fairly chill. I tend not to tunnel, camp, or slug unless I'm doing a challenge or feeling particularly sweaty.
As survivor I think I've only gotten like two salty messages from a killer and the only one I can remember is for apparently abusing aim dressing by attempting 360's. I never expect message as survivor.
-
8 I think? Not really sure, I don't pay attention to it much.
-
Entitled to? None. Preferred? Three.
While I would enjoy having three proper chases and hooks along with them I'm not about to get overly upset if a killers slugs me and camps my body for 4 minutes. I might get a bit annoyed if I'm doing a challenge or something but it's not that big a deal.
-
While I agree MMR is a reason for some of the decrease it's certainly not the only reason.
A bunch of new games have come out, covid has settled down, cheater issue, CoH, Grind, new player retention being bad, burnout, etc.
The new chapter also wasn't very hyped up so it's unlikely to bring in a lot of new people.
Even if they removed MMR I don't think you'd see that number go up all that much and I feel that initial 11k loss was the majority of the MMR quitters. The rest of the losses I feel leaned more towards the above reasons.
-
Covid is settled down so people will have a lot less time to play and will lower the numbers a bit.
A bunch of new hype games are out. Dying Light 2, Elden Ring, Horizon, etc. Some streamers are bailing on DBD for a while to play Elden Ring and other games so that will take some players away.
I'm sure some just have general burnout or need a break which is where the new hype games come in. DBD is getting old after all.
New chapter has very little hype around it so it won't be pulling in a lot of people.
Cheater Problem and MMR which people don't care much for. This is a big one they should work on sooner rather then later.
I'm assuming the next big release besides chapters is the grind fix/MMR changes which they've talked about for a bit. Depending on if/how that's done you'll see some people come back.

1: I'd love bots but I'm pretty sure they've said it's not going to happen. We're not going to get them for practice or customs either. I would take this in a heartbeat over anything else though.
2: While not a bad idea on paper, I feel people would abuse that it the killer got a decent start. 2 minutes and the killer has 2 hooks and a slug, DC and now they have nothing. That said if the time was short, like less then a minute or 30 seconds in then maybe I could get behind it but I still don't like the idea very much.
3: The two 5 minute bans are your free DC's and there is no reason to have 3 free ones IMO. If your dc timer is up in the 30 minutes or longer category then I don't think you should be allowed a free DC.
4: I could get behind this one but only if it's very early in the match. If we're 7 hooks deep and the person dc'd before you could hook them I don't think everyone else should just be able to DC.
Personally, I feel like the DC penalty is just fine. There will of course be outliers where people get dicked because of it but for the most part I think it does its job good enough.
One of the suggestions I've seen before is having a DC weight on matchmaking. People who DC a lot get priority put who with other people who DC. A sort of matches played vs matches DC'd and have the percentages over a certain threshold put together.
That's just one idea at least. You could do a DC weight in a lot of different ways.
-
While I'm not against the idea I think it work better as a killer skin for someone like Oni then an outright chapter.
Caveman just doesn't really fit many horror vibes in my mind, especially when we have other concepts still. Werewolf, Vampire, Alien, Something with fire, other elements, etc.
-
I think a mod somewhere said the next patch update. So, likely when Sadako releases or the patch after.
-
I mean what did you expect? That comes off as very mocking with how you put it. You basically told him you had fun but he must feel like ######### for losing but hey, they still did alright even though they got their ass kicked. Then you double down to ######### on him after seeing he's upset.
It might not have been your intent but it comes off as trolling and you being a sore winner.
-
Not even a little. I play it because I have fun with a buddy of mine in a 2-man and have some giggles now and then as killer. If he ever dropped the game, I'd probably drop it as well or at least play it a lot less. I certainly wouldn't finish the rifts or even do any of the challenges.
In fact, most of the time I'd probably end up just watching some youtube vids when a new killer comes out and hang around the forums now and then.
That isn't to say I don't still like the game but I'd probably just put the time in other games instead since I'd have less reason to stay.
-
Well that is certainly an interesting tier list. What platform does he play on?
Advorsus said it well. Some are good, some are bad, and some are very debatable.
From my own opinion,
Nurse, Bubba, Pinhead, Plague, Artist, Spirit and Twins should be higher.
Trapper, Huntress, Doctor and Wraith should be lower.
Many of the others are debatable; I'd personally move a lot of them around in the same rank. Nemi for example I'd put as low A, high B
-
Pretty excited to watch the PTB.
Lovely art as always.
-
I'm thinking Boon: Skill Check
Something to do with either making good skill checks great ones or making great skill checks worth more.
Boon: Vigil is my 2nd guess which has an obvious effect.
I think it's a safe bet we get those two eventually.

Nah my psn is different. Also can't remember playing against you. I play surv more and with crossplay on.
When I play killer it is on or off.
Also I am eu.
I only remember seeing @BenZ0 once when I played survivor and that's it.
Ah most likely not then as I play in US East. Was just curious as I know I played a killer recently-ish with "shape" in their name, I just couldn't remember what the full thing was so I thought I may as well ask. See if the stars aligned so-to-speak.

Crossplay on and off?
Crossplay off on ps4 is mostly 4man swf when I play killer. If you ask me how I know, I do because I see the same 4 people in lobbies often.
I didn't really play survivor without crossplay because I like killer variety. But solo q is hit or miss depending on the time of the day you play in general. I get better teammates during the day when the q's are short and vice versa at night.
I don't think that killers you get are unstoppable, it is just your teammates not being efficient and wasting time.
Huh, my experience is a bit different. I tend to always play with crossplay off and as killer I don't really recognize most of the names. As survivor though I'll see the same killer, sometimes multiple games in a row and I'll recognize other survivor names. Although for survivor it's usually more of a, "Oh hey, I played with that guy yesterday or last week."
Also curious if you've seen me in game? Same as my username. If your username is the same I wanna say I've seen you as killer once, though I can't say for sure.
-
I mean it is possible you just didn't notice it.
One of mine spawned in a corner-ish of a map that I only found on like my third trip around. Another one spawned next to a burning barrel on the crow map and with the noise of the barrel and the other random map noises, I couldn't really hear it as it spawned in. It also blended in with the fire and I only got lucky that I happened to see it as I was looking for a gen.
Of course it's also possible it was a bug which would be a shame.
-
There are a lot of counters to it.
-Go cleanse NOED
-Wake Up
-Obsession opens the door
-Get downed to slow timer
-Just run at the opened gate as a team
If the killer is hovering around a gate or they purposely tunneled the obsession out while seemingly having no perks, then you could assume they might be doing this and camp a gate yourself since they'll probably stop chasing once you get to 1 gen. Touch the gate right away and now their build does practically nothing.
It's one of those builds that's funny to try but it shouldn't really work that often. However, like most other weird builds it will probably end up working more often then it should because people don't pay enough attention, they just don't care, or it was used on newer players.
All this said, I wouldn't be surprised if they change how No Way Out works, especially if this starts to become more popular.
-
The last couple of tomes since they lowered to EXP requirement for fragments I've only done the challenges and hit close to 70, like 68-69. In fact, this last one because of the bonus tome thing they did I was lvl 60ish at the end of tome 3. I was lvl 70 with only like half of tome 4 done.
So in my experience you should be able to get pretty close to 70 as long as you do every challenge.
