On topic, I think the shard BP thing was a bug. I'm fine with shard cost for perks though since it is auto applied to everyone.
You can already take a ton of hits now, it's just a little easier then before and I think it's being blow out of proportion, That said I do think OTR shouldn't work at endgame and endurance shouldn't stack as you mentioned.
That 2% thana buff is also overblown as you can already do massive slowdown builds on them. I don't think it was needed but I also think people are freaking out over nothing as they have in the past. I could be wrong but we'll have to see.
Overall I think switching things up is fine and most people are freaking out over the extreme end of situations which can pretty much happen anyway. Do agree OTR shouldn't work endgame as well as endurance not being stackable.
-
I paragraphed It for anyone interested.
So as shown in the PTB, there was buffs, nerfs, perks reworks. Prestige system rework, shrine of secrets changing as well. And i would like to discuss with you people how unhealthy DBD will become after this unless some serious changes knock in.
So first let's talk about the shrine of secrets. This isn't a big issue for me, but it's still ridiculous how it works, so. Tier 1 of a perk costs 2000 shards, Tier 2, 3500 shards, and Tier 3, 4500 Shards. Then after you have done it, apparently it costs 15k shards for like 100K of BP. I know people doesn't use shrine for BP. But even so, why make 15k. Which takes pretty long to get, just to get a low amount of BP. Change this.
Now onto the crazy meta. With OTR, DH, Mettle Of Man. You can take alot of hits. However, as much as i hate this. They can keep OTR as it is. Or even the meta in general. But atleast make the endurance hits not stackable. Once you get the deepwound state. No other endurance perk can be used. I did like some of the changes like being able to break pallets and gens 10% faster. Just like the basic attacks.
However there is another problematic thing. They decided to buff Thanatophobia. With this, something like Legion has a pretty good slowdown. Or even another killer in general. If someone decides to do Thanatophobia+Pentimento. It will take 2-3 minutes to complete one gen if one person alone is working on it.
I know most of you already know this because of the PTB and all. But this is for BHVR to actually listen to the community and change this unhealthy and unbalanced experience incoming if they decide to proceed with this update in the same way as it initially arrived on the PTB. This has made me lost hope on BHVR and think they actually don't know what the hell they are doing with DBD. And that's it.
-
Interesting you didn't finish as this one was really generous IMO. I don't think you have to do any of level 4 to hit 70 as long as you got some of the login bonuses, codes and did most of the event.
I know I was around 60 just by finishing level 3 with some codes and such. The event easily pushed me to 70 and that was just at the start of it.
-
I don't have a screenshot but the most I got so far was around 295k total because of the green glyphs/flans.

I also slammed these out on Legion, after...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/330940/evader-tome-challenge-reminded-me
9 games into survivor today and I didn't get a single one.
My games consisted of:
- A Sadako who cable pulled after she couldn't catch me on DDS.
- A Freddy who cable pulled after he couldn't catch me on Midwich.
- Getting facecamped by a Bubba.
- A Deathslinger who cable pulled after he chased someone else for 3 gens on DDS.
- A hard fought game against a Nurse, only earned me Silver.
- Getting slugged to death by a Freddy.
- Playing against Twins (I think it's almost impossible to get this against Twins, as Victor gives zero credit)
- Someone else getting facecamped by a Bubba while we did gens and left.
- A baby Wraith who, despite multiple chases, only earned me Silver.
Eventually gave up, went back to Legion, waited out the sodding 6 minute queues I have right now and got it in 4 games.
..
-
Playing nothing but Legion. It's basically free even with minimum effort.

Didn't we have an event end in failure a long time ago? Like the 2018 summer or autumn event, I think.
But yes, I wouldn't be surprised if they extended it if the community fails to meet the goals by a sliver. They don't want to create rewards and then not give them out.
Yup, you were right. It was the Fall Masquerade 2017 where you had to hook survivors or escape the killers grasp 12m times over four days in any gamemode. The community got to around 6 million and was given a huntress mask cosmetic recolor as a consolation prize while the real prize was never revealed.
I imagine if the prize was a cosmetic, they've probably already released it in some form. I am surprised they didn't do any kind of extension to it though, even if it was small event. Then again, it was early in DBD's life so they we're probably still testing some things out. Still surprising though.
From my quick peruse through the wiki, that seems to be the only failure.

I'm not sure actually. I've been playing around when Clown first came in, whatever year that was and I don't think any events have been failures since then. I'll check the wiki and see if anything comes up though as I'd be pretty surprised if one did fail.

I guess, I just also am kind of worried that we won't get all the rest of them done by the end, plus I hate how Haddie's pieces have been the last earned on BOTH pages... IMO it should have been reversed on the second page. Which is also tied to my worry that we might not finish them all in time.
Honestly, I hate the entire emblem system has been made worthless with the new MMR rules, like why do we even still have it when literally the only thing it matters to is the grade and killer adepts?
So the challenges on page 2 are all tied to an outdated mechanic that so many players don't even care about.
I wouldn't be worried too much. If it looks like it's not going to be finished then they'll probably just extend the event, calling it an after party or something like that and give a couple extra days or however many they think is needed.
When it comes to community stuff, it's pretty rare any company would ever let a timed event end in failure. It's why they reduced the numbers for the first part and why I think they'll change the 2nd part if they have to.

That is not correct. DH, SC, SC, IW - these perks got absolutely destroyed and will almost completely disappear. Only Self Care with Botany Knowledge will remain to be used - and is "better" than before if you used them together.
It will actually be quite a bit worse then before when used together because of how the game does percentages; they're not a flat increase but based on the number. Some math if anyone is curious with "CaS" standing for charges a second.
16/c for a full heal with 1/CaS being normal healing speed. Current self care is at 50% speed which is .5/CaS. Botany adds 33% of that (not to) .5 which is ~.666/CaS. This makes current botany with Self Care take approximately 24 seconds.
New self care will be .35/CaS with botany adding 50 percent of that (again not to) which is .525/CaS. This means the new combo will take ~30.5 seconds to heal.
It's about a 6 second nerf from what the combo was. Someone feel free to double check my math but it should check out.
-
I kind of want to copy/paste that entire thing but replace dead hard with Nurse and range add-ons. I think it'd work well.
On topic, I'd probably just turn off endgame chat or leave early if you're worried about trashtalk or if it gets to you more then it should. No reason to upset yourself.
-
I don't think either of those two things should be considered toxic but if you're looking for something a little different that people might find annoying then three things come to mind.
Follow a trapped person around as Pig until they die.
Camp as many items as you can with Franklins.
T-bag downed survivors as Ghostface.
Outside of tunneling, camping, slugging and nodding/head-shaking, there's not a lot killers can do that would overly annoy survivors.
-
Yeah, I'm also surprised with how some people are reacting like it's the death of the game. There are certainly some things I can understand being concerned over but for the most part I think the changes are great.
The only thing I wanted to see more of that we didn't get was a better incentive to not facecamp in early game. It'll be no different then now beside gens taking 10 seconds longer, so arguably a buff for all the spicy Bubba's out there.
Tunneling will be a bit less effective with BT basekit as well as OTR being a DS/BT baby that can be used twice along with DS so that'll be nice against hardcore tunnelers. Maybe get rid of the effect in endgame though, the same way they did with DS.
All the perk changes are a welcome idea. I think some were nerfed a little too hard and might get buffed after the PTB and the same with some of the buffs that will probably be nerfed but all in all, seeing changes like this in such a big number is fantastic and I welcome more of it.
The prestige system is great. The matchmaking incentive is basically a weaker BBQ for everyone which is fine, though the BP hit is heartbreaking. My biggest issue is no disincentive for early game facecamping. Then again, I see it happen so little that it's not even that big of a complaint.
So yeah, I'd personally be ecstatic to see more mid-chapter patches like this.

it gives 15% as it doesn't effect the user, only the person next to you.
This is wrong. It does affect both the user and the person repairing the generator with you. Its currently slightly bugged. Its suppose increase repair speed by 15% for both users for total of 30%, but currently it gives only 26% speed bonus.
Okay, I do stand corrected on the user thing. I thought the 15 percent efficiency loss only applied to one survivor but it seems it does apply to both which means Prove Thyself should apply to both as well.
However, my calculations should still correct based on how the game does percentages. It doesn't add or subtract a flat 15%. It does it based on the number itself. So if a person does 1/c a second on a gen, it will become .85/c a second when with someone else.
With Prove Thyself it doesn't add the .15/c loss back. It takes 15% of .85 which is around .1275 which we can round to .13 This means when survivors are working together they are only doing .98/c which is why the bar is red instead of gray when working with someone using Prove Thyself.
Now lets go even further and say it did work by adding a flat 15%. This would then save time only on the final gen, which would be 7, 12 and 16 seconds respectively with two, three and four people.
As far as I know this should be how the calculations are done. At least this is how they were done.

If you put it in a hexadecimal to text converter you get a sting of letters. rm4GHmLQw-E You can use those letters to take you to a youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rm4GHmLQw-E

the problem is that it increases repair speed by 30% by counter-acting the penalty, 30% is a lot of repair speed. co-op 2-3 gens which the survivor will naturally do based off the teamwork nature of the game saves 6-7 seconds per gen. If you co-op all 5 generators, you reduce total objective time by 30-34 seconds. that is like the killer using current pain resonance nearly 3 times, each pain resonance is 12 seconds. so it does ~44% progression.
I don't think anyone overestimates the perk. If anything this perk is underestimated because its not used enough despite having near game-breaking effect. Its pick-rate is way too low in my opinion. I think survivor would overall win a lot more often if they used this perk due to fast-objective time.
As Peanut states, there is only so many perks that can get changed in 1 chapter. Overzealous is completely useless because it takes 15 seconds to cleanse a totem+the time to find a totem, so in order to gain anything from 6% repair speed, you'd have to do a minimum of 3 generators to counter-act cleansing time and +2 generators if you don't find the totem right away. This isn't talking about how the perk disables upon any injury. current Overzealous perk is worse than not bringing it. it is No-mither-levels
While I agree overzealous is useless, I disagree with your assessment of Prove Thyself since again, the time save only comes from negating the efficiency lost. Solo gens and then cooping the last is nearly as fast as Prove Thyself and a bit more consistent since you don't have to worry about 2 people getting knocked off a gen. Prove Thyself also doesn't give 30%, it gives 15% as it doesn't effect the user, only the person next to you.
Let's compare solo gens to two Prove Thyself group gens with no interaction from the killer at all.
Solo- Four gens done in 80 seconds with the 5th gen done together in about 47 seconds with two people. 127 seconds total for all gens not counting movement time.
Two Prove thyself groups- Two gens in 41 seconds, followed by another Two in 41 seconds and the last one in 41 with two people. 123 seconds total for all gens not counting movement time.
Not including movement time Prove Thyself will only save 4 seconds altogether. With 3 people coop-ing the last gen, the time difference is 7 seconds and four people is around 9 seconds. Again for reference, a single commodious with no add-ons saves a flat 11 seconds.
I'm not saying Prove Thyself is bad as the extra time you do get can help destroy a 3 gen or slam out the final gen which those few extra seconds saved can be the difference. The perk just isn't as extreme as people think it is.
-
I did it on The Game map after a couple tries. Go to one of the exit gates and drop them off the ledge and then they don't have time to get to a locker. Even better if you have PWYF since they really won't get anywhere. I'd worry more about people dcing or the last person getting hatch at that point though.
There might be other maps where you can do that as well but the Game is the only one that comes to mind.
-
The locker and pallet break perk are both pretty cool and enjoyable but I'd argue Septic Touch is one of those worst perks in the game, like bottom 10 or 20. Very niche situational perk with a very tame effect.
I'd change the terror radius requirement to 32 meters of the killer so spoopy killers can use it since it would work better on them anyway, replace blindness with oblivious so normal killers could get some sneaky plays, give it hemorrhage on the person getting healed as well so all the healing progress they had disappears and buff the time it lasts a little bit.
-
I think people really overestimate prove thyself. It's not a bad perk by any means but it's hardly OP.
It saves about 6 seconds with 2 people, 8 seconds with 3 and around 11 with 4. This time save is also not nearly as efficient as soloing gens as the time save comes from negating the efficiency loss of working together. As in, it takes 80 seconds to solo a gen and 41 with prove thyself where otherwise it'd take 47.
It's more useful for knocking out a problematic gen and maxing objective rather then straight up rushing them.
For reference, the base brown toolbox with no add-ons saves around 5 seconds while the commodious saves around 11, again no add-ons. Toolboxs can also be brought by everyone without needing to waste a perk slot or needing someone else to get the benefit.
I think Prove Thyself is perfectly fine as it's basically just a toolbox in perk form.
-
I would also like to share my hooks lol.
Does anyone know if this was fixed in the newest patch?

Pretty sure forum rules require all names except yours to be blurred out but maybe I'm wrong
This is the exact rule if you're curious. For the most part, names are fine as long as they're not the person people are complaining about.
- If your post may reflect negatively on another person or people, please censor their name(s)

Something I think people forget is that there are 28 killers now. 1 every 10 games honesty isn't that bad. Comparatively, it took ages to see Sadako when she released and since then I've played against maybe 3.
I think we need to wait a bit longer to see where they settle but 1 every 10 games I think would be pretty good.
-
The glyphs can spawn at any potential totem location. Not just ones where totems are currently at but any potential totem spot across the map.
The glyphs only show up after doing objectives, finishing gens and hooking survivors. They are not active at the beginning of a match so you can't just go around searching. I'm not 100% sure if the other side doing their objective will spawn glyphs but I'm inclined to say no and if yes, then it seems to be a reduced amount.
When EGC happens it will reveal all current green glyphs for you.
I believe you can only get 6 per match.
As far as I know that's all the info in how they work.

Of course I know who Otz is but what is Otz's Law?
If there was a map offering and someone dc's in the match then it was the person who used the offering that dc'd.
Otz noticed the connection and came up with the term as there's not really a quick way to say it so, Otz law. It also happens to be true a lot of the time as well, at least in my experience. Be sure to check it out yourself if given the chance.
-
Well that is certainly a list, here are my quick thoughts and personal opinions.
Sadoko is way too high, arguably bottom 5.
Demo should go down a tier.
Trickster should be ahead of Slinger and they should both be up a tier.
Pinhead should be up 2 tiers, arguably 3.
Billy should be down a bit
I think Nemi is higher then Bubba.
Twins up a tier or arguably 2
Wraith down a tier.
A few others I'd move a couple spots on the same tier as well.
All in all, I personally don't agree with about half the list or so but that's just how DBD is. Everyone has their own opinions and tier lists can be pretty interesting to look at because of that.
-
To guarantee the 4k. That's about it.
-
I saw a Franklins/hoarder Nemesis that used the exposed add-on once. He was also using insidious/dragon grip and got a cheeky down with it. He was messing around all match but it was pretty fun.
Edit: I think the other add-on he used was the undetectable one. He came in with a plan and he saw it through.
For me, I also like to use the pink and purple zombie speed because it's hilarious watching zombies zoom.
For the most part though it's usually Marvins blood on everyone with the other add-on being a bit random. I don't actually see the eye nearly as much as I used to.
-
This feels like a copypasta that I'm out of the loop with.

I imagine the basekit BBQ change (if any) will be the bp bonus for playing whatever role is needed that they showed off.
I do hope BBQ keeps it's bp bonus to some degree as well though.

In game bad manners doesn't exist people are just too soft when it comes to that sort of thing but as for endgame chat toxicity it's uncalled for there's absolutely no reason to threaten or insult anyone because of what they did in a video game, I think some people just take the game too personal and treat it like it's their real life, like someone came to their house and hit them over the head and t bagged them
This is kind of how I feel. I had a person send me multiple voice messages once, seemingly on the verge of tears and having a bit of a breakdown by the tone of their voice and they told me how awful a person I was and that I should be banned because I tunneled them for an obsession challenge.
-
I don't know if xbox does it but does it have two versions? On PS5 you can play both the PS5 and PS4 version and if you do crossplay off on the PS5 version it takes a lot longer since it only matches with PS5 while running the PS4 version will match with other ps4 players even though you're on the PS5
If Xbox is the same way then I'd try running the older version as that may help your queue times, if you're not already that is.
-
If I see a newer account with a bait post, I liked to check their history to see if there is more I can look at. It's pretty fun sometimes looking at the responses.
-
I haven't played Dredge and only seen videos so I can't really say much on him but I do feel he's too high. From my first impressions I'd put him around Pyramid Head, maybe lower.
I'd put Trickster over Deathslinger but that one is super debatable.
Sadako I think should be in D-tier. I know some people say she's not bad but from playing as her, against her and watching gameplay, she just feels awful to me. Like, worse then Freddy in trying to find a cool compilation video kind of bad. Maybe I just don't get her but she feels super weak to me. Not worst killer in the game bad but pretty close, like 5th worst maybe.
Doctor should be higher than Wraith IMO but I could see them being interchangeable for some.
I think Nemi should be bottom of A or at least higher then Demo on B as well. Assuming that place where your zombies do at least do something in the match.
Even with his buffs Legion feels way too high. I'd say bottom of B top C.
Everyone else I'm okay with for the most part but I would also switch the ratings to S,A,B,C,D,F. SS seems a little overkill to me.
-
Its been bugged for Myers since around the first of may, maybe a bit before then. It has had multiple reports in the bug section as well and the challenge does work for other killers so it's still a simple challenge to do.

Not sweaty, and farming are two totally different things. You can get banned for farming if you get reported enough. Personally I hate farming, I'd rather dc or just get the game over with quickly, its so
Unless they changed their stance recently, it's never been bannable and is instead just frowned upon. Forcing someone to farm however is bannable. Such as downing and hooking them when they're not doing what you want or stopping them from doing gens to leave, etc.
-
I get some people not wanting it to be automatic because of some niche situations to which I can empathize and potentially agree but I don't get the hatch complaint. I give people hatch all the time, almost every game I win in and in the new system you can just not down them if that's what you want. If you want someone to have hatch then just give them the hatch or close it and let them have the door instead.
Wanting to down them first to show you're on top before giving them a pity/mercy escape just for the sense of superiority and dominance is being a smug af winner. I have no problem with that being removed.
-
Not sure what your issue is here? With the new system you won't lose anything at all for prestiging so it's basically no different then leveling from 50 except now you'll get perma perk unlocks every 50 levels.
I'm not understanding your problem with it and how it could be frustrating in the least? Even if they gave no compensation to make up for not prestiging it would still be a fantastic system.
-
Yup. Was reported on the forums back on the first. I think it has been around a bit longer then that though.
-
I'm a tad petty sometimes so I probably would have reported the message since swearing is a big no no on PSN but at the same time he could have just been having a bad day. I've had people go off on me and then the next day apologize saying it just all built up and they had to let it out. I try to keep that in mind as well since some people are just trying to vent off frustration, even if they're doing it in an inappropriate way.
I feel like most of us have been there.
-
When I read the title I was thinking more like a full window the survivor actually has to break through, sending glass and stuff everywhere which would be a cool effect. Could make it as well where it has to be a fast vault in order to break it then it becomes normal.

Serious question, what do you enjoy about the “salt”? I see so many people claim this (not just in regards to this game) but never understood what part of getting people worked up they enjoy.
I believe for most people it's the feeling of schadenfreude that comes from it.
-
Outside of the Jeryl thing mentioned above, they can be troll-y with repressed alliance. Not much really going on for her.
-
A bit off topic but it wasn't until I started playing DBD that I realized how many people choose characters to play by how much they can relate to them, not just here but games in general.
It makes me wonder how many people are like me and only play characters based on cool factor or on a whim because they had a funny outfit or something else like that. Even in games where you can create your own character I normally go for a small girl if possible because I love the little-miss-badass trope and that certainly is not something I can relate to in the least.
On topic, I don't think lore changes are good enough of an excuse to get a refund. The game is subject to change and that includes lore. Just as you can't get a refund for a perk or killer power that gets changed you almost certainly can't for lore either.
-
A little but of everything but RPG's are probably my favorite genre and I'm up for anything with those. From random pervy ones like Omega Quintet to mainstream ones like Final Fantasy and everything in-between. One my favorites off-hand is one for PS2 called Radiata Stories.
I can enjoy pretty much every genre though. I've play sports games, action games, shooters, racing, mobile, idle, everything. About the only thing I don't really play are MMO's because of the massive time sink involved.
I just don't have it in me and the only reason I got into the DBD time sink was because of a friend.
My second biggest time sink is BO3 zombies. I have like 1100 hours or so on that. I'm prestige 10 level 200 something I believe. I still play that every once in a while though I can't remember any of the "Easter Eggs" outside of SoE. That's about the only map I play now.
Edit: As for other games I playing at the moment, I just about finished up Ni No Kuni for the second time and then I'm going to go for FF9 or maybe Bioshock 2. I'm not sure yet.
-
Minotaur skin is my favorite of his, probably my favorite skin in the entire game for killer. Only downside is it doesn't have its own original sounds.
-
How about something like a reverse ghostface where the more you look at him the more an exposed bar goes up. He'd also start with no terror radius but as you look at him more, the terror radius will expand to give you an idea of how exposed you are.
He'd have some kind of teleport and could have page collection as a secondary objective. You have to collect all 7 pages scattered around the map as a team in order to leave through the exit gates but as you collect more pages he'll gets minor buffs to his power. Shorter cool down on teleport, faster expose, etc. If you collect them all right away his power will be at it's strongest but if you wait, you won't be able to leave right away.
Hooking a survivor would make them lose a page so the team will have to collect it again and the killer won't be able to see the pages since they could just camp them.
Just something rough I came up with quick.
-
Recently, I've enjoyed to liken teabagging and jaywalking. It's not a good thing to do but depending on who you ask, you'll get different opinions about it.
Some people don't care if you do it, other people get annoyed but will accept it or maybe point out you shouldn't and others yet will let you know how much they hate you and how bad of a person you are for doing it. Some people will only do it in certain scenarios, and others yet will purposely do it just to try and get a rise out of people. There are also of course, the people who take it way too seriously and blow it out of proportion.
As far as getting in trouble for it goes, it also depends on the place. Some places don't care at all, some will try and push you away from doing it and others yet see it as a big deal worth punishing.
The main point being BHVR happens to be one of the places that cares very little and doesn't seem to think it's a big deal. That might change in the future but for now it is how it is.
